Post by Toki Akiyama on Nov 25, 2019 7:27:23 GMT
Here once again, the Blossom Isles. Toki had spent his time away from here after the defeat of Cherubimon, and what he felt was his biggest failing. Now, however, Toki's mind and body have recovered. His spirit had been shattered, but he picked up the pieces and steeled himself for the future with the help of friends, family, and the new spirit within his Digivice. However, today was not going to be a simple stroll across the great Shinriku Bridge and he knew it. Word had spread of a powerful Digimon running rampant on the massive bridge that connected two of the islands, completely disrupting the valued trade routes. Not even ships were safe according to the locals. This would not do. Not at all.
While remaining human, Toki began to cross the bridge. The massive structure never failed to amaze him with its intricacies and the sheer size of it. How long it must have taken to build it. There was a serenity to his movements, as if he wasn't even preparing for a fight. A voice spoke to him from his Digivice "And you're sure you're ready for this?"
"Absolutely. I've been fighting myself long enough. It's about time I get back to doing something that matters. For my sake...and for the sake of everyone."
"That's the sort of talk I like to hear. Knock'em dead, pal."
Toki smiled at the encouragement from his new friend. This would be the first time he was going to use the final gift that Tsusagimon had left him. A Digimon form that was new yet familiar, just waiting to reach out and fulfill its purpose. Toki remained patient as he walked further across the bridge and towards the beginning of a new chapter in his story.

Lurking within the shadows of the Blossom Isles, a mysterious figure lay hidden from sight from the puny human crossing the bridge above him as he silently sharpened his two blades, his sight focused on the spirit warrior beyond him. You see, normally in a situation like this he would go immediately for the kill for any hapless human or Digimon that crossed by, effortlessly tearing into his prey, but this wouldn't be the case for this very moment. The Tyrvamon chuckled softly as his greatest prey crossed the bridge, listening as the poor fool talked to his little sockpuppet, and walked right into his trap. He had heard tales about this legendary warrior, how he managed to play a part in destroying the D-Reaper, how he somehow was in cahoots with a legendary Digimon called Tsusagimon. All he had to do now was decimate the weakling, preferably slowly and painfully, and take his spirits for himself, and soon, his harvest would be complete. With a single snap of his fingers, giant dark flames arose around the bridge, trapping Toki inside. The wood did not burn, but the flames rose high into the sky, preventing Toki from going out, or anyone else from going in. Except for himself, of course. A cruel smile emerged from his face as he watched the fruits of his labour play out. A few moments later, a loud cry reverberated throughout the entire bridge, "Toki Akiyama! You have fallen into my domain, where I rule and I rule alone! You are a fool to think of challenging me in the first place! Stopping me from collecting my sacrifices to summon the great one to clear the world anew, and to create a brand new perfect world! There is only one way you will be able to leave! Surrender your spirits to me at once, and I will promise you a quick and painless end! But if you dare take one step further, I will ensure your death will be as slow and painful as possible! The end is coming, pitiful human, and the dawn of a new age will be called forth, all thanks to your naive 'heroism' bringing you here! So, what will it be? You only have a few moments left. Choose wisely."

Toki stopped and looked around as the walls of flame towered over him, forming a barrier between him and the outside. So this was how he trapped the poor souls who crossed the bridge. He heard that there were no survivors among those who crossed, which he didn't understand until now. The one responsible for all of this made himself known, an utterly intimidating looking Digimon that radiated a dark and horrible thirst for power. He looked on in a mixture of pity and rage. He hadn't flinched at all as the flames roared behind him.
"You misunderstand." He said bluntly as he approached "I'm not here to challenge you. I'm here to stop you, plain and simple. Challenge would assume that you had any sense of honor or dignity. From the options you give me...you clearly have neither."
Toki dusted off his jacket as the Digimon ranted on about wiping the slate clean and bringing about a perfect world "Sounds boring. Imperfections are what make us beautiful. Take that away and we stagnate. We don't challenge ourselves. We don't learn. We don't rely on others to support us when the going gets tough. To be honest, I've heard this song and dance before. People that hate the old world, and how they're going to rebuild it as something better based on their subjective beliefs...I don't know what sort of life you've lived to be like this, but I feel nothing but sorrow for you if this is the course you've taken. As for my decision?" He lifts his Digivice up as it glows brightly. "I take a third option."
Suddenly, without going through the usual Spirit User ritual, a beam of light erupts around Toki, the force of which is staggering. The pillar condensed into a large sphere of radiant light. In a flash, a multitude of slashes cut apart the light as it disperses like a blooming flower, revealing not Tsusagimon, but something entirely new.
The rabbit-like Digimon had a long ponytail, scarred face, and flowing robes that gave off the vibe of a wandering warrior. The blade was sheathed into its scabbard with a click as the data dispersed all around him. Fluttering remnants fell like a storm of blossoms. He opened his eyes, white irises glowing as the calm expression from his human self remains "Kenshimon."
Toki didn't move from his position. He stood there, not even in a combat stance. His hand was just idly resting on the hilt of his sword. There was an elegance to this form. It wasn't massive, armored, or even all that intricate. It wasn't even that much taller than Toki himself, but there was intense amounts of power in this Digimon. "You've taken so many lives, haven't you? I would negotiate...but I'm afraid I must free the data you have so cruelly devoured."

