The speed at which Unica completely disregarded her warning and innocently called her a bitch like it was some kind of new game definitely threw Yuko for a loop. Her cheeks flushed a faint shade of pink, her eyes narrowed, and she pouted in clear annoyance. “No, bad! Very bad! Good girls don’t say bad words. Do you wanna get suplexed again?” The teenage delinquent retorted, while bringing her hands up to the child’s face and pinching her cheeks lightly. Wow, she had such soft cheeks! She could touch them, and pinch them and rub them all day long!
Anyway, after coming to the realization that Unica was indeed very cute, Yuko set her free, and took a more relaxed stance, resting her hands on her hips that were just below the shallower water. “If you have to say the word anyway - and clearly you do - at least make sure you’re using it correctly.” She began to explain, since the damage had already been done. “If somebody really upsets you, or you just really don’t like them, then it’s okay to call them a bitch. Take Jokah for example. He’s a bitch for not staying in the water with us.” “I HEARD THAAAT!!” Jokermon’s voice sounded from the far distance.
Ignoring the distant clown’s protests, the older Tamer assumed a meeker look. “You don’t really think I’m a bitch, right? You like me, don’t you?” Yuko couldn’t believe she was asking that question. She normally didn’t give a damn what others thought of her, so why did she suddenly seeking this girl’s approval? Had the wholesomeness of having a pseudo little sister finally won her over?

It was difficult to take Yuko seriously when she followed up a scolding with a playful threat of suplexing Unica into the water. Then again, she was probably trying to avoid making the girl upset while also trying to express how naughty a word like "bitch" was. As though to punish Unica for her foul language, Yuko reached out and pinched her cheek lightly. It didn't hurt. If anything, it tickled. Unica giggled and lifted her shoulders to her ears to try and protect her neck from any further tickling, unaware of what the teenager was really doing. "Bitch~!" Unica chimed when Yuko retracted her hand, as if tempting the woman to try tickling her again. Much to her surprise, the colorful teen didn't try to pinch or tickle her again; instead, she decided to teach Unica the correct way of using the word.
Yuko explained that Unica should only call someone "bitch" if they make her really upset or if she doesn't like them. Yuko used Jokah-sama as a prime example of "a bitch." Unica gasped upon hearing this, surprised that the teen would call her Digimon partner such a bad word, especially after she just finished explaining how the word was only to be used when talking about people she didn't like. However, when Jokermon's voice sounded from far away, exclaiming that he had heard what Yuko said, Unica giggled -- not just because the exchange was comical, but because the sound of his voice meant that he hadn't left in a fit of sadness as she had previously thought. She even glanced in the direction of Jokah-sama's voice to see if she could spot him.
When Yuko spoke again, Unica turned back around, still smiling and unaware of how the mood of the conversation had shifted to something more serious. Yuko asked what Unica thought of her, and the young girl eagerly voice her thoughts, "Noo~! I like you, and I like Mister Jokah-sama!" (Which, in Japanese, was probably something like "Jokah-sama-sama.") "You're not a bitch," Unica giggled, still finding the word fun to say simply because she knew it was forbidden. "You're a friend!" she explained, crouching down and splashing sea water in the teenager's direction. It wasn't difficult to become Unica's friend. She called anyone who was ever nice to her a friend, and Yuko had been very kind indeed.

The pierce-faced teenager giggled fondly as Unica called her a friend and playfully splashed sea water at her. She retaliated by splashing some water back, obviously a small amount to avoid accidentally drowning the much shorter girl. “Heheh. Thanks, Unica-chan. You’re a friend too. Come over here, you!” Smiling brightly, Yuko reached out her hand and patted the little girl on the head, resisting the urge to ruffle her albino hair for good measure. She didn’t want to act annoyingly dotting towards her.
Meanwhile, if Unica looked hard enough for Jokermon, she might have eventually spotted him near an ice cream stand run by a friendly Daipenmon. Soon, he walked closer to the shore, holding three sticks of ice cream in his hands. “Ogudomon almighty, look at all this ice cream! And it’s aaaaall for me!” The jester spoke to no-one in particular, yet loudly enough for both girls in the ocean to hear him. He slowly pushed the tube-shaped frozen delicacy through his red lips and into his mouth, moaning in sheer satisfaction as he did. “Mmmmmmmm~”
Yuko couldn’t care less for the accidental euphemism, but the sight of food did cause her stomach to growl in protest. “Darn, that looks tasty.”

