-- CHAPTER 5 // HELP WANTED Aleja, or Alétheia as she had named herself to the others, tried to guide them to the best of her abilities. She had listened to Yomi telling a bunch of stories about herself, and for some particular reason she didn't understand, Aleja had had the feeling (multiple times) that Yomi would look in her direction more times than the others, as if she felt much safer talking to her than to the other two. It must've been her imagination, she thought; in any case, Aleja stood silent and didn't say but the few, necessary words to guide the others. Having a person stand closer to her than others was a situation she had very rarely witnessed in her life, and it weirded her out in a way she couldn't exactly put into words. It was all so new to her. When they arrived to the place, it looked like an actual digsite. Houses to live in, bonfires to warm up in front of, cabins to retrieve the necessary gear from. It all looked quite right, until someone in the group pointed out that the people were missing. Aleja didn't even notice that there was absolutely nobody; she figured everyone was just off to do their job. She emitted a high pitched moan of unease when the others concluded that whatever happened, it must have driven the researchers off pretty recently. She quickly checked her phone, finding a text message from only a few seconds prior. It read: "This is the place. Get your defenses up."Aleja gulped, and clutched the phone closer to her chest. "This... this must be the right spot..." she said, with voice cracking at least twice in the middle of the sentence. Was it really like her to be so afraid of a deserted place? Or rather, was it like "Alétheia"? Definitely not, she thought. She wished she would have learned to control her Digivolution a little better before venturing out into the unkown. She shook her head, trying to make sense of the situation. Iktomi told her to be ready, but what could that have meant? She swallowed her fears, and started looking around the camp for some sign of life: looking inside the houses only from outside the doors and windows, lifting up pieces of rubble or moving things around to see if any small Digimon still hung around. -- NAME // Alejandra Leblanc -- DIGIVOLUTION STAGE // Human -- TECHS USED // None.

"Whaaa?"Yomi blinked and watched, as everyone immediately went commando-mode on the camp. They really were more used to this world, weren't they? To assume something was going to attack them the moment something went 'suspicious'. The renamon did have a bad feeling about this too, but could not rationally explain it, or put a finger on it. "Maybe they went somewhere for some reason and going to be back?" - Yomi made a sheepish protest, but everyone was already searching the camp with no heed to what they could possibly run into when passing through the tents and other people's things. There didn't seem to be any 'evacuation' so to speak. Most tents still had personal affects that would have been taken if the folks decided to abandon the digsite. You are not really that naive, are you? - the voice inside her head asked, chidingly. "Why does everything have to be ominous with you, huh?" - the fox asked out loud. Because... this place is an ancient battleground.
Yomi's eyes widened. She was to an ancient battleground before. One where she found the sword that contained the spirit now housed inside of her. Suddenly, this place too started to look ominous enough. The fox digimon drew her blade, though held it in front of herself, as though expecting something to jump at her. She looked over a few more tents, getting closer to the far end of the digsite, before suddenly it came to her. "Um, guys?" - she called, before pointing at the THING: It was a dark, ancient doorway. The darkness inside seemed so thick one could almost touch it. And it resembled so many ancient tomb movies at the same time one could almost assume it was a progenitor for them all. Yomi instinctively recoiled behind the backs of Pal, Kenny, and Scadi. They were the strong experienced adventurers, weren't they? "Maybe that's where they went? We should just leave... We were hired to dig for stuff and not enter creepy tombs of horror, right? Right?"
Yomi heard a sigh inside her head. The spirit did not approve of cowardice. But the tracks in the sand indicated that someone went in there. Or a lot of someones.

