Through twists and bends of the junk styled village, through the maze of trashed forgotten items, to be valued as treasures for others. Within the jungle of signs, wires, destroyed builds only stacked together to form new homes of their unfortunate ruin; while traversing this junkyard home an alley carried bright lanterns. The lanterns had these solid arrow signs hung below them, the only identifying piece of art was a single candle. The dangling lights carried on through the pathways, easily able to follow each lantern as they were carefully placed at every turn or crosswalk.
The unstructured pathways of the village make the adventures of following these lanterns quite tedious, though getting closer to the destination did walk ways become easier. Smooth grounds, clear walkways, even seeing how small items, objects and debris was cleared by someone with the intent to make it easier to find. Once following the lanterns enough a small clearing would be open between cramped spaces, then in its full proud visage stood this building.
With a large sign placed on the entrance, this solid board wasn’t even fastened to the building itself only leaning against it. The words ‘ Lucerna Lux ‘ written across the board, proudly displaying its name on such a simple piece of decor. Lucerna Lux looked like it fought for where it stands, squished between everything: walls, awnings, balconies, overhead wires and even the damaged street lamps looming well beyond the middle of the walkway.
The store had a open front, a single support beam with doors removed, with a solid wooden beam lining the top of the doorways. The noren display that it was open, these tattered clothes still showed various food products embroidered with stylized imagery to them. The sounds of something sizzling inside, various spices drifting out into the street mixing with the cold air, only making the inviting scent of food feel so welcoming.
While the sounds of food prep and cooking, the small bistro had one Digimon at its counter; the sight of muted colors mixed with the blur of their hands serving the food out. Hearing the few exchanged words as there must have been others inside the bistro already. Seeing the commotion inside the bistro made the outside seem bleak, even among all these built homes, warm soft light spilling out from the double door way subtly called for new customers.

Fragment village.
Holly had only ever been there once and it was to meet individuals for a mission that eventually led to her fighting against a sovereign of all things. She had barely spent any time in the village and she felt bad about it. She felt the hurt of the people there and the desires to live and let live. Sure it was a nasty place to some that didn’t belong but to someone like her? That only wished the best to people?
She was likely a hard sell to the ones there; but after some of her healing touch and gentle suggestions on how to treat this or that she was well received. Perhaps they needed a nurse or doctor more than they realized. Or perhaps one that was willing to go out and be there… rather than cooped up in some place. But it was tiring spending all day healing and chatting. She just wanted to unwind.
So there was this diner they told her about; run by some mon she had never heard of. So she felt like she needed to go there, needed to go through those twists and bends. Through the junk and suffering; through the forgotten items and jungles. But at the end well…
At the end of those single candles and those crosswalks that were so well lit she’d eventually get there. She’d look around and was rather impressed at what she saw. A large sign garnered her attention.
Lucerna Lux
It was a strange name, one that likely held meaning to the one that owned it. She’d step forward and looked inside. Noting that there wasn’t a door and there seemed to be… sizzling? Oh! Someone was cooking! She’d sniff at the air and feel her stomach rumble. She was hungry as she had spent a lot of time cooking! ...Wait no she spent a lot of time healing. What she was hearing was cooking…
Holly shook her head and approached, peaking inside of the bistro to look about for a moment before actually entering. It was homely and well… it felt nice to look at. It was a place full of hope and in the middle of all of this? It felt like it belonged here. It warmed her heart a little bit to see something like this in such a dreary place.
”Uhm… Hello? Is this place open?”

Basking in the bistro’s soothing light, the edges along the counter top glinted with a pristine cleanliness. From one end to the other, this serving table was passionately taken care of, even with the items inside the bistro every centimeter of the store was thoughtfully cared about. Looking though the doorway alone, seeing everything up close somehow gave this at home feeling but was obviously very cramped on the inside if there were to be more than four customers at anytime. Despite its closed off odd placement in the village, once someone has stepped inside it, the whole aesthetic of Lucerna Lux didn’t feel it belonged in Fragment Village, besides how it was made.
Agress running the bistro on their own, watching as the newly arrived Digimon only peaking their head past the door too look around. Their words reaching his ears made Agress stare directly at the new customer, even with the mask donned over his face, an intense scowl could be felt just from the presence of the directional glare. Agress raised a single hand, pointing at the cloth hanging from the top of the doorway, the noren as a harsh tone came from him.
