A Unpainted Bench [Justice]

Justice only shrugged his shoulders in response to Palicae’s concern about his eating habits. As a college student, it was a fairly common habit for him to go each day eating only one meal, whether it’d be breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Sure he had food in his dorm, it was one of the positives that his study abroad program offered compared to other programs. But with his field of study, he would often be gone for hours at a time, working on labs with other students in his field. Once he got home, he would make sure Vee and Gummy were situations with their needs, and then retire for the night. College essentially turned him into a workaholic.
The young man looked with sympathy as Palicae explained the reason why she lived by herself. Both her parents work for pharmaceutical, being so busy that they never come home. In order to get closer to their job, they bought another place, leaving Palicae alone here. Knowing a similar feeling, a part of him wanted to snap, but he quickly quelled it through.
“Do they always call to check up on you?” Justice asked. “It’s the very least they can do for not spending time with you.”
That’s all he could say on the manner. As wrong as it was, he didn’t want to continue on the manner if it was too uncomfortable for Palicae to further engage. Besides, he was a guest here and he didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable in her own home.
She then asked Justice if wanted either beef, chicken or pork on his noodles. “I'm good with beef and chicken.” Justice took a seat on the floor, crossing his legs, waiting until she gets done. Looking into the kitchen, Palicae was cooking fast, like really fast, way faster than any culinary chef that he saw on T.V.
It’s almost like she was inhuman.
“When you did you learn how to cook like that? I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone cook so fast and efficiently.”

Palicae rubbed her neck as the other waited for her; looking on with sympathy that she wasn’t sure that she deserved. Her life was padded and comfortable but it didn’t feel like she earned any of it which she hated without a doubt! It was so frustrating that she was given all of this and never seemed to be of her own effort; just her parents own money and their own desires heaped on her without actually checking things over.
She stared down at her cooking utensils as he inquired if they checked back on her. She’d slowly shake her head and sigh, her shoulders sagging a little bit. What sort of answer could she give him that would make this all make sense? And wouldn’t make her look like she was pining for pity or something. She’d grumble to herself and flip over some of the beef as it had browned quite well already.
”When I was younger yes. Round the time I was six or seven they’d call pretty frequently. After my grandparents moved in across the street they stopped calling and eventually they just stopped coming home too. I haven’t seen them in person in over three years now.”
The woman shrugged a bit and when he gave her the answer of what he wanted she’d nod, adding in more beef and starting up another pan for the chicken. She moved at a pretty unholy speed. Her hands almost blurs. She’d freeze however when he asked her where she learned how to cook like this. She looked down at her hands and frown to herself before resuming.
”I’ve been cooking for myself since I was ten. Had to learn the hard way in a lot of different places. Lots of upset stomachs and what not. Took some cooking lessons from someone at the mart downtown. They’re all about efficiency and getting the food out so…”
Her inhuman speed was definitely pushing the bounds of her holosuit and there was a small flicker where her hands were. She’d halt at that and growl to herself, she was just happy to have someone here that she could talk to yes but they’d freak out if they saw her like that! She had to control herself!
”So these kids that are part of your dorm. What’s their names? If you know em.”