So, the fool had chosen to resist, merely babbling on on about how imperfections were good and how he was dumb and so on and so forth, before turning into a giant bunny just to face him. No matter. Either way, it was no skin off his nose. He was going to take the spirits, and he was going to usher in his glorious new world, one way or another. And the prospects of harvesting two ancient spirits from a poor, naive fool like Toki practically made him all the more willing to destroy him with his own bare hands.
With another snap of his fingers, a veil of shadows covered the Tyrvamon's body, as he disappeared into thin air. Not a second too soon, a simular veil appeared on the bridge, and unravelled off him, revealing his true form to his opponent. He stood opposite of the Kenshimon with a smirk, as his massive form towered over the walking vermin, double the size of his adversary, "Wrong choice, fool." He chuckled wryly, staring directly into his opponent's eyes. Unbeknown to Toki, he would find that the Tyrvamon was directly looking into his mind. But why though? What purpose would it serve?
And now this pitiable being was claiming he was going to 'save' their souls? What a laugh.
"Oh, I can assure you. Their lives have not gone to waste. For you see, when the time comes, their data will feed the Great One. Their sacrifices are essential to bringing him about and wiping this world down to a clean slate. And when this world is wiped clean, he shall create a brand new perfect world. One clean of imperfections. One where only the strong and mighty shall rule the land. And one with no more pain, or sorrow. So says I, Surtr." The Tyrvamon calmly explained, not moving a single muscle, unflinching from the weakling's pathetic boast.
In his palms, 2 orbs of shadow started to form in Surtr's hands, before they grew and lengthened in size. As the shadows broke away from them, they revealed themselves to be a pair of sharp trident-like weapons, the tips a crimson blood red. But he still did not budge. Rather, his eyes still fixated on the fool as he held out his 2 precious weapons in front of him.
"This is your last warning. Surrender yourself now, hand me your spirits, and I shall grant you a merciful death as I merely slit open your throat and put you out of your misery. But take one step further, and I shall not hesitate to tear you apart.
Limb.
B̷̛͠y.̕
L͕̣̙̭͈̼͛i̴̩̜͙͐͗ͦ͒ͯ̓m̡̝̼̦̦̹̻̠b͎͔͎̜͚̓ͩ̐ͥͅ.̧̄ͮ͐̄"
Surtr appears opposite Toki and is now using an unknown non-combat passive to read directly into his mind, for some reason.
Known Passives: Unknown Non-Combat Passive: This Digimon can directly look into your mind. But why is he doing this though? It can't be good, that's for sure.

Toki simply looked up at the Digimon in front of him, eyes calm as he remained in his relaxed stance. Surtr. So that was his name. He will remember it. As the Digimon looked into his mind...there was stillness. Calm. Only the faintest hint of grief over those fallen remained in his mind. He wasn't thinking about the future. He wasn't thinking about the glory or the fame this would bring him. In a chilling sense, he wasn't even thinking about the next few seconds.
Suddenly, Toki's body began to dissipate into lotus blossoms, colored a dark blue that transitioned to white near the ends. Massive flowers bloomed around Surtr and one by one they scattered in a flurry of slashes close to his body. Even if he avoided the initial slashes, if he wasn't careful he would discover the petals being scattered were razor sharp. With each dispersal, Toki would vanish again only to repeat the process in the multitude of blossoms that appeared.
As Toki slashed through the flowers and near Surtr, the only evidence of his attacks were azure streaks of light in a radius around his body. To the untrained eye, it was like blade trails were just manifesting around Toki's body.
After the storm of flowers ended, Toki remained at the last flower, sword still in its sheath. It was almost like he hadn't even drawn it at all. Did he not? Or was the speed truly that unreal? Still Toki stood, calm expression not shifting in the slightest. He was even smiling gently. A genuine one, not a mocking or smug one.
"I did not technically take a step." He said, closing his eyes in a playful smile. "A slit throat...that sounds very unpleasant. It reminds me of when MetalPhantomon almost tore me asunder...nostalgic, but I think I would rather struggle if it is all the same to you." He said as a petal danced between his fingers. It was almost as if Toki wasn't taking Surtr seriously at all. However, he was. He was treating him with the utmost seriousness. His experiences...his past...everything he had gone through...it has tempered his mind, giving him a peace and clarity even in the middle of intense battle.
------
Toki used Dance of Scattered Blossoms against Surtr, keeping his mind clear and still.
Dance of Scattered Blossoms: Lotus blossoms in full bloom around an area as Kenshimon teleports to each one. As he does, he unleashes wide sweeping attacks that send the petals flying, striking at all enemies within the blossoms’ range. [4 Turn Cooldown.]

