A Fun Night Out On The Town [V-Day 2020 - Sophie]

Sophie by now was resting her chin in her hands, elbows on the table, so engaged with what Kenny was saying. By now she was used to his voice and his accent, and decided that she rather liked it.
She listened as he told the next part of his trials in joining KIZNA - challenging the wild and unpredictable Ophelia and her sister Cassie. And in that trial, Skadi had evolved to her Champion form. Then they tag-teamed with Valt, and that effort had been good enough for them to be accepted into the group.
"Heh, I'm sure those cakes did taste pretty good, given the context." Sophie remarked. Then she noted when Kenny slumped a little as he returned to the events of Golden Week, how he had been told off for overpraising Cassie after all this. After she heard this, Sophie reached out and patted his hands.
"It's okay. You went through an event of trauma during Golden Week, when you were confronted with a situation you didn't think you could handle. All sorts of horrible things could have happened, but they didn't. I totally understand why you would feel the way you did about Cassie and the role she played in preventing it. While of course, it might be uncomfortable for her, and I'm glad you stopped, I don't think you're a bad person for feeling that way in the first place."
Sophie sighed in that she felt she had to bring up her own experience, but, she felt the need to unload, just as Kenny had.
"When I was powerless to help with the Scramble Crossing event, I went through something of a breakdown." she admitted, pulling her hands back, holding them together. "I thought I knew all I had to know about digimon and the digital world, but I didn't. I didn't obtain any digimentals, so I couldn't evolve Lantis beyond Rookie. All I could do was watch helplessly as others fought in the battle that we should've been in. I felt like I failed as the leader of AEGIS and I couldn't bear even showing my face on Earth for a while. I retreated to the digital world, and refused to leave until I obtained digimentals for Lantis. His old boyfriend, Leith, helped us with this, but, in doing that, I feel that we may have hurt Leith too much in what we had to go through to get them. And now Leith doesn't want to see Lantis anymore, and... I just feel so bad with the decisions I made."
Sophie was almost on the verge of tears, but she forced herself to think more positively. "But, we have to be strong. Not let the past keep us down. We got the digimentals, we trained, we're now so much more ready in AEGIS than we've ever been before. And things look on the up for the future with us."
Now that she got that off her chest, Sophie looked at Kenny for a bit longer. By now she was feeling something of a connection with him. Like they understood each other really well. Before she thought about it properly, Sophie found herself asking a question. "Say, Kenny, can we please have a dance somewhere here tonight?" she blurted out. The moment she realized she couldn't take it back, she decided to be honest about her feelings. "I mean, I've always wanted to dance with someone I like. Even if you're not really good at it, I don't mind..." her face grew pink and a sheepish grin crossed her face. "I mean, only other time I danced with someone seriously was at the high school prom a few years back, and my "date" was just a drooling fool that stared at my chest the whole time, but, with you... I feel like I can really connect with you at an interpersonal level, so, I think I'd really like to dance with you."
She hoped Kenny would agree to this. Somehow, she wanted to just fulfil this silly little childhood fantasy, hoping it would be worth it with him. Even if they weren't dressed in ballgowns and tuxedos like in her fantasies, she just thought that she'd like this.

This time, Kenny didn't react much, if at all, when Sophie pet his hands once more. Instead, as he listened to Sophie reassure him, he smiled gratefully and nodded; while Valt had a very good point, to him, having lost his mum as a kid thanks to the antics of a drunken driver, he couldn't be more grateful for what the team had done for him, especially on that faithful day. Still, Valt was right; the praise on Cassie was pretty much overkill, and possibly even unintentionally stressful on her psyche. It was for the best he and Skadi eased on it, rather than keep it up.
But as Sophie vented her own spleen on her experiences with the New Year's Scramble Crossing incident, Kenny fell silent, unsure of what to say or do. Having constantly dealt with his own constantly looming fear of failure himself, all the moments where he felt he let others down for even minor slip ups, and his pleas for forgiveness usually met with harsh verbal lashings by plenty of others, leading to his own 'perfectionist' mindset he developed growing up, he could easily see where Sophie was coming from,
Internally, he thought about what to do to at least comfort Sophie; she was a sweet girl with great friends to call her own, and nobody deserved to go through the Hell she had to go through. He thought about giving her a hug right then and there, to pat her on the back while she cried as long as she wanted on his shoulder and...