The fact that everyone reacted so quickly to her suggestions made palicae feel a touch better about this. She’d grimace a bit and hold a hand out to either of her sides as she scanned the locale. At a moments notice she could probably blast anything that tried to give them trouble but…
With most of the tents being empty her only real response to this was annoyance. Gritting her teeth as she stepped out of one and just glancing around. Honestly this bothered her. But she couldn’t quite put her finger on to what exactly did.
”Tch… if that was the case you think they’d leave a note…”
The mangamon-x shifted and squinted at where Yomi gestured at a dark and ancient doorway. It seemed the sort that could lead to another dimension of all things! The magnamon-x strode forward and shifted this way or that. With Yomi backing up they were left at the forefront of things.
”Not hired to go into a dark and foreboding entryway indeed. But… We really should go see if they are okay. Or if this thing is a potential problem. I don’t like how dark it is.”
The magnamon-x frowned and slowly padded forward, she’d reach out her hand to touch the doorway. Eyeing it up and down; she didn’t recognize the design and the fact that it looked so forboding in such a place just… Just seemed odd! When did the group dig this up? Had it always been here? Or was this something that just… sprouted out of no where?
”...I mean if it turns out they’re all in there and just resting or mining… we can at least continue the work we were hired for but if otherwise we should at least find out what happened.”

"You found anything yet, Kenny?" Skadi called out as she turned her head to the tents. She was quickly met with one of the tent flaps opening and the young man shaking his head in disappointment.
"Nothing yet. Either they forgot to come back and pack up their stuff before they left, or an attacker burned all the evidence." He suggested. Honestly, there were a lot of possible explanations on what happened to the campsite, and so far, none of them were sounding all too good. He would've kept searching and she would've still kept guard, hadn't they heard Yori call out to them.
Immediately, Kenny perked up, turning to where Yori was pointing, and so did Skadi, only for the tamer to notice that the BlackRenamon was hiding behind him. He lightly pet her on the head in a bid to tame her nerves, while turning to Pal, "I see what you mean there. At the very least, we could provide you guys with some help there, at least to light up the place. Skadi, you wanna show them what you learned in the past couple of days?" The Canandenmon turned her head over to Kenny, giving a nod with a wide grin on her face.
"Then it's settled!" He exclaimed, raising his D-Nexus as it glowed once more, along with Skadi, as she armour evolved to her SilverGrademon form. Her regal blue cape fluttered lightly in the wind as she flicked her hand. In a matter of moments, a small mote of light would emerge in her hand, warm to the touch, but ultimately harmless. Yomi, had she accepted, would be the first to receive it, as she leaned down and handed the mote to Yomi. She'd then do the same for Kenny, Pal, and, last but certainly not least, Aleja.
"Think of these as nothing more than fancy torches, but without having to hope and pray the batteries aren't dead." She joked as she flitted the last mote into existence into her own palm, "They're on the house. Anyways, if anything goes wrong, I'll be the first to jump in and defend you all. You don't have to worry about a thing." The SilverGrademon proudly put a hand to her chest to the rest of the group.
Smiling at his partner's endearing confidence, Kenny too would turn to the rest of the group, Yomi and Pal in particular, "So when you guys are ready to go, just say the word."

-- CHAPTER 5 // HELP WANTED And just when Aleja couldn't think of any more reasons to have fear, that's when they found it. A giant, creepy, pitch-black well of darkness in the shape of a rather majestic door. Was it... an entrance? Were they excavating, when they found this? And the most dreadful question... ... what's inside? Aleja retreated a few inches when they pointed at the thing. She whipped out her phone again, hoping for some advice from her patron and overseer. Nothing, not even one of his joke texts. She didn't like what Pal had to say about the situation, but she couldn't find herself disagreeing. The real problem, for her, was finding some light in such darkness. Without light, she thought, she was nearly useless. Luckily, Kenny and Skadi came to help with their own devices. A set of torches - no, fancy torches - that would have helped them along the way. She grabbed one, and grabbed it firmly. Was that really what it meant for her to start helping people? She decided she wanted to protect those who couldn't protect themselves. Even if it had to be done inside a dark, humid cellar filled with nightmarish darkness. Of a sudden, she had an idea. She went back to a pile of rubbish, and scavenged for a solid piece of rope. "If it gets too dark and the torches are not enough" she said, her eyes lighting up with a little pride for her thought process, "we could wrap this around our waists. You know, just so we don't get lost."She looked back at the entrance. It was about time to go, something in her mind said. She gulped, and forcing herself to put one foot in front of the other, she marched into the dark abyss. -- NAME // Alejandra Leblanc -- DIGIVOLUTION STAGE // Human -- TECHS USED // None.

