"And you said that they have quests n such?"
"Missions is what they're called but yes. I have some things to take care of in the city. I'll meet you at the hotel later."
Silence gave a little nod to the Zephyrmon and after watching the bird digimon fly off the shutmon realized one simple thing. She had no idea where the mission guild itself was. Flicking an ear she'd shake her head, stepping lightly through the streets. Honestly she should of asked Zephyr where it was but it didn't quite come to her until it was too late.
She'd ask around a few vendors who would of course try to hack off something to her and well... One of them had an infini storage and she was willing to buy one of those. She didn't have one after all! So with both a map and new bauble she'd set off to the guild proper!
It'd take her a few hours of waking about to find the darned thing even though it was clearly labeled on the map. The twisting roads of whitewater [or at least twisting to her] were needlessly confusing! No wonder zephyr flew around!
The building itself was quite impressive, easily bigger than most of the buildings in rosewood. Though that wasn't hard considering rosewood was no where near the size of whitewater yet. The shutmon hummed to herself and looked about the entry for a moment before pushing the door open. Her cloak billowing out behind her as the air conditioned building blasted her with it's cool somewhat refreshing air.
She was fairly impressed with what she saw in the lobby. Mons of every kind! Birds, cats, wolves, robots, even a few things she couldn't categorize. What were you supposed to call them? Slimes? Her eyes traced around the room and frowning lightly she wasn't exactly... sure where to go right away. There were a few eyes on her as she indeed did stand out, but figuring that the people nearest the lobby desk would know where things were she'd approach, the soft clanking of her armor and the brushing of her cloak made it easy for any with good hearing to note where she was. To her it didn't seem like there was a line, so her question was without much ceremony stated with pure intentions.
"Where are the sign up sheets? This place does that right?"

"Alright, we should be able to take care of that... just have to make a call or two. Please take a seat, ma'am."
"R-right."
Syre gave a nod to the Guardromon clerk behind the desk, and would take a seat near the far wall, pressing her fingers up against her sinus. Unlike most of the time she was at the mission guild, the BlackGatomon wasn't here to peruse the board or otherwise pick up a job. No: yesterday was the last day of her probationary period (thanks to helping that 'invasive monster' out in the woods), and today she could finally get that mark cleared off of her license. Another ten minutes of nothing happening, a brief review of her mission performance, and she could be on her way to do literally anything else.
They always drag their feet... whatever. Another hour and I can be on my way back - hm? Syre's ear flicked as she heard the front door open. Nothing out of the ordinary, this place got a lot of foot traffic - but it was who she saw that caught the cat's eye.
A Shutmon. A white Shutmon, with an energetic and confident version of that familiar fox's voice. The BlackGatomon gave a blink - and simply tried to bury her head into some reading material, to see the upcoming tasks for the month.
Why does it have to be here, of all places...

Silence's ears flicked a bit and she'd frown lightly, the people at the desk seemed to ignore her for the moment and the shutmon folded her arms over one another. There weren't that many people were there? Or perhaps they didn't hear her well enough. Making a small tsk the shutmon's eyes slid across the room to the varied mons that were sitting about.
There were groups, which would be hard for her to approach. She'd have to find someone that was on their own to ask. There were a few, but most of them were either counting money, meditating in some fashion or on a phone call. Silence knew better to interrupt some of those. Her eyes rested on a blackgatomon, not unlike her own mother but... With black fur. They were perusing through what looked to be... Well she didn't really know what it seemed to be; just that there was a lot of words and some images from this angle.
Letting out a brisk tutt she'd step lightly over to the other, resting easy on her sides as she leaned to see what they were actually reading. Curious but at the same time she'd go ahead and ask.
"Don't spose you know where the sign up sheets are? Well if they do that here; lots more techy stuff than in rosewood. Whatcha got there?"
She didn't want to have to intrude or butt into what the cat was doing but honestly they seemed like the safest bet. Silence couldn't help but feel that they were the right choice to ask; as she'd probably just get quickly pointed in the direction to where she needed to go. That or she was really bad at asking city folk that she shouldn't bother with...

Well, shoot - Syre pretended to read the goings-on, but somehow actually ended up absorbed in the material itself. So much going on next month - just what was going on in Terminus, of all places? It didn't seem like it would be hard to pick up a quick guard job or two. Syre found herself flipping between the pages, only for her ear to twitch as Silence eventually approached.
"Hm?" Syre blinked, and looked up, almost automatically answering. "Oh, you go to the bulletin, see what you want, take down the number and go up to the desk. Sign up sheets by themselves haven't been a thing for a few mo-onths...."
Oh right, her. Finally looking up at the white Shutmon, Syre gave a blink, folded her paper shut, and gave a smile. "-a-as they're trying to better assess how walk-ins can handle a job. With a license you could sign up for stuff in advance... um..."
Yup. This was awkward, and Syre's expression definitely showed it. Was she supposed to introduce herself, say something, do something? Or was she just supposed to act like a stranger? Her uncertainty turned to stuttering and inaction...

