Paledramon sighed at he looked at the seals dotted around Terabyte Mountain's peak. They pulsed a gentle blue, looking for all the world like the face of a beast. It leered down at Paledramon just as a predator would ogle its prey. Paledramon tried to look the face of the mountain dead in the eye, but he couldn't maintain the staredown. Even with all of his focus, he felt his head dipping and his eyes slowly drawing closed. The frozen dragon slapped himself across the face just to keep himself awake, muttering a few curses under his breath. Ophelia, Zachary, and Arthur were right. His vigil couldn't hold out much longer.
Thank goodness the angels above had made good on their promise. A golden keyhole opened up next to Paledramon, the dragon squinting as he peered through the light spilling on his face. Bagramon stepped through the keyhole, letting out a muted swear of his own as the brunt of the cold hit him for the first time. He flexed his oaken fingers, trying to bring feeling back to his artificial arm. "Hell of a chill around here, huh? God am I gonna be glad to bust this mountain open," he muttered, motioning for his assembled company to follow after him. Now that they knew where to search, taking the keyhole would be much more convenient for Mae, Holly, and Carlos than making another precarious climb.
"And here I thought ye'd never show!" Paledramon said, laughing in relief. "Bagramon, aye? How the hell are ye?"
"Freezing my ass off. But at least beating a demon into the ground's gonna help us all warm up some."
"Don't be thinkin' it'll be that easy! Me-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Your pappy and your grandpappy," Bagramon said, rolling his eyes. "I'm trying to give these guys a pep talk over here. All that doom and gloom's just gonna let Belphemon get in their heads. 'Sides, not like I'll get to come in. I'm on seal duty tonight."
"Just be careful with me wards. One wrong move, and the North'll be asleep before ye can even gather yer thoughts," Paledramon warned. He drew a horn from his pocket. Unlike the last one, it was carved out of what seemed to be a twisted demon's horn. "This was knocked off the beast in a fight many, many, many years ago. We used it to seal it away-"
"-And now we're using it to bring the fight right to its doorstep. Any questions you got, now's your chance. Once Paledramon and I open up the mountain, you guys are on your own."
The wind howled ominously, but beyond the sound all was quiet atop the mountain. The swirling snows made it impossible to see anything but Bagramon, Paledramon, each other, and the ominous visage of the runes. Even though they hadn't embarked yet, it would be hard to feel anything but well and truly alone. Already, the seeds of invasive thoughts took route in the party's minds. They whispered of isolation, of failure, of hopelessness. They warned of a glacier slowly encroaching on the Digital World, seeking to freeze it to nothingness inch of inch. They spoke of the warmth and security of dreaming, and how much more pleasant it would be than taking another step forward. All of these things, and more, awaited inside of the maw of the beast.
Would they listen?

"It's quite chilly, yes. Unlike the last time I was here, though, I don't have a fire fox to keep me from freezing."
The garbed Keramon was absolutely sure that she had wanted to intervene in this war between the good and the bad. The wind was howling as she and her company accompanied Bagramon to meet with Paledramon. "...Doom and gloom, regrettably, are simply one of a good many things I've had to deal with over the course of my life." The hooded catsquid stated. The top of a mountain, particularly this one, was not somewhere she had expected to return to so soon.
And to deal with Sloth. Another Belphemon. Sheesh, talk about timing and irony. In order to prepare, the Keramon cast off her shroud as she warp digivolved into Rasielmon with a flash of light, before looking to her companions. Her friends. "...I'm ready if you four are. Are we expecting the target to be in Sleep Mode or Rage Mode? I'm going to guess Rage, since we're...well, blowing the door down like a wolf wanting some pigs..."
She felt uneasy about this. Not because of the winds, not because of what the whispers they carried were, but because her foresight had gone quiet on the way up here. And that? That was never good. It was probably going to come back with a vengeance, it was probably going to come back when she least thought it was coming.