No, no, that wouldn't work. What if she recoiled in panic, thinking he was trying to grab at her boobs? What if she saw him as a creep after that? Apart from a few hiccups, most of this date had been going well for the both of them. And the last thing he wanted to do was inadvertently shoot himself in the foot and send the whole date on a downward spiral. So instead, he stood quiet, just twiddling his fingers once more.
Thankfully, with Sophie's more optimistic words, Kenny smiled once more, looking up at her, "That's good to hear, Sophie." He told her, "If anything, you did take the chance to improve yourself wherever you could, and, honestly, I find that really admirable in a person. My dad always told me it's better to focus on the future, instead of wallowing in the past all the time."
If only he followed his advice all those years ago...
Still, there was something about Sophie that made him feel so good inside as he finished off his nice hot choc. She was a good lady. He'd happily hang out with her again if given the chance, maybe to do some fun thing around the Digital World, maybe train in a friendly spar and- wait a minute, did she just ask him for a 'dance' right then and there?
He nearly choked on the last few drops.
"Dance!?" Kenny found himself blurting out in surprise, before the tamer recomposed himself, listening to what Sophie had to say as a large tint of red spread over his face. What did she mean by 'someone I like'? Did she mean she like-liked Kenny? Was that was she implying to him? The only consolation he could find for himself that she didn't exactly mind even if he had two left feet (which he did). At first, Kenny could only find himself producing a long string of "Umm..." and "Err..." and "Hmm..."
"Do it, Kenny!" Skadi's voice was quick to snap him out of his self-inflicted trance, as he turned down to his D-Nexus. Taking a moment to breathe in and out, a small smile emerged on his face, as he looked up to Sophie once more. Yeah, sure, he wasn't going to exactly wow her with his nonexistent dancing skills, but it could be fun, regardless.
"Yeah, I think we should go for a dance together."

On the whole, Sophie was glad that Kenny simply sat there and listened. She wasn't used to human contact to deal with her problems. The only people she was used to doing that were her own parents. Not even Colin, she refused to give her little brother an ounce of her burdens, knowing he had enough of his own to deal with.
She was just glad that Kenny sat and listened. She didn't yearn for any comfort or sympathy from him, she just wanted to let another tamer that she wasn't related to to know how she felt. And that he listened to her patiently and with expressions of understanding, that was more than enough for her.
All he said was encouraging her current thoughts, to just take the lessons and move on. Sophie gave a nod of appreciation for these words.
She also noted that Kenny had only spoken about his father in all this, not his mother. She thought there was a reason for this, so she would not inquire about it further for now.
Sophie could do little but nervously take Kenny's reaction to her abrupt question. As she saw him blush too and go all nervous, she was preparing to back down, but thankfully Skadi egged him onward so that he accepted.
"Oh, that's wonderful!" she exclaimed with genuine happiness. "Ah, but, where can we go...?"
"Why not the roof of the AEGIS HQ?" Enkidu suggested from her V-Pet. "I doubt there'd be onlookers there to worry about."
Sophie thought initially that yeah that could be a good idea. "How could we get there though?" she asked. "I don't want to override our security measures just for a dance... normal procedure would need at least a day to be confirmed."
"Well, I could evolve to BlackStefilmon and carry you both up there." Enkidu suggested. "HQ is only three stories high. I can make that."
Sophie was glad for this suggestion. Not only could she and Kenny bond how they could through dance, but this anticipated positive experience could help wash away the negative experience she had experienced on that roof. She hoped Kenny would agree.

Kenny's mind still fought to comprehend the idea of dancing with Sophie; truth be told, he was quite the wannabe people pleaser, often overstepping everything just to (try and) appease everyone and their dog; just ask Fiora and Ryouta, especially after the latter gently called him out for his innocuous, yet unintentionally unprofessional comments to the Wormmon.
