There were definitely a few interesting ideas going around here - some of which the group agreed on, and some of which led to a slight divide. Doku found himself nodding, first to the MeiCrackmon and then towards Toki. "Hard-headed as he might be, the Seraphimon is on our side to get all of this sorted out. It was probably a secret during the fight itself, but now the temporary command area should be more-or-less abandoned. Same with the rescue area - Wisemon would have been hoping that they would have triggered far closer to the fight. I guess, at least."
"Hm..." Holly's suggestion perked the attention of the more combative head. "Is there a purpose of understanding the spell? I'm not sure knowing what it does would assist us in locating the pages - nor do I think any here are skilled enough in magic to utilize whatever counter an assistant would recommend."
"Still... foul as the magic might be, I must admit that its craft is expert. I wonder if there would be some purpose in preserving them?"
"Why not meet it halfway, then?" Doku spoke up, drawing the attention of the Turtle. "Trying to undo or counter the spell might be problematic - but if we're going to be going by Rosewood anyway, why not invest in a lead case? We can deliver a sample to Whitewater as a point of study. We'll destroy what we find, and whatever we miss, we'll have a way to answer it some weeks down the line."
"... I wouldn't object to something like that..." The head nodded in agreement, there. To that, there was one more point of discussion:
How to handle Rosewood.
"Hm... but has the spell been activated in Rosewood, before this?" Doku mentioned that as a means to counter that point - but realized something mid-sentence. "Actually, if someone in Rosewood is marked, making such a drastic change might alert them to our intent. Though once we start poking the nest, that'll increase the chance a spell will end up catching someone... hm."
Doku mulled it over. If clearing out Rosewood might alert a negative party, they might not want to evacuate - but on the contrary, if they left Rosewood the way it was, someone might get caught up in it. Was it a matter of picking a better answer, or was there a third way to go about this?

”Ultimately understanding the spell allows us to work against it, come up with ways to counter it and understand the sort of locations it could be best employed on and what surfaces that it would be able to stick to. There are likely dozens of different possible applications for this spell to be used for good if employed by a magic caster of a different view. I’m thinking in both long and short term. There must be someone elsewhere we could contact for the same reasons. In terms of preservation I have a theory that if we put them in an infini storage that they will both be preserved and will be unable to affect the world around them.”
Holly exhaled slowly and then nodded a bit as Doku made that suggestion; she seemed happy with saying her piece and was glad that there were so many different opinions in one place. Her attention flicked from kitt to skadi to kenny and ultimately her eyes came to toki who she tilted her head at.
Then the way that they had to handle rosewood. Holly rubbed her chin and then got a somewhat concerned look. Was there better answers to this? Should they even go into rosewood? She’d tut a few times before taking a seat, her tail flicking a few times as she grew very very thoughtful.
”...If we went to even check that we might be putting them in danger, but there’s locations that are in rosewood that have higher traffic than others. If we check those first and work with the guards it’s possible that we could avoid people getting caught up in this entirely. The guards knowing about this problem would also help for the future given the fact that if they stumble across something like this again or something that we missed they’ll know how to handle it too.”
She’d rub at her face and grumble a little bit. The guards she knew would probably be down for something like that. Though honestly did they even have someone that could help them with the spells? Or was this just too much of a collective effort?
”Then again maybe we’re overthinking this…”

This was the first major hurdle in the plan. How exactly were they going to handle Rosewood? If anyone there was still marked somehow, then the entire plan could go up in smoke. However, they couldn't just ignore Rosewood. To Toki, that wasn't an option. He shook his head when the possibility of working with the guards came up "What if one of the guards is marked? The chances of it are slim, but that's still worth considering." He said as he crossed his arms and floated in place "Hmm..."
Then, he had an idea. "We can evacuate them...without it seeming like an emergency. We could arrange for someone to throw a party or impromptu festival on the outskirts of town. That way, it just seems like something fun that will attract the townsfolk. If that works, we would have plenty of time to search for the spell and dispose of it without our intentions being known and the people won't panic. As for how to start such a thing, I am at a loss. If any of you have an idea on how we can do this, I'm all ears."
