[DATS Plot] Shibuya Station [A]: Backroute Strike

This was always the worst part of any mission... the silence. The calm before the storm. Viktor knew all too well that in these kinds of scenarios; things rarely stayed silent, but the dead air was enough to make him hyper aware of everything. Most would overthink or let their mind wonder, which would prove to be detrimental to an operation when their roles came. But the human-turned-fox was a master in the art of sitting in one spot for hours. He didn't talk, he didn't hum, he didn't entertain himself. He simply sat and watched in the darkness with Cion for their next move. Viktor finally spoke as he could see some of their party talking among themselves,
"Talkative bunch, eh?"
He suggested to Cion before returning to his statue-like postion on the wall, waiting for the engagement! When Viktor worked as an assassin, he would sit in one spot for days on end. This was nothing, he could easily handle it.
Genesis, on the other hand, was going stir-crazy. Being cooped up in the Trailmon was no fun while Viktor was playing ninja out in the subway. She could only palm her phone and flip through a social media page while she waited. She took a silent duty of taking on any medical assistance if it was needed, considering her experience and training as a medic! Perhaps she should find some game to play while she waited impatiently!
Time would only tell what the first initial contact group would do. Their competence was only as good as their experience, while they were talking a bit too much for a group that was supposed to be infiltrating, they at least hadn't been seen yet. As far as he knew, they were undetected.
Viktor just hoped it would stay that way.

What perpetually was a firm expression of focus and professionalism briefly gave way to delighted smirk and a hushed chuckle. Cion was content with the minor yet sufficient strategy she had formulated with Viktor in case every other plan failed and their allies required an outstanding backline to support them. Hence there was indeed no need to talk. Any distraction and levity during their current situation could be detrimental anyway. Nonetheless, the small comment that was voiced amused her, for it was true. Conciseness was truly not a strength of the people discussing further steps. "Verily..."
Ultimately, the silver fennec decided to not interfere in the discussion between the agent, her pupil and her former adversary. In the end, this whole affair was not even about digimons, but mankind's influence upon them. Therefor, it seemed best to let the humans decide how to proceed. Nevertheless, she started to deeply contemplate the conflict at hand. It was difficult for her to believe that DATS alone was responsible for the tension. There were always at least parties in a clash. And were frankly ridiculous reasons, such as them helping restore peace to the digital realm, their sincere justification for terrorism? No... this just did not add up.

Sitting in silence, John watched them talk about the plan, mulling over the options. On the one hand, Agent Tiger's plans where sound, she seemed to know who one of them is so her volunteering to step forward for the first plan could work. On the other hand, Zaber's wish to speak with them was something that he supported, even if it was most likely not going to work he wanted them to at least try.
While John was trying to decide what plan he was supporting, Runa looked at the 3D map, studying it thoroughly, she wanted to try and decide which ones she would most likely be able to handle, but the more she looked, the more she grew worried. Deciding to stop, she throw her 2 cents into what she thought about the plans. "I think Tiger should be the one who walks forward, no offence Zaber, but I really doubt that they'll listen to what you have to say."

