Considering the circumstances, it was hard to deny this was a relatively merry gathering! Loire was, without a doubt, the soul of the group; the mood wouldn’t be too gloomy in her watch. Right?
However, it seemed like the child had made a critical misstep. She’d totally forgotten to list one of her aunts! For a moment, an utterly mortified expression took over the disguised eel’s features. “Whoops.” It had been a good-intentioned mistake. Or something! “Please don’t tell her? Sides, it’s totally her fault for not coming! Why did she decide to not, anyway?”
Had Asher ever mentioned the reason for Whiskers’ absence? It was probably pretty easy to guess, given that she was a cat, but… Loire didn’t necessarily know the small nuances in regards to felines and water.
At least everything had gone more or less smoothly so far. If Asher didn’t think this situation was worthy of concern, then chances were that it wasn’t. Right?
Speaking of which…
“Right? I could see the spark on both their eyes from the start! It’s like they’re star-crossed lovers or something!” Maybe a little too romantic, but could a small girl be blamed for that? Probably not. In the end, she ended up looking at Akemi with a pretty puzzled expression. She felt like she needed to comment on it, but instead she let it go, only to focus on what really mattered!
“Of course I don’t have to, dummo!” Wow, talk about sass! Maybe the little eel had learned one or two things from her surrogate mother… that weren’t necessarily good things. “Helping each other is what friends do because that’s what friends for. I want aunt Akemi to be the happiest!”
She wasn’t going to go back on her proposal, was she? It seemed that, at least on this notion, she was going to be both naive and a bit pushy. Would that be fine? At least for the time being, that didn’t seem to matter a lot, considering that they had finally arrived.
“Well, that was quite the trip!” Amy said in an effort to calm any possible tension that might’ve been. “Let’s get changed and begin with the fun! Where would you like to go first, Akemi?”
With any luck, that’d do the trick, at least for the time being.

"Well," Asher drew out the word, while debating how he wanted to explain to an eel that it was entirely possible that some creatures hated water. "Whiskers isn't a very good swimmer." And an eel most certainly wouldn't be able to teach a cat to swim! Or teach a cat to be willing to get into water, at that!
As far as Loire's next comment, on the romance of certain Digimon, the young man had to cast a glance to his girlfriend. With that sentence, there was no doubt that Amy had heavily raised the child! The redhead would just let Akemi deal with Loire on the topics of romance, and how she definitely needed to be older before she pursued anything of the sort!
On second thought, maybe he should have brought Whiskers. If only to save Akemi from dealing so much with the eel! And, to save her from being called a dummo.
Asher would just have to resign to the potential fate of distracting Loire later on, so that Akemi could actually relax and enjoy the trip. Who really knew what the Digimon would do to ensure her aunt could have the best day, after all! Hopefully, nothing that would leave the poor girl in a worse state than she had begun the trip in! Wouldn't that be awful?
At least they'd arrived, and the waterpark was within reach! Or, maybe within-walking-distance. Asher wasn't going to park someone's car close enough that they could literally reach out and touch the park. That would probably result in a towed vehicle! "It wasn't that bad," the redhead shrugged, while listening to Amy's plan. Get changed, then go whereever Akemi's heart desired! Unless it was home. Any requests to go back home would be ignored entirely!
The first step to enacting this plan, of course, involved getting out of the vehicle. Thus, Asher would slowly open the driver's door, and get out of the car. Soon enough, they could all be changed and ready to enjoy the park!

"The secret lies safe with me." Akemi nodded a few times as she uttered that. She didn't think she should be the one to say the obvious in that...well. Cats were cats. They were unpredictable and a hassle as a result.
Whiskers might have been no different in deciding not to come with them.
"...Loire...Um. Do you know what that term means? Star-crossed lovers, I mean. Because you're...kind of implying something's going to keep them from each other. Until they die." This was a topic that Akemi could probably broach with Loire. Weird as it may be. It was mostly just going to be correcting terminology, wasn't it?
"More love at first sight." Stupid.
But the kid'd buy it, right?
Right?
"...Thanks."
Akemi meanwhile opted to open the door and exit SWIFTLY. ...Seriously, a nice day at a waterpark couldn't exactly be delayed, right? Especially not by a goddamn car door.

“Oh. That’s sad.” Loire replied to her father, a bit pensive regarding that matter. “She’s so fun to hang out with! I wish she could have come. Could’ve given her some tips on swimming!” Of course the eel would be all over teaching others how to do so. Nothing unexpected there. Amy gave her boyfriend a look, and that’d be everything he’d need to know; he was alone in this fight. There was no way she was getting involved in that.
Luckily, the trip would end soon, and hopefully that’d also mark the end of Loire’s indirectly awkward comments. “It really wasn’t.” Amy replied right afterward. “I dunno why, but… it kinda feels like it took forever, though. Wonder why.”
Definitely not a playful, yet indirect jab at nobody in particular! It was only then when the smallest being around noticed her blunder. Was it a blunder? Maybe she just liked using big words to describe the fantastic thing that love was. “Is that so? That’s so bad! Forget I said that, then! I hope they can live happily forever~.”
A somewhat blunt apology, but could anyone really hold her to that? Probably.
“Why don’t we try one of the water slides first?” A good enough way to break the ice, probably. “Anyone got any preferences? Else we can just try the orange one over there.”
A finger pointed out at the attraction; it wasn’t the tallest slide, or the one with the sharpest turns, which, in hindsight, made some sense. “Once everyone’s finished changing, we can meet there. How does that sound?”
With any luck, everyone would agree! As far as she could tell at the moment, Loire was just expected for her dad to give his input on the matter before piping on her own. Not the most surprising development.

