Silence ran her fingers through her fur and picked up her own fork n knife; she’d spin them around in her fingers for a moment. Getting their weight distribution in her mind; like if something happened she’d be able to fight with these tiny things. It was like she was always ready for a fight; even if she looked like she was relaxed. The shutmon tilted her head and took a taste of the meat without the sauce; nodding to herself as it was exactly what she wanted.
Her people; K’s people were for the digital world. For the little guy, they defended it from the leves and fought against the worst calamities as they came. Not disappearing into the background like so many others. She had heard of general patrols being done, these knights fighting in various locations. It wasn’t hard for her to get information regarding them when they were so open about it.
Hearing him speak the shutmon tilted her head; she’d take one of those cups and sip at it. It was very very sweet and it felt warm in her core very quickly; it hit the right spot and silence had to stop herself from draining the whole thing.
”Huh. I suppose that makes sense. Both of us coming from such different places yet having a samey desire. It’s interesting hah!”
The shutmon chuckled a bit and then blinked a few times before holding up her hands in mock surprise. She realized she must of erred in her description of which knights she had fought against.
”Oh trust me! It wasn’t a royal knight I fought against but one of the ones from her group. The knights of the rose. But… if given the chance I would hardly turn down the opportunity to cross blades with someone such as Jesmon or any of their companions.”
She’d laugh a bit and take another drink from her glass; flicking her ears as he said that this conversation was nice. But it was much easier to talk with his fists. She’d hum a bit and take in some more of the meat; some of the noodles and the drink. She felt her cheeks turn a rosey red and she’d snicker.
”Well once we’re done eating we’ll have to wait a little bit. Don’t want to waste perfectly good food!”
She let out a barking laugh, spinning her fork in the noodles to take a good portion of them. She was certainly relaxed and flicking her ears she’d consider a question… What should they spar in?
”Whatcha think we should fight as? What we are? Something higher? Lower? No matter what it’ll be nice to test out my endurance. Sovereigns know that I don’t get to do that often enough...”

There was a visible frown on Boss’s face, having misunderstood what Silence had said. But either way, she at least agreed with him on the idea of crossing fists or swords with a royal knight, either for the sake of purely fighting them or because they needed a good ass kicking. Maybe for both. The two of them continued conversing, leaving Boss to drink his wine and enjoy his meat in peace. The dragon considered himself incredibly lucky having met someone he meshed so well with right off the get go. Usually, it took a special kind of personality, namely someone that was willing to put up with his nonsense or enable him to a degree.
“You could argue it was meant to be then. Hell, I’m pretty sure whomever you were could have used the shining joy that it yours truly in your life.” He laughed.
He wondered how she would deal with Sid, Clark and Butch if they ever crossed paths. He couldn’t help but snicker a bit. They’d prolly get jealous. Keeping that in mind for later, Boss zoned back into the topic of their little spar for later. The Tekkenryumon set down his fork and cup and cracked his knuckles for a moment.
“As we are now is fine,” he commented. “Call it a preference to this form more than anything. Plus, I’d rather warm up in this form than go any higher. And it helps stave off the snow.”
Once that was settled, Boss would finish off his meal with a covered-up burp and a thanks for the meal, setting his fork and knife off to the side. “I always tend to stay in my lower form for the sake of meetings and keeping face since it’s probably the most professional look I’ve got. This is usually how most will find me unless they’ve gotten me to give enough of a damn, or I’ve gotten too over my head.” He said.

