It had been a while since Amy had allowed herself to enjoy normal people things. Shortening what's probably a lengthy topic, the fact that she still found herself struggling against what entails to run a whole city, her own inner demons, and other miscellaneous affairs had taken most of her time recently, but... she still remembered every now and then about the truly worthwhile things in life.
Like cheering a friend who felt down due to a combination of circumstances that had ended with her suprisingly enjoying singledom. She felt it was partly her fault, considering the circumstances behind it all, but... better to not think about that.
In all honesty, she was kinda sick and tired of having depressive thoughts.
After parking her car, she found herself walking down the street that led to the one and only Akemi Amaya's house, all while holding the hand of a young man that, funnily enough, used to be shorter than her; that wasn't the case anymore.
Probably for the best, all things considered. The image had been a bit awkward before, and she still could reach the cupboards just fine. No harm, no foul! Of course, given the situation, he was more than aware of the plan. A friendly hangout to ease the pain of a sudden rejection.
"Think we can make her feel better?" She idly asked, somewhat basking in the intimacy of such a delicate moment.
"Of course we will! Daddy can do anything!" Except... it wasn't intimate at all. Little Loire's arms were pretty much attached to her "daddy's" waist like a tick, and she seemed like she was unwilling to let go, no matter what. "That's why she convinced you to bring me along! Daddy's the best!"
The brunette resisted the urge to both sigh and massage her temples at the accusing tone. Sure, Amy loved the small digimon to bits, but when she was with Asher she suddenly became a handful. Wonder why.
It was a good thing the group was now by the door of their friend. Amelie herself wasn't sure about how much more she could withstand the current situation. Unceremoniously, she rang the bell.
"Hope she's ready. We still have a bit of a trip towards the park." With any luck, they wouldn't have to extract the small girl out of her house! If she felt particularly sad, they could always use an ice cream tube as bait.

It seemed like a nice day to get out, and hopefully enjoy the sun. From the sounds of things, it seemed like just about everyone needed a moment to relax! Between daily stresses of human and digital worlds, and a certain girl's recent heartbreak, they could definitely use a stress-free moment!
Though, perhaps the eel in the group made things a little less relaxing than it ideally could be! Placing a hand on his 'daughter's' head, the teen cast a grin to Amelie. "I think you're the one that can do anything, here." What? Asher being a nice boyfriend? Since when?
He probably knew better than to test Amy's patience, really. It looked like Loire might already be doing that!
"If she's not ready, we can always send Loire in to get her," the redhead commented, cheerfully. Surely, Loire would love that! And Akemi! And, Amy might just for the sake of having thirty seconds of 'alone' time! But, once Akemi could join, the 'family' gathering would be ready to start properly! Akemi could totally count as extended family somehow, right? Wouldn't be the most outlandish thing to think, after all. Especially considering an eel monster was the daughter in this family!
But for now, they'd wait to see if the small tamer would come out on her own, or need a little bit of assistance.

Heartbreak was a rather complex issue to approach from every angle. The victim here generally wanted to be left to her own devices for a bit, but there were many a party that opted to disregard this. It wasn't like they didn't have a reason behind it. Without getting too deep into specifics and for sanity's sake, Akemi wasn't really taking this well, even some time after...uh. That.
Akemi barely even registered the fact that Amelie and Asher were taking her out for the day. In fact...did she even remember they were doing that? She had legitimately just been spending the day on her lonesome (everybody in the house had something to do. Even Anzu, who seemed quite in the hurry to head out, and Shizu, who...seemed to have fallen victim to something Amy was pulling? She wasn't all too sure on that front.) But, she did at least plan on going out. At least for a walk. Find a nice and quiet spot and spend some time peoplewatching.
So, she was at the very least dressed. Descending from her room, she heard conversation in the otherwise dead-silent house. Well, conversation from the front door. The slightly tallest Amaya moved to the front to answer the door, only to find...
Amelie, Asher, and their kid? Honestly, to them, Akemi probably looked like she had not gotten a lot of sleep, but otherwise looked...about as normal as can be? "Uh...Can I help you...?"

