MPC Scenario 70A, FAST FORWARD: Let’s just cut straight to your character’s big finale, the big climax of their whole story. This is the thread where they face their greatest foe, fulfill their ultimate destiny, achieve their sole purpose - or maybe they lose it all. Either way, this is it - this is everything.
MPC Scenario 70C, FINALE: On the subject of finality, all lives must end with death. And in this MPC, this is the chance to write one. Taking advantage of the non-canon of MPC's, this is the chance to write one that covers that finality - the death of your characters. Will they go out in a blaze of glory in battle? Or simply close their eyes in the eventide of a long, worthy life surrounded by their loved ones? However you want it to go, at the end, the curtains are lowering, and take a bow.
MPC Scenario 33(70X), THIS IS THE END: It seems that the apocalypse has finally come! Has your character gotten trapped in a radioactive wasteland, or are zombies trying to knock down your door? Is there hope to make things better, or are you just out for your own skin? Human or Digital World, hopefully you can survive!

Ka-KROW!
Thunder roared across the battlefield, as lightning coursed through the thick, dark clouds above. Again, and again, lightning lit up the battlefield in flashes, revealing the dark army ahead. An army of BlackKyukimon - a darker, even more evil version of the original Kyukimon. And of course, they were colored black - the darkest black one could imagine.
There were thousands marching forwards in perfect synchrony.
"Hold!" An order came from behind Governor - from a Wargreymon by the name of James Holden. And so, Governor did. Or rather, continued to do. He was ready for battle, intensely focused on what is to come soon. He knew that many of his comrades were not as built for battle as he was, and some may even be on the brink of giving up. But, it will come, soon. That rallying call, those motivational words, will soon come.
The BlackKyukimon was closing in, bit by bit, covering the barren wasteland in a blanket of black. They were soon going to come into range…
"FIRE!" Commanded James, and loud, booming sounds rang out from behind Governor. He could feel some of those around him flinching or looking back to see what was going on, but definitely not him. Governor was confident in his belief that his superiors knew what they were doing, that everyone had a part to play. Right now, they just needed to be good soldiers, playing their part once their time comes.
Above him, something else was lighting up the sky - red balls of electrically-charged plasma charges, fired from the cannons of various artillery-type Digimon. The plasma charges made their way until they reached their maximum height, before descending down towards the BlackKyukimon. The plasma charges were massive, and seemed like they would take out dozens of BlackKyukimon at a time. But… just before the charges land… that was when the BlackKyukimon did their thing. In a blink of an eye, the BlackKyukimon had shifted out of harm's way, moving so fast that it seemed like they teleported away from harm's way.
"Maintain artillery bombardment! Artillery units 1 to 3, rotate 20 degrees clockwise! Artillery units 6 to 9, rotate 20 degrees counter-clockwise! All artillery units, match bombardment target to artillery unit 5!"
Governor watched as the plasma charges congregated towards a single region within the BlackKyukimon army. This time, the sheer volume of plasma charges falling down within a short area negated the BlackKyukimon’s ability to retreat out of harm’s way in time. Governor watched as dozens at a time dodged out of the way of a charge, only to be taken by surprise by another and dissolving into data as the charges exploded into them.
The battle has truly begun.
The BlackKyukimon broke out of their slowly, synchronized march to charge forwards, knowing it was finally time to engage.
"Freedom Fighters!" Ah, here it comes. Time for James’ rally. "It is time. We have fought hard to reach this point, and this. This my friends, is the final battle. Today, we stand together to protect the Digital World, to safeguard its future for our children, and our children’s children. We stand united as one. We stand as the heroes this world needs, we stand as beacons of hope. Each and every single one of you will leave a lasting legacy on this world. For when this battle is over, we will have triumphed over evil!"
Governor could feel his patriotism welling up, just hearing those words. He could feel it in the air. Those that had fear in their heart was quickly being turned by James’ speech. Whatever would happen, Governor was proud to have met the human - the spirit user that had somehow managed to now become a WarGreymon, and was now leading what’s left of the Digital World’s free population against the evil that was EsmeraldaKyubimon and her legion of BlackKyukimon.
