"Tch..."
Deeplane City. Just two years ago, this place would have seemed like a fantasy - but thanks to the efforts of one persistent human and a lot of people who shared her dream, the Dark Area now had its own central hub, safe from the wandering monsters and foul weather of the horrific landscape above. If one spent enough time in the underground city, they might have forgotten that they were in the Dark Area at all... until they would look just under the surface.
It was unavoidable, but Deeplane City was also the home to several criminals and ne'er-do-wells who wanted a place to hide. Even those who seemed normal and calm on the surface might have been on the run, and it was this latter case that brought Syre all the way to the Southern District. The Knights of the Rose had picked up the trail of a Keramon who had managed to slip away with a valuable package just outside of Whitewater. Thankfully, the package had come with a tracking beacon, so it should have been as simple as locating the Digimon, apprehending him from range, and apologizing to Amelie about the ruckus later.
... That would have been the plan, had Syre not found herself holding the tracking beacon, the small metal button discarded in an alley just outside of the industrial section.
He's either hiding, or he realized it was hot and he already sold it. Either way, the situation didn't change - she had to find that package! But at this point, the cat was left at a tough spot. If I alert the guard, that might drive him further into hiding. But, then what was she supposed to do, question every Keramon in the city?
... Maybe not. The beacon still felt awfully warm - maybe it had just been torn off from its battery? Maybe there was a trail to follow!

Things in Deeplane were pretty interesting today. Even though not precisely in the good sense. Suspicious activity had been monitored by the city’s surveillance, and while the forces of the law and order were already hot on the trail of whatever was happening, Amelie herself had decided to help. Personally.
What could be so important, as to be something that had been so insistently kept in secret? The brunette didn’t know, but she sure was on her way to find out. Right now, she was searching her quarry through the track provided by when the last time a surveillance camera had caught whoever had gotten inside her city. Did she have any chances at finding the culprit? It didn’t seem too unlikely, but it wasn’t like it seemed very likely either.
There wasn’t a lot of time to waste, either. Given everything had been done correctly, Amy would probably be hot on the trail of whatever she was supposed to hunt. One question hung up in the air for the time being, however. What was exactly this digimon’s plan and… What would happen once it got caught? Or found, at the very least.

Naturally, there was the chance that Deeplane already had an eye on the problem - and if the issue resolved itself, then hey, Syre would have quite the easy afternoon!
Unfortunately, things didn't go quite so smoothly. The security cameras would have picked up on a Keramon carrying a box, about the size of a trophy case, deep into the Southern District about twenty minutes ago. If Amy had people checking the area, then she'd know that neither the package nor the Keramon had been seen leaving the Southern District. It was just a matter of cornering the thief - if the business owners around here would be willing to cooperate, that is!
For Syre, however, it seemed more and more like a wild goose chase. Sure, she could try and search on her own, but without any kind of authority here? "I'd probably just be jumping into a crazed nest or something..."
Right, keep calm. She'd make her way out of the alley, pulling out her D-Terminal to send out a text to -
"Oof!"
Okay, well, speak of the devil! Distracted somewhat by her 'phone', Syre didn't check the corner, and managed to face-plant right into the knee of a stray passer-by. Thankfully, that stray passer-by was Amelie - and, even more thankfully, Syre did manage to pull back enough so that the spirit wielder wouldn't wipe out along with the cat! The BlackGatomon stumbled back, idly rubbing the top of her head, as she'd give a small, dry chuckle.
"... Heh... hi there." She shook her head. "Just the auntie I wanted to see - but if you're already here, well, are you already looking for the 'thing'?"
Syre kept it vague, and her voice relatively muted - but she'd explain, and once they were clear they were on the same page, she'd show that flimsy button she found in the alley. "The tracking piece is still warm, so whatever the 'thing' is, I think its gotta be within a block or two here. So, any place around here make sense?"