Funny 'family' antics aside, Amelie managed to reply her boyfriend's smile in kind and then nod at his compliment. And that was despite the fact that Loire was pouting regarding how her comment had been repurposed as a compliment towards her competition mother!
"Hey, that's not fair! You're a compliment stealer, daddy! At least get yourself something a bit more original if you wanna flatter Mom-Amy!!" Oh well, at least that had managed to distract the eel for long enough to Akemi to make presence known in front of the 'happy' family.
In all honesty? She kinda looked like she probably needed a pillow more than an outing, but she wouldn't be given none of that. And that wasn't even when mentioning the fact that Loire promptly de-attached herself from Asher's waist just to launch herself towards the short-yet-taller girl's arms in what was probably a pretty upbeat embrace.
"Aunt Kemi!" She greeted, energetically. "It's been so long since the last time I've seen you! How have you been?"
It seemed like somebody was maybe a little bit too excited regarding meeting somebody who was totally her aunt now. Hopefully Akemi would be able to keep pace with her! And, even if she wasn't able to, she'd gaze upon a smirking Amy at the very least. Shared experiences would probably forewarn the girl that she was up to no good.
"Pack your swimsuit. We're going to the water park. And you're definitely coming with us. You can ask any questions you might have while on our way."
"Yes! Come with us, aunt Kemi! We'll have lots of fun together!"
Right now, it was kinda hard to tell. What would Akemi do?

Grin turned to a smirk at his 'daughter's' displeasure at his thievery of compliments. "What can I say? You come up with such good compliments, I need to use them, too!" Would the holosuited girl have any argument to place here? It was sort of a compliment, right? And Loire did like attention from her parental figure!
Though, with Akemi answering the door, and Asher's body being freed from the tiny eel monster, there was an almost inaudible sigh of relief. In the same instant? He'd move to take hold of his girlfriend's hand. Yes. Relief in the fact that he might have thirty seconds to actually have physical contact with Amy, without a pouty child! Hopefully, Loire could stay focused on Akemi for a few more minutes, at the least! Or, maybe they could hold hands! In the way that friends (or children with irresponsible adults) do, of course. Loire wasn't allowed to date at her age! And, frankly? Akemi did not look to be in any shape to date. Even if it was just from potential sleep deprivation!
Was it rude for him to want to hold his girlfriend's hand in front of her? Oops.
Either way, Akemi had better not fall asleep in the wave pool, or something! But, Asher would let Amelie and Loire do all the talking for the time being. There wasn't too much more he could add into their demands, after all! And he doubted their was much Akemi could do to reject the demands, short of shutting the door in their faces. Which, everyone surely knew wouldn't end with that, even if she tried!

Thoughts on her appearance and potential sleep deprivation for reasons that might or might not be disclosed at a later date or time, Akemi was legitimately surprised to see Amelie and Asher. And, most of all...
Little Loire. The eel-like creature wearing the skin of a human. Akemi had opted to answer the eel about as...truthfully as she could. Without just up and shattering the little critter's heart. "I've been better. I mean...I think I'm doing fine?" Would that suffice? Probably not, Loire didn't seem like she'd take something as concise as that for an answer.
Anyways. Onto the main meat of things(?). Amelie had come to ask firmly demand Akemi grab a swimsuit because they were going to the waterpark. Now, she would normally be inclined to ask why, but she could definitely do that later, because she sure as hell wanted to know why her. Because from what she could see?
The family here could've just gone by themselves.
They legitimately could have just let her be and gone by themselves. So why her?
"I did have one set aside...You'll need to give me a minute." Akemi uttered, quietly, before she shut the door again. A few minutes would pass before she opened up with a backpack in tow. "Right, ready."
Hopefully nothing transpired in those few minutes.

