Alright, now that we’re down to a proper sixteen person bracket, let’s show the crowd what our simulators can really do!The Helipad
As Panthermon, Zachary, and Amaranthus would be transported to their stage, they would be immediately greeted with a heavy rainfall pounding on down from above, the ground below them slick with a thin layer of water, creating a glossy finish over the concrete surface. A surface, with a giant ‘H’ surrounded by a giant white circle in the middle of the area. Yes, this was unlike any place in the Digital World, but looked more akin to New York, or perhaps some futuristic city! The sound of three noisy helicopters roared overhead, powerful spotlights shining towards the arena. One shone at the back of each combatant, tracking them through the fight, while a third marked the center of the arena. Beneath them – should they be able to get there – they would be able to find several floors of corporate office buildings, empty and abandoned for the weekend. Despite the simplicity of the top platform, this fight had the opportunity to become quite crowded. After all, just how durable was the building? The first round for Zachary and Panthermon had begun and they had been teleported to their first match. Zachary's heart was beating like a drum as he felt the rain patter against him and his blue jacket. Panthermon stood beside him, slowly prowling in front of him as their enemy showed up... and it was no doubt the same one they had met outside of the arena. Amaranthus. The demon goat woman appeared, a difficult figure to see among the darkness and rain-- had it not been for the spotlights. Zachary stood there with a firm expression on his face, his hand gripping his D-Arc tightly as he heard the D-Reaper Scout give the rules... This was a surprise to Zachary as it was revealed they could use cards, but not his. Each person could use cards and had to use them. Zachary saw them materialize in front of him in the air, which he took tenderly. Many of them were ones Zachary didn't have or thought to use, but powerful. This gave Zachary options to help his partner-- and more confidence to know he could help him more. Panthermon had told him it wasn't the cards that made him reliable, it was more than that. Soon the match began and Panthermon growled at Amaranthus. " I have no illusions you will have any sense of honor in this fight. But know this... I shall not be defeated by your dark powers. I exist to defeat that darkness." Panthermon declared boldly as he stood there. It was time. Zachary soon drew one card-- not an official one but one to trigger the next stage of battle. A blue card. " Here we go! Digimodify!!" Zachary cried and slashed the card in front of him. (PURELY COSMIC) " MATRIX DIGIVOLUTION!!" Suddenly a powerful light erupted from around Panthermon. His form was eclipsed-- and soon more shadows emerged as well. The light illuminated against Zachary as a new shape emerged from the shadows. After a moment it rose up and transformed, becoming Panthermon's ultimate form... ... Jaguamon. In his place was a tall humanoid were-jaguar of pure black fur, with limbs and body as a humanoid digimon and the claws and paws as a feline. The were-jaguar was adorned with ancient-looking Aztec armor or shaman wear, with a loincloth, chest piece, adornments and a light feathery headdress along back his head with two golden earrings from his earlobes. On his wrists and ankles were digi-rings, akin to those who were holy digimon. Though a bewitching beast or 'shaman digimon' as some might call him, he stood with all the pride of one. With his digivolution complete, Zachary gave a confident smile and tossed on his goggles in the blowing rain." Let's go-- JAGUAMON!!" Zachary cheered and pointed a fist forward at Amaranthas. Jaguamon leaped forward-- fast and nimble as he seemed to somehow 'dash through the night air as if nothing was there... save for the small flashes of darkness below his feet and claws. Like a nimble predator he moved out of the light to the best of his ability-- till he was overhead of the center of the arena, the goat in his sights. Light and Darkness orbs formed in each of his paws as he drew a circle in the air, creating a forming seal in front of him-- an Aztech sun calander circle as some might recognize. As the circle flashed, he brought both spheres together much like Lucemon would... " CHAOS WAVE!!" he roared and released a massive spiraling blast of light and darkness. One of his most strongest attacks. Containing the combine powers of light and darkness in one, it would do damage to the Nightmare Soldier Digimon if it hit and casted a wide area to do the damage, not easily dodgable. Clearly the panther was pulling out the big guns early... Or so it seemed anyway. Meanwhile, Zachary looked at the cards he got. While they were not the kind he normally would use-- he was starting to get a general idea of what he could use. He had to use them all so he might as well keep ones he knew and study in reserve. It was times like this he was GLAD he worked at Starmon's Card Shop. :-) OOC: Zachary began his turn and Matrix Digivolved Panthermon into the mighty Jaguamon. Jaguamon attacks with Chaos Wave-- delivering a powerful AOE Light/Darkness fusion attack upon the evil scheming goat.

Amaranthus had to give credit when it was due… That D-Whatever sure knew how to pick a backdrop for a fight! A metropolitan city amidst a nighttime storm… a dark, but ever so flashy field to clash with her foe. The Mephistomon X couldn't help but have a sinister smile as she twirled her parasol above her as the heavens poured… a demonic glee rising up in her as one of the helicopter's searchlights shone on her, she bowing to an invisible audience.
Her affable nature was not sustainable though… her silly demeanor fading as her attention was directed to her opponents in question. A human and his shadowy-feline companion… a rare scenario for her as she rarely bothered with tamers honestly. It just didn't came into her line of work, nor was it particularly congruent with her own morals to pick random fights with them.
This tournament was giving her a very rare opportunity… A chance to let loose her inhibitions and run amuck! The very feeling excited her into a state of giddy euphoria, she leering at Panthermon. "Tough talk for someone with no balls. You can't even use this fight's gimmick without relying on someone else doing the work for you." the fiendess calmly spoke in response to her opponent's boastful speech, a chuckle at his expense as she flaunted a hand of cards that had materialized into her possession before being absorbed into her person as Panthermon skipped to his Ultimate level.
"I always wan̶t̷e̷d̶ ̵a̷ ̷p̶a̵n̴t̵h̴e̸r̷-̷f̸u̷r̴ ̴s̸w̸e̸a̵t̵e̸r̴.̸"
The overgrown man-kitty wasted no time… Amaranthus had to give credit when it was due, he was a fast little bugger. His black fur while camouflaged him well when not in the light from the helicopters, he was forced to ultimately give his position as light fueling his attack lit up. The demon had not much idea of what the attack would be like, so she opted to take what seemed like the safe route and use her one of her advantages over him… wings.
