"Hmm..." Yuma quietly hummed as she scanned the paper with a hawk-like gaze over the series of papers, twiddling a pencil in her fingers.
Literature club wasn't for everyone, but the older teen found solace within the art of words... There was something comforting about being able to enjoy a hobby like this with others, especially as it was one of the only social activities she was willing to join in on.
Yuma was in the middle of the club's weekly critique sessions, taking excerpts and judging them amongst their peers. She took pride in being the current head of the club's activities alongside being one of the more experienced writers of the group of about six students, she always eagerly offering a hand in helping improve aspiring authors' techniques.
"I like the direction you're going with this, but I think you can do more to characterize your protagonist's relationship with their friends earlier on. You know, rather than just introduce them at the start of conflict and act as if the reader already knows them." she politely spoke as she handed back the paper to the bespectacled boy it belonged to. She was trying to not be too harsh, but she had to silently grit her teeth and avoid dropping a load of grammatical errors, plotholes, and in general poor writing the boy had.
Look, you sometimes had to take things bite by bite. Better not to just eat the whole whale all once.
The bell soon rang, which meant one thing... Afterschool activities were over and it was time to head out. Yuma quickly regathered her own personal materials before shoving it all into a binder, smiling at her fellow club members. "Great work everyone! Remember, next week's prompt is "The New Year"! I would like for each of us to write a haiku about it as club homework! See you next week!" she sweetly smiled, everyone soon making their way out into the classroom halls.
Alone in the room, Yuma sighed a sigh of relief as she soon entered the hallways, backpack in tow. Now uhh... which direction did they need to go again? Their club classroom got moved recently, and well... she had to admit, she was never too good with directions. Damn, she should have asked one of her clubmate ahead of time where they were going.
Oh well... might as well take a casual stroll around the campus until she can find somewhere familiar.
((OOC: Hello! This thread is meant to perhaps Yuma's first introduction to Digimon and also meet hers!))

So, did you know there was a whittling club at the Shibuya campus? Because the truth was, there actually wasn't, it was legitimately just a one-woman maneuver headed by Shizu whenever her parents were running late on picking her and Akemi up. While her sister could definitely walk home, she usually didn't, mostly just to wait for their mom.
...That, of course, didn't mean that they had to spend -all- their time together at the campus, though. Shizu had been traversing the halls on her own in search of a quiet place to read a book at, and lo and behold...
She didn't nearly bump into someone that was about a head taller than her, no, but she did notice someone else wandering around. And they looked lost. There wasn't necessarily any harm in helping them, was there?
"Hey, uh, miss, are you looking for something?" She was unaware that this was the current head of the literature club. Shizu wasn't known for keeping up with extracurricular stuff outside of the things that held her interest, of which...there were relatively few.
One also had to keep in mind she said this in a bustle of people heading out, too.

Gee, even though she refused to show it… Yuma had to admit to herself she really was terrible with her sense of direction. It took her a while to get used to where things were, and she didn't have this part of the school memorized. She had to actually ask for directions from a teacher just to make sure she knew where to setup club today! Guess other students don't have this problem… embarassingly enough.
It didn't take long it seems for someone to notice her. Did she really stick out that much like a sore thumb, she wondered? This newcomer was another girl… a bit younger it seemed at a glance. That or just short. First year for the Junior High grades perhaps? Second? She wasn't one to assume without asking of course.
"Oh no, no. Nothing in particular." she politely lied, opting to try and maintain her more professional appearance. She bowed politely before offering a hand to the helpful girl, figuring it would least be only polite to introduce herself. "Yuma Natsume. I am the club president for the school's writing club… though we also do literature." she greeted the girl, honestly unsure how to gauge them.
It was always the trickiest part towards conversations… figuring out interesting conversational topics without coming across as a bore.
"What grade are you currently in? I apologize if I am asking too many questions. Our meeting room was moved recently to this wing." she spoke, pulling out her phone and texting her mother that she may be a bit late today… Though, ugh! The phone signal is bugging out right now! Lousy Japanese phone and internet services… its way too frequent something decides to just hit the shitter.
Outside the building, clouds start to darken as rain begins to slowly fall. It wasn't actually predicted in the weather forecast today, especially not here… It was actually almost clear dusking skies outside beforehand. An ominous sign.
To one with a Digivice though, a signal that something was going to bio-emerge would be soon caught… specifically up towards the rooftops. The question was, what it was.