Silence gave a somewhat apologetic look at the mix up between those knights and the royal knights. Honestly either way she felt like that they would have driven her to the same results if not being a little more banged up in the latter case. The shutmon was enjoying herself here thankfully; with the wine, the company and the food it was easy to relax. The shutmon flicked her ears and grinned a bit as the other suggested that this was meant to be.
How the other she was could of used boss in their life. Honestly they probably could have, a fast friend like this was hard to come by and she’d snicker just a bit; gesturing with her fork to the Tekkenryumon with a smirk clearly on her facec.
”I certainly could! But that just means that I get to enjoy talking, fighting and whatnot on my own! Which definitely enhances the experience no?”
She felt that if K had met boss that there would of been a muted strangeness to their meeting now. But there was none of that, they were warm to one another; through talk, meal, drink and soon to be sparring! The shutmon mulled a bit about the sparring; if they did it in a higher form they might not be able to last as long… But hearing that he was down to go in these forms made the shutmon grin further.
”Yeah then I definitely would say I could go for a long time in this form. Might be able to match you!”
The shutmon laughed and it wasn’t too much longer before she finished her meal as well; hearing that he preferred keeping to his lower form in case of meetings was a boon. No one wanted to meet a super mega face to face in a peaceful environment. They’d be too afraid of what that mon would do! It was part of the reason she didn’t bother with her higher form… Thankfully she hadn’t gotten stuck in it like holly had, spending two weeks as a baihumon made it difficult to do anything!
”Aye, keeping to a higher form would probably scare some people. My super mega is pretty professional looking I’d say but I wouldn’t go around traipsing around in it. Thing bleeds so much energy as is! Thankfully after our spar I can just call my ship back out. Lemme clean the dishes and then we can get to our spar.”
No real point in leaving a mess, it’d be just a short time before the two of them were out back in the cold. The shutmon’s smile was still splitting her face, her hands on her hips and her gaze shifting from her companion up to the mountaintop.
”Just a little bit to go and we can get to fighting. Won’t lie you’ve gotten me a bit excited to fight you Boss.”
The shutmon paused for a moment and then offered her hand for a shake to the other mon. It was a simple gesture but if he returned it he'd find her grip was strong and there was a inferno of excitement in her eyes. She lived for battle normally and being able to fight against someone she could feel the strength off of made her even more so!

As the conversation continued, the two of them eventually finished their meal. Boss was feeling incredibly excited since he wasn’t expecting much to come out of this trip, but he was getting way more than expected. The last people he traveled with were basically his family, so a new Digimon was off putting, but interesting, nonetheless. Silence and he had shared a few things about themselves, but the idea of getting to know them better was nice, it was rare for him. After everything had been put away, the two of them were back in the freezing cold, most of the snow melting at the Tekkenryumon’s clogs.
Boss stretched his limbs and cracked his knuckles, watching Silence be just as into this as he was. The two of them had decided to fight in their current forms since it was more for a sake of preference, and it wasn’t terribly life threatening in any way. The goal was mostly to size each other up, not take a mountain and some change off the map. He was going to take it as seriously as he could. The two of them shook hands, Boss returning the handshake with a firm grip and a wide grin.
“Now, just one thing. Let’s keep it to just our fists. No weapons or anything. And as you can see, I’m pretty much unarmed,” he explained. “Plus, judging from how you climb, I’d gather you always use em.”
Once their handshake was done, the old dragon would step back a few inches. He spread his legs apart, and crossed his arms together, his usual fighting stance. While it looked off to anyone who didn’t know him, it was Boss’s most comfortable stance and probably meant to make him look the most intimidating. The dragon spit out a plume of fire on the ground, his expression turning serious.
“Now, you can have the first move. And don’t hold back on me, I’ll know.” The dragon commented with a smirk.

The shutmon was rather pleased with how everything had turned out thus far, the meal. The nice conversation… she had more or less made a new friend and that was pretty great for her! She was glad to share what she knew about herself with others and was grateful that boss didn’t seem to hold back anything about himself either.
She’d share the stretching, though hers seemed to focus on limbering herself up a little more than anything. It wasn’t like she was terribly winded from the climb and the short eating break had given her a time to recoup some energy in the meantime! She’d grin ear to ear as boss returned that shake with a firm grip.
”Oh yeah! I use em all the time. Hol on. Lemme just…”
The shutmon tugged on her gauntlets, pulling them and the weapons off in their entirity. Stuffing them both into her infini storage followed by putting away her third sword into the thing as well. She looked rather okay with the idea of using just her fists. Considering that they were fairly large given her stature and that they’d probably hit just as hard.
”Though just cause I use em all the time doesn’t mean my punches are lackin! Hah… though I don’t have as much practice with them.”
The shutmon stretched and gave her knuckles a crack; flicking her ears as the other told her that she could have the first move. She knew that he’d probably use it to find one of her many openings but… There wasn’t much she could say. She’d rather see what sort of reactions he’d have to it!
That and she figured that the handsome old dragon could teach her a few things about fist fights. She’d stretch further and hum to herself before taking up a somewhat light striker pose. Either of her hands coming up in front of her, though they weren’t held in a stereotypical manner as they had open fingers this would certainly mean her first few blows would likely only be testing swings for his defense. Though that’d just be a quick wind up to what would come next!
She was a smart cookie like he said and she was going to show that in her fight with him. She hoped at least! She didn’t want to disappoint him!
”Oh trust me Boss, I wouldn’t dream of holding back on you! You’re probably one of the few people I could go all out on!”
The shutmon grinned ear to ear, looking like an excited pup before practically leaping forward. She was wide open with plenty of openings yes, but she was also aiming a nasty swipe at his side. She knew how most bodies worked, so she figured if she landed a few blows on his stomach that’d open him up a bit. Though given that his arms were right there even crossed? Well.
She’d probably eat one of those fists too. Not that she minded!

