And once again Katsura haven't thought her plan through at all, but hearing Duffer spell it out to her just how little planning was going into the reunion was just annoying. Katsura was looking at her feet right until Duffer accused her of kidnapning, now she had to look up at Duffer.
"It's not!" Katsura exclaimed defensively before realizing he wasn't done speaking, Katsura subsequently stopped and listened. "Sigh fine, Nyao had taken me out for ice cream after... Stuff happened. There was this pied-Jokermon so I had to follow him... Turns out he was with some girl, not Unica-tan Himura-chan... Unica-tan was alone... no best friend, no element power, no idea where her friend is except some city in the digital world. She doesn't want to go anywhere, just swimming and ice cream. She's just a kid, she can't be alone here. Last time you had a wheelchair and still... Kotemon was looking out for you. So you should know the danger of this world by now. I promised Himura-chan to look after Unica-tan. It's not kidnapning and Nyao didn't use her eyes, I said no." In her attempt at defending herself Katsura had apparently forgotten that Duffer didn't know about Nyao's eyes, but then she got an idea of how to get through Duffer: By taking advantage of his obsession with horror comics.
"Duffer? In your comics what happens when girls like Unica-tan are left alone?" Feeling like she had given Duffer something to think about, Katsura went to ordering.
"Just some pink softice."
Nyao nodded that the fish was indeed for her, the first thing she did after getting it was revealing her claws. Nyao made some brutally slashes seemingly in the thin air. But then dig her claw in the fish. Nyao picked up a perfectly cube of fish with said claw and ate it before looking at the improved drawing.
"Isn't that a Biyomon?" Nyao inquired.

Unica watched Nyao in awe, or fear, as the feline displayed her claws and began to fillet the fish into tiny cubes in a rather comedic flurry of mid-air swipes. The young tamer continued staring at the black kitty even as Kotemon asked if the eyes on Birdie's wings were real or merely a pattern. "Um..." Unica mumbled, too distracted by what Nyao was doing to properly answer the question. The black kitty seemed to have no problem multitasking, however, for she turned her attention to the drawing on the table. When she asked if it was a Biyomon, Unica huffed and frowned. "No, I told you!" she snapped, sounding rather annoyed, "It's Birdie."
After clarifying that Birdie was Birdie and not 'Biyomon,' Unica glanced down at the drawing and noticed something peculiar. There were eyes on Birdie's wings now. "Ah!" she squeaked in surprise. "Nooo!" she whined, picking up the pen Katsura had given her previously and scribbling over the new addition to her drawing. "It's ruined!" Unica cried out, her bottom lip trembling. There was no telling exactly what it was about the Kotemon's sketch that made Unica so upset. Perhaps it was because the eye patterns were on the outside of her wings rather than on the inside, or perhaps it was just the idea that someone had "fixed" her artwork without her permission.
In a dramatic display of how defeated she felt, Unica pushed the pen and paper halfway across the table, crossed her arms on the table, and buried her face in her arms. "Nooo..." she whined, her voice muffled as she spoke. It didn't seem like she was crying -- her voice didn't quiver, her shoulders didn't shake, and she didn't sniffle. Then again, there was no way to tell for certain without being able to see her face. She was having a tantrum, as was expected of any child, but there was a possibility that this specific tantrum was due in part to how tired she felt and how frustrated she was by the idea of looking for her partner when she didn't want to.

Duffer paused, looking over at Unica, seeing the little girl with the two digimon. "You're right, I'm sorry..." He took the hand off her shoulder. "I should've known better than to jump to that kinda conclusion." He took some bits out of his pocket and lay them on the counter, accepting his cone from the server as it went to go prepare Kats'. He briefly paused at the mention of Himura, looking at Kat. "Small world, I met a girl named Himura and a Jokermon the other day at the arcade... but that's not the point, have you actually ever seen her Biyomon? And uh... what did you mean about using her eyes?" He asked as he began into his ice cream.
Kotemon was not used to children, even with Duffer he was still a teen. Any idea of what he'd done to mess up the little girl's drawing it was far too late to fix. Desperately the mon tried to remind her of the ice cream, and the fun they were having. "Come on Unica, don't worry, don't worry, you can make another drawing!" He tried to give her the crayons back, then turned to the BlackGatomon for assistance.

