Name: Mariko Sasaki
Alias: Mari, Riko, etc
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Height: 5’5
Weight: 116 lbs
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Birth Date: 2-15
Birth Place: Yokohama, Kanegawa, Japan
Skills/Talents:
Green Thumb - Mari has a strange way with botany, being able to grow just about anything in their proper conditions and in the right amount of time. However, she often relegates this talent in agricultural stuff towards growing flowers.
Archery™ - Mari’s in the archery club. She’s not too shabby with a bow, as a result, and has a good amount of upper body strength as a result.
Digivice: A standard D-Tector. The grip and base of the digivice are colored/patterned in a way similar to her sprite spirit’s dress, with the plate around the screen being similar to the grip.
Personality: Mari is best described as a prickly exterior with a much softer interior than one would expect. She usually regards everything and everyone with a sour look on her face and what one can assume to be a genuine disinterest, so it's perfectly normal for her to end up driving people wanting to try befriending her (for some godforsaken reason) away. Those who manage to stick around Mariko for an extended period of time, however, may end up being subject to the warmer side of the girl. It's worth noting that Mariko also does not tend to express affection very well, if at all. She also has a rather striking sense of right and wrong, and is prone to lashing out with physical force towards people who end up causing her or her few friends distress. Mariko also has a fondness towards plants, specifically flowers. She's pretty much able to completely take control of a conversation if it steers towards botany.
Appearance: Standing at around five feet, five inches, Mariko's most striking trait is her green hair. No, it's not natural at all. In actuality, she was born with black hair, and has some rather vibrant green eyes, too. She doesn't have any scars along her body, but she does, notably enough, possess a figure befitting someone who does archery club after school a bunch, in that she’s got a lightly toned figure. When it comes down to Mari's wardrobe, she's usually found either in her school uniform, or a jacket/skirt/t-shirt combo. Whenever she's found in the Digital World, her attire shifts to a white shirt underneath a leather chestpiece, and a red skirt, with matching shoes and leggings. It's all topped off with a headband, too. Don't worry, she doesn't get it either.

FaceClaim: Kantai Collection • Zuikaku • Sasaki Mariko
Personal History: Mariko's life has mainly been something that one could consider nomadic, and almost devoid of anything one could call permanent when it came to living arrangements. In an age where most families are perfectly fine being sedentary, no less. In order to grasp this sort of history a touch better, let us start from the beginning. Mariko was born to a Japanese mother, and a Venezuelan father about 16 years ago. Both were rather avid travelers that had met studying abroad, before coming (back, in her mother’s case) to Japan to settle down and have Mari.
While much of her early childhood was spent growing up within Yokohama, Mari spent the later part of it moving from city to city on account of her parents’ occupation as engineers, and as such grew up rather distant from her peers, something which didn't necessarily help an already sour attitude towards others. This continued until Mari had finally hit high school, wherein her family moved a final time to Shibuya. She's currently in her second year, and has more than a vested interest in botany and floristry in terms of goals for the future. Mari's unfortunately under the impression that she (and her family) will not remain in Shibuya for long, but she's trying to do her best academically while she's still there.
Spirit Element: Poison
Sprite Spirit
Species: Arimon
Appearance:
(Credit to Katherine Jasso / Tsukiko & The Ashikaga Clan for allowing me to use his art!)
Attribute: Virus
Family/ies: Nature Spirits
Type: Plant
Fighting Style: Using a combination of agility and dirty tricks, Arimon's sole purpose is to poison her enemy until it falls over and dies. She's a very, very dirty fighter, and will press every advantage she is given.
Abilities:
Toxic [Passive]: Almost all of Arimon’s moves are capable of leaving her foe poisoned. This takes the form of a system of stacks that are harmful for an opponent to possess. Every move that has text reading something like ‘leaves the opponent poisoned’ actually just leaves a single Poison Counter™ on them. They can have a maximum of two counters on them, with a single poison counter fading after two turns, or upon being hit by the appropriate healing ability (which is really any ability capable of healing). The counters naturally stack and deal 3% damage per counter, capping off at 6% per turn.
Toxoglobe: Arimon spits out a ball of poison from her mouth. The globe sails for a single target, and upon making contact, applies a poison counter and irritates the living hell out of whatever region of the body it hits. One turn cooldown.
Venomacle: Arimon extends her hands (or feet) into ludicrously long (for a rookie) tentacles that she attempts to lash an enemy with. These are as venomous as her Toxoglobes or her claws, and leaves the enemy poisoned. Two turn cooldown.
Toxiswipe: Arimon takes a swipe at her opponent using the claws found upon her hands, which have the capability of cutting deep if one isn’t careful. One post cooldown.
Venomous Skin (RAM Upgrade): Arimon’s entire body becomes covered in a variant of her venom that leaves her capable of withstanding one rookie-level attack or below without much consequence, and as per the name, applies a counter to the attacker if it’s a melee attack. Three turn cooldown.
Ari Lancer (RAM Upgrade): Arimon attempts to drive a lance formed from her tentacles through an opponent’s digicore. This move will remove all poison counters on an enemy, but deals 20% more damage per counter removed, capping off at 40% more damage overall on top of the severe damage this can deal. Four turn cooldown.