The two girls were having a good time splashing each other in the ocean, a fact which was apparent to all the beach-goers by all the high pitched laughter. When Yuko called out for Unica to "come over here," the young tamer squealed, whirled around, and tried her best to outrun her pursuer. However, due to her short legs and the resistance of the water, she was unable to get very far before her friend caught up, patting her on the head. If it wasn't for Jokah-sama's timely return, Unica would've believed that they were playing tag and she was now It. However, when the jester Digimon approached the shoreline, holding three ice pops as he boasted about how much ice cream he had, Unica turned her head to see.
Whether or not Yuko was intending to play a game of tag no longer mattered to the young girl, for she had her sights set on something far more interesting. "Oh, oh!" she grunted as she waded through the ocean toward dry land. "I want-!" she began, cutting herself off to huff in mild irritation at how heavy her water-soaked clothes were. "I want one!" she exclaimed as she ran up to Jokermon who was noisily enjoying one of the ice pops. Unica grabbed the front of her dress and whimpered as she watched him, her eyes wide and her bottom lip extended in a somewhat comedic fashion as she begged for ice cream. "Pleeease, Jokah-sama! Gimme, please," she whined. It looked like she was using all her willpower not to reach up and steal one from him. But she wouldn't. Manners were important.

The child getting out of the water, running up to Jokermon and begging for some ice cream elicited a downright diabolical smile from the shady clown, to the point one would think that the great Lucemon himself had possessed him. Yet, as soon as it had appeared, that same smile turned into a tragic frown. “Oh, no no no, a thousand times no! If you eat now, you’re gonna get back in the water to play immediately afterwards, and then you’ll get a stomach cramp. How will I be able to live with myself knowing that I unwittingly, yet inadvertently caused you such pain? I would be torn apart if something like that happened to you. Torn apart, I tell you!”
Yuko wondered why he was being so dramatic about this, until it clicked to her, and she realized exactly what he was trying to do. Smiling warmly, the teenage Tamer walked out of the water as well and approached them. “Can I have some ice cream too, Jokah-sama? Please? I promise I’m done swimming for the day.” “Good girl, Yuko-chan! In that case, of course you can!” The clown happily said as he handed the frozen treat to her, leaving only one in his hand that had yet to be consumed.

Katsura was back at the beach again, in her arms she was carrying Nyao the blackgatomon and for once a softice. As she was finishing her ice cream she was looking towards the ocean distantly.
"Come on, Katsura. We're at the beach, you need this vacation." "Sigh, I'm trying. The ice cream helps I think." Unlike most humans Katsura acted perfectly integrated into the digital world, she could casually address the Daipenmon and showed no surprise at any digimon who came by... Almost. When a Jokermon arrived to order ice cream, Katsura almost immediately turned to him with a look of curiosity.
"Huh?"
Jokermon may not have noticed he was being watched when he ordered 3 sticks of ice cream. Upon seeing him leaving to do his business, Katsura placed a pile of Bits on Daipenmon's desk.
"Keep it." Afterwards, Katsura proceed to following after Jokermon all while eyeing him up still with the curiosity in her stare. When Jokermon was offering Yuko an ice cream, there was a girl carrying a black cat right behind him staring.

Jokermon refused to hand the ice pop over to Unica, citing the fact that if she were to get back in the water after eating then she'd get a stomach cramp, and if that were to happen then he'd blame himself for putting her in so much pain. He was trying to be funny and Unica would've laughed at how dramatic he was acting, but she wasn't in the mood to giggle right now. She wanted that ice cream! She moaned softly in frustration at the predicament she was in. Agree not to swim anymore and eat the ice cream, or give up the ice cream and swim some more? What a difficult decision! It was about then that Yuko stepped up and asked for one of the ice pops, promising she was done swimming for the day. Unica watched as Joker-sama handed the ice cream over and watched with wide, sad eyes as the teenager begin sucking on her sweet treat.
The young tamer whimpered again, turning her attention back to Jokermon who now had a woman standing almost directly beside him, just staring. Unica wasn't the type of person to judge others before getting to know them, but this lady was giving off some pretty scary vibes. She was silent, her expression was stoic and unreadable, and her gaze was fixated on the group. It didn't help that Unica didn't see the red-eyed girl walk up, so it seemed as though she had appeared out of no where. The black cat in her arms was cute, but the woman herself was too mysterious for Unica's liking. Clearly anxious, she took a few hesitant steps backwards, slipping behind Yuko for protection while keeping her attention on the stranger.

To swim or not to swim? To ice cream or not to ice cream? Indeed, Unica was at the very precipice one of of the toughest decisions she probably ever had to make in her very short life. It was almost heartwrenching watching her struggle between the two equally tempting options, but being merciful was not one of the Demon King’s qualities.
It was then that Yuko felt a shiver down her spine, and it wasn’t a result of the air brushing against her wet skin. She had that peculiar feeling that they were being watched, and Unica must have had it too, since she hid behind the older girl. A creepy, black-haired girl was standing behind Jokermon, carrying a feline Digimon in her arms. She was just… staring at them.
“Uuuh… hi.” Yuko awkwardly waved at the creepy creeper, while her other hand held Unica’s own, as if to calm her down. The Clown Prince also turned to look at this new presence, smiling widely as he beheld the Black Gatomon. “Ohohoho, what have we here! Another hungry human, but there is only one ice cream left.” He said, chuckling.