Hopefully it didn't seem strange that he'd suggest an idea that he didn't fully know how to follow up on. It was the first thing that came to mind. It would avoid panic and it was a solution that people would be happy with. Even those who were marked might not have much a reason to question it.
What made Toki even more optimistic for the mission ahead, however, was the fact everyone seemed perfectly willing to compromise and come up with ways to incorporate the various ideas they all suggested. This team worked well together as far as planning went, so that was a relief to him.

The idea of taking a sample, and finding ways to make it beneficial to the others, or even to understand what it could do in the first place to counter it and get a step ahead of Wisemon did sound like a good idea in theory. However, with the full potential of the marks unknown, it sounded a lot like a risky endeavour. It was best if Kenny and Skadi left it to more powerful, professional handlers like Toki.
Still, that was a good point raised; how were they going to handle Rosewood anyways? For a brief moment, Kenny started to scratch his chin, his mind racing to comprehend what to do; they couldn't just waltz in and cause unintentional panic. They were only 5 people, and only God knows how many residents.they had to keep calm. It was only then that Toki spoke up with his own suggestion, and quickly Kenny and Skadi took notice, looking up to the mighty moon rabbit as he explained.
And that was when something struck Skadi, as one of her ears started to twitch, her face lighted up and she enthusiastically raised a hand into the air, "Wait, guys! I have an idea!" She cried out. Kenny was the first one to turn around to his partner, "How about we host an exhibition match for Rosewood to tide them over?"
"A what?" Kenny asked, a little confused.
"An exhibition match!" Skadi was quick to correct him, "While the others are busy sniffing out the marks and either collecting samples or destroying them, we could host a friendly match to entertain the rest of Rosewood and buy as much time as we possibly can for the others. After all, plenty of us Digimon treat battles like a sport, so why not give them an exciting show to tide them over in the meanwhile?"
For a brief moment, Kenny mulled over the idea, and a knowing smile emerged on his face as he did, "Yeah, actually, that's not a bad idea. Good thinking there, Skadi." He grinned as he ruffled the Valaismon's hair, the sheep Digimon happily bunting her head back on his palm with an affectionate nuzzle as he did so.
There was one more thing they had to address, however. As soon as Kenny pulled away his palm from Skadi's head, she turned over to Kitt with a knowing grin, "Does that sound good to you, Kitt?" Skadi did love a good battle from time to time, and a friendly match to bait the rest of the residents away would feel a lot like a win-win to her.
After all, there was nothing to lose from an exhibition match.

"To defeat your enemy, you have to understand them in order to achieve victory. If you know yourself, but do not know the enemy, you will suffer defeat."
Those were the words that was imparted to Kitt from Logane during his first training session. It was something that rung in his head before conflict. While he understood Holly's plan to study and use the marks against their foe--since it is a genius plan, but it was still too risky. In addition, he doubt that everyone here had dipped their toes into the black arts, so it would take too long to understand all the nicks and knacks that Wisemon had put into place. It was best to learn about the marks another time, and stop Wisemon from enacting his diabolical plan on causing chaos.
Toki suggested evacuating the townsfolk by planning and organizing an event that will lead people away from danger, leaving them with plenty of time to find the spell and destroy it without causing a scene. Kitt nodded in agreement; that wasn't a bad idea. But in doing that, that would mean the four of them will have to split into two groups in order for this to work.
Skadi then further added that the event should be an exhibition match, and turned to Kitt asking if it was a sound plan. Uh oh. Seeing her smile reminded her of Ophelia whenever she wanted to spar. Hearing this, he looked at her in shock, sweating.
"M-Me, against you?!" Kitt yelped, in a somewhat panicky manner. "I-I don't know. I don't necessarily enjoy fighting like other Digimon. Besides, what if one of us takes it too far and hurts one another? Then we won't be any use to the rest of the team and--"
He paused for a second in thought. His reluctance wasn't doing any good. In order for the mission to be a success, he has to give it his all, even if it meant putting on a show so that the others succeed in theirs. Swallowing his doubts, he bowed to the Valaismon
"A-Alright, but promise not to get too carried away, Madam Skadi."

"... An Infini Storage?"
