Toki’s form was impressive, it felt strange to see. Strange to watch. She was reminded of something that her ma had shown her some time ago. Something that she knew that silence had. What sort of form was this that was so peaceful? Something so tranquil yet so fierce and dedicated? It had the attention of the main holly but the other clones were focused on their counterpart that had become a host to those four pages. Unfortunately as cool as the ability was… Three was no longer who she was normally. In fact holly didn’t even feel the proper connection she did with her clones in a way. That or it was just muted. She couldn’t summon up another one which meant it was still linked to her and… Movement brought her attention to the pages that started towards their respective targets. One for Doku. One for Her. One for toki. Three clones, but they already knew what they were doing. ‘One’ ever watchful and always the smart one already was in motion. Her hand outstretched to snatch the one bound for toki from mid air. Out of everyone here they recognized the sheer danger of having such a powerhouse under the control of the mark. ‘Two’ was ‘slower’ on the uptake but only by a margin, she’d kick off of the ground to use her entire body to block the one bound for doku. Yes it’d likely end up with her in the same position as three was but it was far better that one of the clones took these marks than the physical bodies of Holly, Doku or Toki. Four was not in the right position to help holly, but she did have something she could do. As holly was distracted by the event with toki and didn’t have vision of her own page hurtling towards her the fourth clone vanished on the spot. Holly’s reaction speed to this sudden flood of knowledge about that page came faster than the page could move. These pages were adhesive to their physical bodies. How would they react to lightning blasting through them? A form of energy? Given the angle holly wouldn’t be able to hit both it and the wayward three but blasting it apart would… well. Lead to some hopefully promising results. The lightning from before launched from her fingers in a bolt of lightning, aimed dead center of the page. It was powerful enough that it could punch through armor. How would a piece of paper handle that? Log: -’One’ snatches at the paper hurtling towards toki -’Two’ Body blocks the one for doku -’Three’ ASDFGHJKL -’Four’ poofs. -Holly uses Lightning cross II to destroy the page bound for her. Relative Passive: Beast Dance|Inherited Move[RAM UPGRADE]: This digimon moves at unreasonable speeds; faster than it's cousins by a large margin this digimon is also largely frailer than it's cousins. Move: Lightning Cross II: Holly is capable of throwing lightning within two hundred feet of herself. They're surprisingly precise and punch through armor of enemies with ease. Deals high damage. Three post cool down.
Quasi|Scout Variation[RAM UPGRADE]: Holly can create up to four clones of herself that can mimic her movements almost perfectly. They can move around and physically interact with things. They are capable of advanced thought, speech and information gathering. Outside of combat they last until dismissed while in combat they only last for two. When struck these scouts vanish. They have no combative talents past scouting and are unable to make attacks on their own. Scout variants, when vanished share information that they learned with the host making them a valuable extension of ones self. Three post cool down. Scout Variants cannot be used during other Quasi Variants active periods or cool down periods. Duration: Quasi: [½] Cooldowns: LCII: [0/3] Quasi: Pending.

There was little in Toki's mind other than fury at the current events. Three had been possessed by the mark and now without the signal, the pages that weren't retrieved sought to control him, Doku, and Holly. Thankfully, but to Toki's sadness, Holly's other clones jumped to intercept them before any of them could be affected. That left Toki with time to focus entirely on the controlled clone.
He jumped away and materialized a flower in his hand "Moonflower Trance." The flower dispersed into petals that swarmed in front of him and towards the clone. Once its vision was obscured, Toki dashed forward, sword drawn. As soon as he sheathed his sword, a powerful slash would arc across the clone's body. At its level, Toki hoped it would be enough to destroy the clone.
So many thoughts in his mind. He should have been more careful. He should have been able to get to them faster. If he did, no one would be in danger right now. His own worries had to wait. With the other clones reaching out for the pages and Holly attempting to destroy the one going for her, only time would tell what the next move would have to be. At the very least, the pages could be safely destroyed without activating them. That dilemma was solved through Toki's quick thinking, but he still struggled to believe he did enough given what happened.
------
Toki attempts to destroy 'Three' using Moonflower Trance
Moonflower Trance: A lotus blossom manifests in Kenshimon’s hand in full bloom. A gust of wind scatters the petals as he walks forward. As soon as the petals obscure the opponent’s vision, he dashes past them, sword drawn. When he sheathes his sword, the enemy is slashed by an unseen force. Bypasses armor and defensive abilities. [3 Turn Cooldown]
Cooldowns: Eight Phase Transient Step 1/3, Moonflower Trance 0/3.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Apr 10, 2020 7:13:14 GMT
It seems Skadi's little gambit to throw Kitt off guard and strike him underneath ran into a little snag; the cracks. Watching Kitt spot the cracks and avoid them, despite the massive handicap in the form of the arena-wide earthquake was enough to craft a mental note to not have the spire produce the cracks as a warning next time. And next time, Kitt wouldn't know what hit him.
