”If they do then things will get a lot more difficult but it’s far too early for us to even consider that option.”
Holly gave a small wave, they had no basis for that to be possible yet. If it was possible then they’d likely just… have to either round up all the kuramon to get them into the village so they could keep a good eye on them or… Well really that was the only option she wanted to think about.
”Oh c’mon Uncle toki it’ll be fine~”
Holly chuckled a bit as she approached the kuramon’s; they were cute and she definitely liked them. They reminded her of a friend she had made back in whitewater. The ones that weren’t close to the pages were the ones that reacted to her and that was an initial problem. The ultimate smiled warmly to the six that were stacked onto one another and the meicrackmon leaned a bit.
”Hi there little guys and girls. I’m looking for some pages~! A really mean digimon put them around here and it seems like some of your friends found some! While this is good that they’re getting eaten up we can’t help but worry about you all…”
Holly drew something out of her infini storage, it was a bag of sweets and a separate bag of jerky! Her mom had liked both so why wouldn’t some of the kuramon’s like them? The sweets were mostly mint flavored chocolate and the jerky was the solid stuff that lasted for fricken ever…
”If you and your friends stop eating those pages I’ve got some treats for you all. We need to collect them~ so why not a trade?”
They had to be hungry if they were eating these pages for their data substance. And hopefully if they bit on that she could gently interact with the rest of them. She had more food in her storage that she could use to string them along. Some canned food and some burgers she had been saving for the after mission but… This seemed like a better use!

Toki smiled softly at Holly's kindness. His paranoia and fear were making him assume the worst out of given situations, but if he gave into those feelings he'd fall into the despair filled, nihilistic worldview that he hated so much. Approach with kindness and understanding, and fight back if it truly came down to it. He had to pull himself back from his concerns and worries. Something about how she called him Uncle Toki just made his day as he fondly remembered his time with her and K. That felt so long ago.
For the moment, he didn't extend his aura. Until there was a clearer grasp of the situation, he would investigate the area normally alongside Doku. Thankfully it seemed that the Kuramon were curious about Holly and simply hovered around her as opposed to try anything threatening. The others were a point of concern, but he'd simply keep an eye on things as he followed Doku to the point of interest he discovered.
He inspected the overturned cart and the trail left behind by the wheels. He tried to think of the possible reasons it was just here "Well that means someone was here not too long ago, that's for certain. But for what purpose? To loot the place? The timing seems a little too perfect for that to be the case." He scratched at his chin. "Were they trying to lure something here? The Kuramon, maybe? Or to throw us off the trail? Maybe they were chased off by something before they had a chance to get out of here...or worse." He looked around as he tried to find any other evidence of someone else being here. "Before we dig around the pile of scrap for clues, let's at the very least confirm it's safe to touch." He said as he held his hands out. The aura extended from his hands and around the wheelbarrow in a sphere to test of there are any cursed pages within.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Apr 28, 2020 6:21:18 GMT
There was something so brave, yet so foolhardy, that Skadi could see inside Kitt, willing to push himself to his absolute limits. If anything, this was her first fight against Valt as Cardinaldramon all over again, only this time, with her assuming Valt's role in his steed. But why here, of all places? Besides, her fire weakness (and the fact Kitt basically wielded her kryptonite, as she learnt the hard way) already put her into a lot of pressure in the first leg of the fight.
Still, Kitt was right. They couldn't hold back. And just because Skadi could most likely just up and trounce Kitt right on the spot without breaking a sweat didn't mean she wasn't going to take him lightly either. Thus, her eyes locked directly onto the white Leomon and his flaming fist. It was only natural that he'd be nervous about what was ahead.
Cue mental note to make it more than up to him later.
She didn't budge. Not even when Kitt was rushing headfirst towards her. Nor when Kitt leapt up high and threatened to punch her. All she did was give the ground one mighty stomp. Once again, the earth would shake once more, but not as intense. From the earth sprung a giant stone wall surrounding Skadi's entire front, all lined with sharp spikes from the front, threatening to impale whatever part of Kitt found themselves on the business end of one.
Whatever happened, the wall barely suffered a dent, and instead, once everything was said and done, it would return back into the earth once more, leaving no trace. But Skadi's face bore a more serious look this time around as she looked down at the white Leomon, her sword still drawn.
"Kitt, are you sure you want to go through with this?" Despite the firm nature of her tone, not a trace of anger or bitterness could be heard, just concern, "You do realise that I'm in an objectively more stronger form than yours. And you were doing great when both of us were still Champion. I understand you don't want me to hold back. But this is your last warning, are you sure about this?"
Just why was Kitt doing this, anyways? He wasn't stupid, he knew he was more than likely outmatched at this point, especially considering everything up to this point! He didn't have anything to gain from this!
Unless..
"I... uh... um..."
