The trip into the digital world was a new one for Zachary, as he now traveled there by air. With the use of the Hyper Wing Modify card and Bageeramon, it was easier to fly around the Digital World and travel faster than before. Even though at first, Zachary was a bit unnerved by the idea of flying but Bageeramon appeared to be quite good at it.
At first, they flew only a small distance overhead of the land-- but then they heard the rumors. In the sky beyond the clouds, was another continent that flew in the sky. A series of lands that somehow hovered overhead. For as long as Zachary remembered, he loved stories about cities and islands that flew in the sky. Those stories to hear that there was an actual, travelable land in the sky-- he just had to see it.
While unsure about it himself, Panthermon agreed to take Zachary there. The armored tiger, Bagheeramon used the Wings Zachary gave him and flew up into the air with Zachary on his back, and past the clouds.
It took some time, but as they ascended higher and higher and past the brilliant light-- they soon saw it.
Landmasses stretched out that moved with the flow of the clouds. For a moment, Zachary's grip on Bagheeramon's fur lessened in awe at what he saw. It looked like heaven, as the islands were filled with fields, forests, glistening buildings that bathed in the sunlight of the digital world. It was dazzling and beautiful. Even Bagheeramon was in awe, looking out at the glistening landscape among the clouds.
While there were many places in this mysterious realm... Bagheeramon began to feel the power of his wings start to fade. He needed to set down somewhere. Finding a large field and space below, the large tiger descended.
Like a tiny black cloud among the shimmering sky, Bagheeramon descended and landed on the field, flowers, and blades of grass being kicked up by the wind as he did so. The moment Zachary hopped off his back, the wings of light that allowed Bagheeramon to fly faded, and his entire form began to glow. He slowly reverted back from Bagheeramon to Panthermon, the Digimental of Friendship flying back into Zachary's digivice and into card form.
Finally back on firm ground, both Zachary and Panthermon looked to their surroundings. They stood in a brilliant field of flowers and golden and green grass. At first, Zachary wondered if he was among stained glass, as how the colors and light refracted off the surface, however, he could clearly see all the objects move with the wind.
"This place... is beautiful..." Zachary breathed, observing the field he was on, a rolling hill that led downward. "I can't believe a place like this exists. And we are on an island-- IN THE SKY?!" Zachary almost seemed to be busting with excitement and joy.
However, Panthermon was a bit more 'grounded', ironically, as he observed the brilliant land around him. He looked at his surroundings with a calm, almost judgemental view as he observed it. "Don't be too excited. No matter how beautiful a place is, there will always be problems somewhere..."
Zachary looked to his black cat companion, puzzled. "Don't you think this place is great? Why are you being such a sour puss about it?" Zachary urged, unsure why the cat was being so guarded. "I mean, no place on Earth exists like this. Can't you appreciate how amazing this is?"
Panthermon let out a soft growl as they slowly progressed down the hill. "What glitters also blinds, Zachary. No reason wickedness doesn't lurk among the clouds here. It is strange... I feel I have been here before. While it is beautiful, time here didn't feel pleasant. But I know I couldn't have been here."
Zachary did get what Panthermon meant. He was a creature of darkness, and while one of the good ones, many saw light and darkness as opposites. There was no way to tell how Panthermon being here might be viewed by the natural residence in this land.
As they reached to the bottom of the hill, the two of them spotted movement at the far end of the fields near some ruins. The glistening marble ruins, pillars that stood half erected, where a few round-shaped creatures bouncing about.
Zachary and Panthermon slowly approached, and soon got a good look at a few. There were a few, the first being a white puffy ball with wings on it, another looked like a small cat with a yellow and violet tail, another appeared to be a marshmallow-like one with sharp teeth at times-- and a few others that appeared chipper and frolicked in the fields.
"Are those... baby Digimon?" Zachary asked.
"In-Training , to be exact," Panthermon corrected.
As they approached, the first one to notice was the one with wings. It stopped chirping and looked up at them, seeing the two as large shadows in the sunlight. Zachary smiled as he knelt down to get closer. "Hey there little guy--" Zachary said...
... but the little creature scampered away to join its friends as if it was frightened.
"Step away from them! These children are under my protection!" a grand voice boomed.