For once, the Turtle was at a loss, tilting its head curiously at the MeiCrackmon's proposal. Such a technology was far past their time - but Doku quickly covered tracks on that. "An Infini-Store should work fine to at least temporarily hold the pages - though I'd caution that it probably wouldn't deactivate the spell. It would just put it out of reach of those that it could affect."
Still, one point for Holly there. As for the guards and Rosewood itself, well, it was a matter of figuring out the right way to word it. 'Lying' actually didn't seem like a bad way to go about it, as Toki put it, but what impromptu event would sate Rosewood from wanting to travel outward?
... An exhibition match. Between the ram and the Spadamon. At the thought of it, the Sovereign fell silent for a moment - before the gentler head roared out in rambunctious laughter!
"Oho, such spirit! The Tiger's lady would have loved your grit!"
"Admittedly, its not something that came to me right away... but you two," the plant looked to Skadi and Kitt, "This can't be an act, per se. Obviously, the fight wouldn't have any real stakes, but both of you have to be trying to win."
That aside, presuming that Toki and Holly wouldn't have any objections?
"As for the reason to stay in the village, we can say its something like 'general traffic restrictions'. We'll say that 'Rancid Mushrooms' or something cropped up overnight and it'll take a few hours to clear 'em out. You know, something benign but important enough that they wouldn't want to chance questioning it."
What the group had was a good-enough idea - and with the task given by the Sovereign, Doku would give a nod. "Well, if our group doesn't have anything else... then we should be back off." With a bow, the Aruraumon would turn, and begin to lead the group back through those thorny woods... ... And, eventually, back out to the main path. Seeing the return of the plant, as well as the rest of the group, the Seraphimon would return a nod. "Well, this seems promising - from your stance I take it you have some good news?"
"Somewhat. Sovereign's sent us on an errand to clear out something in the woods. You two," Doku nodded to Kenny, Skadi, and Kitt, referring to those two groups - or maybe he just forgot to count Kenny? "You're with Seraphimon, off to Rosewood. Skadi, you're the brains of that part, so fill in our angelic friend of your idea."
And he'd turn, towards Toki and Holly. "And you two are with me. I want to at least test ZenCherubimon's apparent ability to detect the pages without being immediately around Rosewood - so we'll start at the Trailmon Station. Its the rainy season, so the tracks are too sunken and muddy to be of use anyway - we might only run into the day watchman or something. That way, if it doesn't work for some reason, we can all meet back up in Rosewood and come up with something else."
"... My, Doku, since when are you so motivated?"
"... I'd answer, but it'd probably degenerate to me yelling your head off for five minutes."
Provided there were no objections, the two groups would be off...

Holly perked up at the question and the meicrackmon quickly dug out her own infini storage. A small blue cube that she was able to open by simply pressing her thumb into the indent on one of those surfaces. It’d pop open and she’d reach in to pull out a water bottle; even going so far as to offer it to the sovereign with a smile.
”It’s a type of technology that allows you to carry a lot of stuff. Think of it as a backpack with a certain size limit of objects that can fit. The largest thing I’ve seen people put in it was a bike! That’s uh… a two wheel human contraption that’s powered by their own muscles; I might have one in here actually...”
Holly dug about in the infini storage, frowning and leaning to look into the opening. She’d raise her eyebrows and then huff to herself. She did not seem to have one but she might have a book on one! Or maybe even the infini storage itself…? The latter turned out to be true and she’d offer the book to the sovereign.
”If you’re interested there’s more about the infini-storage in here. Doesn’t hurt to know some of the tech of the time right?”
Holly rubbed at her chin as the conversation continued. If one of the guards were marked? She’d frown a bit and then perk up again; grinning ear to ear.
”Then we have a way for them to act without endangering the sovereign. If they sense that signal they should act accordingly right? So we’ll get a first hand experience of what they would have wanted to do to the sovereign or with the sovereign.”
Holly frowned a little bit however when… the exhibition match seemed to be the idea for it. She didn’t like the idea of having to fight one another in order to keep people’s attention but… Everyone seemed mostly for it. Holly rubbed at her chin and mumbled a bit.
”And if things go south you two will be ready to act if need be… Hmm hmm. And if you get hurt I can always just pop to mega and pour out some healing. It is what the form is for after all.. Just be ready if things go south yeah?”
