”I’m merely teasing my Lily. But yes, I do plan on getting to know you as well as you’ll allow.”
Skald chuckled lightly and gingerly rubbed at the top of the floramon’s head. He didn’t mind the flirting, before herald had done quite a bit of it with him but… Now that they were basically brother and sister she had stopped completely. There was a pause and he’d shake his head slowly at the idea that he needed a deal to keep this customer.
”Really it was just explaining the faulty lining of the cask. Providing the evidence to them and then promising them something next week. I decided to do the brewing myself in my own home that way that there won’t be any issues.”
The renamon paused again however when she seemed surprised about the whole installation business. He’d raise a small brow and waggle a finger at her; he wasn’t being needlessly fast. The basics were needed here and that was the reason they had moved so quickly! He’d of course explain this as well as he could.
”Well I had to make sure that you had the basics; we already had the wiring for a lot of the lights and the prior generator was just needing to be replaced. Really the thing that took the longest was the security cameras. With someone that will actually be working there we figured it would be better to get them set up faster than not. Can’t have my lily work in the dark now can I?
The renamon looked over the list, his eyes shifting line to line; taking in the information and tucking it away in those cold eyes. He was in ‘business’ mode for a few moments and he’d fold the list before tucking it away in his chest fur. He’d raise his eyebrows and then let out a small chuckle.
”Well it’s not like all of the warehouse will be for my uses now will it? There would need to be some larger stuff there for you no? I can’t just knock down walls to give you more space. But if you really want to keep it to around here I could see about roof access for you.”
He seemed far more amused than anything and with a small shrug the renamon sank into the couch a bit. Like her he had been doing work almost nonstop over the night. So unlike her; he didn’t even have a breath of sleep. Though he just seemed content to watch her sift through the seeds.

The cask was faulty?
I figured it was the brute dropping it... or maybe Skald is too kind for his own good?
Eh, it didn't matter to the Floramon either way. And now the Renamon was saying that he was going at just the right pace - that the wiring and electrical had already been done, so most of the work was just routing the installation of the new cameras. "Hm... I'll take your word for it. Appreciated, of course."
As for that bit about the watermelons? Honestly, the Floramon couldn't help but give a bit of a laugh! "Hey, all I was saying was that its a bit weird to give me watermelon seeds for a home planter, Skald. But I might be able to get more use out of these than you'd think... and I wouldn't even have to leave this apartment to do it." She turned that bag of seeds once or twice over in her hand, before plucking one up, letting it slip inside one of her arms.
"Its just a matter of 'talking to it'... letting the seed know what you want out of it. A little adjustment..."
The plant flipped her arm down, showing what was once a seed. It now looked like the cutting of a watermelon vine - a single, small, ripe watermelon sprouting from an edge, the size of which would fit easily in the Renamon's palm.
"I'll get more than one per seed once I'm properly growing them, but you get the point, foxy-boy."

With the matter of the cask being dropped for the moment, the renamon leaned back on the couch. Sinking into the nice fabric and the deep cushions. He was pretty damn tired so while he was talking with his new hire he figured he could at least relax just a little bit. He’d give a nod at the thanks, giving her a small thumbs up [or whatever you could call it with three fingers].
”Better that it is taken care of early than not at all...”
He’d tilt his head as she laughed, blinking as he was pretty sure nothing he had said was funny. He’d lean forward ever so slightly and watch her. Talking to a seed? That she wouldn’t even need to leave the apartment for this? His curiosity was playing right into her hands and then there it was. A small cutting of a watermelon vine… and a small ripe watermelon from the edge. His brows were raised and he couldn’t help but chuckle.
”That sounds wonderful, having you aboard we’ll be able to make a killing in the fruit market. Of course if that was our only focus I doubt you’d come on so readily.”
The renamon snickered a bit and considered for a moment how long it would likely take to get all the equipment. A week did sound a lot more reasonable and the renamon slowly stood up, groaning as he really didn’t want to move all too much. He felt like today was definitely one of those days where he could just lay down and sleep.
”I’ll make sure herald gets this list by the end of the day… She’ll be able to get a good portion of easily; some of the places that sell some she isn’t allowed into. Nothing notorious mind you just… mistrust about magic users.”
He’d sigh a bit and shake his head, it wasn’t anything complicated. They didn’t want a magick user mucking up their crops by accident; it was frustrating since he was one too and they let him in… Then again his stuff was more with paper than anything that could affect plant life. Though if they saw bell well… they might go head over heels! But he decided it would be best if he kept her to himself in this regard.
”Well I should go get some rest. I doubt you would want me crashing on your bed.”
The renamon chuckled and padded towards the door, he’d pause at the handle and turn his head to look at bell. His eyes were in that ‘business’ mode but they had that semblance of warmth that was around the plant for whatever reason.
”I’ll let you know by friday where we stand on the equipment and supplies. For now just get back into the groove and if you need anything you know where to find me. I’ll have herald stop by later to drop off your ID papers. I would of myself but she was grumpy I hired you without consulting her first so she wants to meet you.”