It wasn’t going to be an easy chase, that much was pretty obvious for Amy. Did she expect to get an unforeseen ally in endeavor? Most likely, since the intruder wasn’t the only being that had been caught in Deeplane’s cameras. The brunette expected to find a certain digimon while traversing the city as well; what she didn’t expect, however, was to accidentally knee Syre’s face.
She couldn’t help but to wince at the unfortunate event. That had been… not ideal, by any metric. “You okay there, Syre?” She couldn’t help to ask, giving the cat a quick look to assess the damage. Once she made sure that everything was more or less okay, she concentrated on the matter at hand.
“Hey there.” She greeted right away, somewhat casually. “Yes. I’m tracking the same thing that you are, I guess. Suppose we should do it together, huh?” The young woman seemed thoughtful for a while, thinking about Syre’s own question before her expression seemingly illuminated with an idea.
“There’s a warehouse nearby. It’s pretty big, so who knows if that’s what they’re looking for. But given that there’s no other places of interest nearby… might as well, right?”
At least for now, that seemed like the plan that made the most sense. Would it work out, though? Time to put that theory to practice.

It was supposed to be a simple job. A mindlessly easy one at that. Take the box, find the buyer and get paid, easy peasy. This wasn’t the first time he had stolen something. If he was lucky however, this would be the last time he’d ever need to steal. Taking that thing away while no one was looking had been as easy as he had predicted, but it quickly became apparent for him that there were people quite interested in not letting that old thing go anywhere. He hadn’t gotten even a mile away from the crime scene, and he could tell someone was on his trail, no doubt looking to recover the totem and locking him up someplace ugly for his troubles. It was nothing more than a gut feeling, but any thief worth its salt knew when to listen to their instincts and as some people in the business so casually put it, “get your ass out of dodge.”
“Fat chance.” he thought to himself, throwing caution to the wind and finding the nearest trailmon station and boarding one of the sentient transports to his destination. It was risky, but it was also the fastest route available, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to walk all the way from Whitewater to Deeplane.
A couple of hours later, the thieving Keramon found himself sitting on his lonesome in a rather unassuming alleyway on the underground city, inspecting the rather mysterious package he had gotten his hands on. He shook it a bit, placing the side of his head to the side of the box. Whatever was inside it was rather big, but not exactly heavy, so it probably wasn’t any jewel. Perhaps some piece of tech? He couldn’t tell, and he wasn’t curious enough to open it and see for himself, not while he still wasn’t in the clear.
After all, he had just gotten rid of that weird tracking thing hidden underneath the box. While he had dumped it a couple of streets away on some random alley, there was no telling how long that would fool whoever was following him. Taking a deep breath, the keramon grabbed tightly onto the box as he peered out of the alleyway and into the street.
There didn’t seem to be any guards nearby, though that would surely change soon. Clenching the box tightly he slowly made his way out into the street, trying to blend into whatever small crowd of passerby might be there.
“Warehouse. Where’s the warehouse?” he muttered under his breath, his eyes darting all around. He was this close to getting rid of this thing and be done with it. He could almost taste the payday coming…

"Yeah, its fine..."
Really, it was. Rubbing at the spot of impact, the cat didn't feel any bump, and with a quick moment to pat the dust off her legs, she looked good as ever. As a Champion, it would take a lot more than a bump to keep her down!
It didn't take long for her to explain the situation, nor did it take long for Amelie to come up with the idea of the warehouse. From the sounds of it, it sounded like it was just a block or so away. "Hm... guess it makes sense if we check it out. Something big might be hiding in there. Let's 'suit up' before we get there." It was probably a good idea for Amelie to tighten the patrol around here as well just in case. It wouldn't take long for them to reach the warehouse - though, just based on where they approached from, they ended up on the opposite side of the building from the Keramon, and the pair arrived just a little bit earlier. Syre - now as a Sistermon Noir - gave a nod to Amelie, slowly opening up the door into the warehouse. She didn't spot anything immediately, just empty crates and a few storage palates. This was probably a leftover storage unit from when the city was being built down here in the first place.
Case in point, the floor was somewhat littered with broken tools and discarded screws. She didn't see anyone around immediately - so she'd signal for Amelie to follow. Rather than raise her own voice, she'd rely on direct contact with Amelie's spirit:
'Nothing on the right or far side. Anything seem off, here?'

