The normally serene sky was disrupted by the black silhouette of a winged humanoid. Closer inspection would reveal a Devildramon flying towards the aerial library that belonged to the Field Team. Riding upon the shoulder of this pitch black dragon was a human figure, her posture graceful and ladylike despite where she was standing. At first Littorio had been rather surprised to hear, and very doubtful, about a giant flying library but now that it was before her...well, she was no longer a skeptic.
The Devidramon flew down towards the library, coming to a careful land before using a clawed hand to lower Littorio down to ground level. In a single flowing motion Littorio lowered a boot towards the ground, stepping down from her partner’s hand. She turned back towards Lavina and smiled softly, lowering her head slightly.
“Thank you my dear~” The pitch black dragon nodded her head slightly, de-digivolving into the form of a Black Agumon.
“You are welcome Littorio.” The dinosaur walked alongside their partner, heading towards the library’s main entrance. Upon reaching the door Italian pushed against it, seeking to open it before knocking. She had no idea where the library’s public areas actually were and was hoping a member of the Field Team would show up

The knock at the door disturbs the research of someone as they write on papers and look through notes and observations, even small video clips. "...A guest?" In a way, Alice is relieved to hear this, given her unceasing studies of Digimon intelligence have been getting increasingly frustrating. "Well, I guess someone has to check it out." She stands up, and leaves the lab she's currently occupied to greet the stranger, gesturing to her partner to come help. "I wonder what they're here for. Knowledge, a theory, just another newcomer to the Digital World looking for advice?" In the back of her head, she's a bit nervous, but her thoughts remain just that for now.
The door opens to reveal a small, very clean reception area and a pair of humans... Well, one isn't exactly human, but could be mistaken for one at first glance. Standing next to the tall, green haired woman is a blonde in an impractical red dress and a witch hat. "Uhh, heya?" She gives a somewhat less enthusiastic greeting compared to the Tamer of the pair, who offers her hand.
"Ah, welcome! I'm Alice, welcome to the Library. We research the Digital World and everything inside it! Is there anything specific you're here for?" Alice's smile is clearly awkward, perhaps trying a little too hard, given her usual attitude being less inviting. There's something undeniably mysterious about this woman in front of her and that Black Agumon, but it's not something she thinks about too much, her mind still on a lot of the tests she was looking over. "Oh, and this is Dorothy."
"Yep, that's me!" Dorothy makes a toothy grin and gently pushes Alice out of the way so as to allow the other pair to enter. "Gyahaha, you don't need to be so formal, Greeny. It's just some people who wanna visit."
"Right, right..." The emerald haired woman responds, taking a few steps back so as to not be too overbearing. "Everyone else is either away or busy, so I just felt like I had to leave a good impression."

Waiting...waiting...waiting… Littorio waited for a couple moments before deciding to sit down upon a nearby half wall that served to separate a small garden from the footpath. For a place this large the Italian was genuinely surprised she had not seen a single soul, either digital or human. It was rather odd really. She turned her gaze towards Lavinia, the pitch black dinosaur digimon restlessly sitting. Her tail would always swish side to side whenever she was bored or on edge.
“Calm yourself my dear~ Today could just be a quiet day you know?” Still, that did little to sooth Lavinia’s agitation. She merely sighed, her jaw opening as if to speak before clamping shut. Deep down she knew her partner had a point. Unfounded agitation at an absence of people that she did not know was ordinary or not was merely wasted energy.
Time would prove the Italian correct as the door opened and out popped two humanoid figures. One was most likely human and the other, the witch in scarlet, was most likely not. The Italian’s eyes snapped towards the duo, her gaze growing bored with Alice before settling on the witch. Mmm...an attractive body really, with generous helpings in all the right areas.
“Ah? A delight to meet the both of you. I am...mmm Littorio.” She walked under the doors threshold, smiling a genuinely sweet smile that hid desires that were not suitable for young ears to hear.
“Oh. My name is Lavinia. It is nice to meet you Miss Alice and Miss Dorothy.” Those names stuck out to the dinosaurian Digimon. She knew of them was fairly common among humans but Dorothy?...A rare name for a Digital lifeform. Still Littorio and her partner were now both inside.
“Ah~ Yes. We’re here to avail ourselves of any information on how Digivolution works, as well as anything you have on what changes a human body undergoes during the transfer to the Digital World.”

