Alone they were not indeed. And let's be real, would you really wish you were alone in such a chaotic confluence of time, fire and ice? Let's assume no. But then, another question opens itself up as a result. What could possibly be lurking here? Well, it was a volcano. One could certainly expect a volcanic digimon of sorts, but...Some stomping indicated that whatever they were stuck in this cave with was drawing nearer and nearer, and probably from the largest hole in the walls there was. And it was one chunky son of a bitch. A dim, orange glow started to illuminate the cave. One who's owner was soon revealed, as a large (we're talking like, the size of a bus), round-looking, frostbitten creature that bore a faint resemblance to a Volcamon dragged itself into the room, clutching at the walls for support. It looked agitated, in all honesty. "COLD....COLD..." It rasped, the orange glow upon it's back starting to intensify as it set it's eyes upon Ophi and Bero... This. Was an AncientVolcamon. Ordinarily, you don't just find entities that resembled the legendary Ten Warriors out of nowhere, but this was a special case. Why was it here? Why did it look more pissed off than Bero mixed with Agent Karen? And why was there ICE coating almost half of it's body?

Bero’s flames lit up and his eyes scanned the area, before loud shaking would make the location of their enemy very obviously known. A large digimon, a living volcano, covered in frost… inside… of a volcano. You know, Bero always figured out he’d be fighting the volcano when trying to enter it, traversing the perilous environment. But now he was just fighting A volcano while inside A volcano. Hurray, digital world. “Yeah I’d say this counts as not alone.” He said, a calm, battle ready sensation enveloped him. His flames flickered as he blended into shadows somewhat, his body becoming subtle and the edges becoming blurred and unsure. “Let’s pacify the wildlife. Can’t be any harder than last time, right?”It wouldn’t be the first time Bero and Ophelia worked together to fight something that was larger, and probably stronger, than they were. Bero made no effort to plan with Ophelia, they’d come up with something on the fly. For now he stealthily fastwalked away from Ophelia’s position, avoiding the environment as he moved, ready to flank the enemy with his ‘ally’ by his side. Well, good thing he didn’t come alone… Ugh, even thinking that had given him instant regret.
Bero’s Dark Body takes effect, shrouding his body and reducing the damage he'll take during the first round. Bero walks away from Ophelia so they can flank the enemy.
Stacks used = 0 Stacks gained normally = 5 [Combat start] Additional stacks gained from passives = 0 New total Stacks of “Basics Mastery” = 5 Passives: Superior Technique[RAM upgrade GIGA] Combat Passive - Bero’s incredible technique lets him improvise his attacks and abilities, using his natural weapons and traits of his body’s code to great effectiveness. Bero starts each combat with 5 stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’ and every round he is in combat he gains 2 more stacks. He can hold a maximum of 15 stacks. Using 5 stacks allows him to empower one basic attack to deal damage equal to a named attack with a 1-turn cooldown. This attack counts as Bero’s named attack (or one of his named attacks, incase he’s 1 vs twins) for the post it is used. Other passives may give him more stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’ or methods to use it.
Dark Body (RAM upgrade) Combat Passive - Bero’s practice in evading notice has taken itself to the next level since he has been powered down. This stealth takes effect at the very start of combat, and whenever he goes down to exactly 0 stacks of 'Basics Mastery'. When this stealth takes effect, he partially dodges attacks aimed at him done after the turn it takes effect. This reduces his damage taken as if blocked by a 1-turn cooldown named block. (This makes it a pre-emptive passive block). This effect has a 1-post cooldown after it triggers. Attacks which ignore evasion, like homing attacks or pin-point snipe attacks can (and usually will) ignore this benefit.
Holy limiter Combat Passive - Due to his “Helmet of Virtues”, if Bero would be subject to an attack or an effect due to any of his attributes, families or types, the most convenient is always selected. If Bero’s attacks would be subjected to a defensive effect due to any of his attributes, families or types, the most convenient is always selected. Attribute: Virus, Vaccine. Family: Nightmare Soldier, Virus Buster. Type: Evil Dragon, Angel.
