Sho merely nodded to the blonde as he passed, heading down another turn and at least a dozen shelves to reach his destination. Finding the section on human books was easier than it was the last time, no doubt due to the fans of it in the club. Sho had enough sense in his soul to know that the last thing Carrie wanted was digital world literature, so he began to dig his fingers into whatever human fantasies he could find, translated or not. The Neverending Story, Grimm's, Alice in Wonderland, Phantom Tollbooth, any number of fantastical classics that were the furthest from a digital world. That's what he picked up and stacked under his arm before turning out into the lounge. What was a library without a place to relax? That being said, the different sofas and pillows they had were irrelevant. He had to make the perfect seating for this one person, spend the most effort possible just to restore their faith. Sho could remember being faithless too, that sickly feeling that made his whole body want to crumple up. If he could keep that memory in mind, the will to sooth that feeling, it'd be perfect, he could feel it. That one sofa was just about the fluffiest, pillow stuffed thing in the room by the time he was done. Even so, the greatest work he'd have to do was still back in the lobby, and it wasn't his travel journal... If Yuko hadn't brought her back yet, the situation might've only gotten worse from there. With a calm stride, Sho walked back to the entrance with his books underarm, struck with a pang of stress at the sight of Carrie and quelling it desperately at the same time. He plopped himself down beside her, slowly, his mouth pursed closed whilst his mind began to riot.
Use your words.
You don't have to remind me.
Do you know what to say? Can you recite it, just once?
I don't have to.
...Good~
The voice disappeared on its own. He could feel his chest racing from the stress of thinking, but it didn't feel like it was stopping him. "Carrie, do you want a place to breathe? There is a place here that's just like a normal library, and I'm sure it wouldn't kill you to stay in a place more like home." He tried to put his request across softly, slowly filling in the silence left by her shouting. Quiet is a powerful tool, a tool he was skilled in using...

Dracmon had taken a seat on top of the receptionist’s counter, and soon started laughing when Carrie tripped on her pills, holding his exposed stomach and rocking his small legs back and forth. “NYAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Looks to me like you’re having a field trip in the Digital World! Get it? A field trip!” “Shut the fuck up! I mean it!” Yuko glared at her partner Digimon with enough intensity that even he knew that she was serious. She quickly turned back to the crying Carrie, sweating as she tried to think of the best way to console the poor girl.
In the end, she held the girl’s one shoulder, while her other hand held the back of her head. “Hey, look at me. It’s okay… I also hate this messed up world, and Jokermon, and the fact that I had this destiny thrust upon me without anyone asking me if I wanted this… You know what I did back home when I hated everything? I found the first inanimate object I could get my hands on beat the shit out of it! I guess my point is… when life kicks your ass, you have to kick it back, you know?” Prooobably not the best kind of advice, but hey, Yuko was trying her best.
Sho soon rejoined them, letting Carrie know that he had found the perfect place for her to sit down and relax. Yuko smirked at that. “See? Your knight in shining armor is looking out for your comfort! How about we follow him? Can you get up? Do you need my help?” She asked, ready to help the other girl if she needed any help, but allowing her to take her time if she needed.

The girl sniffled, hugging her new friend. She really wished she didn't make every friend like this... "I... yeah. Let's go. I just wanted to check out some books." She stood up a bit shakily and grabbed her backpack, looking through it to make sure nothing was too badly damaged. Miraculously a few papers were crumpled and that's all. "I uh... I need to get my medicine. I don't want some kid or digimon to get hurt from eating my..." She looked at the bottle to make sure how serious this was. "Oh, this... yeah we need to get these as fast as possible." She wiped some tears and passed the bottle to her friend before turning to Sho, following wherever he may go.
"Lead the way... I'm really sorry. It always goes like this and... it was even worse when it was just Gotsumon if you could believe it. I still have 3 more of these stupid things to find... but I... I don't want to." She sighed and shook her head. "I can't tell a therapist the truth, I'd get locked up. I don't even think the pills work anymore. I- I'm not a violent person, I can't just attack things, even just... just hitting something on accident breaks me up..."

