Even if the group didn't get along the best - Denryu and Viktor aside, there was still some latent friction from a past run-in with Cion - the General wasn't going to let it get in the way of the job. Information was imperfect, detail regarding the enemy was still largely unknown, and there was a large risk that this would blow up in their faces if the scouting party was found out.
"Well, hooking up the subway car would be one way to handle it..." The General nodded at Tiger's assessment. It didn't take them long to settle into place - two kilometers away, and still on the Digital World side of the border - but as Tiger called for the 'Scouting Party', when only Panthermon stepped up, the General gave a silent sigh.
"Angel, you're up."
"Hm? We're actually using that?"
Angel muttered that back, giving a small growl as she stood up. Denryu clicked two chips into his Xros Loader. Two streams of data slipped around, and the Renamon found herself stretching up. Her cloth gloves were replaced with metal gauntlets, a rapier was sheathed at her right hip, and a Reppamon's mask now covered the Renamon's face. As for what level she was?
Well. Like this, Angel didn't emit a data signal at all. She nodded, and would slip out right behind the Panthermon. Her eyes flicked down as the feline fell out of sight, and once they got a bit closer, Angel would do the same. It was still risky to get too close, but at least like this, if one of them did get discovered, the other could bail them out.
Any more than two, though, and it would get dicey.

The two of them listened to Agent Tiger and the Trailmon talk about the plan of escape, when talk of possible killing was mention, Runa and John got slightly uncomfortable. “Hey, you think we can get through this without having to kill anyone?” He whispered to Runa, who shrugged in response. “I hope that’ll be possible, these guys probably kidnapped these people because they felt like it would prevent a fight, but when they lose that, who knows what they’ll do? I don't think we need to worry too much about it getting that bad, so relax.”
John waves to Panthermon as he leaves, “Good luck, stay safe.” he said, Runa gives a thumbs up. As the other 2 left, John did the same, although Runa just gave a nod to them. Once the scout team was out, John walked on over to Zaber, sitting next to him to look at the video he brought up.
Runa hopped into John’s lap, curling up and getting comfortable, she would watch the feed, taking mental notes as to what was seen.

Blitzwolfmon watched Panthermon go followed shortly by Angel and began to feel uneasy. While she agreed that the scouting team should be small it didn't make the urge to spring out there less apparent. In her restlessness she began tapping one of her claws on her left hand against her leg though she didn't seem to notice. 'Must be patient. Recklessness would only endanger the hostages.' she thought as the tapping on her leg grew louder causing her to look at the offending hand. She willed the nervous tapping to stop as she began fiddling with her tail that was sitting in her lap while she glanced at the video.
It seemed both activities were enough to calm her down. That and it didn't hurt that the nervous rubbing of her tail felt good as well. She knew her tail wasn't just there for decoration but she had no idea that it was so sensitive as her human spirit. That was something to look into much later though.

So it was settled then! After initial distrust and senseless bickering, the entirety of their cornucopia had managed to achieve consensus. Proud to have contributed to the onset of a common cause of commonweal, she knew that for the time being, there was nothing for her to do. Ultimately, she and Viktor were responsible for making sure that, if things did not occur as planned, that they prevented more damage from happening. This naturally manifested itself in the people they intended to save from the terrorists, and it was a matter of course that she took this responsibility quite seriously.
Nonetheless, she assumed an unwound stance and sat down comfortably near a window. Nodding approvingly to the other fox, her aureate eyes lingered on the portal through which several of her allies ventured. Hopefully, the scouts would play their part without alarming their adversaries to their presence. Ambushing them, if peaceful solutions were not an option, was likely the best method as to inhibit proper resistance. The fact that they were so severely limited in their power still vexed her greatly, but she recognized that it was for the better. Many Ultimates were easier to deal with than a couple Megas.
"Any plan or utilization of abilities we should agree on, Viktor? As mentioned afore, my expertise lies in supportive, disruptive and protective powers - particularly for and against multiple individuals." Cion asked and explained kindly and calmly, hoping to find a shared footing with the vulpine warrior. They indeed had plenty of moments at their disposal to prearrange their tactics, so why not make use of it?