Fallen allies. A well known Achilles' Heel that plagued many a hero. And that was all Surtr needed to put his plan into action. Even some of the greatest heroes known throughout history had many a fatal flaw that left them just short of true glory, and many a tragedy ended with once well-respected figures succumbing to their own shortcomings, be it anything like hubris, greed, or even failure to protect the ones they loved.
Toki was no exception to the rule.
He didn't even bother to lift a single finger as a series of lotus blossoms bloomed all around him. Instead, a smirk lined his face as his body was quickly covered in shadow once more, and the petals were flying around what was basically empty air, aiming for a target that was, quite frankly, not even there to begin with. If there was any consolation, however, they were easily slicing up the shadow that he left behind.
So at least it hit something.
But if Toki had any lingering hope that meant he had died off fairly easily, then that fool would be sorely mistaken. Comprised of nothing but pure darkness, and floating behind Toki up in the air, a pair of wings adorned Surtr's back, his 2 claws out, ready to tear into the flesh of his prey. Without saying a word, he quietly floated down to Toki's backside, his claws surging with darkness, and as soon as his feet hit the ground, he quickly lunged towards him, crossing his blades into an 'X' shape as they quickly grew in size, hopefully taking the fool off guard.
And if that wasn't bad enough, should the blades make contact with him, an aura of darkness would also surround Toki as well upon contact, slowly weakening the boy further, and leaving him vulnerable to more pain from him. And to Surtr, the spirit warrior's pain would be his absolute pleasure.
"I̛͏̶ ̀҉á̢m ͜g̕o҉̸i̵͟n̸̸͠g͢ ̸͢͠t̴̢͠o̧͢͝ ̕͘ę͟n̴j̵o̧͏y̵͝ ͝҉̢t̛h͢i̴҉͏s."
Thanks to his ability Shadowstep, Surtr is able to avoid Dance of Scattered Blossoms, and teleports away from the potential carnage. He quietly floats down to Toki's back and uses Abyss Ripper to claw into him in quick succession.
If Toki gets hit, he will incur a token from Fall Into Despair!, dropping his defence by 10%.
Shadowstep: A veil of darkness/fog/whatever element of his choice covers Surtr in his entirety in the blink of an eye, making him look like he’s vanished in his entirety. However, in reality, he then reappears within a 500 meter radius of where he used this ability to retaliate with absolute ease. He can use another attack and/or ability the same post he uses this ability, however, both cooldowns will be increased by one. This cannot be done with any OPT attacks he may or may not have. (3 post cooldown normally, 4 post cooldown because he used an attack the same post as this)
Abyss Ripper: Surtr’s blades are shrouded in complete darkness and lengthen in size, before he goes for a direct slash with them to strike the opponent, tearing into their flesh as painfully as possible with his 2 weapons. A simple, yet very effective attack. (1 post cooldown normally, 2 post cooldown thanks to Shadowstep)
Known Passives: Memory Intrusion (non-combat passive): Surtr can look into the memories of anyone he intends to face before combat starts. This is a very bad thing because he will be using these horrific memories to his advantage in some way or another. However, opponents can able to resist it if they catch onto what he’s doing, albeit it won’t be easy.
Wings of Darkness (non-combat passive): He can summon wings composed of pure darkness to fly whenever he wants, wherever he wants.
Fall Into Despair! (Passive): For each named attack that Surtr inflicts contact upon his opponent, they get a ‘token’ applied to them. This token reduces opponent’s defenses by 10%, up to a maximum of 5 tokens, or a 50% defense drop. This cannot be removed by any passive or attack the opponent may have. However, if he fails to land a successful hit against an enemy (not counting clones or dummies or the like), the enemy loses a token.
Cooldowns: Shadowstep: 0/4 Abyss Ripper: 0/2

He was not as foolish as Surtr would like to believe. Toki stood his ground as he knew the battle had begun in earnest. He widened his stance slightly and rested his hand on his weapon. He took a deep breath as strength built up in his body. As he exhaled, he kept his focus on everything around him, glancing side to side and feeling for any slight motion nearby. Sneak attacks...teleportation...he's dealt with such things before. At least they weren't the loud sort who would scream or call out when they were trying to do a supposed sneak attack.
What made this Digimon into such a vile creature? Who was this Great One they spoke of? How sad. The Great One...such a weak and awful thing to manipulate Surtr into believing might made right. A world where only the strong thrive is not a world free of conflict. It is a world of misery. Strife.
As Surtr descended upon him with murderous intent, Toki finally, visibly, drew his sword and clashed his weapon with theirs. The blade did not chip. It did not bend. It glowed with an ethereal blue light as Toki attempted to push the claws away. Should he be successful, the next thing Surtr would even be able to register is a series of flashing lights as the kanji for 'Moon' is carved into them. Toki spun his sword in his hand before elegantly sheathing the blade. A horrible burning emanated from the mark as it shattered.
Perhaps...the mark intended for Toki would be transferred over along with his counter attack. Either way, he pressed the attack. He took a draw stance, though Surtr would feel the presence of others. Multiple copies of Kenshimon suddenly appeared out of thin air, taking the same stance as the main one. There were eight of them in total. One by one they dashed forward, performing a different slash, but Surtr wouldn't feel anything from them. Then, as the final one dash past, he sheathed his sword once more. Once it was almost completely sheathed, Toki muttered "Eight Phase...Transient Step." Before clicking the blade in completely.
The clones all faded into petals, and depending on how many of them struck Surtr, he would feel a sharp slash across his body for up to eight different attacks at the same time. "I dearly hope you enjoy this." He said, not a hint of malice in his voice "Because I certainly will as well."
-----
Toki attempts to counter Abyss Ripper with Celestial Redirection, perhaps transferring the harmful effect of Fall Into Despair?
Afterwards, he activates his combat passive, Tsubame Gaeshi, to attack again with Eight Phase Transient Step.
Celestial Redirection: With a swift draw of his sword, he parries an oncoming melee attack, deflecting the attack and delivering counterslashes that embed a shining symbol. The symbol is the kanji for moon and it shatters for additional damage equal to 50% of the countered attack. (3 turn Cooldown)
Eight Phase Transient Step: Kenshimon takes a draw stance as seven copies of himself appear around the enemy. Each dash past the enemy before vanishing as the final one slashes past as well. When they sheath their sword, all the slashes happen at once. [3 Turn Cooldown]
Tsubame Gaeshi [Passive]: Kenshimon is capable of using two abilities in one turn. 3 turn cooldown.
Cooldowns: Dance of Scattered Blossoms 1/4, Celestial Redirection 0/3, Eight Phase Transient Step 0/3, Tsubame Gaeshi 0/3.