For now, with the spire retreating back into the ground from where it came, and being swallowed up by the soil, Skadi's eyes remained locked upon the now-airborne Kitt, who had now drawn his sword, and let out a flurry of slashes all flying towards her, making her eyes widen in surprise. Still, she had to stay strong, tensing her body and readying for her jump as she bent her knees.
The next few moments were just a blur to Kenny, just trying to gauge what was going on. There was no way Kitt was sheathing and unsheathing his sword in mid-air just for shits and giggles; his gut feeling told him that Kitt must have done something in retaliation to fight back. And surprise surprise, Skadi was all too aware of what those slashes might do.
She made for a short backwards bound to try and dodge the slashes. The first few she barely dodged, exploding upon the ground in front of her and leaving a trail of smoke. Her relief ended up short lived, as the rest of the slashes flew towards her body, small but painful explosions striking from what felt like everywhere and what felt like forever to her, forcing her to let out heavy bleats of pain.
And that wasn't even the worst part.
You see, Skadi's body was protected by a thick layer of heavy wool. Which was fine when facing against opponents in hand-to-hoof melee, and against ice-wielders like Ophelia, which her thick coat could absorb the blows easily and, in Opheila's case, soft check her. Fire wielding opponents, on the other hand? Well... her thick coat wasn't exactly fit for warmer climates and opponents. That meant that fire attacks would do quite an extra number to her, due in part to the heat trapped inside her wool.
And here was Kitt the White Leomon, now casually waving her Kryptonite around from what felt like completely out of nowhere..
Joy.
As the explosions died down and the smoke started to clear, Skadi could be seen wincing in pain, bending on one knee from the assault as she forced herself back up, and coughing from the dying smoke, "Uhhhgh... that smarts..." She moaned, looking up at her temporary adversary. No. She shook her head. She wasn't going to give Kitt the satisfaction of seeing him deal a good amount of damage to her. Her gaze fell upon Kitt once more as her front hoof scraped upon the grass.
"I mean- Is that the best you got, Kitt?" She cried as she stomped the ground once more. This time, she threw her head towards Kitt and let out a mighty, ear-splitting bleat! While the loud bleats reverberated around the entire arena for all to hear, shockwaves emerged from the mouth of the Canandemon, flying directly towards the White Leomon, with vigor and intensity, threatening to knock him off his feet once more.
Fittingly, Kenny cupped his ears and winced, but he did take the time to take another glance around the audience. So far so good. The audience was starting to get really hooked, from the looks of things. All they needed to do now was keep up the momentum, and if possible, maybe milk a loud cheer or two. But one thing still remained on his mind:
Should he call Holly and Toki yet?
Skadi is hit by Kitt's Exceed-boosted Tranquil Slice and takes extra damage thanks to Woolly Coat passive. She recovers and fires back a Wild Bleat to possibly knock the White Leomon off his feet.
Wild Bleat: Similar to Echo Bleat, she bleats very loudly, which causes damage and possible disorientation, including forcing flying Digimon down from the sky. This latter effect can also affect Ultimates, but not Megas and above. Does not incur friendly fire. (2 post cooldown).
Passives: Tough Hooves (Passive): Skadi can run across craggy terrain, icy terrain or hot terrain without taking any damage. She can also walk/run on ice without slipping, and climb crags with ease. This also nullifies the effects of any attacks that involve scattering spikes or other damaging terrain onto the ground (damage, poison, ect). However, this does not stop other effects from occurring from those attacks (those being explosions, pitfall traps, net traps, and the like)
Woolly Coat (Passive): Her wool coat gives her sheer bulk, and warmth rolled up into one package, which allows her to reduce all physical attacks and Ice attacks by 30%. However, this also increases all damage from Fire attacks by 20%.
Buffs/Nerfs: Battlecry (+30% ATK, +10% SPD): 2/3
Cooldowns: Spiral Tremor: 1/3 Wild Bleat: 0/2

Kitt grit his teeth at Skadi. She was in no position to talk smack, considering he had just attacked her with slashes primed with explosions that did a good amount of damage to the wool covering her body. He was reminded on how Ophelia took a nasty hit from him when they first sparred, then getting right back up with a smile on her face. Those two really were alike. But unlike before, when he snapped at Ophelia for just laughing pain off, he firmed the grip on the hilt of his sword even more, seeing that his opponent was just getting started. The deafening bleat rang throughout his eardrums as he grabbed both ears to shut it out. The sound blast was so intense that it caused him to skid a few inches back. The ringing in his ears were like standing right underneath a large bell in a bell tower. Opening one eye, he saw not one, not two, but...three Skadi's...? That can't be--no. His senses were all over the place. But he wasn't going to let that stop him. "Sudden..." It was time to stop messing around. Revving up Blue Queen once more, blue flames igniting across the blade that grew brighter. "...Gale." He release a slash of wind again, only this time attack was engulf with flames as it tracked towards Skadi and the two other copies he was seeing. His goal wasn't to not actually hit her, but to remind her to not breathe and take it so easily yet, now that he knows her weakness. Combat Log:Kit gets hit by Skaid's Wild Beat, disorienting him and making him see two more Skadi's side by side from each other.