Silence's ears flicked again and the shutmon shifted to look towards the bulletin. So she just... would take a job number, go up to the desk and sign up for the job? The sign up nonsense hadn't been a thing here for a few months? That seemed a bit odd to her and she wasn't sure why. She'd scratch at the back of her neck and flick her tail to one side seeming somewhat out of sorts; but by no right to the same degree as syre was.
"Seems a bit odd if you ask me, little ass backwards but what can you do..."
But then the blackgatomon continued, folding up that paper. The shutmon would return the smile with a grin, though as the other nervously stuttered out the last bit... It was obvious that silence had interrupted some train of thought. Well nothing that introducing herself wouldn't fix, so she'd offer a paw and a big ass grin.
"Well hopefully I can handle the jobs just fine. Knowin' that a license makes it so I can sign up for stuff in advance is handy. What's yer name? Mine's Silence. You from around here?"
The nagging feeling in her gut that the shutmon knew this person honestly wasn't helping either. She knew for a fact that there was no one in rosewood that was like this, so the question pushed itself forward at least in her mind to where she would of known this cat from! Was it from a prior life? Or perhaps the previous iteration just happened to know a blackgatomon well enough to give her this sensation. Regardless of the actual answer it'd be extremely rude to bring that up on a first meeting of all places!

Oh, no, introducing herself wouldn't fix it. In fact, introducing herself probably made it about ten times worse, Syre's eyes giving a brief, vacant look as that hand was presented out to her with that big, welcoming smile.
Syre knew - she could tell just from this Shutmon's data signal. But should she say something? Break the news right here? N-no, there was no way she could do that. Calm down, Syre. Calm down. You've never met her. Be polite.
"... I'm Syre." After a moment, she actually did manage to right herself, smiling as she took Silence's hand, giving it a small shake. "I'm not from around here in particular, though this is the mission guild I use. Though I'll eventually be doing everything out of the Snowpoint office." She was polite enough with her answer.
"How about you? Its rare to see an ultimate who doesn't know how the guild works."

Honestly how would silence know that? She didn't know the prior connection even if something seemed pretty darned familiar. Her friendly demeanor hopefully would ease tensions, but even if it didn't well... She could at least just be friendly there was nothing that would stop that. Well unless she got attacked by this cat but she doubted that was even a possibility given the nature of their interactions thus far. The nervousness, or at least what she attributed to nervousness was palatable. The grin that split her face widened a bit and the shutmon gave the other a firm shake, pulling her hand back to scratch at the side of her head.
"Pleasure to meet'cha syre."
Syre. Why did that name seem familiar? It was a nagging sensation in the back of her head, what on earth could it be? She didn't know anyone by this name... maybe she had heard it in the paper at some point? Yeah that probably was the case. If she did something worth nothing it'd be in there somewhere, especially in a town where any news was good news.
"Snowpoint? Up in the north yeah? Why so far out there?"
The shutmon tilted her head, she wasn't pressing for information more just curious about about the vast change in scenery. She chalked it up to the Blackgatomon wanting a change of pace but... there could be other reasons too.
Silence blinked however when Syre directed a question towards her! Was it really that rare to see an ultimate that didn't know how the guilds work? She'd let out a small chuckle and muck with her goggles a little bit, that toothy grin not leaving for a moment.
"I'm from rosewood. We don't have a mission guild proper there and my parents didn't really explain all too well. I've only been an ultimate for a couple days now I think."
A firm shrug of the shoulders and the shutmon looked about. Noting the bulliten board up on the wall she'd grin a bit wider. Honestly if people didn't know better she was part cheshire cat! Sure the shutmon had been directed to where it was, but knowing the exact location helped a lot...
"How long you been doin missions for these guys? Few years? Yah seem pretty settled in if you ask me."