"You, are strong. You, are brave. You, are valiant. You, are steadfast against the ongoing tide. FOR FREEDOM!"
All the Digimon around Governor roared, screamed, shouted, or expressed their general readiness for battle some other way. Governor’s focus just intensified all the more. James had timed it perfectly, for the BlackKyukimon was coming very close now. The bombardment overhead was still ongoing, picking off the BlackKyukimon further away. But the ones that were coming closer - it was their job to take them on.
Governor felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned around and noticed the Meramon that was his squad leader nodding at him. Yes, it was time.
Governor took three steps to take himself ahead of the rest of his section of the army. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, gathering himself and solidifying his focus absolutely. He held his arms up and crossed them in front of his chest. He was attuning himself to the battlefield, hearing the BlackKyukimon coming closer and closer… and closer, until they were now in range!
Governor opened his eyes and swung his arms down, summoning holy energy that surrounded his long, loppy ears, and both of his forearms down past his hands. The holy energy materialized into sharp sheaths over all four of these appendages, a special signature move of his kind, the SeaAntylamon. Then, eyes intense, Governor raised his head slightly, and let loose a massive roar into the sky. The soundwave traveled from him as the epicenter, rushing through the army behind him, invigorating them with the energy of battle. He could finally feel it now - the last semblances of fear was now gone. The freedom fighters, all of them, were ready to give it their all.
That was good, because the BlackKyukimon had gotten into range.
It was time.
"CHARGE!" James commanded.
Governor rushed forwards. He did not know or care how many of his comrades were charging with him, he just knew that it was time for him to play his part. Coming over a crest of a small hill, he was the first to intercept a BlackKyukimon, who was also coming over the same crest. Immediately Governor went into a defensive position, as the BlackKyukimon disappeared from view, the next time it appeared in view, it was to the left of Governor, slashing at him with its scythe-like arms, only to hit Governor’s ear-sheath. Immediately, the holy energy from Governor’s ear-sheath burnt away at the BlackKyukimon’s scythe, causing it to leap away to get away from the effect. Governor could feel some of the data from the BlackKyukimon absorbed by him, healing him. Even though he was only Champion-level, he was basically designed to combat Virus-attribute Digimon, and thus the BlackKyukimon, despite being Ultimate-level, had met its match.
Around them, the two army was colliding, all manners of Digimon going up against the BlackKyukimon. Roars of death happened almost instantly, as the weaker of both sides were quickly destroyed.
Governor focused on the BlackKyukimon that he was engaged with. It was his responsibility, right now. Governor launched himself at the BlackKyukimon, slashing at it with his arm-sheaths, which the BlackKyukimon expertly parried with its scythes. But Governor kept the pressure and finally, the two clashed their weapons against each other, refusing to part. The BlackKyukimon had finally realized that it had no choice, that despite Governor’s holy sheath eating away at its scythes, its only option was to keep at it, to break Governor’s sheaths. But, the BlackKyukimon had forgotten something very important. Governor kept eye contact with the BlackKyukimon, drawing its attention with a wicked smile on his face. He needed to distract the BlackKyukimon as he raised its ears, pointing them at the BlackKyukimon. Then forward they went, stabbing deep into the BlackKyukimon from above, before it could realize what was going on.
The BlackKyukimon’s eyes widened for a moment, before rolling back, and it body dissolving into free data.
Governor immediately turned his attention away, moving on to his next target. There was no time to dawdle. More importantly, the BlackKyukimon were inexperienced in battle, having only been recently created, but soon they would learn vigilance, and that was when the difference between a Champion and an Ultimate would grow even wider, even if the Champion-level Digimon had a significant advantage.
A BlackKyukimon launched itself from afar at Governor, and once again, holy sheaths and viral scythes met, each trying to break the other. Governor pushed with all of his might, against the BlackKyukimon that was doing the same.
The strain was showing on his face, while the BlackKyukimon was… smiling? This was definitely a strong one - far stronger than the previous BlackKyukimon he fought.
Urghhh arghhhh!