Kitt attacks back with an Exceed-powered Sudden Gale to possibly attack Skadi.Sudden Gale - Kitt releases a single slash of wind from his katana that throws almost any Digimon off their feet. With Exceed, the slash of wind is imbue with blue flames, increasing the damage by 20%. Cooldown: None if used regularly. One with Exceed. Consumes one fuel phial.
Passives:
[/spoiler] Advanced Feline Senses - Kitt retains his superior senses of vision and hearing as a Spadamon, making him able to function in combat if either senses were compromised.
Cooldown/s: Tranquil Slice: 1/4 Sudden Gale: 0/1
Fuel Phials: One fuel phial expended; two remain.

The pages, as they were, were only designed to be a surprise trap - and to a group on-guard, they weren't overly difficult to handle. Holly's own clones were more than enough to cover the space, and even as that piece of paper would land flat against two - and start to transfer its mark - Doku was much faster on the uptake. The Aruraumon's right hand pointed outward, and an array of sharpened vines would stretch right out - destroying 'Two' before it could cause any real damage.
And, one-on-one, the clone didn't stand too much of a stance against Toki. In fact, she seemed almost aghast that the Kenshimon was able to dodge it at all - and as that glint of metal flicked by, the clone would give two blinks, before looking over its shoulder. It gave a grin, as if ready to pursue - before a wide gash of data spilled right out from its stomach, the clone vanishing on the spot. The last page was reduced to cinder by Holly's lightning, leaving only the crumpled sample, held tight in 'One's' fist.
There was a tense moment of silence, before Doku would finally give out a calm, relaxed breath, drawing back his vines. "... Okay. Okay, recap." The plant type assessed what they had learned: "Toki can use ZenCherubimon to detect the pages - and Kenshimon to destroy them before they have a chance to activate. And, so long as we know where the pages are, we should be able to destroy them if we're on-guard. Its not a guarantee, but I see no reason other pages should behave differently."
Doku bit his lip at that. "Solving the 'basic' situation is just a matter of time plus effort involved. The only variable left is if someone is already marked."
And to that point, Doku realized an issue: "Proving a negative is going to be hard. I guess the best we can ensure is that everyone in Whitewater is okay. There's a chance that someone 'affected' has already made it out to Terminus, Whitewater, or even the human world. Tsk." Alright, now that was what they came here for! Pyrotechnics, fire, explosions - and perhaps slight worry that this was going to ruin the soil or foundation for future buildings, but heck, maybe a dedicated arena was something that Rosewood could use!
The Leomon, at the very least, found himself grinning ear to ear at the display. Despite his weakness, the ram stood up, and gave its own, powerful battle-cry, speaking out in defiance against the fiery beast. And Kitt would strike right on back, the two starting to get into their own fight as well.
The crowd itself found themselves looking on in interest... but perhaps there was the slightest sense that something was amiss. Sure, they might have all been drawn near the fight - but didn't that also make the town itself less guarded?

Holly’s expression didn’t waiver as she saw things unfold in front of her. Two’s eyes flicked to doku and gave a small nod as they were destroyed. The clone poofing before the mark could take hold. What would become of the paper after that? Would it fly forward still or was its transfer just a one time thing?
Holly folded her arm and mumbled to herself. Three didn’t stand a chance as an ultimate against what she presumed to be a mega. The clones were physically weaker than an ultimate and even if they had gotten them in a hold… Well they likely wouldn’t have been able to do much. She’d grit her teeth watching that clone practically explode outwards. She knew three wouldn’t hold it against toki and two would be grateful that the paper didn’t have a chance to do anything.
One gritted her teeth and looked to the others, the fist clenching tighter around that crumpled note. If she let go would it continue outwards to it’s target or try to attach to her?
”So I should keep my hand around this bit then? Don’t think we want to risk it to do anything too much. Or should we destroy it too?”
One looked to holly who frowned and looked to toki. She was unsure herself but Doku made sense. They can detect the pages, use kenshimon to destroy them and… well as long as they knew where pages were they could deal with them as they came. Holly’s eyes flashed and she’d move over to doku.