There was literally no way for Kenny to answer that question properly. Every single word he tried to get out pretty much did come out as just a long string of 'um's and 'uh's. He couldn't win there. The Leomon guard had a point and no word, let alone sentence, in Kenny's mind could even hope to counter his without even looking like more of a buffoon than he already did.
At least for the next sentence, he could give a good answer to that, "...I guess you got a point there." He let out an awkward chuckle. Internally, he was still kicking himself for that previous statement. Like, for all he knew, Toki and Holly were effortlessly impressing Doku by wiping away the pages without breaking a sweat, and all he managed to pull off so far was making himself look like a complete dumbass.
At least he could find a way to take his mind off things; the Leomon guard's comment made Kenny fire a glance towards the battle, "That white Leomon over there's got quite the moxie, I gotta admit." He noted, "Kinda reminds me of when my partner there did the exact same thing; challenging an opponent way too strong for herself, yet actually managing to pull off the impossible and impress them with a show of skill."
He just let out a light chuckle as he watched, "Maybe some of that just rubbed off on Kitt."
Skadi blocks Kitt's Beast King Fist by summoning a Stonewall Barricade, potentially damaging Kitt if he doesn't back away at the last minute. After that, she awaits Kitt's next move.
Stonewall Barricade (RAM Upgrade): Skadi stomps the ground, sending up a surrounding circular wall full of giant spires with spikes lined on the front to protect her and up to 2 allies near her (within a 50 meter radius) for a post. This can withstand up to 3 Ultimate attacks (that's around 6 Champion level attacks) before breaking, while Rookie and below do no damage and 1 Mega attack is enough break the wall, but have their damage slashed in half. Anyone making physical contact with the wall suffers 20% damage of what their attack would’ve inflicted. (3 post cooldown)
Passives: Mountaineer (Passive): Markhormon possesses a tough and well-rugged body that has survived even the harshest of winters. This in turn reduces damage from all Ice attacks by 50% and physical attacks by 30%. However, she takes 50% more damage from fire attacks.
Toxic Immunity (Passive): Markhormon’s immune system naturally prevents Skadi from suffering poison/corrosion from any attacks/passives, or suffering any ill effects from them (damage, paralysis etc). Likewise, her foamy saliva, if swallowed, or in some cases, rubbed into an affected area of a poison victim, will automatically heal the Digimon of any poison/corrosion effects they may suffer… if they’re willing to use it at all, obviously. If used on an ally, then they have up to 2 poison/corrosion effects lifted from them, and Skadi goes through a 3 turn cooldown period, where she will be no longer immune to effects from poison/corrosion until it finishes. If Skadi digivolves to this form while poisoned/corroding, then she will automatically be cured in the same post.

As Kitt closed in with his Beast King, he was somewhat surprise to see Skadi counter it with a stone wall surrounded with spikes. Just as he expected for a Perfect-level Digimon: unflinching and radiating with deep strength. There was no conceivable way he could avoid the impending collision due to his forward momentum, all he could do was retract his fist back, and brace for impact.
The WhiteLeomon growled with pain as his shoulder collided with the sharp spikes, impaling him. He'd never experienced this kind of pain before; it hurt like crazy. But still, now was not the time to be reeling in pain. With all of his might, he pulled himself out from the two spikes, and retreated a couple spaces away from the Markhornmon.
Red data began to stream down from his wound. Kitt gritted his teeth, clutching his shoulder. He took a pretty nasty blow alright. Stuff like this is the reason why his disliked fighting. He turned his attention to Skadi, who gave him one chance to back out from this, before she started fighting for real.
He closed his eyes, thinking about it for a moment, before finally coming up with his answer. And what was it? He simply went into his fighting stance, twisting the handle of his katana, the combustible engine blade roaring to life. His amber-gold eyes gleamed looking at Skadi, waiting for her to make the first move.
That was his answer to her.
Combat Log:
To avoid his fist getting skewered by the spikes on Skadi's Stonewall Barricade, Kitt canceled his attack at the last minute, getting impaled on the shoulder as a result.
Kitt uses Fighter's Eye, his eyes shining as he didn't dare to look away from his opponent.
Fighter's Eye - Kitt focuses on only one opponent, gauging for any weak points, allowing his attacks to penetrate through shield and armors for three turns. Cooldown: Two turns.
Passive: Advanced Feline Senses - Kitt retains his superior senses of vision and hearing as a Spadamon, making him able to function in combat if either senses were compromised.
Cooldowns: Tranquil Slice: 4/4; ready for use. Fighter's Eye: 0/2; three turns until boost ends.
Exceed: Two fuel phials remain.

'Cute' was a matter of opinion. However, the Kuramon definitely were feral.
Case in point, though Holly held the interest of the 'pile' of Kuramon with her words, a slight curious look in their eyes, they didn't seem to understand what the cat was saying at all. She sounded nice and seemed gentle, but the fresh level Digimon were definitely wary -
FOOD!