Yomi watched as Kenny evolved his digimon into a shiny knight, in a flash of digital light.
It was both impressive and intimidating at the same time. But... these guys were on her side, and she didn't mind the big boys doing what boys do, and take the heat in case things turn out to be dangerous. That looming darkness inside was so thick one could almost touch it. The renamon took the torch and the rope, holding it in the other just in case. The worst thing that could happen was to be lost in an ancient ruin. She looked at Pal, whose metal form looked solid and capable, and then at herself.
Why can't I be made of metal when things are about to get bad?
Do not complain. Your form is more useful than you know... or can see.
Another cryptic set of words. They were odd. Usually her demon was more direct and to the point. Nevertheless, the others were intent on going. With torches and ropes, they stepped inside. The darkness retreated from the light, but only barely. It seemed as though it was like a dark mist hanging in the air, seeking to snuff out the fire, but always getting burned away, whenever too close. Yomi let the big metal boys and girls go first, with herself going with Alejandra, at the back. A part of her wanted to hide behind the human-looking girl. But she also felt kinda bad for doing so - she was a digimon now, after all. Gathering her little bit of bravery together, the renamon stepped to go in front of her. The tunnel led further inside, to a fork, where it split into two. The light from the entrance was getting dimmer.
And then...
CHHHHHHHRRRRRRRT!
The sound of rock slabs scraping against one another came from the back. Yomi turned around and gasped, as she saw the doorway being closed off by a stone slab that slipped out of nowhere to block the path! And just as it did, the darkness closed in on the party, briefly enveloping them and snuffing out all the lights. It was a strange kind of darkness... Weakening, suffocating... Those that have evolved beyond a certain point would soon feel the drain, and forced to de-evolve into their rookie stages. Those at such a level, would not feel anything... Except for the feeling of overwhelming dread.
"Guys? Guys?! Are you here?" - Yomi's voice came through the dark, followed by a soft pull on the rope. Good thing someone thought of that, first. Soon, a little bit of light pierced through the darkness, as the fox used her digivice as an impromptu flashlight. Trying to find the rest, using it, and bumping into Pal, as she did so.
"Unff! Ow..."

-- CHAPTER 5 // HELP WANTED There were a few red flags she should've caught on to immediately. First, the darkness seemed to be so thick it actually looked like it had a body and a form - and like a gas, a jet-black gas of horrors, it tried to expand and push against the light that tried to cut it open. She had never seen that thick of a dark fog in her life before, and it made pretty clear to her that her powers were probably at a disadvantage there. If only she didn't rely so much on light being around... The second red flag made her realize her horrible mistake. A terrible sound, like rocks bashing against one another, came right from behind her back; she looked behind, towards the entrance, and only blackness stared back at her. She yelped, under her breath, knowing that the last source of natural, abundant light was gone. Just the flashlights and the flash of her phone remained. She tried to think it through, putting it on more rational terms; if she really was in danger, why would Iktomimon have agreed to sending her there? It was clear that her life wasn't in peril. Not yet, at least. Somehow, Iktomi would have manifested again and guided her out of her problems. "If only it were that easy", she voiced in her head. She shouldn't rely on others that much, after all. The third red flag was the strongest members of her squad feeling dizzy all of a sudden. Was something interfering with their powers? If it was, she hoped with all her heart that the same had happened to any and all hostile, stray virus Digimon that inhabited the place if there were any. She felt a tug on the rope, as Yomi called out to everyone. "I'm... I'm alive!" That much she knew for sure. Looking at the small strand of light, Aleja tried to take one of the flashlights Kenny and Skadi had given them herself; she looked around with it, looking for more clues as to where else to go. She wasn't sure if the objective, at that point, was to get out of that cave or to stick to the original idea. Either way, Aleja's first concern was to get everyone in the safest place as soon as possible. -- NAME // Alejandra Leblanc -- DIGIVOLUTION STAGE // Human -- ABILITIES USED // None.