”In a term of time, it’s been quite a bit since the fight against the wisemon and his plants. If the marked mons made it out of this area to terminus, whitewater or the human world we can’t really do much to contain them. What we can do here is make sure that there aren’t more.”
Holly rubbed at her chin and her eyes shifted to look at toki. They had options. They had time. But the meicrackmon had to wonder about something. Her eyes looked down to her hands and she’d huff.
”We’re still in the same boat as before. We still have places we need to search. Other zones places would hide. Other places that the wisemon would know to place his pages. I doubt that this is the last. Should I try to resummon the other three clones?”
Holly rubbed at her neck. Would three still be marked? Would they be fine? She didn’t know. Would that data work into her system? Was it already doing so? She didn’t know. She’d grit her teeth and sigh a bit.
”Good work toki. Maybe in the next batch I can have all the pages in the same place…”

He walked over to One and took a stance "On my mark, let go of it carefully." He said. Once, and if, One complied, he would swiftly slash it in in multiple directions, the flash of the crystalline blade shining briefly. "Seeing just how quickly this affects people...I'm sorry, but for now I can't allow these to be out in the world."
Whatever happens, Toki sighed as the situation seemed to be resolved. He reverted to ZenCherubimon. "I agree with Holly. Before we worry too much about the marked ones that have escaped, we need to make sure that no others can suffer the same fate. While we had a scare, the pages here have been eliminated and we should move on to the next suspected area. The rescue force's headquarters, yes? That's not too far from here. I remember it from when I fought to stop Wisemon's army. We'll do a sweep of that area, gather the paces carefully, and I'll take them out before they have a chance to activate." There was a lot of pressure on him to make this work, but he was up for the challenge.
"Now that we have a method, all that we need is time, and provided that Kitt, Kenny, and Skadi are doing well we should have it. Still, we should hurry to our next destination and locate any potential threats before moving on to the city proper. While the people are distracted, their defenses may also be thinned from the plan, so we should act quickly."
Toki floated over to Holly and pat her shoulder gently. "Are you okay?" He asked. This must have hit her hard. "On our way to the next location, why not try summoning them again? If things go wrong we'll be ready to strike and find out how to help your clone when all is said and done..." He said. He couldn't imagine how difficult this thought must have been for Holly. "We can beat this. I know we can." They had to, but he wanted his message to be bright and optimistic. "Regardless, you did good, Holly. Without you here, who knows where we would be? Your curiosity, ingenuity...it's a huge boon." He thought for a moment and looked at Holly "If...if you're absolutely sure about studying the seal, keep your infinity storage ready. We'll see if it can contain a page for safe transport and study. Just make sure who studies it is someone you have utmost trust in..."

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Apr 14, 2020 7:06:34 GMT
Truth be told, Skadi's words were more or less a way to nudge Kitt's potential in the right direction. In battles like this, Skadi could actually afford to say shit like that. But at the same time, even in friendly combat, Skadi was not usually one to hand out satisfaction on a gleaming silver plate. Not without one hell of a fight, anyways.
Speaking of said fight, Skadi's powerful bleat had knocked Kitt quite a ways back, if the skidding was anything to go by. She threw her head down and gave another confident grin at him, "How'd ya like that, pal!?" She cried out, "There's more where that came from!" It was a little something not only to encourage Kitt to push himself just a little bit harder than before, but also to tease the audience with another possible dazzling spectacle she had up her own sleeve.
Still, she was not ready to rest on her laurels just yet. Rather, her focus was still on Kitt and Kitt alone - or rather, his fancy flaming mechanical sword. Another singular slash, this time horizontal, came careening her way, and after that last nasty bit of pyrotechnics, needless to say, she was of no interest to find herself on the business end of the flames.
Once again, she leapt to the side to try and avoid the flames. But the wider distance of the flames ensured that, this time, Skadi wasn't going to escape unscathed. Just before hitting the ground, the firey blade cut through her side like a warm knife through butter, forcing her to stumble back once more as she fought to regain her footing.
Once she did, she fired another competitive glare towards the White Leomon, as her horns started to glow a bright white. Without missing a beat, she dashed forwards towards him, her foot trampling along the grass, hoping to send him flying with absolute ease. With the effects of her initial battlecry ready to die down, it was time to throw caution to the wind and give it everything she got!
All the while, as the fight raged on, Kenny's eyes glanced around once more all around the spectators around the arena, with a more subtle grin. Those two were certainly crowd pleasers, that was for sure. Again he thought whenever to contact either Toki or Holly about what was going on thus far, if they found anything and what they had discovered about the marks thus far. But then he just so happened to spot the Leomon guard from earlier, enjoying the match as well.
That original thought had to be put on hold for now.