The 'if'' part of Holly's statement wasn't really heeded at all: these six jumped right for the bag, potentially knocking the sweets and jerky out of her claws - and hearing the ruckus, it wouldn't be long before the rest of the horde would be right on that mess. Toki had it right: they were little more than simple virus programs, and their delight was shared with a small gesture.
Well, at the very least, the Kuramon seemed to decide that the food here was more palatable than the fragments of paper. Past that small horde, she'd see the abandoned scraps and a few in-tact pages left over, ripe for collection. Though, maybe Holly's supply of food wouldn't last quite as long as she wanted.
Doku, meanwhile, would let Toki confirm the safety of the wheelbarrow. It wouldn't take much to confirm that the vehicle didn't have any pages on itself, and it was also devoid of any other curses. Following that, the plant-type would flip the wheelbarrow back over and check the state of it.
"A bit odd that they'd leave something like this behind... hm. I can think of two possibilities." Doku mulled it over, checking to see if there was any identifying information on the cart. "One, someone deliberately slipped out here to lure the Kuramon into place. That is, they intentionally set bait, or maybe even left an empowered egg in the area. Or two..."
He bit his lip. "This is someone who came out here with the intent of cleaning up the debris - either as a legitimate worker or someone who just wanted to check for salvage - and while they were ripping the place up, one of the pages got to 'em." And the more he thought about it, the more that second possibility shook his core. "At the very least, this looks like it was at least borrowed from Rosewood. I don't like this - let's clean up these pages and move the fuck on." "Heh... quite alright, kid. Its easy to get to the point where ya think you know everything."
At the very least, this Leomon seemed to let it roll off his back. His eyes, at this point, were looking at the champion-level Leomon go up against a much stronger opponent, and struggling to catch up the difference. Indeed, he had moxie - but if the best he could do, maybe it would be best just to call the battle off.
In fact, the Leomon seemed to question the point of it. As the crowd looked on with baited breath, the lion gave a sigh. "A bit much for your partner to go up a level though, isn't it? If it goes on for much longer, the crowd's just going to pity the underdog..."

He listened to Doku's possible answers and thought about the possibilities. They couldn't rule out the worst case scenario "Either way, someone was here earlier and could be over in...Rosewood..." He had a terrible realization and immediately started to extend the data aura. "Holly, Doku, keep an eye out right now. If there isn't a single page in the area we need to rush to Rosewood immediately." He said.
He kept his eyes out for any odd signatures and kept his aura active "The Kuramon could have been distractions. Whoever was here last could have found a page, got marked, and started to gather up the remaining pages while leaving some for the Kuramon as some kind of bait to investigators. If they're in Rosewood, we need to clean up here and move fast." He said.
Toki's reasoning was that if someone was here before and got marked, they could have potentially left some pages behind for the Kuramon to eat, intentionally or not. That would throw anyone off and possibly make them assume the pages are all gone. However, the possibility remains that whoever was here was now in possession of the pages and could possibly be on the way to Rosewood.
Once all of the pages were gathered, if there were any and nothing went wrong, Toki would concentrate the aura around the pages before swiftly firing off a beam of energy to incinerate them in a flash. There was no time to waste here, so he was trying to be as efficient as possible. "This just keeps getting more and more convoluted. No wonder this was hard to spot until now. There were contingency plans for the contingency plans. Let's just hope Kenny, Skadi, and Kitt are all doing well. We'll have to rejoin them soon."

While the forward momentum made any sort of collision with the spiky stone wall inevitable, it was a smart move of Kitt to retract his attack when he still had the chance, lest he pierce his body upon it further. But the nasty gash left upon his shoulder made even the normally stalwart Skadi wince a little. More ammo to add onto why forcing herself to evolve to Perfect level on Kitt's request just wasn't a good idea, on both sides.
Skadi still looked at Kitt firmly. Even as he assumed another fighting stance towards and revved his katana once more, there was no sense of anger or disappointment on her face. But a sense of worry and resolve. It was clear that, despite the clear disadvantage the WhiteLeomon had, Kitt wasn't going to back down. And Skadi couldn't either. As much as she didn't want to hurt him too badly, she had to heed to his request.
"Very well." The Markhormon bowed her head, before giving a much louder, and much more powerful stomp towards the ground. Once again, the earth began to rumble intensely once more. The occupants in the arena would feel a slightly more powerful rumble and vibration in their seats, still not enough to hurt them, trip them up, or at the very least, violently toss them off their seats.
But Kitt? Well, the earthquake rumbled loudly and violently, threatening to toss him onto the ground once more. Until a giant spire underneath his feet, larger than the last, threatened to pierce his entire body and send him sky-high. Despite all this, the Markhormon's expression still did not change in the slightest, and her eyes kept upon him.
She reminded herself to make it up to him later.