Asher was cheating super badly, and Loire definitely wanted to denounce such a foul act, but then... the praise made her stop in her tracks. Could she really bring her to do it? Not anymore, seemingly! Her otherwise pouty face was quickly replaced by a satisfied smile at the compliment from her parental unit. Apparently, Asher had gotten god at reigning his daughter!
If only Amy had it as easy as him. Oh well; it wasn't like she could complain a lot about it. At least she enjoyed the small moment of respite that Akemi was giving them by enjoying a small act such as holding hands. Her sigh was much more audible than her boyfriend's, even if her sight was focused on how the small child and her 'aunt' interacted with each other.
From her place in Akemi's arms, Loire herself didn't seem to mind the small brunette's response in the slightest! Overall, she looked like she was pretty happy at the chance of hanging out with Kemi. "I'm glad you're doing fine. We're doing super fine here as well! And we're gonna be even better once we get to the water park!"
It came as no surprise that the eel was more than excited about the prospect, but could she really be blamed? As a primarily aquatic digimon, and having into account her usual personality around non-Amy beings, it was pretty easy to infer that she was looking forward to this.
Thus, the group awaited once again at Akemi's doorstep until she emerged again. Luckily, Loire's excitement prevented her from attaching herself to Asher's waist once again, so the couple behind her enjoyed some quiet couple moments before she emerged back again.
"Well, it seems like we're ready." Amy finally said, looking at Akemi once again. Her free hand dug into her jean's pocket, retrieving her car's keys and handling them to Asher. "Hope you didn't think I was gonna drive all the way there. It's your turn now." A small smirk took over her features as the group would hopefully march back to her car.
It was just then that the smallest brunette noticed the absence of a certain rotund bean. "Why did aunt Anzu decide she wasn't coming? I wanted to see her as well!" She idly asked, not thinking much of it.
For Amy, it seemed like a weird decision, but maybe she just didn't feel like dealing with an overexcited child. She could totally understand that.

At least Asher already felt he'd won enough times today, to settle for whatever tricks Loire might pull once they reached the waterpark! After 'winning' in stealing her compliment, and then getting to hold his girlfriend's hand while the eel was distracted with harassing other small girls, it was probably the most success he could expect to get. The luck had to run out eventually, right?
Unless Loire would cling to Akemi the whole trip. Which, honestly, Asher would not mind in the slightest. Being a parent to an eel was, probably unsurprisingly, a lot of effort.
Luckily(?), it seemed that there was nothing exciting for Akemi to open the door to, once she'd collected her swimsuit. Just Loire, and her parents, waiting as uneventfully as possible. Which was a little surprising, actually! But, probably a good thing, considering Asher wasn't entirely sure how a heartbroken girl would handle too much energy at once.
As they began toward the car, Asher took the keys, while putting on an overly dramatic frown, emitting a deep sigh. "Well, I guess if I have to," he huffed, before demeanor flipped back to a smile. Spinning the key between his fingertips, he added, "you know how I feel about driving your car." Which translated into?
Asher really liked driving. Amy's car was no exception.
"Are you alright with sitting by Loire, Akemi?" After all, who would have any issue keeping the eel company for a whole ride? Aside from Amy. Maybe, that was part of why Amelie had invited Akemi! Distractions everywhere!
Either way, upon reaching the car, he'd take a seat on the driver's side, waiting for everyone to settle their spots in the vehicle.

Loire had turned out to be quite a perplexing critter, all things considered. Akemi was honestly expecting some sort of reprimand for being a downer. Not getting that...well, that could be taken many ways. But it was okay for the moment. Then again...Loire was a child. She didn't expect the eel to really...grasp the fact Akemi wasn't necessarily at 100%.
Either way, going back up for those few minutes involved actually picking out a swimsuit she liked or, rather thought would make her look okay. It's just an outing with friends, no need to start busting things picked out by a salacious degenerate of a clam that honestly deserved a kick in the slime part or anything. Right?
Anyways, she came back down and watched as Amelie just saddled the task of driving to Asher. Made sense. Akemi glanced towards Loire. "She had something to do involving a close friend of hers. It's...pretty important to her, so she had to go early. I'm sure she'd have been glad to see you, though." She told the eel-in-disguise, quietly. Amy and Asher could probably make a few inferences based on who they considered to be a close friend of Anzu's, as well as what month it was.
Loire herself probably didn't get it.
"I'm fine with it. I can probably guess why I'm coming along, so...why not." It was probably not to deal with Loire the entire time, but she was fine with keeping the eel company. Akemi hopped in the car and took her seat by Loire, clicking a seatbelt and waiting for the ride to get going.