“The noren tells you I am open.” the voice was clear and smooth but the speaking pitch from him was clearly frustrated. His shoulders slouch, arms and chest tensing up as he stepped closer towards the front of the serving counter, having a slender posture but his claw like hands raised up and pointed down towards an open seat. “If it says I am open, I am. Now please, sit. “
Agress took the moment to keep the blank expression mask trained on Holly, feeling the stern body posture, his rigid presence easing as he bowed his head slightly. “Agress is my name, todays special dish is Kitsune Udon served with kelp. I will add if there is something not on the regular menu, you may bring me the materials and I will happily make it for you. Free of charge.”
Taking a moment to raise with head from the bow, his hand still pointing towards the free seat only to take his lingering gesture away as he heads back inside the kitchen. Behind the serving counter all customers could see directly into the small kitchen, the Digimon slender frame fit easily but his unusual height had his ears dragging the tips across the ceiling.
Mixture of sounds filling the kitchen as he was preparing other dishes on the side but what caused that loud sizzling was fixing a pair of aburaage and udon noodles to be mixed with it. The smells of a dashi broth filling the close proximity of the kitchen, having this nice ocean of scents lingering through out bistro.

Holly blinked at seeing the individual in front of her, the strange mask was new to her. In fact she only knew one mon that had a mask that was anything similar but they were a large animalistic weasel that was a gentle soul. This mon was some strange wolf that reminded her a lot of how a renamon was save… Well. There wasn’t that softness to their voice and they were fairly more aggressive than she was used to. She’d turn her head to look up at the piece of cloth.
So that’s what that was? She… well she didn’t know that actually. She nodded her head as if understanding and then quickly took a seat in the chair the owner pointed to. He’d quickly explain what was on the menu as well as what his name was. Or rather what the special was for today!
”A pleasure Agress. My name is holly. I’d love to have some of that udon. Never have had Kelp before either... ”
She’d watch the other mon curiously; he was unlike anything she had seen before. Sure beast types at higher levels came with clothing or with attachments but from what she could tell this mon was a rookie! She had to wonder if he had higher forms or what they would even look like. What was someone like him doing in the fragment village in the first place? She had a ton of questions and would gently swing her legs back and forth while sitting on the stool.
”The few people I talked to told me about this place; I’ve never quite been somewhere like here. Well. Not in the digital world at least. Human world has something like this but not.. Like like this. They always felt so forced. But this…?”
The meicrackmon leaned on the counter and looked around, this felt like a home. This place may have been put together piece by piece but it was a place you could go to and live in and work in. It was somewhere someone felt at ease. She liked that. It was very nice of this agress fellow to do something like this.
”Feels like a home.”

The walls to the bistro were frayed, fringing at the countless attempts of repair. Nothing was truly damaged only aged; carrying stories from previous bumps and scrapes, even showing signs of the occasional brawl as hinted in the walls. The lack of proper tools left patch up jobs to carry scars though this heartfelt building. On the west side wall, with a burn etched board nailed into the corner with the words The Wall. Hung up underneath this board were photos of Agress and other Digimon, based they were all taken within the bistro’s walls it was clear they were customers.
Across the length of the shop, their was a pair of Impmon’s sitting unnaturally close, both of them tossing glances towards Holly, though it was short lived before they returned watching the cooking process. Agress made sure one of his ears remained pointed towards the serving counter, attentively listening while he made the meals, letting part of his mind focus on what Holly had to say.
That same harsh tone slipped from him as he looked towards the Meicrackmon, a scoff bellowed from him, giving a short laugh. “This, feels like a home?” His tone grew sharp while keeping that expressionless mask trained on Holly. “What a dumb thing to say. It has the feeling of home because I share my heart here. No place will feel your home, the home is a sense of belonging. No matter your wretched type or family rite will do anything here, everyone. All Digimon who step into my shop... They belong. “
Agress voice broke, that harsh tone slipping into a mellow casual voice, even visibly seeing his shoulders drift down, partially going limp. Raising a hand up a single claw like finger traced across the seashell necklace he carried before directing his focus back to the food. He cleared his throat in attempt distract himself before preparing the next batch of tofu for Holly. Taking out the finished meal, he set two smaller dishes in front of the Impmon pair, his walk halting, looking Holly up and down for a moment before stepping into his kitchen.