One weapon against two. Surtr pushed as hard as he could against the Kenshimon's sword, in a bit of push-and-pull, but try as he might, he couldn't hold out together, as he noticed the boy was putting in an extra bit of strength to push him back, and the blue light coming from the sword itself. On cue, he quickly jumped back, as Toki started to draw up the 'moon' kanji. But just as he thought he was in the clear...
The symbol shattered upon the Tyrvamon's body as he howled in pain, and clutched at his chest, quickly growling in turn as he gave a piercing glare to his adversary... or rather, 8 of them, all surrounding him. And without any warning, one of them slashed him across his chest with a mad dash without even giving him a chance to react. Much to his surprise however, he felt no pain from it. A low guttural chuckle emerged from his throat at his adversary's futile attempts to hit him.
Once more his wings of darkness emerged from his back as the second and third Kenshimon dashed by, and as the fourth and fifth followed suit, he readied himself to take flight. And by the time number 6 continued on this nonexistent assault, he took off high into the sky, his claws raised once more, number 7 and 8 missing by a hair. With a triumphant laugh, he cried out to the poor fool in a mocking voice, "Y̶̶ơ̶̛u̧ ͟m͏i͠s͝ş̧e̷d͞!"
Oh how wrong he was.
On cue with the click, a sudden pain rocketed all across his body as he let out another cry. This was just enough to send him plummeting down back onto the bridge below, belly first, with an extremely audible whumph! And as he looked up to his opponent... was he really mocking him? Him? That freak? Like he was nothing?
At this point, this fool was practically begging to die.
"A̶̢͢r̴̴͟͢͝e̛͞҉̧̛ ̶̀̕͘y̨͘͠͞͡o̴̡ù̧͡͠ ̷̴̧̨͜M̶̛Ó̕͢͞C̶̷̕҉Ḱ̨͡I͘N͝͡͝Ģ̴̵͜ ͜͡M̸̵͡E̛̕͡͞!̶̛͢?̶̛͘͘" Surtr cried as he pulled himself up from the bridge with a pained growl, and, with his claws shrouded in darkness once more, he lunged at Toki...
Then completely missed him by an inch, slamming them in front of where the boy stood. All of a sudden, a loud tremour rocked the entire battlefield, and not a moment too soon, as Surtr pulled out the claws and backed away, a large fissure started to open beneath Toki's feet, and a sudden rush of dark flames emerging from it followed suit, threatening to roast Toki alive, before sending him into the earth below (thanks to the conjurations of the battlefield, designed so he couldn't escape so easily by breaking a hole through and swimming off).
Had his trap worked, and Toki had fallen into the fissure below, it would just as quickly slam shut, searing him alive as Surtr fed off his energy. All the pain the fool suffered trapped inside the abyss inside would be his pleasure, as his energy would be slowly drained inside the pit.
Surtr dodges the initial slashes from Celestial Redirection - but not the mark, which he takes damage from (he can't get inflicted with his own tokens), then is hit with 6 of the 8 slashes from Eight Phase Transient Step, from underestimating them and taking flight at the last second. Falling to the ground in front of Toki, he plunges his claws into the ground to use Demon's Bloodline. If successful, Toki will be trapped for a post and finally get a token from Fall Into Despair!
Demon’s Bloodline: Surtr stabs his 2 blades into the ground. Almost immediately, an earthquake/fissure combo, spanning 500 meters from where he, cracks open in the ground, as a burst of dark energy erupts from the ground as the opponent falls in one of the cracks, threatening to swallow them alive. The ground them closes to crush them and hold them in for a post, as dark energies slowly drain health from the victim, which Surtr uses to heal himself the same amount of damage inflicted trapped inside. Once their time is up, another wave of energy sends them out of the pit, inflicting more damage as they are unceremoniously tossed out. While trapped, the opponent is not restricted from using any attacks. The user may also be able to fight back in order to escape from it. However, this is way easier said than done. (4 post cooldown)

However, if he fails to land a successful hit against an enemy (not counting clones or dummies or the like), the enemy loses a token.

Arrogant. Boastful. Bloodthirsty. Toki frowned slightly at Surtr's complete violence controlled personality. "...You could have been so beautiful. A powerful force of hope. Of goodness. It breaks my heart to see what could have been had this disgusting creature you call a great one not corrupted you to your core. I promise...you will be reborn free from its clutches...and I will kill this Great One personally for what it has done to you and others."
Toki prepared himself for another attack, though Surtr's sudden slashes towards the ground caught him off guard. As the cracks spread across the bridge, Toki found himself pinned between the wall of fire and the cracks in the ground. He winced as he felt himself being pulled into the blazing fissures. The burning was intense, the force crushing around him suffocating as he's pulled further into the abyss.
He shut his eyes, a slight moment of fear racing through his mind. As much as he pitied Surtr, that was no reason to let his guard down around him. "Everyone...I can't..." His fears felt more intense. His failings. His doubts. "Tsusagimon...K...everyone..." He gripped his sword tightly as he pictured their smiling faces. He felt their kindness and support, like they were lifting him up.
"This I promise you! Surtr! I will free you!" With every once of his strength, he drew his sword and swung skyward, a trail of light rapidly ascending. Not towards Surtr...but as the light dissipated, the sky itself split open. The tear encompassed the entirety of Surtr's makeshift arena as shards of crystal rained down all over the battlefield, striking everything in its radius with intense force and they just kept falling as long as the tear remained...and it wasn't closing.
A fiery determination was evident on Toki's defiant expression, his teeth tightly gritted as he endured the searing pain coursing through him. He reached up and gripped at the closest thing to solid ground he could, trying his hardest to pull himself up. His spirit has been shattered in the past...but he was not about to let it happen again. He won't let it happen again. He was his own fighter, his own person, his own beacon of hope. This fight would be his proving ground.
-----
Toki is pulled under by Demon's Bloodline. With every ounce of his strength, he manages to retaliate with Starfelling Slash, creating a tear in space that rained crystalline shards all over the arena.
Starfelling Slash: Kenshimon swings his blade upwards, tearing open a rift to a a celestial dimension from which crystalline shards rain down in a large area, damaging any enemy within the radius. The tear remains for two turns after activation. (2 turn duration, 4 turn cooldown.)
Debuffs: Fall Into Despair! - 1 Stack
Cooldowns: Dance of Scattered Blossoms 2/4, Celestial Redirection 1/3, Eight Phase Transient Step 1/3, Tsubame Gaeshi 1/3, Starfelling Slash 0/4.