As Panthermon and Angel proceeded forward, Agent Tiger and Jiro remained with those in the Trailmon carriage. Thankfully, both were proceeding with enough caution so that they were not noticed as they arrived at the terminal. Panthermon also provided a video feed for extra assistance.
When Panthermon and Angel arrived at the terminal, they would see the forces stretched out. Watching the entrance was a duo of Deputymon and Butenmon. After that, the platform was bare, but at the very end of it, were about a dozen humans and digimon, huddled up nervously - clearly the hostages. And standing in front of them was a Makuramon and Metallife Kuwagamon.
Lastly, there were three digimon in reserve, standing in front of the elevator that would lead to the surface. A Centarumon, a Valvemon and lastly, Arachnemon. If either Panthermon or Angel could get some kind of visual confirmation on them, or describe them accurately, Agent Tiger would know at once about Arachnemon.
But for now, aboard the Trailmon, Agent Tiger and Jiro would await the results ahead. Little further conversation occurred, other than Cion consulting with Viktor about plans to help the hostages, and John and Runa consulting among themselves.
However, when Panthermon and Angel would report what they saw, Agent Tiger would quickly compile a diagram on the display as far as she and Jiro could make out. It was up to the two stealthy digimon to report their findings that would make it as accurate as possible.

Zachary waited with John, Cion and the others as they waited patiently-- seeing through Panthermon's eyes as he made his way out from the tunnel into the interior of the station. He kept quiet and focused, hearing Panthermon's progress through the video feed of his D-Sync, and his mind. Luckily, Panthermon too was quiet, but this way they could get his input on things without making any sound.
As both panthermon and angel moved closer, Zachary could see the people there... and it wasn't a pretty sight. A dozen kids were there with their own Digimon, all huddled together. Some looked scared, others had enough sense to keep calm and not cause trouble yet. However, Zachary had thought this wouldn't be too hard in terms of how many Digimon could of pulled this off. He thought there be just about two or three...
... he gulped to realizes how many there were.
"Oh crud... now we all got a problem," Zachary said to his allies next to him, each Digimon in the terminal coming into Panthermon's view.
From the terminal, invisible, Panthermon glared at each Digimon there slowly, studying its movements and listening to them as they talked or kept guard. His own hunter's instinct could be seen in his eyes, but he remained silent and kept out of the way for the moment.
From Zachary's location, he soon opened up the sub-menu to his Digivice Synchro and with flicks of his fingers, projected Digimon profiles that his Digivice registered. One by one-- he brought it up surrounding the view of the display that showed Panthermon's POV. Each one displayed the Digimon he saw-- the Deputimon, Butenmon... and as Panthermon moved along the tracks and peeked over the platform to see more, he saw the others.
One by one, Zachary brought up the scanned profile of each Digimon there, Makuramon, Metallife Kuwagamon, Centaurumon, Valvemon and Arachnemon... Each profile made Zachary frown. "I didn't think there would be so many... let alone more than half of them being ultimates... "
Keep calm, Zachary... Panthermon's thoughts flowed to Zachary, as he too heard what Zachary said. We all can handle this, but from what it seems we can handle the first wave-- enough to get the hostages out. Luckily, the kids have not been harmed. That is good for us.
Zachary took a breath and looked to Denryu, Cion and Tiger. "There seem to be 7 in total, but still, I wouldn't think anyone could amass this many ultimates in one place, let alone through to the real world. " Zachary explained, but then he had an idea-- one that Panthermon had heard as well. "You know, the terminal probably has smaller service passages. Maybe there is a way we can divide their focus. If we can find a way through the terminal and to the other side, we can confront them there, while you guys approach from the front. That way, they will be distracted-- and even give us a better opening to free the hostages... well, if we cannot negotiate."
Still, something then did occur to Zachary as well and turned to Tiger. "This might be a shot in the dark but... any chance you are familiar with these Digimon specifically?" he asked.
Panthermon kept to the shadows, a glance at Angel where she stalked as well. With luck, they could remain undetected and find an opening for them to help the poor kids and their Digimon.