Three years. What kind of shitty parents made the choice to not contact, or even visit their own daughter in that long? They think just because Palicae’s grandparents live across the street that means they could just spontaneously cut contact with their daughter? Justice couldn’t help but scoff in disgust. Just because you have a high-paying career preparing medicine people is no excuse for just ditching your own kid. Those types of parents to him were just scum. Nothing more. Nothing less
And he had a parent that fit that description...if he was still alive that is.
Asking how Palicae manage to cook like that, she answered that she’s been cooking since she was ten, which made Justice raised his tired eyes in surprise.
“Man,” Justice replied. “You must really like to cook since you started so early. Unfortunately for me, I only know the bare minimums of the cooking. I can only make breakfast things like pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs on the stove. I don’t dare mess with the oven since I’m afraid if I do, the whole thing’s gonna catch on fire.”
Admittedly he wanted to learn how to cook even more, but his mom unfortunately thought it was the bright idea to put his education first instead of teaching him basic necessities such as cooking for instant. And everytime he did try to learn how to make something, she would always berate him, saying either she’s about to cook or she just didn’t want him touching the stove, much to his annoyance.
But now that he’s on his own, in a different country nonetheless, he had all the freedom to learn how to cook, but only settled on learning how to make breakfast stuff since it would last him until the evening hours. But now that he had two Digimon with insatiable appetites, he’s gonna how to cook more than just breakfast things than settling on fast food.
When asked about those “kids” apart of his dorm, Justice started to sweat nervously. Even if he did suspect that she’s afflicted with Digimon, he did not want her to know that he was a Tamer. He just wanted to be seen as a normal college student for just one night instead of some quote-on-quote “hero.”
“Uhhhh of course I know ‘em! I practically see ‘em everyday. Their names are-um...Veer and Gunnar. They’re twin brothers, with Veer being the oldest by a minute. Veer’s the most optimistic one, happily greeting everyone that comes his way. He treats everyone like his friend, even to those he doesn’t know. He’s always looking out for his brother and little homies, wanting to make sure they’re ok. He’s like a child therapist.”
Justice sighed. “Gunnar on the hand is incredibly flippant, casually mouthing off to even the biggest of kids, and he genuinely enjoys showing off and taunting people he doesn’t like as often as he can. Naturally he would often get into fights—some with his brother, other times with other people. But deep down, he has a kind heart, just has a funny way of showing it.”
A tired smile came across his face, though he kept his gaze at the ceiling as he leaned back comfortably. “Those two are like the Ying-Yan of each other, yet they play off each other so well.”

”More I was getting tired of kraft mac n cheese, potatoes in sleeves and quick fix meals.”
The young woman shook her head and made a little face, though she was keeping her attention for the most part on the food she was preparing. The meat was already sizzling, the noodles were already cooking and… was she cracking eggs? What were those going to be used for?
”Well I can tell yah, there’s plenty of people you can learn how to cook from. My grandparents taught me after they learned that I was learning from someone down in the mart. Place is still around but the cooks not.”
The disguised digimon gave a shrug and stared down at the food for a moment, before getting back to it. She’d pause and turn her head as he explained how he knew them, what their names were… Which prompted an eyebrow raise. Veer and Gunnar? Both of those were fairly strange names… so their parents must of been foreigners.
”They both sound like a handful. How long have you been taking care of them?”
Palicae knew that look, knew that lean. Knew what it meant when someone talked about kids, adopted or not. She felt her heart go out to this guy that was in her kitchen, watching her cook. Heck she could already feel like she wanted to meet these kids if it turned out to be a real deal and not some smoke.
”Heh. Charming I’m sure, I bet the both of them appreciate what’s being done for them. How done do you like your beef?”
It wouldn’t take much longer for the food to be done, a good fifteen or twenty minutes later and the bowls of ramean would be in front of the both of them. Proper meals that quickly had glasses put next to them.
”So whatcha drink? Juice? Milk? Soda?”
The young woman was now standing by the fridge, one hand on the handle and the other on her hip. Like she was ready and waiting to get this going. She figured that after he ate he'd probably want to sleep too...

