She felt great, all things considered, and she was more than eager to finally be out of the cold! So to answer the nagging questions the others asked, Birdie let out chirps and whistles to confirm that she was, in fact, excited. She could've said anything and her tiny form would've prevented anyone from fully understanding, but this was probably for the best, anyway. If she could speak, these fools wouldn't have been so eager to help. That didn't matter now, though. They were so close to their destination! The tiny Puwamon sped up, clearly in a hurry to get into the city sooner rather than later. And yet, as her feathered form crossed the threshold, a wave of energy launched her backwards. Birdie squeaked in pain and panic as she skidded across the snow's surface like a pebble beginning skipped across a still pond. After a few milliseconds, she found herself buried under a thick layer of snow. She emerged from her icy tomb with a grunt. Even after all that, she still held tight to the digivice. Out of pure stubbornness and a rage that stemmed from the city's unwillingness to allow her entry, Birdie tried again. She let out a loud, sharp chirp before launching herself forward, racing past her guardians, and leaping toward the city streets. To no one's surprise, the city rejected her advances and launched her backwards once more.

There were still a lot of questions that Mae held regarding this Puwamon. Why were they alone? Who would leave them alone...? There was much about the situation here that Mae did not exactly know, and much she was soon about to learn as they got to the entrance to the Ancient City.
For all of Kenny's hyping up of Ys? It made it very awkward as the CITY ITSELF rejected what appeared to be a baby from it's confines. More than once. "What in..." She uttered quietly. Why?
"...Explain." She stated. Concise. Firm. That was the main shift in Mae's tone of voice. The city couldn't just do that willy nilly right?

It wasn't hard for any of the three to ignore just how excited the Puwamon was to finally get into the warm adobe that was Ys. But who could blame them at this point? Those happy chirps told them just enough to get the message across. At least they wouldn't have to starve alone, in the cold, blistering snow, and-
Wait, what was going on?
In a matter of moments, that brief sense of elation would find itself stopped dead in it's tracks, as the barrier had easily sent the Puwamon literally flying, back into the snow inside. No-one dared to interfere with the hapless In-Training's futile attempts to cross the barrier. At least, until Mae spoke up to the rest of them. And needless to say, Kenny fell silent for a moment. Odin could only tap his feathers together, and Skadi gazed at the Puwamon worryingly.
"Uh... to be honest with you, Mae, we're not really sure what's going on with the barrier right now." The hapless man finally spoke up, "It's supposed to keep out hostile and dangerous individuals, but last I checked, that Puwamon's nowhere near dangerous. Or hostile. Just a little moody and hangry. I think that earlier outburst against us erroneously made the barrier think she was a threat or something."
Of course, neither Kenny, Skadi, or Odin knew of what happened earlier; how Birdie essentially lost her shit over her missing Digivice to her tamer, how she treated her own tamer like trash and wantonly tossed herself onto a pedestal over the others, much to said tamer's dismay. And how both Tetsu and Gryz threw up their arms, said 'screw it', and used the home portal to the barrier to send Birdie away to the Shining Seas, courtesy of a simple punt from the mighty Baihumon.
It wasn't fun being the dark about this.
Cue the next best thing; "Hold on a second, I need to ask my teammates about this." He said, pulling out his D-Nexus before typing away a message. The moment he hit send, the rest of KIZNA would receive a message from the tamer, with a pretty particular question. And something Tetsu and Gryz would probably know the answer to, even if the three didn't know it at the time.
DrMothman: hi guys we're trying to get this weird puwamon thru the barrier but it wont let her in whats going on

The Puwamon was nothing more than a screaming, bouncing puffball. She was throwing a tantrum and cursing insults at the city in her own high-pitched, unintelligent way. Electricity coursed through her tiny form, causing not only her tail to spark, but also the feathers on her body to zap with energy. The shock was enough to make her stop chirping for a brief moment, but after huffing in irritation and shaking her head, she was back at it again. Screeching. Throwing herself against the barrier. Angrily bounding in circles outside city walls. All the while, Mae, Kenny, Skadi, and Odin wondered what the cause could be. The leading theory seemed to be that the city was confused because the Puwamon was cold, hungry, and moody. It was a glitch in the system, an oversight by the programmers, an overreaction by the city. Kenny, unsure what else to do, contacted the other KIZNA members for assistance, but there was no telling if anyone could offer any useful information. Though Tetsu and Gryz knew what was going on with Birdie and were members of KIZNA, there was no telling if they were aware of the fact that Birdie had devolved when she'd been sent through the portal. Only time would tell.

"You might not be sure, but I know this city. I know the people. I know the barrier can't be malfunctioning. The question is...who -is- this Puwamon?" Mae didn't buy it, to put it simply. Theories raced through the head of the Keramon as she decided to quickly, and quietly digivolve into a higher form.
Meicoomon would probably do. Just any inkling...That would help. Light bathed the Keramon for but a moment as she was replaced by a much more diminutive feline form that promptly shut her eyes, and put her paws to her head. It was probably one of the first times she would ever actually attempt to divine someone's future herself.
The question is, what would she end up seeing in Birdie's?