Katsura responded to Yuko's waving by making a greeting bow, that part went went well enough. Fortunately for Unica it seemed like Nyao had picked up on her reactions.
"Umm, you're doing it again." "... Oh! Sorry." Katsura was a bit slow to catch her digimon's hint but when she did, Katsura bowed again this time before Unica.
"Didn't mean to scare your sister." she said as she turned to Nyao.
"Did I use the wrong emotion?"
"You didn't use any." "Sorry about that... I forgot." Katsura made a brief inhale and like pressing a switch Katsura and her demeanor now looked more happy and cheerful than ever, which caused Nyao to sigh.
"I'm Ise Katsura, this is my partner, Nyao." and for the third time she bowed and this time Nyao nodded. Before Katsura could say something more, the Jokermon was addressing her and talking about having only one ice-cream.
"Umm it's okay, I'm fine." Katsura said as her stomach growled before indicating Yuko.
"Is she your best friend for life?"
"That's Katsura-language for "partner"." "There's a language named after me? Huh didn't know."

This girl was strange, and it seemed as though Unica wasn't alone in thinking this. Yuko appeared to be a little on edge too, though she hid her anxieties well and grabbed the young tamer's hand, gently squeezing it in reassurance. It was a comfort of sorts, knowing that someone was there to look out for you in questionable situations. Unica had made fun of Yuko earlier for being old, but in that very moment, she was grateful that there was an "adult" around to help act as a buffer between her and the scary strangers. Unica's eyes widened with awe when the black cat spoke. She wanted to hold the talking kitty, but it felt inappropriate to ask in the moment of time, so she didn't.
When the strange girl turned her attention to the young tamer, bowing and apologizing to Yuko for scaring her "sister," Unica's expression shifted to one of surprise and she took another uncertain step behind Yuko, now completely hidden behind the delinquent and unable to see the stranger or the feline Digimon. Unica's reaction elicited some confusion from the stranger, who asked if she was using the "wrong emotion." What did that mean? The black-haired girl apologized again, claiming she forgot something before officially introducing herself as Ise Katsura and her partner as Nyao.
Unica squeezed Yuko's hand and peeked out from behind the colorful teenager once again. She watched in silence as Jokermon welcomed the strangers and laughed about how he only had one ice pop left. No! Unica wanted that ice cream! She'd be torn apart if he gave it to these creepy strangers! She wanted to say something but simply grunted in disapproval instead. Fortunately for her, Katsura declined the offer and proceeded to ask Joker-sama is he was Yuko's "best friend for life," a phrase which the black kitty translated to "partner." Why did the black-haired girl speak so strangely? Unica didn't feel good about this.

Okay, so their creepy stalker knew how to talk after all. After being urged by her feline partner, she finally bowed properly and apologized for scaring Yuko’s sister… Wait, her sister?! “Wait, my sister?!” The pierce-faced teen blurted out, blushing ever so slightly at the implication. It wasn’t like she thought Unica-chan was adorable and wished for her to be her little sister. No siree! “Uuuh… No, we’re not related.” She replied, wondering how the girl had even made that assumption. The two of them looked nothing alike, especially since one of them was Asian and the other Caucasian.
Still, the teenage Tamer returned the courtesy by bowing in turn. “I’m Himura Yuko, and this is Unica no-last-name-given.” She said, still holding the younger child’s hand. “And I’m Jokah-sama, better known as the Demon King of the Digital World!” Jokermon also introduced himself, chuckling at Katsura’s weird, but cute phrasing. “Ohohoho, you can say that again! We’re the bestest of friends! Isn’t that right, Yuko?” “No.” The Japanese delinquent curtly replied, pursing her lips, before letting out a defeated sigh. “Yes…”

Katsura noticed the little girl's rejection which caused her to look down to Nyao. "Nyao, Did I do bad?"
"Eeeh" The cat didn't look particularly impressed by her partner's skills in social interaction, which caused Katsura to make a shrug, well at least she tried.
Katsura nodded confirming that she saw them at sisters. Unfortunately that turned out to be a mistake on Katsura's part as Yuko corrected her.
"Oh, sorry just thought umm... Nevermind." Althrough Katsura's mouth wasn't saying it, her eyes were fixated at the handholding while she tried to excuse herself. Well now she got introduced to the group.
"Nice to meet you too Yuko-chan, Unica-tan. Oh?"
It seems like the Jokermon also wanted to introduce himself... As the demon king of the digital world?
"Uhmm hello Jokah-san, how's the dark area?" Katsura asked him, apparently the girl wasn't that easy to lie to. At the very least, she wanted to do some smalltalk even though she was very certain that he wasn't the king of the digital world and even verbally setting herself up as his equal. Katsura's eyes opened wide at the sight of how Jokermon and Yuko interacted.
"Ahhh the bond between a human and a digimon, it's so special it's it's." "Katsura, calm down. You're scaring Unica-chan" "Sorry, I get carried away sometimes. Soo where's your friend Unica-tan?" Katsura made a smile on her face as she kneeled before Unica to get in same height, considering Katsura was only 4'8 tall that wasn't a difficult feat.

