Beyond crossing her arms in front of her to brace herself, Arlecchimon made no move to dodge the Ending Snipe. The blast would impact against her forearms; making her flight briefly waver, as though she were about to fall, as if she were about to go down... ... Yet, perhaps thru her own will, or by some stroke of luck... She was still standing - or, perhaps more appropriately, still floating - as she rose up into the sky. The crack traveling across her mask would only grow in length, and it seemed as though it would nearly break in two; but she'd put a hand over it to hold it in place, to keep it from breaking just yet. It was only when she'd be high above Joker, when she'd stop moving upwards; and for a few tense moments, there would only be silence. Only the howling winds of the ridges, only the distant sound of the Sea of Blood's crashing waves down below... ... But, after those moments passed... Arlecchimon, once more, would begin to speak. "... Why?" She'd question; and Joker might need to strain his ears to hear her, at first, between their distance from each other and her soft tone. "Why do you keep fighting to continue on; despite my warnings? Despite me trying to stop you here, for your sake..?"Slowly, carefully, she'd lower the hand from her mask; and it would, thankfully, keep itself together for the time being. "One would think that... That the two of us, meeting again after so long, would become something happy - something to remember - and yet..." She'd peer down to Joker, as she briefly trailed off. A moment of quiet would pass, as though she were considering her words, before she'd continue "... And yet, here we are, fighting.""I'd rather we not fight, if it was possible, and yet..." Her voice was becoming somewhat choked up, as she continued to speak. "I can't let you pass by me, in good conscience, either. I don't want to lose you again. To find laughter in gods and lords even at our own risk, is so much different of a loss from that of true conflict; it is so much different from having to fight until my Digicore was about to burst, just to make sure you came back yourself. To make sure that none would desecrate you as you passed on." What stories, might she had been able to tell, while they weren't locked in combat? "..." Once more, Arlecchimon would fall quiet, for a brief moment; but she would not be idle, either. Clapping her hands together, Arlecchimon would begin to produce cards once more - like that of her Dealer move. Yet; these cards were different, it seemed. More numerous than the typical playing cards that she used for that attack, and different in appearance as well; numbering 78 to a usual playing deck's 52. She did not fire them off immediately, either; instead sorting them into five different sets, which would arrange themselves around her. It was likely that Joker would recognize what she was up to... ... And recognize that the attack that was coming, was big. "I love you, Joker." She'd finally speak; four simple, yet meaningful, words. "I've always have, and perhaps... Perhaps, this stubbornness of yours is but another reason why. And yet..." Each card - tarot cards, Joker may recognize - would begin to light up, each set of cards seeming to become imbued with their own energy. Fire for Wands. Air for Swords. Water for Cups. Earth for Pentacles, and... Major, the largest of the five swarms - but also the deadliest - was typeless. "... To lose you once - to truly fear that I might never be able to see you again - already hurt enough. Losing you now, after having found you again, would hurt me even more. So..."... Once the cards were all prepared, Arlecchimon would open up her arms widely. With one last crack, a sound like a pin dropping in silence, her mask would fall away; revealing a face akin to that of a Paglimon's. A checkered red-and-yellow pattern, bright green eyes, and... ... Tears, trailing down her cheeks. "... Please. Any time you want to stop attacking, Joker, I'll stop fighting." She'd speak - plea, even - her voice cracking and strained with emotion. "It's a selfish request of mine, to ask you to not keep fighting like this, I know - but... When you're ready to stop, just... Just say the word. Please."Bringing her arms forward, the five swarms of cards would begin to rain down upon Joker; a powerful last-ditch attempt to stop him here and now. With the large numbers of cards, and the power of this attack... Would Joker be able to avoid this attack, and stand up to it?