Pal grumbled a bit and cracked her knuckles; this location was something she wasn’t used to. The darkness and this feeling of something trying to overwhelm them in a way. It didn’t seem to do anything to her? But… She’d glance at the others and frown lightly.
”Slow and steady…”
Hearing the rocks scrape behind them the magnamon-x turned; was there someone that had been hiding and waiting for them to enter? That question would likely be something the others would want to know too right? She’d grit her teeth as she felt that weakness wash over them.
She recognized this sensation; she had felt it in the human world in certain areas. But it was never something that affected her. So she just ignored it but that also raised a few other questions she had.
”I’m here.”
She didn’t so much feel the bumping of the fox as she noted that her form wasn’t in the same place as it was. Shifting slightly she’d reach down to rest a supportive hand on the fox’s shoulder.
”Relax. We’re fine. Lets just move forward, one step at a time. There has to be another way out.”
Her voice was steady and inwardly pal cursed herself for having to be like this. Cursing herself for having to stick to her guns throughout. She honestly had been hoping that they wouldn’t have to deal with some crazy fight or something like that. But… When it came to mysteries like this they’d just end up fighting some spooky digimon right?
”Just… Point the lights in a good spot and out away from the group, try not to blind anyone. Anyone have night vision?”
Right. Some mons did. Some had tremor sense and others just… Well it wouldn’t really be hard to see the magnamon-x what with all the glowy bits on her body...

Everyone here had brought some good ideas to the table. The two would grab their own piece of the rope provided by Aleja and wrap it around their waste, as they walked inside the dark crypt, making slow, cautious steps as to not wake the dead, only relying on the light from the outside to get them around. Or at least, until the door behind them made a slow, eerie creak, before it slammed shut, freezing the two in place for a brief moment.
Quickly as it came, the same bright light coated Skadi once more, shrinking her down as Kenny could only watch her, the SilverGrademon quickly reverting back into her fun-sized Valaismon form. She could only blink as she looked down at her body, the orbs of light the only thing to survive the dark suffocating energy inside, before looking up to Kenny, "...what happened?"
The dumbfounded Kenny could only respond, "I've... no idea. Something just feels a little... off about this place already." Still, he took a deep, calming breath as he gripped onto his orb tightly like a stress ball, before turning himself to the rest of the group, especially to the Black Renamon, "She's right. We just have to find the clues to find the way out so we can escape with our lives."
The first thing of matter was to guess, which fork of the road they had to go. As per Pal's suggestion, Kenny would point his orb at the two sides of the forked road, shuffling between the two to guess where to go. Rushing ahead would more than likely get them killed, so they had to play it safe. All they had to rely on at this point was all the context clues they could find, and nothing but every sound and sight they could see and hear to keep them safe.
What did lay beyond the darkness?

The brief shock from being sealed inside the tomb slowly passed.
Yomi felt her heart, which was beating loudly inside her chest, start to calm down, slowly. Still, even though they were still together, and their digivices served as sources of light, it did not help the fact that they were, indeed, TRAPPED! The fox narrowed her eyes, as her eyes slowly got used to darkness.
'Calm yourself. You do not need the light. You will see just fine.'
The spirit's voice inside of her head was surprisingly calming for its usual spiky attitude. Putting a hand on her chest, she exhaled. Now was the time to figure out what to do next. Her light briefly fell upon Kenny's digimon, who turned from the mighty giant it was, into a tiny sheep once again! The renamon quirked her eyebrow, briefly. Was that supposed to happen? As if sensing her question, the spirit spoke again.
'Yes. It is a defensive mechanism, of sorts. One I did not see in a very long time.'
Yomi gulped. She did not like the sounds of that. Defensive mechanisms sounded like trouble, and trouble was something she wanted to avoid. This was supposed to be easy shovel work for crying out loud! Backing away a bit and pointing the light towards the sealed door, the renamon muttered:
"Uhh... I can see in the dark. I think... In a bit. But shouldn't we focus on trying to open back that ... d-d-d-door?"
The renamon stuttered mid-sentence. Because as her light went over to point at the tunnel, it brushed over the ceiling, on which there were... 3? 5? No, 7 bat-like silhouettes, all of which opened their eyes, which glowed red, as they stared at the group below. Yomi stared back at them, briefly frozen by the display, and having taken a step back to try and hide behind someone... Only... since she was the last in the column, it put her straight first against whatever these things were!
'Demi-devimons. Small demons. Draw your sword.'
Instinctively, Yomi did just that. One of the digimon on the ceiling noticed, and released a screech, which the others caught up. It bounced from the walls and was deafening, and intimidating at the same time. The flutter of wings filled the air. The creatures were going to attack!