... Nothing like what the General said it could be.
If the X-3 Renamon had one word to describe the set-up here, it would have been 'rudimentary'. The hostages weren't held in any sort of enclosed space, and at a glance, it simply looked like their captors were simply only guarding the exits to the area. It was efficient, but exploitable all the same. Seeing the feed, Denryu didn't find himself in shock regarding the situation.
Nor did Angel: invisible for the moment and without a data signal, she would briefly slip around the front guard, getting a decent view of the angle on the rest of them - before she would double-back. Confident as she was that she couldn't be seen, the Renamon wasn't going to trust that the Valvemon, at least, wouldn't have the sensors to track her. She made her way back past the entrance, keeping her back to a pillar out of sight of the rest of the group, before speaking low into her transmitter.
Denryu would feel the same buzz in his ears, and would provide whatever detail he could in regards to their position - and after that, he'd respond to Zachary: "More than the levels here, I'm more concerned about their number of ranged options. Butenmon is the only one lacking entirely, but they have five gunners - two in the Deputymon, one in the Valvemon, one in that Kuwagamon, and one in the Centaurmon - and really, only the Butenmon lacks any significant ability to cover the rest of the group."
That said, what was the best way to handle this? Zachary had an initial idea, in regards to approaching from a service passage - while the rest would come in from the front? "... I don't dislike that. Obviously, out first priority is getting to the hostages. So long as we can get the swordsman off the track, we can force our way through with the Trailmon and split their forces in half. The only issue is how heavily guarded the hostages themselves are - its not going to be easy to separate them from the group."
"Makuramon, in particular, is a problem. Some have the ability to trap and condense targets into marbles - he could just decide to move the hostage group with him, at any point. I wonder if that's how they got the hostages down there in the first place... tch."
It was hard to exactly know the best way to go about this. Even being at a slight advantage would have been difficult, but with this many sight-lines and the ability to both threaten and relocate the hostages? "At this point, I'd say their coverage is too high to make a lot of 'safe' moves' Two options: we can have Agent Tiger pretend to meet their demands, to give an opening - or we can have Angel move in, directly on top of the hostages, and provide a barrier with Taomon, while we move on through with the Trailmon."
"... Though, for that second one to work, we'd need to force Butenmon off of the tracks... hm?" Use a service passage? "Don't they have control of the entire station?"

"All these digimon with long distance attacks is a bad thing in another way. They could bring the station itself down on everyone's heads if they aren't careful. Not to mention all these ultimate level digimon. I, myself, am only at the champion level so I have to be extra careful not to get smeared all over the station along with the hostages." Blitzwolfmon was worried about the hostages even more. None of them were expecting so many ultimates. She, herself, was expected no more than maybe two but it looked like the strategy would have to be adapted to the situation at hand.
A thought came to her mind and she said "Though I wouldn't be strong enough to deal with Butenmon maybe I can distract Makuramon with my speed so the hostages can be moved to safety if the negotiations fail." Blitzwolfmon hoped her suggestion would at least be considered because she wanted the humans out of the line of fire more than anything even if it didn't seem so to the others.

The feed from Panthermon was concerning to say the least, seeing all the ultimate level digimon caused John to feel anxious. “More then half? Well that’s… hmm, I see, yes.” He was just stringing together words at that point, not used to facing opponents of this level before, he was trying to process it.
Runa, noticing this, swished her tail in front of his face, getting his attention. “Hey, stay calm John, we can handle this. Besides, we have Ultimates on our team too, we aren’t in over our heads yet.” This calmed him down, and he patted her head. “Thanks, I’m good now.” Runa protests to this and pushes his hand away. “Don’t do that, you’ll make me look undignified!”
Now that he was calm, John thinks about how the 2 of them could help with getting the hostages out of there, “We could act as a distraction while the hostages get away, since she can only go to champion, drawing fire seems like the best we can do.” Runa nods in agreement.