- Arlecchimon is struck by Ending Snipe, but is able to hang on just enough. - Arlecchimon uses Queen of the Tarot, in a last-ditch effort to stop Joker. Once again, the demonic jester solemnly listened to what his oldest friend had to say, her regrets, her pleas and her grievances. Throughout this encounter, the same vital question had been posed time and time again: Why did he fight? “Why not?” Perhaps only someone like Arlecchimon, who understood him better than most, could really understand what such a simple answer truly meant to him. Perhaps her brief pause was her way of saying that she understood. “Not fighting would be an option before you swore fealty to the Mazoku. Were you to simply let me pass through would make them none too happy with you. They would hurt you, and that… I cannot allow to happen.” Jokah replied. No doubt seeing that he refused to back down too, Arlecchimon prepared her biggest move yet. As expected, the Demon King knew very well what was coming, a look of astonishment permeating his face, as he whispered… something under his breath. It would be very hard to hear. Was he communicating with his Tamer again? Regardless, as Arlecchimon’s mask shattered, revealing her tearful face, she would unleash her Queen of the Tarot, raining a plethora of cards imbued with different elements. And then… “Digi-Modify! Mirror Shield, activate!”A magnificent shield made of pure light materialized in Piedmon’s hand! The first two swarms of Fire and Water would be easily reflected and sent back at his opponent, but the swarms of Air and Earth that followed were merely blocked, cracking the shield’s luminous surface in the process. Finally, the last and most devastating swarm of cards - the typeless Major - not only was too strong for the Mirror Shield to handle, it shattered it completely. Piedmon roared in pain, as a portion of the cards that had originally been thrown slashed away at his torso, his arms and his head, knocking off his monochromatic mask, which fell into the steep chasm below. When the dust had settled, his colorful clothes were all tattered and his body was leaking data from several open wounds, but otherwise he was still standing. Clutching his now unmasked face with his hand, his shoulders started to shake, as his pained grunts soon devolved into another of his hysterical laughing fits. “Heh… Hehehehe… HahahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!” Only this time there was a certain strain to his laughter, as if rather than laughing he wanted to cry and scream to the gods themselves! “I curse the Mazoku for taking you away from me! In doing so, they’ve hurt me in the worst possible way!” Jokah yelled in a hoarse voice, one of his eyes peeking through his fingers and staring right back at Arlecchimon. If she had good eyesight, perhaps she would realize that the reason her fellow clown was covering his face wasn’t to conceal his identity… he was trying to hide his tears. “Making me choose between my pride as a Demon King and killing the only friend I ever loved… That makes me angry! That makes me mad!” The Hellish Clown scowled hard, willing his four swords to unsheathe themselves and float around him. “TRUMP SWORD!!” He screamed, all swords shooting straight at the female harlequin. OOC Notes: - Yuko uses the Card “Mirror Shield” on Piedmon, granting him a shield that reflects the Fire and Water card swarms back at Arlecchimon, blocks but doesn’t reflect the Air and Earth swarms, and finally shatters when the Major swarm hits it. Piedmon receives a hefty amount of damage, but it’s not nearly as bad as it could have been had he not used the shield. - While recuperating from the attack, he uses his Passive, “Laughing Mad”, to buy himself some time. - Finally, he attacks Arlecchimon with Trump Sword. Passives: Old Timer's Knowledge [Passive]: Upon meeting a new Digimon - except those of the "Unknown" family and beings that aren't really Digimon - he can figure out its Species, Attribute, Family and Type. Furthermore, if that Digimon belongs in the Nightmare Soldiers or Dark Area families, he can also figure out its weaknesses, if any. Demon King's Charisma [Passive]: If the user was not hit by any attacks in the previous turn, reduce all of his cooldowns by 1. This ability itself is not affected by this, having a natural cooldown of 3 turns. Hellish Clown [Passive]: As a mysterious Demon Man Digimon from another dimension, and a master of magic and trickery, he gains a high evasion boost against magical, elemental and/or energy-based attacks, at the cost of lowering his defense against physical attacks. Laughing Mad [Passive]: The user roars with diabolical laughter that has a strong mental effect on anyone who hears it, making them feel disoriented for 1 turn and increasing all of their active cooldowns by 1. Usable as a free action with a 3 turn cooldown. Effects: None. Card used: Card Name: Mirror Shield Type: Modify Rank: Gold Duration: 1 Post Effect: The target Digimon gains a shield made of pure light. It can reflect all damage from a single attack of your level or many attacks of the level below. It can reduce damage from an attack of a single level higher, but does not reflect them. Move used: Trump Sword [Attack]: Four swords sheathed into a magic box on his back. They can be wielded as weapons, as well as thrown as projectiles, skewering the opponent. The swords respawn on his back after being thrown.