Holly turned her head to look to doku; frowning a bit at the rancid mushrooms? She’d nod her head and shift slightly; a hand on her hip and one fiddling with her infini storage.
”We should be careful about lying too much… all it takes is one nosy guard or villager…”
Holly would brightly smile and wave at the sovereign before turning to follow the aruraumon…
”We’ll be back Mr. Sovereign sir!”
Once back onto the main path the meicrackmon would grin ear to ear, leaning up to look the seraphimon in the helmet; her eyes glinting with an amused light.
”We got to talk to him and he’s really cool; you should stop being such a grumpo and maybe he would have talked to you! You’re too stiff and grumpy; try to relax some. Yeah sure things are looking sour but I bet they didn’t like the feel of your mojo.”
She’d reach up to boop the seraphimon on where their nose would have been before chuckling to herself. If the seraphimon even allowed that to begin with. She’d stretch and rub at the back of her neck. So they’d go to this trailmon station and the other two would go off to the city primary?
”Sounds good to me Mr. Doku~ But I gotta wonder what the range of these page’s are in general… or how strong their connection to their hosts would be...”
Holly rubbed at her chin and thoughtfully rolled on the balls of her feet. She was happy to do something like this; where she could help people. The fact that she and toki were both doing this made her mull over something else entirely…
I wonder if this is how that would feel… to be in a group that was so well coordinated…
Her eyes sparkled a bit and she’d look to toki; giving him an almost wolfish grin. For once she didn’t need to rely on pure muscle to help solve this problem!
”Lets knock this out of the park yeah?”

The plan was all coming together. Toki seemed perfectly okay with the idea of an exhibition match. While it was a little worrying since the two of them could get hurt, these two seemed no stranger to friendly practice and sparring, though this battle would have to be all out. "Just take care and hold out for as long as you can, you two. I promise we'll have this cleaned up in quick order if all goes according to plan." Even the Sovereign seemed entertained with the plan, something that made Toki smile. It seemed everyone's efforts in communicating with the Sovereign went really well considering how friendly it was being to the group now. It was even learning more about modern Digital World technology.
Toki scratched his chin slightly at Doku's suggestion "Is it really necessary to add on more to this little ruse? We're already telling them about a local exhibition match. We'll just fine a suitable place within the city to hold it. I doubt many would find it odd. If they do...then maybe that could inspire the construction of an arena of sorts, for things like this to happen safely."
He wouldn't have much else to say as they returned to Seraphimon. He listened in on the plan, though something bothered him "Before we go to the Trailmon Station, I have a suggestion. Let's scout out where the exhibition match is going to take place and search there first. If there happens to be a spell in place there, then this whole plan will backfire with catastrophic results." He said, tone serious to emphasize the importance of the matter. "Once we determine there's nothing there, we can proceed with the rest of the plan and go to the station."
Whether or not the group would agree remained to be seen. Still, Toki was a firm believer in better safe than sorry. He's been in a lot of situations he could have avoided if he just properly prepared. A somber expression crossed his features for a moment, though he smiled at Holly's enthusiasm "I'm ready to go when the rest of you are. We can do this."

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Mar 26, 2020 8:02:00 GMT
Considering what she knew from Kitt so far in their first meeting, Skadi felt sure that the other Spadamon, and everybody else, for that matter, would be way more than on-board with her idea with an exhibition match to tide the rest of Rosewood over. But as Kitt voiced his concerns, Skadi's face started to falter in worry; unsure what to say. Her eyes quickly darted over to Holly, then to Kenny, scratching his head a little, then to Toki, and finally, to Ebonwumon, all to gauge their reactions.
...just as the Sovereign (the gentle head, anyways) happily voiced his approval to the rest of the group, and even Toki had agreed to the idea. Of course, Skadi knew that this was more or less just stalling anyways, and her top-notch bulk and stamina ensured that she could at least hold out as much as possible. With Toki discussing ideas on how to actually handle the match, Skadi gave a reassuring smile to the worrying Spadamon as he bowed, and just pat him on the back, "Don't worry, Kitt, you'll do great out there, I promise you."