In contrast to Skadi, Kenny found himself immediately looking away and covering his eyes with his hands as Kitt slammed into the wall, only daring himself to peek at the bleeding gash on the WhiteLeomon's shoulder. He groaned a little woozily at the gristly sight in front of him. Poor kid was starting to push himself a little too hard for his own good.
In fact, the Leomon guard had a good point; Kitt was pretty much the underdog here, now fighting an uphill battle he requested on his own volition. Kenny simply bit his lip before explaining, "I won't lie. Even Skadi seems a little reluctant to keep fighting now. I mean, she might win the battle, yes, but internally, when it comes to the circumstances concerning Kitt himself, I didn't think she could win with him.
I mean, if she accepted, she'd more than likely just walk all over him, but if she refused, Kitt still might accuse her of holding back on him. You remember what he said earlier, right? 'You have to come at me with everything you got. And I mean everything'." He shuffled his hands into his pockets and gave a worried sigh, glancing over to Kitt.
"...I think I'm gonna have to have a little talk with with him when we're done with the fight. He needs it."
Already, his mind was thinking on just what would he tell Kitt once the fight was over.
Skadi, realising Kitt won't back down, attacks him with Spiral Earthquake, aiming to trip him up once more with the earthquake, before piercing him with a powerful spire.
Spiral Earthquake: A even much more stronger version of Spiral Tremor, Skadi stomps the ground several times to cause a powerful tremor to summon up to 5 spires to attack the enemies (if there is one enemy, then this becomes one huge spire instead), reaching up to 20 meters per spire, or 50 meters for the super spire. While this attack lacks the defence piercing capabilities of Spiral Tremor, it makes up for it with sheer power alone, and a 150 meter radius that causes an earthquake, disorienting all grounded Digimon (allies and enemies) and leaving enemies open to attack.

Holly noted that their reaction to her words were probably not what she wanted to see. They were very much so feral, not understanding a lick of what she said. The curious looks in their eyes spoke to her and she was happy to see that she could at least hold their attention. The if part of her statement didn’t really seem to matter and the meicrackmon let the bags be knocked to the ground. With everyone sort of going nuts on the food the cat quickly went to the few intact pages. She’d carefully stuff them into a jar before sticking it into it’s own seperate space of her infinistorage. She wasn’t taking any chances.
The meicrackmon would take out those burgers that she had prepared before setting them down on the ground for the kuramon’s. Tit for tat. The scraps of paper would also b e given the same treatment as their full counterparts. Was a partial of the pages the same as a full page? Or did it lose all power? They didn’t know so this would be something for later.
Holly would go to rejoin the others; dusting off her hands and smiling quietly. She liked the kuramon’s but they had other things to take care of. If the kuramon’s ate the pages she figured that they likely would have processed the data in the pages and turned them into energy. Albeit not a lot of energy.
”Well got a few pages in jars so we can study them later. Having a way of detecting their kind in the cities would be a huge boon so… I definitely know someone I need to give these to so we can make that ‘if’ into a reality.”
Holly would blink a bit and look between the two before leaning to stare at the wheelbarrel. She’d quirk her head as her last clone came over, looking extremely bored.
”Some worker or someone from rosewood got got by one of the pages. So it’s likely they’re doing something dastardly if they know we’re here. Or this is just happenstance or something. I’m not entirely sure myself. Was kind of distracted by the swath of adorable over yonder.”
One gave a small shrug; sharing a bemused glance with holly whom had crossed her arms. She looked oddly thoughtful given that… Well usually she was a bright cluster of activity that just didn’t stop.
”...Dealing with that is going to be difficult. Given our reasoning for being out here entirely doesn’t line up with what we told the guard right?”

It was strange. Back then, Kitt would cowered in fear over the prospect of fighting. He was a pacifist by nature, not wanting to inflict harm on others, even if it was for training purposes. He couldn’t bear to accidentally hurt someone. Now, standing to face against the newly evolved Skadi, whom he was fighting on equal terms at first until he pressured her, the White Leomon quietly pondered on whether this decision was ultimately the right one as the Markhornmon can easily trample him and take the match for herself. In any case, it was too late to think about this now, as Skadi took the initiative, stomping on the ground once again, emitting a huge tremor inside the arena, making Kitt lose his balance yet again. This tremor was much more powerful than the one before, so much so that he couldn’t even stand up; he was a sitting duck. Knowing that this was the same attack she had used before, he stared at the ground, waiting for the cracks to appear to give him some time to get out of the way. Suddenly, in one moment, the ground caved underneath him. He put up his sword in front of him in a guard to prepare what's to come. The second, he felt agonizing pain as his entire body suffered multiple piercing blows as he was propelled into the sky. “AAAAAAARGH!” The Blue Queen spit in two as a result of him attempting to shield himself from the attack, slipping from his hands as he came crashing into the ground, creating a sizable crater. The scabbard landed a few feet away from him in a thud. The blade part of his sword fell a few feet away from him while the half part containing the hilt pieced the ground a few inches from his head. Kitt breathed weakly, his belly rising and falling on uneven and broken breaths. His bancho cape was torn asunder and part of his armor was broken off. He was bleeding from his nose and mouth. “Get...up…!” He grunted to himself. “You’re not done yet…” He tried to move his legs, his arms, his fingers—anything to force him to get up, but no response. Was this it? Was this the extent of his strength? Pretty pathetic. That's what he gets with challenging a stronger opponent. He weakly turns his head to half of his sword with the hilt, with tears developing in his eyes. “I guess I...really was the fourth wheel after all…” he weakly muttered. His vision started to blur as he caught a glimpse of his broken sword lighting up in a dull orange, before passing out.