Well, at least this was going the way of normal conversation. Why so far up north? Syre mulled her answer for a moment. "No particular reason other than that I'm moving up there with the family. We've been renting out a place for a while so this is a good chance for us." That, and having inherited her mom's 'genes', Syre figured the cold might actually be a comfortable fit up there!
It was a fine question - and she learned a bit about Silence as well. She was from Rosewood (Syre knew that much, that's where the egg was left), and they probably didn't have a mission guild building properly set up there yet. Maybe they only had a notice board? "Hm... well, congratulations on your new form, I suppose. But you already look quite comfortable in it - I get antsy if I stay in my ultimate for over an hour." Syre gave a chuckle, tilting her head at the last question.
"Um, two years now. I guess you could say I'm-"
"Syre?"
"Excuse me, just a second." Syre gave a nod, getting up to head up to the desk, where the Guardromon gave her a newly laminated license - that black mark on it now gone, the cat giving a smile at the sight - before putting it back away in her glove. From there, the cat could have easily just said her goodbyes and moved on out to do her own business...
... But she decided to stick around.
"Heh. A license is a nice thing to get if you can. Once you do a few jobs they might offer you it to see you around more often. Apparently it depends on how well you're recommended?" Syre wasn't trying to brag, here, just giving the wolf some good info!

In fairness as far as conversations went it would be rather normal, it's not like silence was as strange individual with odd views or a different sort of vibe than most that would come from a peaceful small town. The wolf shifted lightly on her feet, taking the information that the cat gave her. So they had been renting out a home and were just simply moving, simple enough of an answer but she couldn't help but ask...
"A chance huh? That's good, hopefully it'll pay off for you all. Was renting out a place stressful or something?"
Her head tilted lightly and the wolf leaned against the wall, watching the cat somewhat curiously. So the other felt odd being in ultimate for longer than an hour? She'd look down at her hands, the rather big digits of this form flexing lightly.
"I want to say that it's probably because of whoever I was before really. I don't know much about her, just that she was really strong and well traveled. So I probably inherited some of that power. That or I'm just lucky as hell."
Silence knew she was another mon's reiteration. It was a somewhat bitter knowledge, she also knew a few things about the mon's life throughout the dreams she had. Nothing concrete as of yet, there were a few places she'd need to visit to make sure that she wasn't just a dreamer dreaming things that weren't true...
"Huh? Oh. Yeah all right."
Silence gave a little wave of her hand and folded her arms, watching the cat walk up to the desk. She'd muse lightly to herself, was she capped out at this level? Was this as far as she went? Could she get stronger still? Was this the level that the one wolf would want to see her in? She knew very little about where the knights kept themselves and with a brief tsk she'd bite her lower lip in thought. She was actually fairly certain she could get stronger but she wasn't sure how that'd go about...
Once syre came back from getting her new license however the wolf's smile quickly returned. This one was certainly friendly and sociable. Perhaps she could see them around here more often before the other moved out to snowpoint...
"Hmm. Well if that's the case I'll probably want to make a good impression on a few folks. I don' think it'll be that hard but... world's a big place."
Silence's eyes rested on that bulletin board and she'd bite her lip again. There was an odd chance that she could ask the cat to do one with her... Her ears flicked forward and the wolf looked down to the cat.
"How bout this, wanna help me pick out somethin? An' if you're up to it we could do said 'somethin'. No hard feelin's iffin you don't feel up to it."
Silence probably shouldn't mention another reason, she couldn't get it out of her head that she knew this person and honestly she wanted to figure it out. Having the cat around would probably help a bit...

"Heh, less stressful and more cramped. We just need a place with more space." A simple enough answer, and a truthful one - the Library had enough foot traffic and noise that it made it hard to just 'chill out' at times. Besides, considering everything else, they could use a good change of pace.
And yeah - yeah, mom was ridiculously strong. K was also a default Shutmon, so it made sense that her reincarnation was quite comfortable in this form - though this thought was simply met with a small nod. "Maybe a bit of both?" She didn't dwell on it for long, no reason to. And fortunately, she got a small break from that conversation to level herself back out.
License in hand, Syre listened to Silence's proposition. Go out on a mission with her? The cat blinked, and mulled it over: "Um... hm." She really only came here to get her license, but considering everything? "Not going to make any promises, but why don't we at least see what they have up there?"

