Martial Artist
Throughout her youth Zoya has practiced and sparred with her older brothers in a form of kickboxing native to her home country. It served as a fond distraction between farm work and school for them. After moving to Japan she pursued martial arts as a hobby, which eventually got her the job as a stuntwoman. She’s no grandmaster by any means, but she knows enough to defend herself and look good doing it.
Green Thumb
Farmers can’t make a profit if their crops die out. Her father taught her how to tend to fields in different seasons, and how to properly care for plants. While she doesn’t do any farming these days she can certainly help out keeping flowers and other home plants healthy.
Backpack Contents:
Ol’ Reliable
A 1.5qt matte black thermos with a cup over the lid and a handle on its side. Usually houses a refreshing beverage of one kind or another pending the occasion. Never leave home without having your thirst covered! Has the phrase “за здоровя!” written on its side in white permanent marker, translating into a toast for good health.
First Aid Kit
The real world and even the digital world can be dangerous for a human to be running around in. Having suffered through a few injuries from work in the past Zoya tries to be ready for anything.
Extra Clothes
For those long trips into the Digital World! Stay out of this bundle unless she asked you to grab something for her!
Digivice:
D-3; colored white and black for the most part, with yellow trim.
Personality:
Chaotic Good
Sometimes, doing the right thing can be scary. Anxiety’s a funny thing like that. Even though we understand inherently as sentient, emotional creatures that some things aren’t right or fair, taking that first step to correct the problem can seem like trying to jump across a canyon’s worth of fear and self doubt. Yet in the face of all that uncertainty Zoya fears something else even more: the inevitability of suffering should she choose to do nothing at all. Good intentions mean nothing without action. Impulsive and impassioned in her moral standing she simply won’t back down if confronted with a situation she finds problematic. Zoya likes to think of herself as a maverick more than a troublemaker. She’s just trying to show that it’s okay to embrace and bet on your own emotions. It’s only when we learn to stand firmly on our own legs then can we learn to help others in need.
Cheerful
Being able to laugh is important to Zoya. Sometimes life just gets too serious for its own good, and suffocates people with unnecessary stress. Having the resiliency to comprehend the gravity of a situation while not letting it drag you down is a critical life skill, and she achieves that through the use of humor. She may not be a dedicated optimist, but keeping a smile through tough times is something she does quite well. When people around her are feeling down she can’t help but try to infect them with her buoyancy or carry and hold them up with it.
Gutsy
Bravery isn’t about having no fear, everybody’s got some of those and she’s no different. Cowardice is a poor excuse for inaction, though. Zoya will at least give something a good try before throwing in the towel and asking for help. Direct challenges are answered with a lively competitive streak, and any losses are looked at as learning experiences. Once she’s rallied her resolve and decided on a path to victory a rematch is unavoidably demanded on her part.
High Stakes Roller
There’s just some indescribable, thrilling primal urge that gets scratched when you play with fire and get away with it. As a small time adrenaline junkie she gets her kicks (sometimes literally) through her stuntwoman work and martial arts. She also has a penchant for gambling, but insists it’s only something to pass the time with. A few vices that are managed appropriately is nothing to worry about, right?
Meddlesome
Socially distancing oneself from others is a strange concept to Zoya. She was raised in a full family so solitude is a bit deafening to her. She likes to get involved with other people, make new connections, and share life experiences hand in hand. When she sees someone off on their lonesome she’s not shy about trying to invite them to group activities or just spending time with them herself. The latter is especially so when she sees others struggling with a problem, and even if they don’t want help she’s still going to offer it. Or in the very least, you’ll have earned a cheering spectator.
Self-Critical
Contrary to her normal chipper attitude she can get into a real mood when she makes big mistakes, especially if they affect other people. Zoya holds herself to higher standards than what she expects out of others to put it simply. While she’ll eventually laugh things off it’s not uncommon to see her berate herself under her breath during these times.
Appearance:
Zoya stands at a height of 5’10”, or 177.8cm, and weighs 140lbs, or 63.5kg. Her eyes are a bright blue color, and her hair is a pristine white, both of which compliment her pale complexion. She sports a lean muscular build, the product of heavy martial arts training and a farmhand background. Her body carries itself with a confident posture, and she’s prone to using her hands to help her talk with expressive or vague motions. She normally wears ordinary street clothes unless at work or in the digital world. When traveling through the digital world she likes to dress up a little, and had the outfit below made for her by a work friend in the costume department.
Personal History:
It’s often said that masks are crude facades people use to treacherously hide behind and deceive others with. There certainly is a healthy degree of truth to that idea. However, like many facets of human nature this is only one side to a duality. It’s also been said before that people are least themselves when they must talk as themselves; although, give them a mask and they will tell you the truth. The anonymity of a mask can help to serve a purpose of self discovery without fear of embarrassment or persecution from their peers. It can give ordinary people the courage to reach out and do great things that they wouldn’t have ever considered otherwise, and ultimately realize that beneath the mask they’re truly the same person who did all those great things.