Fighting to keep his eyes away from the battle, just to see how the two were doing, he approached the Leomon guard and gave a little tap on the shoulder in a bid to grab his attention (or back, whatever worked). Had he turned, Kenny would start speaking, just loud enough so the battle, and any possible cries or cheers from the crowd, wouldn't drown his words out, as he cupped his hands around his mouth.
"Excuse me, uh, sir, sorry to interrupt you, but do you have anyone watching over your post right now at least, just in case?" He asked him. Perhaps the fight was going a little too well when it came to holding their attention, if it was drawing guards in too. If at the very least, it would be good to get this little bugger out of their systems.
And, y'know, not have some wiley criminal rear their ugly head here undetected .
Skadi gets hit by Kitt's Sudden Gale in an attempt to dodge it. With the Battlecry effect ending this post, she goes in with a Rampaging Charge directly at Kitt, aiming to send him flying a good way back.
Rampaging Charge: Skadi's horns glow bright white and she charges at the opponent. She can choose to headbutt them or gore them or toss them upon contact. Essentially, it's a more powerful version of Ramming Headbutt, and can easily send other Champions flying on contact. Taking the law of physics into consideration, any damage boost outside of any standard attack buffs is equal to any speed boosts Skadi has gotten, so a 10% speed boost will also boost this attack by 10%, a 20% speed boost also boosts this attack by 20% and so on. (1 post cooldown)

Kitt wasn't taking this battle lightly. Just by exchanging blows with Skadi alone, he knew that she could go one step beyond - to evolve to the Ultimate level, but chose not too from the get-go. Was she holding back, simply because to even the playing field so he wouldn't lose immediately? From her taunting, saying there was more where that came from, he couldn't help but growl at her in anger, before calming himself down.
As a White Leomon, he was prone to angry outburst, so he made sure he doesn't get too worked up with mere taunts, or else he'll lose his composure and lash out. This only happened two times: first to when he first evolve, slamming his soon-to-be sensei, Lord Dio, into a tree. The second...well Lord Dio again.
So far, he had landed two good blows on Skadi, the last one glazing her, cauing her to stumble a step or two. And he fully intended to follow that up with more moves. Seeing that her weakness was fire, Kitt was fully prepared to exploit it as long as he had fuel phials left in Blue Queen. Glancing at the gauge on his hilt, there were only two fuel phials left. Now he had to use it sparsely.
Thus, he watched as she charged at him, her glowing horns aiming to ram him. Kitt didn't dare to move out of the way. Instead, he put both of his hands outward, forming a orange hex barrier around himself as Skadi came crashing head fist, intending to shield himself from the attack. In the standstill, Kitt would meet Skadi's eyes.
"Mad'am Skadi, why are you holding back?" he asked in a firm tone . "It's as Doku-sama said: we have to be trying to win this, no matter what. You have to come at me with everything you got. And I mean everything." The hex barrier would then pulse with a shockwave, aiming to send Skadi flying back.
Kitt then stood proudly, giving her an angry gaze. "So come on! Stop holding back and digivolve to the Ultmate level already! It doesn't matter if I'm weaker than you. If you want to win this, then do it!"
Combat Log:
Kitt blocks Skadi's Rampaging Charge with Pride Barrier, aiming to block her attack and send the force back to her, knocking her back instead.
Pride Barrier - Forms a temporary barrier around the user that absorbs and blocks attacks launched at him. Knock back those up to Champion that attempts to attack him with melee strikes. Reduces damage from Ultimates by 50%. Can block up to three attacks. Cooldown is three posts.
Passives: Advanced Feline Senses - Kitt retains his superior senses of vision and hearing as a Spadamon, making him able to function in combat if either senses were compromised.
Cooldowns: Tranquil Slice: 2/4
Sudden Gale: 1/1; ready for use.
Exceed: Two fuel phials remain.

"Its difficult to say if the spell will ever 'deactivate', to be fair. At the very least, I'd take caution when stowing it away into the Infini-Store."
But, so long as it was kept away in another pocket dimension, the plant type wasn't too worried about it - at least, not in the short term. As for how widespread the problem could be, both Holly and Toki raised a good point: "No point worrying about the damage that's already been done, then? Hm... maybe we can design some sort of beacon the cities could use to detect them in the long run. But it would have to detect a pretty narrow signal... tch, I'm getting way off-track again."
Right, that wasn't the point of this mission. Once it was clear that Holly was doing alright (at least for the moment, the MeiCrackmon should feel as normal as she could expect). The next place to check out was the rescue force's headquarters - and after that, they would make a bee-line for the city. "I'm a little concerned about Rosewood, but I agree. We have to be quick, thorough, and effective - and we can't write off the possibility that our actions so far might have triggered an 'agent' to investigate why the traps were triggered. Keep your eyes open and ready while we move to the next spot..." ... Well, speak of the devil, really.
