The front door to the ICY Fate's fortress always had a habit of jamming. In the summer it jammed because the wood expanded due to the heat. And in the winter it jammed because of the ice and frost sealing it shut.
"Ms. Vivian should call someone about that," Kitt remarked after the door finally gave away, allowing himself entrance to his home. For a second there he thought he was gonna have to digivolve into White Leomon in order to pry the door open. Thankfully that didn't come to that; he still couldn't fully control his strength at that level Had it did, he would have to explain to Logane why the huge door was suddenly knocked off of his hinges.
Once the door clicked closed behind him, he yawned, feeling tired. Thankfully, he had got home just in time before curfew, as he could hear rain started to pelt the roof. The Spadamon had a fairly busy day today, more than usual. He took up a one day job at Rosewood where he worked at a soup kitchen, providing meals to many poor and homeless Digimon that had been through a lot of unfortunate financial difficulty. He knew what it was like, the feeling of being out in the cold, not knowing where his next meal would come from. So once he saw the one-day position while scrolling through his D-Terminal, he couldn't turn that down. It was the least he could do.
Kitt navigated through the central hall, past Logane's forge and down the hallway into another room, His bedroom, judging by the twin-sized bed that dominated the space. Like the central halls, the walls were white here, and the bed sheets were a similar pale ivory color, offset by the dark wooden frame of her bedstead. Above the bed was a canopy of light material, lined with small, dimmed lights that turned on when Kitt hit the light switch. A wardrobe and chest of drawers were in one corner, and the other was home a shelf with assorted plushies together.
Turning off the lights except for his nightlight, he took off his grey cloak, shin and head armor, then leaped to his bed like a cat stalking its prey, landing face first on his comfy pillow.
"Ahh, hello bed. I've missed you so much,~" he mused, curling up in the middle, the covers covering half of his body. With the gentle sound of rain echoing across his room, it was perfect for him to pass out sound asleep in a jiffy. He closed his eyes, ready to succumb to the warm temptations of sleep. For the next two and a half hours however, Kitt found himself tossing and turning in his bed. There were some moments where he felt too hot and removed the comforter off of him, while other times he felt too cold and quickly buried himself right back in it. He couldn't find the perfect equilibrium.
Thinking it was his position on the bed, he took his pillow and went to the opposite end of the bed. At first he felt like he could sleep soundly then, only to be met with the same results as before. Grunting in frustration, he tossed his pillow to the other side of the bed and sat up.
"Why can't I sleep?" He said to himself remove the covers off from his body. He reached for his D-Terminal that was on his bed counter and began searching through Tamernet. There's got to be fourm out there that could help him with his troubles sleeping.
Eventually he came across a article that showed twenty simple ways to fall asleep as fast as possible. Some of them included lowering the room temperature, practice yoga, meditation and mindfulness, not looking at the clock, doing push-ups, and drink a warm glass of milk. The last one inquiring Kitt's curiosity.
"Huh," Kitt was surprised, but then shook his head in disapproval. "No way something that simple could knock me out."
Following the other steps, he begun with doing 2-10 sets of push-ups as per instructed. He wasn't the best at push-ups, since in his training sessions with Dio and Gio, he could only make it to 5 before he collapse onto the ground, but nevertheless he tried his hardest. Despite that quick work-out, nothing changed in the slightest. He then sat in the middle of his room mediate. That was something he was good at, and at first it was yielding good results. That was of course until he started imagining things about sleeping, like his bed and the feeling of laying on a comfy cloud. That only further made him yearn for sleep and causing his focus to sleep, eventually giving up. He went to through every step to try and make himself fall asleep, all yielding the same results til it only came down to one: the glass of warm milk.
With a frustrated groan, Kitt came out of his room and walk to the kitchen, desperate to fall asleep In there, he climbed up the kitchen counter to reach for a glass that was in one of the cabinets. He then went into the fridge, pouring the milk into the glass, and setting it into the microwave. The instructions said to heat it up for 45 seconds, so that's what he did. Before the alarm beeped, Kitt stopped the microwave at the last second. He could hear the others snoring loudly, so he didn't want to wake them up.
He stared at glass inquisitively, watching the steam emit from the hot milk. He blew on it for a couple of seconds before deciding to drink it all down in three gulps. After a minute or two, he noted that he didn't feel any less sleepy than he was before. Now angry, Kitt ruffled his hair in fustration, his tail puffing up.
"I tired everything and nothing's work!" Kitt bashed, though making sure he wasn't too loud to wake anybody up. "I knew this warm milk thing was nothing but a shame. I'm just...I'm just...Im..."
Slowly, he started to curl up on the kitchen floor, his mind becoming more tired than the rest of his body. "I'm...so sleepy...," Kitt yawned, his eyes dropping. "Sooo sleepy..."
His eyes finally shut, and he started to snore soundly, finally succumbing to the invitation of sleep.