But regardless, Sophie was happy. And if she was happy, then so was Kenny. But that was a good question? Where should they go, exactly? Quickly, the young man's eyes darted towards Sophie's digivice as Endiku piped up with his own suggestion; the AEGIS HQ roof, of all things. That... certainly sounded interesting to him. How were they going to get up there, exactly? They couldn't just waltz in there and go all 'hey, we need to borrow the roof for a simple dance, kthxbai' to the others there, like Sophie said.
At least, until Endiku suggested he go BlackStefilmon and carry the two up there, effortlessly. Wait, wasn't Stefilmon basically a giant walking, talking pile of needles? While his (and Skadi's) interactions with Endiku were friendly thus far, Kenny bit the edges of his lip nervously. One slip up, and Kenny would find himself with a crazy amount of holes that would easily put swiss cheese to shame.
Still, with Sophie not seeming to mind in the slightest about it, he had to put his trust in her, like she had in him. Swallowing his pride, he glanced to her Digivice once more, "Okay, Endiku," He nodded willingly, "But... promise me you won't turn me into a shish kabob by complete accident with your sharp, pointy quills. I don't think dad would be happy when he comes to pick me up and he sees me looking like that."
Whatever happened next, Kenny would go along with willingly with Sophie (considering there'd be no freaking way she could summon a giant werehog in the middle of a bustling arcade without a bunch of spectators raising their eyebrows, at the very least). This night was taking a turn for the weird at this point, and now his mind was now racing to predict how Endiku could get them up there without accidentally skewering the both of them. Or even get them up there, period.
Like, last he checked, Stefilmon couldn't fly.

When Kenny responded with provisions that he wouldn't turn him into shishkebob, Enkidu chuckled at this. "That's fine. When I'm in my BlackStefilmon form, I only deploy my quills in combat. I promise I could carry the both of you easily, no quills involved."
"Well, that works out neatly then." Sophie concluded. "It's a short walk from here, Kenny, but we should be there soon."
With that, Sophie would lead Kenny on a walk for about 20 minutes as they moved toward Central Shibuya, where AEGIS HQ was there, hidden in plain sight overlooking Scramble Crossing. Sophie was in awe that her grandmother had been able to secure such a perfect location within Tokyo for their base, directly facing Shibuya station, the primary gateway between the human world and the digital world.
When they arrived, Sophie would lead them into a quiet alley. Thankfully at this time of night there were few onlookers in such a place, and when Sophie was sure that they were clear, she would raise her digivice and realize Enkidu. He revealed himself as a 120cm BlackGaomon, and nodded at Kenny politely.
"Alright then. Ready to evolve, Enkidu?" Sophie asked after the polite protocols had been met.
"Yes, gladly." Enkidu replied, then focused inward on his powers. Before their eyes, Enkidu transformed, revealing his Ultimate level of BlackStefilmon. standing 220cm tall, with muscles that would make Lantis jealous.
And, as promised, all of Enkidu's crimson quills were withdrawn, rendering him of no harm to either Kenny or Sophie.
"Okay, ready to make the leap when you're ready." he said to them, crouching down to secure them. Once they were properly secured, Enkidu would make a strong leap into the night sky, and land on the roof of AEGIS HQ. A remote sensor started beeping, but Sophie quickly disabled it with a command to the operations level, discreetly. Hopefully that would be the end of it.
"Now then." Sophie said, setting her digivice down so that it began to play an appropriate dancing tune. "Kenny, shall we dance?" she asked eagerly, offering her hand. Enkidu merely sat down, satisfied to just watch over them while they bonded in this way.

"Oh thank God." Kenny breathed a sigh of relief the moment Endiku cleared everything up. At least now, there'd be one less thing he'd have to explain to his dad when he'd come back to pick him up at the end of the night. After giving a brief nod to Sophie to follow along, he'd do so, out of the arcade, and throughout the streets of Shibuya to the AEGIS HQ.
All the while, as he walked along the streets of Shibuya, his thoughts and worried still bubbled and boiled inside his head. There was a sense of trust he developed with Sophie within the arcade that had slowly strengthened throughout the night as they talked, laughed, and vented their spleen to one another, at least within him as far as he knew. Already, he figured what he would do when they got to the dance; copy Sophie the best he could, and avoid treading on her toes as they danced together.
Yes, he was overthinking shit again. Why do you ask?