However, Bero cannot use any fire control or fire abilities.
Anger Management Combat Passive - Bero’s own powerlessness at the hands of his holy limiter infuriates him. He can channel his anger into empowering his Superior Technique passive. Every turn he is in combat he gains 2 extra stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’. Outside of the usual way to expend it, he may also use 4 stacks to empower one basic attack to deal damage equal to a named attack with a 0-turn cooldown. He may use multiple of these in a turn, but may not combine them with other methods of attacking with Superior Technique. When fighting twins or otherwise allowed to make an extra named ability, he gains 2 extra stacks of “Basics Mastery” every turn. If he were to use a named active ability via any means (given by cards or plot conditions) he loses all stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’ and does not gain any stacks this post.
Enough Chains!! Combat Passive - Bero’s already infuriated enough his powers are limited! Chaining him down, restricting him, limiting his actions or pushing him away from combat by some obvious or recognizable means (forcefields, chains, pushing away with wind, etc.) has reduced effectiveness on him, allowing him to resist 50% of the effects of such abilities. Every time he is targeted by an attempted restriction, he gains 1 stack of ‘Basics Mastery’.
Pyrobiology Combat Passive - Bero’s Fiery body works somewhat differently than other bodies. Despite having an actual body of sorts underneath his flames, His body acts as one mass of flames. Because of this, it is not possible to strike any ‘weakspots’ that Bero has. Because of this, Bero is immune to wound-based status effects, like damaging a leg or wounding an arm to hold him back. Any damage dealt to him is dealt to him as a whole instead of any parts. Fire attacks will damage him as normal due to the different nature of his fire body, and hitting him with fire actually angers him, giving him 1 stack of ‘Basics Mastery’.
Black Phoenix Resurgence Combat Passive - When critically hurt but not outright defeated, Bero gains a heal over time that heals him for 15% of his health every turn for 3 turns. This effect cannot trigger until after this healing over time has ended. When it has ended, the power of this passive is reduced by a stage and it can trigger again. Each reduced stage of effectiveness decreases the power of the heal by half it’s previous stage. The reduced effect remains for the entirety of the thread. Every time the Heal over time is started from taking damage, Bero gains 1 stack of ‘Basics Mastery’. If he is defeated while the heal is active, the heal is canceled instantly.
Powerless Anger Combat Passive - When shown up in power, by either seeing stronger moves he cannot perform or people using moves via means like cards, Bero’s anger manifests in more power. Whenever anyone, Allies or Enemies, use a move with 2 posts or more cooldown, Bero gains 1 stack of Basics Mastery. Whenever anyone uses a move via a Card or Artifact, Bero gains 1 stack of basics Mastery. Active moves: Nope.

The sound of a large being approaching would prompt Ophelia to ready herself long before Bero did; drawing her Azure Fang once more, and shaping it into a sizeable bastard sword. As the AncientVolcamon came into the scene though, Ophelia - at first - wondered if there was any chance of talking the great volcanic digimon down, and potentially leading it out of here to someplace warmer. It was clear that it wasn't exactly enjoying the strange cold of this place, and Ophelia could certainly sympathize with the feeling of being out of your natural environment. However, then there was the look that the AncientVolcamon would give them, as well as the agitated and intense body language about them - implying that this volcanic golem was quite ready to fight them right on sight..! "Guessing I'm holding its attention, yeah?" Ophelia mused to Bero in response with a wry smile; watching as he seemed to almost partially-meld into the shadows. "Time to show you just what all I can do in this form, then..!" If they were going to have a fight with this AncientVolcamon, then Ophelia was more than eager to flaunt her stuff just a little; as confident and cocky as ever. As Bero made to flank the golem, Ophelia would put herself before it front and center - weapon readied. The vents on her armor would begin to blast out clouds of frosty air that would begin to settle over her and freeze - her Frost Veil being sure to protect her from any of the strange oddities of the cavern system mid-fight, as well as take the brunt of the AncientVolcamon's attacks..! Once prepared, she'd charge in with a loud roar-like battlecry, striking at AncientVolcamon in a basic horizontal slash with her Azure Fang..!