She had told them. She was no hero. She was no warrior of light trying to turn back the tide for the millions of people that lived in the digital world. She was nothing like that, she wasn't her mother, her sister, her brother. She wasn't like all these people that moved mountains for one another. She just wanted to be a doctor, she just wanted to live quietly and forget about the poor choices she felt she made while still young.
But the moment she saw that plea for help she felt something move in her core. Something that begged her for action, something that told her that she could make a difference here even if it was small. Initially she was hesitant, but the more she thought about it the more she wanted to do it. The more she wanted to prove to herself that you didn't need to be a hero to make a difference in a moment like this.
She wouldn't be like her mother, she wasn't like that. But at the same time that was probably both a good and bad thing. The meicrackmon grit her teeth as she stepped into the howling winds of the mountaintop. Unlike the others she didn't seem too bothered by the cold, what with being a descendant of a particularly thick furred renamon meant that her fur was also rather thick. But not to the same degree.
The whispers of hopelessness, failure and isolation were nothing compared to the ones that had gone through her head at the time of her mother's death. The invasive thoughts met with a gutso that surprised even her. The crunch of the snow under her feet making it easy to ignore. The whispers speaking of a warmth and how it would be secure in the realm of sleep. A place that the meicrackmon herself loathed. She had a thing with sleep, a thing that she was constantly fighting. She didn't like sleeping and it had been a royal problem in the past. In fact it was still a problem even with her Da's medication.
The meicrackmon bit back a curse as she felt the wind tear through her fur and she'd rub at her neck. She was gifted with maybe a moment before jade followed through with her. The meicrackmon gritted her teeth and turned her head to look about. The small orbs of her creation circling their friend and mother for aught of a moment before resting easy in a lazy spiral around her.
"Enviroment cards would probably be helpful to throw the 'pig' off a bit with this cold. If any of you guys have that of course."
The meicrackmon rubbed her hands together, generating a little warmth, she'd blow into her hands with a little 'hah' as she couldn't help her bodies natural desire for warmth. After all was said and done she'd probably need to get into the tub or something. The meicrackmon blinked however at noting the fact that mae had already gone Rasielmon. She probably should follow suit. But what would her form of choice be? They were fighting a demonlord after all, with three people all capable of super mega in one way or another.
"Tch... I've got something that may help a bit, something I've been wanting to try out and well... nothing says try like this."
The meicracckcmon inhaled softly, the jade orbs circling around her as the meicrackmon's form was swallowed with the light of digivolution. It was in itself absolutely gentle, nothing bright and furious like her other forms. It was calming, soothing, gentle, and it stated a simple fact as her form altered to fit that form of her choice. It wasn't powerful and overwhelming like that of her baihumon.
In fact the slender feminine form of light that was roughly the same size of her meicrackmon form was even more... Well gentle than any of her others. It blew her clarimon_minor out of the water for sure. The brightness and weightless sensation that she experienced in this change was something she had to get used to. The lush hair that she had accompanied with this form gently reacted to the wind. Four sets of wings sprouted from her back, broke off and formed in a ring behind her, gently rotating with one another, teasing in a sense as they didn't need to flap but flapped none the less.
The Clarimon_Major let out a small sigh, sounding somewhat musical. She'd turn her hands over a few times and then tap her temple as those whispers failed to reach her mind at this point. Such was the lucid nature of the form she picked. The 'meicoo' floated a few inches off of the ground to give her wings enough room to rotate and with a soft exhale she'd glance at her partners.
"This form is support and healing, I've got some abilities that are aggressive yes but I'll be playing a more support role."
The soft glow of her body seemed to fight against the snow as it passed around her. The holy digimon managing a small somewhat playful chuckle that she'd grumble afterwards. That just slipped out and she wasn't sure exactly why. This form felt playful rather than serious; but she for the most part was certain of this particular forms ability to help. The clarimon's visage seemed to darken and she couldn't help but mumble softly, more to herself than the others.
"Tch... in a time like this she'd probably say 'I'm proud of you all' or something re-assuring like that..."