It wouldn't take them long to actually get to the next spot - but what they saw might not have been what they were expecting. This area, marked by a number of abandoned tent spikes and a few, rotting wooden racks, was indeed littered with pieces of the Wisemon's foul paper...
The key word being 'pieces'. Pieces already being dragged around by a swarm of Kuramon. From a bit of cover, Doku gave a blink at the remarkably odd display. Heck, at least twenty of the darn things were plainly visible, perhaps more numerous than the pages themselves.
"Interesting..." Doku kept his voice low. "You see this more commonly in abandoned electrical stations - Kuramon will generally try to consume anything it deems an 'easy' source of data. From here, its hard to tell if the marks are even affecting them." Could it affect them? Was this the forest's odd way of removing foul data from itself?
"... Either these are wild, or someone intentionally led these guys here." Doku bit at a vine. Despite their potential adversary being literal fresh levels, this situation still made Doku hesitate. "Hm?"
The Leomon blinked, looking down at the tamer. The sudden question caught him a bit off-guard, but he returned a nod shortly after: "Well, yeah - your Angemon friend is watching the front of the city. Togemon's making sure that our gatherers delay their little escapade out in the woods - though I wouldn't say we'd be able to keep track of everyone, regardless. 'Mons could have their personal portals, and the like."
It wouldn't be perfect, in any respect, but the Leomon seemed comfortable enough with the situation. Then again, maybe the lion was thinking that the situation was well-enough under control as it is.
Though Kitt's weird comment did perk his ear, as well as the crowd. Doku? What did that have to do with anything? "Anyway, why are you so interested in that? Shouldn't you be helping your partner, well, not get all their wool burned off out there?"

One let go of the page without a second thought and nodded to toki after the deed had been done. She’d rub at her neck and glance at holly who just waved to the clone. They’d stick around and sort of just lean against a wall while everyone else talked. One was the quiet, all business and effective individual that holly grew to adore. But as toki spoke her attention shifted and the clone seemed to like the things she heard from the young human.
”Slow but steady. Best way to work this. We can’t risk the ink touching us or anyone else for that matter. It seemed to react to even the slightest touch judging by how it took three.”
Holly flicked her ears forward and smiled up at toki at feeling that pat and the support he gave to her. She’d flick her ears this way and that before humming thoughtfully.
”I think it’d be good if we could but… If we can’t that’s okay too. There might be a way of getting a rough sketch of the seals on the pages or something…”
He made sense when it came to how they should go about studying this and she’d nod her head as doku addressed all of this.
”Put it in a jar then put it in the infini storage pocket I use for plants or for books. Don’t worry.”
Holly didn’t seem to mind the idea of using the cities as a beacon in some places but… that also would be worrying if there were pages in them? She’d rub at her chin and follow after doku as he spoke. So they might have triggered an agent and well… That would be bad. She’d tut as they continued.
”If so we lost the element of surprise. So lets hurry.”
At the new location holly found herself gritting her teeth. Pieces of the pages were being dragged around by some kuramon. A swarm of kuramon and she couldn’t help but rub her temples. Sending in the clones would be a problem here. They wouldn’t be able to deal with all of these properly…
”It’s safe to assume that someone led them here… Given their timing. Tch... They could feed off of my clones so I can’t use them here. One?”
The clone turned her head and looked to the situation. Her eyes flicking from kuramon to kuramon and it wasn’t long before she frowned.
”They aren’t moving strangely. But they could be under effect of the marks. My suggestion is if we’re to approach this we do so carefully. They are fresh, yes but it’s hard to know if they only are capable of fresh. It’s possible that one or two of them could be stronger… Hmm. One person should approach. Holly?”
Holly sighed a bit an turned her attention to the others.
”Stay on stand by and if anything happens don’t worry about knocking me out or whatever. If someone attacks or they scatter… or even allow us to talk well. We’ll be okay. Just be on standby yeah?”
If no one argued she’d approach the swarm of kuramon… A gentle smile and her tail flicking this way or that. More out of curiosity than anything!
”Hey there little guys…”

Toki was glad that Holly and the clones were understanding of his worries. The group would have to be extra careful going forward, but something bothered Toki. Three's data returned to Holly, but what did that mean for the mark? No, there's no way it would affect Holly. Right? He grit his teeth and looked clearly worried, but he tried his best to move forward despite those. He had to remain optimistic, but if something happened to Holly he wouldn't be able to forgive himself.
