Silence rolled her shoulders, there was fire in her eyes and ice on her blade [so to speak]. She’d crack a knuckle against her armor testing it’s ‘might’ for a moment. Seeing him take that stance the shutmon mulled over their previous bouts. Took her own weakness to heart and spread her legs into a wide open stance not unlike the ones she used to take. But that was definately not the point in this exercise. She was looking to create openings. Looking to close them up; looking to use the wolf if he was going to be willing to fight her so much.
”I won’t be satisfied with the little that we’ve done.”
She would improve. She would make sure of it. Even if she had to bleed and crawl her way to it. Her blade remained sheathed for a moment and her hand came down to rest on the pomell. She’d eye his stance and well… She had been wanting to go further ever since meeting the wolf. Ever since fighting against that meramon. She had felt the grasp of the higher forms…
Iko would find even if her armor broke, even if her blade shattered and rent apart. She’d drag herself up to her feet. One way or another, whether a wall, his own body or even out of pure godly spite. When it came to tenacity even K would be found wanting in this regard compared to her. She had bled and fought against the D-reaper. She had looked into that terrible voice, cursing and pulling the whole way. Even with her digicore and soul at risk she still fought. She took from the D-reaper. She made use of it.
Her wide stance shifted in an instance when she drew that sword and with a sweeping blow Iko would note something definitively off about her. It wasn’t a feint, it wasn’t some falsehood, she was going for the sweeping motion like before but rather than end off knowing that she was going to miss she’d use that momentum to bring her leg up and around to kick the wolf in the side. Looking to launch him away from her and create her own space.
He would find that even though she was exhausted at this point her blows had some serious weight to them.

Silence was dedicated.
That much was clear: even when she was on the back foot, she didn't give up, picking herself up to try and charge that wolf once more. To many, this might have just been an overbearing, unending onslaught - and even Iko was starting to feel it. The sword swing was ducked, but the Shutmon decided to carry through with a roundhouse kick, one that would have likely launched him off to the side. In fact, it would slam right into his armored ribs, a pained grunt given as he felt his feet skid against the ground.
... But the wolf would find that it wouldn't be so easy to pull that leg back. Rather, Iko had managed to pin it under his arm, and by forcefully shunting it upwards, he would try and force the wolf to land flat on her back. To this, however, the wolf would grin: "You aren't lacking that, at least." He chuckled: "You are looking to win, not just to survive, or to fight. Your focus is in the right place... heh..."
He readied his stance again: "Round out your edges more, and you might make a good Knight yourself."

How could she not be? She wanted to win. She wanted to actually make some kind of headway against Iko. She wanted to at least see her number of times she won raise by a single digit for once. Sure her sword swing was ducked easily; that wasn’t a surprise. He would be expecting it. She felt him skid, not launch off of the ground. She might have underestimated his weight or his grit…
Finding that her leg was grabbed and with it being shunted backwards rather than fall flat on her back he’d instead send her hopping a few feet away. Wobbling her arms for balance before finally landing on her rear with a ‘oof’.
”I don’t think my spirit was ever in question…”
Silence rubbed at her neck and blinked slightly as the other told her what she was looking for. Or what she should be looking for. She was looking to win, not to survive or fight. It was a strange sensation… she had to admit he was right. Biting her lip the shutmon considered something for a moment. Like she was going to say something…
But then he said something that made her stiffen and she’d scowl. Round out her edges? Make her a good knight? The shutmon shook her head and followed suit with a stance of her own. Shifting the difference. She knew various techniques but… Compared to this knight in front of her they weren’t very well practiced.
”What makes you think I want to be a knight? Ever think I just wanted to be a mercenary or maybe an artist?”
The shutmon took a swing, it wasn’t wide. It wasn’t over the top. It was a testing prod at his defenses. Nothing sharp about it. Save for the gaze that sat behind the blade...

"Just stating facts. I'm not going to force - or tell - you to do anything."
He'd chuckle, enjoying the Shutmon's snark. She was able to easily get back up onto her feet - what Iko did amounted to little more than a shove, after all - and Silence once more got into the rhythm of it. This time, she sent little more than a tap in his direction, a definite surprise as it grazed against the side of his armor. It was light and unpracticed, but in the wolf's eyes, at least a sign that the Shutmon was willing to acknowledge her weaknesses.
Alright, then: for the first time, Iko didn't counter, instead going for a move of his own. Using his forward arm, he'd launch it forward as a jab, claw open and aiming right for her face. At this range, it looked difficult to judge if it was a full-force thrust or just a light throw - but if Silence were to try and duck this obvious attack at her eyes?
Well, the nature of the feint would be revealed - and the knee from below would hit the center of her face at considerable force, rather than drive lightly into her abdomen.