-- CHAPTER 5 // HELP WANTED Aleja had extreme bad luck with caves, apparently. Yes, the one she fell in first was probably just an hallucination and yes, she went inside of her own volition. But still, becoming food for a Digimon for possibly the second time didn't appeal to her too much as an idea. All these thoughts passed through her mind when Yomi lifted up her flashlight to reveal what looked like a colony of bats hanging from the ceiling."Aaah!" She screamed, covering the top of her head. She had no intention of staying in that place any longer - it was dark, there were Digimon everywhere, and she couldn't feel safe knowing that everyone had lost their strongest forms. But they were all attacked, which meant... she had to do what she had to do: go ahead and protect them. That's what she and Iktomimon had agreed to do from that point on, was it not?"I need... I need...!" Her hands reached for the Digivice, trembling; she went through the gestures, like she had done tens of times before. But nothing. Nothing happened. It felt like Iktomimon couldn't even respond; typically he had quite a lot to say when Aleja tried to draw from his Spirits. And yet... Not even a spark of light appeared, let alone the typical glowing wire that would form around her hand. "I can't... I can't transform!" She yelled, her voice cracking from the realization that her contribution to the fight might have been completely nullified.

Something was terribly wrong here.
Skadi had fleeting knowledge about the dark towers; how they prevented Digimon from evolving any further without the help of any outside sources like the aforementioned Digimentals. But this was different. This place just so happened to affect any poor sap from going any higher than Rookie. Her heart stopped as Yomi glanced at her and she blinked, "T-this usually doesn't happen to me, Yomi! There has to be an explanation to this."
She shot another glance over at Pal; still in her standard Magnamon-X form, as did Kenny. How could she retain that form so easily? Especially in a place like this? They at this point took it as a blessing; Magnamon-X was already quite the powerful Digimon, Valt, they felt, would be more than happy to attest to this. Perhaps she had a power to ward this off. Perhaps there was something inside her that protected her from outside sources...
Or perhaps it was simply dumb luck.
That had to wait. For now, the loud fluttering of wings drew their attention over to a series of bat-like creatures, barely recognisable even with the light. As Skadi readied herself into a defensive stance near Yomi, a cold blue aura starting to surround the lamb/kid's body, followed by rock hard layers of ice starting to form everywhere they could, Kenny turned his attention to Aleja, cursing her inability to spirit evolve at this very moment.
Oh no.
Does this place screw with spirit users too?
Without thinking, Kenny would dash over, grabbing onto Aleja's arm and dragging the both of them to the nearest safe area he could find, just to get them away from the fight. After a brief bit of painting, he pat her on the back as a concerned look showed on his face, "Aleja, are you OK?"
Meanwhile, Skadi called out to the bats above, still keeping her stance grounded as she eyed the bats, "Please, stay your ground! We're not here to attack you! Just, what do you want from us?" Regardless of their answer, she would still stand her ground, waiting for an answer. There was no anger, or ferocity that you could spot on her face or in her tone, but rather, an adamant, firm, but neutral one.
They just had to wait and see.
Anticipating a possible fight, Skadi summons her Frostcloak to give herself some extra armour beforehand, but otherwise stands her ground... for now.
The buffs/duration will take effect next posting round.
Frostcloak (RAM Upgrade GIGA): Skadi freezes over her body to create herself an additional set of armour, giving herself additional defence from her opponents. This ability automatically bumps up all her defences up by 30%, and prevents her from being affected from any debuffs from anything the opponent may have for 3 posts. (3 post cooldown)
Passives: Fluffy Bulk: Skadi's thick coat is, well, really thick for a Rookie level. She takes -30% less damage from all physical attacks thrown her way.
Buffs/Nerfs: Frostcloak (+30% all defence, all debuff immunity): 0/3 Total: Reduce physical damage by 60%, reduce all other damage by 30%.
Cooldowns: N/A