"Well, I wouldn't want to be drawing that kind of attention to myself. There's not a lot of Floramon who can so easily splice into seeds."
Bell gave a chuckle, and would let Skald hold onto that little fruit if he wanted to. Otherwise, she found herself stretching out her back, nodding to her new boss. "I'll be around here - that is, I still want to catch up on a little bit of sleep... and, well, not too much of my list is magical in origin, but let me know if something does come up that's problematic."
Other than that? She'd return a small tease ("Yeah, its a bit early to talk about sharing a bed with me, hun,") but other than that it seemed like she had her week settled in front of her.
She'd meet this 'Herald', her other boss, and be integrated into this system... though, it was definitely hard to tell what her exact role here was.
What, exactly, Skald intended to do, both with her work and in general.
"You know where to find me if you need me. And don't worry, I'll try not to give your sister too much of a hard time."

”Hmm. Duly noted. I’ll keep that sort of thing to myself then.”
With that being the case and bell seemingly being on the run from something well… He didn’t want to attract more attention to her than her own ventures. With her wanting to catch up on sleep and the fox wanting to do the same there wasn’t much for him to say was there? He’d blink at the mention of magical origin stuff in her list and then chuckle.
”Well if it was I don’t think we’d have too much of an issue getting it. It’s not like either one of me or my sister are banned from places like that.”
The renamon gave a small grin and stuck out his tongue at the returned tease; he had meant no ill of it more making a joke about the entire situation in itself. He wasn’t sure what role to really put her in right now, past being a gardener, researcher and scientist of sorts. He’d give her a small wave and then pull open the door.
”I think the two of you will get along just fine. I’ll check in from time to time, probably around the same time in the mornings if I worked the night prior. Rest well My lily.”
Giving a small schedule for that sort of stuff was probably not too much of a bad idea. For now? He’d leave her to it, closing the door behind him and the sound of him locking it on his own was heard again before his footsteps faded into the silence that came with this place
Not but three hours later there was a sequence of knocks on the door; they seemed almost musical in the way that they were presented. An old sing songy rhyme perhaps? It almost seemed as though whoever was on the other side of the door was… well being playful!
If Bell was there and decided to check the peephole she’d be greeted with a similar sight from the photo that Skald showed her. But slightly taller, more pronounced horns. Slightly beefier than whatever form she had been keeping. If not a good deal taller too. In many depictions she might of even matched up with the devil proper if it wasn’t for the way she simply seemed to wait standing about.
Her brother was a patient sort, even if he was fast acting. Herald was very much so impatient but knew that this sort of thing wasn’t to be forced. She’d grit her teeth, that ever present smile on her face and if the floramon knew what the human world smelled like well… That was something that the goat reeked of at the moment.
”I’m gone for one bloody day and he hires someone without checking with me… And gives them a pad. And gives them a key. And gives them all these other things. Tch. Being careful my ass…”
The goat was mumbling to herself and shaking her head at this point, though she seemed to be fiddling with something in her hand. Unlike skald she was brazenly displaying the fact she had a key to the place. In fact that likely begged the question… where did skald even keep all the things he had?