Still, he followed Sophie all the way to the back alley of what seemed to be the AEGIS HQ, out of sight from the regular onlookers, he took the time to straighten himself out and dust himself off a little as Sophie summoned Endiku from her Digivice. He could only give a little smile at him as the BlackGaomon nodded... just before stepping back as he grew into the massive, muscular BlackStefilmon right in front of his eyes... all without the quills.
Still, a brief chuckle escaped Kenny's mouth as he turned to Sophie with a smile, "Y'know, Sophie, without the quills, he looks more like a big muscular puppy dog now." That was literally the first thing that popped into his head as he first laid eyes on the BlackStefilmon's form in the flesh for the first time. And needless to say, that mental image wasn't exactly going to die out anytime soon.
Once secured in the BlackStefilmon's arms, instinctively, Kenny grabbed onto Endiku's fur just before he made the big leap. Quickly, the whole world turned a blur of light and colour for a few brief moments before they hit the roof. The moment they landed upon the roof, his body was already awash with a slight feeling of queasiness, blinking a few times as he rubbed his head... just as his eyes laid upon the beautiful cityscape of Shibuya at night.
Of all those years, he never saw something so amazing and beautiful. It was like a whole sea of colour had come awash on the streets of Shibuya, giving the city a sort of life of it's own. Kenny could only whistle in amazement as he looked upon his home. Even the brief beeping noise wasn't enough to knock him out of his trance.
His eyes still glued to the city below, he raised his D-Nexus up briefly, "Hey Skadi, take a look at this." One small flash of light and flow of pixels later, and Skadi too would be bearing witness to the city below, awestruck on what she had to see. She rubbed her eyes briefly, but it was all too real; there was something that felt magical to her about this city at night. Humans really were amazing creatures with massive potential to create anything they desired.
Was it any wonder Sophie selected the roof to dance upon?
His trance was quickly broken as he turned to Sophie as music started to play. A light blush started to tinge across his face as he gave a warm smile to Sophie, nodding and lightly grabbing her hand, as he proceeded to dance with her. His eyes tried his hardest to focus upon her, only glancing down to her feet just to ensure he wouldn't tread on her toes by mistake. He said he was gonna make Sophie happy, and he would do everything in his power to ensure it.
All the while, Skadi settled down next to Endiku, softly slumping into the BlackStefilmon's sides like a giant walking marshmallow, enjoying the show in front of her as she nestled into his fur. Her tamer was happy and so was she. And to her, that was all that really mattered.

Enkidu blushed a little as Kenny remarked on what he looked like after his evolution. "Heh, Lantis tells me the same thing. Hearing it from you, guess it is true... but I'm ready for whatever challenge is ahead when I'm in this form."His challenge was to get both Sophie and Kenny onto the roof in a single bound. And thankfully he achieved it. Whew, he was much stronger than he thought he was as an Ultimate level. After he had done so, Sophie took in a moment to appreciate the neon glow of Tokyo at night. She hadn't appreciated it in that traumatic event on New Year's 2019, but, tonight, she was in a state of mind to appreciate the full wonder of it. As Skadi emerged from Kenny's digivice, Enkidu de-digivolved to BlackGaomon as well, supposing any moment that he wasn't in his Ultimate form was a good moment. He too appreciated the sight. The music Sophie had chosen was just something of an old whimsical favourite. She didn't mind if Kenny didn't dance to it perfectly, she just wanted to experience what it was like to dance with someone she enjoyed being with, who could respond to her nicely and empathetically. The result was... something not really out of a fairy tale. Just Sophie holding hands with Kenny as she tried to synch her moves with his around the rooftop. It wasn't very graceful or elegant, but feeling Kenny responding to her moves with the music, that was a sensation that she absolutely adored. She didn't care that neither of them were very good with this. And when the next track began, she just settled back and enjoyed riffing dance moves she had seen on the TV with him. Even if it wasn't professional, even if sometimes it got awkward, she just loved the sensation of being in contact with a man that was empathetic to her own movements. And in the open air of Tokyo's night skyline, Sophie thought this was the climax of her own fairytale. And she was glad to have met Kenny. Meanwhile, after a few minutes of watching them, Enkidu turned to Skadi. "Well, I'm in the mood. Would you like to dance too?" he asked, even if they weren't on a date, he didn't want her to be left out in all this. Even if Enkidu danced about as well as a hedgehog could fly, well, somehow just sitting still watching didn't feel right with him. And while he didn't feel attraction toward Skadi, he felt that he would rather like to be her friend, and if they could have a fun dance, that'd be great by him.