”Feels kind of itchy but nothing for me changed by the looks of it.”Palicae frowned behind her mask and looked about; they were in a good group but they were in a somewhat… worrying situation. She didn’t know anything that could suppress digivolutions like this. So they needed to find the clues and escape; simple enough. The magnamon-x’s single green eye pierced through the darkness and the varied lights on her body made it easy for people to tell where she was at. So at least they wouldn’t be lacking in knowing where the metal monster was at. She’d take a step forward and hearing yomi’s question. Pal paused. ”I don’t think any of us are strong enough to move it from this side. Or strong enough to blast it open. I might be able to scrape or dig into this side? But…”Palicae figured there was a better use of her time, in fact all of them could have a better use of their time. Pal’s head jerked to where these creatures were; screeching and calling attention to themselves. She’d growl lowly as Alejandra couldn’t transform and kenny was quick to yank them out of the way. Right now the heavy lifting would have to be done between the three ‘mons’ here. ”There’s a handful of them but I don’t think that’s going to be a problem. She had maybe a few seconds to think about what to use, knowing the line up and the fact that they were in a cave; explosives were clearly out. The magnamon-x raised one of her arms, opening up the hand so the flat of the palm was aiming at one of the devidemimons. Lines of energy danced up and through her form up to her palm before… A beam of energy shot out of her palm; looking to hit the lead demonic creature in the center of it’s small body. If it hit it’d send the little bastard reeling. ”Kenny, Alejandra. Do either of you have scanners?”Her attention was firmly focused on the fight; but if they did have scanners they could learn a little bit about what they were fighting. Maybe they’d get lucky and these things were what were responsible for the strange aura that locked their forms. If not… this was going to get complicated. Log: -Palicae uses Hand blast to attack the lead DemiDevimon Passives: [RAM UPGRADE GIGA]Metal Core|Combat Passive: Palicae is heavy, so much so that she suffers a drastic decrease of her speed at every stage. But she's durable to an extreme in both physical damage and in abundance has stamina for days. She might not catch you, but there's no way in hell you'll be taking her down easily.
Jump jets|Noncombat Passive: Movement is key in any battle and suffice to say with these jump jets she's not limited to just slogging around on the ground. While she's not fast, she can at least cruise along...
Liquid metal-I|Combat Passive: Palicae is what some can call liquid metal. Her body doesn't require the same sort of ingestion as most do. Instead taking the very minerals out of the air to heal herself or sustain herself; reducing if not outright removing her requirement to breath, eat, or sleep in any variety. All and all, in a city or mountainous environment she's considered to have light[5%] regeneration at all times as the metal in the area heals her.
Liquid metal-II|Combat Passive: Furthermore, Palicaes body is strangely malleable, she can form her body as she pleases. Making it so she can fit into tight places, go under doors.. the whole schibang. She has an issue making her body sharper than it is and can't use this to turn her body into weapons at this stage. If she uses this to dodge an attack it incurs a two post cooldown. Move: Hand-Blast: Palicae charges up a small amount of energy and shoots it out of one of her hands. Striking a target up to 30 feet away from her. This blast has minor five foot knockback for anyone equal to her level and deals a medium amount of damage.

"Please, stay your ground!"
"Ree!"
"We're not here to attack you!"
"REEEEE!"
"Just, what do you want from us?"
"WE ARE THE DEVILS THAT SAY REEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
There was no reasoning with the DemiDevimons. They flied about and around, their pattern scattered, bizarre and confusing. A lucky shot in the dark by Pal hit one square in the face, sending it flying against the wall. It flopped onto the ground soon after, before getting up in the air again, angrier! With Alejandra not able to rely on her spirit companion. they were outnumbered about 3 to 7, humans not withstanding! About 4 of them flied overhead and flapped their wings, raining a rain of sharp and unhealthy-looking syringes on the party! It was like a rain of arrows, only syringes! Each one that would hit would pull out some of the blood, or data, out of the target, before falling on the ground! That is how DemiDevimons fed - even if the prey escaped, some of them remained to nourish the creatures. Dozens of darts would fall upon Alejandra, Pal, Kenny and Skadi!
Yomi, being at the back of the column, faced the other three, who lunged at her with their sharp-looking claws! Had there been one, she might have used her sword to repel them, but three?!
"Aaaaaaaaaaah!"
The renamon screamed and crossed her arms in front of herself, to shield her body from impact and sharp claws. But instead, something else happened. Black energy erupted from her body, enveloping around it in a sort of protective layer. The first DemiDevimon came into contact with it, attempting to sink its claws into the fox's hide. The barrier then exploded and sent the creature reeling back into others, thwarting their charge, for a little while. The renamon remained unharmed.
"Quickly! Single-file, into the right tunnel! Their numbers would mean nothing there! Retreat or be torn asunder!" - the renamon barked an order, her voice much coarse and forceful than the typical mumbling and meek fashion in which Yomi spoke. it almost sounded masculine. Holding the sword like they meant it, the fox parried a couple of syringes falling her way. She'd go into the tunnel, not waiting to see if others followed or not. If not - it would be their choice. Few could notice a physical difference, in the darkness and panic.
The fox's eyes turned from blue to a shade of red. Yomi was not at the wheel.