Bell didn't just sleep the entire time - a couple of hours later, the Floramon found herself going through what Skald had brought in, and had even taken the time to start on a few of her new planters. This meant that, when the door knocked again, the Floramon was already alert - and a quick look through the peep-hole showed someone similar to the Mephistomon that Skald showed her earlier.
An evolved form? She seemed somehow more 'uptight' than the Renamon, and with a roll of her shoulders, she'd click the door open and invite Herald inside.
"Hello, hello! I take it you're going to be my other boss in all of this?"
Bell kept herself positive, stepping back into the apartment, finishing up the current planter she was working on. "Honestly, I'm surprised it evolved into all of this. Yesterday I was just looking for a position as a waitress to help make ends meet, but I'm not going to complain about the result here... he mentioned a lot about you as well, though I'm still lacking the specifics?"

Herald knew that skald needed to rest, which is why she decided to come here on her own rather than drag the knucklehead along with her. She loved that fox to death and back but honestly sometimes his choices baffled her. She’d fold her arms as she waited for the door to eventually open, her tail swishing behind her and her ‘eyes’ slid down the door frame as it opened in front of her. Honestly what she was expecting was not what she got.
Not at all.
It wasn’t some tree thing, it wasn’t a pumpkin type digi or those annoying fly trap esq ones. No, it was something that she hadn’t seen before; when Skald had told her that it was a floramon well.. What she imagined was some hulking mess of vines and limbs not this cute little thing in front of her. Which had the blood goat on guard now as the cutest things often were the most deadly if monty python was anything to go by.
”Yup that’s me. Herald’s the name and you must be ‘Lily’.”
The strange mix of mephistomons offered a hand for a quick shake before stepping in to follow the floramon. She’d look around and give an approving nod. She’d quickly shut the door behind her and blink as the other spoke to her. How she was surprised that it evolved into all of this, how she was just looking to be a waitress before. But then skald must of picked up on something, noticed something. He was never this quick to act unless he did.
The question is what did her dear brother see in this shortstack?
The blood goat shifted and stared at the floramon as she continued to speak. How she wanted to make ends meet, how she wasn’t going to complain about the results but… She didn’t have specifics. The Heramon took a seat on her own tail of all things as it coiled under her, she looked a bit bored actually…
”Specifics? All right. So you know how the top section of the warehouse is for crops and stuff? The underground segment that we have, that was there before we even purchased the place is the part where the real money comes in. Basically you’ll be growing medicinal herbs, rare and illegal ones that I’ll be enhancing further with my varied magicks. We don’t sell in bulk, only small amounts and only to very specific buyers that expressed interest to us for that exact reason. Our previous agricultural expert was a dumbass robot that hated magic and when he left the dumbass ended up getting himself killed by trying to go to another group.”
The heramon snorted a bit and shook her head, leaning back and drawing out a thermos; whatever was in it smelled very strongly of alcohol, cinnamon and something else. Probably some form of blood if one had to think hard about it. She’d take a drink and then snort again.
”And I’m supposed to be happy that he found one on such short notice ‘lily’ but I’m not. I don’t trust you. I won’t trust you. You’re a sweet looking thing but that makes me want to punch your little face in until it stops being funny. Something about you pisses me off and I don’t know what it is. He’s my brother and I’ll be damned if I let him get hurt again so let me make one thing clear here.”
There was blood in her voice, anger edging into it somewhere. She’d stand up and stow her thermos away, stepping lightly to stare down at the Floramon. Her coldness wasn’t anything like skald’s; his was refined, thoughtful. Hers was something you’d expect to hear from a killer.
”If you hurt my brother I will kill you, kill every iteration of you and make sure that you suffer in an endless cycle of death that you can’t escape from because it’ll be all you know. Are we clear?”
There was absolute venom in her voice; the blood goat wasn’t taking chances. She wasn’t expecting bell to just buckle and take this either. She was expecting something back from all of this talk and depending on what she got well…
Lets see this Bell bare her teeth