Despite her dainty appearance, the Mephistomon X jumped back as her bat-like wings propelled her upwards several dozen feet… a good call as she'd have no doubt been hit by the dual-elemental attack's berth if she remained on the ground. Clutching hold of the landing gear of the helicopter that had been tracking her, high up in the air. "Missed me ~" she teased, sticking out a violet tongue coyly.
No attack so far from her... She wanted to play with him for a bit.
Amaranthus took to the air, narrowly avoiding Chaos Wave. She is currently latched onto one of the helicopter's landing gear, taunting Jaguamon.
[PASSIVE] Pressured Pain - Mephistomon X adores pain… a true sadist, she enjoys seeing others writhe physically and mentally. Anger and despair only intensify the power of her attacks, dealing increasingly larger damage to victims as the stability of their emotions and fragility of their mental state decreases.
[PASSIVE] Hopeless - Mephistomon X is not a pleasant being to fight against… her every mannerism and movement signifies a being that seeks to toy with you. Indeed, her presence saps away at the fighting spirit of foes… injuries inflicted by Mephistomon X eat away at one's physical and mental stamina more easily, causing foes to run out of strength faster than normal.

Pathermon and Zachary witnessed as the 'twilight' attack impacted to the ground, causing tears and damage to the helipad and parts of the rooftop-- but naturally it was not gonna be that easy. Panthermon caught the glimpse of the Mephistomon fly up and now clung to the helicopter with her playful calls and taunts. Panthermon merely gave a panther's growl at her, but nothing to indicate any further anger. The truth was, like the cat himself, he was cool and collected. He kept his eyes trained on his enemy, letting her talk and taunt. He calmly replied. " Said like someone truly alone. We might be two... but we are stronger together than you could ever understand." " I am thou, thou art I..." Zachary said as he drew his first card, and sensed his partner's determination. Those words were theirs when he first realized Panthermon was born not only of his imagination, but his memory and feelings. He was born from him-- his guardian shadow to protect him in the night. " Digi-Modify!!" Zachary called out and slashed the first card. As Jaguamon felt the new data enter him , he moved once more. Panthermon was in the light of the helicopter that Belphemon X was clinging to-- but he knew better than to act hastily. Once more he took off . With a kick of his rear paws-- darkness formed behind them and he leapt into the night sky. The small platforms and objects of darkness acted like footholds and platforms that Jaguamon easily scaled up higher, as a form of pseudo flight to attempt to catch up to Belphemon. He kept ascending and zig-zagging in the night sky till he was a sizable distance diagonal to the helicopter, and with Amaranthus in his sight. With no more than a grunt, he thrust his claw outward-- launching a spherical blast of data at Belphemon. Angled just right to hit her-- and not merely strike down the helicopter. For all they knew, 'people' could be on board. Like Belphemon-- Jaguamon was cunning too as he didn't waste his movements. While the first attack was powerful and wide-- he used it merely to strike a wide net. The next attack would be fleeting and light, a weak attack to feint and test his foe further as she did to him. It was now a battle of two shadows-- two creatures born of darkness. One with a malevolent and sadistic will, and one born of that same darkness destined to face it.
OOC: (Stating Passives Since Sin did) Telepathy - Jaguamon can telepathically communicate to Zachary to sense and communicate. Shadowstep -- (Passive) Jaguamom, as a jaguar-type digimon, he has amazing nimble, acrobatic and agile movements. He is 25% faster than most, and in addition, his ability to manipulate darkness, allows him to create instinctive pads of dark-energy he can use to jump, scale and land on as a form of 'pseudo-flight' to maneuver in mid-air or fighting airborne enemies. Celestial Cycle -- (Passive) Jaguamon is an embodiment of both day and night deities, and as such is reflective in his very nature when exposed to light and darkness. When exposed to light (natural or environmental effect), he receives a 10% boost to Strength and Defense (his spots become more visible like that of a jaguar). When exposed to darkness (natural or environmental effect), he recovers 5% of his health for every post he is in darkness. Cards Used: Keramon-- Data Blast: The target Digimon fires a corrupted energy attack at the foe. Uses it to shoot at 1/7 Used. No personal attack used this turn. Chaos Wave Cooldown: 1/2.

She had been hoping to keep an air-advantage over the gladiator-esque feline, but to her disliking he was able to keep up with even her through using what appeared to be footholds. She let go of her grip from the helicopter as she saw him launch another dark projectile, though her reaction time was a little too slow for her own liking as the attack slammed her side.
While it WAS a direct hit, all it really seemed to was knock the wind out of her… but it did cause visible confusion in her eyes. That attack was WAY too weak for an Ultimate level attack… Must have been that Keramon card in both their hands. It was only a Rookie level attack sure, but it still stung slightly. If anything, it showed that her opponent was least being smart and withholding their better cards. She hated to admit it, but she was going to have to be cautious!
"Are you mocking me?" she growled with annoyance as she rapidly descended downward as dark energy built up within both hands… she pointing both into the sky, aimed at Jaguamon. "Why don't you dance for me? Chorus en Mortuus!" she yelled out as she unleashed a barrage of colorful projectiles into the sky. While each one was somewhat inaccurate, their density was dangerous and their attempts to curve towards Jaguamon could prove fatal… at least one projectile hitting the central helicopter with a destructive blast and decimating it!
There wasn't someone in that now… was there? Better not to think of it. It would have meant a healthier sleep for everyone involved.
Can't be too cocky about dodging them initially though… Caution would be needed as the attack's projectiles curved downward, landing haphazardly on the building with equally explosive results. It's a good thing neither combatant were on the ground then…
Oh yeah, wasn't the human there? Eh… She was sure that their host would sort it out. She was not intending to harm him, but this was a fight between Ultimate levels… an already increasingly destructive endeavor in just the first round.
