Ride the Lightning:
Their earlier trips to the Digital World was things that Zachary had begun to enjoy. After years of reading and dreaming of far-off worlds, he had the chance to really explore a real one. Though a Digital World, it just filled him with great possibilities. After their trek through the Trailmon tunnels leading to the Digital World, they had found a new power. Once they found it, it shot into Zachary's Digivice and produced itself as a card. The same kind of cards that could use in his Digivice. He had no clue what this "Digimental" or whatever it was could do, but it was something that called out to him and wanted him to hold it. How could he say no?
Afterward, they rode the Trailmon up to the "Core" of the Digital World, where they soon reached the Network Plains. It was an untouched and pure wilderness. Zachary felt compelled to explore it, even though it was roughly just tall grass that reached up to his knees. It reminded him of the winding hills of Norway or even Africa if it was more barren. Though he never been to the latter, he had seen pictures in books and videos online. Beside him was Panthermon, the vigilant black jaguar Digimon born from his own imagination and dreams. The Panther Digimon seemed very lively as he walked across the soft grass, his body half-submerged in the soft grass. Both of them loving the view of the wide planes.
"This is an odd choice to stop," Panthermon commented to Zachary as the human looked over the horizon. "Wouldn't you rather ride that train to a more inhabited location?"
Zachary just stifled a chuckle for himself. "When you are exploring a new world, might as well travel the road less traveled, ya know?" he said with excitement as he observed the planes. "This is stuff I would dream about. Even when I traveled the world with my parents, it didn't make me stop thinking of these possibilities. " he mentioned.
Panthermon for one listened to the wind and soft shuffle of the grass. "Not that I am complaining, mind you," the cat purred and flexed his claws on the soft soil. "This is a change. No city noise. No masses of people. It's ... peaceful," he observed.
A smile showed on Zachary's face as he agreed. He took a moment and enjoyed it. Even though it was a digital world-- with a few 'circuit board' shadows shown in the sky above, and some patches of 'ground' that looked like matrix lines, it didn't seem synthetic. The feel of the wind, the sound, the smell even-- all seemed to be undeniably real and just as convincing. Though Zachary had notions of "The Matrix" that might bring up moral implications of what is real and what isn't... it still was an amazing sight.
Being the one to break the silence, Panthermon let out a soft growl. "Now that we are here... why don't we test out that new card. If it really is a Digimental, might as well see what it can do," the cat said as he looked to his Tamer.
"Huh? Oh, right," Zachary said as he took out the Digimental of Friendship card and raised up his D-Power Digivice. This time, with the intent to use it, he swiped the card through, and the screen of the Digivice shined with a briliant, electric blue light. "Digi-mental up!"
With a powerful roar for a Jaguar, Panthermon's form was coated by electricity as his form began to change under the electric light. He grew larger within seconds, his body becoming over twice his normal size. His mass grew too with more muscle and the lightning began to form more on certain parts of his body. As it ended, his form revealed to be that of a large black tiger with dark blue and black armor-- with stripes like lightning bolts on it. The main body too had ashened stripes. He looked like a massive sabertooth tiger in a shade of night, parts of his body covered in armor with blades attached to them-- some extended out, looking dangerous. His face was covered by a mask-- just as fierce and protected, his eyes emiting an electric flash every once in a while.
As the energy dissipated, Zachary was in awe as he saw his partner transformed into some sort of super-tiger with rad armor and lightning crackling off his body. "Wow... Bagheeramon, huh? That's awesome!" he said as he looked over his partner's new form. "How do you feel?"
The tiger let out a growl as he stepped around a bit in a circle around his partner. "Interesting. Full of energy, rather light on my feet. It feels good," the cat said as he looked out at the field ahead. "Well, might as well make some use of it..."
It was then that the giant tiger lowered himself on the grass before Zachary. He looked up to Zachary, as if expecting him to do something. However, Zachary was a bit hesitant of the tiger's gesture. "Um, Panthermon... what are you doing?" he asked.
"What do you think?" he replied sarcastically, "Get on my back."
"What?" Zachary said, backing up a bit. He was a bit hesitant riding a massive tiger, especially with the bits of Electricity that danced off his armor and body. "Um, you sure that's safe? I mean you won't shock me?"
"Of course not. Come on." the tiger insisted.
A hum escaped Zachary as he bit his lower lip. Slowly, he approached and placed a hand on Bagheeramon's back. Luckily, he felt no electric shock. Despite his unease, Zachary jumped up and swung himself onto the tiger's back. As he secured himself on his back, he was positioned on the side of the armor on the cat's upper back.
"Comfy?" the tiger growled playfully, teasing Zachary with sarcasm. "You better hold on tight."
"Oh god..." Zachary groaned as he grabbed the armor plating as tight as he could and dug his heels to keep his legs secure.
The tiger let out a fierce growl and pounced forward! It was like a car going from zero to 88 MPH in a second as Zachary felt himself jerk. His grip almost weakened as he held on for dear life. The wind pressed to his face as the tiger charged through the field, leaving a trail of lightning behind him as he ran at full speed.
With one free hand to reach up, he pulled down his goggles to cover his eyes. Bagheeramon was the fastest creature he ever seen. He easily sprinted past the hills, and soon could see a trailmon -- to which he soon outran with its superior speed.
"Whooooo!!" Zachary cried out with excitement, now feeling the 'high' of moving so fast.
