"You're not looking hard enough. Keep looking. Are you just going to give up like that?" Priere chided(?). She was certain the fairy had better object-finding skills than this. Besides, this was a closet, there was bound to be at least one kigirumi in there somewhere, right? "Besides, why would Anzu lie about this?" Priere continued. Her attention was, admittedly, split between Arianna and Anzu.
The latter had to be watched to ensure she...didn't mess up what seemed to be something quite important to her. The former?
Raiding Akemi's closet.
On Anzu's end, though, even though it was a bit late to theorize how exactly the cards worked...It was still definitely a subject worth pursuing. "If...If I can add to that. Maybe it does represent the four of us' bond, but...since we technically made them, it responds more readily to our bond...?"
The memories of Minervamon's duel with Luke resonated through Anzu's head, and the bean fell silent for a few moments. Why was...Why was Jazz shaking? "J-Jazz...?" She asked. Was she okay? Why was her core racing like this, too?
...At least Jazz answered her, though. "Um...I haven't, either..." She trailed off almost immediately. "D-Do...Do you want to g-go on a date with me? N-Not n-n-now, obviously, but...Soon? Like...Like for V-Valentines?" Why was this so hard for her to vocalize? Anzu seemed pretty anxious right now, too.
Please help. There were more important matters than wine to deal with at this very moment. Akemi gave Katherine a nod, nonetheless. The wine could wait. It really could. "She did...I...I think I have a theory as to why that is. Why she makes no sense, yet...seems capable of everything." This was going to be some hodgepodge bullshit. But, it was something Akemi figured out a day or two after that whole fight on the beach.
"Given she's made of Anzu and Jazz, two girls who are rivals in a sense...Perhaps the reason her head might be a mess, the reason behind her madness is because of how different the two minds making her up are. And yet...they still act with the same purpose in mind." What did she feel?
"...I feel like she knows what she has to do. She knew it back then. I have no doubt if Anzu and Jazz fuse again now, she'll also know what needs to be done to help us through whatever troubles we might have. The source of her power, though..." Akemi paused.
It had to be love, right?
She's the reason behind the existence of their Love Letters.
That was the only possible answer she could...even think on.
"Kath, do you think she's powered by love? Like...Not just any love we might have, but...Between Anzu and Jazz?"

At first, Arianna seemed quite shocked at such an aggressive way of supporting her bestowed by Priere. Then she was just… motivated. “All right! I’m going to nonoroku find this now!”
With an expression that denoted pure determination, the fairy turned back towards the closet. She could think of plenty of reasons why Anzu would lie but… She was still going to give her the benefit of the doubt. Instead of questioning anything else, she had decided to summon some help for this important endeavor.
“… And you are going to help me!” In a swift movement, Arianna took Priere’s hand and… pulled herself and the nun inside the closet, before closing the door abruptly. Huh. An odd plan. Had she really thought this through? Or was she just having too much fun?
While the sound of the door closing did manage to startle Jazz for a second or two, the importance of this conversation helped her get back into the focused mood quite quickly.
“I think it does.” Jazz replied, showing Anzu a firm node. “Jaenryu said DNA evolution is accomplished when both parts are absolutely synchronized, didn’t he?” That’s what the dragon had explained back in Bastian's warehouse! “He said… our desire to protect who we love had to be stronger than our desire to defeat our enemies.” She mused, letting herself be carried away by these thoughts. “When Minervamon appeared back at the beach, I feel she was not as strong as when we fought Luke. Maybe because we were focusing on the right things when we were at the Dogma Tower, mainly because we had talked to Jaenryu already.” A final pause. “… I think that’s why we feel Minervamon can keep surpassing her limits, because her power depends entirely on us and our mindset.”
They could have the wrong mindset but... as long as they were synchronized, they could fuse. If they had the RIGHT mindset, though, then their power would increase.
That… made sense. But what was this sheer strength relying on, exactly? The answer to that would have to wait. Anzu’s question about the date had come.