For a second, Justice started to internally panic as the young woman raised an eyebrow at the fake names he came up for Vee and Gummy. It was clear that he wasn't the best when it came to making up names, especially when it came to hiding his Digimon in a meticulous manner. Since they started living with him, he'd had to tell his RA time and time again that he was on party chat playing a game so they wouldn't suspect he had someone living in his dorm. He was sure to get a written citation if he did. But luckily for him, Palicae believed him, much to his relief.
"I've been taking care of them for I'd say about two months so far," he answered. "Hell, it's how long I've been here in Japan. "It was real unexpected, but after much consideration, I decided to take them under my wing, taking care of them and helping them make their own discoveries. They can't get enough of me I tell ya."
He laughed to himself, which quickly surprised him. It has been a while since he made a real, genuine laugh that wasn't fake or anything; it caught him off guard. Was spending a lot of time with Vee and Gummy slowly changing him, or was it simply enjoying his conversation with Palicae, or both? He wasn't certain, but he disregarded it. All that mattered was that he was enjoying himself.
Pal then asked how would he like his beef done. "Oh, medium rare." It would take a couple of minutes before the ramen was in front of them. Drooling in awe, Justice quickly grabbed the chopsticks. Before he dug in, she asked what kind of drink he wanted, which he responded with juice. After that, he blew the noodles about six times before placing it in his mouth. The rich, inciting flavors hit him like a freight train.
"HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE BEST RAMEN I HAD IN LIKE, EVER!" Justice exclaimed. His tired eyes now gleamed with life as he went back in and tried the steak, the richness and juicy exploding in his mouth. "It's like I died and went to flavor heaven!"
He looked up to Pal. "If there was a goddess of noodles that existed, my money would totally be on you!"

Pal blinked a bit as the other explained about the two that were living in his dorm; or at least were getting taken care of by the young man. She’d shift and take a seat, poking at her own food as he did so. They were likely just kids that honestly needed someone to guide them and if justice was the one doing it the young woman couldn’t really come up with a good reason why he shouldn’t. Didn’t seem like he was being dumb about it either.
It was easy for her to make his beef medium rare, if anything it just meant her own food took a little more to cook. She was more a medium sort of gal when it came to meat… Though she didn’t mind rare. There was something odd about that; enticing even. With the response being juice she’d pour him a glass and serve some to herself.
Though with his exclamation she nearly dropped the damn jug and sighed a bit before putting it down onto the counter. She’d grin slightly and shake her head. Some people were easily pleased? Her cooking wasn’t that good…
”I’m glad you think so.”
Though he continued to fan praise on her; calling her a goddess of noodles which prompted the red head’s face to turn a light shade of red and she couldn't help but mumble and eat some of her own noodles. It was oddly endearing and she’d avoid looking at him for a moment before huffing.
”They could be a bit better… I’m lacking some spices and stuff i normally use… But uh… thanks..”
Another shake of the head and she’d set into her food, staying mostly quiet as she did. Though her eyes flicked from her food to her guest from time to time. What could she say other than thank you? Could she get into what she did with it? Or maybe something else? She didn’t really do conversation topics all too well... Probably due to the fact she didn't have much to talk about.
That and talking about how you were now this robotic dinosaur dragon thing wasn't really something you wanted to tell new company!

"No problem." Justice responded before he went right back into the noodles. He wasn't kidding with what he said; they really were the best noodles they ever had. He felt like after this, it would be very hard for him to even go back to the microwavable ramen packets, even if they were the last things he had in his kitchen. It's been so long since he had a home-cooked meal. It's actually one of the few things he missed back home in the States. Maybe stepping his toes into the culinary arts wasn't a bad thing.
For a minute or two, things were silent on both ends. It seems Palicae wasn't very good with starting conversation. Neither was Justice himself. But before he retire for the night, he had to talk about something else that didn't regard himself, no way he was gonna talk about what his life back then was like. Too many bad memories. The only thing that's been on his mind was that "incident" a week ago.
"So..." he began. "Have you heard about those string of attacks last week during Golden Week? I mean the news have been talking about it nonstop since then, debating whether or not those Digimon are really friendly or not. Hell it's even a big debate around the campus I go to. Some are saying they're dangerous and never should integrate with us, while others are saying the opposite. I mean, I really don't have opinion on either side. I'd rather meet them first hand before coming up with one, assuming they don't rip me apart that is."