… Kitt suddenly woke up in a white void, reverted back into his Spadamon form. He looked around, confused as to where he was. Was he dead? When he turned around he saw a feline Digimon adorn in armor similar to a Spadamon’s. He was staring at him. The Digimon was a bit shorter than him, with a furry face and spiky hair. He had a glare that was ‘cold.’ But at the same time, Kitt could feel a touch of ‘gentleness’ and ‘kindness’ in him, and for some reason... familiarity? After a moment of silence. The Digimon drew his blade at Kitt and opened his mouth. “Can you hear it, the cry of a soul?” He then added, “What’s yours saying?”Instead of answering, Kitt pushed the question back at him, “What’s yours saying?”The armored feline smiled a little and answered. “Strength ...strength to protect those dear to me. You too have those to protect, do you not?”“Yeah...I’ll take that strength too, then.” “Then rise, Kitt. Rise and take it, my s--”…
Immediately, Kitt’s consciousness recovered, he opened his eyes, and the horizon was dyed bright red in his vision. Slowly, yet steadily he picked himself up, using the broken hilt of Blue Queen to balance him. He didn’t know what happened, or who he saw. All he knew that his body was constantly pouring with power. He moaned as he managed to stand up, looking up to his opponent. He wasn’t going to let her win that easily. Toki, Holly, and Doku were all depending on them to protect the townsfolk from whatever that was going down inside in the city. If he were to give up now, they would all be at risk—all being possessed by those tags, and he was not gonna let that happen. “I can’t give up,” he began. "Not like this…Whenever my friends always needed me most, I’ve always been too weak or too scared to help them...because I was afraid of what I was capable of…”He then slowly started to walk towards Skadi, the power that he felt began to rise with each step he took. A grin appeared on his face. “I’ve always said that I hated fighting. But the truth is… I like really like the thrill of it."The White Leomon was suddenly swallowed in a soothing mauve light, Height wise, there wasn’t a drastic change, only growing about a few inches. But appearance wise, his body shifted into a particle mechanical appearance, with a thin plate of armor bolted around the important areas of his body. His mane became shorter but more spikier with bangs on both sides of his face. His two front fangs extended in size to protrude out of his mouth, slightly curving.Large bolts of data materialized on his wrists and lower legs, forming into turbines that spun. The two prices of his broken Blue Queen merged together, forming a huge broadsword that separated into two separate swords, but assimilating back together. The transformation complete, Kitt broke out the ball of white light like a charging bull, shattering it with a single punch. He gave a boisterous laughter. He evolved into his Ultimate form: GrapLeomon! Picking up his sword that was embedded on the ground, he spun it around a few times before pointing it directly towards Skadi, revving it up. He smiled. “You turned the key. My fiery will roars with excitement...It hungers to be set free!”This power...it symbolized his strength, his will, his soul, the very “beast” that was trying to break free. And he was gonna repay Skadi back for helping him reach this far ten-fold! Combat Log:Kitt tires to block what's to come from Skadi's Spiral Earthquake, but ends up taking serious damage, breaking his Blue Queen in two. Kitt digivolves into his GrapLeomon form for the first time, beckoning Skadi to come at him.Passive: Advanced Feline Senses - Kitt retains his superior senses of vision and hearing from his previous two forms, making him able to function in combat if either senses were compromised.

"Hm..."
Toki's moment of realization wasn't missed by Doku, obviously. This was either a diversion, or at the very least, a coincidence - the latter possibility noted by the MeiCrackmon. As Holly and Toki cleared out the last of the pages, the Kuramon well-distracted by that pile of food, the rookie level plant gave a nod.
"I don't think its going to be difficult at all, though." Doku looked over his shoulder at Holly. "We've already done two test runs, after all. If Toki can sense the pages, then maybe Toki can sense whoever is marked in the village. If we're wrong, the lie isn't broken, and if we're right, the village isn't going to care that we lied, so long as we solve the problem."
Though, maybe Doku was being too easy-going about this? He gave a tsk, and pointed northeast. "If we run, it should take about ten minutes for us to reach our mark. I suggest we do that instead of portal, so we don't give ourselves away, immediately." "Hm? Its like that, then?"