As for Kenny? Listening to Doku's suggestion, he rubbed his chin a bit, as a thought came to his head, "Yeah, that doesn't sound too bad, to be honest. We don't wanna cause unnecessary panic or hysteria, but at the same time, we don't want any possibly nosy individual from sniffing around and finding loose threads. If anything, we need to keep up the act and avoid arousing superstition." He mused to the rest. Of course, Kenny would know.
He was quite the nosy kid himself growing up.
Of course, the moment that Doku started to lead the group through the thorny vines once more, the moment Kenny stored Skadi in the D-Nexus again before she could even set a hoof in. Somehow, it just felt more easier for him than last time, slowly taking his time to not rush ahead, and keep in pace with the rest of the group, not wanting to make the same mistake as last time.
Of course, the second he got out of the seemingly never ending thorn path, the second he'd bring Skadi out right back in the open, so the both of them could address Seraphimon once more. Once Holly had her fun, Kenny would look up to the armoured entity himself and explain, "Basically, Ebonwumon has a fair few issues he wants us to address before he goes back to sleep; mainly about these mysterious marks Wisemon scattered, which look to be capable of controlling unassuming victims, at least according to Toki. He wants us to clear out the marks and ensure that Wisemon's plan, whatever it is, is thwarted to ease his worries so he can rest."
With Skadi being addressed now by the Alraumon to explain her part of the plan to Seraphimon, "While Toki and Holly are busy seeking out the marks and destroying them, me and Kitt'll be hosting an exhibition match to tide Rosewood over during an 'infestation,'" Cue the air quotes, "Of rancid mushrooms around the area. We need to hang on as long as possible, but we also need to keep their attention, too."
She had a lot of faith in Kitt. If there was any benefits she could see for him, she could use this chance to help bolster his confidence whenever she could. She and Kenny turned up to Toki as he explained that they would have to sniff out whatever spell was possibly there, and both nodded in agreement. It was always good to be better safe than sorry; to have all their bases covered first before executing this plan.
With everything out of the way, a determined expression crossed Skadi's face, while Kenny took in the time to breath in and out to calm his nerves. Was it the antidepressants he had been described or the lessons Ryouta taught him, he couldn't tell, but hardened by experience, a sense of resolve started to build inside him, "Let's get this done as soon as possible. I say the sooner, the better."

Kitt accepted the Valaismon's reassurance with comfort, who said that he'll do great when it starts. This was supported by both Holly and Toki, the former stating that if they both get injured, she'll evolve into Mega and heal the both of them.
It wasn't that he didn't like a good spar every once and a while, heck, he liked sparring with his sister and his sensei, Dio. It was just doing it in front a group of people, in this, probably half of Rosewood from the talks, that got him concern. He wasn't exactly a 'mon that liked to perform in front of others, mainly because he has stage fright. In additon, when it came to sparring, sometimes, the Spadamon would get too into it and would start to treat sparring as if it was an actual fight; a fight-or-flight response still embedded in his head from his past. It was one of the reasons why he was a pacifist when it came to fighting. But the everyone concurred that this plan was perfect, and like or not, he had to accept the fact that he was about to fight Skadi with everything he's got as per request of Doku.
He just has to make sure he controls his emotions when he digivolve into White Leomon.
Kitt would bow at the Sovereign as everyone began to make their leave. "Thank you for having us, your grace." He added.
The group started their way back onto the main path. As a precaution to avoid the throny vines from before, Kitt opted to traverse from tree branch to tree branch, not wanting the same thing to happen to him like it did with Skadi. He still had a few thorns embedded in him, to which picked out. One thing's for sure once this is over, he'll need a warm bath when he gets home, and he hates baths.
Reuniting with Seraphimon, Kitt remained silent as the others explained the plan. He didn't have anything new or important to add as is. He only nodded when Doku said that he, Kenny, and Skadi were with the Seraphimon. Still, he has a sense of resolve in his expression, hopeful that everyone would do well, no matter what situation they'll be facing along the way.

"Now, now, kitten. I'm old, not senile - I know what a bike is."
"Oh, humor her. No-one knows how 'old' we are, anyway."
Ah, good old time dilation: what was ancient in the Digital World only stretched about as far back as the 1950s in human years. Sure, there was definitely things that the Sovereign couldn't comprehend - cell phones, D-Terminals, and the like - but it wasn't an entirely different world.