Finally something went right, at least Katsura's talking skills haven't let her down. Huh, Duffer knew Himura?
"Well with portals I get where I want... Sometimes it feels like I'm in more places on same time. It's wierd. Biyomon?"
In spite of having been in the digital world for a full year plus, Katsura was actually very sheltered. Katsura took her digidevice and browsed it mid-conversation which made her look like a regular teenager who just got an important text-message, in actually she had to look up a "Biyomon"
"Oh that one... Like Bibi, one of Timothy's friends... You know him? Oh right, no... No luck yet. But it must be somewhere bird-like, I'm sure."
Still Katsura realized that Duffer didn't know about Nyao's eyes, but right now she wasn't interested in letting him know. "Oh, there's my ice cream... Don't want my food to be cold." Katsura said, not actually answering the question. In her credit there was a cup of strawberry soft-ice on the desk next to Duffer's money. Katsura took the cup and returned to her seat... To eat ice cream and sushi before it gets cold apparently.
And what a treat she was in for!
First Unica "corrected" Nyao that it wasn't Biyomon but 'Birdy'.
"Right, and you're Girl the girl" Nyao snarked, maybe sarcasm help sending the hint of what Nyao meant. Either way Nyao kept eating her fish by spiking one cube after another with her claws and eat it.
Chaos had ensued because Kotemon had ruined Unica's drawing. For a feline like Nyao, hearing the motherload of temper tantrums was amplified in her sensitivive ears. Oh what is Nyao to do? Katsura was the brain not Nyao. Well Kotemon gestured for Nyao to do something.
Nyao sighed, she was embarrassed by what she was about to do. Nyao jumped off her chair and started walking around Unica's legs while purring nodging pleasantly while marking her with scent. For once Nyao was far more cat than mon to look at.

Unica was in no mood for Nyao's teasing or Kotemon's reassurance. It wasn't just the drawing she was upset about. She was sick and tired of the interrogation regarding Birdie. She was overwhelmed by being in this unfamiliar city with a group of people she hardly knew. And she was exhausted after having swam in the ocean for close to an hour. So it wasn't just the drawing. The drawing was merely what pushed her over the edge. It was easy for her to voice he complaints about her artwork -- it was more difficult for her to verbalize everything else she was stressed about, not that she fully understood why she was so irritable and exhausted anyway.
Because of everything that had preceded this very moment, Unica refused to accept the crayons when Kotemon offered them to her and suggested she make another drawing. She simply groaned loudly and shook her head, keeping her face buried in her arms all the while. It wasn't until she felt something rub against he leg that her head perked up and she glanced below the table to find Nyao rubbing against her like a normal cat would. The young tamer giggled suddenly. "Silly kitty!" she squealed while reaching under the table to try petting the dark feline.
Her fingertips brushed against one of Nyao's ears, but the angle was too awkward and uncomfortable for her to stroke any more of the cat's body. Instead of asking Nyao to get closer or settling with the single pat, she decided it'd be a good idea to get down to the Digimon's level. With an excited giggle, Unica turned, hopped off her chair, and slipped below the table in pursuit of Nyao. She wanted nothing more than to catch the kitty, hold it in her arms, and stroke its head. She was so focused on the task at hand that she didn't even notice Katsura or Duffer returning.

"I have no idea who Timothy is." Duffer admits, trying to think back. Her statement on Ice cream made him lose his train of thought about Nyao's magic eye abilities, and focus on making sure his cone didn't melt. "Man, the servings here are pretty small... back in the states when you bought a cone you got a scoop the size of a fist." He held out his fist to emphasize. Kotemon breathed a sigh of relief that the child had calmed down. Are all human children like this? He thought to himself as the boy and girl came closer. "So, you two. I found out a bit more about the elusive Birdy." The lizard in arms acted like nothing had gone wrong, fooling only himself. "She apparently has an 'eye' under her wing. A tattoo or a feather pattern perhaps?" The mon picked his legs up to avoid kicking the little girl who was now under the table. "Evidently smaller humans are more sensitive than others." Duffer picked up the biyomon drawing, now covered in pink crayon, humming as he scratched his head. "So uh, where is she?" He sat down at the booth, and Kotemon pointed down. The boy immediately stood up again, really hoping he hadn't accidentally stepped on her.