The Leomon blinked... and then gave a small laugh, shaking his head at the human. "If that's the case, then we got no reason to stop their scrap at all. If that 'runt' is this intent, there's going to be a reason for it..."
But, what reason? That large spike of earth almost threatened to split Kitt in twain, and as he crashed into the ground, the crowd looked on with a gasp. For better or worse, they had managed to entice and 'entertain' the group around them...
... But the show was only getting started. The white lion vanished in a flash of light, but the Leomon guard of the village didn't even flinch, as Kitt's stronger form finally took the stage. He gave a grin, and a thumbs-up towards the fight.
And now, the crowd was fully invested - and completely on Kitt, the 'underdog's' side. That said, well, maybe it left the rest of the village too unguarded.

Once everything was settled at the outpost, Toki let out a sigh of relief "I have an idea how to better use the data to track what we need to find. Instead of expanding it over a large area I'll just use it as a divining rod of sorts. Keep it concentrated around my hands and see where the data shifts and follow it in response. That will keep far away pages from activating and hopefully keep our potential target from realizing our location." He said.
With their next goal in mind, it was time to check on Rosewood at last. There was a sudden energy spike coming from that direction as Toki looked in that direction "Something's going on...the fight must be getting pretty heated. They've been trying to hold the city's attention for a while, so let's get there fast before they exhaust themselves. We might need all the help we can get depending on what happens from here on out."
Toki smiled softly at Doku's suggestion "Ten minutes, you say? I'll take that as a challenge." He said as he twirled in the air slightly, going from a meditative stance to fully 'standing' but still floating. "This is for Rosewood, so let's give it all we got. Let's move!" He said as in a sudden burst of speed, he flew on ahead. He gracefully floated around the trees and navigated the woods towards Rosewood with calm precision. He looked back for a moment to make sure the others would be following before he continued his flight. He held his palms out, generating the energy signature once again and feeling for any disturbances. If there were any, he would be determined to find them. They were so close to ending this. He would not allow this to ruin all of the progress made in such a peaceful town. It could not happen.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on May 9, 2020 7:32:38 GMT
There was a nugget of truth to be found in the Leomon guard's words, at least to Kenny. But still, a feeling of worry continued to loom over the young man as the one-sided fight raged on. At least when Skadi and Ophelia fought Valt as part of a practice spar, the Champion-Perfect power difference between forms was at least balanced out by the fact that it was essentially 2 vs 1, and the two girls were more than willing to work together to at least knock down Valt.
Kitt had no such luxury.
The tamer bit the corners of his lip in worry, already having his free hand gravitate towards his cards, just in case things went too south for Kitt, his other hand working typing out a message to Holly and Toki, ready to send, just in case. Surely he had to have something on hand as a little pick-me-up just to prevent the brave but foolhardy kid from being outright mauled by mistake, right?
...right?
But then the next few moments happened. And realising things had pretty much gone to Hell, Kenny, feeling his heart pound like crazy, practically hammered his D-Nexus with his finger frantically. Wherever Toki and Holly were, whatever device(s) they used to get to Tamernet, they both would receive a ping, and a private message.
DrMothman: holy shit guys kitt is seriously hurt plz come back as soon as you can skadi's panicin
This would then be followed by a picture of Kitt... or at least, what looked to be Kitt
Truth be told, Skadi wasn't aiming to maim, or, God forbid, kill Kitt here with this attack. But from the look of things, she couldn't even take in the satisfaction that the monster spire struck true this time around. In fact, the poor WhiteLeomon's pained cry was more than enough for her to make her stomach churn overtime, averting her eyes and covering them with her arms to avoid looking at what could only be charitably described as absolute carnage upon the poor kid.
Only a few moments after Kitt slammed into the ground would Skadi look back up. And the churning just intensified.
"Oh God I'm sorry Kitt!" She cried out in panic, planting the business end of the sword into the ground and reaching out a hand, "I'm sorry! Please, get up Kitt! Get up! I'm begging you! Get up! Kitt!" Her painting started to grow heavy and faster, and she quickly turned over to her partner, "Kenny! You gotta help him! Please!" Her limbs could be seen trembling in fear. What would Valt say? What would Hikaru say? He asked for this! She didn't mean to go that far or hit him that hard!
"I- I'm on it, Skadi!" Kenny called back. But already he was shuffling through his cards, just to find something, anything to at least give Kitt a decent pick-me-up. But so far, his search was all but fruitful. Nothing looked like they could heal Kitt, or at least, give him a bit of a boost to pick him up back on his feet. In the midis of the scrambling, he spotted a certain Gold card poking out from the rest; Final Prayer.
Perfect.