"I'm sure she'll be happy if you just have a lot of fun for her." Would that work? Loire having a great day, and Whiskers not having to worry about a crash course in swimming any time soon? Surely, it was a sentiment that everyone could appreciate!
Hearing his girlfriend's comment, Asher gave an innocent shrug. "No idea." Not a single one, nope.
At least nobody was going to have to worry about star-crossed lovers coming up in the conversation again. Or, it didn't seem like they would. Akemi had stomped out that thought pretty well, Asher thought! Had Loire even watched or read Romeo and Juliet? Even if she had, it was clear that the theme hadn't really stuck. Which was probably for the best at her (somewhat questionable) age, anyway.
"Orange slide sounds fine to me." For once, Asher seemed to be rather reasonable! Not even a bit of faux fussing! Perhaps, for Akemi's sake. She already had to deal with Loire while not in the most ideal moods. Nobody should want to deal with Loire and Asher being difficult! Except, maybe, Amy. But, that was probably the only exception to the statement!
Even though, if Akemi's mood improved too much, she'd probably have to deal with both the eel and the spirit user broadcasting their obnoxious personalities. Tragic. The price to pay when happy, right?
As long as Akemi and Loire were also alright with the slide-choice, Asher would give another nod to Amelie's plan, before preparing to head off and change on his own. Because, he was the only guy among the group! And nobody really needed to go into detail as to why he'd have a separate changing room. That'd just be weird!
Either way, it seemed the redhead was fine with going along with whatever plan (at least for the time being), and would meet them at whatever slide was designated the absolute best by the two shortest members of this little party!

Yes, it was quite unfortunate when one's attempts to look COOL in front of their aunt ended up in a blunder, but Akemi couldn't help but snicker a little. "I think they'll be fine." Jazz -was- kind of the one person that Anzu didn't go out of her way to be an absolute goblin to. So, realistically, there was some hope for the girls.
Not a lot. But some. No matter what, though? They had business to get to. Involving...slides and stuff. Yeah. Things that you unironically had to ride to have fun in a waterpark. "Sounds like a pretty good place to start, but you need to consider...uh. Is there one orange slide or a bunch?"
Or, god forbid. They were all orange.
Atrocious.
Either way, she would go off to get changed without so much as another word. And hopefully not be harassed on the way there by any eels. Or Frenchwomen. Or french eels. That'd be horrid!

“Will do, then!” Was Loire’s excited answer. “I’ll make aunt Whiskers the happiest digimon ever!” Loire herself wasn’t sure of how making others happy by having fun worked, but if daddy said it, it was probably one of the truest statements in the whole universe.
Amelie proceeded to shrug in tandem with her boyfriend; at least everyone had agreed to her suggestion! With a loose plan regarding their next steps, Amy took Loire’s hand within hers and began marching to the girls’ changing room.
Prompted by Akemi’s question, the disguised eel gazed in the direction Amy had pointed moments ago. “I think there’s only one orange slide! But there’s one that's dark red and could totally look the same in the evening. Wanna try that one after the orange one, aunt Kemi?”
The digimon’s parent turned around to gaze at the slide, color draining from her face right afterward. That one… seemed like a textbook example of something she didn’t want to mess with. With any luck, that idea would be promptly rejected by Kemi!
Everyone eventually got changed into their swimsuits and converged by the foot of the orange slide. Seemingly out of the blue, the young woman gave Asher a look. “Looking good over there. Ever told you that swimsuits fit you quite well?” A seemingly random compliment, but maybe deserved given how Asher seemed to be making an effort at not being his usual ‘unsufferable’ self. Hopefully it wouldn't create an opening for that! “Take we’re all ready? Let’s go!”
Without much ado, the brunette was the first to begin her descent towards the pool below, while Loire seemed expectant on what Asher would do. It was hard to tell what would Akemi do, but that was mostly due to her current cryptic nature. Would they all follow on short order, or maybe they were waiting for something else?
Would they expect the small surprise that awaited them at the bottom of the slide? Well, maybe calling it a surprise was a bit of an overstatement, but it was certainly something that could spice things up!

The inquiry about multiple orange slides made Asher freeze. Right. Colors could repeat. Wow, such smart. Should they really allow him to drive a car? Luckily, there was only one orange slide, and Asher wouldn't be an idiot for blindly agreeing and then getting lost! An idiot for some other reason throughout the day, though? Inevitable.
He'd leave Loire to try to rope Akemi into taking the red (and definitely not also orange) slide after their first ride. Maybe, Akemi would become Loire's best friend for the day, and everyone would be happy! Hopefully the small tamer liked children. Eel children, at that! If not, this would be an even longer day for the already unhappy-looking girl!
Once at the slide, the redhead would await the girls arrival. Which surely took longer because somehow guys had magical powers when it came to changing clothes. Or, just less clothing to change into. Whatever. What was truly important was that Amy was giving him a compliment! Was this reward for not being insufferable?
Was he going to respond with something insufferable? ...It was tempting. But for once, no. "Thanks," he chuckled, "I could say the same about you." Or about anyone that wore a swimsuit in their size. They surely all fit quite well!
With everyone present, and nobody wanting to keep Loire waiting too long, they would begin their adventure! Asher would, as a good parental figure, first make sure that Loire was ready to go down the slide, before he would descend himself. After all, what else were they going to do?
Granted, he had no idea what surprise could await the bottom of the slide, considering it was a slide. It went into water most likely. Or lava. If it were the latter, it wouldn't be his problem anymore! So, it was probably just water.