"..." Arlecchimon would be quiet, at first, at Joker's response. She did not argue further, though; nor did she plea. She'd simply let out a soft, saddened sigh of acceptance, bowing her head. "... Then these are our roles in this play, I suppose."
As the Wands and Cups cards were sent back at her, Arlecchimon did not make any attempt to dodge. It was as though she accepted what was to come, as the cards cut into her; chilling and burning her both at the same time, from the two elements. She could only shout in pain; her arms brought up as though in an attempt to protect herself, before she'd begin to fall- down, down, down, from the height that she had brought herself to, like Icarus himself. And when she'd impact on the ground below, she'd be deathly quiet, deathly still, for a few moments that seemed to stretch onto an eternity. It'd only be when she'd begin to shift and groan weakly, that one would be able to tell that she was still alive - but barely.
As a result of this though, she would be a sitting duck for Joker's Trump Sword; looking as though she wouldn't even be able to find the strength to push herself up, but... A roar would sound out from above, as something leapt down to stand over Arlecchimon; tanking the hit - it was Raiodramon...!
The beast would snarl sharply from the pain; staggering, stumbling, from the swords that were embedded into its body. Bending low, as though to protectively shield Arlecchimon with its body, Raiodramon snarled threateningly at Joker - fearless, even though dealing with it, in the state that it was in, would likely be trivial for the Demon King.
Arlecchimon would stir once more, though; slowly pushing herself up, only to stop when she felt her back press up against Raiodramon's underside. Quietly, blearily, she'd glance up; only to notice the beast's dripping wounds, the way its legs shook with the exertion of remaining standing, even in its weakened state. "... Y-you came back for me," Arlecchimon whispered softly to herself, in observation - a hand reaching up to stroke along the spineless portion of Raiodramon's underside. "Bad boy... I thought I... KHFFF..! t-told you to go home..." Though she tried to scold her pet, her tone was still soft and affectionate; bisected with a sharp cough, drops of her own liquid data left on the crook of her arm that she coughed into.
The cough would prompt an almost parental concern from Raiodramon; the beast craning its head down to look to her, yet Arlecchimon would wave her hand in a dismissive gesture. "I'm a-alright," She tried to reassure Raiodramon, albeit it was quite the lie; in truth, she could feel her core struggling to keep beating. This much bleeding and damage, without any treatment, would surely be fatal. "Down, boy. L-let me stand."
Raiodramon hesitated; yet it obeyed otherwise, stepping aside so that Arlecchimon could get up onto her feet. She'd have to lean against Raiodramon to be able to get past a knelt position, though; the way that she swayed and staggered without the beast's support easily visible. Her breathing was heavy, her eyes were half-lidded and unfocused, and it was likely that Joker was able to see the way that she seemed almost... Delayed, it taking her a second for her to properly register things around her. It was clear that she was in no state to continue fighting; and she recognized this as well, taking no action.
She'd simply lean against Raiodramon, feebly trying to catch her breath, as she looked to Joker. Her vision was too hazy and bleary for her to see that he was crying - and yet... She could hear hints of it, in his voice. "... Joker." Her voice was soft, weak, yet she still tried to call out loud enough for him to hear her; even if her own voice was similarly hoarse. "... Come here, please."
If Joker took her up on her request, Raiodramon would initially snarl as he came close - though gentle shushing and reassurance from Arlecchimon would be enough to keep the beast otherwise docile, for the time being.

The familiar roar, followed by Raiodramon jumping in front of Arlecchimon to take the hit for her surprised even Piedmon. And yet, his expression - what little of it was visible while he still covered his face - was not one of disappointment or annoyance at the fact that his Trump Sword had been blocked by the reckless, yet loyal beast. He almost seemed… relieved.