"Hold on, Kitt! Let me just swipe this card through the D-Nexus and-" Before his card could even touch the scanner, the sight of Kitt, somehow managing to pull himself up, despite the large amount of sheer punishment in a short amount of time, was enough to make him freeze up in place, his jaw wide open. His focus was quick to latch itself onto him. He didn't dare interrupt him; he just quietly slid the card back into the deck and put it away. And neither did Skadi, who just watched him crawl forwards towards her, eyes wide and mouth agape.
Not even the normally-blinding light coating Kitt was enough to detract their attention away from him. They knew what it meant. Skadi said nothing, she just reached out for her sword once more, grabbing onto the hilt and pulling it out of the earth. But a small smile could be seen upon her face, complimenting a more determined look in her eyes. Kenny's jaw still hung out in pure awe, however. And as Kitt literally smashed the ball of light into bite-sized pieces, revealing his mighty, amplified GrapLeomon form hidden underneath, without even thinking, Kenny started to clap a little enthusiastically.
Kitt didn't even need to throw in a sweet one-liner into the mix. His emergence was already impressive enough as it was.
But Skadi? Oh sure, she was impressed, if that look on her face told Kitt (or anybody else) anything. But she wasn't exactly going to tell him that directly. At least, not right away. Instead, the Markhormon's small smile grew into a wide grin as she drew her sword back, a light tint of a blueish aura and frost coating the the business end of the blade, before swinging it towards Kitt's direction horizontally, a wide blade of wind and frost hurtling towards him at high speed, all set to blow him off his feet, metaphorically and literally.
Now she was willing to hit him with everything she got.
Either Kitt was one of the greatest madlads to set foot on God's green Earth, or he forgot to take the happy pills this morning, and that somehow spiralled into a chain of events that even God, Buddha and Arceus would struggle to try and comprehend properly
That was the only explanation Kenny could rationalise concerning why Kitt did what he did just to push himself to reach Perfect. Maybe. He wasn't psychic. He couldn't read Kitt's mind. But he didn't care. He still kept applauding enthusiastically. At least until he remembered something.
Oh right.
As far as Toki, Holly, and Doku knew, Kitt was knocking at death's door.
He had to fix that.
Turning the camera towards Kitt on his D-Nexus, Kenny went on a frantic snapping spree, trying to track down Kitt as much as he could, taking countless photos of the GrapLeomon as he possibly could. Of course, with a wind blade about as wide as a school bus' side hurtling towards him, it'd be at least be reasonable that Kitt would do something to counter it in some way, shape or form, but it also didn't help Kenny's arms were shaking like crazy as he took photo after photo after photo.
His wobbly arms could at least send out a quick message over to Toki and Holly once more.
DrMothman: guys holy shit kitt evolved look
That was quickly followed by a picture of a giant smeared orange and silver humanshape figure that looked like a GrapLeomon if you squinted hard enough. Followed by another similar looking picture of the same giant smeared orange and silver humanshape figure that looked like a GrapLeomon if you squinted hard enough.
And another.
And another.
And another.
And another.
And another.
And another.
And another.
And another.
And- well, at this point, it was fair to say that at the rate where this was going, it would be nothing short of a damn miracle if their D-Terminals didn't just up and suddenly combust and die from the flood of the very slightly different looking pictures of the same giant smeared orange and silver humanshape figure that looked like a GrapLeomon if you squinted hard enough.
When would they know when the sudden flood of smears would suddenly grind to a halt?
DrMothman: sorry
Skadi, now proud of Kitt's resolve (and subsequent evolution), fires a Blizzard Calling at his direction, threatening to blow him away with a sharp, cold blade of wind.
Blizzard Calling: Skadi’s sword is surrounded by a faint icy aura, before she swings it at a wide angle, summoning a powerful blast of icy wind for up to 50 meters, that cuts into and blasts back up to three opponents at once. Flying Digimon also take 20% more damage when hit, and can be forced onto the ground. While the wind blade is powerful enough on it’s own, due to the fact she’s swinging a heavy object, the sword still hurt if you make contact with it directly, great for driving back opponents that are too close to her.

With the adrenaline of his new form flowing through his core, it was hard for Kitt to keep a serious and, for a lack of a better term, “professional” demeanor compared to his previous form. The audience cheered at his bombastic appearance that he couldn’t help but smile ear to ear, hopping from one foot to the next. Even Kenny and Skadi were extremely impressed. He couldn't help but put his fist into the air, feeding off all the attention-, something that he would avoid at best as he could as a Spadmon. This power...this power was so alluring that he was trembling with excitement. He wanted to keep fighting. Not just for the audience sake, but for him to test out his newly acquired form. With the audience on his side, Kitt erupted into a boisterous laughter. “HAHAHAHA! At last, our long-awaited dance anew! Here’s to a fair fight, my friend!” he said to Skadi. Still, despite his bombastic personality, he still kept his eyes on her great sword, now tinted with ice. From the looks of it, it was carved from a spine—a big Digimon’s spire, made out of Chrome Digizoid. Impressive. She swung horizontally, sending out a blast of icy wind. He put his mechanical broadsword up, bracing himself from the cold blast. The wind slashed straightforward, and while some slipped through his guard damaging him, Kitt held his ground, not wanting to be blown away. After the icy winds died down, the GrapLeomon slung his broadsword over his shoulder, charged at Skadi and began his retaliation. “With all the miles on the clock…” The turbines on his limbs began to spin rapidly, and he would retaliate with a furious uppercut that would launch Skadi into the air if she was unable to properly counter. If not, he would jump to the air to her, following up with a swift kick, then ending it with a fiery slash from his sword. “I’m just as fast as I ever was!” Combat Log: Kitt goes into guard mode to defend himself against Skadi's Blizzard Calling, but still takes damage from the sharp cold blast.