Technically that's THEIR fault for sticking around ~
She wasn't quite done though… Trying her best to keep track of the feline, Amaranthus's activated her D-MR as she gritted her teeth, pointing her parasol's tip at Jaguamon as it morphed into a ivory-black horn. "Harpoon Torpedo!" she yelled as it soon rocketed off at him.
This fight was going to be VERY exciting!
Amaranthus took a direct blow Data Blast, albeit not doing much damage due to the level gap. She has unleashed a barrage of Chorus en Mortuus into the sky, heartlessly blowing up a helicopter as the rest of the projectiles rained down onto the rooftop (that's your cue to run Zachary), giving it supporting fire in the form of Harpoon Torpedo
DS-06 Card Name: Ikkakumon Type: Digimon Rank: Silver Duration: 1 Post Harpoon Torpedo: Fires one missile from the top of the target Digimon's head.
Chorus en Mortuus - An empowered Black Sabbath fired up into the air… before exploding into dozens of enemy-seeking projectiles that raze the landscape around Mephistomon X. (Cooldown: 3 Turns)
Cooldowns: Chorus en Mortuus: 3 Turns

Panthermon or rather Jaguamon didn't expect much as his attack did hit. A good sense that he could keep up with the giddy goat. He kept a cool head as she regarded the attack but soon began to play more to her style. She launched the vicious attack skyward-- clearning striking the helicopter as it began to go down-- as did her assault move to bombard the building's ceiling. A brief snap of Jaguamon's alertness told him the obvious. Zachary was in danger. Zachary, run! Panthermon relayed to him, his thoughts and Zachary's thoughts linked. Zachary didn't argue as he saw the dark flashes of light move in. He had the next card ready-- when he saw the attack. Just as he was about to swipe, he stopped and ran! He aimed to get to the 'stairway' at the end of the building to hold on to-- as to go to the very edge was suicide. Jaguamon soon crouched on the pad of darkness he stood on-- and rocketed forward. Soaring above the explosion of the rooftop-- he made it in time to grab Zachary and help him to safety and out of the reach of the explosions. They stopped by the outcropping where the rooftop stairwell was-- the only real place safe left and not on the edge of the building. By the time he made it-- they both heard it. The screeching sound of the incoming missile Amaranthus fired via her card. Just as Jaguamon turned to face it-- Zachary quickly acted and finished swiping the card he was gonna use. The very same Ikakkumon card that the Mephistomon had. BANG!! The missle from Mephistomon exploded leaving a massive dust cloud from the debris as Jaguamon acted to protect his tamer. However... in place of a damaged enemy and human, Mephistomon would be greeted by a different view. A sheen of ice in front of them. Jaguamon had a paw extended having erected the barrier just in time. It seemed Ikkakumon had not just a missile attack, but one that Zachary studied. Another effect was an ice barrier, capable of defending up to champion level attacks successfully. " Boy... I'm really glad we spent so much time working in Starmon's Cardshop..." Zachary sighed in relief. " Agreed." Panthermong growled in reply. The panther saw as the ice wall remained, and took the time to think to Zachary. Stay here and do not move no matter what. Yeah, sure. Zachary agreed, seeing now that the rooftop was riddled with holes and gaps-- leading into the remains of the office building below. Jaguamon now stood in the light of one of the two remaining helicopter spotlights, knowing he had to take the fight away from his tamer. It was when he saw the damage to the roof and the holes that led to the lower floors. A smirk came to Jaguamon as he kept his eyes on Mephistomon. You thinking what I'm thinking? he asked Zachary in telepathy. A reassured smirk came to Zachary as he too saw the gaps in the roof and realized the jungle cat's plan. Is that a rhetorical question? Just be careful. Zachary thought to his partner. With the two's telepathic conversation over for the moment, Jaguamon made a small pounce forward-- and into one of the blasts into the building, landing inside. " Hey Goat-face!" the Jaguar teased as he gave a brief wave from downstairs. " Catch me if you can!" With that, the Jaguar vanished with a sprint inside, using the numerous hallways, rooms, and cubicles to gain a tactical advantage over his enemy. While not a jungle-- it was the concrete jungle, and any cat knew how to use the nooks and crannies to get around. The battle now took a dangerous step forward for them both. Up top, Zachary focused to his Digivice-- and soon saw the HOloscreen appear, allowing him to see what his partner saw. To know just what would happen below.
OOC: Panthermon uses his speed and Shadowsteps to aid Zachary in his escape from the blasts. Reckless goat At the use of Ikkakumon's Harpoon Torpedo-- Zachary used the same card using Icicle Coat: Shields the target Digimon with a thick layer of ice. Damage from Champion attacks is heavily reduced, and damage from Ultimate attacks is reduced to a minor extent as well. Used it to shield self and Zachary in turn. Successful cause same card is champion strength Using the damage that Mephistomon caused to the roof, Jaguamon takes the fight inside as he jumps down into the inside of the building, baiting the goat lady after him. Ikkakumon Card used : 2/7. Chaos Wave 2/2 Cooldown.

Amaranthus was at least getting the general idea of her opponent... They were a nimble foe who definitely had an advantage here in the dark of night, quick thinking from both him and his partner sparing them from both of her attacks. She didn't know the full extent of his natural abilities yet, but it was clear that they had just used her own card against her. She balled her fist in irritation, but an expression of shock would soon form on her face as she saw Jaguamon retreat down into the now open floors of the building that her attack had created.
Who did this punk think he is?!
"Don't you dare run from me!" the Mephistomon X yelled with a vile fury, though being just a tad too late to get down in time to aim an attack at him before he disappeared into the building's depths.
Amaranthus though? She landed on the rooftop sure... but she didn't follow immediately. Rather, the demon goat landed on the rooftop... actually pulling out a cigarette and lighter from her corset's cleavage, struggling to get a flame to light for a moment before finally managing to get it. She for a moment seemed to survey the damage to the rooftop, briefly glancing over to Zachary... her expression unreadable as she seemed to actually dwell on the matter, walking up to the hole that her foe had ran into.
