There are many places in the digital world that can grab the attention of any human, but the western flatland is the perfect place for researchers, who knows what this interesting world hides beneath the sand? Well a small group found the entrance to what it seemed to be an ancient city but sadly they couldn't do much exploring before having to run away due to the attack of an extremely violent Tyrannomon.
Any person would've gave up and forget about it, but curiosity is something this woman can't ignore and so Tomoe Nakamura ask a Datamon to follow her and issue a request of bodyguards with a nice reward in bits if they help, luckily it was answer rather fast much to the rejoice of the researcher, she then ask Datamon to send the coordinates of the meeting point to their bodyguards and so the waiting game began
The meeting point was an oasis close to the ruins discovered, it was small but it was enough for the woman at least she had water and one tree to rest under the shadow, she made sure to have clothes more fitting to the desert and was wearing a light blue shirt with white shorts, also a small white hat too
"Bodyguards in sight" The Machine digimon alert its partner, the raven hair woman stood up from her position and wave at the two girls getting close to the meeting point

"Hey! I think I see our employers at the distance!" The brunette alerted her friend. By now, Karin and Amelie had shared their fair bit of stuff, and while the blonde (and her partner) were a bit too fond of teasing the brunette regarding a certain event in the Grotto of Sorrows, that was just a hallmark of how close a trio of what were mere strangers had gotten in a relatively short time window.
In a sense, the thought made her quite happy, but that wasn't the topic that was being addressed at the moment. Why the two had decided to help this person? Amy just felt like doing her good action for the day, and kinda guessed that either Karin or Freya had decided to participate mostly because... the former was in dire need of more experience as a tamer; it had to be gotten somewhere, right? This was a good opportunity as any.
The researcher's gesture was reciprocated right away, the young woman waving energetically at their would-be contractor; from one moment to the next, the gap that separated both groups was closed, and the five beings were finally together. "Good morning! Pleased to meet you two; Name's Amelie, but just Amy's fine. We heard you needed some muscle over here, so we came. If you don't mind, can you tell us if there's anything we should have in mind for the mission? If there isn't, I'm ready to go."

Honestly, this sort of job wasn't exactly her alley. It was supposed to be Yuuki's, but instead here she is.... she guess it's because the level is right. Employing high level tends to cost more after all, and she understand that... at times, it's good to also hire low level on certain jobs because it's easier to manage the damage and everything... sorta!
Karin walked behind Amelie. Her kilt billowed as strong gust blew at her direction... which thankfully deals no damage to her thanks to her clothes being enchanted for any sort of situation... but still, that doesn't include her face, so she wore a visor to go with it. She must be looking rather strange at the moment... cat ears headset? A girl who walks in rather skin tight clothes, with kilt and rather short skirt, but with long socks and metal shoes? She pretty much doesn't care anymore (lol)
Either way... bodyguard huh... Is that a Nanomon? Interesting. She never seen one before, but it made her wonder what caused a perfect stage asking for companion of adult stages, but she's not picky.
"Hello," Karin greeted her contractors too. "My name is Takamiya Karin, my partner is Freya. More or less my question is the same one with my friend over here."

The researcher smiled as both girls introduce themselves, she was a little puzzled by what the blonde was wearing, it did not seemed desert friendly, but it wasn't too important to be remarked, the important thing was that they arrive and already were asking if there is something to have in mind for this mission, that definitely put a smile on the researcher
"The pleasure is mine, as you may know already I'm Tomoe Nakamura and this little guy here is Datamon" She made a small bow "And something to have in mind... Well the main reason I ask for digimon capable of reaching champion is to have a damage control, it'll be easier to bring a strong digimon and blast the Tyrannomon to data but that's not what I want" The woman made a small pause "One thing to have in mind from the moment we start moving, we can't talk with the Tyrannomon, we try and it was a worthless effort, he just hates humans and doesn't want anyone in what he calls his territory, so I appreciate if you can knock him out for long enough to take a look at the ruins!"
"Fear not if you result hurt in the fight I shall heal you"
"Yes, Datamon here will take care of healing your partners, translating the symbols in the ruins and other stuff that could be useful, it might be a perfect level but its not too much of a fighter, many of the digimons from our group are actually helpers rather than actual partners like Tamers/Xros general" With the explanation done it'll be best if they start moving "Any other questions or shall we begin our journey to the ruins?"