The sounds of items being cleaned and placed out to begin prep for Holly’s meal his voice chimed out from the kitchen. “I.. know my stance on what a home should be but I should not spill my vile words to the human world. I have only heard tales spoken by some of my customers.” his words finished with that same harsh direct tone.
Holly got to watch as Agress grabbed a pile of material: dried kelp, dried bonito flakes, mirin, brown sugar, a light-colored soy sauce, salt and with a mix of scallions. Slowly the process began with adding the aburaage and letting it boil all while mixing the other liquids with the sugar in another bowl.
“Now, tell me why a Digimon like you is doing way out here? Holly, this seems beyond your kind.”

Everything here was something she enjoyed, everything here was something that she loved. She loved the location, she loved how it was put together. The roughness of the one behind it wasn’t lost on her. The random mons here and the little board made her sigh softly. She wondered how that would be, coming here enough to get a picture. She’d flick her ears and glance at the impmons… She’d smile calmly at them and give them a small nod.
”Well… yeah. It does feel like a home. Well to me at least. Uhm. yeah that’s fair though.”
Holly stuttered a little bit and watched the other. She wasn’t sure what to say to that; she couldn’t get rid of that feeling. That thought and that want. She always wanted a place to feel like home. After the library… well. She wasn’t sure.
She’d think about what the other said. She’d hum a bit and looked down at her hands. Wondering to herself quietly. His stance on the human world was… one that she wasn’t sure how to address so she’d nod her head. She took some time to watch him; leaning forward and mulling over some things.
”Well. It’s a nice enough place. Kinda weird smelling.”
She’d shrug her shoulders; not much to add on the human world at least. She didn’t really have much to say about it. She had only been there once and it felt like she would only ever go there that once. When asked about why she was all the way out here she’d hum a bit. How deep to go in an explanation…?
”Well. I’m currently going to school for being a doctor and the dark area is one of the zones that often more than not has issues. The D-reaper, the demonlords, some spires even. So people here suffer a lot and… Well that’s not okay. So I came out here to research the various ‘issues’ starting with the D-reaper since they’re the most volatile. I won’t be going directly into nests but I’ll be seeing what sort of things happen to patients around here and see if anyone needs treatment.”
Holly spun around on her stool and mused to herself about all of this. It was a strange decision but it was a compounded one. Her eyes watched the other cook and she seemed curious about it all. Even going so far to lean so she could see it better. She cursed the fact she couldn’t use ultimate in the cities that she wasn’t well known in… due to the safety of her own hide.
”So I guess in short. I’m here to learn so I can help people!”
She’d brightly beam and a grin would split her face. She’s always wanted to help people; before when she was an assassin it was to help people no longer have to deal with horrid people and now as a med student she was learning better ways of doing that!

A hush quiet filled the kitchen as Agress was waiting for water to boil out, his ears focusing towards Holly. Giving out his agitated response to the human world, even with how ignorant it sounded without having any experience with them. The mask shifted only slightly as his head turned to glance as Holly moved around, leaning or looking down towards her hands. Agress noticed this gesture specifically, mentally recalling the time it took to mention that it feels of home compared to starting the next verbal response.
The idea of the human world smelling funny had Agress cover the front of his snout with his forearm and softly laugh. The blank expression of the mask centered directly to Holly, though his body gesture was different, his shoulders were relaxed in hearing Holly talk. Though Agress’s head perked up as Holly began talking about how she was a doctor, a skilled and studied profession being followed with D-reapers and demonlords.
Agress took this moment to look down at his food he was making for Holly, setting up another pot, water, ingredients and all. Afterwards he peered out of the kitchen from the space behind the serving counter. Catching that gleaming grin, he knew his idea would be welcomed so he started to step out form the kitchen entirely. Stepping slowly, his mask trained on Holly as if stalking through the bistro.