Boss watched as Silence would limber herself up, accepting of the terms for their spar. Whilst he waited, he watched intently. He wouldn’t expect her to do anything sneaky right from the start. She considered herself a knight, so they were above all that crap. While the Tekkenryumon wasn’t by any stretch of the imagination, the least he could do was be honorable and wait. Silence eventually took off her weapons and stored them away, the dragon nodding in agreement.
“Well, perfect time to get acquainted to the idea of it then!” Boss declared.
Considering that the Shutmon was incredibly light on her feet, Boss prepped himself for anything to come and kept his eyes planted on her stature. The way she moved or stretched, anything that would have told him where she was coming from. If anything, she was just as giddy as he was about the idea. The last time he normally ever sparred was with Clark or Butch. The Veemon and Monodramon he knew like the back of his hand, so it was usually a two on one endeavor with him winning or the two of them doing something underhanded. While he didn’t mind that, fighting someone new always came with more things to find out.
And so they started. Silence leaped into the air, Boss’s eyes darting about. He kept his stance firm, waiting until the Shutmon got close enough. He’d gauge just how strong her blows were and go from there. The dragon was never a constant dodger, he’d rather take things head on and pay it back tenfold. Once Silence was close enough, he let her catch a swipe at his side. Of course, the dragon wasn’t invulnerable. He grimaced at how sharp those claws were, but of course he wasn’t going to let that deter him.
“Ora!” Boss growled.
With a swift movement, the Tekkenryumon would grab her extended hand, pull her forward and attempt to knee her and follow up with a punch from his free hand. He fully expected her to be swift enough to move out of the way. Compared to the Shutmon, Boss was a wall of scale and muscle. It was going to be hard for her to come out of this without some bruises or a punch to the face or anywhere else.

Silence felt her grin widen a little further as the other seemed ready to go; honestly the last person she had fought that gave her a challenge was the leomon guard. Sure he had been a form higher than her and with the Knight that she fought against wasn’t so much of a challenge as it was a test… Well. She was excited and there was a fierce light in her eyes.
”Indeed! I think both of us are gonna thoroughly enjoy this!”
One last crack of her body and the shutmon sighed. The last person she had sparred against was her adopted son Lux and while the ‘tyke’ was a fierce fighter in rookie well.. He couldn’t keep up if she went ultimate. It was just unfair to the both of them! So without someone to challenge herself against the shutmon was feeling static. She couldn’t consider the fights against Iko to be something of a challenge. It was a mountain she needed to chip away at by learning herself.
With her first blow landing the shutmon felt her blood and core pound. He was right to gauge her strength, she certainly had a nasty punch against anything vaccine so perhaps his natural toughness evened that out a bit! The swift reaction was exactly what the shutmon was looking for, sure his grasp would be tight but the shutmon wasn’t above ripping her clothing to get out of that grasp. A sharp tearing sound as she did exactly that!
Which would leave her missing a portion of armor wherever he had grabbed and a quick glance to the spot. Followed by a laugh the shutmon looked to come in again. He was a quick one, one that certainly made her want to go all out. Her core was rotating faster and faster…
”Heh! Got my blood going all ready! I can tell this is gonna be fun!”
Which just made her next swing all that easier to predict, coming from up high since he came from down low with that knee! His guard might be lowered in a way? She wasn’t exactly sure. But even if it wasn’t the spar between these two was going to be something she was going to firmly enjoy!