Governor roared internally, although he mimicked it with his mouth anyways, even if no sound came out. Being mute kind of had its disadvantages sometimes. He felt like a roar right about now might at least somewhat dis-orient the BlackKyukimon in front of him. Instead, Governor had to summon even more strength, straining his muscles to push his sheaths further into the BlackKyukimon’s scythes. But, it was still not quite enough. The BlackKyukimon was still holding on.
So, Governor raised his ears again, and stabbing them forwards at the BlackKyukimon. Yet, this BlackKyukimon, despite seeing what was coming at it from the corner of its eyes, did not flinch or seeming to react. It was as if it knew… that right that moment, another BlackKyukimon came from behind, landed on the shoulders of the first one and blocked Governor’s ear-sheaths with its own scythes. Now, Governor was in a strength contest with not just one, but two BlackKyukimon, and with his ears in an imperfect position, Governor was having a hard to fighting both off. They kept pushing forward, while Governor was shrinking, his body collapsing into an almost-kneeling position. He was not going to be able to hold on for too much longer.
Governor looked down to examine the position of his paws. One was pointed down, support the brunt of his body’s weight, and the weight of the BlackKyukimons on him. The other, was a bit forwards, directly in front of the first BlackKyukimon’s foot.
A chance!
Governor surrounded his front paw with holy energy, which then extended forwards into a battle sheath. The holy energy sliced straight into the foot of the BlackKyukimon, causing it to growl in pain. Taking that chance, Governor put extra strength into his arm-sheaths, causing it to immediately respond by enforcing more force as well. But, that was just a distraction. Knowing the BlackKyukimon had shifted strength away from supporting itself, Governor kicked forwards, slicing his paw-sheath up the BlackKyukimon’s leg, into its torso. The spinning motion cause Governor to fall backwards dragging the two BlackKyukimon forwards with him. But, here was where his experience came in handy. He had planned this ahead of time. By now lowering his arm- and ear-sheaths, he caused the BlackKyukimons to move in the direction of motion that they were applying with their scythes, falling both forwards uncontrollably. Governor, on the other hand, shifted and curved his right arm- and ear-sheaths, letting the scythes gliding over the sheaths and directing them away from him.
With everyone still in motion, normally it would have ended up with everyone falling into a single heap. But, Governor had great control over his arms and ears, and was able to shift them just that bit further… just enough, to end up in the way of the two BlackKyukimon, who following their direction of motion, had no choice but to fall onto the sharp tips of the sheaths, impaling themselves. Perhaps if the first BlackKyukimon still had proper lower support, then maybe it could have done something. But with Governor having sliced through its leg, and with a whole other BlackKyukimon on its shoulders, there was nothing it could do.
The two BlackKyukimon bursted into clouds of data, floating away in the massive winds that was buffeting the field.
Oddly enough, despite the rain and thunder and lightning, rain had still yet to rain down. Governor wished that it did, because water only further strengthened him. Yet, the EsmeraldaKyubimon that had came to this Digital World had brought with her some sort of dark magical power, one that had transformed the Digital World into a Digital Wasteland, where climate and geography and everything was turned upside-down, topsy turvy, all strange and warped. The alteration of the landscape alone had destroyed half of the Digital World, and for every Digimon that was destroyed by such sorcery, the EsmeraldaKyubimon was able to corrupt the fragmented remaining data to raise an additional soldier for her army.
Over time, the corruption had spread across the entire Digital World, consuming one area at a time. It was the end of days, until the Freedom Fighters had began to mount a viable retaliation against her. Although small in number at first, it was able to rally the spirits of the remaining Digimon, which had soon gathered into the massive army that it was now. Digimon of all manners were fighting alongside each other, previous enemies joining forces, villains knowing that if they did not, there would not even be a Digital World for them to rule.
Taking a moment to breathe, Governor turned up to watch as the plasma charge bombardment continued. Things like those plasma charges, they could not have happened without combining the knowledges of such disparate Digimon. However, this battle… it was not going to be won by intellect. It was still going to be won by sheer force.
Alright, rest time is up.