“That is all? You wish to help, to heal?” His words lingered in he air as silence fell to the bistro. Agress walking out from the kitchen through the main down, keeping a haunting watch at Holly’s position. Walking around the counter entirely, looking down at where Holly was sitting and raising a hand towards her.
“Sometimes wounds can not be healed, though you wish to learn? Then come.” Agress reached out and dragged his claw like fingers across Holly’s hand.
Taking it firmly before leading her back towards his kitchen, heading past the side door of the eating area into the steel coated kitchen. Nothing was dirty only showing signs of use, burns or scratches but nothing showing signs of neglect. He released her hand once entering the kitchen, ingredients laid out beside the stove he was using and everything measured before leading her back here.
“Learn. Handmade warm meals can heal where some applications cant reach.” Agress nodded for a moment before he reached for another aburaage and gently placing it on the other side of the stove. “ You can decline my offer, if you do not feel up for the challenge.”

Holly tilted her head slightly as the other seemed to think about what she said. Or at the very least was paying attention to what she had covered. It was kinda nice; she didn’t always feel like people listened to her or even understood her. She’d flick her ears a little bit and find herself blushing at the other’s laughter.
”well it is! It smelled like smoke and a lot of strange rocks! And a lot of stuff that just burned the nose!”
She’d shake her head a little bit and she’d note that he perked up when she talked about how she wanted to be a doctor. If she could she’d do everything she could with people and for the people around this area. Heck for the whole digital world given her chosen profession. Her head quirked to one side as he asked that question and she’d nod. Looking up at him as he approached.
”Well yes; My ma did it in her way so I’ll do it in my own way. She fought for the people and soothed their worries. So I’ll heal people and calm their nerves!”
She’d perk as he spoke about how wounds sometimes couldn’t be healed and how she wanted to learn? She wouldn’t resist and would let herself be led back towards the kitchen. This place was well kept and this kitchen made her feel like there was a lot of care here. A lot of stuff that just took time…
”Oh wow…”
She’d look around and her ears flicked towards Agress. Learn how to make food to heal people in a different way? She’d tilt her head a little bit and then giggle softly as the other seemed to think that she wouldn’t accept!
”My ma taught me a little about cooking but I don’t think it’ll hurt to learn!”
The mon leaned to look around and wondered what she should do or how she should go about what he wanted her to cook. Or rather what she would be making. She didn’t have a clue honestly.
”So what am I making Mr. Agress? The special for today?”

“Oh no, do not call me Mr. Agress, Agress alone is fine! Though you are correct Holly, if your ma did teach you some cooking lets see you apply that knowledge here. To make my Kitsune udon, we will need to make your sauce mixture first, so add the sugar, mirin, water and a small bit of soy sauce into a bowl.” He gave instructions in a bold voice, clear and direct not to talk down towards Holly but feel the presence he has given orders back here before.
Agress gestured towards the other half of the prep table, with the kitchen the size it was there was only a few centimeters between the two of them. While he explained how to mix it into the bowl so the ingredients disperse easily instead of clumping by steadily whisking as its poured in. Though once it creatures this nice smooth dark colored sauce he instructs to put it aside.
“The next step is simple, for convenience we will be placing the aburagge I made earlier inside a pan. These are little pieces of tofu which we will need to boil twice.” He knows this doesn’t take much to do, so he only gestures to the water he measured out before hand for Holly. Letting them both pour in the water and setting it to boil, though while waiting he looked over the stove with a prideful nod.
“You have been good in answering my questions, not even questioning my answers. It would only be fair to mention somethings about myself.” Agress paused for a moment, able to feel the amount of reluctant stress building behind him. Though only a soft breath was taken as he collected himself and faced Holly directly as the water beside them bubbles not quite ready yet.
“This wasn’t always my home, I barely know the names of any place I have traveled. I didn’t know them, I still don’t but I use to travel across this wide open plains. I also took home in this, underground? My only distinct memory is a city with these impressive walls when I left the underground, or I think it was the underground.” Agress says, without even noticing it himself a hand raised to gently trace across the seashell necklace.
“ I had a traveling companion, her name was Eden. Down here in this dark, did you have one Holly? Well, anywhere really did you ever have a companion?” Agress asked this question while gesturing to the pans, without even needing to explain it was easy to follow what Agress was doing. Taking the aburaage out with a spatula and gently pressing the water out, then filling the pan with the sauce mixture.