Then, when the bean went on to posit that second question… Jazz just gasped. Slowly, her cheeks started to gain a reddish color, which only got stronger as she realized Anzu had to mean a date in a romantic way. Many questions raced through her mind, none of them finding any solid answer. The pink-haired girl seemed to be fairly nervous about this whole ordeal, and now Jazz was too!
To avoid the next seconds being of sheer silence while she died inside, Jazz rushed to throw some type of answer in Anzu’s way. “V-Valentines…?” She has read about that. It was a day where humans celebrated love, wasn’t it? While her curious mind was interested in experimenting a day like that herself, there seemed to be something else making her really nervous. Whatever it was, she would try to keep her mind away from that and deliver an answer.
“Su… S-Sure.” She nodded, before her eyes trailed towards the floor timidly. Why would she decline such an invitation? What did it mean she couldn’t think of any reason to give a negative answer?
Meanwhile, a dim purple light was turned on inside of Akemi’s closet. It was coming from Arianna’s index finger! The fairy had her digit raised and tried to illuminate the wardrobe’s insides. She did this only to find out… Priere’s face was less than an inch away from hers. Well, that made sense, this place wasn’t that big!
Inevitably, Arianna blushed a little.
“S-Sorry. I didn’t think this place would have so… little room for us.” Maybe they should start looking? Could they even start looking in this situation?
Akemi’s input only made Katherine remember one of the reasons why she was her best friend. Although usually quiet and not keen on delivering flamboyant arguments on a daily basis, Akemi was brilliant. Just hearing this theory made Katherine’s eyes widen. “T-That makes… a lot of sense.” She admitted excitedly. “They are actually very different, and yet somehow they manage to synchronize their thoughts and sentiments into a single being. She’s completely crazy, but they still manage to protect us.” Was that because of their sole desire to protect who they loved? "That makes it even more admirable."
It seemed like, slowly, the two pairs were getting to the truth behind Minervamon and her power.
“That was… exactly what I was thinking.” The Spaniard admitted, flailing her legs a little bit while still laying on Akemi’s couch. Suddenly, she reincorporated into a sitting position, getting ready to have her wine once her friend served it for her. “I used to think part of her power could be coming from our feelings towards each other.” She noted, her green eyes timidly looking down. “But now… I have noticed… Jazz acting differently when she talks about Anzu. I haven’t asked her properly because I don’t want to make her uncomfortable but…”
A sigh.
“… I don’t know. I feel their bond is becoming stronger than ever.” If that made sense.

Perhaps that was a little aggressive for Priere, but she wasn't necessarily the best at supporting people. Or encouraging them, to boot. Hell, part of her even worried she didn't even do that right.
And then she got pulled inside the closet by a Kazemon. A combination of words that one would not expect to read every day, most assuredly. Why did Arianna do that? Perhaps the Sistermon would find out soon enough. Besides. Anzu didn't...really care too much about what they were doing.
They could handle their own business while she sorted stuff out with Jazz.
"Yes. He did." Anzu nodded a few times. She didn't have much else to say that Jazz wasn't saying already, and it was all stuff she could rationalize and see the reasoning behind, too. There was still a lot to find out regarding the form, but there was a part of Anzu that felt as though answers would come in time, even if more questions may end up arising as a result.
Regarding her fairly dread-inducing question, however, she watched Jazz pretty carefully with a nervous expression on her face. How much nerve did she have to work up to even pop such a question towards the Lopmon? Did Jazz even know what Valentines was? Anzu couldn't tell, but...There was something far more important here than that.
Jazz said yes.
Anzu sprang forth to hug the Lopmon as tightly as humanly possible, while making a squee that could definitely be heard from the confines of the closet, and downstairs!
Speaking of the closet...
"My, my...I didn't know you had such inclinations towards dragging acquaintances into a cramped closet. For the sake of finding pajamas." It was hard to tell just HOW much sass Priere was injecting into that sentence, but it was a fair amount. "It's fine, though. I'm a lady who knows the place she lives in like the back of her hand. Just try not to get any funny ideas while I look."
