The night that Touma and Hana had received their Digivices and Digimon partners, they had discovered a function that their Digivices had: a Digiport. A portal of light appeared before the human twins, Gil and Doru inside of the bedroom. Hana looked over at Touma, who was clearly lost by what this was.
"This must be the way to the Digital World... where these Digimon are from."
After hearing this, Touma looked at the portal, then back to his sister. "What do you think? Should we... go through?"
Hana closed her eyes and took a deep breath, purely to calm herself down. "I want answers. And we're already part of this weirdness, so why not, right?"
"I'm not gonna leave your side. I promise."
The siblings smiled at each other. With Touma carrying Gil, and Hana carrying Doru, the twins held hands as they walked through the DigiPort together. Once they disappeared, the portal would disappear as well. When said portal would open again, no one will know... Touma and Hana did not know what to expect when they stepped through the portal, but they certainly were not expecting a city. It was an expansive and very green city, as if it was built with a forest. Many different creatures were walking out and about through the city, each one completely different from the one next to it.
"Holy cow... i-it's a huge forest city!"
"It looks amazing..." It was then that Hana discovered that she was no longer carrying Doru, and Touma was no longer carrying Gil. "Wait, where are Gil and Doru?"
"Down here!"
The twins looked down at their feet to see not the small Digimon that they had come to get familiar with, but now bigger versions of said Digimon, a red dinosaur and a purple fox-like dragon. Now, for a Digimon something like this was completely normal. For two random humans who just discovered all this stuff that afternoon, it was not.
"Oh shit, you got bigger!"
"Is that supposed to happen?!"
This sudden outburst would definitely cause a few passerby's to turn heads towards the group...

Colin James and his twin partners Luke the Elecmon and Bellamy the Impmon were taking a leisurely stroll through Rosewood City, appreciating all the work that had been put into this marvellous civilization. Colin for one appreciated how grateful the digimon were for all the human assistance involved. Even if much of it was provided by teenagers that had their biggest qualifications in city-building in playing Sim City, they at least had enough civic duty to help these young digimon make a civilization for themselves in this forest. Seeing that all this had flourished into a city meanwhile, it was something of an incredible feeling.
Colin was dressed in his usual outfit - a maroon scarf with a navy blue shirt and black cargo pants. His partners were less fully dressed - Luke wearing a dark blue button-up shirt, and Bellamy wearing a maroon t-shirt, as well as their scarves and other usual accoutrements. Still, even though Luke had mostly red fur and Bellamy mostly purple, it was plain to see that their abdominal fur was white. While usual for an Elecmon, it was unusual for an Impmon. But still, Bellamy seemed to be proud of it.
"So, guys, what should we get up to today here that'll satisfy our recon mission for Sophie?" Colin asked his partners, referring to his big sister.
"Nice box of chocolates usually puts her in the mood to just wave us through." Bellamy answered, shrugging. Luke glanced suspiciously at his brother for a moment, but decided not to take him up on that. Still, the Elecmon wanted to make sure that the usual thing was happening in Rosewood, that nothing corrupt or malicious was taking root.
"We're just here to take a look, is all. Just keep an eye out for anything, I'll write a report up, and that'll be all we need to do for the day." Luke replied.
"Sounds neat then." Bellamy shrugged, satisfied, then continued walking along, muttering a parody of Despacito that he wanted to record later, coming up with rude words to use instead of the original lyrics. Colin heard a few of them and chuckled.
Then they saw two humans appear through a portal. Along with a Guilmon and a Dorumon. Neither of Colin, Luke or Bellamy knew how to react to this at first, but Colin was the first to do so.
"Ah, heya, seems you guys found a way to this world, eh?" he asked, keeping a calm and measured demeanor as he approached them. "Well, welcome to the digital world. This is the home of digimon, which I see you've become partners to. I have them as well."
"Fresh meeeat..." Bellamy hissed, then guffawed and waved a paw to indicate he was just joking. "Heya! Welcome, nobody's gonna hurt any of ya here."
"I'm afraid that 'tact' isn't in my brother's vocabulary." Luke said, in a polite, simple voice. "But, this is the digital world, as mentioned. My name is Luke, this is my brother Bellamy, and my human partner Colin."
Colin meanwhile was looking between the twins curiously, quickly coming to a conclusion. "I think I've seen you two somewhere in Shibuya High." he admitted. "We're probably a year or two apart, but, I think I've seen you around before."
"Oh cool, so does that mean we can start the digimon club?" Bellamy asked, eagerly.
"Sure, if you want DATS to come down on us harder than a rock crusher." Luke retorted. He then sighed before turning to the new arrivals. "While it is nice to meet you, you've arrived at a little complicated moment in the digital world. Say, would you like us to fill you in? I know the digimon that runs the inn nearby and we're pretty cool. We could have a snack and a drink if that's alright with you."