As the dance went on, a small sense of confidence started to build inside of Kenny. Yes, his dancing skills weren't exactly nothing to write home about, all things considered, but now, things were starting to come naturally for him. He didn't need to be looking down at Sophie's feet anymore just to avoid treading on her toes; it just came naturally. And he was all too happy to admit that he just felt comfortable and warm near her.
By the time the next song started, even when he followed Sophie's moves, his own oft-wonky moves still felt fluid and natural. He didn't mind the fact he may or may not have looked a little dumb in front of Endiku, or God forbid, his own partner; this was just pure, unadulterated bliss. And he was loving every minute of it. Even in the cold winter evening, a sense of warmth could be felt within himself.
Skadi, on the other hand, had found herself easily losing herself in this moment of bliss, watching her tamer- no, her friend, find someone who cared for him and loved him for who he was - which was quickly broken by Endiku asking for one simple request; a simple dance. Skadi gave a simple nod, standing up, and grabbing onto Endiku's boxing glove-coated paw, dancing along with him with a smile.
This night had gone so well, much to Kenny's surprise. Maybe that's what Sophie liked him; he just had to be himself, instead of trying to go above and beyond trying to appease everyone. He didn't have to try and throw his own back out just to make sure everyone was happy with him. Skadi was all too happy to be herself, and she quickly found herself winning over not only fans, but also apprenticeships and even whole organisations like KIZNA.
The young tamer let out a happy sigh, "This night has been so... brilliant, Sophie." He chuckled a little bit, smiling up at Sophie, "I'm so glad we got to meet each other like this tonight. You're such a sweet woman. I'm glad Colin has such an amazing sister like you." That light blush could easily be seen on his face. There was something about Sophie that just felt so magical to him.
Even if he wasn't exactly ready to shout it out from the rooftops yet.

Even if their dance wasn't perfect, full of moments when Sophie thought of a move but Kenny didn't respond to it, that was perfectly okay with her. It was their first dance after all, impromptu and with little experience. But the fact that Sophie wanted to just have a good time with Kenny, and how he responded to that, it was enough for her to think this was probably one of the best experiences ever.
Meanwhile Enkidu didn't mean the same sort of energy toward Skadi. While his intentions were not romantic, at the very least, they were intended positively, just so that maybe she and him could become friends after tonight. Enkidu showed the same care of his movements as Sophie did, and was sure to try and share some fun with the rookie sheep digimon. Careful not to tread on her toes, let the flow of the music dictate their movements, dancing really was rather pleasant.
As it ended, Kenny remarked how much he had liked this date. Sophie found that she agreed, adoring just how caring Kenny was toward her. Then he complimented her. Sophie blushed a little as she heard him say she was a sweet woman and that Colin was lucky to have a sister like her.
In response, Sophie's breath grew a little shaky. She was smiling, she decided that she really liked Kenny. And, perhaps, this was an appropriate moment for it to happen?
"Kenny... can I kiss you?" she asked. If granted, she'd lean forward and give a gentle, polite kiss to him. If not, she'd settle for hugs or polite bows or the like. Either way, she didn't mind. The dance had fulfilled her satisfaction for the night. She had bonded with an equal that she was also attracted to, and also seemed to be attracted to her. That was all she wanted from tonight, and somehow, she felt like she had achieved a whole lot more.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Apr 2, 2020 2:39:06 GMT
From the very beginning of the night, Kenny was pretty much expecting everything to go wrong; that Sophie would end up hating his guts, or take advantage of his own festering gullibility and leave him out in the cold. And yet... he had a good feeling that God, Buddha and Arceus were in a real good mood tonight, because things just felt nearly perfect. A sideways glance towards Skadi and Enkidu's dance was more than enough to tell him she managed to win over yet another friend.
