Sanoske smirked as Crystal commented on Pure screaming and running away. It wasn't even meant to be insulting, either. It was the thought of Crystal saying what Sanoske held his tongue for for her sake. He didn't want to worry her, but it seemed she didn't mind too much the very thought. Still, it might have helped that he didn't say it. He wouldn't know, and he would not bother figuring it all out.
He was getting comfy in his spot he laid in when Crystal yawned. She asked to lean against him, surprising him a bit. But it was not at all an unpleasant act to him, as he used one of his wings to beckon the Lopmon over to him. "[Alright. Don't get too comfy. Pure might be insulted to see that he took so long that you fell asleep.]"
That said, even Sanoske was getting worried.
"Pure" stated that it was all because of Vetina that he was able to take this body. Did he truly figure out how to do so because of her own ability to body snatch digimon? Did anyone else know? The Palmon tensed up seeing the Terriermon reach for a button on the device. And then it hit her...
The device created waves, invisible in sight, but had a specific purpose. These waves would allow the device to extract data from Vetina. It would not work on normal digimon, but Vetina was not normal.
This had the effect of causing tremendous pain onto Vetina's body. Once the waves hit, she seized up, clutching her head. Her body was wracked with pain, but her head was in the most pain. This was no simple headache, it was like her brain was being stabbed, and each thrust was coupled with a blade turn. Vetina was paralyzed with agony. This would kill her if this continued.
But the worst part was that this was a familiar pain.
Vetina did not have the original's memories, but this body remembered it. And "Jacob" has seen the original go through this exact pain before. Seeing Vetina in such pain lead him to mercy kill her. And that lead to a... mixed bag of a series of events.
"It was... you...."
Was this the cause of the original's pain? Was this "Hylden" digimon the reason she went through what she did? Even if it wasn't "Pure", it was probably someone related. It had to be.
Her vision was blurred, her eyes were teary, and her body felt like it was being torn apart, but she got up, stumbling over to the Terriermon.
"I'll... I'll KILL YOU... I'LL KILL YOU!!!"

"I'll try." She said as she lazily moved over to where Sanoske sat and leaned her head against him. It was kindof weird. Almost as if she was leaning her head against a large stuff animal. "I'm sorry. I guess the days events are beginning to get to me. I sure do hope Pure gets back here soon."
"Kill me? How exactly are you going to do that when you can barely stand?" The possessed Terriermon taunted. While this was amusing, he knew he had to be careful. She was unstable, and could possibly do him severe harm if he allows her to. Besides, he got what he needed, so there's no reason to stay here any longer.
"Sorry, but I'm going to have to leave you like this. It's nothing personal. I just have a whole new world to go and see." He told Vetina as he began walking away from her. He had no doubt that she would attempt to follow, and if she did, he already had a plan in mind.

Never had Vetina had such rage against anyone or anything. She was outright livid! When she killed the original Vetina, it was the worst, most traumatic event of his/her life. So much so that Jacob became a new Vetina. Sure, it wasn't exactly "sane", but he loved her so much he would rather be her than to be without.
But what wouldn't Vetina give to have those old days back. To erase having to put the original out of her misery.
Vetina's body began to glow a pale green, and her form shifted. While she could not reach Ultimate in this state, her VileSunflowmon form would have to do. And even that took far more effort and agony than it would under normal cconditions.
"...don't... need to stand..."
Her face began to glow, charging up her beam attack. Quickly, she fired directly at Pure... or at least tried. Given her condition and her visions, the beam tore through the ground, but missed the Terriermon by a wide margin.
The pain didn't allow her to think straight. She had to murder Pure under any circumstance!
The Gazimon smiled, seeing Crystal get comfy on him. She was tired, and still worried about Pure.!ňe took a clawed hand and gently rubbed her head to console her fears. "[Crystal, it'll be okay. What's the worst that could...]"
There was a faint sound, and a distant light, from where Pure headed! Sanoske got up, growling, and now quite concerned. "[I'm sure you heard something. I need to go check it out!]"

Vetina was able to digivolve in her condition. Well this was an unexpected event. She was recovering faster then he originally expected. At least Vetina was currently unable to aim, but at this rate it won't matter much. He cannot risk her ruining this experiment.
Pure began running as fast as he could towards the nearby clearing. Judging from the faint outline of smoke he can see in the sky, there was someone in that clearing. The possessed Pure had reason to believe that it was most likely this Crystal person who Vetina mentioned. If so, he highly doubted that they would just sit by while 'Pure' was being attacked. And in the case that he was wrong, who ever made that campfire would still make for a good distraction.
Crystal's eyes widened as she heard the noise in the distant. "Pure!" She immediately called out as she began to run in that direction. Something was definitely wrong now. There was no use denying it. Pure was likely in mortal danger right this second, if he wasn't already...
No, she can't think like that. He is alright. She knows he is. As long as they are able to reach him in time, everything will be alright.