"S'all good, I'm sure it'll get a lot warmer in just a moment." The voice of a man quipped, a thick layer of sarcasm in his tone trying to hide away all the fears and concerns that came as soon as he set his eyes on the mighty mountain and it's assorted seals. Really, were it not for the fact he was surrounded by friends and (in an odd way) family, he'd probably would have gladly hightailed it outta there, but alas that wasn't an option anymore.
Behind him came two smaller figures, an impmon hiding under a similarly thick layer of clothing to keep the cold away, and a blackguilmon clearly not all that bothered by the weather as evidenced by his complete lack of clothing.
"I have one of those, but I don't think filling the mountain with lava would be much of an improvement for us if this guy happens to get stronger with fire." Carlos said as he glanced at Holly, patting one of the pockets in his coat, making the cards and digivice within it rustle loudly.
The soft yet disturbing whispers in the wind were hard to ignore, but there was little the three of them could do to block them out other than focusing on the task at hand, and whatever Bagramon and Paledramon had to say to them. Though even that seemed to be the last thing on the twins' mind right now. They weren't here just to stop a force of darkness. There was something else, deep within them beconing them foward, calling them. Not just like a sense of morbid curiosity, or anything of the sort, rather almost a connection to whatever awaited them on the other side of the cold rocky walls.
It was time for the current Sloth to meet the old one...or what was left of it really.
"Funny, I think we are the pigs busting into the wolf's den...Rage mode, Sleep Mode, our job is still the same..." Dio said somewhat sarcastically, throwing his own jacket at Carlos as the light of digivolution flashed around him, the imp soon morfing into a form that would be rather familiar for the Demon Lord. "...we'll take him down regardless."
Just as tall Belphemon took shape next to Carlos, so did the blackguilmon as he too grew into the similarly colored Hadesmon. "I can hopefully protect you guys from one or two attacks like this, so you can join on the offensive too if you want Holly niece...after that though? We're going in." They knew mere megas wouldn't quite get this job done, but experience had taught them they needed an extra push to go beyond that, something their target would no doubt be happy to supply.
Now all they had to do was survive the initial onslaught long enough for that to happen.

"If Sloth itself's gotten its ass out of bed? I'll eat my own damn hat," Bagramon said. "Far as I can tell we're gonna be dealing with Sleep mode. So strike hard, strike fast, and strike first. We want as much of a hurting put on him as we can before he starts fighting back. Course, that just means you'll need to be careful on your way in. Worst case scenario, if we end up waking Belphemon up before the fight even starts . . ."
Bagramon let the sentence hang. It implied enough bad news as is.
He smirked a little at Dio's thoughts. "Atta boy," he said, a hint of pride seeping into his voice. The pride was quickly replaced with surprise, Bagramon's eyes widening as he looked at the transformed imp. "Huh. So we're fighting fire with fire today? Can't say I saw it coming, but hell if I'm gonna complain." With that comment he stepped back towards the mountain, pressing a hand against it and closing his eyes. Pure power began to flood from his body to the wards, their blue glow turning an ominous red.
With one blow of Paledramon's horn, the mountaintop unhinged. Stalagmites and stalactites lined the opening like a fanged maw. A few embers peeled off of the runes, only to fade away as they blew into the darkness. A loud sound, like that of a heartbeat pressed right against one's ears, echoed from within the newly formed cavern. With closer examination, it was clear that this was no heartbeat: it was snoring.
Bagramon stepped aside to usher the others in, but when it came time for Holly he extended a hand across the entrance to block her from approaching. "Look. I'll just say it: your mother was one of the bravest damn 'mons I've seen pick up the sword. I know she risked it all stepping up to the plate for us. And I know there's no way I can ever pay that back. But . . . " He paused, looking down towards the snow. He muttered a swear under his breath. "Fuck, I always sucked at this part. But I'm damn proud of her. Daemon had all the cards in his favor and she made him take a knee. She showed us, no matter how strong they get, the Demon Lords haven't beaten us. And if we follow her example? They're sure as hell not gonna.
No idea if that's the best or worst thing I could've told you before all this, but . . ." He trailed off again, before turning back to Holly and flashing her a weary smile. "You're making her proud today. I know it." With that, he lowered his arm to let her pass.
For now, the opening of the cavern was pitch black. Not even the natural light outside seemed to penetrate the darkness of Belphemon's lair. Only the sound of his snoring, rough enough to shake the mountain itself, provided any sort of direction to be pursued.
What options were left, but to descend right into the darkness?

Mae kept her focus up ahead, doing her best not to pay heed to the whispers that still permeated the very air around her. "How unfortunate that I don't have any cards for this." She uttered. Something she should fix in the near future, really. "...You're right, though." She replied towards Bagramon as her companions also assumed their mega levels. Good, they seemed to all be on a similar level of power here, which...Probably wouldn't help against a Literal Demon Lord but hey, they needed everything they could get.
"It says a lot when the embodiment of laziness isn't being lazy." Now, regarding Dio also being a Belphemon? She did see it coming. She did see it happen one time, too. With the entrance split open and the path revealed, all that was really left was to go inside. While she and the others (except Holly for a bit) went inside, she glanced to Dio, Carlos, and Gio. "Tread carefully. I know that might not be in your lexicon but we need the element of surprise here, don't we?" She whispered.
Upon Holly joining them, Mae would descend right into that darkness. Right in the direction of the snoring. It was a slow and gradual one thanks to the pitch black surroundings.