Ah, but that was neither here nor there. As Toki questioned the need to layer the ruse, Doku returned a nod. "I get what you're saying, but holding an exhibition match out in Rosewood is already somewhat unfamiliar. Its better to give a reason for the uncommon event rather than simply announce it out of the blue - and this way, we don't run as high a risk getting in trouble with Rosewood's internal structure, questioning why we're doing something like that without any advance notice."
... Doku coughed. Maybe his time wasn't best served trying to convince the most honest person here to lie? Regardless, Toki wouldn't put himself in a position to need to do so. ... Or so they would think. The Seraphimon would keep Holly away with one hand. "The word you're looking for is 'stoic'. To become too enthralled with everything that's going on would only put us all on edge, with everything going on." As Skadi explained the situation, the angel would give a nod, Doku briefly filling in the gaps to the angel.
With a nod to the group, the Seraphimon considered his stature, and decided to level down his form. To better work with the 'small' lie at hand, it seemed more appropriate to take the form of an Angemon, to not seem so 'militaristically authoritative' to the fledgling city of Rosewood. "Well, then, I hope you three can be as entertaining as you propose!" He'd give a grin, and lead on, leaving Doku, Holly, and Toki in the clearing. As it related to the 'order' of events - well, that was where Doku perked up again.
"That's a risk either way - though I suppose that's easy enough to explain away. Its a matter of just doing a sweep through the back of the village and seeing if we come across any pages. My only concern is that it might make all of our faces known to an already afflicted party - and I'm not sure what sort of event would happen if the Sovereign's aura hit an already active mark. It could, for example, trigger an automatic response to attack you."
It was a leveraged risk, either way. "If it makes you feel better, I'll rout it out and check the nearby trees. Its tiring, but I should be able to clear out the trees near there with a pass of my vines - and more than anyone, I can make an excuse that I was just checking around Rosewood for mushrooms before the fight."
Were they overthinking it? For the moment, the paths to the station and the village weren't that different - and if Toki pressed, it would probably be easy enough for all three to swing around and get behind Rosewood. But, of course, the most direct group would get there first! It didn't take long for the village guard to notice them - of course, the three were just 'walking up to the village' - and the Leomon watching the front path would give a nod to the four of 'em. "Hm? An angel, this far out?" Yes, seeing such a group did seem a little off, but the angel was quick to address the situation.
"Strictly business, I'm afraid - we have a Section 22 to report about hitting the streets for a bit. Invasive wildlife protocol, just need to check if things got this far."
"Hm..." the lion turned to face the tamer. "And these three are here to enforce it, or something?"
"No - honestly, I just think Terminus' got a little soft. I'll leave them to explain it."

Toki thought about it for a minute, thinking about what Doku was saying. He had a point, and with Doku aiding the team in combing out the pages, they could work faster than they could have all together. "I see your point, Doku. Forgive me, I just like to have all of the options clear before moving forward. I will head over to the Trailmon station and begin the search there. Everyone...just please stay safe on your respective goals, and we'll meet up again soon. If anything happens, I promise we'll get to you as soon as we can."
With that assurance, Toki would go with the group that was headed for the Trailmon station. He couldn't help but constantly worry about the others since he wasn't there to help, that worry evident on his face. However, he had to believe in them. Carrying the world on his shoulders wasn't going to do him any good. He had to do what he was capable of. "Okay...we should be arriving soon." He said. Sure enough, the station came into view. He looked around for a moment to see if anyone was around before preparing himself for what had to be done.
With a slow, deep breath, he brought his hands together and concentrated. A faint blue aura surrounded his hands and he did his best to hold the energy so they could patrol the area and find the pages, if there were any to be found. Unsure of what to really say while they were searching, he mostly focused on keeping the energy up. Thankfully without actually using the attack itself, it wasn't very hard to retain.
Though after a while he began to speak "I'm sorry if I'm overly cautious. What happened here is...not something I was expecting to revisit. I want this place to finally be safe...knowing that all of this was still around makes me feel like I failed Rosewood in a way. It seems like this should have been obvious. Though...I know it's not fair to put all of this blame on myself." Past events haunted him, but he was trying his best to come to terms with them.