Viktor closed his eyes as he felt the train lurch to a stop. He had taken this time to meditate, to prepare. So inwardly focused that he didn't bother to really listen to the others. Their plans mattered little for his role anyway. He could feel there was a concern with his disdain for Denryu and they gave the impression that they should be separated from one another to keep from fighting. Viktor was a professional and was not a child. He did not need anyone to separate him from someone else. He would work as he needed for the job to be complete. But he didn't toil over that... he let his mind drift and his body recuperate.
Finally, as he stood, his form began to glow and shift. Within minutes of where the Renamon sat, now stood a much taller vulpine warrior who only barely resembled a Taomon. Some might look and not even recognize him as a Taomon, given his lack of robes and Naginata in lieu of a Paintbrush. He would walk over to Cion, placing his Weapon down and listening to Cion's suggestion.
"Our best bet is watch and wait. If we see any hostage takers bunch up, then use any tactics to make them regret that. If you'd like, I will escort the hostages while you keep us covered from afar. I can use much more protective wards and can focus better on a single target, I feel. Combined with those, we should have little issue moving the Hostages."
He stood up, the fox moving just on the other side of the carriage as he waited in silence. Soon... their plan would be put to the test. Viktor had faith in Cion and his own abilities. But it was just a matter of waiting for now. He could only hope the team infiltrating did not get seen. He had a plan for that too, if it came down to it.

The time for patience had finally come, and it was upon Cion to display how apt she was in this most crucial, virtuous art. Surrounded by dark concrete, her aureate eyes narrowed slightly, awaiting the return of her comrades and the intel they were tasked to bring. Naturally, she trusted in their competence, that of Denryu and his team in particular, but she nonetheless played out worst-case scenarios in her mind. What if they were spotted, or worse captured? What if she had to face several opponents by herself, or if they were threatening hostages? Innumerable possibilities, all of which she had to be prepared for.
Hence the question directed towards Viktor, regardless of the shape he had decided to assume at this point. Agreeing on a modus operandi, or multiple, would be beneficial for future coopeartion, especially if things did not turn out as intended. His suggestion was not as detailed as she would have preferred, but it at least gave an idea of his preferences and capabilities. If nothing else, they had plenty of protective means at their disposal, which of course suited their role as the last line of defense.
Nodding firmly, she visibly agreed that watching and waiting was the best plan to pursue as of yet. Besides, it was what they were instructed to do in the first place. "Impede our adversaries as much as possible - affirmative." The silver fennec replied, her voice somewhat distant for she was already in contemplation on how to do so. Her Ultimate form was severely limited compared to later stages, which was why she knew that she had to utilize her powers with utmost precision and - both in moment and location.