There was barely any room for them to move, and barely any room for them to even look for anything, but Priere set about dutifully rummaging through drawers. Within a few seconds..."Found one." She uttered, handing a pair of bunny-themed pajamas to Arianna. But, the Kazemon wouldn't be satisfied with one, right?
No, she had to keep finding more. Odd noises from above (that just sounded like Anzu seeing something cute) aside, Akemi thought the same regarding Anzu and Jazz. They were two...drastically different beings, with very different origins from what Akemi knew about Anzu.
So, if you mix the two together, of course you get the paragon of madness. Yet, even an avatar of insanity could have an objective she stuck to, right?
...
Perhaps she should learn a thing or two from Minervamon.
"I still think it's...equal parts our feelings and equal parts Anzu and Jazz. And...Honestly, Anzu talks about Jazz like she's the sweetest girl in the world. It's to the point where my sister and Priere are starting to wonder if she has a crush on her or something..."
Needless to say, nobody had dared to inquire. Anzu was very protective of her feelings. "How exactly does Jazz act...?" Akemi decided to hazard this question while pouring wine and offering a glass to Kath.
"I do feel the same, though..."

It seemed like this little encounter had helped Jazz and Anzu understand a lot more about that warrior they became when their data fused. Minervamon was still a bag of enigmas but… at least they had some theories about her existence now.
Yes. That was the main result of this exchange. Well, that and, of course… Jazz and Anzu having a date! Something that made the bunny even more nervous than the existence of Minervamon itself. Even if she couldn’t quite determine why just yet.
Oh. Hug! Yes. Hugs were good. Especially if coming from Anzu. Naturally, Jazz reciprocated that tight hug with one that was equally snug.“What would you like us to do that day?” She asked, still holding the holosuited bean tight.
Once that was out of the way and without really paying much attention to Arianna and Priere’s mission, Jazz’s eyes trailed down towards the gaming console in Akemi’s room. “So… are you going to invite me to play videogames with you too?” She had mentioned before for a reason! SHE WANTED TO PLAY NOW.
Back in the closet? Arianna celebrated the first pajama found, while Priere was determined to increase that number. Something the fairy was perfectly fine with! And yet still…! She didn’t appreciate the noun being sassy! “W-What do you mean by inclinations?” Without really understanding the obvious joke about drawing someone into a closet, she couldn’t help her cheeks from getting a natural flush. “It’s not like we’re doing anything weird!” She explained while Priere’s rear was… pretty much all over her. The space was very limited!
“Now you have to get one more of these. You’re wearing them with me!” And she meant that, you know?
“You might be right.” After reincorporating on the couch, Katherine offered a nod to Akemi’s point. While receiving her glass of wine, Katherine just listened to her friend as she theorized about Anzu’s recent behavior. She couldn't help but… blink and stare at her for a second or two.
Just… thinking about Anzu acting like that felt… both out of place and completely accurate at the same time. “I-I had no idea,” Katherine muttered. “I’ve always had trouble understanding what lies in Anzu’s mind. But you know her a lot better and… if you’re feeling that… maybe it’s true?” Could it be? Could it be the bean had a crush on her bunny!?
“Well… as you can probably tell, she acts a lot more calmly now that she is back at being a Lopmon. So… that also means she is not that vocal about her feelings. More like… she hides them better.” Yes. That was it. “However, she is also a lot more affectionate. She likes hugging and taking things slow. I can feel her attitude towards Anzu had changed but… I can’t tell if that’s just part of her natural change of demeanor or if there’s… something else happening.”
Did that make sense? Finally, the Spaniard took a moment to start drinking her wine.
“This is good!” It was!

"I wanna get something nice to eat with you. Like...Um. I want to have dinner with you like the people in the movies do. A-And I want to hang out with you! M-Maybe go someplace I haven't been to here yet!" Anzu was...starting to get really enthusiastic, even if she just threw that plan together haphazardly, in her most sincere opinion.
