A place she had never been.
The number of those was far greater than that of where she had. She knew that the digital world was vast, her dreams told her that much. The echoes of her past always pounding her head; the gaze of someone else walking in her flesh. Talking to people through muddled messes of words and masses unknown. She vaguely knew of many a place. But even those places weren’t anywhere like this.
The lush grass that stretched on and on, the city that could barely be seen in the distance and the longing of the freedom that this place gave to those within. She barely understood teh desire to live in such a community. The massive spires of terminus city were like an entirely foreign entity. A tireless, seamless expanse that only reached up and up.
So it was here that the shutmon found herself laying on her back, watching the clouds pass her by. Watching birds fly through the sky without a care in the world. Would she join them someday down the line if she ever met a similar fate to that of who came before her? Or was she going to always remain like this? A holder of the keys.
Keys she didn’t really know other than a single one. That of herself and silence.
They were one and the same, the only digi symbols on her chest that she could really truly understand. The others were… well things she vaguely knew of and their concept. Another sigh. Another blink and she found herself dozing as time slowly passed. The hours trudged by and she found further still that today was just simply that.
Another day that she lay staring up into the sky, wondering about her place in all things. If there was any place for her to be had other than that of the path already lain out before her. It was a strange musing, the sort that reminded her of past thoughts. Ones of her own back when she was merely a concept rather than a mon.
I inherited you… but your path isn’t mine… but what path is the one I should take?
The thoughts continued. As did the clouds. As did the sun. As did the moon when it slowly started to peek out from behind the trees in the distance. She grew restless.
She grew thoughtful still, spinning a small knife through her fingers. She could hear the soft breathing of another close to her. Her eyes traveling to the recently hatched Skotamon. It was fast asleep in her hood, using it like a blanket. It wasn’t very active in comparison to the other babies she had dealt with in her short time on this world. But it was hers to take care of, hers to try to understand. She felt a soft smile tug on her lips and she’d turn her head back up to the stars as they slowly winked into existence.
”She was always good with advice I was told. But here I am wondering what sort of stuff she’d say to me. Can’t really ask her can I huh?”
The shutmon would gently rub the top of the Skotamon’s head, earning a huff from the in training. She’d roll her eyes a bit and just shake her head. Settling back down herself before continuing her musings...