There was a smile that beamed across Sho's face once he saw Carrie collect herself in Yuko's arms. Just like the shining knight he was made out to be, he bowed head to toe before raising to attention and turning around to lead them back. He knew the Bastemon in his heart had a different idea about that motion, but for now, he could disregard that. Sho moved back through the corridors of the library, listening to Carrie's explanation with a careful ear.
The hearts they carry must not be one of ours. Why choose someone without the will to act?
She shouldn't have to deal with this at all...
That's not what you think.
Maybe so, but can't they understand how she feels?
We can. If we took hold of their data, we could shape it and tame it on our own!
That would kill her!
Aren't you hungry~
No.
Sho blinked a little to tune back into what was just said, coming upon the alcove of human literature he prepared...although, thinking that hard, wouldn't he have stopped in his tracks? He wouldn't mention it. "Here we are! In we go..." Sho put in a gallant whisper, bowing once again and showing off the fluffy, comfy sofa he'd prepared, moving in to place down the books he picked out beside her and placing himself down in an opposite chair. If he was reading a book, he wouldn't even consider a chair...but for the time being, he would have to talk a little more. "Do you read a whole lot? I could prepare this for you as many times as you like..." He sighed, sitting down and stretching out his legs. "I might be a little biased though... It's rough enough being like this so I always come here to relax. It may not all be the same, but I'm a Spirit User too. That's what I'm told we're called at least." Sho explained, a hand on his chest when he talked about being all the things he was. Maybe, just maybe, his perspective could be of value to her...

Crap, Yuko still hadn’t really mastered the art of hugging. She did hug Carrie back, though, even if it was a bit awkward. She then helped her get up and pick her bag off the floor, but there was still the issue of all the pills scattered around. “Damn… I’m no doctor, but this shit must be dangerous if the safety instructions cover half the bottle.” The punk girl agreed as she held the bottle in her hand. “If you want my opinion, looney pills are just an excuse for doctors to get richer while making their patients feel shittier. You don’t need them.”
Soon, the three teenagers made their way further into the library with Dracmon following after them, giggling to himself as he gathered the pills off the floor. “Hihihihi… Looney pills, eh? That sounds fun~!”
The Japanese delinquent would sit on the comfy sofa, making sure to sit close to Catherine. She examined the books that Sho had brought for them. “Real world literature, huh? I guess that’s cool. Not really what I was hoping to find, though… I dunno, what do you think Carrie?” She asked the other girl.

"I'm still in college, and still wanna learn stuff, I thought I could read more about... here." She said, dejectedly. "But I think I'd prefer some normal books for once..." The girl gave a soft smile and sat down. "I'm sorry I'm such a chore. I... I don't wanna be but it always ends up that way." She set her bag on her lap, offering the two a seat beside her.
Her reaction to the mention of losing her pills was uh... negative. Very, firmly, strongly negative. "NO! I-I mean no... I need these. I'm an absolute mess without them. I uh... it's embarrassing but last time I forgot them I uh..." Carrie paused and remembered last time. Gotsumon destroyed some poor ice cream stand, D'arcmon almost went on a rampage in her theology class, colors just broke out of their positions and leaked onto the floor like water from an aquarium, she snapped at her parents and friends at the most minor slight. It was a terrifying, confusing, and almost lethal day when she neglected to refill her medications.
"I need my medicine. I'm studying to be a pharmaceutical chemist, so I can confirm all of my medicine are really, really important... b-but I interrupted you two... I'm sorry about... everything. You can talk about what you were talking about and I'll just sit quietly..." The girl took a copy of Never Ending Story from Sho's pile.

