It was late in the evening as the group walked through the Server Woods. Thin orange droplets of the setting sun could be seen piecing through the canopy above them. While normally the group would have been able to fly towards straight towards their destination, the trees all around them made that pretty difficult and risky. Pure preferred it this way anyways. He'd take the slow and safe route over the fast and deadly route any day. Besides, he was still recovering from the thier last flight.
Pure took a quick glance back at Sanoske while he walked. He had to admit, he had grown a bit more accustomed to the large Gazimon's presence over the past few days they've been travelling together. While he still doesn't trust Sanoske completely, but he did find comfort that digimon were less likely to attack the two while they were traveling with him. Yet Pure still felt like Sanoske was being a little to friendly to his sister. There was obviously something up, but Pure just couldn't quite put his finger on it.
"Okay, I believe this is a good place to stop for today." Pure announced to the others as they reached a small clearing, "It's going to be dark soon, so Crys, do you think you can handle getting a campfire ready while I go see if I can get us some food."
"Sure, I can handle that. But what about Sanoske though. Don't you need any help collecting food?" Asked Crystal.
Pure looked over at Sanoske before sighing, "Sanoske, could you keep an eye out on Crys for me while I'm gone? I'd feel better knowing that there's someone keeping an eye out on her just in case." Pure said hesitantly to the Gazimon. He didn't like the idea, but it was better then just leaving Crys all alone.
((Sorry for any minor bunnymoding in this post. I thought it would be best to limit Sanoske's flying during this thread in order to allow H-Pure to slip away more easily when the time comes. If you have any problems with this though, don't hesitate to tell me.))

(((It's fine.)))
This has been a weird few days for the Gazimon. Not because of any event that has happened during the time him and the twins traveled together. But because Sanoske was never largely "aware" this often over this period. Since he is traveling with others, he never loses awareness for hours of a time.
It was nice.
Sanoske was also getting more used to Pure. He didn't mind walking, and Pure was less distrusting of him. In turn, Sanoske gave no snide comments and felt willing to have him around.
He was still a distrusting coward. But at least the first part was becoming less evident. But he had also became friendlier towards Crystal. Indeed, the trip had been an overall a good last few days, forgetting his worries and having someone to talk with. Sanoske was actually happy and content.
This evening, Pure was going off to get food, obviously of the vegitarian kind. Granted Sanoske would eat anything edible (or grass if he was desperate. And he was once that desperate.) But, to Sanoske's surprise, Pure outright stated, even with some hesitation, that Sanoske should watch his sister. Still, he nodded in acknowledgement. "[Yes, I'll keep an eye on Crystal. You be careful out there.]"
----
A distance away, there was a strange Palmon walking through the forest. Of course, it was Vetina, but something was... not right. She felt like someone was watching her for some time. Maybe it was her imagination, but she had a bad feeling...
Oh well, tonight La Luna would be waxing close to full. A great night for Vetina to moon-bathe.

"Yeah, I'll try." Pure told Sanoske before heading into the woods. While Crystal had forgot about this, Pure and her were actually born in this forest. It's one of the reasons why Pure was more comfortable going out on his own then he normally would be. That's not to say he wasn't scared, quite the opposite actually. He just knew where to hide when he need to.
Crystal sighed as she watched her brother walk away from them. "I wish he wouldn't treat me like a child. I can handle myself just fine." Crystal said, obviously slightly annoyed about the matter. She then returned to her usual chipper self as she looked back at Sanoske. "So shall we go get some sticks for the fire?" She asked Sanoske.
A distance away, a shadowy figure observed the strange Palmon from the treetops. He had been following Vetina for awhile, just waiting for the right moment. A noise then caught his attention as he took notice of a small Terriermon walking in the forest. Perfect The figure thought as a smile grew on his face. Everything was lining up perfectly.