Holly turned her head to her uncle as he answered her question. She'd rub at her chin thoughtfully; he had a good point in that vein. They weren't sure what sort of powers sloth had yet, just that they were responsible for the dreams that were going on right? The Clarimon_major let out a low huff and just shrugged her pristine shoulders.
"Play it by ear then uncle. You have more experience than I do in this sort of regard."
At Dio turning into Belphemon the clarimon's brows shot up in surprise. She didn't know that her uncle held that form, nor did she know what to do with this information. She'd marvel at the former 'dark lords' form for a moment before snickering to herself.
"Think you could out-sloth him? Heeer? See who moves slower or sleeps better?"
The digimon wasn't even sure if the current belphemon was male or female, or what they even though tthemselves to be. Holly let out a small puff of air at Gio, reaching up to give the other a pat on the side.
"If I stick by you guys I'll give yah a little defensive boost. But I gotta be real close for it. But if you really want to protect me then it'd be my job to make sure that you can still stand to do so~"
A bright tongue was stuck out at the now hadesmon and she'd turn her head to the bagramon as he spoke. The digimon had her attention but he didn't have her respect in the slightest. She felt her mouth curl in a sneer and the expression on the clarimon's face darkened a bit before she'd turn it away. Rubbing at her temples. It wouldn't do her any good to get mad at this mon.
She'd just push that to the side, she couldn't do anything with that and it'd just... Be bad if she put too much effort into that. She'd nod her head slowly as mae gave her answer and then stepped into the Cave. Holly followed along but... then was stopped by bagramon. Holly felt her anger rear it's ugly head and her formless eyes darkened in outright anger.
"You say it like you don't even know what her name was. What she was like. What she was about. What she fought for."
The clarimon growled lowly and looked to the bagramon, her jaw tightening and her arms slowly folded as she felt her anger well up quite nastily. There was nothing he could do, nothing he could say. Nothing that came out of his mouth was anything she wanted to even hear.
"No, There is no way you can. Actions speak louder than words and so far your actions have been muffled by the sound of people better equipped to handle this."
The clarimon stooped under his arm, turning her head back to look at the bagramon. Her hair fluttering softly in wind as it howled past her. She considered for a moment before she spoke again. Less anger. Less of that irritation, less of that... raw feeling.
"Her daughter. A child of barely a year of age is fighting against a demonlord."
The crunch of snow started as she started her descent, wasting time and precious energy flapping her mouth. As her body glowed to contest the darkness a last harsh reprimand came out of her 'lips'.
"She wasn't brave. Bravery indicates the capability of feeling fear. After this I'll tell you about her. Tell you her name. Tell you what her dreams were. And you'll maybe understand, maybe. Or maybe you'll just scoff at it like the rest of your ill-mannered kin."
The clarimon_major visibly deflated once she was far enough away from the bagramon and she'd bring up her hand to wipe at her face as small tears came out of her eyes. She hated this sensation and she hated this. She wanted to be a doctor damnit!
"Dunno how much of a surprise it'll be as my entire body is like a fricken glow-stick dipped in chrome see through..."