Considering their current situation, making sure that this process happened as smoothly as possible was probably the best course of action. “Good idea.” She muttered. “I’m gonna call for a bit more manpower to patrol the area, then we should be able to get our hands dirty by entering the warehouse. Don’t think we need more preparation for that.”
She probably referred to evolving before entering a potentially dangerous situation, but that for that… the situation had to be found in the first place. As of now, things were just starting to move.
It was only a matter of time before the duo’s evolved forms broke into the building. There, the most obvious course of action seemed to be separating in hopes of finding the culprit of this dubious endeavor.
Surprisingly enough, at least for the time being… there was nothing to be found.
Nothing here either. I wonder if we were too late. Or maybe if we’re too early? Do you sign any signs of a disturbance around? Maybe there’s something we’re missing.
Thoroughly searching the full extension of the warehouse was probably a nigh-impossible task in the short span of time they’d been here. There was surely something they were missing, right? Or, maybe something they hadn’t taken into account until now. For now, Amelie could only wonder what wasi t.

The keramon quietly slinked into the warehouse, being careful not to be seen by anyone. Closing the door behind him as silently as possible he clutched tightly to the small box with a deep breath and made his way down one of the many hallways surrounded with shelves filled with boxes and containers of various sizes.
He searched high and low, but he didn't seem to find anyone. Not a soul.
It was only now that he began to question the instructions he had been issued. He was to carry that odd box to a warehouse in the middle of the Deep Lane and then...what? Well, what he assumed would happen was that there would be someone there to pick up the package, perhaps even paying him up front for the trouble. But of course, there didn't seem to be anyone else in the building aside from him.
So that left him with two possibilities: either his contact was hiding somewhere in the building...or be it for one reason or another, they were not here. Biting his lip, he pndered what was he supposed to do. Cursing under his breath, he sat placing his back against one of the shelves, inspecting that wretched box once again. He spun it between his hands, giving it a good long look to every inch of the rather unassuming black square.
"So much trouble for what exactly?" As those thoughts formed in his mind, he flipped the box around once again, trying to find any sort of lever, button or whatever mechanism that may allowed him to open it. Might as well know what was so valuable to warrant having people chasing him and the large sum of bits he had been promised for it, right?
However as he kept inspecting the small square, he was startled by the distinctive sound of footsteps echoing inside the building. It took him aback so much the box slipped from out of his hands and fell to the ground. Before the keramon was even able to curse out loud the black square crashed against the hard floor with a loud CRACK, the box shattering into many smaller pieces on impact. The keramon panicked, and quickly reached for the broken container. There was no way whoever was inside had heard this, and he wasn't gonna stay around to see if it was his contact. His long fingers moved the broken box to the side, revealing a glistening lavender colored stone underneath. Momentarily speechless, he lifted the small stone and looked at it closely. It felt cold to the touch, like a piece of ice recently taken from the fridge.
...really? All this trouble for something the size of a Botamon's eye?!
Whatever, he could tell his employer to shove it somewhere foul later. He tightly clenched his fist around the small glowing stone, and quickly climbed atop the nearest shelf. Once there he tried to hide himself in between to metal containers...and waited. Just making a run for it would surely end up in disaster, so he simply stood there, quiet. Holding his breath. Thinking of a way out.