OOC: Due to Pepsi leaving the mission voluntarily, this post onwards will assume that she was never there. Otherwise, proceeding as normal.
What was up with these DemiDevimons here? Skadi's words fell upon deaf ears as the small creatures swarmed all around the group. Why were they acting this way, exactly? Self-defence? The aura of the cave itself? For shits and giggles? From the look of things, they seemed like they had nothing to lose at this point. By this time, Skadi's icy armour had fully formed around her body, ready for them to make the first move.
With Pal striking first and sending one flying, only for it to get back up again without much of a struggle, it was clear these things wouldn't be going down without a fight. The Magnamon's words would quickly be drowned out by the flapping of wings and whizzing of syringes flying towards them en masse.
Oh no.
Even with the heavy-looking armour, Skadi was still quick to act. Before Kenny could even budge an inch, he felt a sharp shove away on his chest, away from the swarm of syringes. Despite the needles digging into the unprotected skin of the Valaismon, she gave the ground a sharp stomp, before a small but powerful earthquake would shake the area. All of a sudden, a giant spire rose from the earth, threatening to strike the incoming DemiDevimons down.
Regardless, Kenny was safe, if not seeing a few minor bruises from the shove, as he groaned weary as he rubbed his head, gazing around. Hopefully, with the DemiDevimon possibly knocked out, Skadi would run over to Kenny, "You OK?"
"Yeah, thanks Skadi." He mumbled weakly, "These guys just don't know when to quit, do they. Just, what did Pal say again-"
He'd keep going, hadn't a sudden explosion sending another batch of the marble shaped imps back, courtesy of the BlackRenamon herself, cut him off almost immediately, as both boy and baby lamb forced to shield their eyes. The moment they could unshield themselves, an uncharacteristically masculine voice coming from Yomi would order them to the right tunnel.
Neither was willing to stick around for any longer. With a little help from the plucky sheep, Kenny would pull himself up, and, along with Skadi, comply, following 'Yomi' through the tunnel as fast as their scrawny little legs could take them. And by the time they could catch up with 'her', they could quickly notice something was off.
"Yomi!" Kenny yelled through paints, "What's going on?" That's all he could say. And to be honest, it was hard to get a few more words out during the sheer panic of the situation.
Skadi strikes the earth with Spiral Pillar, aiming to strike the DemiDevimon to stop their assult.
Spiral Pillar (RAM Upgrade): Skadi punches or stomps the floor, causing a small tremor up to a 7 meter radius, which can disorient everyone except herself. In that radius, a 5 meter spire emerges out of the ground to attack the opponent almost immediately. The only warning they get are cracks on the ground underneath their feet. This attack can pierce Rookie-level defence buffs and passives, and break shields for maximum possible damage. If this attack hits a Champion level instead, then this attack does 50% of the maximum damage to them if they have any passives or buffs active that would otherwise decrease it, or if a shield is active (but does not break it). Ally Digimon may be affected by the earthquake as well (but cannot be damaged by it). However, the spire will never hit an ally. If there are more than one enemy in the radius, Skadi can select who gets hit by the spire, but all of them can be affected by the earthquake regardless, leaving them open to attack from allies. (3 post cooldown)
Passives: Fluffy Bulk: Skadi's thick coat is, well, really thick for a Rookie level. She takes -30% less damage from all physical attacks thrown her way.
Buffs/Nerfs: Frostcloak (+30% all defence, all debuff immunity): 1/3 Total: Reduce physical damage by 60%, reduce all other damage by 30%.
Cooldowns: Spiral Pillar: 0/3