- Ophelia starts the fight with Frost Veil, increasing her defense - Following up, she strikes at AncientVolcamon with a basic attack..! - Tempo raises to 1 stack. Move Used:[ABILITY; RAM] Frost Veil: A layer of frost freezes over Ophelia's fur/armor, hardening it and protecting her from outside effects. For 2 turns, she gets a 50% defense increase, and is protected from both naturally-occurring environmental/field effects, and environmental/field effects produced thru moves. [3 Turn Cooldown] Passives:[PASSIVE] Unerring Tenacity: Ophelia's stubborn and tenacious nature extends to even a physical level; once she gets moving, she is almost impossible to stop..! She is able to break free of grapples, as well as effects that rely on restraining her on a physical level; such as being chained, tied down, or tangled up. Additionally, she is able to overcome environmental effects that might slow her down - such as difficult to traverse terrain, tremors, or strong winds.
[PASSIVE; RAM] Tempo: Ophelia is a scrapper who prefers getting up close and personal - and the more she fights, the easier it gets for her as she gets into the rhythm of it. For each turn that she makes a direct melee attack, she gains 1 stack of Tempo at the end of that turn - and for each turn that she doesn't make a melee attack, she loses 1 stack of Tempo at the end. She gets a 6% attack and accuracy increase for each stack she gets, capping at 30% attack and accuracy at 5 stacks.
[PASSIVE; RAM GIGA] Lionheart: Ophelia is stubborn, willful, and passionate - especially in the heat of battle. Those who try to influence her mind or emotions find it difficult to overcome this side of her - and more often than not, she powers thru from sheer will, and the sheer anger at someone trying to control her like such. As a result, she is highly resistant - if not outright immune - to effects that influence her mind, emotions, or disposition, such as mind control, taunts, rage, fear, or pacification- unless she allows another digimon to influence her in this way. Effects:Frost Veil - 0/2 - 50% increase to defense, protection from environmental effects Tempo - 1/5 Stacks - 6% increase to Attack and Accuracy next turn Cooldowns:Frost Veil - Waiting

The AncientVolcamon was evidently weaker than it should ever be, but that might be what's gotten it so angry, really. Pacification was likely going to need to be done by force. Much to the duo's luck, however, anger makes you dumb as literal rocks. So, the attempt made by Ophelia to hold this beast's attention?
An absolute success. The horizontal slash sliced cleanly into the few stone parts remaining on the AncientVolcamon's body, but...It also put Ophelia close to the angry golem. Ordinarily, you'd expect something like this to make use of the volcano on it's back, but it just wouldn't. No, it raised a lumbering, frost-covered fist, as it became...well, it didn't become engulfed in flames, but there was a strange phenomena occuring.
Fire was building beneath the ice of AncientVolcamon's fist, as he swung it for Ophelia. A simple punch to knock her back. If it hit, then the ice would actually not shatter. It just cracked. Regardless, the attention had been kept.
Bero was free to try whatever he wished. Passives? Haha, what are those?
Very Hard Digimon: You feel like this should probably be a For Glory somehow.
Hey Ya: What's cooler than being cool, though? Ice cold. And this Digimon is so goddamn cold that he can't even function at his intended level. He's as weak as an ultimate/perfect, and takes and deals damage like one. AncientVolcamon is hit by the basic attack! He's still pretty mad. So mad that he's gonna try punching Ophelia. It's really basic.

Unfortunately I can't approve the armor hunt, given that Bero has left and the hunt is incomplete, but I'll still give out bits.
Ophelia gets 500 bits for 9 posts! Bero gets 500 bits for 8 posts! Yui gets 500 bits for 2 posts!