"A pleasure to meet both of you." Alice's expression is slightly... Odd at the sudden question, but of all people, she knows that sort of thing perhaps a bit more explicitly... Though not on the level as a Spirit Warrior. She leans on the reception desk, and chuckles to herself a bit as she pulls out that ever-present notebook of hers, flipping through a few pages. "Hah, getting right into the complicated stuff? Well, there's a few things we know, or at least think we know." she immediately lists off a few things. "The most obvious thing is that Digimon tend to evolve in multiple distinct stages, but you likely already knew that..." As if she's some kind of teacher, she shows a set of drawings in her notebook of a small, blobby creature alongside a lineup of progressively more advanced forms. "What's odd about this is that things also seem to be dependent on how the Digimon is stimulated."
"...Oh, you got her all talkin' about theories." Dorothy laughs to herself, both rolling her eyes, yet smiling at her human partner before glancing to the other pair. "Ya might be here for a bit, but she's kinda just happy to have someone to talk about this stuff to." The somewhat shapely witch sits down on the desk without a care in the world next to Alice. Thankfully, no one is around to judge her choice of seating.
Alice just nods her head, and continues, flipping the page to some more charts and a few, slightly less polished doodles. "So a Digimon that's brought up in an exceptionally poor environment might end up a Numemon or something along those lines. But under better conditions, you get all manner of things. Of course, it isn't entirely foolproof, but seeing as humans are shaped by our experiences, it makes sense Digimon would be the same. As for the latter question... I have ideas, but no firm evidence. But we'll get there. Any questions so far?"

Littorio leaned back against the desk, a soft and rather flirtatious wink aimed towards Dorothy. The witch digimon did have a body that the Italian would simply adore a chance to carry out a closer inspection; yes a very close inspection. Ah...no no. Bad Littorio. Do control yourself. You were among children. She turned her focus back to Alice, listening closely as they recited information that Littorio mostly already knew.
“Mmm...yes I was aware that digimon have options in digivolution paths but….I was not aware of what affected it. I did assume it was something to do with their environment. Hmm… if it is a matter of stimulation...is it physical environment? Their diet? What data they absorb?” Those were only a handful of the questions the Italian had. Her other question was one she had already asked yet had gone unanswered.
“Hmmmmm….and what of us humans? Do we simply become raw data while we’re here? I...also heard that digimon absorb data through the act of eating. Is that true?” The gears turned and rotated in the Italian’s head, grinding against each other.
Lavinia walked towards the red witch and looked up at them. They remained silent for a few moments, unsure if they should ask or not.
“...Miss Dorothy was it? Do you have a public library I can use?” While Littorio handed the person to person gathering and sharing of information Lavinia much rather preferred a library. She was not the most keen on social contact.

"One of the main ways Digimon absorb data is through loading other Digimon. It's a common occurrence, and a way to get them stronger fast, but there's always the ethical concerns. It's not a popularly accepted method among most, but sometimes it's needed." The emerald haired woman thinks to herself. Some of these questions are actually rather unusual, the kind of thing that she doesn't really have answers for. "I've also never heard of a human loading a Digimon, not without being a Spirit Warrior..."
Dorothy brings up something rather suddenly, something Alice might have forgotten. "...But humans have been loaded by Digimon, right? So that kinda means the opposite might be possible, ya dork."
"If it is possible, I can only assume that it would be a bit unpleasant given the inherent difference between us. You and I may in fact know that better than anyone." Alice shakes her head, and decides to move on from the subject. Something about what she says seems...Personal, for whatever reason.
When Lavinia mentions something about a public library, Dorothy tilts her head. "Oh, right! Yeah, there is one. You gotta ask Usako for access, she's a lil' fussy after a fight broke out in there." As if to respond, Dorothy hops off the desk, and laughs to herself. "I get why, but geez..."
"You're right. I'm sure she's around here somewhere. It's a library, though, so don't yell or anything." Alice nods, soon returning her attention to Littorio once again. "And I assume eating also is part of the data transfer process. After all, Digimon do simulate organic life... Mostly. As far as I can tell, everything is data in the Digital World, but only Digimon and a few other things are physical data in the Human World. It's... Weird and I'm not entirely sure."

“Loading? A Digimon I met in Terminus did inform me that Digimon absorb the data of whatever they eat. Is this loading simply the same concept but only when applied to Digimon?” The terminology was not what Littorio had an interest in. It was the meaning behind the terminology that she was concerned by. Still, her ears perked up upon hearing that humans had been loaded into Digimon, it did imply that the reverse was possible after all.
“Humans loaded by Digimon? How does that come around?” Littorio rubbed her chin in deep contemplation, an effeminate hand stroking her sharpened features. She wondered just how that worked but more importantly how it would feel and any consequences involved. She had an inkling that Alice and Dorothy perhaps had first hand experience with the subject matter.
“Then I would like to accompany you.” When, and perhaps more importantly if, Dorothy made her way to question this “Usako” Lavinia would accompany them.
“It does sound weird...in which case...let me ask this. How exactly does the data humans get converted to inside the Digital World function? Does it share a similar baseline with Digimon data?...In fact, if the digital world is a place created by computer code and stored on a server does that mean it is possible to create Digimon by writing lines of code? What code does it even use?” If there was a coding language out there used to create Digimon that opened up a great deal of options to look into.
The Italian’s features were twisted into a pensive expression of deep contemplation as she pondered the possibility of actually writing code that could affect Digimon, or perhaps, the digital world itself.

