"I don't need to go angsty teenager when half the tamers in here do it for me, though." Coolmon made a rather biting joke in response to that. There were, nonetheless, a number of things to keep note of on the thirty minute hike it took to get to the cultist's camp, only to find themselves at what seemed to be a ghost town.
Huh, they hadn't even bothered to do anything yet and the place was empty. Aya had been lingering a fair distance behind, but even the lilac-haired woman could see that something had befallen their targets. The question was, however, what? Coolmon glanced up at the red pustules upon that tower, before looking to Asher as a rather grim look crossed her face.
"...That stuff lines up with D-Reaper infection. Doesn't it. Guess those amulets..." She trailed off as they went further in to find a BlackGabumon with an amulet trying to pry it away from himself. Well, they needed to find out who was They but Coolmon very much sprang into action, trying to grab at the Amulet (not the red part, obviously, that's a fool's gamble) and wrench it away from the Gabumon. "Don't care, I'll beat them up for you." She hissed.

During their lengthy walk, Asher paid some attention to the Bakemon following for a short while. Until they reached the cult's grounds, at least. Then, it became fairly clear to him that not many were brave enough to walk into this territory. Was it ill advised for them to do so?
Surely, they'd find out soon enough.
When it was clear that the camp wasn't particularly guarded, he opted to follow Coolmon a bit further, to see what was going on. Something just wasn't sitting right. The red on the tower felt more than a little ominous, though he supposed it should be expected. "Yeah. It's definitely related," he agreed, lowly. Was it infectious? It certainly didn't look like something anyone should dare touch.
That said, Asher wasn't too keen on the idea of touching those amulets, either. Especially if the one wearing it didn't look like it wanted to be! Putting his hands in his pockets, the redhead lingered at the doorway of the tent, rather than entering like Coolmon had in order to interact with the amulet-wearing Gabumon. In part, because he wanted to make sure that if someone did show up, Ayaka wouldn't be the only one to see it.
Letting Coolmon worry about getting the item, Asher decided to see if anyone would answer what he considered to be a fairly important question. "Why is someone going to come back if we're here?" What difference would it make if they were alone, versus the knights being present?
And, how would anyone know?

The blackGabumon cringed a bit as the amulet’s string snapped as the coolmon wrenched it away from them. They were at least a little more comfortable with the fact the amulet was away from them but judging by the red growth on their chest they had been wearing this amulet for quite some time.
”N-no you don’t understand! They’ll come back. They already took the leaders! They’ll take you too!”
The other mons seemed a little less ready to talk and seemed to try to worm their way away from Coolmon. Though the only entrance to the tent was met with the fact there was… A human of sorts? None of them saw an opening and they’d shrink back. None of them were wearing an amulet but they were wearing the varied garb of the cultists.
”What do you even want here? It’s obvious you’re not trying to join us!”
The BlackGabumon demanded an answer even though he really wasn’t even in any position to do so. He was probably the only one of the bunch that would have answers for what had happened here. In comparison the others seemed a touch more wide eyed, a few impmon’s and a blackagumon were more or less what was left of the group. The most calm and collected out of all of them was a bearmon that seemed to be missing it’s cap.
There wasn’t a single mon above rookie here.
Didn’t the sangloupmon seem to make out that this group was dangerous? Where were all the fighters that it no doubt had at it’s disposal?
At the human’s question the bearmon rolled it’s eyes. The answer was obvious and he’d point at the three of them.
”Cause your signals are stronger than ours. So the red will come back to pick you up like it did with the other ‘leaders’ that thought it would be a good idea to fight them at mega. Stupid idea if you ask me. All it got them was a bigger heavier response after those scouts were taken out.”
"D-don't just tell them like that! They aren't part of us!"
"After that little kerfluffle can we even assume that there's an us back at the main camp?"
The blackgabumon huffed a bit and shrank away from the coolmon. He was trying to make himself as small as possible and it obviously wasn't working.

Coolmon looked at her hand and then the BlackGabumon. It was painfully clear this cult was dealing with things far beyond their figurative paygrade or comprehension. And that kind of irked her more than it should've, really. The tamer lingering at the back could hear what was going on, too, as the group was confronted with...a lot of rookies.
"Scouts...?" She said out loud. Aya wasn't all TOO familiar with the D-Reaper's agents, but Coolmon was. Just...not with scouts. "So your leaders beat them up and then bigger guys came in? Like kicking a hornet's nest?" This was...troubling, alright. "...What do you mean by main camp? Because if there's more of you wearing these things...I think that camp might be a ghost town."
She hated to say it, but it was the probable truth here...They had to do -something- about this.

Asher just remained in place at the doorway of the tent, listening without really giving any indicator of emotion for the subject. It all sounded like a mess, and maybe just a scare tactic. Especially considering that none of them were willing to even try to pass a human that was standing in their way. Which meant... what other options did they really have, if they were too weak to even run past the redhead, when they surely didn't know he could turn into a digimon himself? So, maybe trying to scare away Coolmon and the humans were the only option they really had for intimidation!
Or maybe there was something that would show up and take them away. Which would be interesting, for sure.
But, between two of them bickering, and a bit more information provide, the teen gave a small shrug. "Do you want to guess why we're here?" That was a terrible response to the question that had been posed by one of the digimon a little bit ago! But, was it really smart to tell them the reason? He could let them come to their own conclusion for now.
Kicking a hornet's nest certainly sounded like a good analogy for this situation, though. It seemed less than ideal, by far! "Why are any of you part of this group, anyway?" More questions, he supposed. Though, he was more curious to watch outside, in the case that these Scouts would show up. "Most of you don't really seem like you fit in here." Not even the Gabumon with the red growth, really! But, he wasn't really sure how much a group of scared rookies would actually talk.
"Are any of you actually here because you want to be?"