Overall? Things couldn't go better than what they were doing at the moment. Sure, the trio of visitors had to deal with a heartbroken girl, but with the circumstances behind their visit aside, everything was more or less fine, right? In any case...
"I do." Amy responded to her boyfriend's comment. Of course she remembered he liked to drive. How could she forget about it? "But I also wanted to be dramatic. That's why you have to play along, you know?" Else the point of this conversation would be lost.
Of course, the brunette's manner of speech was good enough at telling that she wasn't being serious about this whole deal. Just the usual banter between her boyfriend and herself, even in moments like these, she couldn't but wonder... could it really be considered 'usual' anymore?
Not like those thoughts should be given a lot of relevancy at the moment. They were here, and despite the many reasons why one or more people present weren't feeling at the very best, they were determined to have fun. And that's what mattered in the end.
Meanwhile... "Ooooh~." Loire's curiosity regarding this kind of issue was almost feline in nature. Maybe an inherited trait from one of her parents? Hard to tell! "A close friend? Do I know her?" The flurry of questions was, understandably, never ending. "Do I know her? Are they on a date!? Does that mean I'll have another aunt soon!!?"
Oh no. She veritably wasn't stopping. Loire sounded more and more excited with each passing question. "I wanted to go on a blind date for Valentine's, but Mom-I mean, Amy didn't let me go, she said I was-"
"Way too young. You're not dating anyone at your age. You have a lot of maturing to do." Even if it didn't look like it, the tallest brunette had been hearing the conversation all along. "You should wait at least one year or two before even considering the possibility."
Obviously, that didn't sit well with the digimon at all. "Yikes forever." She replied, displeasure evident on both her voice and expression. "I'm not a kid anymore! I'm a little lady, you know."
Luckily, the group had found themselves beside the car somewhat quickly, and now everyone was boarding it. Good, because Amy was totally done with the topic! She wasn't playing her daughter's game... even though that, once again, she became distracted by Akemi's words. "You do!? Why are you coming along, aunt Kemi? Are you on some sort of secret mission to save the world? Please tell me!"
There was no end to her energy, that was for sure.

So far, it seemed that even Loire knew better than to make Akemi feel worse about not feeling great already! The faux-parents should be proud of their tiny eel-monster-child! On top of that, Amy should be proud of Asher! Because she had left such a good opening for him to make her mad with him, about her need to be dramatic! But, he managed to resist. It was supposed to be a good day!
And, he still didn't forget a year prior, when she tried to subtly murder him with a beverage.
"Did I play along well enough, or should I pretend to hate it for a while longer?" Maybe, this was the safest response.
While everyone worked on piling into the car, Asher would eavesdrop a bit on the conversation between eel and small human. Should he feel bad that Akemi was going to be subjected to a million questions during this trip? Maybe. But, there was a chance that it was a good thing. After all, it was really hard to focus on moping, when someone was asking every question possible, non-stop!
At least the questions would stop for thirty seconds, while Loire daydreamed about getting to go on her own date. Yikes forever, indeed.
...If Loire could have had a date this year, that probably would have been the poor subject's exact thought, too!
Once they were set, the redhead would begin driving to their destination. What could go wrong with everyone trapped in the car with such an energetic eel? Absolutely nothing, that was for sure! But, after the 'child' could inquire about Akemi's reasoning for being there, the spirit user had to add his own chime of, "yes, Aunt Kemi, what top secret mission are you on now?"
This was probably a decent example of why Loire liked her 'dad' so much, wasn't it?

Putting all of her focus on the Unagimon meant that Akemi didn't really pay too much attention to Asher and Amelie for the moment. Which was..actually necessary in order to process the endless number of questions she had for her.
Truth be told, she didn't even need to focus on why she was so...upset this week, too. "You know Jazz, right? Katherine's Lopmon?" She leaned in closer to whisper to Loire, "Anzu asked her out on a date and she needs you to wish her luck to succeed." Yes, this was how to entertain an eel pretending to be a human.
"So...yeah, you might have another aunt soon...Unless Jazz is already your aunt?" This might be a headache and a half to figure out. As for why she was coming along? "...Well, I think your mother dragged me along so I could get some fresh air. I've...um. I've not been having the nicest month so far, so...I-I guess I could really use it. It's not a mission or anything, honest..."