"Ah... And you'd be right. It's called loading when it's a Digimon absorbing the data of another... It's not always physically eating them, could just be shattering their code to pieces and taking in their remains. As for humans getting loaded, it's a very rare occurrence. I've only heard of it happening once or twice, so details are... Understandably scarce." The green haired woman is clearly deep in thought herself now, uncertain as to the nature of the matter. "But it can be assumed a some of the loaded individual's original data remains for a brief time."
Dorothy nods as to the whole thing, not really paying that much attention. "We don't need to ask Usako, but it's probably best if we do!" She laughs, only half-joking. She'd likely get in trouble for this later, but the witch doesn't seem to really mind that much. "I think she's usually 'round here... She'll probably show up soon, then we can get into the archives 'n library stuff.."
"You know I can just call her over here." Alice presses a button on the desk and a beep is heard. "She'll probably be here shortly. That said..." She runs her hand through her long hair anxiously as she listens to the questions Littorio suggests, thinking deeply about the implications. "There is evidence that we humans and Digimon are compatible. I've only seen it once, but I think it's called... A Biomerge. Two partners, in perfect emotional synchronization, fuse together into something... Almost mythical. And a bit dangerous to both of them."
"...Yeah, it ain't exactly common. Must feel weird, though, like... Becomin' one with someone else. If that ain't weird, I don't know what is." Dorothy shrugs to herself, looking away. Perhaps she's uncomfortable about the subject.
"And I guess that last question is a mystery the Field Club should try and figure out sometime. I don't think we've ever... Made anything with Digital World code, or even figured out the specifics of it." And with that, Alice remains silent for a fair bit, perhaps... Thinking a bit too much. "Perhaps I should conduct some research on these subjects."

“Hmm….do you have any more details on these rare occurrences? Applications aside, my natural academic curiosity does make me want to find out a little bit more on the matter.” Littorio caressed her chin with one hand while patting the head of her partner with the other. As calm and passive at Lavinia could be, she was not the most patient type often prone to restlessness. With an annoyed growl they simply pouted and sat still, tail impatiently wagging.
“Biomerge huh? Hmmm...I’ve heard something similar to that but...never fully understood it?” Littorio’s expression changed into a painting of disappointment. She had been expecting the members of the Field Club to have more useful information but so far a lot of what she had heard was either stuff she already knew, had assumed in the past or was mere speculation. She had been hoping for something a great deal more concrete and workable.
“Hmmm...well. I work in an IT company, so if you need an experience from an adult who knows professional coders...I’d be glad to offer my assistance.” Littorio smiled sweetly, genuinely offering her assistance in this matter even if she had less than savoury uses for whatever knowledge it would result in.

Being responsible for this wonderful library, Usako had to be available whenever her assistance was required. For this, she had a buzzer system installed. And it already paid off, as she head someone at the front desk requesting her presence. So, the pair of double doors opened, and out stepped...not the tiny Calcumon that Alice might have expected. No, out stepped a tall QueenChessmon, wearing a labcoat and running her finger over a tablet computer. "Hm, yes, what can I do for you?" She looked up, and saw who had called her: Ms. Alexandria, and her fussy partner. And she seems to have brought a friend. "Ah, Ms. Alexandria, it has been a while. What do you need? Who is your friend?"