An ungodly, raspy cackle could be heard as Surtr watched Toki get swallowed by the pit, and as the fissure slammed shut and the boy was slowly roasted alive by the flames, he could feel himself rejuvenating, the pain caused by the boy's 2 previous attacks slowly dying off. "Y̴̡o̢̧u̕͏ ͘̕f̴͝͡ool̡͢!͘͠ ̧͟Y̸o̢ư͟ c̡͘a̶̵҉n͟҉ń͜o̷t̛̛́ ̧͟͝k̵҉il̸̵l̡̀͞ ̷t̶̢h҉͢e̸̶ ̢̛Gr͠e̷͞a̡t͟ ͜͝O̵ń̨͞e̷!͏ ̀I͞n ̛f̷̕͡a͢c̸̸t̀,̴͟ ͝h̵o̕͝w̢҉̴ ͏̢c̷̴á̛n̴ ͟͝y̸̷̛o͏u ̵͝h̶͢op͏̧e̵̢͝ ̀t̢͟o ev͡͝en ̧d͜e̶̡f͢e͏͜a̵t̨҉ ̛͞me̶̵?" He cried once more, taunting the fool even further.
Even then, as the flames roasted Toki alive, Surtr could not afford to hesitate any further. 5 orbs of pure darkness started to emerge from his body, and started to levitate above him, and the fissure as well, as another rumble started to sound from inside. But to his surprise, however, a flash of light flew out of the pit and hit the sky, splitting it in two, and sending out a absolute hailstorm of crystals everywhere.
Whatever health had Surtr had managed to sap from Toki's time inside of the pit was quickly decimated as another ear piercing howl came from his throat, as he lifted his claws over his head to shield himself. And it worked - sort of; while the solid Black Digizoid protected him from the larger crystals, their thin length, and trident-like design wasn't exactly useful for protecting him from the smaller crystals that managed to sneak their way through. The orbs, however, didn't move an inch, merely staying in place without even being inflicted with a single dent as they rose high into the skies above.
Scowling once more as more crystals proceeded to skewer him, he turned to see... was that fool really trying to escape from the pit? Unbeknown to Toki, however, another rumble started to emerge from within the fissure. In the next few moments, another surge of dark energy, just like the one that occurred when Toki was first swallowed whole, started to build up underneath. Even under the dangerous crystal hailstorm battering his body, Surtr stormed towards him with his blades drawn out.
"Y̛͡o̸u͢ ͟w͟il͘͜͏l̢͞͏ ̡͠n͢ot ̸̕͢ę̛̕s͝c͞ape͠ ̵ḿ͏́e̢!̡ ̷Y̸ó̢u̷͠ ̶̢w͝il͡l ̢ne͞vé̵͞r̢͝ ̛͘͢d͢͠e͟͜f̢͡e͠a̴̛͝ţ̀͘ ̨͜me̶̕͞!͢҉" He cried once more. This time, he went for a more standard swing of one of his claws across whatever part of the rabbit was still visible to him. If successful, he'd see the boy tumbling back into the pit, only to be shot back out by the waves of energy shooting him up into the sky, and flinging him away, leaving him open to whatever Surtr had up his sleeves next.
Say, what were these orbs going to do, anyways? Only Surtr knew, and Toki wasn't going to like it.
Surtr is struck by the crystals from Toki's Starfelling Slash overhead, taking whatever health he managed to sap away from Demon's Bloodline away from him - and a bit more. Instead, while waiting for the second half of that attack to finish, he goes for a standard swipe across the chest to knock Toki back in, and if that works, the spirit user will be flung out effortlessly.
Meanwhile, Surtr is preparing something...
(4 post cooldown) (Second half is occurring in this post now)
Known Passives: Memory Intrusion (non-combat passive): Surtr can look into the memories of anyone he intends to face before combat starts.
"Everything has an end." Toki said in response to Surtr's boasting about his master. Toki's words were clearly angering Surtr, something Toki knew was a double-edged sword, but he was never one to keep his mouth shut in the face of evil. "Even if it cannot die...I will put it down again...and again...and again." He threatened.
As Surtr dived down to intercept Toki and the energies below boiled upwards, Toki took a deep breath and exhaled sharply as he braced himself and found the best foothold he could. He bent his knees and suddenly jumped along the walls back to the surface. For a split second, he vanished in an attempt to catch Surtr off guard. Then, he reappeared in front of him and slashed countless times in the space of a second in front of him before dashing backwards to avoid being spiked back down into the pit. Should Toki's attack connect, an awful pain would linger as data seeped through the open wounds from the assault.
Despite his pain, despite the difficulty of the battle, Toki once more stood there, blade in its sheath. The crystals continued to rain around them, though they phased harmlessly through Toki. He looked up at the orbs as they rose into the air and tightened his grip around his sword "We all have histories...I wish I understood yours." He said solemnly. What dark temptations brought Surtr to this point and what could be done to stop him? Toki didn't have these answers, but whatever came next, he would be ready. "I won't pretend to know your history or why you have become this way. It does not change that what you are doing is unforgivable. My sympathy remains."
------
Toki leaps out of the cracks in the ground and attacks using Tranquil Eclipse.
Tranquil Eclipse: Kenshimon dashes forward and seems to vanish for a split second before reappearing in front of an opponent before unleashing a rapid series of slashes at them. If this attack connects, it causes damage over time for 2 turns. [3 Turn Cooldown]
Cooldowns: Dance of Scattered Blossoms 3/4, Celestial Redirection 2/3, Eight Phase Transient Step 2/3, Tsubame Gaeshi 2/3, Starfelling Slash 0/4, Tranquil Eclipse 0/3.

