Yayogi Library is set outside the massive Yayogi park in Shibuya's precinct of Tokyo. The library itself is a wide, squat structure perched precariously between two major, four-way intersections spanning about a block and half. The outside of the library is a sleek off-white, wood-stone collage that compliments the very earth tones of the grounds around it and the loving shade the nearby trees from the park provide in the afternoon. Inside, the majority of the bookshelves are assembled in winding curves around circular reading/relaxation spots that are decorated with a variety of wood ascetic, curved chairs created with a modern, comfortable design. The lighting is naturalistic, giving the white shelves and wooden, lamented floors a soft glow. It always smells vaguely of pine-oil and lavender and in the summer the cicadas seem to especially enjoy latching to the roof causing the whole building to hum with their song. The stored books are based mostly on donations, as are the 25 computers sparsely laid out around the main floor. There is an assortment of vending machines just inside the door to the left, mostly filled with resealable bottles and split evenly between hot and cold selections. There is a basement, mostly filled with a sorting room, a repair room and a translation room; there is however, in the basement, a series of tightly packed, seperatible shelves that hold a catalog of news papers and articles from before the library was established. Besides the news storage, the basement also holds the non-translated books of non-japanese language.
Presently, Yayogi Library's main floor is monitored by a cheery foreigner named Katherine King, wearing a knee-length black skirt and brilliant orange blouse with a spider-themed half-jacket over it. She has long, black hair and ocean blue eyes hidden behind thick framed glasses.
(Context: This thread will be reoccuring and open to those that wish to visit the library for any informational needs or to possibly hide out from the real world - especially for solo digimon. It'll close after a maximum of 3 people join for "the day" and re-open when asked for or when the story is complete. If you wish to visit the library another day, please DM me. If you'd like to use to setting do so as well.)

A library was usually a rather reliable spot to go hide away at when one wanted to do their schoolwork while being left alone, at least it seemed to be in Hisato's experience. Yayogi in particular was something he considered a place to duck away in that also seemed the slightest bit stylish.
It's also a great place to get your thoughts together, especially when they regarded what happened some weeks ago. There seemed to be nothing about Golden Week on the news or anything, so being an eyewitness to things just...didn't seem to pan out all too well when the only word about what happened was through the literal word of mouth.
Yet nobody spoke of it, still. At present, Hisato was moving to return a number of books to where he had found them among the shelves. He was, at present, alone in terms of company, but that could reasonably change as time went on.

Ah, the Yoyogi Library. Adam took a deep breath as he walked in, enjoying the smell of books and knowledge. So maybe knowledge didn't smell like anything, but the scent of old books was something he found always calmed him down. He found the most interesting answers to things in the older books, like Chinese medical blends, or the way to properly forge a katana. But he wasn't here for the books today. No, today he was here to study the art of trap making. He'd seen a wire trap in an anime and now he simply had to know how he could do it. He gives a brief nod to the woman behind the desk, paying her little attention and flashing his library card as he makes a beeline to the vending machines. He swipes his card into the receiver, and punches the code in for a melon cola, then head towards the computers.
Once at the computer, he logs in and begins his search, starting with a few detailed searches on knot tying. He'll be at this for a while, but probably won't look up unless there's a large fuss, or he's addressed directly.

Katherine was walking through the shelves, doing a quick check for any teens "enjoying their summer vacation" in not explicitly illegal fashion. She smirked, shaking her head as she passed row upon row, peaking down them at the patrons there in the lazy summer day. She stopped short upon seeing a young man put away another book - hadn't she just seen him come in with some books.
"Ah, excuse me, sir: I need to scan those back in and check them for damage. If they aren't ours we'll get them to the right place, but you can't be putting them back." She said softly in a formal diction, just in case she was misunderstanding the situation, as she approached the younger man.
On the other side of the main floor of the library, another young man was sitting at a computer when a burst of sharp static electricity came from the tower of the computer hidden under the desk. The burst of static would repeat as underneath the clawed form of Algernon latched onto the - normally abandoned - desktop's ethernet port.