The first blow landed quite perfectly, Boss felt. Silence probably felt her body rattle and decided that escaping by any means was the best course of action. By a few microseconds later, the Tekkenryumon was holding what was left of her sleeve. At the very least, she was durable. Most folks would be crumpled over and throwing up after the force he put behind his knee. Boss set the cloth down and cracked his knuckles with a smile. The attack from his side left a pretty nasty claw mark on his side that cut through his buttoned-up shirt. It hurt quite a bit, but it wasn’t anything he wasn’t used to dealing with before.
“Alright, you can take a hit and deal one pretty well, that’s what I like to see.” Boss commented with a firm nod.
He was acting more like a trainer than a combatant in all honesty, but in his experience, it was better to act as that for someone who wasn’t terribly good at close quarters combat. Much better to hear your opponent calling out your weak points and seeing how they adjust. Such as right now, for example. The Shutmon was incredibly pumped up, which made him chuckle as she came up to him again with a highly telegraphed move.
Maybe it was on purpose, maybe she had something up her sleeve. Either way, she came down at him from above with another swing. “Don’t have too much fun that you make yourself open!” Boss shouted firmly. The Tekkenryumon, despite his bulky and firm stature, was flexible. He raised his leg, attempting to counter with his own swing of his leg. Usually, he would have just grabbed her out of the air, but that felt a bit…unfun. Better to have some enjoyment out of this and still try to provide a good lesson.

Silence had to admit that she was enjoying this already and the fact that both of them were able to land blows was good. Thankfully she wasn’t most folks and from what she could tell her own blow had done a little bit of damage. Maybe she shouldn’t be using her claws? It was kind of unfair she felt but… He didn’t seem to be complaining. She’d chuckle a bit and give the other a small nod in return.
”Same with you, most people would be complaining about scratches like that.”
She didn’t mind the trainer thought train, especially given how much more experience he had. She was willing to learn and he was willing to teach; it was pretty damn simple. With her coming as she did she certainly left herself open with the highly telegraphed move.
But she didn’t really have much up her sleeve, they weren’t to use abilities so she figured using her flight to adjust her trajectory was out of bounds in terms of their earlier agreement. Yes that swing of his leg connected and threw her own strike off a bit; she’d grunt and roll past the Tekkenryumon once she had landed; it certainly left a nasty impact against her and she’d roll her shoulders to sort of try to walk it off.
”More tryin to see just what yah’d do than leaving myself open!”
She’d grin ear to ear and would follow up with a low swing, she was aiming her balled fist at the tekkenryumon’s center. Those abs would probably take the brunt of the blow and they could just slug it out for a bit. Her frame might not of been as durable but she certainly hit like a truck to make up for it!
Though he did have the right of it, she was getting too excited. But with him mentioning that she seemed to reign herself in a bit more. Less openings, a little more control. There was still that intense fire in her eyes; near inferno level of excitement and desire.

Boss couldn’t remember the last time he had this much fun in the snow, if at all. Maybe the first time he’d discovered the mountain when he was much younger and got into a snowball fight with Butch, Clark and Sid, but nothing like this. If anything, he felt hundreds of years younger, and he was living for it. His spar was Silence was exactly what he needed to get back into his groove. The Shutmon provided a very good partner, and Boss was glad to figure this out in the time that it took for their ‘small’ fight to go on for.
If it was anyone else, they probably would have been frozen in the snow. The base of the top of the mountain they were on was mostly melted snow by now, no thanks to the Tekkenryumon’s burning aura. The snowstorm had calmed down a bit, but there was a very clear battlefield of visible ground and puddles of water with the snow surrounding them in full. Boss stood at the middle; legs crossed. The massive dragon was covered from top to bottom in cuts and scratches from the Shutmon. His button up had been completely tattered enough that he just left on the ground, exposing his bulging chest and abs to the world. His arms were also covered in scratches, some of them mostly fully healed considering how long they’d been going at it.
Boss had stopped counting the minutes, but he was pretty sure it’d been about three days straight, for the most part. Not counting any small, 2-minute reprieves and judging from the look of the landscape, it had to have been that long. The dragon lost track of time at around the first day or so since the Shutmon was far nastier than he predicted them to be without their swords or weapons, but that made for a more satisfying opponent. Even while Boss sat there calmly, his core was rotating wildly. The bruised-up mess of a dragon then finally stood up, flexing his arms and stretching his limbs. His hat had miraculously been untouched by their constant slugging and clawing, but the Tekkenryumon was beginning to feel the fatigue.
He glanced at the Shutmon, who was probably in the same state as him, chest heaving as he took deep breaths. “Woof! I was wrong, you know yourself pretty damn well to contend with me for that long, props to you.” Boss grinned widely.