The silence was something she appreciated. Something that gave her time to think a little bit. It had been just one thing after the other. She’d pick at her food and it wouldn’t be hard to notice the sheer difference of meat to noodle ratio her own meal had. Then again considering how she was constantly dressed as though she was ready to run or work out it might of been because she needed the protein.
Her eye flicked when he started and she’d shift a bit as he asked about the week prior. This golden week nonsense she knew next to nothing about. She didn’t really remember what happened during that week. She had still been recovering from her death and now new digital form.
But then he talked about digimon; she felt her body shift a bit. She felt that pulse of energy through her body and there was a moment she lost control. That single moment had the fork in her hand snap cleanly in her hands and the tip of it jammed into the table while she was left with the ‘hilt’ of it. She’d blink a few times and sigh, setting it down on the table before shaking her head.
”I don’t really remember much from last week. I was in the hospital for most of it. But...”
What could she say? During the goldenweek a magnamon-x, the very mon she was now… Had killed her by throwing her into a vat of molten metal. Along with falling into the same vat with his victim. She had fused and her stronger spirit had overtaken his. Giving her this nigh impenetrable body…
”I think… that digimon are dangerous. That their very existance is something that could spell disaster for a lot of people. That even the smaller ones are enough to kill someone. If… they were to be allowed in the human world they should be heavily monitored or restricted to the forms that they can take. I’ve heard that they have different levels and it worries me. My grandparents live right across the street and even with that… all it takes is one of these digimon that’s sufficiently pissed off enough and suddenly their house isn’t there. They’re not there. I saw some of the recordings of the peaceful protests. The stuff they were able to do peacefully. Which means that they were limiting themselves.
The ‘human’ pulled out another form and picked at her food, she’d frown softly and slowly shake her head. How was she going to explain this? She had done digging about her own form to find that it was very powerful even for a rookie but…
”If we’re to meet them in a positive manner we need to be the ones setting the terms if they’re going to be in our world. I don’t know if integration is possible seeing as some of them aren’t even… well even biological. Heck what would that even do for the job market?”

While in the middle of his talk, Justice silently noted Palicae's body language-- the way her body shifted uncomfortably and all. Without warning, the fork in her hand suddenly snap cleanly, with the tip becoming jammed into the table in the process. Seeing that made his heart almost skip a beat, but nevertheless he continued until she would give her two cents on the matter.
But still, even when she was talking, he just couldn't stop stop staring at the fork every three -to-four seconds. That fork was made out of sterling silver from the looks of it, a sliver that's usually alloyed with copper to increase its hardness and strength, and all it took was a squeeze from her to completely snap the teeth from the handle. That kind of strength wasn't normal, especially for someone her size. But then again, it does explain how she was able to effortless lift him with little to no problem. He heard of small and skinny people being stronger than they look, but this took it to a whole other level. She possessed some serious strength. Just how strong was she?
"Well, judging how powerful they are, maybe they could take on bodyguard jobs or something?" He suggested. "Either way, from the recordings, they seemed sophisticated and civil. Whatever world they come from must have the same structures of society as we do."
His eyes tiredly darted. "But yeah...I can say some are dangerous, only those that want to abuse their own power against the weak and crush them underfoot when they're through. But so are humans. Throughout history, we've committed wars, genocides, famine, and any other unspeakable atrocities that teachers would leave out in school textbooks. Just because each individual human doesn't have the physical power to commit violent acts doesn't mean we can find any alternatives to compensate, and we've done that. Humans and Digimon are kind of like two sides of the same coin when it comes to that."
Justice then picked at his food, finishing up the last of the noodles and beef before continuing. "But I agree that if Digimon want to live in our world, there has to be some regulations to make sure they don't go bat-shit, maybe they can stay in their cute small forms that make them look like living, breathing plush dolls. I think I saw one of them during Golden Week that looked like a white cat with yellow and red striped gloves on its paws being coddled by some elementary school students. Hehe. By the way they were purring loudly, I think they liked humans."
From his experience with Digimon, Justice knew that Digimon were similar to humans personality-wise; they could laugh, cry, feel happiness or sadness-- anything emotions that humans could feel. Heck, some of them were more emotive than some humans anyway. On top of that, he had two loud-mouthed Digimon with hearts of gold to boot.