The expression Alice has when Usako arrives is that of surprise, but also a bit of guilt due to being away for so long. "Ah... You're right, it's been ages. Been studying Digimon intelligence, memory and such at Rosewood for too long, perhaps...” Despite what she says, she’s smiling, a sign that she’s been enjoying the experience. “Last I remember, you were a Calcumon.”
Her attention soon goes to the topic at hand. “Right. My friend here is Littorio, and her partner, Lavinia, would like to check out the library. They’re here to learn about the topics of Biomerging and a bit on the nature of data in the Digital World.” Alice explains this rather quickly, occasionally glancing to the other human to see if she’s still paying attention. “It’s been a pleasure to share some of my stories and knowledge, so far.”
While Alice is distracted, Dorothy tries her best to answer things despite her limited experience. “Well, while me ‘n Alice were traveling to uncover an ancient statue up in the icy, cold part of the Digital World, one of our friends was also there when we arrived at our destination, but kinda... Different. Her partner ‘n her had merged together into a single Digimon... Rasielmon or somethin’. It’s been a while, lemme think...” The witch takes off her red hat and holds it in her hands while gently ruffling her own hair for a moment. Her eyes briefly light up as if she’s a bit excited as she speaks up again. “It was like they were one person, ‘n yet not. Capable of hearing each others’ thoughts ‘n stuff. Well, that and the injuries both of ‘em sustained kinda evened out from being lethal to being crippling. And even beaten up ‘n battered to that point, the level of power radiating off of ‘em was incredible. You could tell that at full strength, they woulda been nearly invincible.”

Littorio quirked an eyebrow up at the arrival of this new creature. The armoured form of a digimon was juxtaposed by the labcoat they wore which, to Littorio anyway, was an amusing combination of visual styles. Being the polite lady she was, the Italian remained silent allowing these two comrades to exchange their pleasantries. It was only when the focus was brought back to her business here that Littorio spoke up.
“Hello. My name is Littorio and this is my partner but yes, Alice is correct. My Digivice didn’t exactly come with a guidebook on these topics.” Littorio rested a gentle hand upon the head of her partner, stroking it affectionately in a cat like manner. The pitch black dinosaur seemed to be pouting ever so slightly, attempting to hide their childlike irritation at being treated like a house cat.
“...Hmmm….an interesting story. You wouldn’t happen to have the contact details of this friend of your’s would you? I’d oh so very adore having a...mutual friend.” For one tenth of a second there flashed a oh so very unusual expression on Littorio’s face. It was a combination of excitement, satisfaction and some third emotion perhaps a little bit too risque for polite company. However whatever this expression was it slipped away as quickly as it came.

"Ahh, Haru... A very complicated subject. She's... A Digimon now. And fairly elusive, as well..." Alice lowers her head slightly, knowing that there's no easy way to explain this. "It's a long story and I don't know all the details, but needless to say she won't be biomerging again any time soon." No longer comfortable about the subject, she decides to think of a way to salvage the conversation. Something, anything...
Instead, it's Dorothy who brings it up, a bit of a shock to the green haired woman. "So, uhh... Yeah, it's fully possible that Digimon 'n humans are closer than we think. Has to be some kinda connection..." Still holding her hat in her hands, she speaks with a slight frown, recalling some of her own experiences. "I go off without Alice here sometimes with a Holosuit on, and I can tell that there... Really ain't that much of a difference in how we think 'n feel."
"...That said, perhaps one day you'll be strong enough to Biomerge. Heck, maybe me and Dorothy will do it eventually, when the time calls for such a thing." Alice joins back in on the conversation, trying to smile. "Even if I'd rather witness someone else doing so, I'd be able to actually research it..." Alice isn't sure whether she imagined that odd expression on Littorio's face or not, assuming it to simply be a sign of excitement.

The QueenChessmon's lips curled into a subtle smile at Alice's words. "Yes, indeed, I used to be a Calcumon. But it would seem that, with the help of a friend, I managed to harness my desire to protect my library into enough strength to Digivolve. I am currently training to keep this form indefinitely. Having fingers and arms certainly helps with my line of work." She chuckled, and then bowed at Littorio. "Always a pleasure to meet friends of members, especially those with a thirst for knowledge. I would be most delighted to help you out. Follow me, I shall open the knowledge data base to you." With that, she turned around, and began to walk off.

“...She’s a digimon now? A human permanently became a Digimon?” That only further stoked Littorio’s desire to find this Haru and extract the information from them. The Italian’s plans for the digital world did rely on her finding a way to undergo this biomerge process after all. She had planned to push Alice for some more information but then Dorothy interrupted, drawing the focus of the conversation onto a decidedly less interesting topic.
“...Holosuit?” That was the only real thing that caught Littorio’s attention. Everything else was either too taboo a topic for her to push for more details on or a mere affirmation of information she had already deduced was the case.
“Hmmm...That would be an interesting experience. If such a thing ever does come to pass I’ll be sure to call on you my dear~” Out of the corner of her eye she watched the Queen Chessmon turn to live, being closely followed by Lavinia.
“Thank you for showing me to your library. I have exhausted the knowledge offered by the Terminus City library.” The pitch black dinosaur kept rather close to Ayumi, taking in the details of the path to the library just in case she ever returned here.