And she hadn't even gotten to the cuddles yet!
Indeed, as the music died down, Skadi 'fell' (read: threw herself) into Enkidu's arms for the inevitable cuddles, relaxing herself as she wrapped her arms around his neck and nuzzling him affectionately, bleating happily all the while. A small chuckle managed to escape from Kenny's mouth as he watched the sight. With her, the cuddles with a new friend wasn't a matter on if it would happen, but when.
Yet, he still felt a little weak in the knees; he felt something with Sophie, yet he didn't feel ready to admit it just yet, at least not to her directly. He bit his lip a little more lightly this time, not sure of what else to say to her. But it seemed Sophie looked to be a teensy bit more proactive than Kenny as she popped the question.
His first kiss? From a girl? That was pretty much the last thing he expected to hear that night. He glanced over once more to Skadi to get an answer. She just gave a simple nod to him. That was enough to set another small smile on Kenny's face as he looked into Sophie's eyes. But his blush began to grow ever so slightly bigger.
"Oh, uh, yes Sophie. That would sound nice." He told her with a nod. Inside, his mind was racing faster than ever as it fought to comprehend just what in the good name of fuck he went and said out loud. Within earshot of at least one other person. He would just wait for Sophie to pull the first move and work from it from there, just allowing himself to ready himself for something that, quite frankly, he'd never really expect.

Enkidu chuckled as Skadi "fell" into his arms for a cuddle. While the BlackGaomon hadn't meant any romantic intentions in his dance, he still felt close enough to return the cuddle. He felt that he and Skadi could be friends, and he had few enough of those already. And he liked that prospect, she seemed like a really nice, sweet digimon.
Sophie felt really glad when Kenny said that he'd like to kiss. And so she pressed her lips to his. She didn't want this to be messy or lustful, just... lovely. It only lasted a few seconds, but, when she drew back, she felt... just wonderful.
Experiencing this with Kenny... there was both physical and emotional attraction to him. And a desire to experience this again. A million thoughts rushed through Sophie's mind, before she finally realized what she should be doing.
"That was a wonderful date, Kenny, thank you so much." she said. "I'd love to do it again sometime. And soon. You're a very sweet, kind man, and... I really like you."
She assumed that Kenny could catch on to her indications that she'd like for this to be a lasting thing. The night had just gone so perfectly, how could she say otherwise? She hoped their feelings would develop further once they made more overtures of trust to each other. While of course she knew a fairytale romance was pretty unlikely in the real world... tonight had come pretty damn close. There they were, dancing on a rooftop in Tokyo's neon glow, two people that had shared their feelings and had decided that they liked what they saw. In fact, if Kenny wanted to call her his girlfriend, Sophie would be okay with that in his moment. She hardly wanted to be with any other right now.
"We should probably get off the roof before we trip up a sensor or something." Sophie continued, sounding a little disappointed to bring things to a conclusion this quickly. But she thought that it was enough for her tonight. "Enkidu, could you please help us?"
"Alright." Enkidu said, then warp-digivolved to BlackStefilmon again, ready to help them back to ground level.

Kenny just stayed calm and collected as Sophie leaned in to kiss him. Directly on the lips too. But it was way too easy to spot that huge blush spread upon his face. Yet, he felt content, happy even. This wonderful woman standing in front of him... he brushed the front of his hair with his hand a bit, gazing upon Sophie and chuckling a little bit. His confidence too had grown throughout the night, his initial fears and anxiety well and truly dead in the water.
Yet at first, as Sophie complimented him for, and let's be honest here, the following statement was pretty much more or less the truth, a 'wonderful date', the blush on his face flat out refused to die, as he scratched his chin with a loose finger, "I... uh... no, honestly, I should be thanking you for tonight, Soph." He admitted, "You're a wonderful girl, you know that? Honestly, I wish this date lasted just a little bit longer, because... I think I love you. And I'd kill to go on another date with you as soon as possible."
...did he really just say those words out loud? Well, to be fair, after a night like tonight, it wasn't like he was going to exactly be kicking himself for saying that. He caught the signals as soon as he spotted it. He felt that he and Sophie had that real special something together, if this night alone was anything to go by. Here he was, expecting himself to outright shoot himself in the foot at some point and completely fuck everything up.