What was this imbecile even rambling about, again? Didn't he know that he couldn't even hope to even lay a finger on the Great One, much less fell it constantly? The sooner that boy dropped dead on the spot, giving Surtr free reign to harvest the spirits for himself, the better. All his slash managed to cut through at this point was the dark flames, the jet Black Digizoid raking through the flames with ease, and Surtr growled once more from both that and the crystals, as Toki vanished from his sight. The orbs did not budge a bit from this.
With no time to spare, the next thing he saw was Toki appearing right in front of him. Immediately, he tried to jump to the side to avoid the assault in turn. But due to the Kenshimon's blinding fast speed, he wasn't exactly lucky in that regard. He could feel several cuts hitting him across his sides, growling in pain once more, and he stumbled back, clutching onto his bleeding torso. At around the same time, the fissure closed up once again, closing up perfectly like if it was never there.
Despite the assault so far, he still had plenty of fight left, no less due to all the loaded Digimon inside of him. Quickly he raised his claws up in the air to swat away as many of the crystals he can. He knew it would be fruitless to send them at the Kenshimon, considering how he didn't even flinch once from them. Rather, those he did manage to swat away were flung indiscriminately wherever they could, while still some he couldn't fling away cut into him.
He didn't listen to what the fool had to tell him. What he said didn't matter to him at all. Besides, the fool would be dead soon, and soon, this perfect new world would be born, thanks to his sacrifice. He gave another piercing glare over Toki's direction, and as soon as the fool finished speaking, Surtr tightened his grip onto his claws once more, swatting more crystals away.
"Si̶leńc͏e! Y͡o̕u͠ ͏s̵ho͢uld ̵be thańkful for ͘w̴h҉at ͞y̶our saćr͟i̴fic̕e̛ ̧w̵il͡l ent͡ai̕l, mo͘rt͜a͞l!̷" He boomed over Toki, "Wit͟h̛ ͠y̡o͝ur̵ de͟at̶h́,̵ ̶th̴e ͟p͜r͡o͏c͝e̷ss͝ wi͢l̕l͞ fínal͘ly͡ b҉e ͡co̶mp̵l̛ete án̸d the̵ si̶nfu͢l̷ ̧o̶ld ͠D̷ig̶i͝tal W͏o̧r͠ld wil̵l b̶é sw͏ep̶t àw͞ay̷ ͝b͠y͡ th͡e̕ ͏Grea̵t̡ O̕ne, ̸and our g̡lo̕r͜io͞us ne̸w ̵wórld͡ will͜ ri͠s͡e ̸up i̶n ̢i̧t'̵s̛ ̀pl͜ace!" Mentally paying no heed to the crystals assaulting him once more, he went for a fast, powerful charge towards where the Kenshimon stood.
"Ǹ͜o̷̸̧̡͞w̕͘͠͡͠ ̷͏͠͏s̷͢͟͜͞t͜á̴y̴̧̛͜͡ ̧͢͠r̢͜͢͝ì̵̵ģ̷͜͠h͢͝t̡͟͢͝ ̢̛͘t̨҉̛͡h̴̢́̀͘e̸̴̶r͢͜͜e̵̷̸̶ ͜a̷̴̴̛͜n̶͘ḑ͘҉ ҉̸́͢͝d̷҉i͘͜ȩ̷̢ ̢͢͠ĺ̸̢́i͠k̢͝ę̀ ̛͢ą̶̶̀ ҉̡͢g͝o̸̢ǫ̵̀͘d̸̡͞ ̷̀͜͞͞l̕i̵̢̡͡t̶̡͡t̴̀́ĺ̕͏ę͘͝͝͏ ̧̧͠͡b҉o̶͟͜y҉̸̧͟.̡͘͢͝"
Once he got close enough, he went for another clean slash against Toki's torso with his claws once more, before jumping away to avoid a potential retaliation like last time. However, above them, the orbs started to surge with heavy doses of dark energy, before firing directly at Toki as well, all 5 at once. No matter where the boy ended up from the Tyrvamon's bluff, the blasts of dark energy rained down upon him, threatening to strike him where he stood with a giant blast of energy, one each enough to swallow him whole itself.
So this kid wasn't going to go down without a fight, huh? No matter. He loved doing it the hard way.
Surtr tries to dodge Tranquil Eclipse but is slashed at the torso. After a brief rant at Toki while swatting most of the crystals he can away, he goes for a fake out slash that leads into his next attack, Call of Ragnarok. If Toki gets hit, not only will he get a token from Fall Into Despair!, he will also be inflicted with silence as well, and he will not be able to use a named attack for a post.
Call of Ragnarok: Surtr summons 5 magically infused orbs into the sky, which then all fire off powerful streams of dark energy to aim for and crush down onto the opponent as it swallows them whole, infusing them with despair and hopelessness into their tortured souls. Upon contact, this attack inflicts ‘silence’ onto them, sealing their ability to use any attack for a single post. (5 post cooldown)

Toki frowned slightly at Surtr's words "Anything that requires the pain and suffering of the innocent is never meant to last. It will not last. You and your master will one day be seen as monsters, not saviors. There is no changing this truth." However, at this point Toki was done trying to convince the enemy. It was no use now. This would only end when one of them was no longer able to fight, much to Toki's dismay.
Once more Surtr screamed about how the Digital World is sinful and needs to be cleansed to make way for the new world. Toki had heard enough of this. Surtr dived towards him for a slash, which Toki responded by jumping backwards, hand on his sword. However, as he looked up at the orbs charging with dark energies, he quickly considered his options. If Surtr had tricks up his sleeve, then it was time to reveal tricks of his own.
Toki quickly drew his sword and slashed behind him just before the dark energies made contact. The beams seared the bridge with their power and it looked like Toki was too late in escaping. However, as the beams dissipated, there was no one there. A faint flickering as if a tear in the Digital World was repairing itself. A couple of seconds later, Toki's blade tore through thin air and slashed at Surtr. Now that he was close, Toki raised his blade into the air as azure energy gathers around it. He pursued Surtr, slashing at him as sparkling trails of energy are left with each slash. After several strikes, Toki sheathed his blade as the trails of energy shot forth, pursuing Surtr further.
This, combined with the final crystals raining down as the tear from Starfelling Slash closed, may prove to be an overwhelming onslaught of attacks. "You enjoy telling people to give up. To accept a so called fate. I am sorry to say, but I will not simply lie down and die." The gloves were off. Toki was giving it his all now.