For one, Amy was pretty satisfied at the fact that her boyfriend was uncharacteristically cooperative. Sure, he had to make it obvious in a decidedly Asher-y way. So, how was she supposed to answer when being teased in such an overt way? With a satisfied smile, of course!
“For a long as you want. You won’t see me complaining any time soon~.” Who would, in all honesty? Sides Asher himself, but he totally didn’t count for the purposes of this question. Completely fair, right?
On the other hand, Loire seemed to be enjoying her aunt’s presence to a great degree! Was she unaware of Akemi’s less-than-ideal disposition, or maybe she was trying to cheer her up on her own, childish way? It was hard to tell at the moment, just as to whether such a method was working or not.
Ultimately, that didn’t matter for her, as she was already enjoying the short teenager’s company. It came without saying that her expression changed into utter surprise as soon as the ‘secret’ that the date between Anzu and Jazz was supposed to be came into light. “Those are awesome news! I always thought there was something special between aunts Jazz and Anzu! After all, it takes a very special kind of partnership to jogress, you know? I wish I could have such a connection with someone someday~.” If anyone was watching Amy at the moment, they’d notice she was rolling her eyes. Luckily, Loire wasn’t! “But yes! Anzu, Jazz, Katherine, Sasha and you are my aunts! And that’s whether you like it or not.”
Given her cheerful tone, it was hard to think she believed any different. On the mention of Akemi feeling less-than-optimal, Loire herself looked down, a bit sad herself. At least for an instant! Right afterward her expression was filled with determination. “Then, I’ll make it my secret mission to ensure you have the best day ever today, aunt Kemi! That way, you’ll feel better and everyone will be happy. How does that sound?”
How would such a mission go? It was hard to tell. For now, The tallest brunette was subtly gesturing at her boyfriend to let him know that she wasn’t sure if she had to be worried about this situation or not.
How much til they arrived, anyway? They should be pretty close by now, right?

So far, so good! Aside from Akemi, understandably, being in a less-than-ideal mood, it seemed like things were going pretty well. Granted, they hadn't even made it to the waterpark yet. But, once they were there, it really couldn't go poorly, right? And nobody had even needed to drag Akemi literally from her house to get this far! Though, it was fairly obvious that Loire would have been more than willing.
Could anyone actually stay in a bad mood when Loire was around, though? Aside from maybe Amy, who was 'forced' to live with the eel, that is. Maybe the magic wore off if trapped in the same house for extended periods!
Hearing Loire list off her aunts, Asher had to add, "isn't Whiskers your aunt, too?" The eel certainly had quite the list of 'relatives', didn't she? Though Asher couldn't imagine that anyone would decline the role. Not that it seemed anyone had much choice!
And, listening to Loire also provided enough entertainment to get through a lot of this ride pretty easily! Or, easily for Asher. He wasn't the one being bombarded with questions or explanations! Glancing at his girlfriend's gestures, at their 'daughter's' new mission, he gave a small shrug and a slightly dismissive wave.
It'd be fine! Probably! Really, what was the worst thing that could happen out of such a goal?
Okay, there were probably a lot of things that could happen, considering the person [eel?] with that goal. But he was going to make a point to not think too much on it! Given, it wasn't much of a secret mission, when everyone in the car was aware of it, so Loire had already foiled that part of her own plan! Would anyone be willing to burst her bubble? Certainly not Asher.
It wasn't like there was too much time left to this car ride, anyway. At this point in the trip, it was really just a matter of finding a parking spot, and then? Then, it was waterpark time! And, once a spot was acquired, the redhead threw the vehicle into park, turning to look at the passengers. "We're here!" Would they be excited? They had better be!

For what it was worth, despite Akemi's mood, there was something interesting (or, even fun if one would call it that) about trying to talk to Loire. It was an interesting look as to how a baby Digimon would grow up if they were raised by Amelie, which...
Uh.
That was probably already telling enough, right? While she had nothing to disagree with regarding who Loire's aunts were, she did have some commentary to give her regarding Anzu and Jazz. "I did kind of suspect there was...something going on on Anzu's end before they fused. And who knows? You're still pretty small, and you've got a lot of growing up to do." A pause.
"I'm trying to say you've got plenty of time there. ...S-Sorry, I'm not great with words sometimes."
...
Akemi did look a little concerned at Loire's declaration, though. She really didn't have to go to any lengths to try making her feel better. No, really, the disguised eel had no obligation to do anything. "While I'm...fine with that, you don't have to do that. Just getting to spend time with you and your parents makes me feel happy." A simple admission, but...was that the whole truth?
Akemi glanced out the window. Where's the waterpark at, huh?