"Hoy. Kid. What's your favorite videogame?" she asked nonchalantly... a strange question in the heat of battle sure. "Personally, I'm quite fond of this one Nintendo Entertainment System game... I believe you call it a NES? Its a puzzle game that requires strategic planning and positioning to complete. You might be familiar of it actually."
Flicking the cigarette down, the goat's hands began to glew... her left with a colorful aura of darkness ala her prior attack, the other with red flames that were practically dying to be freed from her palm. The demon's expression was to say the least a mixture of wrath and glee as their eye flames flickered more intensely. "Its called Wrecking Crew..."
She fire down her Black Sabbath directly down the hole, on impact exploding against a support beam as the entire building seemed to shake violently... inside cracks beginning to form from the inside of some of the top floors. With anymore damage, it was sure to collapse and create a domino effect on each of the floors below! Her left hand still carried the aura of her attack, which she mixed freely with the flames in her right hand, it intensifying as she let out a cackle. "This cocky bastard has a one-way ticket to hell! Hawk Inferno!"
Releasing the flames, it took on the form of an immense flaming hawk that dove down into the building... setting ablaze everything in its path with ruthless abandon! The building's inside were becoming increasingly more and more a death trap as it turned into a inveritable wildfire, the sound of the manic fiendess screeching amidst even the intense flames.
Amaranthus stays up top, launching a Black Sabbath down to severely damage a support beam thats helping to keep the upper floors stable. With the enhanced power from Black Sabbath, she unleashes Valkyriemon's Hawk Inferno to set ablaze the building.
WG-16 Card Name: Valkyrimon Type: Digimon Rank: Platinum Duration: 1 Post Hawk Inferno: The target Digimon launches a flaming hawk forward, which relentlessly tackles its opponent.
Black Sabbath - The user creates a glyph and charges up a colorful, but oh so destructive shot of darkness; exploding with a base radius of 2 meters (increasing by 3 per level above Rookie). For the next two turns, a glpyh surrounds the user's arm, granting a 25% increase to damage and a 25% decrease to defense (the loss of defense is not removable during the move's duration) (Cooldown: 3 Turns)
Durations: Black Sabbath boost: 2 Turns
Cooldowns: Chorus en Mortuus: 2 Turns
Cards used: Ikkakumon Valkyriemon

Jaguamon didn't just wait around as he constantly kept on the move. He had been trying to lead the demon goat on a merry chase and possibly place her in a position to trap her among the many vestages. Zachary watched, sensing him moving about, but soon things didn't turn out as they hoped. Mephistomon soon seemed content to just stand there as she lit a cigarette. The sheer pause made Zachary worry. Jaguamon be careful. She isn't following you... she might try something... he thought. It was then she began to make idle conversation as she powered up a dangerous move. The mention of 'Wrecking Crew" was all the alarm Zachary needed. " Get out of there!" Zachary cried as the Black Sabbath came down. The explosion within the building could be felt everywhere as Jaguamon felt the impact and rattle of the building, knocking ceiling tiles and other objects down and caused the cat to lose his balance for a brief moment. He heard Zachary and knew what was going on. It seemed the damn goat wasn't easily goated. The cat growled as he heard the racket. When the flaming falcon came into play, it wasted no time releasing a powerful explosion. The flames illuminated the halls as Jaguamon saw the flames. His expression lit up as the light grew closer... ... BOOOOM!! The flames and structure began to rattle as even the part of the roof Zachary was on became unstable. Before Zachary could shout at the roof now becoming nothing but rubble-- a ball of light engulfed him. It seemed the people running the tourney didn't want him hurt so he was somehow protected by the sphere, keeping him in the air but only able to watch on helplessly. There was a pause... the explosion going off as if Jaguamon was gone. Zachary looked to his Digivice-- seeing only darkness and static. " Jaguamon...?" he said, gripping his cards and Digivice tensely. Just as Amaranthus would likely feel assured in her overkill tactic, the glow of the fire stretched out her shadow against the rooftop... ... and from it, the shadow silently rose up. The shadow parted, revealing Jaguamon behind her like a phantom. Right at the moment of the bird's explosion, Jaguamon used " Into Darkness" to teleport out of the building. The teleport was just in range to make it back to the roof, and right behind the cocky she-goat. BRRRREEEE!! The flash of light sounded as Jaguamon struck using the powerful slash. The bright light of Angemon's ' Hand of Fate' doing the best to damage. Even though champion, a creature of darkness couldn't easily shake off holy light attacks. Even less if you considered this creature's 'weaknesses now'. Zachary gave a sigh of relief, his card slash happening just in time to time out the attack. The moment he saw Jaguamon appear, he acted and gave his partner a proper opening. " What's wrong, Ama? Someone, got your goat? " the jaguar snickered. OOC: Jaguamon endured the rocking of the building, realized the plan backfired. At Zachary's warning, he timed his move and saw the incoming blazing hawk attack blow up the floor. While Amaranthus relished in her destruction-- Jaguamon used "Into Darkness" to teleport back up top and behind using her own shadow to emerge from. Big mistake He then uses Angemon's Hand of Fate for a powerful light-based attack upon her from behind and with her guard down (presumably). Into Darkness -- Jaguamon manipulates the shadows around him to easily eclipse himself-- and vanishes. Through this, he can easily teleport through shadows to escape from harm. While the teleportation can only be done in short distances (max of 50 meters), it can be used to teleport himself and one ally (human or digimon) to escape mortal danger. (Cooldown 2 posts) Angemon's Hand of Fate: The target Digimon's upper limb becomes coated in consecrating holy energy, allowing for one light charged punch, slash, scratch or slap. Counting in Black Sabbath's reduced defense, and Mephistomon's natural weakness to light, wagering the attack would do a LOT more damage than just the card alone Cards used 3/7

This building was going to be doomed in a matter of minutes... and depending on how far down that dumb cat was, with him in it. The Mephistomon laughed mockingly as she twirled her parasol. "Awww... did I hurt your puddytat? Don't worry, I'm sure you can get a new one from the pet store down the stre-" she cruelly spoke... before being interrupted as a burning sensation slashed at her back, a sickly holy presence causing her to falter.