IceDevimon soon swooped in, carrying Yuko in his long arms, who rushed to her wounded partner’s side as soon as they landed nearby. “Jokah, are you alr- holy shit, your face looks so creepy, cover it right the fuck now!” The girl exclaimed, reeling back in shock as soon as she saw Piedmon’s unmasked face. “Hah. I’m alright, Yuko… thanks to you.” The demonic jester let out a weak chuckle, as he let his long, flame-colored hair to fall over his face, obscuring the right half of it. That way, the portion that was left exposed looked strikingly similar to Jokermon. “Is this better?” “Much!” The Tamer replied, smiling at him.
Clinging to the side of her equally beat up pet, Arlecchimon was definitely in no shape to fight anymore, asking her friend Jokah to come closer for reasons unknown. Yuko looked worried about this, but a reassuring look from him was all it took for her to let go. As the Clown Prince strutted towards them, Raiodramon threatened him with a low-pitched snarl. “Quiet, you big baby! Clown Trick!” Piedmon used one of his signature attacks, but he didn’t actually harm the amphibian beast. Instead, he willed a childish bib to manifest around its neck, and a pacifier in its mouth. At most, this was meant to be annoying.
Reaching the female harlequin at last, the Demon King knelt down in order to reach her eye level. “I’m here…”

Arlecchimon couldn't help a soft weak chuckle, at overhearing Yuko's and Joker's banter. They got along, in their own little way; and even with Arlecchimon's own opinions on humans, she couldn't help but appreciate knowing that Joker wasn't alone. Even if she were to disappear, he'd have his tamer with him - and it seemed that she already did so much for him, if the praise that he had heaped upon her was as he said.
Perhaps, in her next life, she'd give these humans a shot, too.
As Joker used Clown Trick upon the Raiodramon, the beast would initially jolt backwards; as though it were expecting an actual attack, from the Demon King. When all that would happen was the bib and pacifier, though... The Raiodramon shook its head - spitting out the pacifier and sending it tumbling to Homeostasis knows where, and pawing at the bib with one of its claws with a disgruntled-sounding growl.
It'd make Arlecchimon laugh softly; seeing the harmless prank that Joker that had played on her pet, and for a moment, there was a certain genuine happiness to her eyes as she smiled. A moment for her to relax, to let the actress in her take a backseat.
Once Joker was close, though... Arlecchimon would glance to Joker - her smile still there, and yet... A certain sadness, tinging into it. She'd step away from Raiodramon, towards him - though without proper support, she'd be barely able to do anything but stumble forward into Joker, her hands weakly gripping onto his brightly colored and frilly vest - or, at least, what was left of it. She'd hack sharply - the cough wet as though she was congested, as she coughed up more droplets of liquid data. Her breath - heavy, yet weak - would wheeze briefly as she tried to steady it; arranging herself in Joker's arms. "Thank y-you," She'd breathe, as she relaxed against him - tilting her head against his shoulder.
Once situated, she'd glance up to him, and attempt a smile; a hand reaching up to cup his cheek. "... You've been crying." She'd observe, her voice soft - as though she didn't want Yuko to overhear, for the sake of Joker's pride - but knowing. She knew that her own eyes were growing wet, too; though for the time being, she held back any tears. Instead, she'd simply let her thumb stroke over his cheek once more - much like she had been doing before, when she was comforting him, in the Palace of Cards.
"I know I said before t-that..." A pause, another cough and wheeze, yet she'd try to play it all off with a smile - even as a thin line of liquid data trailed down from the corner of her mouth, that she'd wipe away. "... T-that you were growing soft, but... This i-is ridiculous, ain't it?" Despite her condition, despite the events that led to now, Arlecchimon was still trying to joke, to tease, to lighten the mood...
"You'll... You'll make me cry, too, if you cry, you know... A-and nothing's sadder than a sad clown..."

“Hah… Surely you are mistaken, my dear Queen. A true Demon King never cries. I just got some dust in my eyes back when I blew part of the mountain…” Piedmon joked back, laughing softly as he hugged Arlecchimon back. Deep down he knew that there was no way she would believe his half-baked excuse, but it felt nice to fool around with each other, even if it was pretty meaningless. There was something oddly pleasant, yet sad about this personal moment the two of them shared. “Come to think of it, we might have stood on this ridge before, way back in the day… gazing at the Sea of Blood in the horizon and the giant orb of primordial evil in the sky… we held hands and smiled, because it was OUR Sea of Blood and OUR giant orb of primordial evil.”