Toki uses the Card Ability Dimension Scissor to evade Call of Ragnarok and counter Surtr! He proceeds to use Blossoming Moonlight to press the attack.

Blossoming Moonlight: Drawing his sword, Kenshimon raises the blade to the sky as it glows with an otherworldly light. Lies! Why was this poor, insolent, fool spewing out nothing but mere lies to his face!? As far as Surtr was concerned, the entirety of the new world would be seeing them as saviours, and this mere fool in front of him? Why, he'd be nothing more than just a mere speed bump, a simple stepping stone in the path to the new world awaiting them. If only the fool had laid down his sword and surrendered...
Despite the crystals still battering his body, a small smirk lined the Tyrvamon's face as Toki evaded his weak slash. Of course he expected him to jump away from him. That was all part of his plan. As he watched the beams of dark energy race down onto where the Kenshimon stood, a loud explosion rocked the bridge, only overlapped by the maniac laughter of Surtr, "A̸҉̕H̸͜͟͠Á͘͝H͟͏͘҉͘A̡̢͟͜͜H̶Á̷H̡̡A͘͜͟H̀́͢͞A҉̢H̢̧̨͡A҉̨̧̕͜H̶̛͢͡͠Á͠͏H̸̡̡̨͠!̵͟͟͞͠ ̴̧͘͢Y̸͞o̸̢͞҉u̢͏ ̵̷̧̢f͘͜͡o̴̵͜͝o͞l̨!́̕ ̸̷͟G̸̡í̕v̸̡̨e̸̢͝҉ ̸̢͡҉i̷̡̧̛͝n̶̢̕ ̷̛҉t̴̷̨͟o̢̕͜͞ ̴̢̕͏͠y̸͢o̡̕͟͞u̶̡͜͏r̢̛̀ ̢́͢͠f͘͞͠͝ę̵̵a̧͞r҉s͘͝!̷̕ ̨̀F̶̸a̸̛͝l̶͝l͝҉̵̢ ̴̀į̕͏ń̕͝t̸̶̀͡͝o͏̷̶͢ ̸̧͏y̢͞҉ớ̵̷̧u͝r̀͟͡͝ ͏̴̀̕͡d̨͡͡͝e͘͜ś̛͠p̷̀͢͞a̵̵͢i̢̧̕͟r͡͠͏̢ ̴̸͘͝a͟͠n̢̡̛͜d͏̷ ̧m̕͜ì҉s̷͠è̷͝ŕ̷̵͢y̸͢͞͞!͝͝ ̷̢S̡̕҉̷̷é̵͏ȩ̨̕͠ ̧̛́͜h̶̸̀̕o͟͏̢͜w̵͜͟ ̵̢̡͠f̵̷̀͞ų͏̛͘͘t̷̛̕i̢͞ļ̀͡͡͠è ̛̕͢͟y̧͏ò̧u͡͞r̡̧̢̀҉ ̛́̕͞e̢͘͞f͜͠f̴̡̧̀o͢͢r̷̴̨̛̀t̵̢s̷̸͡͝ ̸̛͟t͟͞o͜͜͠͠͞ ̡͠d҉͠e͏̢s̨̛͢t̶̷͞ŗ̧͠o̸̕y̨͜͏̵̕ ̢͟͞u͟ś͜҉ ̸̢́̕͘a̢̛͢s̛̕͜ ̷́͠t̸͜ḩ̴̕͘͝e̢҉̡͟͜y̷̢͟ ̛͠t̴̵̢́͡r̴͘͏̸̡u̴̢̡̕l̵͟y̵̛ ̡͘͢a̴҉ŕ̶͡e̴!̀̀"
But as the smoke cleared away, leaving nothing but a charred mark onto the floor, and not a Kenshimon in sight, he once again let out a small audible growl as he raised his claws once more in a defensive position. This boy was just getting predictable as this point. He darted his eyes everywhere, anticipating where the boy would show up next.
And sure enough, as the boy re-emerged, he used his own 2 claws to help repel the sword away from him, preventing him from laying the first hit since his re arrival. Likewise, as an azure glow coated the Kenshimon's blade, he shielded himself once more, moving the claws in time of each slash, steel clashing against one another loudly, as he parried slash after slash thrown at him.
Just as he thought that this onslaught was all over, the trails of light that emerged from the slashes suddenly came careening towards him, slamming into him hard directly into his chest without warning, and tossing him to the ground. And to make matters worse, as Surtr got up once more, that fool still wouldn't stop with all the nonsense that he was spewing out at him. His eyes started to twitch angrily, before another maniacal laugh emerged from his mouth.
" AHA̕͝͞H̨Á͘͞H̵͝AH̵̴͞A͟H͞A̶͘͝H̛Á̵H͞AH̵ĄH͝A͘H͘A̢̧!͟͞ ̛̛Yo̷u̧͝ s͜a̡͞y ̴͏̷th̷̢͢a͟͝t ͢n̸ow̸̢, ̛͟b̸u̵̡̢t͢͝ ͏̵I̡͏̷'̶m҉̕ ̡a͏́͠f́͏r҉͟á̷͏i̵d̛͟͜ ͞t̛̕h̷at͏̴ ̸a͜͢f̶̷͢t̴̡͢eŗ ̷̕t́h̶̨i̷͘s҉,̵̀ ̀͠b͏ỳ ̀ţh̀e̵ ͝҉t̶i̵̧m̧̀̕e ̧̨I̧'͏͢m̡ ̨̀f̵̡́į̡n̛͡ì͢s̡͏̴h͡҉ę͢d̴̕ w̛͢i̶̕t́h͢͟ ̕y͠͠ơ͟͟u͡͏,̸̵̢ ̸͠y̡̨͜ò̶u͠͡҉ ̡wi̡l͞l ̷́b̛͜҉e̶̢͘ oń̡͡ ̵y̶ơ͘u͞r ̵k͘͘n̨͠e͏é̡s̛͡,̢̛ ̷̀b́͠͡ę̴̴ģ̨g̶in҉̧g̕ m̡͢e͘ ̢͜͝t̴o ҉̷͟k͘͢͠i҉̨l҉l̵̡҉ ҉y̕͟o͞͝u̴̶ ̨͞lí̴̷k̷e ̷͠͠ţ̛h͢e ̢p͢͏į͠t́í̶̴f͞u̸l͝͞ ̡w̵o̷r҉̧m y̵o̷̢͟u̷̢ a͜rȩ!̶" With just a snap of his fingers, a sudden rush of dark energy started to surge everywhere, eventually building up to a dome over Toki and Surtr. The bridge was nowhere to be seen anymore; everywhere Toki could look, all he could see was inky blackness... and several figures in the shape of his allies, both alive and dead, including K and Tsusagimon, practically towering over him menacingly.
Additionally, several dark spirits started to emerge from the ground, making a beeline for Toki's feet. Once they managed to grab onto them, he would find that he was being slowed down by the creatures, as they slowly tried to drag him into the darkness below. These spirits took the shape of Digimon of varying shapes and sizes - all those Surtr recognised as his previous victims.