The digivolution had put some additional strain on her body. Recovery from this condition would not be quick, especially not with the VileSunflowmon pushing herself like this. The pain was, however, slowly subsiding, but it was being replaced with soreness and dizziness. At least her vision was slowly coming back as she stumbled towards her enemy, unable to fly at the moment.
Sanoske ran ahead of Crystal, also fearing Pure's saftey. He had no doubt Pure was involved seeing as he figured this may be the reason why he was taking so long. Hurrying to the source of the disturbance, he eventually saw "Pure". And behind him... an oddly dressed wild plant digimon one whom was charging another beam. The Gazimon ran passed Pure, then stood behind him.
"[I'll stop this digimon. You find somewhere safe, Pure!]"

"Don't worry Pure. We'll handle this. Just go find someplace to hide." Crystal said, happy to see that Pure was currently unharmed. She then stood right next to the Gazimon, facing this strangely dressed plant digimon. This digimon was going to pay for trying to harm her brother.
It seemed that he was correct in that Pure had allies closeby. He didn't knew for sure if either of these digimon were Crystal, but they did seem to be friends with Pure. More then willing to come to his aid as soon as they notice something was wrong. Despite some small bumps in his plan, everything was going his way.
While he knew he should run, he wanted to at least see how this fight will go. So he continued to run past the two digimon and climbed a nearby tree he could hid in. Here he could watch the fight unseen, and once the fight seemed to be coming to a close, he'll just slip away unseen. Now if only he had some popcorn on him.

With clearing vision, Vetina fired another beam, this time at Sanoske. However, the Gazimon blocked it with his wings, protecting himself and Crystal.
"Don't stand... IN MY WAY!!!"
The sunflower digimon launched herself forwars, ready to pummel her new opponent with thorny arms. But Sanoske counted with his Solid Flash, creating a sphere of energy that caught Vetina's arm before popping, sending her sprawling backwards. Given the pain she had just received, a hurt wrist meant nothing. She got on all fours as she tried to get up, her posture almost looking beastlike as she looked and finally saw Crystal.
"You? You're an accessory too? I'LL GET YOU ALL!!!"
"[You'll only get me!!!]" Sanoske roared as he charged in. He did not want any aid from the Lopmon, wishing to drive her off himself (although not recognizing that Vetina knew Crystal). The two would start to trade blows, Sanoske having the clear advantage, but Vetina was determined not to fail.

As Vetina fired another blast, Crystal moved to dodge. However, it seemed as if had used his wings to block the attack. "Sanoske, are you alright?" She asked the Gazimon worringly.
The Gazimon seemed fine however as he managed to counter the twisted sunflower digimon's atttack with one of his own. This had managed to knock the enemy back. Then when the sunflower digimon got on all fours almost like a beast, she looked at Crystal and sprouted some kind of nonsense of her being an accessory too. Crystal didn't knew what she meant by this, but for some weird reason, she could recognize the voice. But from where?
She didn't give it much thought as she saw Sanoske and Vetina beginning to trade blows. This gave her an opportunity to flank the Vetina while she was distracted, and get in an attack herself. "Blazing Ice" She called out as a stream of frozen pellets fired out of her mouth towards Vetina's back.
'Pure' watched the fight from his vantage point, amused by what's going on. This is the first time he actually seen Vetina fight before, and she was being ferocious. Yet her opponents didn't seem to be any slouches either. They seemed to be able to do quite well against the plant digimon. Hopefully they won't end up killing her. That'll just be a shame.
'Pure' then eyeballed the brown Lopmon. If he had to guess, she was the Crystal Vetina was talking about earlier. That meant that she was probably either a sibling or a lover, though his guess was on the former. It didn't matter either way though, he had his incentive now.