And with each word, she held Jazz tighter. This...This felt strangely nice. "Yes! ...What do you want to play?" Akemi had quite a few games, at least from what the girls could see! What would Jazz pick out?
"I mean exactly that. Inclinations. Towards dragging people places." Whatever could Priere be attempting to imply towards Arianna? "I mean, I don't know, dragging a girl you met only today into a closet to find clothes might be seen as weird by someone. Not me, though. I'm fine with it." Did Priere even care?
Who knows. She's still fishing out clothes and handing them to Arianna. "Here, have another. I'll just wear this one." Once Akemi finished talking about how Anzu acted and inquired towards Jazz, she took a sip from her wine while Katherine spoke. "Maybe it is." She shrugged, before taking another sip.
So, as expected, Jazz's demeanor took a huge shift now that she was a Lopmon once more. As such, she was more subtle. More sneaky. "Huh, Anzu loves hugs..." She uttered. The way the two acted towards each other was more noticeable too. Interesting. "I don't know if it's from the jogressing or if it's something beyond that, either...Hopefully we'll find out soon, right?"
Akemi grabbed the remote and switched the TV on. Thankfully, cable was something she had, so she flipped through the channels a bit until a documentary was found...just starting. Nice. On the hour, too! "Glad you like the wine! It's...one of my mom's favorites." She offered Kath one of the fondest smiles she could muster. "Don't drink too much too quickly, though. Anzu never shuts up about savoring wines. It's...stuck in my head now." She admitted.

"I didn't think of Anzu as someone who loved hugs." To be honest, Katherine was pleasantly surprised! "She definitely is sweeter than what she tries to put out there." The Spaniard only showed an honest smile, actually amused by the bean's attitude. "Hopefully we will." A firm nod. Making herself more comfortable on the couch, Katherine just sighed and took another sip. "This looks interesting." Her green eyes on the screen, the Spaniard just frolicked with her hair while holding her cup with her other hand. She blinked twice while listening to Akemi's input. "Okay. I'll listen to Anzu's advice, given she seems to be a wine expert and lover of hugs."Not much to add for the rest of the night. Just a nice evening with her best friend. Maybe they... were going to be okay? Things were about to change between them, in some way. In other ways? They still had a lot to offer to each other. “That sounds great.” Tilting her head with an expression that could only be defined as adorable, Jazz delivered her fondest smile to her friend. She was totally up for that! It sounded like a really fun time, in all honesty. Anzu’s enthusiasm had gotten to Jazz, and the holosuited bunny was happy to see her friend happy. This had been happening for a while, though. For a time now, they both had been working together to preserve each other’s wellbeing. Their happiness, too. So… if when Anzu was happy, Jazz was happy, didn’t it mean that their feelings had started to merge before their bodies did? “Well… I don’t know about videogames, but maybe you could recommend something from the catalog.” A playful giggle punctuated that sentence while Jazz took a sit on the floor, right in front of the console. With her hand, she invited Anzu to sit next to her. This was great. She was going to have so much fun with her friend! With Arianna and Priere coming out of the closet wearing Akemi’s pajamas as disguises, things were only about to get more fun! Laughing, sharing and loving. The battle in the Dogma Tower was finally resting where it belonged: the past. Of course, their adventure was far from over and, of course, things would most likely get difficult again. That’s why they needed to keep nourishing their friendship and strengthening their bond. That’s why they needed Minervamon to keep getting stronger. That way, they would not only become physically stronger but maybe their love for each other would keep growing too. No, furthermore, maybe that was what they needed to make each other happy forever. Just… being together. Minervamon could do it, right? She had been born from a bond that transcended reality, after all. Maybe her power was just as infinite as their love for each other was. Maybe that’s why they felt she could bring them to victory in any type of battle. And, when she did? Well… SECOND ARC.
CHAPTER I: WINTER DAYS