A teleport behind her? And she thought SHE was a dirty fighter... she kneeling slightly before managing to get back up. The surprise hit did a good number on her, coupled with just the fact that light like that burned her flesh... she glared at the cocky feline behind her with murderous intent.
"The shadows...?! Heh... Heheh!" the demoness briefly exclaimed but soon enough began to cackle, beginning to walk towards Jaguamon. It was subtle, but the laughter almost seemed to echo as the darkness around the arena seemed to intensify into a wreath of colorful hues of indigo hues with heart and lip decals emanating and lighting the area. Amaranthus's laughter grew even more manic, her necking creaking to twist in a unnatural way to her nearby opponent. "You... idiot... You just walked directly into my deadliest technique!"
The Jaguamon would feel as if his own energy was being sapped away, Amaranthus's own wounds slowly patching up harvesting the data from his body... a feeling of weakness plaguing his physical form. "This is my Rota Fortunae. Just try and run NOW." the demon taunted, chuckling through even the pain. Taking that to heart was a very bad idea though... So much as even trying to take a step on the ground or even a step of darkness from that cat's air-walking technique would do little more but trip him up and leave him prone... Not even ice was this difficult to move in! "Once you are in my Rota Fortunae, you are at MY mercy... This technique HAS no weaknesses!" she boasted, her manic laughter filling the air.
A bold statement certainly, but being prone like this while so close to her...? This was a very bad position to be in. Only a couple meters away, Amaranthus smiled as Piedmon's four blades appeared by her side. "Now then... How about I deliver what you did to me? T̴e̸n̷ ̴f̷o̶l̸d̸..." she mockingly spoke... launching the four blades in a attempt to skewer Jaguamon to the ground.
Amaranthus took a good, surprise hit from Jaguamon's Hand of Fate... but being in such close proximity with her has allowed her to trigger her Fortunae Rota and all its effects. She begins to walk towards Jaguamon, launching Piedmon's Trump Sword in a attempt to skewer him to the ground.
DA-18 Card Name: Piedmon Type: Digimon Rank: Chrome-Digizoid Duration: 1 Post Trump Sword: The target Digimon summons Piedmon's four swords and launches them at their foe.
[RAM UPGRADE] Rota Fortunae - Mephistomon X creates a zone of 15 meters of distorted darkness around herself; the air filled with glyphs resembling heart or kiss marks while the echoes of laughter assault enemies. For three turns, Mephistomon X is significantly slowed (only able to casually walk to her foes) less she breaks the move... but all who enter this zone will find themselves at the mercy of Mephistomon X as this area she completely controls. A number of effects apply.
- The lifeforce of others is slowly drained; gradual damage taken per turn while in the presence of Rota Fortunae - The ground is slippery and completely untraversable. Anyone on the ground will be practically incapable of moving except by flailing about. Prone foes suffer from reduced defenses. Oddly, it doesn't seem to affect you if you are in highheels... - Projectile-users are not much better off either; any foreign projectile that enters the zone is slowed down significantly. Mephistomon X can completely redirect any projectiles up to Ultimate level that reaches her with a mere flick of a wrist at the cost of cancelling out Rota Fortunae. - Finally, control over standard electronics (i.e non-Digivices) is usurped by Mephistomon X; they acting as a focal to further spread the influence of Rota Fortunae. This can allow Mephistomon X to expand the affected region to up to three times the regular size provided the area is dense with them. (Cooldown: 6 Turns)

The attack hit and Mephistomon X took on a serious blow to her. Zachary almost cheered at the impact. She clearly was hurt by it as Jaguamon took a step back-- but it was too little- too late. Her claim was soon made, and the perfume like cloud and glyphs appeared to encompass her and Jaguamon being too close. He was suddenly struck by a strong fatigue that ravaged his body. His feet couldn't grab traction, even on his shadow step ability as the strange power seeped around him. It effected his ability too. Little by little it was sapping his energy. " D-Damnit... " he growled, feeling as if gravity was now against him, but it was more a curse within the range of the this mess. He was stuck! " JAGUAMON!!" Zachary cried, banging on the bubble that kept him in the air. Jaguamon remained there, still and unable to do much. He refused to show fear or even give up-- he had faith in his partner even as he saw the swords materialize and went flying after him. " Digi-Modify!!" Zachary cried as he crossed his arms and slashed the card through. " Taomon's Talisman Spell, ACTIVATE!!" At that moment before the swords truck-- a barrier of light engulfed Jaguamon. The swords smashed against the shiled-- however the shield showed cracks. After a bit of an assault and Jaguamon bracing himself-- the shield cracked and one of the swords got through, delivering a blow against him. He let out a jaguar's growl as the attack hit, but luckily the damage was mitigated by the shield if mildly. Though a stop-gap measure, the card came in handy. Zachary acted just in time-- but it couldn't stop Amaranthus's affliction curse "Rota Fortunae/Wheel of Fortune". Jaguamon was still stuck and the energy-sapping out of him, even with her slow advance. As the smoke from the attack faded, it showed Jaguamon kneeling over, seemingly prone. However, a growl came from him as he looked up to Amaranthus with a steely look of resolve. " Nice trick. Suits you...but you know what they say about cats right?" the jaguar said as he knelt up, his paws clenched together. It was then that he opened them, revealing two small spheres of light and darkness. " CHAOS WAVE!!" he roared-- having prepared the attack behind the cover of the Taomon's barrier. A wave of mixed light and darkness erupted right in front of him, spreading in a cone-shaped movement wave outward with Amaranthus in its path! The attack had two goals-- being a far and wide area attack, it wasn't one easily dodged or deflected due to the nature of the shape of the wave. (Not to mention Amaranthus own movement issue.) However, the second one was the position of the Chaos Wave wouldn't hit her alone. Considering the state she had done recklessly destroying the rooftop and the rest of the structure, the ground they stood on would surely give if suffered another assault of damage. More specifically any place beyond where Jaguamon knelt. The ravaging blast of unified light and darkness surged outward, leaving Amaranthus with few options.