Hopefully if all went to plan, the cocky fool would come to his senses, and end his own possible torment by begging Surtr to give him a quick merciful end.
"N̥̦ͧͦ̓̊̈́o̧͖̟͈̟͈͆ẅ͎́̏̈̚̚ ͎l̶̻̺͈̜̼̀̈́̚é̯̙̮ͦ͌͆ͬ̂ͥt̥͖̟̩̼̲͉ ̤̟͚͋̌̾͐ͮt̵̖̯̠̬͚̖̏̽ͭ̈́ͣḧ̸̗̠̦̼͌̓̌̐͋̾e̳̠͖͕ ̢̱̼̫̹͉̗ͯ̊̇ͩ̐n͍̩͔̤̜̗͚͋̇̌ͨi̦͚͖͎͢ḡ̦̣̿ͭ̔͞h̰̙̭̖̋͡t̤̣̙̣̞̯̳ͬ̋̒̍̎͂͢mͮͫ͏͚̻͕̟̮̬a͚̮͂̿̄͗̉̅r̠̃͌̉ͩ̇͐̊͘e͈͉̟̭͛̇̏͊̆ͭͅ ̺̯͔̍̊̄ͅb͇̜̰͓͔͔̱ͭ̾ͨ͊̌ͥͤȅ̙͉̆ͫͦ͗ͦg̺͚̈̾͑̉́̈́i͇̪̝͗͌͠n̘̘̙."
Surtr defends himself from the first half of Blossoming Moonlight with his blades, but is struck by the second half of the attack and is sent to the ground. With a maniacal laugh, he summons the Realm of Helheim, and with that, Toki's attack drops by 20%, his speed drops by 10%, and spirits are now trying to drag him into the underworld. (Also, shadow apparitions of Toki's known loved ones like Tsusagimon and K have showed up. He can write them as he can to show him getting tormented.)
Realm of Helheim: With just a wave of his hand, Surtr summons a large dome of darkness around himself, his opponent, and the entire battlefield, comprised of the opponent’s greatest nightmares and fears that constantly torment the opponent, along with a series of nasty effects that impact the opponent in very cruel ways. (Once per thread) The following effects apply to the opponent while trapped in the dome of darkness: Damage from opponent’s attacks are reduced by 20%. Opponents are slowed down by 10%, represented by evil spirits trying to pull down the victim to the underworld with them. Opponents are also constantly being tormented by their own nightmares (as written by the opponent’s mun themselves).

Toki grit his teeth as Surtr managed to avoid a majority of his attacks this time around, but he still managed to get him a few times. He stood across from him, sighing at the Digimon's descent into madness. He readied himself as he steadied his stance. Before he was able to attack again, however, Surtr snapped his fingers and the arena began to be coated in complete darkness from which there was no escape.
It took Toki's eyes a moment to adjust to the sudden change. Everything was pitch black and in complete silence. He kept his hand on his sword, at least until he saw flickering, corrupted visages of K and Tsusagimon. He remained silent and stood there as the two approached him. He did nothing as the other spirits clambered to him and latched on, threatening to pull him into the abyss.
K spoke first in an angry, distorted voice. "You were there! You saw me fight Daemon through the comfort of Luminas, on high like some kind of god! Did it amuse you? You could have helped me! Left everyone else to deal with the envoys...but you just saw me get beaten into the mud with nothing more than a scolding wave of your finger to those responsible! You coward! You're weak! Too soft!"
Tsusagimon approached him and glared down at him "It should have been you who died that day. The fleeting life of a human like yourself versus potential hundreds more for me? The choice should have been clear. I was a fool to let you live. To throw away my life for the sake of yours. How I saw anything in you is beyond comprehension, foolish child. You even lost control of my power on more than one occasion. How could anyone trust you with this power?"
Biting, scathing words. Toki closed his eyes and listened to them. Tears were in his eyes, but Toki was...beaming. Smiling happily at the visions of his old friends. "How great it is to see the two of you once more. Do not worry, friends. Your legacies live on. Yours in mine, Tsusagimon...and K, you live on in Silence. You may rest now. And the rest for you..." Toki held out a hand as a plate full of a shining liquid appeared in his hand.
However, instead of drink it himself, he took on their burdens and pains as he poured the tea over the spirits. Libations for the dead. "May you rest well, knowing that you will be free from torment soon." He said, gazing down at them with a warm expression.
The saucer disappeared in a flurry of lotus blossoms once it was empty. He looked at Surtr, expression still kind, but his eyes burned with a tranquil fury. "For the suffering of those you have killed...and your attempt at bastardizing the memory of my dearest friends..." He said, hand tightening around the hilt of his sword "You will die."
----
Toki uses Moonblossom Tea and pours it out for the spirits within Surtr.