Adam clicks a few times, growing a bit annoyed. If he wanted terrible internet, he'd have stayed at home. He came to the library to do his research and get fast, uninterrupted internet. He sighed, jotting down the links he'd been looking at in their entirety in one of his notebooks before moving to logging off. He stands, stretching and taking a sip of his cola before moving to another computer and logging on. He began his research again, noting down some of the better knot designs, as well as how to camoflauge a knot in the wild. This would all come in handy. Maybe. Probably. He didn't know, but his mind did not allow him to care. Once it got stuck on something, it got stuck hard. He'd need to see about buying some rope later or thread to try out some of these knots he was learning.
The Digivice in his pocket let out a weak sound, then immediately powered back off. It wasn't time. Not yet.

Hisato took a quick pause the literal moment that he heard someone coming by saying that he couldn't just put the books back. Uh...huh. He admittedly didn't know -that- much about library etiquette but wasn't it okay to just put things back where you found them? "Oh. If that's the case, then...Uh. Here."
This was more than a little awkward. Like being caught in headlights or something, but nonetheless Hisato offered the books back. Thankfully he had only put the one book in the shelf, which meant that this process was relatively painless. "Sorry, thought I was just supposed to put them back where I found them. Wasn't aware of anything like having to scan them for damages." He was trying his best not to sound irritated or anything, just...it was a point of honest confusion.

Algernon hiccuped as he finished the snack from the oddly warm internet, clicking his tiny talons together before skittering past a human's leg - Adam's - giving the impression of a massive tarantula passing by. The tiny digimon paused, sensing the weak signal of another digivice with it's antenna. His antenna twitched and stood up as he analysed the data...something about a insect form digimon, before the small in-training partner climed through a hole made for wires and fled around the floorboard.
Katherine smiled softly at the young man retrieved the book he had put away, taking them to the nearby cart. She returned with one of the books - chosen at random - and opened the inside cover to show the lamented inner cover with a small bar-code. "We use these to check them in and out, also if there's evidence of damage we can repair most books. However, if a particularly old edition is damaged we may charge a small fee for the person's actions. But thank you very much for trying to save me work. My name is Mrs. King, I'm the new assistant librarian here."

A young man is on a computer, around 17 years old, he's looking at some recent news articles that have been posted over the past few days. He's not really looking for anything in particular, but he is wondering if he can see anything out of place. In-between articles, he grabs into his backpack and takes out half a sandwich, has a couple bites, puts it back and continues to look.
Unknown to others in his backpack is a small 4 legged, fox like creature, his partner Viximon. She was busy enjoying the other half of the sandwich, she was taking a break after trying to solve a Rubik's Cube, she's gotten 2 sides filled up, but she hasn't figured out the solution. "How many articles have you gone through?" She whispered to him in between bites. "About 4, this counts as 5 I think. I'm sure I can find something we can check out, Runa." He whispers back.
Runa rolled her eyes at this. "Really doubt you'll find something about a digimon like this, it'd be like finding a human in the digital world." She said, getting a slight smirk from John. "Yeah those are real hard to come by right? Tell me, how many tamers have we met?" John quipped as he took out his sandwich half, to which Runa swatted with her tail slightly, making John chuckle a bit as he moved on to another article.

Adam nearly leapt when Algernon brushes past him. Without getting a good look, he swears it's a massive spider, watching it scuttle away and relocating to a few computers over. He shudders a bit. He's fine with insects and arachnids, but that thing was the size of his HEAD. Well... Maybe it's a friendly one. Hunts mice and such instead of a cat. Good for the library and all that. With that though, he takes a seat across from the younger man, John. He gives a brief nod. "Afternoon. Did you see that spider?" It's an idle conversation, one of politeness, as he begins to study once more. This was not boding well for his college entrance exam tomorrow. He continued to study traps, jotting down some knots to practice and moving on to pitfalls.
His Digivice beeped weakly again, too softly for him to hear. It was picking up signals, and had inadvertently given some data out. It would likely be fine, but without his Partner it wouldn't function properly for some time. It should be fine. It will be fine.

Oh, this lady's the new assistant librarian. That...made this a little less awkward. Admittedly, he kind of already knew what the barcode stuff was, but the lady seemed to be alright with pointing out what the nuances of the library's method of processing books taken from the shelves were.
...Okay, yeah, Hisato didn't know about the latter half of that statement. No argument there. Though, Mrs. King didn't seem like she was from around here, did she? With a nod, the young man finally introduced himself. "Hisato Aizawa, Iiiii...Don't work here, I just come by here a bunch after school without anything else to do. Nice to meet you, however." Did Sato actually introduce himself correctly? That was something he was admittedly uncertain about.