However, before he could further dwell on this possible dilemma, the group decided on a plan of action and moved forward to the now abandoned rescue base, where they found their next obstacle. A swarm of Kuramon floated around and were feasting on the scrap data of the pages. At first, there was a moment of relief. The pages were gone, but something occurred to Toki "Kuramon are...the closest to human world viruses in how they operate, right? What if they...find a way to integrate that mark into their own data? That could be a disaster waiting to happen." He said. Still, he kept an eye on them and observed how they would move. If someone did lead them here, then who and why?
He watched Holly approach the swarm. His worry mounted, but he respected the decision and remained on standby, though he lowered a hand towards the ground and prepared to strike in case anything happened here. "Be careful, Holly..." He said as he watched. There were way too many variables right now to make Toki relax in any way, but he did his best to remain calm. As much as he hated to admit it, Toki needed to stay far away from any potential ways of getting marked as much as possible. If he were controlled, then the whole plan goes up in smoke. He couldn't let that happen.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Apr 20, 2020 9:46:38 GMT
Often, when Skadi started her ferocious charge, her head buckled down and all, her mentality would just boil down to 'attack first, ask questions later'. And she was not willing to let up. Not even when Kitt barely budged an inch and let himself get hit yet not get a scratch on him wait, what?
Yes, as it turned out, Skadi had been stopped dead in her tracks by the orange barrier formed just in front of her. No matter how hard she pushed herself, neither Kitt nor the barrier would budge an inch. Not like she was going to try and still break it anyway, pushing herself harder and harder, hoping just for a minute that the barrier would crack under the sheer pressure she forced herself more and more onto it, her eyes locking onto Kitt's.
'Holding back'? What do you mean by 'holding back'? Skadi tried to comprehend the words Kitt told her. As far as she was concerned, she was giving it her all and fighting on equal ground with Kitt, instead of simply trampling him with an objectively more powerful form. That'd be boring! She kept pushing forward in her futile attempt to destroy the barrier... only for a sudden shockwave from seemingly out of nowhere, sending her tumbling back a few good feet away from Kitt, rolling across the grassy field before coming to a complete halt. Wincing in pain as she tried to pull herself up once more, she turned her head across to Kitt with a pointed glare.
Wait, did her really tell her to just up and go Ultimate already? A stunned silence fell over Skadi, hoping, just hoping that she didn't just hear that. She didn't want to make this unfair on him! Hell, as far as she was concerned, they were both giving their all. She struggled to find the words to tell Kitt something, anything!
What was she to do?
It was often a real bad habit of Kenny's to try and micromanage even the tiniest little insignificant detail that the average sane person wouldn't give a shit about. But Kenny wasn't an average sane person now, was he? If at the very least, he internally breathed a sigh of relief, hearing that Seraphi- Angemon had at least took up the Leomon's shift, in the meantime, "Point. Does make me think how can a simple solo Digimon can just summon portals right out of nowhere, though. Kind of interesting to think about it, if you ask me." He joked.
Even after all this time, he had yet to fully wrap his head around the world of Digimon.
Kitt's declaration, and subsequently, the Leomon guard's comment, however, changed his course fairly quickly. His glance first fell upon Skadi, looking at him intently, before moving back to the Leomon guard, "Well, I got really concerned when I saw you out there, because for a moment there, I thought nobody was guarding the village, and some baddies might have been slipping in under our noses." He pointed out, "But then again, everyone and their dog do say I tend to micromanage pretty much everything under the sun, but who's counting? Hold on a minute."
Skadi was all too ready to swallow her pride at this point, as she mulled over her options; either go Perfect and wallop Kitt easily or stay Champion and face more accusations of holding back from him. Not much of a moment later, she shot another glance over to Kenny, "Hit me."
Biting his lip quietly, Kenny would raise his D-Nexus once more, followed by the exact same flash of light emerging from both it, and Skadi. There wouldn't be a drastic change in size here, but in posture, as her four-legged body became two once more. Once the light burst, the goat would look down upon Kitt with a brash grin, withdrawing her great sword slowly and gently, before swinging it to the side.
She didn't budge. She didn't move. All she did was beckon Kitt over to her with her free hand. "Bring it."
Was Kitt crazy? Wasn't this basically a death sentence at this point? Well, Kitt was asking for it. And if he didn't want her to hold back? Well, fine. She wouldn't.
Skadi digivolves to her Markhormon form, but does not move otherwise. What is she planning?
Passives: Mountaineer (Passive): Markhormon possesses a tough and well-rugged body that has survived even the harshest of winters. This in turn reduces damage from all Ice attacks by 50% and physical attacks by 30%. However, she takes 50% more damage from fire attacks.