Yuko sheepishly approached the two, keeping a decent distance from Raiodramon, whom she did not want to mess with at all. “Should we… get her treated?” She asked, not wanting to ruin their moment, but clearly being worried about Arlecchimon as well. “It might not be too late…” “It is. She’s not going to make it…” Jokah replied bluntly, but in a soft tone, as he hugged his Queen closer, tenderly stroking her violet mane of hair, comforting in her final moments. “Don’t worry, this isn’t the end… We’ll find you a new role, a better one, and a better play. This play was ruined by miscasting. That’s the most lenient review I can give it…”

"Ah, dust..." Arlecchimon would sigh as she played along; smiling humorously. She knew it for the excuse it was; but playing along was more fun than calling him out on it. "It gets e-everywhere, and... And it's a pain to clean u-up..." Her voice was getting gradually weaker, requiring more pauses to catch her breath as time went on.
She'd close her eyes briefly, to steady her breath once more - before opening them slightly, as she heard Joker speak once more - mentioning the Sea of Blood, and the orb in the sky. At their mention, she couldn't help but let her eyes gaze out to the red waters below, and the dark chained orb above; chuckling softly. "I r-remember..." She'd murmur; her breath rattling briefly as she exhaled and nodded. "I think, a-at one point... At one point, I r-recall mentioning... wanting to... paint the orb..."
Wouldn't it be funny - she recalled musing to Joker once, a long time ago - to paint the potentially evillest thing in the Dark Area in bright and gaudy colors? To make it look so much less evil than it truly was; to make it the brightest thing in the Dark Area? She didn't entirely recall how exactly that endeavor went, assuming that they did anything with it; her mind growing somewhat hazy... But however the attempt went, she was sure that it must've been hilarious...
Yuko's concern would be met with a soft smile from Arlecchimon; though she'd quietly shake her head. Perhaps, if there was a healer nearby, there could be a chance; though the wounds she accrued thanks to her unwillingness to stop, as well as the reflected Tarot cards, were bleeding too much. The Dark Area wasn't exactly known for their medics, either. The fact of the matter was that, she was slowly passing; and there wasn't much that anyone could do, besides simply being there.
But, perhaps, them being there was enough. The touch thru her hair would make her sigh gently against Joker's neck, as she relaxed against him; an arm weakly wrapping around one of his shoulders, whilst the opposite hand remained on his cheek. "... I a-appreciate it." She'd breathe to Joker in response; tilting her head against his shoulder, so that she could see his face. "My fellow a-actor... My director... My King..." She'd murmur; her voice having dropped to a whisper, though still close enough to Joker, for him to hear her. "You'll... Y-you'll make sure t-that... The s-stage is ready... for my return, r-right?"

As the topic of their discussion shifted to the mysterious, chained orb of malicious energy suspended in the sky above, Jokah briefly looked up at the thing. “Ah yes, I think I remember… I believe we tried to paint a smiling face on it. Hehehe… wouldn’t that be funny?” He replied, chuckling in turn. His memory of those events was also a bit hazy. It kinda was to be expected when one had reincarnated as many times as he had. He did recall, though, that their attempt to even get close to that sphere of darkness to paint it had ended horribly and painfully. But there was no reason to mention a thing like that now, was there?
Realizing that there was nothing she could do to help, Yuko plopped on the ground, sitting cross-legged on it. She kept her head down, tears welled up in her eyes, but she kept her sobbing quiet. Reincarnation or not, watching a friend die before their eyes was too much for any teenager to handle. “Oh dear, having to console two pretty ladies at the same time. I feel like I’m overworked!” The Clown Prince cracked another joke, chuckling softly. He then turned back to Arlecchimon with a somber smile. “Yes, my dear. Your stage will be ready… It’ll be like waking up from a short nap.”