A quick handshake, and Herald let herself inside. Bell didn't mind, but she could already 'smell' that Herald was quite a bit different from Skald. More direct, more 'strict', more exacting - Bell was able to gather this much just from her initial tone and poise.
As such, Bell listened intently to the specifics... and blinked a bit at the problem with the previous guy. "Really? He had trouble using magic to fill in specific orders like that?" The Floramon rolled her eyes. "No wonder he had trouble. To do that with any sort of efficiency, you'd need a greenhouse near the size of Terminus' market district to do that efficiently. Mm, I wonder how much he tried to shortcut the process..."
Ah, but then the comment turned on her. The Heramon didn't trust her. Herald wanted to throttle her right then and there. The goat claimed that she would kill her if she did as much as hurt a single hair on his back... and to that, the Floramon gave a sigh. The smile left her expression, but if Herald was expecting Bell to be afraid? She'd find herself either disappointed or surprised.
"I see. You're the actual backbone behind this, aren't you?" Bell's reply was cold as ice. "Some sweet little Floramon manages to get employed in one day, mostly based on her word alone? I'd be suspicious, too."
To that, she managed a small grin, crossing her arms. "But I think you should know I'm worth my salt, right? The order list I gave you was all my work."

The reason for her attitude was mostly because of the dark area, it had kept her and her family alive until the D-reaper attacked. It had kept them from under the guillotine so to speak; she had a mean outer shell and it was difficult to get past that unless she let you. She looked somewhat bored as bell commented on the information that Herald gave her.
”He believed in an absolute standard approach to everything, that he could synthesize what I wanted with science not realizing that to do so would make the herbs unusable for anything else. Yes, we only had something maybe about half the size of what you’re going to be working with as before we were basically operating out of an abandoned building. Only reason we had to stop was because it was slated to be demolished. As for how much he tried to shortcut? Well enough to where skald was mad with him and boy does my brother have the temperament of a saint.”
The heramon rolled her eyes a little bit and noted the reaction that the floramon gave to her; there was no fear. Just a resigned sigh; then came the question which prompted the heramon to laugh lightly. The backbone of this? Oh that was something funny…
”I suppose in the physical sense of things yes, but skald is the one that plans everything out. He has a design in his mind that has been working out for us so far, his luck, his silver tongue, I might be a manipulative bitch but I pale in comparison to his smarts.”
The tone is what she was looking for, the reaction was that what she was looking for too. She knew why she wasn’t trusted and that made the heramon chuckle lightly. The order list that was given to her wasn’t her brother’s writing so she knew that it had to be the floramon. She waved her hand dismissively.
”The order list itself was simple enough, do you really think that just knowing what you might need proves you know what you’re doing? Any idiot can memorize a list of things that looks smart. Say. Once we have the first batch fully underway and money in my pocket from our first customer I’ll take back my doubts of you. It’s nothing personal Darling but I prefer action over words. I have to deal with enough politicians that have no spine, I don’t need a worker that doesn’t have one.”
Herald sighed and shook her head, shifting to offer the Floramon a small bottle; it was about the size of one of the heramon’s fingers. If opened the smell of the liqour would waft out, it was a mix of scents one of the most prominent being that of a type of poison that in small doses was something that would relax muscles rather than outright paralyzing them. It wouldn’t be hard to tell that there wasn’t much in this bottle, maybe about 1/8th of what you’d need for it to actually be deadly.
”But dear brother did say that you had trouble sleeping by what he could see so I made this little cocktail for you. Since you’re a plant I don’t really know how your body works but I’m pretty sure the spices, poison and liquor mix should help you relax enough to sleep. Only drink a teaspoon though. Too much and it’ll be hard to move when you wake up… and too little? Well it won’t do much other than give you a little bit of a headache.”

"You can be as smart as you want, but sometimes the wheels won't turn without some elbow grease..."
The Floramon wasn't scared of the Heramon, not at all. Heck, as the goat started to chide her, say that she wouldn't 'trust' her until she saw the results of her work, Bell returned her own dismissive wave to the Heramon's. "Really, 'darling', didn't Skald say anything about who I was? I'm Bell, the botanist who managed to get into a lot of trouble because I'm really, really good at what I do. Don't be so quick to underestimate me, 'boss'."
Bell blinked, though, as a bottle was handed off to her. Some kind of liquor? The Floramon uncapped it, taking a long waft with a wave of a hand, before letting that cork slip right back in. The plant could already tell there was something off about it - and heck, the Heramon already admitted it was poison.
"So is the test to see if I'm daft enough to openly drink something like this offered to me?" Bell tilted her head, setting the bottle right on the windowsill. "The alcohol and sugar will do well in setting up my next planter, so I'll thank you for that much - but this is looking to be a very rocky start, hun."
Sheesh... did I flirt too much?