"Considering Belphemon is doing all of this while sleeping? I honestly hope this is them not being lazy, otherwise..." He didn't want to finish that sentence and really, he didn't need to. Everyone here knew what a Demon Lord was capable off, specially him. Being surrounded by the other four only made him feel even more insignificant, like an amt trying to cross a highway.
At the very least, some of his doubts were pushed to the background a bit by Holly's almost out of place playfulness. Was it mandatory for digimon to have such sudden shifts with each digivolution?
"'Play it by ear' huh. So pretty much like always." Carlos quipped, rubbing the back of his neck. It only dawned on him now that despite everything he technically was the most experienced one here...or at least the one that had been innthe most amount of missions like these...yet he didn't feel any wiser about them, but he couldn't really let it show now of all times.
As for Dio? While he did let a satisfied, smug snort at Bagramon's encouraging words, it was short lived thanks to Mae's own half quip, half advice and Holly's...almost childish comment.
"Hmph, worry not about us Mae. I know we have only one shot at this, we'll make it count." He whispered back with a sneer, though it was very telling he wasn't as abrassive about it as he could have been. After all, he did refer to Mae by name as oppossed to the usual 'Cat'.
After that he'd turn to his niece. "Holly, I'm the Dark Lord, I think I can outsloth even a Demon Lord if I need to." He retorted, an incredible amount of rather misplaced smugness in his voice. Gio was this close to questioning why his brother thought that was a good comeback, but abstained himself. They had to keep quiet after all, and his brother only got less quiet the angrier he got. Better to humor him for now.
"I know you'll do that, niece." Gio meanwhile reassured Holly with a smile, not nearly as mindful of her teasing as Dio. After all, he knew by heart how it was like to be in her place. After they started making their way into the darkness of the cave however, the three of them would quietly get closer to Holly and just...quietly give her some needed support after her outburst.
A small pet from Dio, Gio quietly and softly nuzzling his metallic head against her side and Carlos just sorta...trying to find where to wrap in arm around the glowing digimon's body.
"Less glowstick, more star if you ask me." He said with a smile, before adding a moment later, "that was awful and cheesy, sorry. Feel free to use me as a human shield later."

Bagramon could've tried to fight was Holly was saying. His attempt at kindness was met by her going for the jugular, and had most Digimon come at him so aggressively he would've had no problem with verbally tearing them a new one. However, he bit down hard on his tongue. The girl was coming from a place of legitimate grief and loss. To dismiss that would've been made him no better than the angels that had kicked him from the heavens in the first place. Even trying to agree with her, at this point, would've done more harm than good. Instead, he let her pass without issue.
"You're right, kid," he muttered, watching her as she walked into the mountain. Already, he could feel his stance loosening. A yawn hitched in the back of his throat. His thoughts were starting to wander, and his brow furrowed as he realized what was happening. Next to him, Paledramon was fighting just to keep his head up and eyes opening. Sloth's pent-up energy was spilling out from the mountain, and if it wasn't re-sealed it'd wash across the north like a tidal wave. They had warned the populace to evacuate, fearing something like this would happen, but what about the ones who refused? They wouldn't stand a chance.
Bagramon closed his eyes, sighed, and spread his arms wide. His Digicore began glowing a bright blue, as if loading an entire buffet's worth of data. And, surely enough, Bagramon was. If he could just hold onto this energy, he'd make sure it couldn't trouble the denizens of the Prominence. "So I'll take the part I can handle." A defiant smile spread across his face, even as he found himself sinking to one knee.
The soft glow coming from Holly's body did wonders to illuminate the cavern. While the darkness was oppressive and hard to beat back, there was now at least a small, shadowy circle of illumination around the trio of heroes. The first thing that they would notice was that the mountainous cavern was very rough-hewn. It did not have the gentle slopes of a cavern hollowed out by wind and water, nor did it have the even geometry associated with man- or mon-made tunneling efforts. Instead, it looked like it had been hacked into being by the claws of a great beast, the stone scooping away and forming jagged edges at seemingly random intervals. It was also a lot hotter inside of the cavern than it was outside. As soon as the group entered, it would be easy to forget they had come from the Tundra in the first place. There was a distinct sulfur-like smell to the air, and veins of ore could be seen marking the stone like a tiger's stripes.
But all of that paled in comparison to what lied deeper within the tunnel. Illuminated by Holly's light, dozens of Chrysalimon dangled from the ceiling. They lazily spun in place, either not noticing that they had visitors or not caring enough to investigate. Occasionally one swung back and forth like a pendulum, but made no attempt at continuing or stopping the motion. They seemed perfectly content to spend their time in a state of pure inertia.
Perhaps they and Belphemon were not so different, in that regard.

Close as they were, they were also at the center of the hypersomnia-laden aura that Sloth was emitting. Mae felt it. The urge to just sleep. The urge to just give up. That being said, the illumination Holly provided was able to do -wonders.- "...Why do I get the feeling this whole tunnel was made by Sloth in a rage?" The Rasielmon found herself muttering as they went down the rather linear tunnel. "And no, no human shields. It's not worth it."
A glance up revealed...they were far from alone. Chrysalimon on the ceiling. Honestly, Mae felt like at least one of these was related to her, considering what her rookie form was. The smell was rather strong, and while Mae was perfectly fine with Holly illuminating the way by merely existing, the Rasielmon soon lifted a hand as a small, bright globe of light formed in her palm. A makeshift flashlight to make the oppressive blackness lessen.
"...Please stay close. I might be able to see the future, but I can't account for strays."