"That... does s-sound about... right..." Arlecchimon chuckled to Joker, nodding in agreement with him. "One o-of us... tried using a... A paintball g-gun, but... That d-didn't end well, I think, eheh..." Trying to think back was difficult; both as a result of memories becoming hazy in reincarnation, and her own mind becoming hazy and lightheaded. Thinking in general, was getting a little difficult.
But still; seeing Yuko cry, Arlecchimon would gaze to her - smiling softly. "Don't c-cry, dear..." She'd murmur - even after coughing once more, her breathing growing raspy and short. "The curtains f-fall on... us all... eventually; s-so..." Arlecchimon would pause to breathe. "... Focus m-more, on... Being t-there for Joker... u-until I'm back..." She'd smile a hint humorously, as she added "I'll h-have some s-stern words... if something happens t-to him... while I-I'm gone, hmm...?"
She could feel the beginning of the end coming; her core slowly, but surely, starting to stop. The beginning of data coming off of her, breaking away from her body. Joker's response, though, would make her smile warmly; relaxed, even as the end was coming. "Thank you, J-Joker..." She'd breathe; her eyes becoming hazy and unfocused, her breathing growing shallower and shallower.
Despite this, she would still try to slowly sit up - to sit up just enough, to press a small peck to Joker's cheek. Once done, she'd lay back in Joker's arms once more; her hand - the fingertips starting to feel cold - falling away from Joker's cheek, to instead rest across her torso. "... D-don't let... the dust... g-get to you... okay?" She'd joke lightly; attempting to weakly smile, up to Joker; even if she had trouble even making out his face, from here. "I'll... see y-you again, soon... I'll... w-wake up, again... soon..."
The data was breaking away from her body gradually faster, more and more; her limbs being the first to go. Her eyes would slowly close as she tilted her head against his shoulder; falling quiet even as the data breaking away would reach her torso, her head... And finally, her core, too, would disappear. The data lingered briefly in the air; but if left untouched, it would eventually disappear as it all begun making its way back to the Village of Beginnings.
Raiodramon, too, would quietly watch as the data disappeared; the beast seeming almost as somber as Yuko and Joker was, as it rose. It'd glance to Yuko, then to Joker, and to where Arlecchimon once was before...
... Before it'd quietly turn away - leaping up to the ridges above, and disappearing from sight; leaving Yuko, IceDevimon, and Joker all on their own.

And so, the inevitable happened, Arlecchimon’s body slowly dissolving into basic code. Her core data - the one containing her personality aspects, her memories and who she was - floated away from the forsaken Dark Area, making its way to the Village of Beginnings. Whatever leftover data remained lingering in the air, Jokah absorbed with a look of gratitude in his face. It was better that he got hold of it than any of the data-hungry gluttons lurking around these mountains. Perhaps if they met again, he could even give it back to her… After the now masterless Raiodramon ran off, Yuko’s low sobbing was the only sound that could be heard for several seconds. Eventually, she felt a finger reach up to her eyes, gently wiping away her tears. “I know you’ll tell me that I shouldn’t cry and that I should smile instead, but just leave me be, okay?” She said in a shaky tone. “I wasn’t gonna say that…” Her partner replied, his voice sounding higher-pitched than usual. It turned out that he had devolved back into Dracmon, his Rookie form. Fighting two consecutive battles must’ve taken a lot out of the guy. “The truth is… it wasn’t dust that got in my eyes.”“Dracmon, you’re…” The young delinquent gasped, noticing the streams of tears underneath his leather mask. She quickly leaned forward and caught the child-sized vampire in her arms, embracing him tightly. After a few minutes of Tamer and Digimon crying into each other’s arms, IceDevimon approached them with a leisurely strut. “Jokah-sama, why are you dressed up like Dracmon?”“Because he IS Dracmon, you moron!” Yuko snapped at the frost demon, before picking Dracmon up in her arms and getting off the ground. “He needs to rest.”“Not for too long, though. I need to get to the Dark Fortress and give the Mazoku a piece of my mind!” The tiny vampire said, sniffling and frowning slightly. “We both will.” His Tamer replied, also sniffling.
She then looked around their surroundings with a puzzled look. “So… do you know any good camping sites around here?”