Nothing to be found.
The Sistermon let out a low sigh. She didn't want to miss anything, but the reality was that there was any number of surrounding buildings that the thief could have ran off to - and they were only two Digimon searching the entire block! 'There's no guarantee that the thief even chose this building to begin with. Let's just do a good sweep and then wait for the rest of your guar-'
CRASH.
Okay, change of plans! Syre's attention was quickly drawn to the source of the sound - and sharing only a small nod towards her auntie, the Sistermon would sprint forward, pistol held at the ready. She briefly posted herself at the corner, and then turned to face the hall, gun in her right hand drawn and at the ready.
... No visible targets, but they did have confirmation that he was just here with that shattered container! Seeing that shattered box, Syre's eyes quickly scanned to the surrounding area. Corners he could have taken - no, no, that didn't make sense. There was also the sound of clattering afterwards, and besides, one of them would have noticed the Keramon moving for the exit, right?
'I'll keep an eye on the main floor, at the main exit, and freeze him if he tries to leave. Check the shelves - a Keramon could slip into any little crack or gap...'

While otherwise unassuming at the start, the situation began to ramp up in intensity quite fast. First, it seemed like the duo would get no clues on the whereabouts of the rogue Keramon, and that they'd have to wait for backup before any developments in the situation could be appreciated, but that fact was fixed pretty swiftly —and, interestingly enough— thanks to the Keramon's own mistake. Amelie hadn't been able to hear the sound of the shattered container for obvious reasons, but her form was quite good at determining where the vibrations from the crash had originated, and to close the distance towards them as efficiently as possible. It only made sense that the Keramon would be near, unless he either was terribly fast or had intended such an action as a distraction.
Guess they'd find out that soon enough, wouldn't they? A nod of sorts was given to Syre as the aberration raced towards the point of the event, all while making sure to mask its presence as much as it could. Sure, she was invisible, but given how narrow the spaces where bound to produce at least some noise and warn up anyone observant enough regarding them.
A question hung in the air after that. What would Keramon do in the face of its impending pursuer? That'd probably dictate how the following minutes would play out.

His proverbial heart raced as he felt the presence of a larger, obviously stronger digimon fast approach his location. Against his better instinct, he couldn't help but take a quick peek from his hiding spot, but he soon regreted doing so as what he saw approaching his position made him shove his fist into his mouth to stop an alarmed scream from coming out. Whatever that kind of digimon was, it would probably be the end of him if he let himself be seen. Yet that still wasn't the most alarming thing, but rather the fact that whatever was inside the stone seemed to stirr and move more and more, the light emanating from within the mineral increasing with each second. It soon became so bright that even if the poor Keramon had found a hiding place, the now practically blinding glow coming from the crystal would have given him away. It was almost as if the damn stone was as scared of that bizarre digimon as the Keramon was. Desperate to keep himself hidden, he bit his lip hard for a moment, contemplating what had to be done. With a short moment of hesitation he opened up his mouth and let the small bright stone fall into his mouth, hoping the light wouldn't be a problem anymore. What came after was...hard to explain. A burning, searing pain momentarily shot through his body, his frame becoming completely stiff as he fell out of his hiding place, eyes wide open and vacant of any sort of emotion or really any signs of life. A moment later, his body would seem to rise up again, but seemingly not out of its own volition. If anything, it looked as if he was being held by strings. He'd open his mouth, but no sound would come out. Yet both Amelie and Syre would hear a message loud and clear, even if they couldn't quite place where it was coming from. As if it was being broadcasted into their heads directly. 18.5.2.15.15.20.0.16.18.15.20.15.3.15.12.0.9.14.9.20.9.1.20.5.4 After that? A dash of multicolored light. A chilly air would take over the warehouse. The body of the Keramon was nowhere to be seen. In it's place, a single object remained. It towered above the Spirit Wielder's for, it's perfectly smooth and transparent surface letting the cloud of darkness within it be perfectly visible for all to see. Were it not for the ever shifting movements of said cloud, one would be forgiven to mistake this thing for a mere (if incredibly oversized) jewel. It didn't stay inert for long, however. With nothing but a quiet hum the creature seemingly began to vibrate in place ever so slightly, light and energy seemingly building up inside the crystal. With little warning beyond that, a massive beam would fire from the upper tip of the crystal, aiming right for Amelie if she didn't react fast enough. Moonmillenniummon uses Ablation.
Ablation: Shoots out a single concentrated beam of energy, a large explosion of energy happening not long after on the impact zone. Deals damage to any target directly hit by the beam and any targets caught on the blast range of the explosion. 5 posts cooldown.