Sanoske fired a few Hidden Missiles towards Vetina, causing her to go in a defensive position. This was more painful than before, but still she stood her ground. It didn't dawn on her that something was wrong with Pure not attacking as well. They all just figured Pure was being protected.
In her distraction, Vetina felt a sharp, cold feeling on her back, thanks to Crystal's Blazing Ice. With a hiss, the VileSunflowmon bent backwards to strike the Lopmon. However, this attack would also miss. The very act of bending backwards sent sharp pains in her spine, causing her to whiff and wince.
For a moment, she realized her body was failing her. She needed rest. But such thoughts were pushed aside.
She rolled to the side and fired a stream of pollen all around to effect Sanoske and Crystal. While this would have no poison effects, it would make breathing a problem.
She took a moment to search out for Pure, and sensing him, she jumped towards him... only to be blocked by Sanoske. He shoved her back down to the ground with tremendous force (all the while holding his breath), causing Vetina to hit the ground head first, and tumbled back further a few more yards.
She squirmed, grinded her feet and tail against the ground as she clutched her flowery head. The headache returning was unbearable, crying out in pain, and losing her concentration. Her body glown again, shrinking back down to her Palmon form.
Before checking on Vetina, though, Sanoske fanned away the pollen with his large wings. "[Crystal? Crystal, where are you?]"

Crystal dodged to the side as she saw Vetina try to attack her. It turned out that this wasn't needed as Vetina's attack completely missed. It seemed like bending backwards like that wasn't exactly a good idea. But Crystal couldn't help, but think that there was some other reason why Vetina's attack was so inaccurate.
She didn't have much time to think about it however as Vetina fired a stream of pollen all around. Seeing no way to get out of the way of the attack, Crystal quickly crouched down and used one of her ears to cover her mouth and nose. There was no telling what these spore do, but seeing how most spore attacks required to be breathed in in order to take effect, she knew her best chance would be to prevent herself from breathing any of them at all. Yet this meant she wouldn't be able to do much while in this spore cloud. So she needed to get out of it as soon as possible.
As 'Pure' continued to watch the fight, it became obvious to him who was going to win. That, along with the close call he had, told him that it was time for him to take his leave. It did sadden him to know that Vetina would lose. Though in the end he guessed that the odds were stacked against her this whole time. Not only was she fighting two against one, but she was already in a weakened state. This just goes to prove that pure determination.
'Pure' reflected on this as he quickly took his leave. It wouldn't be long now before the real Pure begins to regain consciousness, and he needed to be prepared. With the info that Vetina had let slip, he already had all that he needed to subjugate his will on Pure. He even over heard Sanoske call out Crystal's name, confirming the Lopmon's identity. This will be key to preventing any resistance from Pure whatsoever.
As the pollen was fanned away, Crystal heard Sanoske calling out for her. "I'm alright. I'm right over here." She said as she went over to where Sanoske was.
When she took a look at the defeated digimon, she was honestly shocked. She recognize the Palmon, and knew why she recognized the voice too. "Vetina..." Crystal said under her breath as she recalled her name. This Palmon was an unusual digimon she and Pure met back in Whitewater a day or two after she had lost her memory. But if memory served, she was a fairly friendly digimon back then. So what was she doing here, and why did she attack Pure?
"Hey Pure. Do you see this?" She called out to her brother, yet there was no reply, "Pure. It's okay to get out of hiding now. She won't be able to do much in this state." She waited a bit longer, but there was still no reply, "Pure?"

Vetina's condition was catching up to her. The dull pain of her head, the sore ache of her entire body, her dizziness... she was, indeed defeated. But she was able to feel Pure's presence fade away. He was gone, and so were his answers, and her revenge.
While Crystal searched for her brother, Sanoske had went over to the worn Vetina, standing over her threateningly with a clawed paw to her neck. As he growled at her, Vetina closed her eyes and sighed. Yes, she was pretty much a gonner.
Sanoske growled again, and Vetina kept her eyes closed. He realized now that Vetina did not understand him asking why she attacked Pure. Vetina may have been part Gabumon, but she was still Palmon enough to be unable to interpret what Sanoske is saying. So he spoke plainly.
"Wrrhy... did you... attack Puure?"
Looking beyond the obvious effort he put in just to even speak, Vetina opened her eyes, back to the Gazimon looming over her.
"Such is my acts of foolishness..." Vetina now realized what happened. He had used their battle to escape. Of course they had no idea that Pure wasn't Pure. To them, she was attacking his friend, and Crystal's brother.
"He's Pure... in the frame. But not in the mind. You just saved the one to be ejected from the controls.
My apologies, Crystal... Pure is muddled, mired under someone's will."