The Neverending Story, eh? That produced a shiny new smirk on Sho's face; his recommendations never failed. Seated nicely in the armchair, he'd just got around to thinking how much he should be selling that more as a librarian when Carrie brought up her area of study. By that time, he was almost making twitch reactions to sit up and pay attention when someone mentioned medicine or chemistry. For a while, the thought of how he could convince her to stay distracted him from remembering how much he looked like a deer in headlights while he did this. He made an effort to snap out of it and reach for his Digivice, begining to scroll through forms until he got to his D-Terminal and started typing on the holographic screen. "You're leagues far from a chore. If there's anything you have to communicate to keep yourself steady, by all means, say the word." However boyish his voice may be, it still attempted to pass some wisdom along. Without emotion, considering that he felt a certain something coming along in his chest...
You only have one chance. What makes you think you'll run into her again?
That doesn't matter! She's a student with her own life...and if she wants to leave the Digital World out of it, that's her call.
All the more reason to gain a connection between her now. Thread that string of fate wholeheartedly!
If I rush this and screw up, there's no going back...
Then don't.
"I can't imagine having to manage all that, I'm under enough stress already, but college?" Sho shook his head, continuing to type...before he realized he was typing a full transcript of his mental conversation. Muttering a curse under his breath, he shut it off, pocketing the device and switching his attention back to Carrie and Yuko. "Pharmaceutical chemistry, right? And I don't even think I've met you in the human world, Yuko, heh." He had a nervous chuckle about the situation, fixing his posture quite formally.

The other girl insisted that she would rather read something normal than anything Digital World related, and Yuko nodded in understanding at that. “You wanna get away from that stuff, huh? With asshole spirits taking over your body as they please, I can’t really blame you for feeling that way…” The multicolor-haired teenager said, before gritting her teeth in anger and raising the volume of her voice. “Oi, Gotsumon and D’arcmon! If you can hear me, I hope you’re really damn proud of yourselves!”
“It’s not nice to shout inside the library.” Dracmon casually approached the group, hopping unto the sofa and sitting on his Tamer’s lap. “Besides, they’re ancient warriors who died ages ago. Why would they care about hurting a girl’s feelings?” The vampiric Digimon added, throwing an antidepressant pill into his mouth and noisily crunching it down as if it were hard candy.
Yuko’s eyes darted to Sho as he addressed her. “Oh, me? Uuuuh… I’m still in high school. Haven’t made any plans for college yet. I dunno… Guess I’ll figure out what I want when the time comes.” She nervously replied.

"I don't think they can hear you... or even care, they're usually pretty stubborn about themselves. Talking about how so great they are and how wonderful their armies and gods were... I wanted to come here to see what the history books said about them but thinking on it, I doubt the digital world would even have history books..."
"Yeah, Pharmaceutical Chemistry. It's a specialized field where you learn how chemicals and medicines effect the human body. Like pills and IV drip chemicals. For example, if you took any of those spilled pills it would lead to a hallucinogenic feeling; you'd lose track of time, your senses, your friends, enemies, sense of self... Imagine if your senses were all reversed, so you'd smell noises and feel tastes. That's why it was so important to get them up. It's really important we learn all about them and what they can do to people and animals an-" Carrie stopped as Dracmon just swallowed one of her pills like a Tic Tac. "NO!" She immediately leapt to tackle him, holding his head like one would a disobedient dog in completely different actions to what she'd been like before, yet her eyes and voice hadn't changed. "Spit it out! Spit it out now!"

Sho shook his head, making a low sound of disagreement before his face broke into a grin. "Believe me, there are more history books here than you could ever believe existed, though I've yet to use it for any spirit-related research. It's not like I've known they were historical figures for the longest time ever, but even when I was looking before I'd yet to find something specifically about my spirits." He elaborated, motioning one of his arms out to another winding corridor of tomes and books visible through a nook of a single shelf. "But about your studies..." Sho had leaned forward to catch an earful of every word about Carrie's studies, soon to be her work, he hoped. With all that knowledge, all she needed was to gain experience in it and she'd be cruising. And if she'd gotten Digital World experience with that. Sho could...could finally...
Keep going~, she'll slip away!
That voice was becoming more and more indistinguishable from his own, it took him a couple more seconds of blithe listening to figure out if that anxiety was really a part of his thoughts or not. It sure didn't change what he was willing to say to try keeping a hold on her. It wasn't like he could let her go! "You're studying all about those kinds of medicine? I'd love to- Hey!" Sho whisper yelled from his seat. It seemed that in all time he'd never bothered to even look around. Just the thought of that kind of a solution felt like fantasy up until now...and an impish Jokermon was going to jeopardize that!? Not on his watch. He got to his feet, nearly hopping over to the ravenous Digimon just to use whatever twitchy, weakling might his arm had to pick them up by the scruff of their neck. "Are you insane?" He quietly proclaimed, boring into the Digimon with a stern look before a lightbulb went off in his skull. Dracmon just...ingested human medicine. How many times has this happened? What would that due to him? Being held in front of him was one of the few Digimon to come into contact with that kind of medicine, and here he was, telling it off...