Palicae cursed her inability to control her body’s strength. It was something that even her holosuit seemed to struggle with. There were always flickers at the worst times or when the system didn’t seem to cover everything. Noting the gaze of her guest she’d quickly clean up the fork mumbling something about a crack or some nonsense like that. She didn’t know how strong she was truly and she wasn’t sure she wanted to find out.
”Yeah and if they take on jobs as bodyguards then people will just start hiring others for assassinations and then we get the whole weaponizing them for purposes of political nonsense. They basically would become the new nuke that everyone would have access to.”
The mangnamon-x grumbled a little bit and she’d shake her head. It didn’t take her long to finish her own food as she listened to the other talk. He sounded like he knew them. He sounded like he knew about them. More so than what he was letting on. The magnamon-x twirled her fork around a few times and then sighed.
”Yeah and it seems like your partners have made a good impression on you if you think that way. Don’t play coy with me justice; most people our age seem to run into them and whatnot. I’m not saying that you’re wrong but the world isn’t ready for everyone to have access to such creatures.”
The ‘human’ dug out her digivice and set it on the table. It would sit there, unmoving, unlit and even if fiddled with nothing would happen. The screen was completely black like there would never be light coming from them.
”White cat huh? Gatomon’s are known to be very friendly. They’re basically just walking talking kittens half the time.”
It was late and palicae wasn’t really the sort to bounce around a topic like this. She could tell he knew, all the signs were there and if he didn’t know he was seriously… Well he was seriously well informed about it!
”Do you want the couch itself or the pull out bed by the way? You look about ready to drop.”

Palicae had a point there. Digimon taking up body-guarding jobs as a way of integrating into the human world would be a disaster. Despite them being similar to them personality wise, they didn't think like them. Something that they feel is minuscule for example would be a big deal to humans. And with the way things are right now, the world wasn't ready for that kind of integration. Maybe when it got its shit together and civil and political unrest cease and finally start focusing on the future would they probably be ready.
Before Justice could give his additional two cents on the subject, Palicae went into her pockets, placing what was revealed to be a digivice, and preconize that he had partners from his stance on the manner alone.
Justice paused for a moment, blinking, his brows lowering in confusion at the accusation. "Partners?" he repeated. "You mean like...allies or something?" His body started to tense from his seat. Dammit he shouldn't had brought up Golden Week! Now she's on to him. This is what happens when he gets too comfortable around a person, he reveals too much about himself that would make someone raise an eyebrow about him. Not only that, he now knew that she was a Tamer, and probably expecting him to take out his Digivice as well. He sighed heavily; there was no point in continuing to hide it any longer.
"Well... fuck...you caught me." He said in a non-enthusiastic tone, which turned into a mumble. "Guess I said too much."
He really thought that Palicae was the first friend that wasn't associated with Digimon. Was it too much to ask to meet a new friend that was not caught up in the Tamer business? He thought that he could keep up in his lie for a little bit longer, but for some reason, he felt that around her, he couldn't. Just looking at her, he could feel the urge to just be truthful to her for some reason.
The young man fully expected her partner to pop out of her digivice, greeting him and probably asking why he had a dark skin tone--it's the first question all Digimon had for him anyway, but nothing came out of her Digivice. He wondered why.
But at last, Justice was too tired to even ask. He took off his glasses and rubbed his eyes. It was getting late, and the fact that he was still up despite not having sleep for 24 hours was nothing short of a miracle. He should've been knocked out a long time ago. Palicae then asked what he will sleep on: the couch or the pull-out bed.
"I'll take the pull-out bed." He answered, yawning heavily. "I don't really do well with couches to be honest."