Kitt retaliates against Skadi with an Exceed-powered Storm Gear.
Storm Gear - Utilizing his turbines, Kitt attacks with a furious uppercut and kick, then finishes off with a slash from his sword/s. Exceed effect: The slash from the sword/s is coated with blue flames, dealing additional fire damage. [ No cooldown/ 1 with Exceed] Consumes 1 fuel phial.
[RAM Upgrade] Exceed - By twisting the grip as if revving a motorcycle engine , Kitt can cause it to spray a flammable liquid over the blade, increasing the range and inflicting damage of its attack. It can carry up to five fuel phials in total, so this amp-up state is limited. Depending on the ability, each attack consumes one fuel phial at a time.If all five fuel phials are expended, the engine blade will overheat, and he'll have to wait awhile until he can use this ability again. Cooldown: three posts.
Passive:
Advanced Feline Senses - Kitt retains his superior senses of vision and hearing from his previous two forms, making him able to function in combat if either senses were compromised.
Cooldowns: Storm Gear: 0/1
Exceed: One fuel phial remands.

Holly mulled over the information in front of her and simply nodded when doku addressed the fact he didn’t think it’d be hard. If the aura worked like this and the pages responded like how they had. It’d be easy to find them. She just hoped that if any marked existed in rosewood that they wouldn’t react immediately or if they did that they’d react in a way that didn’t threaten the townsfolk.
”I hope you’re right there. I’m just worried some people might grow to distrust visitors because of lying.”
Holly shrugged and shifted, stretching a bit. A run? Yes. That could work easily. She’d glance at one who was of the same mind; though they started with stretching their calves for some reason. One gave holly a shrug much like her own before cracking their back.
”I think we’re all worrying needlessly. We have the tools and the knowledge of what we need to do. If toki thinks he can do this and then keep pages like that from activating well…”
Holly turned her head as she felt that signal and couldn’t help but frown. Was the fight really going that crazy? She could feel her tamernet app on her pad start buzzing but she really didn’t have time to check it at the moment. She’d take a moment to prepare herself before running after toki; one being close on her heels. If doku wanted the clone would probably be able to carry him too…
They were at the end of it now right?
Or maybe there was more to it that they weren’t seeing and they all had erred somewhere. Either way they would deal with it as they could and when they could!

"Tch... my main concern is that whoever the 'marked' is, caught on and left Rosewood already. Its not as if the two who went there really went with an intent to investigate."
Case in point? Even without a D-Terminal, Doku could feel Skadi and Kitt's fight, all the way out here - and that was without any enhanced ability to sense energy like Toki! The Aruraumon would give a nod, and tag right along with Holly's clone, hanging right off of her back.
In the best case, they sniffed out the marked target immediately. In the second-worst case, there was nothing to be found. In the very worst, well...
... Let's hope it didn't come to that. Even if it left the village distracted, there was no denying that both Kitt and Skadi did a very good job keeping the attention of the crowd! Granted, this fight was probably going to require some clean-up, but sometimes scraps between Digimon just ended up this heavy! The Leomon guard gave a grin, and a hearty pat on the clearly-proud tamer's back, before he would step back out into the city.
Ten minutes was definitely a rough estimate - it would take closer to two or three before Toki and Holly would manage to get back to the front gate, and see the Angemon standing guard outside. The angel gave a nod, ready to greet them - but clearly detected something was off.
Why were the two of them in such a hurry?
"Hm? Have we dug up a little more than we wanted to handle?" The angel gave a glance over his shoulder. "The show is going well, though a bit over the top, I would say-"
"Just can it for now - its best for us if they're all distracted with that anyway." Doku took a step inside the town. "Anything seem off around here?"
"Not that I would notice - I'm not really a guard around these parts, though come to think of it, I'm surprised that this restriction hasn't caused any incident. No-one's tried to leave."
"... Too clean?" Doku questioned that, out loud. With where they were now?
Well, they had a village full of suspects - and not much to go on. Frustrating position, yes, but there were a few solid options to go on from here!