”Well you’re bein awfully suggestive there Iko.”
Silence snorted and stuck out her tongue at the wolf. If she didn’t know better the knight wanted her to be a part of the group. She’d be lying if she hadn’t been thinking about it or at least… thinking about doing something with it. Maybe not joining it? Being an ally of sort? She didn’t really know what she wanted to do still.
Silence felt a little iota of accomplishment feeling that graze against the armor of the wolf. She didn’t really know what he was going for with that eye jab; but duck she did… Right into that knee that smashed right into her face. She staggered back and cursed as she felt her nose crack; the shutmon seeing stars and seeming dazed for a moment.
Maybe she should of hopped back instead of ducking, as her intent was to swipe upwards against iko’s armor. But in this case she’d bring a hand to her face where it was very apparent she was bleeding fairly profusely from her nose. The scent of blood was overwhelming and just…
”Fuggin! What the hell Iko!”
She didn’t mind being tossed around or getting scratches but her nose was damn well sensitive as it was and this wasn’t going to go over well if she couldn’t recover from it. She usually avoided getting her face struck as damaging her nose had long term consequences!

"... Oh fucking hell."
Iko noted it, and regretted it about the instant that it happened. It felt like a clean slam against his own knee, which meant that he'd hit full force against Silence's face - connecting right with that sensitive muzzle. He backed off almost immediately, skidding a few feet as Silence collected her senses.
"I didn't mean for it to connect that well, I thought I would just catch your forehead or something!" Still, that was starting to sound like an excuse. He gave a sigh, and a small step back: "More to the point: even Digimon that fight well can be manipulated with techniques like this. Regardless of species, most fighters value protecting their neck, their head, and especially their eyes. Its important to defend, yes - but it tends to result in exaggerated dodges."
... And the results were more than clear. Silence's nose was dripping, her nose and muzzle potentially more damaged than that. In that state, it definitely wasn't a good idea to keep going - as shown by the ribbons of data fading around the wolf's frame, leaving a normal Ankomon standing across from the Shutmon.
"If we get it patched up right away, it'll be fine. I don't want to end up accidentally smashing into it again. Tch... now you're getting me too far into this..."
With that? Well, he'd raise a hand to his ear: "Garlond, we got an, um, patch job for you."

”Ah fuck, what the fuck did you think would happen? That my nose would make a squeaker noise or something?”
Silence grumbled and blew out some of the blood from her nose, growling in sharp pain as the other well… He was trying to say what he had meant to do which silence just waved off. It was fine, just that she seriously wasn’t expecting him to knee her fucking face. A mental note not to duck when trying to avoid his nonsense.
”Next time I’m just going to hop backwards or side step… Duckin is fuckin stupid…”
The shutmon let out a small hiss at feeling out her nose; yeah he definately broke something with that little manuver. If it had been her forehead like he intended the shutmon likely would of been knocked out.
”You haven’t been doin enough yourself and got all this pent up energy from just doin normal patrols don’tcha?”
The shutmon guessed that iko was likely very bored and without luke to reign him in a bit.. Maybe he was running a bit wild. Hearing him call someone the shutmon shook her head, she could easily just…
Well she could just take a portal to mikemon but she didn’t even get the chance. Iko wouldn’t even wait a few moments before the butler just… appeared out of thin air as though he was expecting this to happen. A medical kit clasped in one hand and a steaming hot towel.
”I expected as much and had these ready. You two ought to have better control of yourself than this. Tut tut…”
Silence blinked a bit as the butler approached her, it wouldn’t take much for her to let the other take a look at her. A pair of hands coming up with a bit of healing light to them, more meant to sooth than anything it was the medical kit and towel that was going to do most of the heavy lifting. Silence herself would have to be quiet while the butler worked.
”Dinner is on and I’d suggest that the two of you retire to it after I’m done treating Ms. Silence here. Did you find what you were looking for Iko or is she still not ready?”
Garlonds soft blue eyes shifted to look at the wolf, it was an honest question and hearing it answered well… would give him some closure and hint at what the wolf was probably up to. If he was up to anything at all!

"... Tch. I wish I could take fucking patrols."
Silence accidentally hit the nail right on the head, the wolf giving a growl as the Shutmon started to sort out her wound. "As the 'oldest' Knight here, it falls to me to handle all of the paperwork - and both Garlond and Joseph keep a large amount of that coming. They try to slip so many things past us, like they think that without K that we'll just become Luminas soldiers or something."
He gave a 'tch', leaving it at that as the other Renamon would come in, and start to address Silence's wounds. Thankfully, it didn't seem too bad, the skilled butler starting to get that medical work sorted out. His ear flicked as Garlond mentioned something about dinner. "We have enough for her? I thought we were just planning on me, you, and Joseph here today... and... hm."
The butler put it right out there, didn't he? The wolf shook his head. "You know my standards are high, Garlond. She's a '10' for power but I wouldn't put her too highly otherwise. If she's going to be anywhere near Knight level... hm..."
He tilted his head, looking over to the wolf. "Maybe we could get there in two weeks. Assuming she'd even have a nose by the end of it, though..."