Governor turned his attention back towards the battlefield, where another BlackKyukimon was charging at him. It was so fast, that it was really just a blur. Importantly, its scythes were faced forwards, and Governor knew the BlackKyukimon was intent on using its speed to put force behind its scythe, attempting to slice through his defences in one go. Governor’s eyes widened, realizing that the split second he had taken to rest might cost him this engagement. He shook his left arm and the holy energy dissipated, but then more generated from it, and as he raised it up, elbows bent, his fist balled up and facing him, and a massive holy energy shield in the form of a cone snail’s shell formed around his arm. A split second later, the BlackKyukimon’s scythes pierced into his holy energy shield, coming very close to stabbing into his forearm.
That, was very close.
The BlackKyukimon attempted to pull its scythes out of the shield, but unfortunately the scythes had embedded them deep within, its curved nature lodging it in a position that made it hard to pull out. The BlackKyukimon kept on trying, each attempting pulling at Governor, but Governor was holding fast.
Then Governor raised its other arm level, pointing the sharp end of its arm-sheath at the BlackKyukimon, and the BlackKyukimon understood its full predicament. It tried with more intensity to draw out its weapon, but to no avail. Governor stabbed it in its neck, killing it.
As the BlackKyukimon’s scythe dissipated, the data Governor collected from his foe flowed into the shield, mending it.
"Watch out!" Governor heard someone call out to him, though he did not actually need it. He was vigilant enough to have drawn his attention back towards the battlefield, seeing what was coming next towards him - scythes of wind rippling through the air, spinning their way towards the Freedom Fighters. Some were able to dodge the wind scythes, while others defended against it with whatever they had. Others were lucky enough to wear powerful armor that suffered minor cuts from the wind scythes. However, many were unfortunate enough to take the full brunt of the scythes, which ripped them apart. Governor, placed his shield between him and the onslaught of scythes, letting his shield break them.
Governor saw the BlackKyukimon stopping far away, collecting in larger and larger numbers, sending the wind scythes at the Freedom Fighters. He scanned the battlefield, and understood the reason behind the shift right away. The BlackKyukimon had not used this long-range attacks before, because they had to get within close enough range, but even then, they were still within bombardment range. But… in the distance, he could see her. EsmeraldaKyubimon. She had joined the fray, and she had called upon her dark powers to form dark clouds above the BlackKyukimon, clouds that were taking the brunt of the plasma charges raining down upon the BlackKyukimon army. Sure, a few charges still got through, but it was not making as much a dent as it was before.
They were in trouble. Worse off, they were in an unsolvable conundrum. They cannot engage the BlackKyukimon while being bombarded by such thick wind-scythe fire. Yet, they cannot bombard the BlackKyukimon because of the clouds. To get rid of the clouds, they had to attack EsmeraldaKyubimon, which was just too far away, beyond even bombardment range. They cannot retreat either - this was the last bastion. There was no resolution that would not involve a massive loss of life.
"Governor!" A familiar voice rang out from behind the SeaAntylamon. Governor turned around to see the Meramon from before making up the hill, trying to get to him without being hit by the wind scythes. "Lilithmon has devised a counter to the black clouds EsmeraldaKyubimon has conjured up." The Meramon held up a small device in his hand, one that had wires coming out of it, writhing in the air. "If we can take this under the clouds and detonate it, it would surround the area with an anti-magic field that would dissipate the clouds, at least for a long enough time for our bombardment to do what it needs to do. A number of other Digimon has already been assigned some. You… I… you are our squadron’s only hope."
Governor managed to turn around enough to move his right hand back, signing to Meramon his answer.
"Governor. I… I know you would say yes. That was clear. But before you really, really do..." The Meramon looked down at the device, and then back up. "Lilithmon says that these bombs use the energy of the Digimon it is… well, hooked to. That means, when it goes… you go as well."
Translation: Governor would die.
True to his nature, Governor nodded almost without a second thought. Unflinching, unwavering, unfaltering - that was what Governor was programmed to be.
The Meramon reached Governor and held out the bomb, though he almost seemed like he wanted to take it back. Nonetheless, the situation did not allow the Meramon that luxury.