And yet, by some miracle, things were perfect. What sort of deity or group of deities he managed to somehow appease in the last 24 hours to get a night like this, exactly? He didn't know, and by God, he didn't care. This night was perfect, this date was perfect, hell, Sophie was perfect. It wasn't like he had any room to complain about anything at all.
And by God, he wasn't in the mood to complain about fuck and all.
Sadly, Sophie was right. They couldn't exactly stay on this roof forever. But, yeah, that was understandable; the other members wouldn't likely be happy to see the leader just fuck around with a dork like him on the rooftops. After waiting for Endiku to evolve once more, Kenny would scoop Skadi back up in his arms once more, the Valaismon lightly nuzzling his cheek.
Still, there were a few last things Kenny could stick in before the night was done. With one arm still carrying the Valaismon, he gestured to Enkidu with the other with a grin, "After you, milady."
...yes, this was a giant were-beast, not an open door, but chalk that up to semantics rearing it's ugly head once again.
Once Enkidu got the 3 wrapped up in his arms, Kenny would reach out to Sophie's hand, if possible, with a gentle smile. Just a few more last acts to help wrap up the night in a nice little bow. If only this night could last just a little longer for the both of them. Hell, he'd give his good left arm just for five more minutes on that rooftop in the Tokyo nightlight.

Sophie was speechless for a little while at the words Kenny said. He thought he loved her, and, frankly, she felt the same. The whole time they had met tonight, Kenny had been kind, gentle, respectful and... really fun. Sophie honestly didn't know anything that could have been better tonight.
"Thank you so much, Kenny." she eventually replied. "I... think I love you too. You're... just the best, I think." she said, her cheeks turning pink. "Thank you so much for this wonderful valentine's date. I've never had one like it in my life... and I think I will like to take you up on another date sometime."
Once the time came for them to leave their wonderful setting, Sophie appreciated this one last gesture from Kenny. "Aw, you're so generous, I love that." she said in response with a smile. That was one of the things Sophie loved about him the most, he was just so... caring for her. It reminded her of Lantis somewhat. While Lantis was of course her digimon partner and neither of them were interested in being anything more than that, well, seeing some of the same qualities in Kenny rather made her like him more.
Sophie would accept this gesture, and then would brace as Enkidu carried the three of them from the building, landing cleanly in the alley below. Once on the ground, he would let them go, but would quickly de-digivolve back to BlackGaomon.
"Well then... I look forward to our next date, Kenny." Sophie said, smiling at the young man. "Because our first date together has... really left an impression on me." she stopped short of calling it a fairy-tale experience, not wanting to let silly childhood fantasies spoil what she perceived as quite a lovely budding relationship.
Enkidu meanwhile bade his farewell to Skadi. "It's been wonderful to meet you, Miss Skadi." he said, bowing politely. "You seem like a wonderful digimon, and, if it's alright with you, I'd like to think of you as my friend."
Both Sophie and Enkidu awaited the responses here, hoping they'd part on lovely amicable terms.

To say that, internally, Kenny's mind was fighting to comprehend on how wonderfully this night had went for not just Sophie, but for himself too, the latter literally the last person he'd expect to have a whole damn date this good, was the understatement of the freaking millennium. All he could say (or do, really) in response to Sophie's words was to give his own arm a little awkward rub and a small nod to her, a few happy chuckles managing to slip out of his mouth, and his own blush flat-out refusing to die out.
Quite frankly, he'd kill to go on that second date ASAP.
Still, he had to stay humble. He wasn't exactly going to fall down on that final hurdle now, not after everything he accomplished, and his little gesture seemed to ensure , "Aw, it's nothing, Soph." He replied with another chuckle, "You made this night absolutely amazing for the both of us; the least I could do was to try and return the favour the best I can now." Seriously, the idea of dancing on the roof in the Tokyo nightlight, of all things! Why hadn't he thought of that at any point?
Flying through the cool night sky once more was no less exhilarating to Kenny as the wind wooshed through his body, one hand bracing onto Enkidu's fur like a rollercoaster bar, the other tightly squeezing Sophie's hand. And once again, he found his heart pounding rapidly in the brief descent to the concrete below. Skadi, on the other hand?