Tomoe, huh? Amelie liked that name; it reminded her of a friend's waifu old friend. Besides the obvious good taste there, it seemed like the task at hand was relatively simple.
"So, we're basically in charge of distracting the Tyrannomon while you go exploring. Seems easy enough! My spirit forms aren't really suited for direct fights, anyway, so this makes the whole deal a whole lot more easier." And after a pause, she looked at her fellow hirees. "What do you think, Karin? Will you and Freya be able to keep up?"
That comment was intended more as teasing than anything else. She knew the duo was capable, but those were just Amy's antics at its finest. She could behave just like a child at times, kinda! In any case...
"I'm ready to go at any time, just say the word, and I'll advance. I'm itching to get started." To say that she was eager was probably the understatement of the year, probably. With any luck, they'd begin soon!

"Neither of us are suited for direct combat anyway," Freya corrected, smiling happily. "But yes, don't worry about me. I'm a good flower with plenty of thorns. Or a good spooky tree, if that's what you preferred."
Spooky tree... The first time Karin saw it she can't believe it. What causes Freya evolve to something dreadful looking? What causes her to evolve in such way? She tried to ask around, but apparently no one have ever seen such a Woodmon before... Freya herself aren't concerned the slightest, waving it off as "well, I'm not berserking, am I?" but something about it alarmed Karin. The nonchalance is... vexing.
"Well, she'll keep up for sure," Karin answered finally. "More than that, you should know what Freya is capable of by now, don't you? Anyway, please trust us, we'll do our best to protect you and your crew, Ma'am."
For now though? Freya slowly inhaled the air. Several Digicodes flowed from the ground and empowered her Digicore. With this, her preparation is ready.

The woman smile as it seems both girls were capable of taking care of this little mission, tho she was a little worry for the Floramon being... Well a plant! Tyrannomon is a digimon known for fire based attacks so it might be a problem, but to be honest they don't seem to worried so no reason for her to be worried either
"Oh no, don't distract him, for what little information we were able to gather about him, this Tyrannomon gets stronger the more time he spends fighting" Said the researcher looking at Amy
"It will be best to take him out quickly just to save us future problems"
"Yes! Agree, besides I don't know if there are more digimon on the ruins aside Tyrannomon, I'd be much confortable if you can stay close to me most of the time"
And with that said the group started their walk towards the ruin, interestingly enough the Floramon seemed to take a deep breath and small bits of digicode flow from the ground to her, surely that would take care of the fire problem... At least the researcher hopes so!
The desert didn't seem to change much as they walk just kilometers and kilometers of dunes and sand, after thirty minutes or so the group would be able to see something at the distance, it seemed like an arc and as they got close they'd see it was made of bricks, the arc was missing some parts as it seems time and sandstorms erode and wear away the bricks.
On a closer inspection the girls would be able to notice some simbols on the walls of the arc, for those more well versed they could quickly identify it as digimoji, not uncommon to see on ruins and while it might be a little difficult to understand for a human luckily they had Datamon with them!
"Welcome to Zimwell, Kingdom of Pharaohmon"
At little far away from the arc the group would be able to see small house like buildings also in a poor state, the next step would be to look closer at these ruins but the woman was a little hesitant to cross the arc.
"Well... If you're going to evolve or something... I'd say now it's a good moment, last time we didn't got too far from this entrance when Tyrannomon attacked" She warned the girls, tho as of now there was no sign of Tyrannomon anywhere

It seemed like things were just a bit more complex than anticipated. But that was fine! Amy could get behind a decent challenge. "Oh, so don't distract them; just knock him out without deleting the dude. Got it, that seems easy enough!" Their offense would have to be more direct than expected, but that was okay. In a gesture that seemed like a routine by now, the brunette petted Freya's head. "We'll take care of it; easy peasy!" Thus, the group was on their way towards the ruins and on their quest to protect Dr. Idiot Sandwich Tomoe. Reaching the so-called Zimwell had gone without a hitch, really! Even though... it seemed like this would get interesting from now on, considering that they were given the 'suggestion' to evolve now. "Well, let's go then! Ready, girls? Let's get started." Lest to say, Amelie already had a ring of fractal code swirling around her left hand, all while her right firmly held her digivice. Moments afterward, Siftermon stood where the girl had previously been, eagerly awaiting a command to move forward.

"Well, then..." Karin clicked her D-Nexus' center button. Freya quickly disintegrated into data and rendered through a golden ring, revealing wireframe of what looked like Woodmon... yet the moment the second golden ring appeared underneath her, to fully render her, the appearance of ghastly looking Woodmon appeared. It looks damn haunted even, almost like a halloween monster. "Well, then, they said it's phase of an ugly duckling you see~" Freya joked. "Then again I'm not alone in me being abomination. I reckon that my friend over here is even worse in that department?" "Come now, let's not dawdle..." Karin sat on Freya's branch, seem to be ready herself. "I wish I have wood related cards honestly..." she muttered. But anyway... onward it is?