Toxic Immunity (Passive): Markhormon’s immune system naturally prevents Skadi from suffering poison/corrosion from any attacks/passives, or suffering any ill effects from them (damage, paralysis etc). Likewise, her foamy saliva, if swallowed, or in some cases, rubbed into an affected area of a poison victim, will automatically heal the Digimon of any poison/corrosion effects they may suffer… if they’re willing to use it at all, obviously. If used on an ally, then they have up to 2 poison/corrosion effects lifted from them, and Skadi goes through a 3 turn cooldown period, where she will be no longer immune to effects from poison/corrosion until it finishes. If Skadi digivolves to this form while poisoned/corroding, then she will automatically be cured in the same post.

A silence befell around the arena as Kitt folded his arms, awaiting Skadi's answer. He had been pretty quiet up until this point, only calling the name of his attack only one. Even though what he said came out of left field, but in order to make this exhibition match as eye appeasing as possible, they had to pull out all the stops, to ensure that the fight didn't drag out for too long, otherwise the audience would get bored and start to leave, putting them in danger with whatever the other group's doing right now.
In addition, there was a strong case of insecurity slowly bubbling up inside of him, that being his current form being the highest he could go. He had plenty of training, sure, it was all pre-prepared before hand to make sure he didn't get hurt. That was the problem: everyone was pampering him--treating him like a little kid that couldn't defend himself. And looking at Skadi's reaction to what he said, she was too.
With only two words, Kenny evolved Skadi once more, making Kitt shield one eye with his arm. As the light died down, what stood before him was a Digimon of similar physique to him. only sightly taller than him, boasting a heavy sword made out of bones -- Markhormon.
Kitt clenched his fist, concentrating enough energy that a fiery avatar of a lion's head appeared, and getting into a battle ready pose, glaring at his opponent. His arm started to tremble as his heart raced in anticipation. It was hard to see, but deep down he was scared.
With a battle cry, Kitt rushed towards Skadi. Once he got close enough, he leaped into the air aiming a strong punch to her face. It didn't matter if he was outclassed, he was gonna give it his all, as a fellow warrior to another,
Combat Log:
Kitt charges and aims to attack Skadi with Beast King's Fist.
Beast King’s Fist - Channels energy from his fist that takes the shape of a lion’s head to punch the enemy or fire it from a distance.
Passives:
Advanced Feline Senses - Kitt retains his superior senses of vision and hearing as a Spadamon, making him able to function in combat if either senses were compromised.
Cooldowns:
Tranquil Slice: 3/4
Exceed:
Two fuel phials remain.

There were several risks to consider with these Kuramon. Most obviously, they could simply be under the control of the mark - but Toki touched on something that was perhaps far more problematic.
'What if they find a way to integrate that mark into their own data'?
"Hm..." Whether intentional or not from Toki, that line of thought brought up a similar thought in the plant Digimon's head. He brought a hand up to his chin, thinking it over: "Objectively speaking, I think its fairly unlikely that the Kuramon are actually being controlled. We know from experience that Wisemon's 'marks' are literal, visible marks that are transferred onto the target. Even when one got to Holly's clone, it had to literally transfer the ink and shape onto the target. What the Kuramon are more likely doing is like throwing a spellbook into a furnace."
That was, at least, how Doku saw it up front. There was always the risk that he was wrong with the how the spell works - but more importantly? "In the worst case, these Kuramon learn how to make marks, themselves."
As the MeiCrackmon gave her gentle approach? The ones that were already close to pages didn't even seem to give her any attention - but those that were alone, or closest to the MeiCrackmon, started to hop up. A small bundle of them - about six - were now looking eye-to-eye with the ultimate level. They didn't move past that - but, then again, it was hard to read the expression on these Digimon, especially from a single eyeball.
"... While she's looking at that..." Doku stood up, allowing Holly's clone to keep sight of the smaller Digimon. Rather than simply wait here, the plant Digimon let his roots dig into the ground - until he found something. He'd carefully lead Toki along, and a few yards away - to the right of the camp - they'd find a single, long trail, as if it was left by a wheel, dug right into the mud.
A short distance away, a large wheelbarrow was overturned, and left with the rest of the junk left with the camp. It wouldn't have stood out, ordinarily, but: "This is fresh - intentional. Rain would have wiped this away within two days." "What's so weird about a solo Digimon using portals? Just because you tamers buy the things all the time doesn't mean we can't get it ourselves!"
Sheesh! He largely waved that point off. He appreciated Kenny's concern, but honestly, he was lucky that he could pass as an 'ignorant human' asking that question. "As far as I see it, so long as no-one goes out on the trail to mess with the mushrooms, it should be fine." And by that logic, should he really be worried if someone uses a portal out to weather the storm? There was absolutely no reason to police that - nor did it really put any risk of the forest group being found.
Well. Unless someone thought to teleport right to a hot spot.
As for the fight at-hand, though, the Leomon couldn't help but give a chuckle. "Heh. For at least one of 'em here, sounds like this was quite a long time coming."