Agent Tiger narrowed her eyes as the intelligence came through. Multiple Perfect levels as well as Champion levels... this was a powerful force indeed. A force that matched their own volunteer counter-force.
Her first thoughts were that they had no choice but to approach this as a group. They had to coordinate, or else the situation could easily be lost. An enemy force this strong could easily gain the upper hand... but only if they were allowed to.
Once the intelligence was received, Tiger listened to Zaber's suggestions. "I'm sure there's a vast network of tunnels here, Shibuya Station was originally built 135 years ago. But simply put, we don't have time to seek out any possibilities like that. Unless one of us has a detailed map of the station and all its hidden approaches." she replied. Unfortunately the time just did not exist for them to plan such a sneaky entrance.
Zaber asked if Tiger was familiar with any of the digimon present. "Yes. Arachnemon. I first met her in the Golden Week incident last year." she replied. "She taunted me, trying to provoke a reaction from me. She almost succeeded, but my comrades managed to defuse that situation." Tiger wouldn't readily give the reason why just yet.
Denryu then added the intel from Angel to the conversation. Much of the digimon seemed to be specialized in ranged combat. This could be a problem, given that the only defense from the ranged attacks were the pillars around the platform. If it came to combat, there was risk that these pillars could be destroyed, and the station above could collapse in on them.
Denryu then suggested two options. One was that Agent Tiger herself be the bait. The other was that they make a swift entry, using barriers and surprise to achieve their aims.
Both options were seriously considered by Agent Tiger. "If you need assistance on that second option, I believe Jiro can handle Butenmon." she said. "However... I won't beat around the bush. The first option will likely cause them to lower their guard. I know, because, I believe I know what to say to them now."
"Nami..." Jiro whispered, the Dracomon-X looking at her with shock.
"Jiro, you will address me as Agent Tiger while we're on duty." the woman said firmly. Jiro gasped and looked ashamed at this slip-up. Tiger continued. "I believe I know what they fear, and what their demands would be. If they even attempt to lay a finger on me, I'll tell them that should anything happen to me, Earth will declare war on the digital world. And that DATS have learned from their previous mistakes, we'll do a thorough job this time."
This was a bluff of course, yet with a sliver of truth. If the digimon killed Agent Tiger, she would be replaced by someone much more terrible and ruthless to digimon, and DATS would have just cause to go to the digital world in retaliation.
However, there was merit in the second plan too.
"If we decide to go with plan B, however, it would be logical to strike with maximum force quickly, minimize their ability to fight back, and aim to rescue the hostages first up, then make our escape. While the enemy may have ranged attacks, they're equal to us in number. We can keep them occupied enough so that they don't interfere with our rescue operation."
Viktor and Cion seemed to be in agreement with their roles in the operation, so that just left the conclusion.
"So, what should we do? Have me and Jiro approach first to grab their attention? Or quickly overwhelm them?" Tiger asked of the rest of the group.

Post by Zachary "Zaber" Scryer on Jun 18, 2020 18:12:44 GMT
So much was going on. He heard the opinions of everyone, and it seemed that a conflict was inevitable. Still, Zachary felt things could be different. At the mention that the tunnels plan was possible-- but they didn't have the time.
Zachary couldn't help but prove Agent Tiger wrong for that brief moment. "Actually..." Zachary said, his tone hinting as he adjusted his D-Sync. With a few buttons and a flick of the hologram screen-- it opened a new one before all their eyes. A 3-D holographic map appeared before them, a far more accurate position to the Digimon Radar most Digivices had. It had not only shown the Digimon positions but the 3-D layout of the station all the way to where Panthermon was-- including showing the small network of service tunnels beyond just the main trail lines.
Zachary didn't say anything but smiled smugly at Tiger to counter her argument.
Still, the main issue was a course of action and time was limited, as she said, so it wasn't going to be easy to use the tunnels anyway. However, the bigger issue was the fact that Agent Tiger KNEW the Arachnemon. His eyes widened at this realization and lowered his Digivice a little. "So, it's the same one? Then this isn't some random attack or statement. She may even be expecting resistance."
Zachary gave this thought as he heard the others. The concept of a big fight down here was not lost on Zachary. Even he was aware that too much long-range, wide-area attacks like Jaguamon's Chaos Wave-- would destroy the pillars or cause a cave in. That was something they had to avoid at all costs.
Denryu was the key concept of what to do-- one was to use a direct confrontation of an appeal, or a direct attack to stop them before harm could come. The only plus to a fight as they came from behind the portal, offering some chance to get to them.
It was then that Zachary wished to step forward. "Excuse me, Agent Tiger. I am in agreement to confront them directly and even try to negotiate. But if I may be so bold to suggest-- please allow me to be the one to do it." Zachary offered.
No! Just No! Hell NO! Panthermon's thoughts growled into his head even enough to make Zachary flinch before them. Zachary, this is a bad idea to put yourself out in the open!
He shook his head to continue-- though he was sure that Tiger and the others around him wouldn't probably like the idea of him going out there. Still... "Look, first of all, if you encountered this Digimon before, she probably would be expecting you. And she probably is prejudice to you as is. But, I am an unknown to them-- and more importantly, I am the leader of Nexus. I wish to try to appeal to them with words before we result in an all-out attack."
Not desiring to go into a lengthy speech, Zachary tried to make his point quick and direct. "Look, I know many tamers and Dats differ, but NEXUS was founded with the hope to bring Digimon and Humans together in understanding and co-existence. I know I cannot speak for Arachnemon, but we do not know the motives of the others under her control. That is why I want to appeal to them. At best, we might be able to get them to stand down and even assist the hostages. If we can, we would significantly cripple their leader's forces. And even if it fails, it would allow me to act as a decoy-- giving you all time to move in. But if there is a chance those Digimon are just trying to speak up for themselves, we have to try and appeal to them there is a better way. "
He hoped he had the support of his fellow NEXUS members on this, but he turned to Tiger, Denryu, and the others he didn't know-- his eyes full of earnest resolve. "Agent Tiger, please let me do it! If there is a way for us to make some of them see reason, we got to try. You can tell me whatever you want to help me understand their motives, but I believe this can work. But putting you out there might cause more resentment." he asked-- his smugness gone from before...
Notes: Team now has access to area map via Digivice Synchro's Digital Positioning system for a 3-D radar map. Further, Zachary requests the permission to be the one to approach the group and try to negotiate with the enemy forces, to make some appeal. At best, win over some Digimon to stand down-- at worst, act as a decoy for the others to get into position.