Palicae leaned back in her chair and looked to the cieling. Honestly all of his suggestions were sound and all of his wants seemed in the right place. He wasn’t meaning ill and well… The magnamon-x didn’t really think that everyone was ready; was it right to force that sort of thinking to someone? She’d sigh softly and shake her head. As he seemed to try to deflect her assumptions she could tell she had him panicked.
”Look it’s fine… it’s fine.”
Palicae waved her hand a bit and shook her head. She knew that he didn’t want to but why was she pushing so much. He thought that he said too much but honestly… ever since going to the digital world… well. She had that feeling and she’d bite her lip. Staring down at her digivice before just stuffing it back into her pocket. No light. No reaction. No real digimon popping out. To her it was just a piece of junk; never going to be used.
Her partner had killed her.
And the digital world had lashed out at him for it. Forcing them together forever. She’d grit her teeth and just shook her head again.
”You didn’t say too much, just people that have been there have this look or want for peace with them and I can’t honestly blame them. But… that’s besides the point. You didn’t come here to talk about them, you came here to relax and I sort of ruined that for you. Well. You don’t have to worry about me forcing the subject. I live here and if you want to at least forget or something you can at least use this place to do so. My grandparents will be happy to see me actually hanging out with someone around my age.”
She’d glance at the pull out bed. Why did she ask him if he wanted to sleep on the couch or the pull out bed when they had actual beds for guests? Guest rooms even! She’d shake her head and rub at her face. Staying in the holosuit for too long was making her jittery it seemed!
”Right. Sorry. We have guest rooms too. I keep forgetting that since I never have guests. I can show you where they are if you want?”
She needed some time to herself, some time to recharge. Something to do that was in her ‘natural’ form. One that she could likely just pace or do something that’d let her relax. She glanced at the fridge and frowned. Maybe she could go shopping and get some more food… breakfast wouldn’t be too long away for everyone right?

"Well since you said it like that, then I be happy to meet your old folks." Justice replied, relived that his new friend decided to drop the topic. After dealing with the not-so friendly DATS, who threatened to delete his Digimon even after thwarting the Golden Week attacks from escalating, to having accidentally traveling to an alternate dimension, he just wanted to have a break from his other life as a Tamer. I mean who wouldn't? People like Alan and Colin practically made it their lives, but him? His future was a bit more important than playing hero.
Palicae told him that instead of sleeping on the pull out bed in the living room, he could sleep in the guest room. Hearing that, Justice let out another yawn. "That's cool, though I really have no preference. Hell, if you asked me to sleep on the floor, I wouldn't mind as long as you give me a blanket or pillow."
Justice put his arms above his head in a causal manner. He'd only know Palicae for about an hour- a stranger, and she was so generous to feed him and provide him a place to sleep for the night. He'd never encounter anyone like that back in the States. Looking at her, he could tell from her hazel blue eyes that she was lonely. She had this whole house, which is beautiful, and not a single soul lives here other than herself. Remembering her offer on that unpainted bench, maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to move in with her.
She was in need of a friend; someone to connect to, and he wouldn't mind to be her first.
A noise came from the front door, distracting Justice from his thoughts. Looking at it, something glowing slithered its way from underneath the door to the entrance. Approaching it, Justice's eyes widen as he figured out what it was: his D-Watch.
"Uh oh..." was all he could say before a orange and blue beams of data formed in front of him, taking the shape of a scarf wearing Veemon and a goggle wearing Gumdramon before completely materializing.
It was his two partnered Digimon : Vee and Gummy--both brothers. Looking into their tired eyes, they were in an extremely grumpy mood.
"You guys?!" Justice said in a startled tone. "How in the hell did you guys get here?"
"You do realize Gummy sense of smell is impeccable, right?" Vee spoke up, stretching his arms. "Now would about you? I thought you be home by ten-thirty?"
"I said I'd be back later."
"I assumed you back later. If you came back at all, you'd be back 'later.'"
"I don't care; I'm just here because Vee dragged me." Gummy said, yawing. "It took me so long to pick up your scent that my nose is practically dead. You've been going up, down, left, and right all over the place that we were hitting dead end after dead end. Man you wouldn't believe it "
The twins then looked at Palicae, tilting their heads. "Who's the human? Are you two on a date or something?" Gummy asked.
Justice immediately turned red in response, and covered the purple drake's mouth out of embarrassment. "Dude! Don't say stuff like that!" He turned to Palicae. "Uhh Pal. Remember those children I told you earlier? Veer and Gunner? I was sort of half telling the truth. These are my Digimon--the Veemon's Vee, and the Gumdramon's Gummy. They're brothers if you can't tell.