"[Sure. Once we get the sticks I can start the fire.]" Sanoske had a grin on his face. The thought of spending time with the Lopmon was pleasing to him. He got up and went looking for nearby sticks. Since it was getting dark, he wouldn't go too far. He didn't want to fuddle around in a dark forest or let the others do as such.
Finding twigs and sticks was a simple matter, though. After he got his bundle he began to set the wood pile up. ---
Vetina stopped and looked around, still unaware of her stalker's presence. But she felt something. It bugged her, and she couldn't brush it aside any longer. She stated loudly to the tops of the trees, hoping that, if someone was watching her, they would reveal themselves.
"I'm in no mindset for voyeurism. If someone's spying, stop it!"

"All right then." Crystal said in a chipper voice before she began looking around for sticks they could use. She seemed very happy-go-lucky as she looked around for sticks. Fortunately, with them being in the middle of the woods, there were alot of sticks around. Yet there was something else she thought of that they probably should collect to.
"Oh... Sanoske, it probably would be best to collect some rocks to surround the campfire. That way we can reduce the chances of us accidentally setting anything else on fire." She told Sanoske as she dropped the sticks she had collected in a small pile in the middle of the clearing.
It seemed that Vetina was aware of his presence. Oh well... It wouldn't be long now before he revealed himself to her. He just needed to get... Dressed up first. He wouldn't be able to last much longer as he is now, but as luck would have it, he already found a candidate that may prove useful.
Pure couldn't believe his luck. He had just found a meat fruit tree out in the middle of these woods. While he wasn't a fan of them himself, he did know his sister use to have taken a liking for the peculiar fruit. He wondered if she would still like them now. Well, at very least, it'd be something different then the usual berries and herbs that Pure managed to forage.
Though the question now was how he was going to get them. They were pretty high up in the tree, and while he could just climb it, he'd prefer not to. Maybe he could use an attack to knock some of them down, though that would likely damage the fruit in the process. He could go back and get Sanoske to help him, but then again, he prefer not to admit defeat to the Gazimon.
As Pure thought about what he should do, he didn't take notice of the figure approaching behind. Not at first, at any rate. The sound of a twig snapping behind him caught his attention, but it was to late. All he saw while he turned around was a large shadow before he felt something painful hit the back of his head. Darkness then began to obscure his vision as he felt his feet give way, causing his body to collapse onto the ground. No... Was his final thought before he fell unconscious.

Sanoske nodded at his next command, finding rocks for the campfire. This would prove only slightly more difficult, but still done quickly. He sat the rocks and pebbles around the woodpile, and once he finished, he used his Hidden Missile attack.
What looked like a hidden latch opening by his feet produced a single missile, which the Gazimon grabbed. Using the flame of the exhaust, he carefully lit the wood on fire before letting the missile harmlessly dissolve into data.
He brushed his hands and had a smile for a job well done. "[Well, what's next Crystal?]" ---
There was no answer, but Vetina felt that feeling fade ever so slightly. That must mean someone was around, right? She had to see what was behind this, almost surprised at herself at her determination. She felt something... more than just a feeling of being watched. She sensed someone, and she wanted to find whoever it was.
She continued on with a faster pace, keeping aware of her surroundings. That feeling was getting stronger up to the point she found a Terriermon.
Vetina had met Pure once before, but did not immediately recognize him, especially considering the last time they met she did not have this feeling either.
"You... you're my stalker? Explain your intentions, else I'll get violent!"

"I don't really know. I guess we should just wait for Pure to come back with some grub." She said as she took a seat by the fire. The warm flame felt comforting compared to the slowly cooling air around it.
"Ohh... I know. Why don't we tell each other stories in order to pass the time? It's what people normally do around a campfire, right?" She then said cheerfully, hoping that Sanoske would agree.
Pure picked himself up off the ground clumsily. Yet something was off about him. He seemed different somehow. Darker even. This wasn't the same Pure that was there just seconds before.
He took a second to examine himself. A smile forming on his face as he saw no unusual markings at all. He then began stretching his arms and legs while his hands. He had to admit, this body felt a bit clumsy, but what did he expect when he took over anothers body. If anything, his plan has so far been a success. He had managed to possess this Terriermon with no sign of mutation whatsoever.
He then heard someone approaching him. While he had his complaints about the ears, he now saw the usefulness of them. The possessed Terriermon turned around to see it was Vetina. This definitely made things easier.
"Well well, long time no see Vetina. How have you been?" Pure said nonchalantly to Vetina. It seemed unusually confident compared to what the Terriermon was usually like. And, while he hadn't noticed it yet, there was a small device lying on the ground right next to him.