"I… I am really sorry Governor. I really am."
Governor signed back at the Meramon, before taking the device out of its hands. He turned around and took a close look at it, pondering how it works.
"Governor..." Meramon said from behind him. "That goes on your chest. Once you are within range… once..." A pause - long for the situation they were in. The Meramon began to speak again, but was cut short by Governor, who had reached back with his right hand. He did not turn his face to look at the Meramon. He just could not. Instead, he just signed two letters with his hand.
O. K.
He had already placed the device on his chest, and the wires had immediately found its target, latching onto him. No hesitation, no second thought.
A loyal soldier to the end.
Governor moved his right hand forwards again, and shook it - waving away the holy battle sheath. Then, he lifted it, resummoning holy energy and forming it into a second holy energy shield in the shape of a cone snail shell. With the two massive shields over both arms, he held them forth to form one single massive wall against the oncoming wind scythe. Governor roared an empty, silent roar into the sky, and charged forth, letting the shields break apart the wind scythes in his path.
He began to build up momentum, running faster and faster towards the army. He could see to either side of him the attempts by other Digimon of the Freedom Fighters, trying too to do the same thing that he was trying. One by one however, they were being taken down. A Tankmon had its tracks slashed by the scythes. An Ankylomon was charging forth, its armor parrying the blows - but soon enough, one had found its way against Ankylomon’s head, and mortally injured it.
Only Digimon that was able to fully protect their bodies were still charging forth, but the BlackKyukimon had shifted their attention to focus-firing the charging Digimon, trying to take them down. Governor believed that the BlackKyukimon did not know what they were planning, but it was nonetheless a sensible tactic.
As more and more wind scythes were directed at Governor, his pace was slowing down considerably. The wind scythes were not necessarily causing significant damage to his holy energy shields, but the incessant brunt force was all that was needed to push back against Governor’s momentum.
AURGH!
Governor screamed internally, straining against the force. He shook the holy battle sheaths off of his ears, and formed shields around them, moving them forwards to augment the other two shields. Together, the four were able to parry the wind scythes well enough that he was able to start moving ahead again.
One step at a time, Governor pushed forth over the barren land, moving ever closer towards the BlackKyukimon army. The closer he got, the more scythes were coming towards him, an overwhelming pressure that was constantly telling him to give up.
But he would not. Not today. He would not let the world end, not while he was still alive.
So despite the increased onslaught of wind scythes, Governor continued on his march. It might have been slower now, but he was still moving forwards, bit by bit.
Then, for a moment, the number of scythes suddenly decreased, and he was able to really pick up speed again. Hearing the roaring battle cries behind him told him why.
While the BlackKyukimon had focused on Digimons on a mission like him, the rest of the Freedom Fighter army had rallied themselves and were now charging forwards, taking advantage of the break in the ranged assault to move the battleline forwards.
Governor knew, without looking back, that many of his comrades were dying right that moment, taking the wind scythes so that he did not have to. Sacrifices that only mattered if he completed his job. That was exactly why he did not look back, focusing instead on his sole purpose right then and there. Onwards and onwards he moved, rushing forth without a single other thought, his holy energy cone snail shell shields protecting him from harm.
As he charged close enough to the BlackKyukimon, many began to break off and charge at him, hoping to take him down in melee. Noticing this, he shifted the two shields around his ears to protect his flanks, just in time as the BlackKyukimon reached and began his assault on him, attempting to bring him down with their scythes. Governor moved quickly, his eyes flashing back and forth between the path in front to make sure he was still on target, and either sides of him to see what attacks were coming from where to block them.
The ranged wind scythe attacks on him had died down, so to not accidentally hit the BlackKyukimon that was engaging him in melee combat.
Good.
Governor parted all four of his shields and shifted them to cover him from all directions, constantly moving them to parry away attacks. He had no holy sheaths available at the moment to counter-attack, nor could he summon any. He needed all the defence he could muster right now.
Forwards he charged, until the BlackKyukimon picked up his goal, and began piling onto him from the front. In response, Governor alternated use of the shields over his ears, bringing them forth to bash the BlackKyukimon, not dealing enough damage to seriously injure them, but smashing into them with enough force to knock them out of the way.