Jaguamon left damage on her but the goat girl released her Wheel of Fortune that now has him stuck and sapping his strength/health. At the attempt to hit him in this state-- Zachary uses Taomon's card to create a protective shield to minigate the attack. Jaguamon took some damage due to the strength of swords against his shield, but survived and still kicking. With the cover of the shield-- if briefly-- Jaguamon releases Chaos Wave once more. The wide arc of twilight power can strike Amaranthus at near point-blank range at this point. But the second goal is to destroy the ground on which she stands-- sending her falling into the building further. (The Goal-- doing damage and using terrain instability to get out of the range of her Wheel of Fortune.) Taomon's Talisman Spell: The target Digimon summons a barrier of light. Damage from Ultimate attacks is heavily reduced, and damage from Mega attacks is reduced to a minor extent as well. Chaos Wave-- Jaguamon draws in both light and darkness into his paws in wide movements of his arms, then brings them together. An Aztec circle, the calendar, appears in front of him as he thrusts his arms forward. The result of the circle creates a blast of light and darkness energies. It impacts a wide area and deals 50% extra damage to enemies who are influenced by 'imbalance of power' ( AKA: Corrupted Digimon by unnatural dark energies/Dark digivolution) (Cooldown 2 posts). Note: Not sure but I think your Wheel of Fortune might justify? Cards Used: 4/7 Into Darkness Cooldown: 1/2

It was indeed true that Amaranthus was slowed to a brisk walk, but as Jaguamon might found out… she was a goddamn roadrunner compared to the pace that Chaos Wave would find itself at. It bellowing outward was like a gentle paint stroke, barely reaching an arms length from by the time Amaranthus got to him. "This attack again? Don't you have anything new?" Amaranthus mused with an almost disappointed expression…
Sure she couldn't actually walk around it, but it was child's play for the goat to swish her parasol outward to buffer through the slow-velocity attack's brunt so as to cut a path clean through it, it not able to even deal environmental damage in time to destroy the ground beneath them… whatever flickers of chaotic energy that touched her as she walked through doing barely anything. "Welcome to Rota Fortunae's other property… Any projectile that is not my own is slowed to a snail's pace. An attack like that is useless here." she coldly explained before suddenly raising a hand.
Her fingers extended out into a mass of cables, aiming to grapple Jaguamon's arms as she dispersed her parasol into data. While the cables did disperse out painful electricity, it was mostly irritating for an Ultimate like Jaguamon. That wasn't its purpose though.
With Jaguamon in no condition to dodge at such close range, grabbing hold of least one arm should have been easy. With a dark smile, Amaranthus flexed her fingers on her other hand. "D'awww, you're so cute when helpless! It would be a real shame if your tamer pulled out that Infermon or Piedmon card he still has in his hand." she giggled, taunting Zachary and Jaguamon. As far as she knew, no card was able to help them here... She laughed before aiming a swift poke at a leg of his.
An attack? Most possibly, but it was no more than a gesture by itself. Touching Jaguamon's leg was the real trigger for the technique, even if it seemingly would do nothing initially. If it anything it was almost like a playful boop.
Chaos Wave is slowed to a crawl by Rota Fortunae, its snail-like velocity allowing Amaranthus to easily just wade through it with her parasol (the rest of it lingering behind her). Using Keramon's Corruption Cable to attempt grappling Jaguamon's arms and keep him from moving briefly, she aims for a poke at one of Jaguamon's legs. If successful, Pop Goes is activated.
ME-01 Card Name: Keramon Type: Digimon Rank: Bronze Duration: 1 Post Corruption Cable: The target Digimon launches several wires from it's body that entangle the foe and send a dark current through their body.
Pop Goes - … the target if this attack hits. Mephistomon X jabs at her foe with her fingers… seemingly doing nothing. One turn later however, the affected region will swell before exploding in a vile blast of pure pain dealing catastrophic damage to the foe and immeasurable pain. The attack's brutality is enough to potentially render a limb useless for the remainder of the fight without significant healing; able to kill weakened ones outright! The one drawback is it requires her to actually touch you, but this also means you cannot defend against it if she can reach you! (Cooldown: Once Per Thread)

This was bad. The attacked should have worked but at the moment of the impact, the wave became a crawl. Not only was she able to block 'somehow'-- but the movement of the attack was slowed down, as if time itself was slowed. Somehow she had control of all in this space, totally dominating her surroundings in terms of enemy attacks. He grimaced, hoping to at least separate her from the ground but that didn't seem to go...
Jaguamon growled at his attempt to break free seem to fail as he felt the energy drain still. Even with the darkness of night healing him with his passive abilities, it wasn't enough to completely offset the drain on his energy. He had to start getting away and now.
As she explained how her Wheel of Fortune slowed any projectiles-- it became clear to Jaguamon what her strategy was. Her fighting style, and sick little game. As she approached-- he saw the cables come out of her hand, attempting to strangle him up.
It was at that moment, as she began to mock them-- Jaguamon's eyes lit up and he let out a panther's roar! Suddenly, an Aztec sun-circle appeared below Jaguamon's body and he released the roar. The cords that reached out for him soon were repelled as a dome-shaped barrier appeared with the growing circle. "Ancestral... Aegis...!" he roared, triggering his powerful defense.
From above, Zachary watched as his ultimate defense appeared-- a magic Aztec barrier that used spiritual energy to repel enemy attacks upon him. Since the cords and the 'poke' was nowhere near powerful enough to break it-- Jaguamon was safe. Even inside the barrier, he felt less taxed now. The barrier would push Amaranthus back-- denying her any further advance.
"As I said... we cats have nine lives..." he growled, his eyes staring at her with defiance. As if in a prayer like those of Aztec priests who would be on their knees, gesturing to the sun-- the magic circle began to lift up, and carry Jaguamon with it. Despite her movement-hindering ability, the magic platform of light lifted him up and began to move towards the night sky and off the ruined skyscraper, attempting to move him further out of Amaranthus' range.