Sanoske laid down on all fours, curled up by the fire and taking in the warmth. As his wings covered his body, he had hoped Pure would return soon so he could eat. Then again, Pure was getting food for all of them, Sanoske included. At least, he hoped he was getting food for Sanoske. Sanoske was the largest of the three and ate the most of them because of that. In fact, he could probably eat one of the twins and be satisfied.
Not that he would do that, it was just a thought he would entertain, but for no reason would follow through with.
Crystal had decided that, to pass the time, they should tell each other stories. "Garoo?" He growled out, wondering if he could even remember any appropriate story correctly. Most of the stories he knew of were stuff his maker knew.
"[A story? Well, okay. I'll try... memory is kind of foggy with this one.
There was a group of three Sistermons who lived in a house in a forest... no, wait... three Bearmons. I think it was Bearmons. A mother, father, and son. One day they left out to go somewhere and do... something. Then came a young witchmon who broke into their house... I dunno why. She was hungry and ate some of the beef stew the bears had left on the table. The first was too hot, the second was too cold, the third was just right.
I'm not entirely sure I am telling this story correctly...]"
Vetina looked quizzically at Pure, tilting her head, but was no less suspicious of him. She finally "recognized" him as Pure, but he was acting quite different. This wasn't the timid Terriermon from before, and he never gave this odd feeling before.
"This is a queer feeling...what's going on? You're connotated as Pure, correct? But denotation seems... anything but."
The Palmon paid little mind to the device, but was very suspicious of the rabbit digimon.
"Expound your location's purpose. Are you stalking me? Where is Crystal?"

Crystal listened as Sanoske attempted to tell her a story, but he seemed to not be able to tell the story quite right. Crystal had recognize the story he was telling from a book she read back in Terminus. Yet the question now was if she should help him our, or just let him finish.
"Don't worry Sanoske, your doing just fine. So please continue." She told him with a smile as she decided to just let him tell the story. It would be rude if she just continued the story just because he was having trouble telling it, and she didn't want to hurt his feelings.
Well this just proved to be more interesting. It seemed Vetina had recognized this Terriermon and his name was Pure. Even more interesting was who this Crystal person was. A tamer or a loved one perhaps. Either way, it was definitely something he could use to his advantage.
This made him now wonder what else Vetina knew about Pure. Any information about this Terriermon would definitely prove useful for his plans. So for now, he decided to try and play the part to see what Vetina knew.
"Stalking you? I don't know what your talking about. I'm just trying to get some fruit for me and Crystal." He said innocently in an attempt to trick Vetina into believing that he was Pure.

Sanoske, after some hesitation, continued with the story.
"[Well... after the Witchmon had ate someone else's food... umm... I think she decided to just sleep there. Kind of silly but, anyway she tried out the three beds. One was too hard... one was too soft... one was just right. So she slept in that bed. However the Bearmon family returned. They saw the Witchmon and ate her, I think. Then they saw that their stew was tampered with.
Or was that the other way around?
I don't know. I think that was the end of the story. Sorry, I don't know any good stories.]"
Vetina seemed more uncertain now... it was a likely story (and unknown to either digimon quite close to the truth), but something just wouldn't let her believe it.
The Palmon took a few steps closer, taking up a defensive position. That feeling was getting stronger... and there was something else wrong... Pure himself. Her gaze went towards the device, which she didn't outright recognize, so she looked back at the Terriermon.
"You're not Pure, aren't you? No, pieces aren't fitting. The board is wrong. Even if I'm wrong... my gut feeling is warning of shenanigans. Unless I get answers, I'll beat you til satisfaction..."
Her fists were clenched, angered.