While Agress and Holly remained in he kitchen, the pair of Impmon both gave a silent laugh, still eating at a slow pace but were enjoying the cooking show the pair gave.

”Oh sorry Mr. Agress it won’t happen again!”
The meicrackmon laughed and gave the other a cheerful smile. She indeed was being a bit playful with that; if anything she’d stop after that time. She’d tilt her head slightly as he explained how to make the Udon. Sauce mix first… Sugar, Mirin, water and a bit of soy? That was easy enough! She’d shift and lean, there wasn’t going to be a huge amount of room between the two mons here, so of course she’d move, bump into the other and apologize for it all the same.
”Huh. Easy easy! Though I’m not sure the measurements for each…”
The meicrackmon flicked her ears and followed along as he explained. Leaning and flicking her ears as she was shown what to do. The water measurements and other little nuances of this recipe. She’d hum to herself and take mental notes. Even without jade or her clones she understood what was going on here.
”Well to be fair Agress I didn’t want to push too much. We did just meet! Some people are a little wary of answering too many questions. Especially to someone they barely know! But I’m not like that at all haha!”
The meicrackmon snickered a bit and shook her head, she’d look to the other as he explained about how this wasn’t always his home. She’d be surprised if that was the case as she felt she would have heard of him before now if it was! The meicrackmon rubbed at her chin thoughtfully and nodded her head.
”A lot of bigger cities have big walls. Though that rules out luminas cause it’s a flying city.”
She’d pause however as he explained that he had a traveling companion. A person by the name of eden. She’d lean and watch him as he was doing his motions, making that sauce and explaining without explaining.
”Well not in the same variety as others. I made an AI that works with me. Her name is jade! But past that not really. Used to hang out with friends but… We eventually went off and went our seperate ways!”
The meicrackmon nodded; she likely missed the reasoning of the question but that didn’t stop her smile, or how her tail flicked to n fro. She’d lean to watch the other curiously and flicked her ears forward.
”Do you make this udon often Agress?”

“I use to yes, I made this dish for a very special individual. I actually made this for my old companion Eden, this is my gift to her. In cold nights I would make this dish to warm our hearts.” He said this with almost a sad sigh slip from under his mask. Though as he responded with this, Agress gestured to Holly’s pan pointing it started boiling. Without a word he was placing the aburaage back into the pan now with the bubbling sauce mixture.
One hand stirring the aburagge around in a very gentle motion to hear the sizzling sauce slowly thicken and evaporate giving the aburaage a nice golden brown coating. Making sure Holly was following with his steps, though also wanting to make sure if she was attentive enough to follow it without verbal commands.
“ As for asking questions Sunflower, the kitchen is a place of heat, smells, passion and focus. Inside a kitchen, one where I have tried my best. It is not a place where the result is judged by its process but by its heart.” Agress gestures to each of their pans, as long as Holly could follow his simple gentle sways of his spatula through the sauce. The aburaage was this glistening golden brown, searing the outside in its contents while the spacing between the sears show its golden colors.
“ I want my kitchen to be wear others come to learn, to bond. So ask away, you are here in my kitchen because I believe there is something you could learn.” For a brief moment, his cheeks shifted, as the mask shows it didnt perfectly cover his face! His cheeks curved just enough to tease the faintest hint of a smile from Agress.
“Who knows, maybe I could learn something from you.” Agress said this with the hint of a snicker, actually attempting a playful nudge but it was hesitant and clearly awkward for him.
“Now, normally I would use dried kelp squares but as this is your first time. We will be using the ones I saved for my dinner.” Turning himself around, he reached to sealed cabinet and pulled out a container of water with these large sheets of kelp that were soaking in the water.
Agress, measured out the two and half cups for each of them, taking his time to gesture to the liquid. Pulling out two saucepans from the side rack to the right of his stove, he handed one to Holly. Beginning to slowly pour in the kelp water into the saucepan, adjusting the heat to a medium flame before turning back to her.
Finishing up with the aburaage, even explaining that you want to simmer in the sauce till almost all of it has been soaked up or evaporated. “Now this is where it gets a bit more complicated, you ready for the challenge? I will only be doing, no verbal instructions you have been doing good so far.. Lets see you keep up this momentum.”