Oh, she loved the brief trip down! It'd be a little hard to spot with the naked eye, considering pretty much everybody and everything was a blur at this point, but, ever the happy-go-lucky little kid she were (no pun intended), she'd let out a loud "WOOOOOOOOO~!" As she threw her hands up into the air, letting the winds blow throughout her wool throughout.
The moment they landed down onto the ground, and Enkidu let them go, Kenny would land nicely on his own two feet, and Skadi would follow, as he put his own Digimon down on the ground. "That was amazing!" She cried out loud as she pumped a fist in the air, "Let's go again!"
Kenny just gently pat her on the head as he smiled at her, "Maybe next time, Skadi. We'd kinda be raising one too many eyebrows for our own liking if we just did that over and over again. And besides, you don't want to make yourself sick now, do you?"
Skadi's ears drooped as she twiddled her two pointer fingers together, looking down onto the pavement, "...you do have a point there."
Letting out another chuckle as he turned away from his partner and to Sophie, now starting to say her farewells to him, the same blush re-emerged back onto his face, "Heh, me too, Soph." He smiled back at the wonderful young woman, "Honest to God, I know I sound like a broken record at this point, but you're an amazing woman, and I really love you for it. Thank you for making this one of the greatest nights of my- our lives." He let out a happy sigh as he moved a hand through his hair, "God knows, if I could, I'd give my good left arm just for 5 more minutes up on that roof with you. Because sweet Jesus Christ that was amazing."
Skadi, looking on from the sidelines, could only watch and smile, wringing her fingers together as she watched her tamer with a slight hint of pride, only for one of her ears giving a little twitch as she heard Enkidu's voice, turning towards him, and...well, Kenny just shot over a glance towards the two, quietly whispering a simple "...oh no."
Enkidu didn't need to ask. Before he could even finish, Skadi could be seen smiling up at him with a wide grin, "You really mean that?" Her arms started to outstretch.
"...oh no."
"Of course I'll be your friend, Enkidu! C'mere, you!" Suddenly, she made a bound for Enkidu, aiming to throw herself into his arms once more. Her natural strength put the poor BlackGaomon at risk on being knocked down to the floor by accident. Alarm bells started to ring once more in Kenny's head as his head turned towards Skadi's antics.
Whatever happened, Kenny was quick to pry Skadi up afterwards and hold her in her arms once more, "Oh, sorry about that, Enkidu. Skadi's just really affectionate towards her friends. Just ask Ophelia. And Cassie. And... well, you get the picture." Even after all this time, he still couldn't keep a good leash on his partner and her antics that easily.
Thank God nobody else was around to see it right now.

Sophie couldn't help but give a grin and a little "Hee~" as Kenny complimented her about her plans for the night. "Well, what can I say? I'm told that I have something of a bit of flair for putting the message across."
"You are Lantis's partner after all." Enkidu added. Sophie took that as a compliment and beamed at him too.
As they made the trip down, Enkidu also smiled at how much Skadi appreciated it. However, he'd respectfully decline her request to do it again. "While I like breaking rules, I think doing it again would be pushing our luck here." he said.
Sophie meanwhile flushed a little as Kenny complimented her efforts further. "Heh. Well, give it a few more dates like this and I'll get us dancing in the Tokyo Imperial Palace." she said, then paused for a couple of moments and gasped. "Oh my gosh I can't believe I just said that! Um... gosh, that'd... possibly screw us over so much, oh god please don't expect that, I don't want to break the law like that..." Sophie attempted a save, but in doing so revealed just how much of a dork she was.
Thankfully attention was turned in the meantime when Skadi pounce-hugged Enkidu, and, while the BlackGaomon was a relatively strong rookie level, the force was enough to push him over and he landed on the ground. Thankfully he was skilled enough as a martial artist to manage to fall without hurting himself. When the shock wore off and he realized what was going on, he only chuckled and hugged Skadi back.
"Friends we are then!" he declared.
While all of this was quite sweet, Sophie did think that they'd really best take their leave now. "Well then. Until next time, hopefully soon, see you then, Kenny." Sophie said, in one last gesture of parting.