"It's okay Sanoske." Crystal said before thinking about a story she should tell. Maybe another one from that book would be okay, but which one. "Ohh... I think I know a good story you might enjoy." She said as she moved around a bit to get more comfortable.
"Okay, let's see. How did it go again. Ohh... That's right.
So a young Lopmon wearing a red cloak was skipping through the forest to her grandma's house. On her way, a Dracmon took notice of her and decided to ask her where she was going. 'I'm heading to my grandma's house to give her these cookies.' She told the Dracmon innocently, showing the digimon the basket she had with her. This gave the Dracmon an evil idea as the Lopmon continued on her way.
He took a shortcut through the forest to the grandma's house and broke in. He then devoured the grandma whole before putting on her clothes. A knock on the door then alerted him that the Lopmon was here. So he climbed into the grandmother's bed and told the Lopmon to come in. The Lopmon did as he asked, and greeted her 'grandmother' with a cheerful hello before noticing something was off.
'Grandmother, why do you have such big eyes?' She asked the imposter
'To better see you my dear.' The Dracmon responded.
'Grandmother, why do you have such big hands?'
'To better hug you with my dear.'
'But Grandmother, why do you have such better teeth?'
'To better eat you with.' And before the Lopmon could do anything else, he ate her.
Luckily for her though, a Gazimon lumberjack was nearby and saw what had happened. He burst into the grandmother's house, and with his sharp claws, cut open the Dracmon's stomach. Because of this, he managed to save the Lopmon and her grandmother and they all live happily ever after.
The End.
So what do you think?" She then asked once she was finished telling the story. She admittedly changed some details about who some of the characters were, but she thought Sanoske would enjoy these changes. At least, she hoped he did.
It seemed that Vetina had figured out he was who he said he was. Oh well... While he could keep up with this facade for a little while longer, he saw little point to. He got more then what he expected to get, making his task much more easier. He also took notice that Vetina had gazed at something on the ground. Taking a quick glance himself, he noticed that it was the device he had with him in order to help keep his form here, guessing that he probably dropped it when he took over the Terriermon's body.
"I should of known you would have saw right though that. Oh well... Can't blame me for trying." He said very nonchalantly as he went and picked up the device, "I gotta thank you though. You made things a lot easier for me Vetina." As he finished, he looked back at the Palmon with a malevolent smile. It was obvious that he wasn't afraid of her, or at least, was very good at acting like he wasn't.

As Crystal told her own story, Sanoske listened intently, keeping his eyes on her and giving her his full attention. The "changes" she made went over his head, not actually knowing, or remembering, this particular story. But it did seem convenient that the story includes a Lopmon and Gazimon. He figured that was the reason she told the story in the first place.
Once she finished, he smiled, clapping a bit. "[Well, you're better at story telling than I am. Great work, Crystal. But it is kinda funny the story involved someone dressing up like a female just to eat. Heh heh, I guess if I was in that situation I wouldn't dress up as a female just to trick someone..."
Vetina glared angrily at the Terriermon as he dropped his act. Indeed, this was not Pure, but someone who, Vetina assumed, had his form. She may have not known Pure for long, but she knew that if this was really him, he would act far more timid. She didn't know him to outright be the coward he was but "Pure" certainly was now far more willing to engage her in conversation. And that feeling she was getting... it infuriated her as she wondered why she was feeling it. It wasn't familiar, but it felt like it caused some... negative feelings in her. That was most of all she could think about. That feeling. That terrible feeling meant something!
No matter, she took up a full fighting stance, irritated. "So it was a facade... What's this trickery for? What's this... feeling I'm receiving from you!? Answer me!!"
She ran up to him to try to grab him by his neck. No, no more tricks. She was in no mood to be fooled, no mood to play around. She wanted her answers, and even if this was Pure, she would not be above beating him up at all.