It was a fantastic fight.
She had so much fun with it, sure she felt she was getting herself handed her own rear for a good part of it she felt but that didn’t stop her from enjoying it. Sometimes you had to lose to win and sometimes winning wasn’t everything. They kept going and going, fighting and sparring with one another. There were moments that the shutmon felt like she couldn’t keep going but… that got pushed to the side when she looked at the other. She wanted to fight more.
The shutmon wasn’t in much better shape than the dragon. While he was sitting, she was laying on the ground. Looking up at the sky. Her armor was torn in a lot of places and she was completely missing her upper body section. Most of it laying in tatters this way or that as it just proved to slow her down a bit. Amazingly out of everything her cloak had stayed on and fairly untouched. There was signs of bruisings all over her exposed upper body and arms. She could also feel her legs twitching from how long she had been up on them.
”Man… that was fantastic.”
The shutmon chuckled a bit and eased herself up to a sitting position. Noting that the other was now standing; he looked ready and raring to go as ever. Her own core was spinning like a top and she’d grin up at him. He hadn’t been expecting that she figured. But at the same time… well they both had surprised one another! Maybe at the start she had felt he wasn’t going to live up to the snuff or that she would fall short. But they had really managed to go for so long!
”And to think I’m better with my blades! But it’s easy to use them you know? You’re rock solid, I’m sure that some of my claws are dull now cause of you!”
The shutmon rolled her shoulders to limber up a bit and slowly stood up, using her arms to help bring her up. Though she’d stumble a little bit and wobble on her feet. She was still getting her legs back for the most part. It earned a laugh from her and she’d shake her head.
”I think some dinner and some sleep is in order. Mind if I bring out the ship again? Don’t think you’d want to nap at the top of a mountain with a half naked furball less than twenty feet away.”

Once Boss continued stretching and ceased if only to look up at the sky, he looked down towards Silence who was in the same tired, yet hyperactive state as him. At the comment that most of her blades were probably dull due to his scales and bulk, he couldn’t help but flex and pose like an idiot, considering that his chest was bare open too and his pants were tattered for the most part. He couldn’t call himself a dragon if blades sunk through his hide like he was made of gel.
“That’s what millenia does to a man. Don’t think I’ve had anything go through this hide, blades or anything,” he commented, waggling his eyebrows a bit at the Shutmon before sitting back down. The hyperactivity was beginning to wear down, and Boss was starting to feel the fatigue. He laid down on the ground, arms spread and chest puffing up and down as the pain began to set in too.
At the offer of having a place to sleep that wasn’t the outside, Boss nodded vehemently. “Yes, please do. The ground hurts and I’m too old to sleep on it again after years of comfortable beds I could sprawl on and never reach the end of it.” The Tekkenryumon said. Almost like he was whining a bit about his privilege. Once the ship was out and about, it wouldn’t take Boss long to make his way inside and make himself comfy in the hopes of dinner and a well-deserved rest. After that, they’d be traveling around together for a bit.
“Since we’re going to be together for a bit, you have any ideas on where you planned to go next after here?”