It was that theory that made Zoya fall in love with Japan’s live action hero dramas. No one is born amazing. That’s an ideal we constantly strive towards as human beings with our everyday choices. Having too many decisions can even be a scary thing. How does one know for sure that they made the correct selection? We can never really know until something has already happened. For Zoya, inaction is the worst decision of all. As a tokusatsu stuntwoman she’s happy to put on the next mask for work and become someone different, as it forces her to experience different personalities and actions.
That doesn’t mean she forgets her past as a farm born country girl. That history and individuality acts as a solid foundation for her to stand on while exploring the boundaries of who she really is. Being brave and dynamic on stage is fun, and she acknowledges that as parts of herself she wants to nurture. Performing cool physical feats is a challenge she loves, and is something she trains hard to be good at. Pretending to be a villain is something that makes her uncomfortable, and she happily accepts that uneasiness.
She’s come a long way from where her life started, but like any hero worth their mask she’s ready to meet the future head on with a dashing pose.
As for her past she was born in Ukraine, and spent the first twenty years of her life there. She’s only graduated from high school and was unable to afford any higher education, but picked up several niche skills along the way. Her father owns a barley farm which she helped on, giving her an affinity for raising plants and a healthy physical endurance. Her brothers taught her the basics of kickboxing growing up as they aimed to be competitive fighters themselves.
After a young smooth talker of a businessman brokered a deal with her father for a Japanese brewery, she became infatuated with the foreigner. They had a long distance relationship going for a couple years before Zoya ended up moving to Shibuya to live with her boyfriend. She’s lived in Japan for four years now, pursuing martial arts as a hobby and working as a budding stuntwoman. Her Japanese is still a little rough, but she’s not afraid of a little roughhousing herself.

Digimon Name: Kapitan (Kap)
Default Form: Highest Available
Gender: Male
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Skills/Talents:
Pathfinder
Kapitan’s stomping grounds is a little grove of heaven in the Eastern Timberlands known as the Tyrant’s Labyrinth. Developing a good sense of direction was imperative to get by day to day there, and although it took him some time to nurture this skill he’s become quite adept at keeping track of his bearings. He uses most of his other five senses to keep tabs on things as well. What he sees, smells, feels, and hears can be just as informative as reading a map when properly paid attention to.
To answer the age old question, yes, if a tree falls alone in the woods it does make a sound. Even if Kap isn’t near it his superb hearing will probably pick it up before the tremors hit his feet. In his higher levels where his body is more machine than anything else, he can even eavesdrop on communication devices within a small radius of himself, and is capable of transmitting across them remotely as well.

Holosuit:
Mortal Kombat • Johnny Cage • Kapitan
Personality:
Chaotic Neutral
Quite happy to be left to his own devices Kapitan likes flying to the beat of his own wings, as an insect enthusiast might say. He wouldn’t burn the world down, but at the same time wouldn’t feel obligated to go out of his way to save it, either. There are always enough emotionally deficient nutjobs and brave idiots to see to those tasks respectively. Instead he likes to play devil’s advocate to both sides while being a noisy bug on the wall, trying to piece together motivations and ideologies for his own contemplation. His aid and ire are just as fickle, but Kapitan can sometimes be spurred into sudden action for reasons that may not be readily apparent. All in all, he treasures his ability to make choices for himself, and becomes bitterly stubborn if someone tries to coerce him one way or another.
Contentious
Some people like to know all the details before making a decision. Kap is not one of those people. Questions he asks aren’t always put out there for thought provoking discussions, and sometimes are just thrown out because he can ask them. As much of a nuisance as it can be Kapitan does find some enjoyment in friendly bickering. Playing devil’s advocate can be helpful from time to time, though. Even if he doesn’t particularly care about the results of a debate he may do so just to help point out alternative perspectives to others, and whatever they choose to do with that insight is up to them.
Individualistic
In Kap’s oversimplified perspective on the topic: “you decide who you are.” Overt attention isn’t his favorite thing ever, but he does appreciate even subtle touches of personal tastes to distinguish oneself with. It could be something as simple as an accessory, hairstyle, or even a signature gesture or saying. He believes it’s important to be happy with yourself in the very least when the world around you is so big and unknown. Of course finding yourself is easier said than done, but he encourages others to start on their own path of discovery to the point where he might even give a helpful shove to get them started.
Prideful
You have to learn to love yourself before you can start to care about others, and Kapitan is very much in love with himself. He will admit that he’s not perfect rather readily, but that’s hardly a blow to his self confidence. Perfection isn’t a destination, it’s a journey, and Kapitan got his sunglasses on for the long ride ahead. Just try not to slow him down if you’re tagging along.
Sociable
Strength can protect you from just about anything except for loneliness. Having grown up in the Tyrant’s Labyrinth he learned this lesson early on. Even for a mon as hard headed as Kapitan he understands the base need for companionship, or at the very least socializing in one form or another. He doesn’t deny that his personality can sometimes be grating. He’ll even admit that he argues for the fun of it. Although, with all that said and done Kap does cherish his interactions with others, good or bad.
