Being broke in two worlds was quite the defeating feeling. Sure she had the kind of job back home thatd keep her afloat until graduation, but on the bits Ritsuko and her twin sorcerers could pick up here and there, she couldn't do much resting in the Digital World that wasn't a camp out in humid woods or chilly plains. Getting around anywhere would probably strand them after the fare, and she dumped most of her money into a DigiPort anyway since Trailmon had scared her so badly the first time...But coming to this place? A new town? Reliable work? Making a difference? For Kiry, those were magic words that made her take a beeline towards Rosewood, on foot or on the giant metal deathraps the Digimon here called Trailmon. It was such a relief to get there that she almost forgot what she'd applied to do, but by the time she was dressed in hairnet, nitrile gloves, and apron, her partners couldn't be less shy about reminding her. "What do you mean 'you don't know how to cook'?" Anima pestered, beginning to scoff as they began unpacking their first food storage crate of the day, beginning to sift through it for the good and the bath with mindless efficiency. "We don't need to know, this is all sorting and checking. If we didn't know how to do that we all would've lost our lunches ages ago!" Sumina volleyed back. "Please don't remind me..." Amina continued his work, putting a white glove to his face. Meanwhile, Ritsuko was stuck with the clipboard, having to keep track of pretty much any error and every properly packaged foodstuff, nearly floored by the amount of product they had to go through. At this rate, she'd have to run through each array and chart every box if she wanted to get done! With characteristic hastiness and little training, this was just about all she could think of doing. Things had to be charted before they were unpacked, they had to be examined, and Ritsuko really, really, needed those bits. Apparently she was so concerned with all that charting and inventory that she'd forgotten about a Digimon at least eight times smaller than her tripping her up and making her stumble. Though she recovered with a sigh, Sumina and Anima looked shocked enough to head into an immediate scolding. The first thing that ever left their lips was an "Are you two alright?" spoken in unison as their quite tall general began to dust herself off...

“UWAH!” Ritsuka’s clumsy loss of footing wasp preceded by a high-pitched, squeaky, yet quite loud yelp. Should she look down to the source of the peculiar sound, she would see a strange pink creature that was at least eight times smaller than her, wearing an oversized, burger-shaped hat… and holding a really sharp, normal-sized kitchen knife! Oh no, was she about to get stabbed by the world’s tiniest mugger? “Please be more careful where you’re stepping, Miss Giant… What if you stubbed your toe?” The EbiBurgamon warned her in a polite, but also shaky tone, seemingly on the verge of tears. His own foot had gotten slightly redder than the rest of his body, and had even swelled ever so slightly. Apparently she had accidentally stepped on the poor thing’s toes. Literally. Seeing how this shrimp-inspired Burgamon variant was also wearing an apron, he was clearly there to work too, having answered Rosewood’s ad for help just like Ristuka and her twin partners had. “Oh… You’re a Humon, aren’t you? Are you a male Humon or a female Humon?” The tiny burgeroid asked, taking a better look at the clumsy giantess. He seemed to be just a kid Digimon, since he couldn’t quite tell yet that humans didn’t necessarily have the -mon suffix added to their species. “Female Humon have boobs, right?” A little kid asking innocent questions…

For anything familiar with humans in the area, it'd be quite clear that Ritsuko was...shocked...to say the least. She quickly rose to her feet, dusting herself off and looking at whatever creature she must've bumped into. It was...pink. Pink with a sesame bun cap. How anyone could say this was anything other than adorable was beyond her...at the same time, she had to keep up her larger, more mature appearance. She couldn't squeal over cute things anymore. Kiry kneeled down to look at the Digimon, inspecting the youthful thing to see if she scuffed it. "Ah! Sorry. I hit you without thinking. It's hard to watch out with so many unfamiliar things around...I barely understand how they want us to prepare all this..." She began to explain, giving a remorseful look towards the small creature. "Once you get back to work, I can start teaching you again. There are still more boxes." The Sorcerimon snidely added before the Wizarmon knocked his back with her staff. "Hush, Anima, she ran into somebody!" Sumina scolded, looking back to the others and leaning to give them a once-over while keeping to her post. "I didn't mean to! Gah...but I'm sorry anyway, hope you're not too hurt. I'm General Kirame-" She would've extended her hand towards the small burger-like digimon before his question stifled her. What...what kind of kiddy question...? Her face contorted a little in a mix of surprise and disdain before Sumina walked over and pushed her general aside. Kiry walked off to go back to the Wizarmon's sorting job, a good out so that they could answer the little one's questions. "Yes, she is human, a female human, who do have...those..." She expertly avoided the term, coughing briefly into her hat. It was enough to resist cracking up with the Burgermon said it, if she said it aloud...she'd probably break down immediately. "What's your name? Do you work here?" Sumina asked, trying to avoid the subject of human biology.