Preparing for good measure, Zachary was relieved the shield went up just as she would advance. He had a chill go up to his spine at her advance, feeling the same issue Jaguamon did. For good measure, Zachary swiped another card-- Infermon's Raised Status. The card's energy further fortified Jaguamon's defense-- if briefly improving his conditions to survive for the moment. He knew too-- Jaguamon couldn't attack while the shield was in place as his focus allowed the shield to also be mobile and fly, much like Taomon's own Talisman spell.
OOC: His move unsuccessful-- Jaguamon is faced with the incoming attacks, but he then triggers his ultimate defense. Uses Ancestral Aegis to protect against t ouch and Keramon's cable attack. Shield still endures and now moves via its ability to fly-- and ascends to get out of the Wheel of Fate's effect.
Ancestrial Aegis-- Jaguamon conjures the spiritual energies (or digital in this case) of nature around him to create the Aztech sun-stone below him. Him and nearby allies within the circle around him are protected by a shield of aspected energy, capable of enduring up to 1 Ultimate level attack or lessening the blow of a mega attack. Shield lasts 3 posts, and cooldown after is 2 posts. This shield may also fly airborne. While the shield is active, Jaguamon cannot use other abilities.
Shield Durability: Endured 1 rookie-level attack, and 1 'touch'. The shield is stable. 1/3 duration.
Cards Used : Infermon's Raised Status: The target Digimon's exterior becomes more solid than before, raising defense briefly.
Into Darkness: 2/2 Cooldown complete.
Chaos Wave: 1/2 Cooldown.

So the little shit had some tricks still up his sleeve? Amaranthus scowled as her jab was being forced away by the bubble of energy, though despite her dainty appearance the fiend was not relenting. It might have looked like a simple poke, but the way she was brute forcing her finger…? She was NOT letting a shitty shield ruin her ultimate technique. The cataclysmic energy that was meant to be injected into the hardened Jaguamon's body was seeped into the sphere of energy, creating a very… let's say explosive scenario.
That energy would essentially explode from the inside out of the bubble before he could float away! Not even Amaranthus herself was completely unscathed as she was thrown back some, her heels making scrapes at the ruined ground that was falling apart before them. Even if it wasn't the intended result, it would make one wonder what WOULD have happened had it went by successfully.
"Bastard…" she muttered, though at the same time realizing that her footing was disappearing. She hissed as she soon took flight, the rooftop seemingly finally beginning to collapse. With that last vestige of ground, Amaranthus was forced to dispel her Rota Fortunae a tad earlier for her own liking… but she wasn't making it go out without a bang. "Time is money… and now, time moves again! Chaos Wave!" she yelled as suddenly the slowed attack of Jaguamon's from earlier suddenly whipped up into the air, curving as it was directed into that shield of his.
She didn't imagine it would do much besides force the shield's destruction, but she wasn't going to let a good attack go to waste. "I underestimated you… I'm not playing around anymore!" she yelled as she pointed her parasol at Jaguamon. "Omni Typhoon!" she yelled as she twirled it rapidly, creating a wild surge of wind directed towards Jaguamon.
Pop Goes while fails to touch Jaguamon, the intense energy that was to be injected is instead mixed with the shield, creating an unavoidable explosion from within (even hitting Amaranthus some). Amaranthus is forced to dispel Rota Fortunae, but uses the prior Chaos Wave to attack Jaguamon. She follows up by whipping up Angemon's Omni Tornado.

The shield was about to move upward... but things escalated quickly as the sheild's boundary glowed and erupted-- destroying the inside. Alarm showed on Jaguamon's face as in his 'armored' state from the card Zachary used, he saw his defense crumble. " Grrree--" KA-BOOM!! The shield exploded, and knocked into Amaranthus too. However, it didn't end there as Zachary watched as the annoying goat decided to hit him with a barrage of attacks. The chaotic blast of light and dark-- and the angel's tornado twisting up the remains... " Jaguamon!! " Zachary screamed, now far away in the bubble like a moon in the sky. As the twister raged, it made it hard to see... not a trace was left of Jaguamon to be seen... ... ... (Turning Point Music)
IN the shadow of the building below, despite the flame and damage of the structure itself, shadows warped and a shaped appeared, knelt to one of the few 'catwalks of the building left. THe shadows took shape and appeared Jaguamon. Singes were along his black fur-- now firmed up but soon faded as he gave soft pants of exhaustion. At the moment his shield was destroyed by the explosion, he took action. His own shadow below consumed him-- and he teleported out just as the destruction occurred. The armor that Zachary gave him from Infermon-- though seemingly subtle, was a grace as he escaped with minimal damage possible. The rest of the attacks, hitting nothing but air and continued to rage as the tornado blew. Escaped by a whisker... Jaguamon spoke in his mind-- and Zachary heard it instantly. Jaguamon?! You're okay?! he thought frantically. Jaguamon kept himself from letting out a growl of annoyance. A little banged up but fine. As he thought and kept an eye out, he listened and hid in the shadows for the moment. He felt the darkness revitalize him a little bit but it was only going to get him so far. I admit-- that was a close one.I'm sorry... Zachary thought in frustration. I should of done something different to--No. The Jaguar gave a sharp interruption, his mental-tone assuring. You did well. If anything your instinct to use that card's defensive strength was well put. Had you not, I would of taken far more damage in my narrow escape. Neither of us could of anticipated what that goat was up to. he added with a hint of amusement. Right now, we need to focus on our next move and to make it quick as this fight cannot drag on more than it has.Zachary up in the sphere, had a tense look on his face, trying to find him but couldn't see him. If it was hard for him-- it was hard for the Mephistomon too. What do we do? he thought in telepathy. For starters, I now understand her little game, Jaguamon said, his memory sharp on the actions she took. She may not look it, but she excels in direct, close-quarter combat. The range attacks are to deal with enemies at a distance but her true power is to entrap enemies with that aura, then get up close to deal crippling and fatal damage. Her very essence is like poison, which is why I tried to not let a single hand on me. And I doubt that is all of her little tricks. Which is why you didn't use your melee attacks up till now... Zachary thought. Exactly. The