Things looked bad indeed and then Zachary said something that made Blitzwolfmon uneasy. It wasn't because he doubted his diplomatic abilities but more along the lines of humans are squishy compared to digimon. Turning in the direction of the young man, Blitzwolfmon said "I agree with trying to negotiate with this Arachnemon and I agree it should be someone she doesn't know. However I think I should talk to her. No offense but humans are fragile compared to digimon and if something goes wrong I would rather not have you in the line of fire."
She wondered if Agent Tiger would let her try. Blitzwolfmon was beginning to get the feeling she heard the name before and looking back it came to her. How could she have forgotten this important information. Counting it up as a side effect of multiple years of seizures, she looked at Agent Tiger and said "You wouldn't happen to know a woman by the name of Emiko, would you? When I met you she mentioned an Agent Tiger. If you are the one she mentioned I feel bad for my suspicions of you earlier."

In short, they were left with two options: have Tiger play the decoy, or have their current stealthed Digimon provide a moment of advantage as the rest of the group blitzed in from the front. Both had their considerable risks, and both suited the strengths and weaknesses of each member of the party in different ways.
"Watch and wait, huh?" It seemed that Cion and Viktor were coming to terms with a sort of strategy, and Tiger quickly wrapped up a question regarding the potential of using the underground tunnel network. There was potential, but there was no guarantee that a useful route could be found. Still, it was something to keep in mind as a potential escape route. Agent Tiger also seemed to think that the first idea had some merit - though as Zachary spoke up, offering to take the helm, Denryu gave a sigh.
"Angel. Regardless of which one we pick, your role is going to be the same. Stay invisible, keep a position behind the hostages. Be ready to jump into the middle of the group and act as a Taomon, if things get hairy."
"Understood." Angel whispered back through her comms, before Denryu addressed the group again.
Particularly, he pushed to dissuade a bit of Zachary's confidence. Denryu stepped forward, and rested his hand on Zachary's shoulder from behind. "I get it. You want to take everything on your own shoulders. Push through, and fix everything. But take a step back: to them, you're just another human, with a human-made group, trying to press your ideas on the Digital World. I know you mean to help, but they won't listen to your words, Zachary."
... He sighed. "Trust me. I've tried."
"Hmph." Demon snorted, the Devidramon growing a bit restless, barely even able to stretch his wings from inside this car. "Don't grow soft on me, General."
"I've no intention of that. As it stands," Denryu nodded to Tiger, "Its narrow, but I believe that Tiger's presence will provide us the opening we need. I only really have one thing to add: let's make this just a bit safer. While you're negotiating with them... let's see..."
"... If you work the word 'Tape' into your words, we'll move to defend you. And if you specifically say 'Over The Line', regardless of the context, we'll attack. How does that sound?"
Well, presuming he wasn't outvoted, anyway.