It had been... an interesting week to say the least.
Yahiko had moved (back) to Shibuya just a few days ago. The moving had been as hectic as it had been emotionally challenging. For some reason, Shibuya always filled Yahiko with some strange, unexplainable feeling. A sense of being... far, separated, from something or someone he was meant to be close to.
That feeling had only increased over the past few days since coming back here. Heck, it was eating him whole.
So, in order to take his mind off, Yahiko had done something Yahiko often did.
Join the Literature Club at his new school the very first day he began classes.
The sapphire-eyed, raven-haired boy watched as the head of the literature club exited the classroom. Unlike the bespeckled boy next to him, his writing was impeccable. Well, not entirely of course, he was no Shakespeare. Still, at least he had decent grammar and tense.
In multiple languages.
Yahiko grabbed his backpack and pulled it over his right shoulder, before exiting the classroom. He didn't really know anyone at the school yet, and he didn't have anyone waiting for him, so, his was a silent, unnoticed trek through the hallways.
His mind once again went back to that day in the alley, years ago. Black wings...
Lost in thought, he tripped over soda can littered on the floor below, "W-Whoa--!" unintentionally bumping straight into Yuma from behind as she was talking to Amaya.
"I-I'm sorry!"

Oh, geez, this girl was the president of a club? "...Amaya Shizuka, nice to meet you!" She stated with a quick bow. "I-I didn't know we had a club for that, honest, but it's nice to know that now." It made perfect sense, too. "Uh...9th." A serious underclassman to Yuma, all things considered.
"It's okay, you're not being...overbearing, I think that's the phrase? Either way, it's totally fine. What about yourself? A-Actually, can you tell me a little more about the club? I've been meaning to try finding a club to join but I haven't been having the best luck finding one..." A small buzzing would be heard, and she quickly took out her onyx-colored D-Tector. Why...was it suddenly making a noise? Why was the screen suddenly working?
"Wha...?" This was quickly offset by a beanpole of a boy bumping into poor Yuma from behind! "Oh, are you alright?" She said, quickly pocketing the black lump of not-plastic. You'd think people would actually, you know...Look out for people, right?

It was slightly disappointing to hear the words "I didn't know we had a club for that..." if only since the club was one of the only things she really put a lot of effort into. Well, she couldn't expect everyone to be up-to-date with what was going on at school. "Th-that's okay. I remember my nineth year being really hectic, so I can't blame you. You get used to it." she softly replied, trying to keep her composure. She after all had to set an example for her peers!
Unfortunately that composure would be ruined (perhaps...) as the girl felt someone bump into her from behind, causing her to jump in shock and whip her head around. Oh thank god, was just another student. "I-I'm sorry! I didn't watch where I was going, Excuse me for being in your way!" While she did know it wasn't actually her fault really, she didn't really have the guts to say otherwise. It was just... easier on her mind to not go really pointing fingers at anyone. That always felt so... rude!
Actually, wait... Its that new student to the literature club! Huh... Weren't they going different ways? Maybe she was just misremembering things? She was a bit of a goof with her memory sometimes, so that made sense to her. Still, she quickly calmed down in relief. "Oh! Its you! You're Yahiko! I'm sorry if today's session was a bit confusing since you're new here, but I promise it shouldn't be too hard to adjust to it!" she attempted to assure the lone young man, smiling warmly.
A soft rumble could be heard, catching Yuma's attention. Sure enough, the windows outside were showing the change in weather with rain starting to pour down. Wait... wasn't it supposed to be dry as heck today? Her memory was maybe unreliable at times, but she was pretty positive it was just gonna be a somewhat dry day... The girl took a moment to stare at this curious sight... only briefly glancing at the device Amaya seemed to pull out...
Was that some kinda crappy-looking phone? What an obnoxious ringtone...