Aromatic Blast:
Woodmon gain one token per turn if she takes damage from the opponent. Once she got three token, this passive will blast the last attacking opponent with aromatic fragrance that saps their strength and defense by 15% for three turns. This passive counter then resets to 0.
Elemental Wickerman:
Triggered once per battle. If Woodmon is attacked by fire or ice type attack, her attack gains 50% of said elemental bonus. The benefit of this technique stops when Woodmon is doused / frozen (when fiery) or melted (when frozen), and will not gain the same benefit again. Sealing this passive when it's active also cancels it.
Stigma of Strength:
An ally can lend Woodmon power by attacking it with a damaging attack of their choice. While not taking direct damage from that attack, it will cause Woodmon takes DoT damage with duration equal to its cooldown. Woodmon gains benefit from how long is the duration.
1 turn: +10% Strength - Minor DoT
2 turns: +20% Strength - Minor DoT
3 turns: +20% Strength, +20% Speed - Moderate DoT
>3 turns: +20% Strength, +20% Speed, +25% elemental damage bonus - Strong DoT. Duration capped at 4 turns.
Once-per-thread abilities and AoE are non-eligible. The attack must be specifically targeted at her. |

Dr. Nakamura was simply amazed when she saw Amelie evolve, she has heard about spirit user but never saw or met one properly, tho she didn't know what digimon the brunette became, it's not one she saw before and it's form was hard to describe, and the Floramon evolved into a Woodmon a digimon she knew but at the same time this show some differences with the normal Woodmon, mainly looking more creepy.
Needless to say the researcher was more than please with her bodyguards, with the two of them it shouldn't be too hard take care of Tyrannomon and explore the city, so finally they enter the city and as mentioned by walking some minutes they'd reach the first couple of "buldings" (it was more accurate to call them domes) they were in a poor state almost falling apart, by the looks of it this domes were some kind of house.
On the distance small figures could be seen near more dome like buildings, hard to tell but they look like bed sheet ghosts the group definitely needs to get closer to see them properly, but suddenly a huge roar echoed around the group, it shouldn't be possible for a 7ft red dinosaur to sneak up on the group and yet it was really close to them standing just a couple of meters away, was he buried under the sand waiting? Was he summon by magic? How did he appear out of nowhere?
"Humans are not allowed here" Tyrannomon said as he charge a fireball and shoot it at the group, he didn't aim to any of the mons but directly to Tomoe.
The woman jump to a side and stood down while Datamon stood in front of her like a shield, the dinosaur had his sight focus on the researcher yet took a quick glance at the others, only one more human around and it was on one of the branches of a Woodmon, Tyrannomon grinned he might be outnumbered but was sure that he could brute force his way in this fight
"This is your only chance, leave now or face the consequences for walking into my territory"

Well, things sure got heated fast. Minutes into their foray, they had already found the Tyrannomon that had been... pretty obvious at making his presence known and at... saying something, probably. It wasn't like Siftermon could truly hear, not that it cared about some kind of speech regarding how they were treading on forbidden territory or whatever. While he had gotten the first punch, the aberration would ensure that was the last attempt the overgrown lizard would have at harming Dr. Tomoe. Immediately, Siftermon charged towards Tyrannomon, looking to engage him directly. Once near enough, a torrent of flames would erupt from the abomination's tendrils, their intent being to sear its enemy's flesh and hopefully inflict more damage. If not? At least that'd be an opening for Freya to get in and do some of her Woodmon stuff. Tyrannomon was currently outnumbered, and unless the duo made a slew of critical mistakes, chances were that their advantage would build over time if they kept on attacking him.

Hmmm, what a bad display of attitude. Going directly for the human... "...Ara, well then, Karin-chan, please stay here for a while, alright? Oneesama must teach some manner to this dinosaur. Especially about picking someone their size... Bad child should be punished, yes?"
Freya's not as fast as Amelie obviously, considering she's a tree with not that much mobility, but she definitely can do a little attack even from far away. The mouth of the Woodmon suddenly released something that might looks semi transparent. It's actually would be visible better in dark places, but it's pretty much souls. Yes, souls... Curious souls that is.
It would fly toward where the Tyranomon is, and if it managed to get inside of it, it'll lower his greatest parameter by 40% for three turns. Freya waved her twig-like arms at it, taunting it with a finger gesture of "c'mmere" Here's the thing though... she want him to use fire moves on her. Why? Well, simply because it will definitely give her a bit of a boost, ufufufu~

Curious Soul:
Woodmon releases soul of unknown alignment. What matters is they saps the opponent's strongest attribute, either strength, speed or defense by 40% for 3 turns. 3 turns cooldown.