”Oh… Yeah that’d… erm… That’d do it then I guess.”
Silence didn’t realize how close she had come to the problem; in fact she didn’t mean to make that sound so bloody mean either! She’d flick her ears as the wolf told her about the happenings. How luminas was trying to make them serve them or something like that but… Why would they do something to make this group ‘serve’ them? The shutmon didn’t understand the politics behind it.
”...Why is luminas so desperate for you to become that?”
She didn’t want the topic to drop but at the same time she felt he dropped it for a reason. She’d remain quiet while Garlond went about his business; flicking her ears between the two of them. It was somewhat distracting but it was something that she just had a habit of doing.
”Oh absolutely. I expected her after hearing that she was signed up for that mission in the dark area the same day that you all had patrol there. I figured that Syre would bring her here to sort of show her around. But with the young madam going out on her own patrol so quickly I realized that you two would fight. You have been quite… well. Pent up is how they say it yes?”
Garlond chuckled lightly and it would take a small tap on silence’s shoulder to address the fact he was done. Though with the way he had to tie things silence would have a hard time talking consistantly.
”Should only take a few hours before you can remove it. It’s mostly for the blood. Your nose is just bruised and something split open on the inside. If it had broken you wouldn’t be talking. I know your standards are high Iko; but K never cared about power. It was so much more than that.”
Though hearing that she could get there in two weeks Silence tilted her head and garlond’s eyes flashed before he stepped between the two of them, gesturing with one hand to the side.
”Is this what the young madam wants? To be a part of the knights? Have you even asked her if that’s what she wants? Or just assumed? K asked us to treat her like a whole new person but the way I see it you still haven’t let go of your friend.”
Silence blinked a few times and in the first time of her life well... she felt a little nervous and worried about what the other wolf would say!

Why was Luminas so desperate for the Knights to become that? Iko gave a sigh: "The idea that there's a righteous group out there, with powerful warriors doing the right thing, that don't want to be part of Luminas? Yeah, that's outright scary for the 'old' Luminas codgers who managed to keep their seats."
He gave a scoff at that... but thankfully, Garlond would show up and change the topic. And yes, the yellow Renamon had hit it right on the head, so much that Iko didn't even dignify it with a response. He was pent up, and unfortunately Silence's nose dealt with the brunt of it. Thankfully, it didn't take long for the fox to brace Silence's muzzle, Iko giving a nod to the Shutmon.
... As for if joining the Knights was something the 'madam' wanted?
"Honestly, that doesn't matter to me. But..." He looked to Silence out of the corner of his eye, "If she wants to go out and fight the D-Reaper on a whim, of all things? I'm not going to be satisfied letting her do what she wants until she's able to fight at least at our base level."

Yeah no that made sense to her. She wouldn’t want a group of people that had no loyalty to any real location to be doing whatever they wanted either. She’d rub at her chin thoughtfully and huff at the htought about the other cities… She was curious now. Really curious. Like meicrackmon levels of curiosity. So she’d deign to speak; even if it was a little painful to do so.
”What about the other cities? Terminus, whitewater, rustport… Uh… I presume rosewood likes having you at their doorstep else this would be really awkward.”
Silence turned her head to look between the two of them; Garlond had been quite forward with it and seeing that there was no real response from the wolf the butler sighed. He wasn’t going to get through his thick skull was he?
”It wasn’t just on a whim. I saw that it was dangerous and I thought that I could handle it.”
Silence folded her arms and scowled before letting out a small tsk at the pain she felt lance through her skull. But garlond hearing that only made him blink a few times. At their base level? What did he mean by that? In fact garlond wasn’t even sure what their base level even was! Then again he was pretty much a noncombatant when it came down to it. Though he definitely could fight…
”So bear with me here then Iko. What exactly would be our ‘base’ level? Or rather the knights base level.”
”...I’m… interested in knowing that too.”
Silence shook her head, she felt somewhat out of sorts but hearing that he wouldn’t let her do what she wanted felt odd. Like a weird twisty sort of odd she couldn’t explain. It was a rough sensation that just didn’t leave her chest. Garlond looked to her and raised a brow; unsure of what to make of her. He’d sigh after a few moments and packed up the medical case.
”You two should talk about this over dinner. Joseph won’t be back until later; he’s… out for the moment.”
Garlond hoisted the case up, gave the both of them a small nod and padded off. Though unlike the others his steps were likely far quieter... like he was trained for far more than butler work!