Crystal shrugged. "To tell the truth, I never really understood that part of the story too. It just seemed to be such a weird plan. Why couldn't he just eat the girl when he first met her, then go to the grandmother's house to eat her? I guess he just wanted to cross dress or something like that." She shared with Sanoske.
She then noticed that it has been awhile since Pure went out to fetch them food. She hoped everything was alright, but didn't see any reason to worry just yet. He'd probably was just having a hard time getting food for all of them. She just needed to wait and see. He'll be back any minute now.
"Hey Sanoske, it's been awhile. You think Pure is okay, right?" She asked the Gazimon, hoping he would help her be rid of her worry.
Pure's body jumped away from Vetina as she tried to grab his neck. She was being ruthless. It almost seemed like she didn't care for Pure's well being at all. This impressed the Hylden. He never expected her to act quite like this.
"The trickery was more or less a test to see if this body was able to mask my Hylden. One that ended in failure it seems, but it's of little consequence." He explained willingly as he put the device on his wrist. It was nice to see that it was able to fit him even in this form.
"Also, you might wish to hesitate from trying to injure me. Pure is a friend of yours I assume, and as you may of guess, any attempt to hurt me will hurt him as well." He told her wanting to see what she would do. Was her anger against the Hylden enough to attempt to attack him again, even with the confirmation that she would be hurting Pure as well.

Sanoske chuckled again and sat up, still on all fours, as if he was a dog. "[You know, I guess they are are just silly little, nonsensical stories. Nothing to think too deeply on, so I guess we'll just leave that alone.]"
Crystal was now getting concerned over how long it took for Pure to return. He was as well, but he was chalking it up to pointless worry. "[Well, I think he's getting food for me, and I do eat more than you guys. We probably should have went with him to make sure he could reach the fruit. If he's still not back in a few, I'll see if he needs any help. Or at least see if he would accept my help.]"
Sanoske also thought that if Pure was in trouble, he'll be heard. He would run through the forest back to here and cower behind a rock or something. But out of respect, Sanoske said nothing like that.
Pure dodged the grab easily, but Vetina was no less determined. However, the next words that came out of his mouth were of greater concern.
"What's this Hylden talk? And why would harm on you equal harm on Pure!? What is that item!? Stringing me around is not a safe thing to practice in your situation!"
Vetina had momentarily assumed that this "Pure" was a lookalike. But this implication now was that... was Pure not in control of his own body? How was that possible? And this Hylden... she had heard of the name once before, but she could not think of where. This was all so confusing to the angered Palmon, and being toyed with just ticked her off.
However, were this almost any other situation, Vetina would be laughing. He thought Pure was her friend. She barely knew him and, honestly, did not have enough respect for him to not rough him up. But looking at this guy, he seemed to be using the Terriermon as some meat shield for... some reason.
So, for the sake of answers, she decided to play along with the idea that Pure was her 'friend'. She stood upright in a nonaggressive pose, yet still had an angered look in her eyes. "I'll hazardly hypothesize that part of this solution... you've some interest in me. Why? Was Pure important? Or a coincidence?"

"Yeah, we probably should have. And knowing my brother, he would probably run back here screaming if he was in any real danger. So I guess there's no reason to worry right now." Crystal said with a sigh as she looked back towards the woods. It did make her happy to know that Sanoske thought of the same reason she did about why Pure wasn't back yet, though that didn't mean that she was still worried.
She looked back at Sanoske as she gave a tired yawn. She hated to admit, but after the long day of walking, she felt like she could really use some rest right now. Yet, with her brother currently missing, she didn't feel right falling asleep. "Uhh... Sanoske. Do you mind if I lean against you for a little while as we wait for Pure?" Crystal asked, hoping that this way if she did happen to fall asleep, the Sanoske would be able to easily wake her.
"Oh... I'm afraid I probably said more then I should have. Just think of what I did say as a gift for sharing some information about Pure." He then paused as if to think on something before continuing, "Actually, you know what. Just for you, I'll tell you this. Your the reason why I'm in this Terriermon's body now. That's why I'm so interested in you. I wanted to thank you for this." He said as he gestured at his body, "And this."
A malicious smile formed on his face as he said those final words. With a simple press of a button, he activated the device on his wrist. While he had been able to possess this body with little to no side effects so far, he needed the current data he can extract from Vetina in order to perfect it. It was a shame he had to do this to the Palmon, but no cost was to great in the name of progress.
