Given the success that the last V-Day event resulted in, this one is definitely getting a rerun! Hope like in the past edition, everyone is ready to give their all, have a fun time, and maybe even find that special somebody. Or just deepen a bond you already have; that'd be nice as well! In any case, I'll start by reminding everyone what were last year's rules. At least, the relevant ones.
—The sign-ups will begin today, and will last until January 31. After that day, no more signups and the pairings get rolled, courtesy of our master shipper, Dice-tan.
—Don’t forget to state any dating preferences, if you have any! But at the same time, try to respect the nature of this event's matchmaking! Common dating preferences include, but are not limited to: boys, girls, digimons, certain age ranges, among others.
—Every character should apply with the intention to date. I can't stress this one quite enough. Comic relief and alternative characters are fine and all, but not for this event. Keep it in topic!
—Every thread will be IC.
—You can submit as many characters as you want for this event, but in case we can't pair every one, a person's first will take precedence over everyone's second, and so on. If you're submitting more than one character, order them from highest priority -> lowest priority.
—By default (and that means, unless otherwise arranged between the posting parties), these threads will have a grace period of 1 week per posting round. In case it wasn't clear, a posting round is everyone participating in the thread posting. Try to keep a healthy posting pace! This kind of threads grinding to a halt feels especially bad, trust me.
——I don't want to enforce this one, but unless providing a good reason, leaving these threads unfinished will result in penalties for the responsible parties. Join only if you're sure you'll finish!
—The date can be as long as the participants want, but if you're asking about a minimum, it's 2500 words per person. Of course, the most important thing about these threads is for them to reach their natural conclusion, whether good or bad!
—What about rewards!? They will be either:
——20000 bits.
——Or 45/60/75 posts, depending on level (IT+Rookie/Champ+Ult/Mega+Super Mega). In case you're signing more than one character, this reward can only be picked up once.
—Beginning on the 1st of February, all the couples have exactly one week to begin their threads. If anyone doesn't, they'll be disqualified from the event. If they didn't begin because a person poofed and there's enough people to support it, a second round of pairings will begin.
Everyone should sign up in this thread, and if you have any questions, feel free to tag me in #ask-a-mod!
Everyone who has participated in last year's event should be familiar with the majority of those; this year, however, will be a bit different in the sense that we're adding a few more clauses. Here they are!
—The categories a character is able to sign up in are as follows; single date, double dates, couples, and group dates. Basically:
——Singles: Lonely souls who want to have a good time, and maybe even get lucky in the endless search of that special somebody!
——Doubles: Two couples, hanging out together for a dose of good, old fun! While love might be the air, that's no reason to miss on potentially getting a new pair of best friends, right?
——Couples: An already established couple, looking forward to deepening their bond, or maybe to spend the day in a special way!
——Group dates are dates that include groups of 3+ beings that might or might not hold feelings for one another. Nothing wrong with just wanting to have fun in a date like this, right? Beats brooding over the day it with a tub of ice cream!
—There are two ways to engage in dating: The first is exactly like last year, where all the participants from the date come into an agreement and thread normally. The other? I draw a random prompt from my carefully elaborate Promptbag™ and y'all thread around it! Good for characters that would otherwise not interact with each other as a way to hopefully break the ice, or maybe even a way to add spice to your dates! The prompt can only happen if every participant of the thread wants for it, though. Gotta make sure everyone's comfortable.
—This one is probably the one that pains me the most, but... as per this thread, there's some unfinished dates from last year's Valentine's event. And while the worst offenders have been penalized already, this also means...
——People who still have unfinished threads have until the end of this month to do so, otherwise:
———They will only be able to join this year with only one (1) character, and.
———People will able to reject the getting paired with them (unless they're at fault for this as well) due to concerns regarding this.
———And will be banned from this kind of event permanently if a situation like this one repeats due to circumstances under their control. Fulfilling this event normally will remove being in this state.
And now, for the part that some of you might have expected! Remember the special surprise from last year? Well, it's back, and, in case anyone forgot what it entailed:

And now, for the part that some of you might have expected! Remember the special surprise from last year? Well, it's back, and, in case anyone forgot what it entailed:
—It applies only for people who respects the posting guidelines written above.
—It rewards adhering to the spirit of the event.
—It applies in addition to the event's normal reward.
—Won't be same for everyone, and it'll somewhat depend on the date's outcome!
—Only one per OOC person.
—Won’t be able to be traded/given away unless it's by retiring the character that owns it.
—And, as a small surprise, if you've won it last year, and fulfill its criteria this year, you'll be able to upgrade it. (:
