The Dogs and the Bees [Shiki; Valentine Event]

In the Eastern Timberlands, there stood a massive hollowed out tree, made into that of a house. Stumps and mushrooms about it formed patio-like furniture - chairs and a table - and a farm field stretched out about the clearing, a variety of crops growing within. To the side of the tree was what looked to be a bathtub, filled with a jelly-like substance of some sort...
... And up the path that led to the front door of this hollowed tree, walked an elderly man; a box of sweets, and a small and humble bouquet of flowers in tow.
Charles, frankly, wasn't sure what to expect; briefly adjusting the jacket he wore in a somewhat antsy fashion. When was the last time that he had ever gone on a date, let alone a blind date? Thinking back, the earliest dates - of the one or two middle school and high school sweethearts he had that never went anywhere - were hazy memories to him by now, and the memories of his time spent with his late wife....
... Yeah, perhaps dwelling on that now of all times wasn't the best. His daughter had already scolded him plenty, for dwelling on her the last few valentines days. The reason he was going on this blind date at all, was because she pushed him to try and find someone already, in fact..!
Though in his thinking back, he couldn't help but realize, that this was... Well... His first blind date, ever. Typically, when he dated, it was with someone he'd gotten to know first, over the course of any given period of time. To be going on a date with someone he didn't know, beyond where they lived, while he was still figuring out Digimon and the Digital World as a whole...?
... It was, certainly, going to be something.
The place that they called home was certainly something as well - Charles could not help but stare up at the tall tree that stood before him with a hint of awe - even his own spirit, a little Wanyamon, emerging and perching on his shoulder in similar awe. Briefly, he tried to think of what sort of person must live in a place like this - noting the farm fields, the stump chairs and mushroom table, the tree...
He'd try to note the bathtub of jelly, too, but he honestly couldn't quite wrap his head around it quite yet. Was it food? Or some sort of beauty treatment, that was known only to Digimon?
Regardless, when taking everything else into perspective, he got the impression of someone who lived off the land; perhaps someone who lives in harmony, with the forest here. His brain conjured images of a possible dryad-esque digimon; and for a moment, he wondered if his flowers would be an appropriate gift for such a digimon, or not!
The thought would have him pause not too far from the door; though he was quick to shake his head. No, no getting cold feet now. He wasn't a nervous love-struck young man, anymore..! He had to make his best first impression, one way or another; and it wasn't like this would be a total loss, even if the date didn't go anywhere...
... So, with that in mind, Charles would take the last few steps up to the door, as the Wanyamon spirit returned to within. Adjusting his jacket once more - still somewhat antsy - and taking a deep breath, he'd straighten up...
... and knock on the door.

There's one thing the vespid queen love, and that's generally to preserve her ow beauty. Speaking of which, she just died several weeks ago goddamn. That feral hog be cursed. Thanks to that she's currently recovering... there are some changes on her body, but she tries to not care too much about it. Perhaps just a little bit of mutation that somehow carried... hmmmm... eh well!
Anyway, thanks to this strange technology human have... Tamernet or whatever it's called, what a strange name if you ask her. She could talk to humans easily, and hopefully this time she found a human who's more willing to indulge her on their culture. Yes, for example this... "date" thing. What is it anyway? Apparently it's similar to courting but also different? Human seem to be courting less aggressively and doing it so slowly too. What an interesting concept, wooing someone emotionally rather than physically with performance, treats, and other material presents.
Hmmm? Sounds of knocking? Oh, that must be her guest. How silly of her. She's bathing too long apparently.
Immediately from the massive bathtub made out of wax, Shiki rose. The royal jelly parted, and honey oozing down to the ground... The vespid queen looked at the source of the sound, cucumbers covering spots where her "eye" should be.
...This scene would be monstrous if it's not for the silly cucumbers. She used her front leg to lift the cucumber away from her eye.
"Oh! Hello! My, how rude I am! Hello, you must be the one who I spoke to in that... Bee bee es thingy? Tamernet was it? You looked like of my age, my guest!" Shiki called over some of her servants, which proceeded to clean her body from the residual honey. They immediately left, leaving the vespid queen towering over Charles.
"How do you do, good sir? My name's Shiki. I believe your culture offers a handshake for first meeting, albeit as you can see I have no hand, but surely a claw would do, yes?" she offered a hand.
"Mr. Charles, was that correct? I'm generally not really fond of beast Digimon due to some past traumas, but I believe there is exception in every example, and I hope today would be favorable for both of us. Anyway, would you prefer to come in, or would you prefer to stay outside for this little... "date", was it? I'm not familiar with this term, so pardon me if I mistepped! However, I made some cookie while waiting. I hope cinnamon honey would be of your taste?"
Shiki flew up to her house, and returned with a jar of cookie, almost half as tall as Charles himself. "I might gone overboard because this is the first time in years I have gotten a guest, especially one that's not a sudden, but an invited one! I'm embarrassed, but even at this age I can be quite giddy and very excitable, you see!"

Going back to the mental image of a dryad-esque digimon... Charles wasn't exactly sure, what to expect of his date. Digimon had already displayed to him many times before, that they didn't exactly have any 'expected' appearances; they were quite variable, both inside and outside! For as much as he tried to imagine just what sort of digimon lived here, he could equally expect almost any sort of digimon - be it an ogre, a robot, a plant, or even a dog like his spirit...!
The sound of the jelly in the massive bathtub sloshing about would suddenly draw Charles' attention, as the older man glanced to the side, towards the noise. When he saw a massive shape rise up out of the jelly and honey, though...
... he began to realize that, of all the sorts of digimon that could live here...
... A gigantic insect, was certainly one of those possibilities!
The massive, Flymon-like Vespid Queen easily towered over him - which was quite the feat, considering that he already was quite a tall man at six and a half feet! Between the monstrous size of Shiki, on top of the equally monstrous appearance, Charles was visibly unsettled and startled; becoming somewhat wide eyed as he stumbled back a couple of paces. For how much he was trying to get used to digimon, there were still things that threw him off immensely, such as this..!
Hearing Shiki speak, though, seemed to interrupt his flight or flight instincts just enough for Charles to assess the situation and stop himself from acting rashly, though; the older man pausing in place, before regaining his composure and straightening up. Quietly, Charles watched as other insectoid servants would be call in to clean any excess honey and jelly from Shiki's body, before they parted; leaving the both of them to their own devices once more.
Once offered the handshake - or, perhaps, a clawshake - Charles would accept it, extending his hand and smiling in a warm, friendly fashion. "I'm doing well; my joints are treating me well, for as old as I am," He'd lightly joke with a laugh; both to lighten the mood for the both of them, as well as to calm his nerves a bit. "And you?" He'd question next, "I can see that you were bathing, just now; though I admit that I don't recognize what the jelly that you were bathing in is,"
As Shiki inquired about his name, Charles would nod in confirmation - "I'm indeed Charles Brynlee, though just Charles is fine. It's a pleasure to meet you, Shiki; and I hope that today goes well for the both of us, as well." He'd introduce himself; polite as ever. "I have no preference on inside or outside, personally; though a place to sit down would be nice, either way. Cinnamon honey sounds quite delicious, as well..! Though, before we settle down..."
Pausing briefly, Charles would shift the box of sweets he was carrying to one hand, and the small bouquet of flowers he had to the other. "As I didn't know what to expect, and I am still learning about all of the different customs that Digimon here have, I had gotten a variety of sweets that are made with a variety of digimon in mind for you..." He'd begin, extending both the box and the bouquet to Shiki in offering. "... But even then, I hope that - even if not all of it is to your liking - that at least some of them are good."
Giving gifts like these were more of a western custom than how dating typically goes in Japan, to his understanding; though he still wanted to put his best foot forward, however he could.
Once gift giving was resolved, though, would come the cookies. Charles was a bit surprised, to see just how large the jar of cookies that Shiki brought down was - almost three feet tall, if he'd have to estimate! Even past the surprise, though, he would be unable to help a warm laugh; smiling up to Shiki. "I can admire a lady who can still tap into her youthful side, even when we're as old as we are." Charles commented genuinely, adding "And I think that the fact that you wanted to make so many cookies, just for someone you didn't even know at the time, is very sweet and thoughtful as well. Thank you, Shiki."
Even if he didn't have the keen nose that his spirit or his Gaomon form had, he could still somewhat smell the spice of the cinnamon and the sweet of the honey from the jar - and he'd clearly convey this with a deep inhale, and a relaxed hum. "Mmm... I might not have a keen sense of smell as I am now, but I can still smell a bit of the cinnamon and honey." He'd mention; concluding "And I must say, that it all smells quite delicious; I'm looking forward to trying your baking,"

Oh my as expected, perhaps her form is too hard on humans? Well, he have to bear it for a bit. "I'm sorry, it's my fault for not telling you beforehand of my species. I heard humans are not fond of insectoids, hence the reason of me never really saying anything. I... admittedly was lonely you see." Shiki obviously expresionless, being a bee and all... but there is seem to be a hint of guilt in her voice.
"My servants are nice, but they spoke no ill of me, they're very closely linked to me, their mother and queen. You could say that my servant aren't quite Digimons, but rather a figments of my data which mimics the shape of a digimon, connected through a hive mind... It's complicated, but let's just say no one has visited me since long with intent of befriending me you see.
But enough of depressing things! I'm doing fine, yes, thank you! Well, except that little part where I got attacked by a boar... I still got some wounds thanks to it, and I'm healing inside my vat of honey and royal jellies... With certain combination they heal rather than tenderizing your meat, you see."
Shiki glanced at the items that Charles bought... oh those are for her? "My my, how kind of you! Oh, golly, how I missed polite guests! Especially ones that bought me snack, yum! Please hold that up for me, good sir!" and she started to sip on the flower, just like a bee would. "Ah, perfect! Such an exotic taste, very excellent selection!"
It's mysterious whether a Vesfimon's mouth caked in pollens would look cute though.
"Chocolate too? Why, how thoughtful! Why don't we share it along with my cookie, Charles? That's so sweet of you. Ah, I almost forgot. You said you have no preference, yes? Then why don't we just sit outside? I don't want you to think that I'm trying to do any funny things, you see! I know how bad paranoia can be."
And after ushering the man to the tree stump, Shiki devolved down to her smaller form. It's a Kunemon-like Digimon, with purple skin rather than yellow or green. As addition, her neck is fluffy just like a bee, and she seem to have small wings too.
"I hope this form spooks you less, Charles. Tea?" she asked as several of her servants returned with teacups and pot. "If you got any sort of tea preference do tell me.. or better..."
The servants immediately queued beside the table to offer Charles to sniff at the selection of the vespid queen's teas.
"Please choose which one you like, admittedly I love the jasmine one the best! The floral aftertaste is simply irresistible! Enough for the current pleasantries, my good sir! Please, taste my cookies, I hope it suits your taste! Don't be shy to criticize my cooking, now!"

Ah; he should've expected for Shiki to notice his initial reaction to her. Charles couldn't help a brief sigh at himself - hoping that his initial surprise wouldn't ruin the date - but otherwise, he was sympathetic as the vespid explained herself. Noting the guilt in Shiki's tone, he couldn't help but smile similarly sympathetically as well as in reassurance, mentioning "It's quite alright, Shiki... It's true that some humans aren't always all that fond of insects; but I'm not bothered by your appearance. I was just surprised, was all."
He'd scratch the back of his head a bit in a sheepish fashion; explaining himself as well. "I'm still somewhat new to the Digital World, and the different varieties that Digimon can come in; you're the first time I've seen and properly acquainted myself a digimon quite as large as you are, so I was a bit surprised. I apologize for that, Shiki."
The mention of a 'boar', though, would catch the old man's attention. He'd blink a bit; thinking back for a few moments, wondering if this 'boar' was the same one that he had helped deal with before... "Would I be wrong, to assume that it was an electrical Boarmon?" He'd question curiously; mentioning "I don't imagine this is a subject you'd like to dwell on for too long, so I won't dwell too long either; though me and some friends had actually ventured out here, to hunt a rampaging electric Boarmon that had been causing trouble for Rosewood, some time ago."
As far as the flowers and chocolates went, though... Charles supposed that he should've expected for the flowers to be of particular interest, to a vespid Digimon. As per her request, he'd hold them up for her so that she could sip from the flowers one by one, smiling in an endeared fashion. He supposed that, if things went well between the two of them, that he'd have to bring more flowers for her... Could a bee have preferences in flowers?
Once she was finished with the flowers, though... Charles couldn't help but note the pollen that'd end up caked around her mouth; and for a brief moment, he couldn't help but wonder what to make of it. It was indeed amusing, in an endearing sense; though given how bees tended to like collecting pollen, he was conflicted on whether to offer Shiki a handkerchief to wipe her mouth with or not..!
After a couple moments of thought, though, he'd decide to speak up; mentioning "You've got a bit of pollen, around your mouth." He'd shift the bouquet to the crook of his arm so that he could reach into a pocket; pulling out a handkerchief, and offering it to her with a warm chuckle and smile. "Here; you can wipe your mouth off with my handkerchief, if you'd like."
At the suggestion of sharing the chocolate with Shiki's cookies, as well as being ushered to sit with her outside, Charles would chuckle and nod. "That sounds like a fine idea," He'd agree; setting the box of chocolates down on the mushroom table, so that they could both enjoy the different sweets within at their leisure. As he'd sit down, he'd grunt briefly - his back always did tend to give him issues from time to time, in getting up and sitting down; though it was typically mild. "I feel comfortable enough around you, now that I've had a chance to get to know you; though I do appreciate your thoughtfulness, Shiki."
Seeing the vespid devolve into a smaller form - one that he couldn't help but compare to that of Scarab's Wormmon form, with its own body shape - was a curious sight, as well. Briefly, he couldn't help but wonder if the ruff around her neck was as soft as it looked - though to even ask to touch it would be too forward of him on a first date, he was quite sure. So, instead, he'd simply smile to her - mentioning "Even at this stage, you have a bit of a regal look to you, don't you?"
"And, yes, some tea sounds quite nice - thank you." Charles confirmed with a warm smile; nodding to Shiki. Despite initial surprises, she's been quite the gracious host; and he appreciated it a good deal...
As the servants lined up to offer a variety of different teas to Charles, though... He'd blink a bit in surprise; briefly observing them, before going over the different teas. It was... Quite interesting, really, the concept of these servants; that they're not quite Digimon, but closer to an extension of Shiki herself... "... I'd like to try this one, please." He'd request; gesturing to one of the teas, once he was able to make up his mind. It wasn't one that he's ever had before, but... He supposed that if he was already doing new things, in having a blind date, that he might as well try new things as well..!
At the Vespid Queen's insistence, Charles would also take one of the cookies; taking a bite of it. He'd hum briefly, mulling over the taste as he chewed, until... "... These are quite delicious, Shiki. You're rather good at baking, aren't you?" Charles would comment in observation, smiling over to Shiki. "I personally prefer making mine with a little more butter, but that's honestly only a personal preference; your cookies are still very well made."

"Oh that was kind of you but if you're actually bothered you don't have to mind my feeling you know?" Shiki commented, but her tone definitely sounded genuinely peppy. "Considering someone did shout something hurtful or like... fainting upon sight of me, with their mouth foaming, I wouldn't be so offended with just a surprise!"
Though Charles soon explained what's going on exactly. "Oh, really! Oh, apologies for my presumption then! I thought you must be a veteran considering your age... never did I expect that you're new yourself! Must be a shock... Well, don't worry! I hope I'll be an example of how a Digimon of my size also can be... very excitable and quite an airhead!" she joked.
Upon hearing that Charles apparently helped hunting the Boarmon made Shiki chitters excitedly. "Oh my! I never thought-- oh, this is exciting! So I'm personally welcoming someone who kicked the boar's ugly hind for everyone in the forest? I'm very happy! Yes, yes, thank you for that!"
Oh? Pollen? "Oh, where are my manners, excuse me," she would gratefully took the handkerchief and cleaned her beak. Once it's clean she dropped this gem "There might be some honey there if you want to eat it, Charles. That's quite a delectable fiber I must say," she commented. "Perfect for snacking."
Oh, back problem? "Do you want acupuncture session after this, Charles? Just so you know, I happened to be quite skillful at it. I saw on the internet that apparently some humans believe that bee stings could be helpful. As long as you're not allergic to vespid stings, I think I could solve those problem. Don't worry though, I can control my toxin!"
Oh my, what a charmer. Shiki shyly cupped her face with her frontmost legs. "...ufufufu, a queen, no matter how insignificant, must act her part, my good sir. Regalness is given."
After the choice is made, the servants scattered and started to brew the tea while the two waited. "Oh, thank you for your praise. I tried to find so many hobbies to spend my time you see? Farming is necessity, I don't need to hunt for honey, I leave my brood doing so... Cooking is nice, but there are only so many things I can do myself when it comes to cooking. Baking, however, I found it to be much easier limb wise. More butter is it? I'll note it for our next meeting perhaps!"
...Already she's planning for the next meeting? Either way, Shiki doesn't seem to find anything strange with that. She popped a chocolate to her mouth and seem to melt at the taste. Her posterior waggling excitedly. "My my, what a delectable, elegant taste! Come, Charles! Let's eat!"

Charles chuckled at Shiki's joking around; smiling warmly in the vespid's direction. "Ah, no worries." He'd respond to her apology, waving a hand in a casual fashion. "While I have had a few surprises here and there while I adjusted to this world, I've actually been finding it all quite exciting." Charles mentioned with another brief chuckle, adding "I like to think that I've been needing this change of pace from the familiarity of the Human World for a long while, really. Home is nice, though I've never been one for being idle, personally."
Shiki's gratefulness, too, would bring a kind smile to Charles' face; the old man chuckling and nodding. "I was only doing what was right, to aid those that it was terrorizing and harming." He'd mention rather humbly; adding in mention "Thanks shouldn't go entirely to me, though. It was a group effort with me and my friends, after all; including this little one..."
As if on cue, the spirit Wanyamon would emerge from Charles; perched on his shoulder, tail briefly quivering in what might've been somewhat shaky nerves. Charles could tell the Wanyamon was a little nervous, underneath Shiki's gaze; though he'd reach up to pet the spirit, helping soothe it. "... To my understanding, Spirit Users' spirits are not usually quite as active as mine is, but... This little one is able to act independently of me, to a certain degree; and they tried their hardest, just as I did."
Charles blinked a bit at the mention of eating honey from the handkerchief, as well as the object in question having a 'delectable fiber', before chuckling gently. "Ah.. That handkerchief isn't meant to be eaten, technically." He'd mention, assuming that eating fibers like cloth was a vespid-digimon thing. "Humans don't usually eat cloth; that's just used to wipe things up and clean them." He'd briefly explain; adding "And the dyes in it probably wouldn't taste very good, anyhow."
The offer of acupuncture would make Charles blink once more; looking briefly unsure. "I... don't believe I've ever tried acupuncture before, to be honest..!" He'd remark with a soft laugh; scratching the back of his head. "It has always seemed a bit like it'd hurt, having needles put in you; especially if something's done wrong..." Humming, he'd pause; tilting his head in a thoughtful fashion as he added "The idea of receiving acupuncture from a digimon's stings, though, seems kind of interesting..."
As Shiki explained her difficulties finding hobbies, Charles would nod briefly; glancing out towards the crops, as she mentioned her farming. Baking seemed to be the easiest of hobbies for her; which made sense, to him. "Hm... Even if farming is a necessity for you, I could see you mixing things up by growing different varieties of flowers every once in awhile." He'd muse; adding "And flowers are quite beautiful to look at, even for those who don't drink nectar like you do."
He wasn't sure what all kinds of flowers existed in the Digital World, but... He could always get behind a nice golden or red flower like marigolds, himself..! The notion that Shiki was already looking forward to another meeting, too, was both an endearing and an encouraging thought; she really liked his company, didn't she?
... Just how lonely, was she, living out here like this? Charles paused briefly at the thought; thinking it over, though deciding against actually voicing it. It wasn't something that Shiki likely needed a reminder of, if she indeed was lonely. Him being here was enough, he was sure.
Instead, at the insect's insistence, Charles would chuckle; visibly endeared at the way Shiki wiggled in her excitement. "Okay, okay, I'm eating~" He'd laugh in response; reaching over to have a chocolate as well, once he finished the cookie he had taken. So many sweets; his teeth would have to forgive him for this, and he was glad that he packed a travel toothbrush whenever he came here, to the Digital World.
As he ate with Shiki, though, he'd think to himself for a bit - before glancing up towards the tree that Shiki lived in. "Your home; it's quite impressive, with just how large it is." He'd comment; before curiously questioning "Is it made with your larger form in mind? Or is it more sized for your current form?" The idea of the house being made for something much larger than him was a somewhat amusing one; given that it'd mean that he'd be practically in a giant's house, if she did invite him in..! "I'd presume that the tree portion itself is still alive, too, given how lush those leaves look; being able to live in harmony with nature like that is rather respectable."

"An adventuring old man, yet with young soul?" Shiki asked, sounding amused. "You know, I do like that sort of optimism. Digital World is dangerous, yet despite so, to find jewels here and there is the most important. How to say... I find the optimism and excitement very endearing?"
Hmmm, that's... that's interesting. "...I have lived for countless of years and years, yet this is the very first time I saw spirit able to take form like this... Interesting in many way. Well hello dear. Make yourself at home, you should!" at any rate, she then returned to the subject of handkerchief. "...Oh." that was the sheepish kind of 'oh'. "I thought you're of my kind, prefer fibers too as diet... Although this brings me a question how does you human get your fiber supply? Fibers are very important part of diet too isn't it? Although I guess too much and you might get constipation..."
Hurts? Definitely "It's definitely hurt if you stab it on wrong place. However, on the right place it stimulates healing. I happened to be very excellent on the former, but doesn't mean I'm no good at the latter~" Shiki joked. "Was that too on the nose? Well, at any rate, do tell me if you want to do it, Charles."
Flowers growing huh. "...Hmmm, this might sounds a bit odd to you, but... Farming to me is just like a way to fulfill my belly needs. Flower gardening including. Humans might appreciates the shapes of flowers and so, but as for me, because my vespid data, I only can see it as a food, albeit a basic kind. The tastes is what matters, not the shape or the colors... and in turn I guess I'm unable to appreciate entirely the shape or the beauty of colors like you do, albeit I do appreciate them for growing.
...But I think in the end it's matter of perspective. I think if you can teach me how to appreciate them as a whole rather than their value as a food, I'd like that." Although the vespid cannot show a smile, there's a softness in her tone that sounded as if she's smiling.
Shiki looked up, beaks smeared with chocolate and cookiecrumbs. "Oh, well, it's made with my preferred form in mind, which is my adult form. Yes, the tree is still very well and alive. Living in a treestump is admittedly easier, but I prefer to live in a living tree. It... felt like you're living together with your house rather than just living in it if you got what I mean."
She's definitely not aware of the chocolate smears, huh? But either way, her posterior keeps wiggling in glee at the taste of the chocolate.
"My, what an ambrosia this is. I must be careful, otherwise this might be a new addiction...!"

Shiki's amusement and endearment, in response to Charles' adventurous spirit, would make the old man briefly sheepish; chuckling shyly as he rubbed the back of his head. "Ah... I admit that I've been sticking to the safer portions of the Digital World, while I find my footing." He confessed somewhat humbly, adding "That Boarmon hunt was perhaps the closest I've put myself in danger, if I'm honest. Though, I do want to venture out to other parts of the Digital World, once I feel more comfortable out here."
Upon being greeted, the Wanyamon spirit would peer up to Shiki with wide eyes and perked ears - curious, even if they were initially unsure of the large vespid queen. Hopping from Charles' shoulder, they'd half-float their way to Shiki; perching on her head, and silently purring. With the physical contact, it was more than likely that she'd be able to 'feel' the Wanyamon spirit's emotions; with them appearing to be feeling quite content and friendly, eager to meet a new friend..!
Then, came the subject of the handkerchief. Her sheepish demeanor would cause Charles to smile warmly and patiently; briefly amused by the misunderstandings, though shook his head. "We get our fiber from eating vegetables and fruits, and certain types of grains and nuts." He'd explain to Shiki, briefly wondering if she'd appreciate some form of un-dyed cloth, as a snack...
As the vespid explained how acupuncture worked though, he'd scratch his chin a bit thoughtfully. "Hm.." He'd hum briefly to himself, thinking, before slowly nodding. "Maybe not during our first date; but if we decide to meet again, I'd be willing to give it a shot." He'd respond; smiling warmly to Shiki.
Then came the explanation of Shiki's views, on farming, as well as on flowers - which she had a hard time appreciating the shape or colors of, focusing more on the taste of them. Charles would nod along - smiling back to Shiki, at the proposal that he help her appreciate flowers as a whole, as well as the tone to her voice. "I'd be happy to help you learn to appreciate them. Even food can be beautiful, or even an art form for some, after all." He'd respond; smiling kindly to the small vespid.
So Shiki preferred her champion form, typically? Charles would briefly nod; unable to keep from smiling in amusement, at the chocolate and cookie crumbs stuck to her beak. "I think I get what you mean; being able to grow alongside your home, and living in harmony with it?" Charles would question in clarification, slowly nodding. "Like I said, I think that's quite respectable; and it makes for quite the beautiful house, with how healthy and lush the tree looks." He'd chuckle briefly, adding in joking "Though... I imagine your other form's size means that I'd be rather small, compared to the large furniture you must have..!"
Shiki's comments about the chocolate - it being an ambrosia, and potentially being addictive - would make him chuckle again. "Chocolate is quite delicious," He'd agree with a nod, adding "I'm happy that you like it. I picked it up from Rosewood, if you ever decide to head out there."
"And, ah..." Briefly pausing, Charles would almost make to lean forward, though paused partway- realizing he was getting perhaps a bit too casual with Shiki, closing in on her without asking first. "You've got a little something on your mouth - mind if I get it?" He'd ask - wanting to get permission before he got close to her. If she granted him permission, Charles would offer her a warm smile - leaning in proper with the handkerchief, to wipe off the smears of chocolate and bits of stuck cookie crumbs. "There we are.."