”To be fair sir… erm. I don’t know how old you are. In fact no one really does. Do you know how old you are? Or like. Well. What’s the last major event you can remember out of the digital world? Or even the human one!”
Holly perked up to stare up at the sovereign. Hopefully they’d give her an answer; but if they didn’t that was fine. She’d turn her head and tilt it slightly… Lying wouldn’t solve too much. But she understood the need given the situation.
It seemed that everyone was ready and raring to go in one way or another and with how Doku addressed this well… She’d rub at her chin and nod her head. Thankfully it wouldn’t take too long to go to the seraphimon…
Though she’d huff a bit as he avoided her boop; honestly angels were so dull! They needed to relax and just sort of take it easy once in a while. She’d fold her arms and grumble a little bit; her tail flicking this way or that. She’d turn her head as the angel walked off with the others… Maybe it was for the best that they split up like this! She’d stare at Doku as he explained…
”If it triggers that sort of response we’ll need to be ready. Which shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Mr. Toki is really strong after all. The both of us are! Given the fact that they’d have to be really tough to give us problems…though I am worried about the town just a little bit.”
She’d cross her arms and huff a little bit; glancing at toki as he agreed to head towards the station. Once there the meicrackmon would pause; let her form take it’s higher state so that she could get that heightened ability of senses. She’d growl a little bit and crack her neck. She hadn’t been in this form for a bit. So it felt a bit weird.
Then one. Two. Three. Four other holly’s made themselves known. Each groaning, cracking or stretching their various body parts. The original would even take out jade and their various orbs from the infini storage. She had a little army of searchers here!
”Oh psh Mr. Toki. No one can expect everything and you shouldn’t beat yourself up for it. Plans upon plans. I can understand the sort of methology here. If I was going for something big like that I’d want to have back up plans too. If anything the fact that it’s been this long without an issue is a blessing…”
The ‘main’ holly would gesture for her clones to fan out, each one of them going off with an orb. Though holly herself had the ‘main’ ball and two smaller ones. She seemed to be concentrating and reaching out to try to sense for those reactions…
”We’re a team toki. And we have the time we need. Don’t beat yourself up… Ma believed in you didn’t she? So believe in yourself. I know I do.”

Welp, with things settled and battle plans laid out, it was time for the 2 teams to set off and take care of business. And while Toki and Holly would be working with Doku, Kenny and Skadi, along with Kitt, would be following Seraphimon, or rather, Angemon, to the city of Rosewood. As Angemon's team proceeded to walk off, Skadi turned and happily gave a wave to Toki, "Don't worry, Toki! We'll be fine!"
Kenny couldn't help but smile; his partner a lot of the time was brimming with optimism that just refused to shrivel up and die. And frankly? It was starting to rub off upon him. Maybe it was the antidepressants he was taking, but Ryouta and Valt's words rung true in his head. He had to have faith in not only his partner and his friends/teammates, but also himself.
He would keep that in mind as they walked along the path. And he was sure they and Kitt would make KIZNA proud of them today.
There wasn't much anything of note as the group walked to Rosewood, outside of Skadi walking close near Kitt to make sure he was alright. She wanted to help him in any way possible, to help extract his true potential and make the others proud, as she promised him.
When Angemon stopped to address and brief the apparent guard Leomon on why they were here, so did they, or at least Kenny and Skadi did. Kitt would most likely find a paw gripped tightly once more by Skadi, once again to ease his nerves should they had arisen once more. Meanwhile, with the Leomon turning to Kenny and Angemon getting him to explain why they were there in the first place, the young man took a deep breath as he looked up to the Leomon guard. His KIZNA badge could be seen glittering in the sun.
"First off, let me introduce ourselves on behalf of KIZNA. I'm Kenneth O'Hara, and that is my Valaismon partner, Skadi." He gestured to the sheep, before moving onto Kitt, "And that Spadamon over there is Kitt. We've recently been appointed by Angemon to help the locals deal with a recent sudden outbreak of rancid mushrooms suddenly springing up around Rosewood overnight. For now, it's not safe for the residents here to go out of the village, at least not yet."