His attempt at kindness only brought up wounds that were still raw and trying to heal. His attempt at kindness brought the fact that her mother had died fighting a war that wasn't even hers. It had hurt and the bagramon would of been better off not bringing it up. She had struggled for a week after the fact trying to find a way to bring her back, only to get forced to stop and been told that the reincarnation of her mother was alive and well. Meaning that bringing her back was impossible. It was a tear stained, frustrating endevour that left the meicoo unable to do anything in the fact.
"...I wish I wasn't. Sometimes I just wish that this was all a bad dream and she would wake me up."
The clairmon finished off rather lamely, the fierce rebuttal that she had given the other taking quite a toll on her. She'd keep her pace with the others, keeping quiet for the most part. Though at the few teases and soft words of her uncles managed a small giggle from her.
"Out sloth the sloth. I think there's a book about that somewhere."
The clarimon_major's body was of course rather bright and thankfully carlos would likely find the easiest part to be around the shoulders or waist of the digimon. Though she was a fair bit taller than him so maybe it'd be better for an arm squeeze or something?
"If anything I'm going to carry you above my head, running and screaming at the top of my lungs later."
The clarimon managed another chuckle and looked about. Surprised at the tunnel that they were walking through. The cavern yawning open to them and her body giving the place the bit of light that it needed. She'd scrunch her nose and bring her hand up to her nose, pinching it slightly as though to mask it. The clarimon's eyes locked onto the various Chrysalimon's that swung back in forth, looking content.
"...To be honest mae I wouldn't be surprised. Lets just... not... bother these guys either. I doubt they'd take too kindly to waking up..."
The clarimon mumbled in a hushed tone, pulling up closer to Mae. Unaware that her friend was likely related to those things swinging above her. She'd tilt her head up as she floated along. Scrunching her brow as she felt a question bubble up.
"...What are these exactly anyways? I've never seen this type of mon before."

Every step taken into the darkness got the group ever closer to the dormant demon lord, and with it the trio could find their eyelids feel heavier and heavier, Carlos in particular not being able to hold back a small yawn. Belphemon was surely living up to his Sin. Trying to keep his mind busy so as to not fall into a deeper sleep the man turned his head to their feline teammate, somewhat taken aback by her words. So Mae could see the future?
"Got any useful predictions yet?" He asked, curious.
The reeking smell of sulfur was enough to almost make them forget the raging snowstorm outside, but it certainly didn't distract them from the hanging Chrysalimon above them, quietly hovering and swinging seemingly without a care, an odd scene to be perfectly honest, one that neither of them fully knew what to make out of it.
That said, for someone that wanted to be a doctor and had plenty of resources available at the Library, Dio couldn't help but find odd that Holly didn't have at least a passing knowledge about such digimon.
"Chrysalimon? They were fairly common in the Dark Area if memory serves right, usually tend to stay in large groups like these." The demon commented, looking up the small congregation of digimon floating above. "Not the biggest threat to us right now...at least hopefully, but I rather not disturb them either." With that said? The two brothers and human were quick to group up closer to the other two, all of them staring at the surrounding darkness just beyond their bright but limited light, ready for anyone or...anything to come at them just out of their field of view.