"Pure. I'm starting to worry. Could you at least say something to show me that your okay?" Crystal called out, obviously worried. Something was definitely wrong. While Pure may be a coward, but he would have shown himself by now. At the very least, he would of said something to show that he was okay.
Does that mean that he's... No no. She couldn't think like that. Maybe he just fell unconscious where he went to hide. Yet she knew that was just wishful thinking.
So what did that leave. Is it possible that Vetina managed to do something to him while she was attacking him? Or is it possible that another digimon got to him? All she knew for sure was that something happened that was causing him to not respond to her calls.
She looked over at Vetina as Sanoske spoke to her. It took Crystal quite a bit of effort in order to suppress her anger at the plant digimon. What came over the Palmon? What drove her to attack Pure?
She listened as Vetina tried to explain herself. Yet her words just seemed to be utter nonsense. Something about Pure being just a frame, and being controlled by someone else. It just didn't make sense.
"What... What do you mean Vetina?" Crystal asked frustrated. Yet Crystal knew exactly what Vetina meant. She just didn't want to believe it. It just couldn't happen. Not to her brother. Not Pure.
Yet, thinking back, there was one thing that Crystal found odd about Pure's behavior when they passed him. One thing the Pure she knew would never do. One thing that she was afraid had confirmed what Vetina had told her.

Sanoske kept silent. This interrogation would take longer if he kept speaking, so he allowed Crystal to ask whatever she needed to ask. He still had his claws close to her throat, though, on the off chance she did something. However, it was mildly curious that Vetina and Crystal (and, chances are, Pure) knew each other. This made Vetina's hostility towards the Terriermon even more curious.
And then there was the fact that Pure vanished somewhere. This 'Vetina' spoke in riddles to him, but she seemed to hint at Pure being controlled.
Vetina began to dig her feet into the ground after Crystal asked her to clarify what she said, planting herself. The Gazimon growled, but Vetina quickly responded "Plant, so if concern keeps your claws here, fine." As she did so. The roots of her feet extended deeper into the soil. A feat that would hurt a bit given her injuries, but would be worth it.
"To expound, someone... something tailed me. Pure was a convenience, I'd guess, for some scheme, where I was a sub plot. That someone, either himself, or related to, was one who made me lose someone all too dear. A love and a half I had to destroy because of him or his allies."
She once more closed her eyes, she herself having to keep herself composed. Taking a breath, she continued. "Pure is no longer as such. You saw his figure, and the scum who stole him, committing a bodily theft."
Sanoske looked over to Crystal. "[Can she be trusted? I'm not so sure, myself.]"

Crystal took a deep breath as she thought about what Vetina just said. She needed to stay calm and think clearly if she wanted to find out what actually happened to Pure. From what she could tell, whoever had took over Pure was also related to an incident in which Vetina lost someone close to her. In a way, Crystal guessed her attack was justified. That, or this was just a convenient lie to throw them off Pure's trail.
"I honestly don't know Sanoske." Crystal said in a soft voice as she tried to think things over, "I honestly don't like to think about it, but it is possible that the Pure we saw could have been an impostor. Sanoske, could you do me a favor? You've known Pure for a few days now. Did anything that Pure did or didn't do seemed at all odd to you when we passed him and told him we were going to take care of Vetina for him? Anything at all?" Crystal asked Sanoske, wanting to get his thoughts on the subject. While she tried her best to think as clearly as she could, she couldn't trust her mind to not just make stuff up in order for her to have the answers she seeked.
((Hey Panz. If you yourself can't figure out what I'm hinting at, but you think Sanoske would, just PM me and I'll tell you.))

It seemed that the two didn't trust Vetina. It also seemed as if Crystal understood this large winged Gazimon standing over her as well (which also would have been funny in a better circumstance. Others had trouble understanding her, but Crystal could understand his growling?). Given that she was going to be under his claws for a bit longer, she just took this time to rest.
Crystal was unsure about trusting Vetina, yes, but she was also going over what Pure had or hadn't done when they saw him. She asked Sanoske if he could help her shed any light on her suspicions. What Pure may or may not have done.
"[Hmm... I'm not quite sure. He didn't really do anything when he ran by us... nothing at... all...]" His eyes widened as he realized that, indeed, something was wrong. "[...not even scream. Not even cower behind us. Not even get you to hide with him.]" He stood upright, keeping his gaze towards Crystal as he stood away from the planted Palmon. He was horrified, and his expression shown it. "[This is unreal... i can't believe it... Pure had his body taken?]" The coward Terriermon had grown on him a bit, but he didn't want anything bad to happen like him.
And then Vetina started muttering something... "Hylden... there was a mention of Hylden. Not a being but... an aura, perhaps? And it sounds... familiar... yes, yes... I remember...I remember the other whom had that title..."