Agent Tiger looked at Zaber as he provided a scanned map of the surroundings of Shibuya station, including all of the maintenance tunnels that led to the destination that they wanted. She was surprised at first, but was grateful for the data. "I see. There seems to be a passage that leads from the main rail tunnel to near the elevator. If we approach from that direction, then we'll certainly take them by surprise."
Then Zaber proceeded to offer himself to negotiate instead. Tiger was so flabbergasted that she couldn't find the words to object to this before he explained himself. So, his reasoning was that he thought that he, on behalf of this group called "Nexus" could negotiate as a neutral party or so. Well, his heart was in the right place, but ultimately, she shook her head.
Denryu put forth the point about as well as she could've made. They wouldn't listen to someone they thought was "just some guy".
"Sorry, Zaber, I can't agree to that." she answered. "They're here to challenge us and our authority. We've got the backings from the Japanese Government. No offense, but, as this stands from their point of view, you're just some guy with a partner. If you go out there, all they'll do is scoff at you and demand to talk to me. And you wouldn't have a chance at going against them, they'll be on their guard the whole time."
Tiger then turned to BlitzWolfmon. "Hm. I've met a lot of people named Emiko, you'll have to jog my memory." she answered.
She then turned to Denryu, who offered some backup for her plan A, which they seemed to be going along with. "Alright. I'll remember that." she said, realizing that this meant that she would be on the frontline here. But, for the most part, she didn't care. She was willing to do what she could to prevent others being held hostage by the forces of the digital world and end up going missing, like her son.
Given the lack of objections from the others about the plan, as well as John agreeing with Denryu, it seemed unanimous that the plan they would go with was for Tiger to speak with them first. "Very well, I'll do my best to keep their attention on me, and keep hostilities to the minimum." she said. Even though this would likely mean that they would try to add her and Jiro to the hostages, well, she would just have to be careful about her timing with the key points she had to make.
"Actually, with these passages, Zaber, this improves upon the plan considerably." she informed the young man. "If I were to emerge from one of the passages, rather than the railway tunnel, that reduces the probability they'll be looking in that direction. In fact, I'd tell them that I made my way there from the surface, so they'd have their backs turned to the rail tunnel on your arrival."
Still, either way, ideally the best route of escape for the hostages was via the tunnel platform in her view. "Trailmon, if you were to arrive at the platform to pick up the hostages with assistance, how long would it take for you to arrive, pick them up and leave?"
"One to two minutes, as long as you keep the Ultimate levels off me." the Trailmon answered. With that, Tiger turned to the rest of the group.
"Alright. If we're all agreed upon this, I'll be on my way." she said. And if there were no objections, she would keep them notified and connected as she and Jiro made their way through the tunnels to the Shibuya Trailmon platform to speak with the enemy digimon.

Zachary's heart was in the right place, but the ruling group made the right call and Zachary acknowledged it. "I understand..." Zachary sighed, but was glad to know his map from the D-Sync actually paid off. Perhaps it was his viewpoint as an American and the belief of tolerance. It was the logic of cooperation and coexistence that helped form NEXUS. He was the kind that would discard law and order of it meant doing the 'right thing'. The disappointment and concern was clear on his face as Tiger addressed this, but the fact was clear. "I'm sorry. I overstepped, but I just hope to see if they could be reasoned with. If things turned out badly, I promise you can count on me. " he said and backed off on the idea.
Panthermon mentally sighed with relief, even though he was now directly under the platform of the station. He knew all too well that Zachary was someone who followed his heart all too often, and it often made him vulnerable. It was often his job to be the voice of reason in his conscious and to protect him when his good nature got him into trouble. He was literally born from the notions of how those who hurt him took advantage of his good nature.
Either way, the D-Sync proved more helpful with the use of the map they could use to get the jump on them. He was genuinely surprised about how that helped them.
"YEP! The Holo Positioning System worked wonders!" Datamon's voice came up over the D-Sync's communicator, even for the others to hear. "Sometimes my genius even impresses myself." the Datamon boasted.
For the love of Yggdrasil, shut up that walking scrap-pile... Panthermon growled in Zachary's thoughts, and Zachary too rolled his eyes at the machine's boasting.
But they were ready. Tiger would use the tunnels to proceed and the others would be ready to charge in. Even better-- with Panthermon hidden in wait, he could help Tiger for added back up, along with the other Digimon scouting with him.
Zachary agreed to the plan with a nod of his head and got ready for the events to come.

The plan was settled.
Demon found himself giving a snort. Though his partner might have been part of the reason this was dragged out, honestly, the Devidramon agreed with Cion and Viktor: this was getting dragged out, and he was itching to get into the fight. Plus, the longer they waited, the more it became likely that Angel would be found out by accident - or, more likely, that the bad mons would start to turn on the hostages.
With the code words settled, Denryu did one last bit of preparation, flipping through a deck of D-Arc cards to pick a few defensive ones to suit the situation. Until then?
They were on standby.