Staying close to one another seemed like the winning strategy so far. The gaps between the Chrysalimon were fairly wide, and the movements they made were as predictable as they were slow. Sneaking around these slow, ponderous Digimon would be quite the easy feat, especially for the smaller members of the group. Nevertheless, it'd probably be smart not to push their luck; the barbs of each Chrysalimon shimmered in Clarimon's light. Occasionally, a shining drop landed on the ground, smoke and pixels rising from the ground when it made impact. To touch these slick, wet barbs would've risked similar data burns.
Halfway through the Chrysalimon patch, a deep, throaty roar echoed through the cavern. Air rushed past Carlos, Holly, and Mae, pushing quickly enough to knock them down if they were careless with their stances. The Chrysalimon, too, were pulled back. Their tendrils quivered in desperation as they clung onto the cavern's ceiling. A few weren't strong enough; their tendrils snapped off in a spurt of data, sending them tumbling away into the darkness. As the Chrysalimon faded from view, so, too, did the roar. Soon it was little more than a distant echo, bouncing deeper into the depths of the cavern. All was quiet, for a precious few seconds.
Then the cavern walls started to shake. First came a rush of hot air, uncomfortably moist and followed by a deep, wheezing sound. Perhaps at this point, it would become apparent that the sound from earlier wasn't a roar.
Worse, it was a snore.
A few more of these hot, moist breaths followed, each faster and more strangled than the last. It was as if the cavern itself was gasping for air. And how could it not be? Much like any other type of breath, once you snored inwardly you needed to snore outwardly. That was exactly what happened after the third of these hitched breaths, another roaring sound rushing through the cavern. This one, rather than suck inward, blowed outwardly; if Carlos, Mae, and Holly weren't careful, they could've ended up blown right back to the entrance!
However, the snoring presented more threat than a bit of lost progress. The Chrysalimon, once gently clinging to the ceiling, were now being pushed about in every direction. They swung at irregular tempos and in irregular directions, bouncing off of each other like a room full of spinning tops. Sneaking past the Chrysalimon would now take a lot less patience and a lot more agility, especially when each collision seemed to speed the Chrysalimon up more. All the while they made irritated clicking noises, occasionally shuddering in place as if trying to move under their own power. One even opened its eyes, a pair of deep red slits looking to and fro in a state of dreamlike confusion. It didn't notice any of the intruders for the time being.
Would they keep it this way?

Mae had initially assumed that being in the very same confines as the biggest sleeper on the planet would be a good thing. That they could use this to approach Sloth quietly and launch the mother of all surprise attacks on one of the Seven themselves. The challenge had just been to get there, right?
Oh, how wrong could one Ophanim be. There was a roar, a roar that nearly made Mae double over from the sheer force of the air, but she managed to keep her footing. "Did we..." Mae began, before she trailed off with the realization (and the hot air) that that was no roar.
That was Sloth.
Snoring.
Mae had to pause entirely to keep herself from being blown away, but with the threat of a number of Chrysalimon that were originally okay with them being there suddenly becoming a bit more...ambivalent in nature. In the heat of the moment, thinking was something that was sparse in nature. There were only precious seconds allotted, and what did Mae get the idea of doing in this very moment?
...Humming. The Ophanim lapsed into gentle humming of a song that...that those present more savvy in their anime endings would be able to recognize as Fallen Angel from a raunchy Gainax anime. Would that work? Would anyone follow suit? Did Mae actually suck at plans?
...Even she wasn't sure.

They had to stay close given this environment and considering the answer to her previous question... Well she didn't want to get anywhere near the hanging 'threats'. The Clarimon wished that she could maybe mute the light that she pushed out constantly but she couldn't do anything about that.
She'd eye the ground that one of the Chrysalimon had dripped upon, squatting down to sort of eye the smoke and pixels as they came up. She felt her mind race and she'd grimace lightly. If they were capable of doing that to the ground who was to say what it would do if it hit one of them? They'd have to be extra careful.
When the throaty roar happened the clarimon's wings came down. to grip at the ground in an effort to brace herself. She was practically weightless and if she didn't do something she'd go flying further and harder than the Chrysalimon did. She'd let out a sharp gasp as the shaking continued... She'd skidd across the ground, snapping at it and trying to use the area's that the crysalimon's had dripped on for hand holds as her body simply was just too bloody light for something like this.
The clarimon's head adjusted and she'd stand up slowly. Her wings rotating once again as she nervously noticed that one opened their eyes. Holly felt her core catch in her chest as she saw the swinging of the mons. Could they even fight such a large group if they all woke up?
Did they need to blast a swath through them to get them to the next area? She doubted that would be reasonable and inwardly cursed her inability to think of something that wasn't agility based. She didn't know how dexterous her uncles were and she wasn't about to test that...
But then Mae started up something, something that she wasn't expecting. The clarimon recognized the song that the other was humming. She felt her face tint with red as she remembered the show and how squeamish she had been about watching it. The clarimon covered her mouth, that flush spreading across her face as she well... Tried shakily to follow suit. Not super well as she was flustered and stumbling on it....