"In the meantime, while we've already sent out a few people to help clear out the rancid mushrooms, we want to put up an exhibition match here in Rosewood to not only keep the residents entertained, but to also give some of the younger residents something to aspire to, and to show them what they can achieve with enough time and effort on their part." Kenny retained his cool as he addressed the lion man as calmly and professionally as possible.
Skadi nodded as well to the Leomon. Hopefully, the Leomon would buy this excuse and understand why they needed to do this. Lives were potentially at stake here, and if they were to save as many lives as they possibly could, then they had to do everything they could to help keep up the ruse and buy as much time as possible for both Holly and Toki to find the notes and weaken Wisemon's trap.

Well, maybe Holly would have some time to talk with the Sovereign later. For now, the mission was afoot - and as Toki conceded the point to Doku, the plant type giving a small nod, it didn't take long for the group to split up.
In transit, the orange MeiCrackmon turned black, a definite spike of power felt from her... and then there was two. Then three. Then four of that feline, Holly effectively becoming a one 'mon search party! To that, Doku couldn't help but scratch the back of his head. "Alright, I'm glad we have you on the recon side now. Still, searching the forest manually is going to be much less efficient than doing a scan... hm?"
Hearing Toki's apology, the Aruraumon tilted his head, giving the ZenCherubimon a curious look. "Interesting. That's something I've noticed about humans - they tend to put a lot of responsibility on themselves. Even when there's nothing they could have done about it." His tone sounded flat for a moment - and realizing the potential faux pas, the plant waved it off. "Anyway, I think that misses the scope of it. You might have been in a thick of it, but you were one 'piece on the board' in that mess. We had doctors on the back-line tending to the wounded, people risking their necks to try and figure out who was marked or not from the refugees, and a group desperately trying to keep heavy rainfall going on some nuclear signal that spiked up at the center of it all."
He sighed. "Truly, if you're in a position that you felt like you haven't done enough? A, that probably means you did everything you could back then, and B, you have a chance to fix it now."
That conversation carried them all the way through to the Trailmon Station - and just like the plant had indicated, it was definitely down for the season. Heck, it looked like it was about a month out of maintenance as well, with vines starting to grow over the metal steps that led into an abandoned ticket station, the wild flora easily claiming the rails just outside the station. The plant type would give a quick look around, not finding too much off. "Mei - er, Holly, go ahead and take a look around this place. To start, where would paper naturally be found in a train station?"
Of any 'random' structure around here, this would have been the place that refugees knew the location of - and it would have been one of the first places to think to hide. If the Wisemon was worth his salt, there was a piece of paper here somewhere. Doku, meanwhile, would direct Toki towards the relative center of the station.
"I'm... not gonna pretend to know how to focus 'holy' or 'divine' energy. Just do your thing, and expand the radius as far as you can." Well, Kenny was quite well spoken, now, wasn't he?
He definitely sold it well: he identified himself as an independent team, giving him a sense of agency and authority about the situation. He calmly echoed the Angemon's story, giving the detail that he lacked, and managed to come across natural enough that he wasn't 'forcing' the villagers to do anything - and he even made the cover story wide enough to be able to explain what the other group was doing at a moment's notice.
It was believable enough, so much that the exhibition match seamed woven into it all. To that, the Leomon's stoic expression gave way to a grin - followed by an arm hooked right around the Angemon's back. "Ya' see? You don't need to sound like a drone all the time! Well, can't say I've seen anything like that out on the path, but its not like I'm the type to look out for it."
He scratched the back of his nose, giving a shout over his shoulder: "Yo, Togemon! Go get some of the spare logs set up out back of the town, we're going to need some seating for this!"
"Yo!"
The catcus Digimon gave a wave as it stomped on towards the back, and the Leomon gave a nod to the two of them. "Well, do what you need to, to get ready. It'll take us a bit to get everyone gathered up back there - I'm going to tell the rest of the guard what's going on. Angemon, you mind watching the front for a minute?"
"Of course."
Everything fell into place - the two fighters and the tamers were welcomed right into Rosewood, and though it was a bit impromptu, at least those immediately around were in on it. Further, there were no visible marks on the Leomon nor the Togemon, suggesting that at least a good part of the town guard weren't part of this mess. Granted - they were probably under higher scrutiny than the civilians.
Now it was just a matter of getting everything set up for the impromptu fight!