All the while this happened the pair of Impmon have finished their meals but they just laughed to each other, clearly Agress had his attention taken by this Holly. They wanted to see how this was resolved, enjoying the pseudo display of skills.

”Aw that’s sweet! I bet the two of you really enjoyed it too!”
The meicrackmon brightly smiled and noted the sadness of the other. Something must have happened to eden or perhaps she had left on worse terms than they met? Or perhaps there was something she just wasn’t understanding. She’d perk up and moved to look at the pan, leaning to look around the wolf so that she could understand what he was doing. The slow and gentle motions of the wolf was rather mesmerizing. She was following along on her own, following his motions.
She was almost like a mimic, all the way down to a T. However that went all to hell when he called her sunflower of all things. She felt her face turn a bright red and she’d open her mouth. Find nothing coming out, closing it and then open it again. Her face was approaching critical red and she’d huff out in a somewhat razzled breath.
”S-sunflower? And… Ah! Yes… that makes sense..”
Holly then tilted her head slightly, her face still burning red. She had lost her momentum and she was having to stop to rub at her cheeks. They were so hot and so red from just that little quip. She understood the idea of learning and bonding with one another. So she’d ask something she was curious about. The mask. The necklace.
”Well… I’m used to mons that have different equipment. But… I’ve never seen a mon outside of a reppamon have a mask before and I’ve never seen that type of seashell! Even on a necklace.”
She’d chuckle lightly and at that playful nudge she’d return it ever so slightly.
”Well… Maybe not in the kitchen. I’m not super stellar at cooking. Not like my ma or her second iteration but!”
Holly beamed a bit and leaned to watch him once again; she followed suit. Trying to understand how he was going about all this. Two and a half cups. She’d curious adjust her own flame and work alongside him. Though she seemed a bit halting. Her blush hadn’t gone away and she’d flick her ears.
”Ah! All right, I think I am! We’ll see how it goes! And eheh… thanks! I’d probably be doing better if I had jade or one of my clones around.”
Holly was being humble for once, the meicrackmon flicking her tail and shifting her weight from foot to foot. She seemed a bit nervous if not outright taken back with how things were going. She clearly was enjoying herself and the meicrackmon paused to ask something.
”How do you keep the fur out? My ma manages somehow or at least did but everytime I cook it gets everywhere”

Through a intense dedication to his craft, while Holly followed his hands in recreating his steps to make the dish, his face expression remained looking at Holly. The absolute silence as his ears stood up, giving every sign that was enthralled by her actions. Every action Holly did towards his design, Agress nodded, that tense body posture slowly fading from him as Holly performed wonderfully. Agress taken back by how well she was actually keeping along.
Steadily listening to the questions and responses Holly said to him, while his hands steadily worked to keeping sure that aburaage was still slowly sifting through the sauce, thickening, absorbing flavor. Seeing the effect oh his words on Holly made even this diligent chef almost drop his spatula, Agress was not expecting such an extreme response.
Upon feeling the return of the playful nudge, his sight moved from Holly down to the spot where she nudged him back. Frozen for a split second, he quickly returned back to his cooking, listening to everything that Holly was saying. Agress felt good hearing another mon talking away, easing into a rhythm for his own motions. In the midst of taking in everything Holly said without missing a single word Agress managed to also pull out the other ingredients.
“You certainly speak far more than I expect. Where to begin on this one.” Agress hummed for a moment while his hands turned down the heat once the kelp water began boiling. He pointed towards the assorted ingredients that were prepped before having Holly join in the kitchen, grabbing one of the bowls of bonito flakes and slowly began to add into the saucepan.
“ Eden enjoyed the meals I made for her, she always had a smile about them during our travels. She tried joining me in cooking, though with limitations. Kudamon’s do not have the longest arms, she was fun but tended to hinder any group cooking.” Agress spoke of his past, it was laced with a hint of enjoyment from their conversation but as he went on, his tone became stern and his pitch was low.
“Eden and I ended up having our last night shared in this very zone. Out towards the Sea of Blood... “ Agress halted in his explanation again, watching a hand reach up towards his chest grazing a claw across the seashell again.