”It’s why we make such a good team. Though he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty if need be. If he was well.. We wouldn’t be standing here talking about this.”
The heramon sighed softly and shook her head; sure she chided the floramon. Telling her about trust and all that but the only people she really trusted were her seconds and skald! The heramon had to be worked with long enough to where this barrier eased down. Then of course the floramon quoted her name; yes skald did tell her who this was and the heramon was surprised. But the heramon raised a single finger, then two, then three. As though she was counting reasons here...
”First. Yes he did say who you were. Second, anyone can claim to be anyone darling. Especially if you’re the same species. Third. I’m not underestimating you, I never said that. I said I don’t trust you. There’s a difference. If I did underestimate you do you think I’d be so charming? No need to call me boss either. Herald will do just fine.”
The heramon leaned back and raised a brow before shaking her head at the guess that it was for her to be tested. No it was legitimately there for the Floramon to help get sleep. The heramon used a similar cocktail to knock out people that were in a lot of pain.
”Oh nono, it’s legitimately for the purpose of helping you sleep. And of course it’s going to be a rocky start; every job you have should start rocky until you know who you’re working with or dealing with.”
The heramon shifted again, pulling out that thermos from earlier, popping it open and taking a long swig from it before letting out a soft breath of air. She certainly seemed to relax a little bit more, she’d point at the floramon and grin.
”So skald told me about that lil trick with the watermelon seed. Can I see the plant? I wanna see what sort of stuff you do so I can figure out how to best work with it magically. See where your stuff stops and where my magic can start is gonna be fun.”
Rocky start or not, herald still had work to do. A person to test in variations and well… If the floramon wanted to there was another cup in place for her. The liquor being poured into it. The heramon didn’t know if the floramon drank but she didn’t much care, if they didn’t well... They could just hand back the cup that was pushed towards them!
”Long term wise I won’t do any real planning with you, but short term at the very least you can get us set up with what we need if you’re really who you say you are and can do what you said you can do. As I said before, once I have results I’ll be more inclined to trust yah. I don’t want to have someone lose an arm or something again just cause you’re a plant or somefin... pardon the phrasing eheheh...”

"Not trusting me, I can understand." Bell returned a half-shrug at that remark. "But if I was pretending to be someone, I could certainly pick someone more... 'convenient' than this. Anyway, its not here nor there, because you're not going to have to worry about my performance for much longer."
The plant gave a wink at that - and a full shrug at the 'poisoned medicine'. It was clear that Bell wasn't going to bother with it, and there wasn't much value in pushing the issue either way. No, more interesting was the mini-watermelon plant that Bell had cooked up on a whim! "Mm, sure. Second planter on the left." She tilted her head in that direction, and if Herald cared to look, she'd see vines strewn through the soil, the plant already budding despite being mere seed only about an hour earlier. It was definitely slower than Bell putting 'all she had' into it, but it was still an impressive amount of progress!
"As it is, it should produce about three or four of those suckers a day so long as I keep it tended... and, well, I guess we'll have to see where I end up when you can see what I can do, Herald." To that, Bell gave a smirk: "Oh, but the plans you could have. Medicines, poisons, mind-altering drugs... meld it right and someone else's world becomes whatever you want them to think it is."