"Well that's good that you're gettin a larger place then. My parents had a room for each of us so it wasn't too bad."
Silence rubbed at her neck and tried to imagine what a smaller household would be like if they had more people. The shutmon folding her arms and rubbing thoughtfully at her chin. There was a soft huff and she'd turn her head to the blackgatomon, looking the other over as they gave their 'answer' to her statement about being strong or just lucky.
"Both seems just as reasonable yeah..."
Silence chuckled lightly and honestly that little break of the conversation helped the shutmon focus a bit more. Her piercing blue eyes resting on that bulliten board. She'd consider lightly what she could take. A lot of them would probably be smaller stuff that wouldn't take too long... The shutmon flicked an ear as the other mulled over her request.
"No hard feelin's either way. Bet your a busy cat!"
The shutmon chuckled a little bit and with a small gesture indicated the other should follow her. Stepping rather quickly over to the board she'd stand there with her arms crossed, one hand resting on her chin as she scanned the postings. Some of these were... super easy. Protecting some scientist out in the forest while they collected samples from some plants... another one that was just running expensive parcels from place to place. Some gig up in a place called luminas with bodyguards, the last one that she noted was something in... Terminus. With a boatload of supplies being transported they needed guards? All of these seemed... well lame to her. At least in some vein.
"Lot of 'safe' Quests it seems... "

Well, it wasn't a lie. Syre could be quite a busy BlackGatomon!
It didn't take long for the two to head up to the bulletin board, and... hm. There wasn't really anything here within Syre's paygrade - most of the stuff here was just requests for additional labor, nothing that would pay more than one would expect for an honest day's work. Several guarding jobs, delivery runs, and the like. Was there anything of merit to be had?
Another scan revealed that there really wasn't, and the BlackGatomon gave a sigh. The most interesting thing her was: "... If you want, we could do this one. Head out, set up some netting to keep the swimming area by the beaches free of the feral water Digimon?" That was about as good as Syre could describe it.
Though, honestly: "If not, I can just take your number or something, and we can meet back up when a more substantial mission comes in."

Honestly none of those jobs really spoke to silence, her finger tracing along the papers. Her face turning into a small frown, a lot of them really just... were far too easy and didn't feel like they deserved a spot here? She had thought the mission guild would have some really dangerous quests! The shutmon shifted and tilted her head as she heard that sigh, her ears flicking to better hear the blackgatomon.
"Seems pretty standard, and it'd keep swimmers safe."
Silence mused lightly and leaned to look at the job posting, her eyes locking onto the paper. Reading over the details, with a hum she'd shake her head just a little bit. It was far too simple really but... She couldn't be too picky right? Though there was the fact that they could wait for another one to come in. The shutmon rubbed her chin thoughtfully.
"None of these are really speaking to me. Like 'ooo take this one' sort of thing. It might be better to check in some other time. And uh... Number? Like registry number or something?"
Silence looked rather confused for a moment, she didn't know what the blackgatomon meant by number! Then again being in such a small town she could always go and find the people she wanted to talk to so she never had a reason for a phone before...

The Shutmon's disappointment could be read right across her face. She spoke with no interest in the job about the swimming net, just merely saying that it 'sounded useful' in a few more words. To that, the BlackGatomon just gave a nervous chuckle and scratched the back of her head.
Yeah, it was probably better a Divermon or something handled that anyway.
"Well, to be fair, its a good sign when the load is light. It means things are handled and going smoothly - which is what this guild is trying to do anyway?" Syre reasoned, giving a half shrug - blinking as Silence tried to figure out what Syre meant by a number. "... Um... wait, do you not have a phone? Like, a D-Terminal?"
Sheesh - even old-timey mom knew what a phone was! The BlackGatomon couldn't help but hide a chuckle behind her paw. "B-but really, you should look into one. You can keep in touch with the mission guild much easier with it..."

The shutmon drew her hand back away from the mission, finding herself frowning for a moment before rubbing at her chin. If this mission guild didn't have anything really... maybe some of these other cities had some? Luminas. Terminus. Rustport... She could go to any of them, she wasn't restricted from going places! She'd mumble lightly and tap her temple thoughtfully.
"I might go to these other places and see what sorts of jobs they have. Never been to any of them so it'll be a treat I'd say."
The shutmon huffed a bit and turned her head. The reasoning that syre had made sense and it was a good thing that things weren't crazy. But she couldn't get rid of this sensation that she was supposed to be doing more now.
"I ah... Don't know what those are."
The shutmon felt her face turn a little red as the other chuckled behind her paw. A lot of the stuff around rosewood was behind on the times as it was trying to catch up to the other cities from what she heard. A lot of things that were commonplace were either rare or unheard of. Her parents had shown her tablets and other bits of technology but she didn't know there was mass communication devices!
"But if it helps me keep in contact with the guild a bit easier for quests or other people like yourself I suppose getting one wouldn't hurt! Where can I get one?"
The shutmon shifted a bit and fidgeted with her leather armor, right about where she kept her bit pouch. She was flat out ready to get something like that and spend a good portion of the afternoon divining it's secrets!