Eventually however, that opened up holes in his defences, to allow the first of the scythes to actually cut his flesh. Then more and more, as his weakened state made him all the more slower in his battle capabilities. Governor was not going to last long, for sure. He needed to complete his mission, and he needed to do it soon.
The BlackKyukimon was starting to latch onto his shields, preventing him from maybe even moving them. In response, Governor pushed his arms and ears as far out as possible, keeping the BlackKyukimon as far away from his as possible. They were now slashing at his body wildly, and the distance met that most missed - but every once in a while, one would land a cut on him. Again, and again, wounding him deeper and deeper.
Governor almost wanted to cry, but he refused to. He could not afford any weakness right now. However, no matter how strong he was mentally, physically he was exhausted and badly injured. There was only so much his will in and of itself could sustain his body’s own motion.
He was so close, he had reached this far, this deep into the BlackKyukimon army. So many had piled onto his shields now, that they had almost formed a complete hemisphere around him. They were trying their best to do anything they could to stop him, and finally, one found it - it sliced against Governor’s ears, again and again, and then in one lucky swoop, it had slashed off half of Governor’s right ear.
This, finally forced a cry of pain out of Governor, as the BlackKyukimon rushed into the massive gap to latch themselves onto him, using their scythes to cut him up, stopping Governor in his tracks. All of his shields dissipated, and Governor formed holy battle sheaths on all of his remaining appendages - his paws, his hands, and his remaining ear. Governor slashed and stabbed indiscriminately, dealing whatever damage his can and causing as much mayhem as he could, hoping in the commotion that he could escape.
The added bonus was that the attacks were healing him, mending the worse of his wounds. However, it was not enough. The BlackKyukimon had full access to him now, and they were dealing more and more damage.
There was only one option left.
Governor raised his head towards the sky, and let out a mighty roar. One, last mighty roar. A rallying cry that was so mighty, it broke his muteness to allow him to let out the mighty sound. The rally cry welled Governor up with a second wind, filling him with determination and strength. He forced all of his strength into his appendages, and pushed them all outwards, forcing the massive mound of BlackKyukimon on him away, opening up a chance for escape. Immediately, Governor launched forwards, grabbing onto the closest BlackKyukimon in front of him, and pulled against it to generate momentum to launch himself forwards, above the BlackKyukimon.
Into the air, he saw right away the sea of BlackKyukimon that was surrounding him, trying to take him down. They launched into the air, trying to take him on.
But Governor’s second wind was allowing him to see in slow motion now. He saw the BlackKyukimon reaching up, and by analyzing the momentums carefully, he was able to choose the exact scythe reaching up for him to push his paws against, using it as a pedestal to launch off of forwards. Again, and again, he was moving forwards, moving vast distances at a time.
But, he was growing weak. The rallying cry was a last-ditch effort, and he could not maintain it for so long, with so much energy he was using at the time. He could feel it though. The device was indicating to him that he was close.
So when he finally lost the energy provided him by the rallying cry and fell into the sea of BlackKyukimon, he kept on pushing forwards. Despite the mound of BlackKyukimon now building up on him, he was slashing his way ahead, and only ahead, killing BlackKyukimon after BlackKyukimon that was in his way, allowing him to move forward one step at a time. He ignored all other BlackKyukimon, no matter what damage they were doing to him.
Bit, by bit, he was moving forwards, pushing against the sea of BlackKyukimon. The damage on him was growing closer and closer to being fatal, held back only by the constant healing he was receiving by his attacks. It was only thanks to that, to the effort he was putting into digging forwards through the BlackKyukimon, that about 100 steps later, the device finally told him it was time. Pushing one last time to take just that extra step, to be absolutely sure he had accomplished what he needed, Governor collapsed to the ground.
The damage being dealt was overwhelming him, held back just enough by his arms and ear sheaths that he had moved behind him, to protect him as much as possible as the device drained his life force, and finally ignited.
Governor, stopped feeling. Stopped breathing, stopped thinking, stopped moving. Governor, stopped living.