“ We learned that out interests went to different heights. After she left, this seashell was left behind for me I never really understood why but I have held tight too it since.” Agress set a timer, not showing how long the timer was to Holly, wanting this to be her challenge still.
“ The question for my mask? I am not sure.. I have always sort of had it. You know how a Gabumon can lift the pelt but never does? This is mine. I won’t remove it, there needs to be a serious event for me to remove this.” Agress took his time, checking his pan, taking the aburaage out from the now barren pan. Settling it upon a soft hot plate to keep it warm while he waits for the broth to finish.
Agress moved himself to the only chair and sat down, looking up at Holly as he did. “I am interested in this Jade. Show me to them or bring them. Though for your clones... my kitchen is only so big. Now for your interest in keeping fur out? One, I clearly have shorter fur than you, second is...”
Agress voice trails off before he reached behind his head, undoing a cloth strap and watching as the fur from the back of his head slips away. While having the fur tied back it, the mass blended in with the rest of him but once untied Holly got to see Agress’s unusually long cheek fur, as if it was a beard only for his cheeks! Though this made him feel odd so he moved to tie it back...
“Now, answer me Sunflower. I have no experience here but you said ‘ Ma ‘, how is your family?”

Holly flicked her ears a little bit as she followed along, it wasn’t hard. His motions were easy to follow and his hands were fairly similar to her own. That and she had worked with mons that had far less fingers for something like this. She seemed at ease doing stuff like this; then again she was well practiced in following along with this sort of thing. She cooked with her ma before and they showed her how to do a lot of things!
She tilted her head slightly as he continued to work; that sauce and aburaage… She looked at her own; made a small face and tried to follow suit. Where did she go wrong here? A little bit too much of stirring? Her reaction to his words seemed to make him stumble a bit too and she’d glance away quietly.
The playful nudge that was returned to him also gave a somewhat surprising reaction. Was he not expecting her to do so? She’d smile at him warmly and continued to work with him. She’d hum to herself as he told her about Eden as well as making a soft poke at the fact she talked a lot. It was interesting to hear about her; this kudamon. She hoped that they were doing okay even if agress no longer had them about.
”To be fair it’s sorta a thing I do. I chatter a lot. Most people can’t keep up with it and it’s kinda frustrating. Oh! Yeah I’ve met a gabumon before, but he had to remove his pelt because he was on fire.”
Holly nodded her head a few times and noted that there was a timer set… but she couldn’t see the time. She’d count on her fingers as to what day it was… And then realized that this would be one of the days jade would be managing her infinity storage!
”Oh! Let me just pull them out of my infini storage!”
Holly would carefully pull out of her chest fluff a small blue cube that once opened… Well. She’d stick her hand in and draw out a large orb. Easily large enough to sit in her hand. She’d grin a bit as it started to float around taking in it’s surroundings.
”This is jade. She’s an Artificial intelligence I made about half a year ago. She helps me with a lot of stuff and can even help me in combat! She also records everything that she learns and we have this like synergy cause we’re made of the same data stuff. Say hi jade!”
”...Good morning Mr. Agress. I’ll only be out for a moment, it’s quite dusty in there...”
The AI seemed to be joking about it; floating about to look around the little bistro. Holly would close the infini storage before putting it back in her chest fluff. Jaded would leave on her own accord whenever she felt it was needed. Hearing that nickname once again the meicrackmon felt her face flush a little bit and she’d mumble.
”We’re… still recovering from losing my ma almost six or so months back. I have a big brother, a big sister and two little siblings that are still in their eggs. My da is a doctor and he works a lot throughout the digital world. He’s a mikemon and he keeps kinda busy. My big sister is a knight too! And uh.. My step mom is actually my ma’s second iteration and she’s really friendly and really chipper. She’s a good lady and stuff. Though she’s sorta figuring out what she wants to do still. Or at least. Was last time I saw her. It’s been a few weeks cause she’s training to be a knight like my sis and like my Ma. Who also made the knights my sis is a part of!”
Holly exhaled a little bit and looked at her sauce, looked to that mixture and leaned this way or that as she was trying to figure out what she was supposed to do next. She was worried she missed a step somewhere…
”We’re all over the place it feels. But in a good way yanno? What about you? Any family or…?”