The Humon introduced themselves as General Kirame, which was a strange name to be sure. None of the Humon the little Rookie had encountered prior to this had introduced themselves by such a title. “H-hello, Miss Kirame… I’m EbiBurgamon. You can call me Ebi!” He gave his own name in turn, frantically bowing his bun-shaped head. What had gotten over him, why was he so nervous all of a sudden? This person, despite their clumsiness, effortlessly radiated charisma! Is that what it meant to be a ‘General’?
One of the nearly identical wizard-esque Digimon confirmed that Kirame was female and that she did in fact possess the thing known as boobs. Truth be told, Ebi didn’t even know what boobs were, only that ladies had them. How was he supposed to tell male and female Humon apart, if he didn’t even know what they were supposed to look like?
Juvenile problems aside, the young burgeroid was asked another question. “I do. The town asked for help, and I’m a cook. They told me that some of these fruit are gonna be shipped to the Village of Beginnings, so they need to be peeled and cut to pieces first, so that the baby Digimon can actually eat them.” Ebi politely explained, while holding his kitchen knife up. “I’ll need a little help, though… Just put me on top of that table, and I’ll get to work.”

Just as Kiry was getting back to work, Sumina was taking great pleasure in the burger-based life form's introduction. "Ah, our general will be happy about that. You must understand this line of work very well." The Wizarmon cheered, turning back to the heap of boxes in front of the station they worked at and let Ebi towards Anima and the general. "This one knows what he's doing! He can help at the prep station, if you can lift them." Sumina reported to Ritsuko, who'd just finished feeling very proud about her organizational skills. All the fruit looking things were in one pile and all the veggie looking things were in another, the meat looking things were left alone, but that was alright. If she was able to piece this together, maybe there was hope for her. Besides, it did make her feel a little more powerful knowing that she was just about the only person out of all of them who was tall enough to lift Ebi. Well, except for Sumina and Amina stacked on top of each other. "There we go! How's that?" She asked, setting Ebi down. Now that she was looking at the little guy, his appearance carried some confidence as well as some cuteness. Definitely perfect for a job like this. Especially since Amina seemed perturbed by Kiry's own organization job. "Why are those over there?" He asked. "They grow out of the ground." "But those do too." "So how do you know the difference between any of them?!" "Common sense. I suggest you buy some after this job." He snidely finished, returning to making his own lines pristine while Ritsuko was left to give herself a mighty facepalm. "Sumina...Could you help me out...please?" She pleaded. It was a relief to see the Wizarmon so quickly ascend to the table and begin to help her re-sort. "See? This is how productivity happens. Thanks, Sumina." Kiry showed her gratitude with a grin, beginning to pass things down to Ebi's station. "You can handle those, right Ebi?" She asked ever so cheerfully.

“Woah, you have nice hands, Miss. Please don’t drop me…” The EbiBurgamon said as the accident-prone giantess picked him up and lifted him off the ground. Her touch was gentle and soft, no doubt carefully locking her fingers between his tiny limbs, so as to avoid accidentally crushing the poor creature with her superior strength. Ebi smiled a happy, cat-like smile, evidently having no problem being manhandled (monhandled?) like that. Perhaps if he had one of those things called a ‘Tamer’, he could enjoy hugs and warm headpats on an everyday basis. Not that he had any trouble getting hugs and headpats regularly. People were usually surprisingly nice around Ebi, unless they were bad people, in which case they were bad to him. Of course, Kiry’s amusement park ride didn’t last more than a couple of seconds, after which she set the little Burgamon down on the counter, asking him if this is where he wanted to be. “Yeah, this is very dood. Just leave the fruit and veggies over here and I’ll do the rest.” He replied with an affirmative nod, pointing at the counter’s empty space, where he waited for the two Wizarmon variants to finish unloading the foods. After some minor bickering, they did, and Ebi waddled over to the pile, picking up what looked like a pear by human standards and diligently peeling off its flesh. “You have to be careful to only peel the outer layer off. You don’t wanna waste any of the juicy, yummy bits inside.” The young cook explained to his newfound helpers, as he set the now naked pear down, cutting it to even slices with his big knife. It was a funny sight, really; The pear was as big as his head, and the knife was almost as big as his entire body, yet he wielded it with relative ease. Despite his appearance, he clearly had enough experience with this to know what he was doing.