Yuko could definitely feel some empathy for Carrie’s plight, especially the part about being stuck with partners who were too busy stroking their own egos. “Yeah, I can feel you there. You might be able to find something about their history, since this library does look pretty massive.” The Tamer glanced at the book the other girl was holding; The Neverending Story. “But, if you want something as far removed from the Digital World as possible, this book looks fine too… This book about a boy in a parallel world… filled with monsters.”
“Spoilers, the boy turns evil and the empress is- HEY!” Dracmon let out a surprised yelp, as he was suddenly manhandled (mon-handled?) by both Carrie and Sho, who chastised him for trying out one of the pills and insisting that he spat it out. The vampiric Digimon looked back at them with his fake eyes and a deadpan expression, before noisily swallowing the pill just to spite them.
“Uuuh… Are we sure these pills are even gonna have an effect on him? Digimon ARE made of data and whatnot.” Yuko pointed out, repositioning herself near Sho, and staring at Dracmon with just as curious a look. “Exactly! And this pill has become data too. There’s nothing chemical about it.” The self-proclaimed Demon King claimed, crossing his tiny arms in front of his chest. “I’m not having any hallucinations. I have no lapdances in my membrane and my mileage is perfectly banana.”

Carrie paused and let go, backing away as the mon shook free. "If these pills became data then so would we when we enter the digital world. Do you feel digital, Yuko? How about you? How about you?" She points to Alan. "The fact we're all digitized holds no bearing on this point, because logically, if they did, I should have become a stuttering, drooling, bug-eyed, angry and paranoid mess who can't do anything but scream at the invisible things coming out of the walls. But since I'm not they are doing something, be it by nature of simulation or actual work. Meaning your digimon is-" She paused and stared at Dracmon as he began devolving into word salads.
"It shouldn't work that fast." She looked at the mon, greatly annoyed. "Even if you are just a bottomless pit. Cough up the pill." She was stern now, the group having hit the key point of taking her from her shell.
Let the guy have some fun. NO! He could get seriously sick and hurt! I'm not going to sit here and let him get like that because I didn't do anything! Carrie you need to calm down, I think you- No! I'm doing the right thing! Carrie thought, picking up Dracmon and shaking him. "Throw up, dammit!"

Sho stood back for a moment, determined to take a second and really look at what was going on here. All of his expressions seemed to mute whenever he was watching something, in fact, his poker face now might be better now than it would've been with anything else. By this time, even his soul knew he had intentions to hide... "Carrie, it'd probably be better just to set him down..." He began, slowly moving about to make sure the Dracmon wasn't in too much trouble. "Scarfing down one of your pills like fresh mochi was just one of his many mistakes today, one we won't let him forget, but I don't think him just throwing it up is a feasible solution." Looking up to the rightfully frustrated girl, he opened up a new file on his D-Terminal, beginning to move about rudimentary images of a human and Digimon on a sort of diagram to illustrate his point. "You're right about the pill affecting him. It's just like how Digimon eat anything from the human world, and Joker even explained it himself. Digimon are made of data, and eating the pill made it into data that probably integrated into him near immediately. That'll suck for him...probably." Sho shook his head, feeling himself begin to spin off into his own thoughts and taking himself back from the brink of rambling. "But, the difference between Digimon and Humans is that Digimon have a lot more resources to repair and remove unwanted data than we do as human beings. Heck, this pill might just be a temporary debuff for even one in rookie form like him. And even if it isn't, we know Digimon produce waste, and that'll probably remove something foreign like that anyway. Now, I'm not saying my opinion overrides the actual doctor we have here that helps out the field club, but it just looked like you were about to send him back to the Village of Beginnings if you catch my drift..." He ended that speech with a chuckle, trying to draw back from the serious tone he'd taken on before. Sho couldn't help but scratch at his neck after that, unable to bear the fact that he literally just had to explain something so abstract for the first time. But...if he could explain this to Carrie, there just had to be a way for her to understand his problem! "And hey...look at you! You're definitely able to assert your will when you need to! More of that and your spirits won't know what hit 'em..." He smirked along with his encouragement, tapping his chest lightly with the side of his fist a couple times. "If you pump out more of that, they'll know who's boss sooner rather than later." Sho wondered if his situation was even comparable...after all, it didn't seem like he had a boss. Well, not one he'd openly admit, but it was just easier to trick himself, wasn't it?