What Nyao have to do for the team, well it did what it was supposed to. Now Nyao was stuck in the arms of Unica while getting headpats. Hmm not a bad compensation in hindsight, still Nyao couldn't wait for Katsura to come back. Fortunately she did and saw Unica-tan getting along with Nyao.
"See? This is why humans and digimon need to be together." Of course not having been around 2 minutes ago made it easier to come to the wierd conclusions and missing her own part of the situation. Katsura completely bought Kotemon's act that everything had been calm.
"Oh that's good... So now we know what she looks like and what kind she is... Oh Nyao!" Katsura said cheerfully and went under the table as well, kneeling before Unica-tan. "I missed you so much! Did you miss me too?" "Of course."
"Let's never be away again"
And so Katsura got up, took Nyao's plate and started feeding Nyao the cubes by hand. As of now Katsura hadn't even touched her Maki.

While Unica was far too distracted with holding and petting Nyao, the other three were discussing what to do next regarding Birdie, the young tamer's elusive Biyomon partner who no one knew very much about. Kotemon explained how Birdie had a pattern of an eye on the inside of each wing, but this comment didn't illicit much of a response from the two older children. Inside, they promptly got distracted by the young girl who was hidden below the table. Unica smiled when Katsura joined them, glad to have the company. And yet, holding Nyao so close no longer felt right to her; after all, the BlackGatomon wasn't her partner. And so, she released the cat and watched in silence as the mysterious girl began to hand-feed Nyao the diced fish. After a moment, Unica glanced around, mostly out of boredom. It was then that she noticed the boys' feet -- one pair belonging to a human and the other to a Digimon. With a devious grin, she crawled over to Kotemon's tucked legs and grabbed them somewhat forcefully. "Boo!" she giggled. "Did I scared you? Are you scared?" she squealed while peeking her head out from under the table to look at Kotemon's face.

Duffer looked at Katsura, confused. "...You do know that normal cats exist, right?" Kotemon looked similarly confused. "Uh, yeah... Miss Katsura, how do you suggest we move forward on this matter?"
Duffer sighed at Katsura and Nyao's odd infatuation with one-another. They were gone less than five minutes and they're immediately lovey dovey... and what kind of ice cream shop sold sushi? Before the boy could interject the little girl popped up from the table to try and scare him. Having watched dozens of hundreds of horror movies the boy knew exactly how to react to a child trying to scare him. "Oh noooo!" He said, over-acting poorly. "Oh jeeze, don't do that! I'm carrying something." The boy was not nearly as good as the overpaid actors he admired, but hopefully the little girl would be entertained by this.
"The little girl seems intent on us calling her birdy, but she appears to be a biyomon. Perhaps we should take it upon ourselves to educate her on the difference between name and species?" "Is that really priority number one instead of finding her family, partner, or a place to stay?" The boy pointed out. "Again, it's up to Kat and Nyao. I didn't want to be here at all."

Katsura returned Duffer's confused look. "Umm cats don't talk." To Kotemon, Katsura just shrugged. Really this was the extent of all Katsura's planning ahead and there was little point even trying to pretend anymore. Eventually, Katsura got Nyao back and with her in the arms she finally sat up again with Nyao in her lap now shifting between feeding Nyao and herself. That was until Katsura saw Duffer making an attempt to look scared, attempt being the operative word which left Katsura staring at him deadpan with rolling eyes.
"Really?" unlike Duffer, Katsura had real experience faking emotions not to mention seeing people with nightmares to her it was a minor pet peeve to see Duffer making a joke out of her art. Katsura partly zoned out when Kotemon discussed about teaching Unica-tan about species before being dragged into the conversation by Duffer.
"We should find Unica-tan's best friend for life. She's a bird so she's doing bird things I think."

Unica's already high-pitched squeal of excitement only increased in volume when Duffer pretended to get scared. She recognized his reaction as fake enough to not take his words too seriously -- she wasn't actually in trouble for nearly making him drop his ice cream, and she knew this -- but his reaction still felt genuine enough for her to feel successful in her efforts to frighten one of her acquaintances. "You were so scared!" she howled, her face growing redder as she continued to laugh. It was a mystery how quickly a child could snap from one emotion to another, from hysterics and stubbornness to playfulness and excitement. But that's how it was. Children were selfish by nature, and Unica was no different. She wished to do things that she deemed fun, not what others told her to do.
For instance, she did not want to look for Birdie, though her new caregiver, Katsura, insisted that they look for the avian Digimon. Regardless, the socially awkward, red-eyed girl had a point when she said that Birdie was a bird and would probably be doing "bird things," such as flying through the air, perching high above the city streets, and nesting in abandoned buildings. The group of five could have searched the entire city. They could have stopped every Biyomon they saw and demanded to look at the interior of their wings for the eye pattern Unica had recalled, but that would take forever and would likely anger the Biyomon who were victimized by the search. Perhaps the group could've asked around instead; maybe someone knew of Birdie.