”Yeah yeah. I know. But still I have to take… precautions. But if that’s truly the case, yes. I’ll be quite a pleased mon if you’re able to perform as well as you said.”
Herald wouldn’t push the medicine all too much, it really was for her and if she didn’t want to use it well.. She didn’t need to. The heramon would step over to the planter, leaning down to inspect the plant, she’d wave a hand over it and mumble to herself softly. A few glowing lights and she’d snort gently.
”Yeah we’re compatible if this was your doing. We’ll see what your fully grown plants can handle later.”
The goat turned her head as the other spoke. Three or four of these a day? Would that count for the other things, she got a curious look on her face and she’d flick her ears. The plans she did have for someone that was able to manipulate plants like this!
”Yeah something like that. Mostly everything you’re thinking and more. Honestly it would heavily depend on the sort of customers we get but for now… It’s mostly high grade medicinal herbs and what not; at least to start.”
The heramon grinned a bit and turned her head, taking a swig from her thermos before stashing it a final time. She’d step up to the plant, offering a hand for a shake. She didn’t seem to intend any harm on the plant.
”Don’t do me wrong ‘Lily’.”
The unsaid part of that was definitely a threat; but the goat felt like she didn’t need to iterate that for the plant to get it. The goat would head to the door whether or not the plant accepted her hand shake.
”I’ll be back when we have everything so you can get started. Skald will probably be around tomorrow at ‘work’ if you need to talk to him. Or catch him after.”
With that the goat would step out of the door and close it behind her. She was a lot different than her brother, but unlike her brother she didn’t seem to have a key for the place… or if she did she didn’t bother using it.

"Mm... I wonder if its going to be my plants handling you, or you handling what my plants can do."
Floramon gave a slight chuckle at that, sneaking in a small tease at Herald's expense. She was already starting to like this new arrangement. Bell openly spoke about what illegal things she could pull off, and the demon just took it in stride. So long as the Floramon kept her things in line, it seemed that she'd be able to thrive in this setting.
So at that handshake, she took Herald's hand in her own, and returned a wink to the Heramon.
"Right back at ya, boss."
It seemed that the visit would be done with that! The Floramon stretched out her arms, giving a nod to her new cohort. "Well, I'll either be here or 'bothering' your brother. Hopefully I can dispel those doubts you have about me soon enough. Heh... glad someone here's willing to keep me in check..."

”We’ll see, I’m pretty good with plants.”
The Heramon chuckled a little bit and shook her head; she was used to strange things so some plants trying to ‘handle’ her wasn’t exactly too unsurprising. With that joke about illegal things passing over her shoulder the goat managed a small smile and further still? Bell actually shook her head; prompting that smile to grow a little bit. Not to mention a wink? Oh. She could see why skald was probably smitten with this bloody plant.
”Well if you need anything from me it ain’t too hard to find me. I kind of stick out in a crowd.”
The goat demon flicked her ears and managed another chuckle; giving a small wave to the Floramon. This would likely be the last that they would see each other for the next week or so. Herald didn’t have much of a reason to stop by past making sure that Barbus found his way home… then again wasn’t that what gertrude was for?
”Only time will tell ‘lily’. Only time will tell.”
And those weeks passed without much event; sure there were terminus patrols through the area but they were so far and few inbetween that they might as well not happen at all. Sometimes they were called to handle some drunkards that didn’t want to leave the bar when it was closing time or… well some gang violence that got a bit too out of hand.
Suffice to say Skald and herald both kept their heads down when they cropped up; they might have a little leeway with some people but the law enforcement was a whole nother beast.
Skald himself would only visit bell once during that period, a different arrangement of fruits and seeds for the Floramon. Mostly things she could be expecting to work with. The various things she requested and even samples of the dirt that they procured for her. It was surprisingly nutritious stuff…
And like that it would be the second week, the start of it at least. Right around dawn there would be a firm knocking on the door; though the knock was unlike anything that the other two. If the floramon looked through her peephole she’d see the one armed veemon standing there; she seemed to be pretty even. Her expression didn’t give anything away and it didn’t seem like she was going anywhere up until bell would open the door… Well the veemon sounded like an older female; though not quite ‘elderly’. Her eyes were a surprising hollow looking black; like someone had snuffed out the light a long time ago...
”Boss told me to show you where the warehouse is. He’s making sure everything’s good to go shipment wise. He shouldn’t be too far behind us. I’ll be helping you get shit set up today since barbus threw out his back yesterday.”