In all, Syre was glad to have Amelie's help on this.
They were only after a rookie, after all. The largest risk would have been him trying to slip away while they both had their attention on the same place. Syre, however, had sight over both of the warehouse's main exits, and it wouldn't take long for the amorphous spirit to be able to parse out the Keramon's position, if it were still hiding within the shelves.
This should have been open and shut... but Syre made one mistake. She didn't expect the Keramon to get desperate.
Granted, the Sistermon Noir didn't know the contents of the package. She had no idea how bad the situation could get, but when the situation turned foul, Amy's niece quickly took notice. A massive spike of data overtook those shelves, mere feet away from where her partner was searching. That sheer, incomprehensible noise was matched with the giant spike of energy overwhelming the warehouse. As the light faded, the temperature fell, and the Sistermon found herself looking at something.
Something powerful. Something terrifying. And something that was focused right on Amy.
"Damn it!" Damn it, why did they split up?! A purple light twisted around Syre's form, the Sistermon replaced with Kuzuhamon, the mega-level fox sprinting back towards the fight. But it would be far too late: the light from that form would twist, and the laser would be fired right out towards Amy. This... this was definitely bad! She covered her eyes, keeping the smoke and debris out of her face. That attack probably left a huge hole out of the back of the building.
Rationally, Syre might have been concerned that this thing might make its way out into the city. But right now, it was clear where her focus was:
"AUNTIE!"

The situation at hand seemed to be pretty under control for the time being; Amelie was closing into the intruder’s location, and judging by the look of things, this whole issue would be resolved pretty swiftly. After that, both females could probably get some hot chocolate or undergo a similarly pleasant endeavor.
Unluckily, things wouldn’t be so easy for the duo; while the aberration couldn’t see or feel what was happening, it could sense the immense release of power that was undergoing in front of her. For some idle moments, the digimon stood still, completely silent in the face of a digimon that was no doubt leagues above its current form.
It was a good thing that the digimon could react in time to what would happen next, else it’d probably not live to tell the tale. The fact that the initial shot was avoided didn’t mean there wouldn’t be repercussions, however; the explosion that ensued in the wake of such an attack sent the digimon hurtling backwards with great force, and made it impact upon the nearest vertical solid surface that its body found.
Amelie’s consciousness flickered for some brief moments. What in the world had that been? It was quite hard to scan her surroundings in her dazed stupor, so hopefully there wouldn’t be an immediate danger to her soon-ish.
Maybe that was wishful thinking, but it wasn’t like a lot more could be done in the current situation.