Yuko placed her hand on her chin, pondering Carrie’s lecture, or rather her theorization of how the Digital World affected the human biology. “I dunno… I’ve heard of the whole humans turning to data thing from Jokah before, but I don’t think I feel digital. My body feels the same, more or less. I mean, I still need to eat and sleep. On the other hand, I haven’t needed to use a bathroom at all for the past three weeks, and I’m pretty sure I’ve also missed my pe-”
“Nyaaah! Heeeeelp! Yukooooo!” Dracmon’s cries for help snapped the teenage Tamer out of her delirium. Before she had time to realize how or why, the other girl had grabbed the child-sized vampire, and was violently shaking him in order to throw up the pill. “Hey, let him go!” Yuko grabbed Dracmon’s free arm and tried pulling him to her side, which resulted in the comical sight of the tiny devil being stretched from both sides like a doll with elastic limbs.
Taking advantage of the distraction provided by Sho’s own lecture, the delinquent finally wrenched her vampiric partner out of Carrie’s grasp. Held safely in Yuko’s protective embrace, the Demon King proceeded to vomit a bunch of data out of his big mouth in the form of a flood of zeroes and ones. “BLEGH! I feel humiliated and discomforted…” He wearily said, while leaning on his Tamer.
Yuko for once felt the need to defend her partner’s honor, giving the schizophrenic Spirit User a rather judgemental look. “So, this is how you roll? Just because you can’t deal with your own spirits, you take your anger out on others? Even if Dracmon kinda had it coming, that was still not cool.” She calmly chastised Carrie, while rubbing Dracmon’s head, who in turn let out a tired groan.

"Eh?"
The blonde bespectacled young man and his Veemon partner came strolling back from their previous room, having gotten a mite bored and lonely where they were. They halted in the doorway when they saw something heated going on the lobby. Barging in without knowing a single thing about what had been going on would have been a bad idea. At the same time, perhaps it would be better to try to calm things down while they remained newcomers, uninitiated in whatever drama had swept up the room.
It was too late for that - Alan had already been called upon directly to offer up his opinion on something, a question he could answer without context... so he did.
"W-Well," he stuttered out of the doorway, "Define 'feeling digital,' right? I feel like myself, maybe even better!"
Levi cut in for a hasty response, wanting to help settle things in his own way. "And digital or not, the other guy's right: digimon physiology is all kinds of different from that of humans. They can down cleaning product and not be affected!"
Alan whipped his head towards his partner. "Levi!?"
"That's something I HEARD! Why would I ever try it out? Poison or not, it doesn't seem like it'd taste any good!" The small dragon shuffled uncomfortably and tilted his neck to the others in the room. "Speaking of changing the subject, what's been the deal in here while the library proper's been dead?"
"Of course, if it's too much to explain, I wouldn't ask you to-"
"I would! We've had a few reasons to choke a Dracmon in the past - what led to this one?" Levi made eye contact with everyone in the room, one by one, in no particular order as he asked this.