The group overheard someone say hello to them while they attempted to get their bearings in order. They turned around to see a human around their age with two other... Digimon, there names were?... with him. One had red fur and was almost like a rabbit, with a purple scarf and blue shirt, and the other... well, the other didn't look like much of anything at all, except maybe a cat, and it wore a red scarf with a maroon shirt.
Before either Touma or Hana could even get a word out, Gil had taken one look at Colin before perking up, his tail wagging back and forth. "A new human! Four humans all in one day!" Gil would then start running right towards Colin like a dog would run towards a human, with the jumping and everything.
Except that Gil is quite a bit heavier than a dog.
"WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA!" Touma yelled, jumping on top of Gil to try and hold him down, which somehow ended up working even if it looked anything but graceful. "Bad idea, Gil, you'll end up killing him."
"Sorry, Touma..."
"We're sorry about that," Hana would apologize as she and Doru walked up, "We don't know what we're doing, honestly... Colin, Luke and Bellamy, right? I'm Hana and that's my brother Touma."
"'Sup?"
"My name's Gil!"
"And mine is Doru. We're brothers as well." Colin and the twins would note that Doru did not sound anything like Gil at all. Doru had a more calm, sarcastic and snobby way of speaking compared to Gil's hyper-active energy drink sugar rush talk.
Colin mentioned seeing the twins around Shibuya High, and Touma began to see it as well. "Oh yeah, I've seen you around. We have a class together, Drama with Nawabe-Sensei. Plus you always have those weird twins with you as well- OW!"
"You don't just call others' friends weird, you dumbass!" Hana yelled at her brother after hitting him in the back of the head. "Sorry, Colin. He's... dumb."
Even after that, the three of them had offered to take them to a nearby inn for a snack and a drink. A grumbling noise could then be heard, and Gil and Doru both held their stomachs. "So hungry..."
"Didn't you two eat a couple hours ago, though? And I though I had a big appetite..."
"If you truly don't mind then we'll come along. We have no idea what the Digital World is like, and I don't think our money will be accepted here to get food."

It was probably instinct that made Luke and Bellamy quickly move to interpose themselves in front of Colin as Gil rushed toward him. They guessed he probably meant no harm, but they had to make sure, just in case. Thankfully this was averted when Gil's partner held him back.
The two humans then introduced themselves as Hana and Touma. Now that they mentioned their names, Colin recognized them better as students of his school, he had indeed seen them around before.
And the two digimon introduced themselves as Gil and Doru, and were apparently twin brothers like Luke and Bellamy were. Luke raised an eyebrow with interest, his blue eyes shooting between them to try and figure out similarities between them, like he had with his own brother. After all, Bellamy was a furry Impmon, and for an Elecmon, Luke was rather tall and shared the same sense of fashion for neckscarves.
Colin looked at Touma as he mentioned Nawabe-sensei. "Ahh, right, I think I know where I've met you now." he said. While flinching at the hit, he smiled and shook his head. "That's okay. Those twins that hang out with me? That's these guys. They wear holosuits to disguise themselves as humans. It's pretty useful to keep them both hidden and being right next to me in case something bad happens."
"Indeed... attending human school for 3 years has been... really interesting." Luke remarked. He had learned much there, and rather appreciated it. Bellamy meanwhile usually slacked off in class and just attended for the social activity. However, Bellamy tended to be charismatic when he put his mind to it, and had helped in his own way.
Thankfully the twins they had just met had accepted Luke's invitation, so it was off to one of the numerous cafe's that now served the centre of Rosewood City. Bellamy led them toward one that he thought was a good deal, or more accurately, one where one of his acquaintances was employed and knew a quiet corner that they could chat in.
"Ah, that's fine. When you come to the digital world first up, your yen can be accepted instead of bits." Luke explained to Hana. "That's the currency of the digital world by the way, bits. It's about the same as yen, so it's fairly simple to work out the value of things."
Before long, Colin and the twins would lead them to the cafe that was in mind, secure a quiet table, and look at a menu.
"I might have a thickshake." Colin said after a few moments.
"Colin, it's the middle of winter." Luke said, hoping to advise him out of it.
"Luke, I'm from Nebraska, I'm used to worse than this." Colin informed his partner. Rosewood in winter was a place rarely below freezing. Plus he rather felt he wanted such a beverage like that today.
"Well, okay then, I'll have a chicken and avocado foccacia." Luke said, shrugging.
"I feel like a burger." Bellamy added. They then awaited what the others would order. Colin was happy to pay, providing they weren't too extravagant.

"Gil's normally friendly," Touma explained to the two twin Digimon as he held the Guilmon back, "he just gets a bit over-excited when he's meeting someone new. It's way cuter when he's small."
When Luke looked for the similarities between Gil and Doru, there honestly wouldn't be much. They were the same height and had the same eye color, they both could either stand upward or could hunch their backs, and their bellies were both white, but not much else.
Colin mentioned that the twins he hung out with at school were Luke and Bellamy. Touma's eyes widened with both shock and guilt. In probably the most over-dramatic fashion possible, he got onto his knees and started bowing, begging for forgiveness. "I'm sorry! I wouldn't have said that if I had known! Please forgive my rudeness!"
"Get up Touma, you're embarrassing yourself," Hana said sternly. She looked towards Colin. "Just don't mind him, he's an idiot who also decided to be an actor."
"So his lack of intelligence is replaced with an over-extravagant act? Sounds like a bizarre trade-off to me."
"That's what makes Touma fun! He's nice too, at least!"
"True, he isn't insufferable... yet."
The group headed on over to a cafe somewhere in the center of Rosewood. Luke explained to Hana that yen would be accepted by first-time Digital World travelers. That was a relief to Hana. "That's good, didn't feel right having to mooch off of you... bits, huh? Can yen be converted into bits, by any chance?"
As they looked at the menus, the Kimuras looked at Colin with a weird look as he mentioned ordering a shake. "In the wintertime? Alright then... do they have ramen on here? I'll take a simple bowl of ramen."
"I want a dish of takoyaki!"
"So much good foodstuffs! I waaaaaaaant... hmmmm..." Indecision reigned supreme in Gil's mind.
"I will be getting an 'omurice.' Why don't you order one as well, Gil, if you cannot decide?"
"Hey, good idea! I'll take an omurice as well!"