Tyrannomon didn't expect the group to walk away peacefully after his warning, he was more than happy to take them on a fight that was for sure, as Siftermon got close and shoot a stream of fire from its tendrils one would think The big red dinosaur would try to dodge it but instead he just stood in place and took the hit.
Tyrannomon let out a roar but was it because he was in pain or something else? Once the flames fade away they'll see that the dinosaur has change a little bit, his claws were longer and sharper and so were his fangs, his eyes change to a golden color and look more lizard like, overall he looked stronger but thankfully Freya's souls manage to go inside the digimon while he was roaring lowering his strength a little.
The attacks worked that's for sure but the big dinosaur was not going to turn his back, on the contrary he started charging towards Siftermon, soon his body burst into flames and kept moving with the idea of run through the spirit user, if he somehow misses he'll focus on Freya, fire should easily burn the tree down, Right?
While the duo was fighting, Datamon and the researcher move closer to where Karin was, the digimon stood in front of both humans acting as a shield in case the dinosaur change his focus to them, it might not be too good at fighting but still Datamon is a durable digimon!
Combat log
─Blaze blast hits Tyrannomon directly and takes the damage but that activates his passive
─ Dormant Dragon Instinct [passive]: Whenever Tyrannomon is hit by a fire attack the dragon data in his core awakens, changing his appearance to be more dragon looking for 3 turns his fire attacks deal 20% more damage (cooldown 3 posts)
─ Raging Beast [passive]: Each round Tyrannomon receives an attack it gains one rage counter, each counter increase his strength by 5% up to a maximum of 30% (6 stacks), if he’s not attack for one whole round he loses all the counters (1/6 Strength buff 5%)
─ Freya's Curious Soul sap Tyrannomon strength yet he still charges against Siftermon
─ Buster Charge: Cover himself in fire and charge towards the enemy doing heavy fire damage (cooldown 2 post)

Thus far, it seemed like the digimons' efforts had been quite effective, even if Siftermon's fiery attack had triggered something on its enemy; it seemed like he was angry, and that he had gotten a temporary power-up. How long would that last? How effective it was? Those, and many other question's frankly... didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. The various tissues conforming Siftermon's body began to change in coloration rapidly, its appearance shifting and changing while Tyrannomon approached. The digimon didn't bother moving away from its opponent. Instead, it faced the charging attack head-on. Why? Let's just say that the dinosaur would be up for a nasty surprise. Moments before he made contact, the Tyrannomon would see in own image in front of him for a split second. Siftermon got struck by the ramming attack and was knocked back several meters. That had been pretty damaging, even if the digimon was doing its best to patch itself after such an attack. No doubt, that'd give Freya an opening to press the assault, and hopefully to further debilitate the Tyrannomon.
Turn recap! —Siftermon stands its ground.
—Uses Reality Hemorrhage moments before being hit by Buster Charge
—And then regains some health due to Reprocess.
*Reality Hemorrhage: Reality warps and bends around this digimon, changing the perception of its own self and its opponent. The next time this digimon would receive damage, whoever caused that damage is subject to the same amount of damage. Duration: up to 5 posts. Cooldown: 2 posts.
Relevant Passive Abilities:

Oh bastard. Looks like he's ignoring her, how annoying. She does feel her debuff connecting though... so the way to settle this... let's see, let's see... Considering that now he's charging at Amelie, that means it's time for her to act right? The moment the impact hit, Freya focused her roots down the ground. Rapidly, it began to spread to network down the Tyranomon's feet. The moment she decided it's close enough, she forces the roots out. If it hits it will entangle the Tyranomon before it sucks nutrients out from him.
Where does the nutrient goes to? To her obviously. This will be made into fruits that Amelie hopefully can nab (if it does grow obviously) to heal herself. It's not much, but it's still nutritious... and healing. Either way, if that doesn't work, perhaps she had no other option but to increase her firepower in some other way... Hopefully through being hit by an attack. If not? Well...
...Should she try to slide?

Forbidden Fruit (RAM UPGRADE):
Woodmon strikes the opponent with draining vines from underneath their feet. Should it hit, it will drain 75% of the damage to grow a fruit on Woodmon's branch that will heal the consumer. Consuming the fruit consumes the said target's free action. The fruit will only stay for the turn it appeared and the turn after it, then will wilt. Two turns cooldown.