Luckily for Amelie however, the digimon seemed largely uninterested in finishing her off, or even engaging at all. Surprisingly, her wishful thinking had some grounds, as after the attack sent her flying the object remained mostly passive, silent and unmoving in it's spot, it's eerie shadow hidden behind the cloud of rubble like an ancient, malignant monolith. It whirred loudly as it continued to vibrate, levitating off the floor while hovering barely above ground level. The smoke like substance within twisted and turned, moving away from the center and converging against the top side of the inside of the crystal, almost as if it was trying to peek out and into the hole on the ceiling that the recent explosion had just created. Was it...trying to figure out it's whereabouts, perhaps? 12.15.3.1.20.9.15.14.0.21.14.11.14.15.23.14. 0.12.1.18.7.5.0.4.1.20.1.0.19.15.21.18.3.5.0.4.5.20.5.3.20.5.4 Another string of incoherence to any sane mind later the mineral based creature floated upwards, slowly but surely making a beeline for the now partially wide open ceiling. And it would have probably continued on it's way...but something seemed to make it stop on it's tracks. The smoke cloud was now swirling inside the crystal, practically bashing against the side of it repeatedly. Soon after the crystal began descending once again, moving ever so slowly and meticulously inside the cloud of debris they had generated. Moving in the direction of a recently digivolved Mega. 4.1.20.1.0.19.16.9.11.5.0.14.5.1.18.2.25. 0.0.5.14.7.1.7.9.14.7.0 It didn't just mindlessly approached however, as it got closer it would be clear for the duo that something amiss with the MoonMillenniunmon's crystal's surface, it no longer looked perfectly smooth as before, sharp jagged tips of shards protruded all over said surface, as if it was being broken from the inside out. Just like that all the shards would be shot out, sent all over the surrounding area like shrapnel from a grenade, ready to bore themselves onto anything or anyone unfortunate enough to be in their way. Zero Vector: Shoots out small shards of crystal in an area. Said shards deal negligible damage but will tether it's targets to any nearby surfaces, restricting their movements for a post. 4 posts cooldown.
Cooldowns: Ablation (1/5) Zero Vector (0/4)

No, no, no!
No! That explosion, that point of impact, it rattled the whole warehouse - and even if Auntie hadn't been hit directly, she was still roughly thrown into the wall, left in a heap on the floor! The Kuzuhamon briefly looked on at that crumpled frame, and then towards the MoonMilleniummon, that grating tone once more scraping at her ears. She poised her staff, ready to defend. Her staff briefly shined white, a cold, frigid aura surrounding it, the fox keeping her focus right on the crystal.
A crystal that was rising higher... was it trying to escape? Fuck, if this thing ended up getting out into the city, this would get a lot worse! Like I'd let you! Syre kicked off the ground, swinging her staff forward to send a sharp blade of ice energy straight towards the target, her ethereal fox leaping off of her shoulder, both intent on crashing right against the crystal, to try and stop whatever this was from escaping.
... Were it so easy, though. As Syre continued her approach, she heard it, ear flicking as the crystal in front of her began to crack. Ordinarily, she would have moved to dodge upward, where there was less surface area of the crystal to deal with. But, she knew who was right behind her.
Amy. Wounded, likely unconscious, and potentially unable to move. She didn't like it, but she grit her teeth, and raised her arms in a cross guard. The explosion came a moment later, cutting through her armor, and sending Syre herself into the back wall.
Was this attack not as powerful, though? Her armor was scraped and dented, but she seemed to still have her wits about her. Though, that didn't mean that she could peel herself away from the wall!
Techniques used: Saberk of Ice ICE ELEMENT Calling back to her mother's roots, Syre empowers the staff she is holding with a chilling white aura. The shape of the energy can be adjusted using the staff as a base, allowing her to create weapons such as pikes or halberds. While in effect, she can utilize her 'attack' for the turn, giving full swing of this blade to send out a cutting 'arc' of energy to a range of about one hundred feet. Three post cooldown, shared with Saberk of Ice, and three post cooldown. This is the duration per each instance of Saberk - meaning if she chooses one blade instead of drawing one, the duration is indefinite until broken, though using a projectile attack uses her named attack for the turn. [Passive] Avatar (CD: 0/1) At all times, Kuzuhamon is accompanied by her spectral avatar, generally in the shape of a shadowy fox. The avatar is capable of simple tasks, such as picking up or retrieving objects, but serves no battle purpose unless empowered.
Should Syre use an elemental attack, the Avatar becomes empowered, its color changing to match the same element that Syre just used. Once the spirit has absorbed an element, it can dash for a target to deal moderate damage as a remote projectile, though if it misses its 'dash', the element is lost and the Avatar returns to its basic state. [1 turn cooldown after an attack]
