The town of Rustport in the Western Flatlands was about as expected for Gaz the Gazimon. This was her third day here, and she was pretty much ready to move on the next day, deciding that yet again, this place wasn't the right spot for her. Even in the height of winter, it was hot here. And dry. Meaning that she constantly had to drink lots of water, which was expensive. Honestly, how the heck did any digimon want to live here? Well, she supposed that it might hold some value for reptilian digimon, but even they had to drink, right?
She had given it a good go though. On the first day, she had worked for the day in the Trailmon yards, helping to sort out the cargo that somehow made this town viable. It was no problem for her, she could evolve into fairly strong higher forms, but, manual labour didn't really feel like her thing, so she left that behind.
The second day, she took a trial day's work in the mines. That was more interesting, but, when she found out just how dangerous it was, she backed out of that business completely. In fact she intended to report it to her father as soon as possible. While Gaz thought her dad Bellamy was pretty much a silly manchild for the most part, she did hold a lot of trust in him with matters like this, so she hoped he'd intervene here before good digimon got killed.
And here, on the third day, Gaz just hung out in the main saloon, hoping to get to know the locals a bit better. She tried talking to them, using the best of her charms, lowering her sunglasses to reveal her dazzling emerald-green eyes, but alas, all she was was an outsider here. And thus nobody paid that much attention to her, which was annoying, but, meh, she can't change a town.
All that seemed to change that evening when the doors to the saloon opened, much as they did in old time western films, and in walked a digimon Gaz had never seen before. A Ganimon, pretty much a flat gold coin digimon with a top hat and moustache.
"What the heck do you want here, Dirty Gani?!" the saloon bartender asked.
"Well now, that ain't a nice way to greet your new boss is it now?" the Ganimon responded. "That's right, I've just brought the rights to all the mines in this backwater frontier town, so now y'all work for me!"
Gaz could hardly care less at this point as she sipped on her fruit juice.
"So then, I think the first thing I'll do is increase your working hours without increasing your pay!" he continued. "Because you have no power to stop me!"
At that point, a line was crossed. Gaz might be the type of digimon to mind her own business, but both of her parents had raised her to be a good digimon that would react to outrages like this, and thus she did. She finished her juice and stood up.
"I'd like to take you up on that." she said, making those in the saloon gasp. Even the piano player seemed unsure of what to play here, which was the usual indication in this genre that shit was gonna get real.
"Oh? What will you try and do?" Ganimon asked, sneering at her.
"Simple. Heads, you get lost. Tails, you fuck off." Gaz replied, then glowed suddenly as she warp-digivolved to her Ultimate level - JaegerDorulumon. Before Ganimon could object, Gaz flicked him so hard that he flew out of the saloon, the doors swinging in his wake, then there was a distant crash. Afterward, in the ringing silence, Gaz turned to the bartender. "Could you please phone the post office? I think I owe them an explanation."
When that was done, Gaz asked them if Ganimon had landed Heads or Tails, because it was important to her. She de-digivolved back to her Gazimon form as the danger had passed. Satisfied that all was well, and that Ganimon had landed on "heads", she decided she kinda liked this town after all. A little excitement could make all the difference.