”Oh yeah. Uh. They’ll probably be visiting tomorrow in fact. Though I can always wave them off.
Palicae rubbed at her neck and shook her head. She wasn’t sure what she was doing now; or what she was saying. She felt all over the place but it was just… such a strange situation. She was okay with a lot of things and well… Justice seemed like a good guy. Even if he was a bit rough on his luck. Or at least rough on his luck in her eyes.
”Oh c’mon I’d rather be the one sleeping on the floor before making a guest do so.”
Palicae waved off that suggestion even and she’d fold her hands in front of her. She had long finished her own meal and well.. She looked a bit pensive. She’d tilt her head as she too heard that noise from the front door. She’d stand to go look but she wouldn’t get far before there was two mons in front of her.
One was a purple dinosaur of some sort and the other was…
The other.
The other was reminiscent of the being that had killed her, a younger iteration, some alternate evolution? She felt her breath come in a short way and her hands were already moving before she could even think. She didn’t even hear the teasing, she didn’t even hear the words between the two of them save for the last part. She just stared at vee. A knife in her hand, one of those smaller ones. Nothing big; nothing large. It was a small little durable knife. The sort you knew that if someone had them they weren’t trying to intimidate people.
But Justice snapped her out of it and palicae put a hand to her head; gritting her teeth. She knew that justice had partners; she knew that they were mons. What she didn’t expect was one of them to be literally part of the family that killed her.
”Twins huh? So that’s what it’s called… I haven’t seen a veemon or a Gumdramon before or even seen a mon that was twins. And no. We’re not really… On a date? Erm. I guess you could call it that if you really wanted. Given we had a walk, a chat and then we ate together. Nice to meet you uh… oh.”
Palicae looked down at her hand and frowned as she could tell that she had been quick to react. She’d sigh and slide the knife back in it’s holder that she had taken . To the other two there was that distinct signal of a digimon. It was small, there and… strangely not alternating. It was strong, steady and powerful even if it was just at rookie.
”...Well we do have enough empty rooms for the three of you if you prefer sleeping in separate beds.”

Justice in his mind knew that his two Digimon would eventually come looking for him. It wasn't like them to be at one place for too long, especially at his dorm. Though with the little time he had to himself, the time where for once, he could be by himself with someone his age, it was a nice change of pace. But that doesn't mean he didn't miss them though. The dragon brothers had quickly wormed their way into his life and it was rare that the three didn't spend at least part of the day together in one way or another as friends and partners. Though sometimes, he needs a little space, and so do they.
"Nice to meet'cha, Palicae!" Vee chirped. "Any friend of Justice is a friend of mine." He only noticed at the last second that the human girl was staring at him, with a knife in hand. He didn't give her a negative eye, seeing as though they were in her kitchen and judging by the inciting aroma, her and Justice had to have made something to eat.
Gummy meanwhile snapped his fingers in disappointment hearing as the two were not technically dating. "Well...I'll take that half right answer. Though if you two were actually dating, I would have told Specs that he'd hit the jackpot, but that'll be me actually admitting that he's cool and not a nerd."
Justice didn't even bother to respond, merely raising an hand as he was too tired to retaliate back. He turned to Pal, who stated that she had enough guest rooms to accommodate all three of them if they choose to.
"All three of us will share a room. We're use to sleeping together. Besides, better that we mess up one room than three." Vee responded, chuckling.
From what they've seen so far, the twins could tell that Palicae was a really nice person. However since coming here, they dectected a digital signal, but it was it was fluctuating from small, almost non-existent, to a bit powerful. Assuming it was just another Tamer's Digimon, they didn't bring it up.