only chance for a direct attack against her is like before. From a position she cannot see coming and one that she can't defend against. he thought to him and began to move to another nook to climb up to. Zachary grimaced as he looked at the devastation, the two remaining helicopters continuing to use their lights to illuminate the parts of the battlefield and their enemy. He still held on to his cards, trying to figure out how he could help his Digimon. He looked to the two he could still use... Piedmon and Valkarymon-- those he saved for the right time. His anxiety settled a bit as he took a breath. I think I can help with that. It has been a good thing I saved these cards." Jaguamon let out a small smirk-- sensing what his partner did and felt the data of the new card flow through his body. Recovering what strength he could from the shadows-- Jaguamon took off with his "ShadowStep" to 'run' in the air and ascend the building. *** By now, presuming if Amaranthus was able to tell that the Jaguar wasn't 'dedigitized' and survived, she might be growing a touch frustrated to have the cat slip out of her claws. However, Jaguamon was now 'ran' off the edge of the building, keeping to the surrounding air-space of the ruined skyscraper with the platforms of darkness he generated. No longer under the control of her movement-impairing attack, he was free to move again and at his true speed. He didn't intend to get caught by her again. He used what time he could to soak up the darkness around him, restoring his energy-- at least should the helicopter shine on him. OOC Notes: Right at the moment of Ancestral Aegis explosion (totally not cool for the record >< ) "Into Darkness" has recovered from cooldown and Jaguamon teleported in the nick of time to escape the full damage of the attack. ALl the other attacks are recklessly thrown into ... well nothing due to his far-reached teleport to the dark side of the building. After a small telepathic dialog (For readers and plot moments ), Jaguamon and Zachary form a plan. Zachary uses a card to help. Back on the move, Jaguamon sprints to the surrounding air-space around the building to stay in the night as long as possible to heal via "Celestial Cycle's" boon on darkness for now. Card Used: Piedmon's Clown Trick: The target Digimon leaves an illusion in its stead, confusing foes as to which one is the real fighter. Ancestral Aegis now on cooldown: 1/2 Into Darkness-- Used to Escape and on cooldown. Chaos Wave: 2/2 cooldown complete. 6/7 Cards Used. Hidden Detail in spoiler below due to that Amaranthus shouldn't be able to have active knowledge of this. While out of sight and climbing back up with Shadowstep-- Jaguamon used Piedmon's power to create an illusion of himself on the move as one is trying to gain distance away, another is somewhere else. An unknown decoy.

Amaranthus was getting tired... not physically, but more just mentally her patience for this fight. How can this damn cat keep slipping through her attacks? She was throwing every single goddamn attack she possibly could, yet seeing the dust clear and Jaguamon nowhere in sight caused the demoness to screech an unholy screech as she clenched her fist.
This fight wasn't a fight... it was a goddamn sham. He might have looked like a warrior, but the way he fought was cowardly in her eyes. At least die like a man!
Still, this was giving her a moment of respite to think. Sure the cat got some good licks on her, but their offensive game was subpar without those cards. A key thing she has noticed is only one attack of his so far has actually been his own… many of his own abilities were definitely defensive in nature and capable of stalling, they relying on cards to amount an offense.
It was their defensive abilities that was making the fight far more difficult than it should have been, but if there was one thing Amaranthus had an advantage in... it was longevity. Her abilities specialized in reaping the pain and frustration of her enemies while depleting their stamina... every blow would be more painful than the last. As strong as Ultimate levels were, even they couldn't fight or defend forever… one way or another, one of them would collapse just from energy expenditure!
Still, where was their counterattack? They were definitely not dead… but the rules of this fight practically required them to keep utilizing their cards or risk expulsion from the fight. From process of elimination seeing what they HAD used against her (after all, she would know just as well as they did what the cards could do since she had the same ones), she was able to deduce that the human still had Piedmon and Valkyriemon left… Mega strength cards. Valkyriemon was an entirely offensive-type card, and she'd see its projectiles a mile away! They either were throwing Trump Sword at her, or trying to reposition with Clown Trick… why run though?
The Mephistomon X scowled, glaring briefly at Zachary a distance away suspended in that bubble. She was… not impressed to say the least. "Can all that cat of yours do is run away? He's a figurative and literal pussy..." she irritably spoke to him directly, shielding herself from the rain once more with her parasol. Any manner of giggly politeness she once had was no longer evident. "That teleporting ability of his… its a pain for sure, but he can't run forever. I don't know what you two are trying to do, but if he can't keep up with my offense? Either he will run out of energy or this match will come to a decision..."
She suddenly drew in a host of dark energy, forming an aura around herself… it evident that she had powered up. Her skin itself had also took on a metallic sheen, similar to that of the card they had just used earlier… it clear that that the demoness was forming a tight-knit defense in prep for retaliation. "The longer this fight goes on… The gap between me and victory shortens. You CANNOT win!"
Amaranthus took this time to strategize, engaging in a bit of trashtalk with Zachary before powering up with Payment Received. She has used Infermon's Raised Status to boost her defenses for next turn. (The fight's length should finally be having her Hopeless and Pressured Pain passives starting to have a more clear impact as well.)
ME-10 Card Name: Infermon Type: Digimon Rank: Gold Duration: 1 Post Raised Status: The target Digimon's exterior becomes more solid than before, raising defense briefly.
[RAM UPGRADE] Payment Received - Mephistomon X draws power from her Dark Contracts, gaining might from those who have dealed with her. For three turns, Mephistomon X gains a 10% boost to her all of her stats... increasing by a further 2% for every Apostle player account she has made a contract with, and 5% if they are in the thread. OOCly, she can only benefit from this for 1 character per player. If that player has not been on-site for 3 months, this benefit vanishes until then. The max boost this can offer is 50%.