The boy continued to enjoy his ice cream as he sat down, the scoops thankfully having melted too bad since he'd left them in the cone. "Why do they act like that, Kotemon? Is that how normal tamers act?" He whispered to his digimon. "They're hardly normal, if you ask around I'm fairly certain they're some of the only ones stranger than us." Kotemon whispered back.
Suddenly a thought hit Duffer's writer like a train, the stupid idiot had neglected his common sense just as the character he was writing. "Oh! We could ask around! We have a name, a species, and an identifying marker." Kotemon thinks. "Biyomon are usually outgoing and friendly, it's entirely possible that if she came around here before we'd find someone who'd met her... thing is, it doesn't seem the little girl is actually all that interested in returning to her friend." The digimon pointed out, arching its invisible brow. "She seems content to just play with us. Perhaps we should just return her home and let Birdie come back on her own."
"Thing is, I don't think she understands that uh... normally digimon are supposed to stick out. If she shows the wrong person she could land in some hot water."

Nyao had an exceptional good hearing, well not by feline standards but it still meant she could hear Duffer and Kotemon talking about Katsura. As Nyao's ears made a twitch she sent Duffer a glance just to let him know she can hear him. Katsura meanwhile felt she had hit a wall, it was a matter of time before she could no longer keep Unica-tan occupied and then things will just start to get complicated. No Katsura had to find Birdy fast but how?
And as if reading Katsura's mind Duffer had an idea, asking around.
"So where do Biyomon live, Kotemon?" Katsura asked him, curiously Katsura seemed very disinterested at the rest of the conversation. As soon as the topic shifted to send Unica home Kotemon lost all eye contact with Katsura who rest her palm in her fingertips until Duffer shifted the topic back.
"Right, we need to help her."

It was fun for a while, when the group was paying attention to her... but as soon as Duffer took his eyes off Unica and turned his attention back to Katsura and Nyao, things were boring again. The seven-year-old stayed under the table as her hysterical giggles slowed and naturally subsided. When she no longer had anything fun to do, she began glancing around for something new and interesting. As the older tamers and their partners discussed what ought to be done next, Unica crawled between two of the chairs and slipped away without a word. She stayed on all fours for a while, pretending to be a cat and meowing at passersby without shame. She made her way under a few nearby tables before spotting a FanBeemon making its way down the street. Unica crawled a bit farther before hopping to her feet and spreading out her arms to either side. "Bzzz!" she buzzed while dashing forward into the crowded city streets. She flapped her arms rapidly over a short distance as she zigzagged between Digimon and humans who were on their way to destinations unknown. "I'm a bee!" she announced to one Digimon who starred a moment too long in confusion. "Bzzz!" she said again while resuming her journey.

"Biyomon are very adaptive digimon, they can live anywhere with warm or tropical climates, and can live off of meat, vegetation, and anything in between. Yggdrasil must've had a soft spot for them sinc-" "Alright Unica," Duffer cut off his ally and looked down. "Let's get you back hom-" He found himself similarly cut off as the little girl seemed to have vanished. "AGH! THE KID'S GONE!" He shouted, dropping his ice cream onto the cat digimon. He immediately leaned down to look under that tables, and looked to the surrounding booths. "Crap crap crap, I'm not a parent, I'm not even an older brother!" He turned to the goth girl in a panic. "What do we do? What do we do?" "Always calm under pressure, aren't you?" Kotemon shook his head. "Well the obvious answer is she went one of two ways. She either went into the back for ice cream, or got so bored with our arguing she wandered out into the streets. If we look in the back, then problem solved!" "And if she isn't?" "You remember all those cartoons where a baby wanders into a construction site?" "N...No?" "Remember in Final Destination 2 where that kid gets smashed by a giant sheet of plate glass?" "OH MY GOD!" Duffer rushes into the back of the restaurant, knocking the digitamamon to the floor.