'I saw it was dangerous and I thought I could handle it'.
"That's what it means to act on a whim, Silence."
Iko's tone was rather flat at that, the wolf sighing as he shifted his weight to his left foot. Naturally, the abrasive Ankomon wasn't able to just say what he wanted, and soon the other Renamon asked what, exactly, their 'base level' was. Was it something in terms of power, or skill?
Nothing of the sort, actually. Iko answered reflexively enough. "It means knowing what your forms are capable of, and being able to efficiently use them. Its about not panicking when an unknown situation arises, and being able to act calmly enough in each situation."
He looked over to Silence, after that. "As you are right now, you waste too much motion in your movements - and, sometimes, you outright panic when I put you into a corner. 'Flipping the coin', as it is, isn't going to do much against me."
But, maybe that was too much. His ear flicked when he heard that dinner was about to be on, and Iko gave a nod - and directed his next comment to Silence. "We'll discuss our next two weeks over dinner. Sorry if I'm coming across as a hardass - but I really don't want to see you die to something stupid. I owe that cat too fucking much to allow that to happen. Well... him and K."

The shutmon flicked an ear and shook her head; she felt that meant something different but if that was truly the case she’d admit she was in the wrong and move on from that. She felt that she wasn’t getting the whole picture and she really wished that she could. But it just felt like he was holding something back or maybe… well. Maybe the presence of the butler muted his response somewhat?
”...I still don’t really know what my forms are capable of outside of the renamon, leomon and shutmon forms. To be honest even the meicrackmon one doesn’t feel like it belongs to me.”
The shutmon admitted rather bitterly; she was taking this surprisingly well and rubbed at her chin as he explained her style. That she panicked and that she wasted energy or motions. Flipping the coin wasn’t really her thing and she thought she had improved but it felt like she had a long way to go.
”...I have a lot to work on then.”
Silence’s arms had remained folded and she’d watch garlond leave. Why did a knighthood have a butler of all things? And who was this joseph? Hearing iko speak up again the shutmon turned her head.
”No I get it. You lost a friend and here her next iteration is being a dumbass and thinking herself hot shit when really she’s just some kid with a sword.”
Silence sighed a bit and stooped to pick up her sword from where it had fallen. During their ‘training’ she had dropped it. She’d stare at it for a few moments. She knew that K never had one like this and well.. She felt like that meant something. Like her body was trying to tell her something.
”I don’t think I can ever match up to her Iko. I don’t even know who I can really compare myself to. Every day I feel like I’m moving backwards rather than forwards. It’s something I can’t shake ever since leaving rosewood. Like I’m doing something wrong and I just can’t explain it.”

"Knowing your main line would be good enough. I don't have nearly as many forms as you do."
Iko kept it at that, but it was true. She had a lot of work to do, and over the next two weeks they were going to do nothing but that work. Silence caught the issue at hand fairly well with her next comment, the wolf waving a hand as if to move the conversation forward. "It's not an excuse. Honestly, if not for our 'love' of throwing fists at each-other's faces, I don't think the two of us would have ever really gotten along."
He left it at that... or, well, she would have, if Silence's next comment didn't make Iko's back arch up in hackles. "... Tch." He turned around, looking over his shoulder right at the Shutmon, a deep glare in his eyes.
"You are not bound by her." For the first time, there was actually a little bit of anger touched in Iko's voice! "If you want to feel sorry about yourself, fine, then feel sorry about yourself. But K is not this 'unreachable point' that you can never get past, Silence."
He huffed, turned, and started to walk away.
"The moment you put a ceiling above yourself, no matter how high you think it is? You're already lying to yourself."

”Hmm. Renamon, leomon, Shutmon, cresgarurumon and Omegashutmon. I get the feeling I’m missing one though.”
The shutmon rubbed at her neck as her muzzle was still bandaged up and she didn’t want to mess with it too much. His explanation of the fact that they only really got along because the both of them threw punches at one another didn’t really fill the shutmon with confidence of her would be trainer.
Silence however physically flinched at seeing those hackles raised, she must of really touched a nerve there and looked a bit sour about it. She didn’t so much feel sorry about herself and she wasn’t that put that ceiling above her in the first place. She felt that raw biting anger leap up and she’d start but…
She’d ultimately sigh and shake her head. There was no point in getting angry about it. K felt like an unreachable point if only because other people kept on comparing the two of them together and finding that the current shutmon measured up short.
”It’s not a ceiling I put above myself. But more one that others seem to. I never said I didn’t want to improve and my drive is still to become better. And lying to myself about what exactly?”
Silence seemed earnestly curiously and padded after him. It wouldn’t even be that long before they were in the mess hall. But she had one last question that she felt that needed to be asked. Sure it seemed out of place but… She wanted to know!
”...Why did you join the knights Iko?”