Katherine smiled and bowed back, her movements a bit stiff and the crossing of her arm over her mid-section more akin to the English butler's way of bowing than a Japanese bow. She chucked as she stood up. "I understand that you don't work here, but it was kind of you either way. I cannot say for sure that I have every regular's name down. Was there any sections or selections your prefer or were keeping an eye out for? I'd be happy to reserve some things." As she talked, Katherine moved past the young Hisato and there was a sudden lurch in the cart of books she was moving towards, nearly causing it to topple. She winched, knowing that was probably her new-found partner launching into a hiding hole. She had been trying show him how to be stealthy but it was a hit and miss thing.
Inside the cart's lower half, Algernon let out a delighted static burst as he reflected on his successful stealth! Kathy probably didn't even see him, so he'd be able to scare her later. He scuttled about, inspecting the various books under the cart, tossing aside one's that sounded boring like "Al ger's bra" and "Quan Tom's Physics". The claw-like digimon settled on the third volume describing the adventures of Lupin the Third.

John is a laser focus kind of guy when it comes to reading, if he's in the middle of reading something, he sees nothing but the words, unless something gets in the way of the words. His hearing on the other hand, that's normal, so he turned to the guy who spoke to him. "Oh, uh no, sorry I was in the middle of reading something, was it a big spider?" John asked, feeling a bit nervous.
Runa had overheard talk of a spider, and decided to check out the outside to see if she could find it. slowly zipping the backpack open, she peaked out of the backpack to look around. Things seem normal, until she notices some kind of electric charge come from the cart, curious she writes a note to leave in the backpack. "Hey John, went to investigate something in the library. - R"
She then places it on his sandwich half, and begins to wait for an opening. When she found a bookshelf that she could hide in, and no one was looking her way, she made a dash to it, hiding behind some books on a bottom shelf near the cart. Making sure to keep her eye's peeled for oncoming people, and listened for footsteps coming her way, she waited for the kart to move.

Adam chuckled, nodding. He understood the kind of focus that ignored his surroundings. Here he was studying knots and tiger pits before a very important exam, so he had no room to judge. He nods again, resuming the conversation. "I THINK it was a spider, anyway. It was quite large and it scurried away before I could get a good look at it." He shrugs, extending his hand. "Sorry to pester you. Name's Adam. Might I ask yours?" A name that would likely be forgotten, due to how Adam's brain worked. It really only had a vision for these traps and study at the moment, but it certainly wouldn't stop him from being polite.
An email reminder dinged loudly on his phone, the words "STUDY FOR EXAM" clear on the front. Unfortunately, he also got a spam email about the same time, so the reminder wouldn't be the first thing he saw. Hopefully that wouldn't cause problems.

Somehow, someway, this didn't get anymore awkward than it already sort of was. Hisato did make sure to bow in courtesy, though he was fairly certain that whatever the librarian just did was her own manner of bowing in courtesy. "No, not really. I mostly just look through the fiction sectio-..." He was about to go on a bit more when he noticed that lurch in the cart.
...
That was more than a little odd. "...What was that all about?" Hisato inquired, pointing towards the formerly lurching cart. There were a number of reasons as to why a cart would lurch like that but a lot of them required someone to be behind it, you know? So...What gave?

Katherine felt a chill go down her spine as she glanced at the cart. She tried for think of a quick deception before putting on a forced, awkward smile. "It's..ah...I hope you won't say anything, since you caught me. I've been feeding some of the local cats around here under the carts...they...umm keep away mice and the likes. I haven't been able to deal with the local mice since moving - or the cockroaches."
Katherine moved to push the cart forward, gently steadying it and ensuring it wouldn't lurch from any more motions from Algernon. She smiled towards Hisato softly and breathed deeply. "Ah, apologies the prospect of a mouse just...sends my anxiety on alert. You said you were looking for the fiction section? We have it divided by sub-section. Did you know what type of fiction?"
Meanwhile in the cart's covered section, Algernon was eagerly scanning/reading the story of the gentleman thief, flipping through the cartoon images with his small claws, his antenna twitching happily.