During this time, Agress was reclined into the back of his chair waiting for the timer that only he could see. Even taking the extra step to turn it to mute, so when the alarm ends its timer, nothing could be heard. One of the few times he could be happy he wore this mask, it mean he could keep his head looking at Holly while his attention drifted from her to the timer without even showing it. Though while Agress fiddled with the timer, he caught something sitting on the stove as Holly spoke..
Agress said nothing as Holly started responding to everything he spoke of or questioned, though with Agress secretly looking at the ingredient table and noticing Holly hasn’t used her bonito flakes yet. Agress was paying close attention to every word that Holly graced his ears but mentioning removing a Gabumon’s pelt... because he was on fire, it was frustrating.
‘What in the world do you actually do Holly...’ entered his own mental monologue as he attempted to visually recreate a scenario why a Gabumon would have been on fire. Without much victory in the task he just bobbed his head for a moment and focused to her again.
Agress was alarmed as Holly had this large orb, hearing its response. Immediately standing up from the chair he was sitting in, astonished as Agress has never seen a storage unit like that before only as a rumor. His ears where standing up like knives, they tried at least, the sheer impressive surprise from Agress made his ears hit the ceiling with a quiet thump.
Though having been astonished hearing one thing the things Jade could do, he even waved at the voice before it was tucked back into Holly’s fur. It took a moment for Agress to regain his collected composure, his quick and enthusiastic expression where still rather calm and stoic. His slender frame remained slouched as Holly started speaking about her family.
Agress nodded at first, listening to Holly’s root data, where her family reached back into iterations he could not even comprehend. Though what Agress thought would be a simple mention of a sibling here or there turned into quite an extensive list. Hearing the term knight cast around brought him some worry but he tried his best not to show it, feeling the title its different than what he knows.
After the enticing discussion of Holly’s family, Agress eyes wondered towards the ingredient table still seeing the bonito flakes resting there... Agress knew what will happen. He didn’t want to tell her, he figured this would be a fantastic learning experience for her. Though as he turned to the stove, grabbing the next set of tools, a thin mesh strainer, placing it over the pan.
He picked up the simmering kelp and bonito flake water, tilting the saucepan to pour it through the strainer. Though right before the water reaches the edge, Holly’s question stopped him, Agress felt a knot swell up in his chest, Agress’s body was calm; in his off hand the to the saucepan’s handle creaked. Clenching it in a discrete manner, trying to hide the response as he steadily poured the mixture into the main pot.
Agress didn’t answer for a moment, a awkward silence filling the kitchen. Though with a steady breath Agress let out a steady hum; taking the now empty saucepan, placing it back on the stove, filling it with a bit of water. Once the saucepan was filled, he reached into the ingredients pile and opened a metal container. It was filled with these fluffy, thick udon noodles!
“ The ones who raised me I would not call a family. I know that now, I have only met 3 Digimon I would consider family... One of them, I am not sure if they are.” Agress kept his sight down at the stove. The main pot began to boil, he reduced the heat, measuring in more mirin, salt, soy sauce and brown sugar. Leaving it alone while the main bot dissolved the items mixed into it with out any help.
“ Sunflower. You better thankful to be in this kitchen.” His tone was firm, not frustrated or harsh like she first walked in though his eyes were trained to the dish. Knowing it was almost read as Agress pulled serving dishes out from the lower shelves on the chefs side of the serving counter. His steps were quick as he placed everything down on the side of the stove.
Agress took a very slow, delicate role, seeing his hands almost moving in slow motion as the udon noodles were placed into the bowl with meticulous detail. Grasping the spatula form earlier; he took the aburaage, laying it down on top of the noodles on the left side of the bowl. Now reaching for the saucepan that was strained, this nice deep gold dashi, this beautiful deep broth as Agress began to gently pour it over the aburaage.
The bowl was steadily filled, once ready, Agress quickly flourished a knife out of the knife block, his fingers moving like lightning. Only seeing them drift across a cutting board like a ghost, chopping up green onions before sprinkling them down into the now fully ready Kitsune udon.
“Now, how about we go sit down and enjoy our dinner?”