Had Unica cared enough, understood enough, or been paying attention enough to register the confusion regarding her relationship with Yuko, she may have tried to clarify that the two were just friends. Though the idea of them being siblings was cute to think about, such a reality would've meant that one or both were adopted, or the girls were only half-sisters. It was an honest mistake, especially for a stranger who saw how friendly the two were with one another. A more accurate assumption probably would've been that Yuko was Unica's babysitter, but even that wasn't the full truth. Yuko wasn't being paid. She simply took it upon herself to look after the young tamer who would have been alone otherwise.
The two teenagers moved past this topic quick enough and decided instead to introduce themselves with pleasantries. Unica was introduced by Yuko as "Unica No-last-name-given," a comment which elicited a stifled giggle from the small girl. She could've given her last name, rectified the additional confusion, but she liked the fake name her friend had given instead. Then Katsura asked Jokah-sama about "the dark area," a quip which left Unica confused and a bit frightened. A dark area? That sounded pretty scary. Fortunately for her, the black kitty, Nyao, hushed at her human companion by drawing attention to the young tamer.
Then the red-eyed girl turned her attention to Unica, a simple act which caused the blonde child to respond by whimpering and squeezing Yuko's hand a little tighter. Katsura apologized for getting carried away, and Unica loosened her grip somewhat. She smiled. It was a fake smile, but a smile nonetheless. It was one forced out of manners and politeness rather than actual joy and comfort. "A smile goes a long way," her mommy told her once. Now seemed like the perfect time to act on those words of wisdom. Katsura returned the smile, and Unica's smile turned into a genuine one. Excited that her smile had received one in kind, she glanced up at Yuko excitedly then turned her attention back to the red-eyed girl in front of her.
Then came an unexpected question: "Where's your friend?" Her... friend? Unica's smile vanished and was replaced by an expression of puzzlement. "Friend?" She looked back up at Yuko. "Lady's real nice," she explained, tugging gently on the older teen's arm to emphasize who she was talking about. She giggled suddenly, remembering how funny Jokermon had been during his failed magic trick. She shifted her gaze to the jester Digimon. "Jokah-sama's so funny. I like him too," she mused, a playful twinkle still shimmering in her eyes even as she looked back at Katsura. Perhaps she didn't yet consider Birdie her friend, or perhaps she was still confused by the odd girl's decision to call partners "friends."

‘Yuko-chan’ winced at the use of honorifics. It made their names sound cute and all, but when delivered in Katsura’s awkward tone, it just sounded… well, awkward. Based on the Black Gatomon’s reaction, she probably didn’t have the best social skills, which was alright. Yuko wasn’t much of a people person either, so she could sympathize to an extent. That was, when she wasn’t saying weird things. “The Dark Area?” “Oh, it is filled with pain, fear and malice as always… and it is glorious!” Jokah-sama rejoiced, spinning on his heel and spreading his lanky arms far and wide. The last ice cream remained firmly on his hand, always taunting the two hungry girls with its alluring tastiness.
Unica was a bit confused as to which ‘friend’ Katsura was asking her about. Still, she was confused in a cute way that made Yuko’s heart melt. “Sweetie, no.” She said, letting her hand go and petting the smaller girl’s head. “She’s asking about your friend Birdie, your guardian angel. She should be here… you know, guarding you and stuff.” She clarified to her.

That's it, Katsura thought "A smile goes a long way; just keep pretending to be happy and people will like you". So far it seems like at least Unica and the Jokermon was starting to warm up to her. Why smiling was so important, Katsura didn't know but she couldn't deny the results. Especially now that Katsura had sparked up a conversation with Jokermon and Yoko-chan about the dark area.
"Yeah, like the human world!" Katsura said with a cheer and a giggle rivaling Unica at her cutest and completely unaware of the blunder she just did. Upon seeing Unica tugging into Yoko-chan and calling her nice, all she could do was ponder over why those two weren't related, Unica certainly behaved like a little sister!
"Oh you" Katsura said smilingly to Unica switching between Jokermon and Yoko-chan.
"Huh didn't know a digimon could have 2 partners, I mean I know about having 2 partners as humans. But oh "Birdie"? So your friend is a bird then? I wanted to name Nyao "Fluffball" but she already had a name. It's a nice name for a fluffy ball you knoow."