Silence paused in her stretches, flicking an ear as she felt the other's gaze switch to her. She’d manage a small but cheerful smile and at his posing or flexing? She’d give a low whistle. He was impressive that much was certain; could she measure up to someone that had been running around for so long? She felt that she could; given time of her own!
She’d tilt her head as he made his comment about his hide; giving a small waggle of his eyebrows at her which yielded a chuckle. She could imagine it, not much would go through dragon hide now days would it?
”Would be a shame to ruin a hide like that with a scar or two. I’m glad you’re that tough else i’d feel bad about my claws!”
She’d laugh softly and shake her head; hearing that he would like to have her ship summoned out well. She’d move to place it down once again. The notion of spending years sleeping in comfortable beds wasn’t lost on her. She knew that the previous iteration of herself had done the same and it had been hard moving on.
”Then let me just get this out here… The bed I have in there isn’t the comfiest but it’s definitely better than the ground.”
Silence stretched a bit and followed boss inside; she felt sore still and she knew that the next morning after she managed to sleep she’d feel it even more so. The shutmon blinked at his question. Where did she want to go after this? She had a hodge podge of areas that she hadn’t been to in the previous life… Places she never wanted to visit because of either their danger or cruelty.
”Well. I’ve got a few places in mind. New places that cropped up in the digital world. Shining sea, Sunken Elysium, Blossom Isles… Honestly I’d love to visit most of the digital world but those ones are places I haven’t been in this life or the last one.”
The shutmon beamed a bit and started to get dinner going. They had been going at it for a while and knowing both of them they’d need a feast to get all that energy back! She’d have to take off her cloak first thing though as it had a habit of getting in the way. So she was for the most part only wearing the leather bottoms she had. The sheer amount of fluff and the mane of hair made her look… almost barbaric if not a touch wild!
”Most of the cities I’ve been to. But they would be good for supplies, I imagine the both of us are gonna eat a lot of food so the fridge is probably going to need restocking on the regular. Not that I mind! It’s nice to have company like yourself!”
A bright smile and it wouldn’t be hard to notice that ever since the fight ended her tail had been wagging like crazy!

The two of them, after exchanging some comments, which could have been taken one way or the other -mostly in a positive jest-, soon retreated inside the Shutmon’s base once again. Boss was told that what they had wasn’t the most comfy thing in the world, but at this point with how sore he was feeling, he’d take anything over sitting on the rock solid ground again. Apparently the question of where she wanted to go next was a bit of a tough one, because it took until her to start their dinner for her to truly answer.
It wasn’t that Boss minded, but he figured that for someone who recently reincarnated and needed to figure themselves out, it was hard. Boss eventually sat down on a chair in front of the table, watching Silence cook as she figured out her answer. She said that she had some places in mind, some that newly appeared in the Digital World too. Events like that those were rather rare, so blazing some trail in an entirely new place was right up Boss’s alley too. He hadn’t seen some places in quite a long while, so it was all different to him either way.
Boss didn’t really have much in the way of removing any clothes other than just his tattered shirt, which was outside and already somewhere in the winds, leaving him entirely shirtless while he waited for Silence -who was apparently just a giant fluff ball, wasn’t that dangerous during meal time?- to finish cooking. He nodded in agreement.
“Sounds like a plan then. I’ve mostly been to a lot of places for business spreading, but that was when I had to hoof it on my own. Been a long while since that, so new places also means handing out cards, maybe I can call up Sid when I get there and see if he and the others are already on it, then I can probably get to building another hotel within a month or so, and then there’s staff….” Boss began rambling to himself under his breath, hand stroking his scaled chin as he delved into his work mode.
It took him a few seconds to eventually realize what he was doing and sighed. “Sorry about that. Work habits never die easy.” He explained. “But yes, we could probably visit Terminus since I know some folks willing to cut a deal for me and then we can ship out. It’s the least I could do for being a guest.”

Silence had to admit she was enjoying herself out here with boss; it wasn’t every day you got to fight someone or make witty banter with them. The fact that they were going to get to travel together too made this delightful! Comfort aside; she could at least replace it with something nicer once they got to a city proper!
Sure during cooking it could be kind of dangerous to cook, but considering how well she kept to her own fur it would be rare to see a little bit here or there come down to the food. Which would get scooped way or caught before it went in! She had a knack of catching her own fluff; given that the damn stuff was stark white!
”Sounds like you get to fight, meet new people and spread business all at once. Such a multi-tasker. You sure you have time to relax?”
The shutmon teased and stuck out her tongue as she set down the first portion of the food in front of her guest. It didn’t even take her long to cook; she had picked up quite a few tips and tricks along her way even at this young age! Then again her prior iteration also had a lot of experience that didn’t seem to fade away from her either… especially when she got going!
”Heh. It’s all right; I can tell it means a lot to yah if it’s on your mind like that. How bout this then? We go to terminus first that way our traveling is a bit easier and we can just go from there? Fuel isn’t really an issue and I’m pretty sure the long flight will just be us chatting each other’s ears off or something…”
The shutmon went back to the kitchen counter, getting the next bit served up. She had made a big pot of stew for the future meals and for right now it was something more simpel but filling!