Anima had his attention stolen by Ebi, watching as the creature went to work with his blade and his food. How deft and dexterous at such a size...Should I ask him to teach me? No... surely his technique would transfer poorly to me. He thought, occasionally lifting the brim of his hat to get a better look, a lock of white hair springing out in the process. While the Sorcerimon was lost in thought, Sumina and Ritsuko were putting their organization skills to good use. As long as the Wizarmon was putting food in her hand, she'd put it in its proper place. At some point it looked swift enough to be a well-oiled machine. Well, with respect to the actual Machine-Types present on the food processing site. "Hah, bear witness to the skill of the Carthage-Riemanns!" Kiry cheered while Sumina went migrating to the other end of their little processing line. "Get lost in your family history later, didn't our new friend just say something important?" She pointed out, vibrantly twinkling her eyes as if to cue the Burgermon in. But Amina quickly cut in, breaking out of his stream of consciousness to turn to Sumina. "Oh, he was talking about only peeling the very outside to preserve the sustenance." He explained, bringing Sumina's cartoonish efforts to a halt. Ritsuko moved to the end of the line as well, picking up one of the spare blades once she checked that everything on the other end of the table was in order. "Okay, next step. Just pass everything along from section to section. Run through the rows." Kiry ordered, preparing herself while observing Ebi's work. "Yes, General!" The two responded in unison, a phrase that never ceased to produce a small smirk on her face. "Unnecessary but never unpleasant..." She whispered.

While Ebi did the vital job of peeling the fruit and cutting them to bite-sized pieces, Kiry and one of her Twin partners performed the much less ceremonious, but still important task of categorizing the various foods and organizing them in an orderly fashion, so that it was easier to find where each resource was located. Those baby Digimon in the Village of Beginnings weren’t gonna feed themselves, so it was only through their combined efforts that this could even be made possible. After some gloating on Kiry’s part, she carefully observed the young cook’s dexterous movements, trying to copy him to the extent of being able to peel some of the leftover fruit herself. “That’s the way to do it. You’re pretty good at this!” Ebi encouraged her, smiling brightly at her. People liked it when you gave them praise for their hard work, or so he had been told. This would go on for a while, stopping only after all the fruit and veggies headed for the Village of Beginnings had been peeled, sliced and hopefully organized neatly by Kiry’s helpers. The Burgamon-species would remove his namesake hat so that he could wipe the sweat off his forehead, exposing his pink, bald head in the process. “Was that the last batch? That was a lot of work…” He young Rookie said, catching his breath.

It really was coming around to be the last of them. The teamwork really was making the dream work, and the thought of getting paid in some sweet, sweet bits after this was only motivating them further. After each chop the trio of mercenaries felt closer and closer to the money...a good reward for all the sorting and preparing they were doing. If none of them were keeping track of where they were just then or how much time had passed, the neat boxes of processed food said enough. Their job was finished. "Ah...I don't think I've had to pay this much attention to my fingers in a while...and that's saying something." Sighed Ritsuko, finally resolving to put down her blade and slide it aside for a bit of a break. "General, I believe we're finished." Observed Anima, moving to sheathe the knife in his robes before Sumina stopped him with a scoff. "Yep, mission accomplished! I'm proud of us all, Ebi included." She praised giving a small poke to the pinkish one's nose. "Now we can clock out and get paid!" And that cheer was a relieving one...She hadn't gotten paid for a job ever since the split...none of them had. "Sounds like a plan, men, onward to the entrance!" Ritsuko ordered, watching as her partners nodded and marched on towards the doors. She lagged behind however, leaning over to get a good look at Ebi and looking back and forth before posing her question. "Hey...If I see you around again, could you teach me how to cook with these? I don't usually settle in one place, but just in case we cross paths..." Kiry proposed, taking another set of looks. That is, unless we meet under violent circumstances...I don't know how much priority I could give you little buddy. She wondered, head perking up once she heard her partners calling for her again. "Argh, I've gotta go. But your service was admirable. I'll be happy to see you again, Ebi, farewell." She nodded, beginning to run off after her now bit heavy partners...There definitely had to be a way to keep money out of their greedy sorcerer hands...