So Agent Tiger knew more than one Emiko. Blitzwolfmon resisted the urge to smack herself for not being more specific. She then supposed this was just another thing she could chalk up to stress. Deciding to specify, Blitzwolfmon said "The Emiko I'm talking about is with AEGIS. She mentioned something about a DATS agent called Agent Tiger and I forgot about it until recently. So sorry for coming off as a suspicious jerk."
Though Blitzwolfmon didn't agree with a human being stuck in the potential crossfire she supposed that there was no way to convince her otherwise. Now she had to focus on how to free the hostages and, like it or not, deal with the aftermath later. "I can assist Trailmon with the hostages if none of you mind since speed would only be advantageous for me for so long. If the ones that can reach ultimate can keep the ultimate level threats busy this would be much easier."

Well... there really was not anything that needed to be said and done left, right? Everybody knew their abilities and purpose for this endeavor, and all they had to do was act in accordance with them. For Cion, this meant whole lot of twirling her thumbs while waiting for the captives to arrive.
Securing them with her defensive and disruptive techniques was likely going to be easy, especially with Viktor stepping forward and giving any intruder a fine thrashing. Moreover, with the Trailmon by their side, they had the advantage. Their participation was naturally based on the success of the other group, or rather failure. Hence she remained vigilant, confident that not every part of their plan was destined to succeed.
Oh if only she was not bound to the severely limited power of an Ultimate. Alas, those were the circumstances. She simply had to adapt herself around them. Fortunately, adaptability was one of her fortes.

It seemed that all was settled. Blitzwolfmon explained that the Emiko she was referring to was with AEGIS. Tiger raised an eyebrow, she had heard of an Emiko James, but hadn't met her yet. Well, she supposed that would be something for another time.
Tiger and Jiro made their way through the revealed tunnels to the Trailmon platform. Some of them were a challenge, given some of them had become derelict, but, they managed to force their way through, and eventually, they made it out of them to the platform.
"Arachnemon, we're here." she said as she and Jiro emerged from the maintenance door. Their arrival caused much shock, all attention turning to them. Gun barrels and more were turned to them, but they were quickly called off.
"Lower your weapons!" Arachnemon ordered, and this was heeded, but all digimon still stared at them. They sneered with delight to see that Jiro was still in his Rookie form, and it seemed that this DATS agent was simply giving herself up. Arachnemon, meanwhile, was more unsettled. "So, you showed up after all, DATS Agent Tiger. Although not via the route I would have thought. What's the idea here?"
Agent Tiger looked up at her, trying to keep calm, but knowing that she was indeed damn vulnerable here. "The idea is that you tell me what exactly it is you want here so that we can end this peacefully." she answered. "You and your comrades have managed to capture a major human world infrastructure station and secured hostages. Congratulations. Now I believe you indicated your next goal was to have a public duel with DATS, correct? Well, we could have that down here, but it might take us some time to set up the cameras."
Arachnemon was momentarily speechless. It seemed clear that this was not playing out as she had wished. It had been her idea to have the battles take place on the surface levels while her reserves were held down here. Her face grew more unsettled and she pointed at the hostages. "Don't you try anything funny, Tiger, or else..."
"Or else you'll murder innocent hostages?" Tiger replied, trying her best to maintain her composure in return. "You do know what will happen if you do that, don't you? You have no idea what a full-scale human invasion of the digital world would entail, right? You do that, you give us the perfect justification to do so. You claim to represent the best interests of the digital world, yet, the only path forward for you here is to ruin for you and your kind."
"Y-you shut your mouth!" Arachnemon snarled, and with this aggression, the other digimon raised their weapons again. Jiro flinched, but Tiger patted his head for him to remain calm.
"You think I fear death by your hands, digimon?" Tiger asked. "Please. When my fellow agents check the tapes, you'll quickly find out that you've bitten off more than you can chew. And believe me, all-out war with DATS is the last thing you want. We know ways to kill you without letting you be reborn. So I suggest you cool off for a little and see reason here."
Tiger hoped that the others were paying attention here. For a second time, the digimon put away their weapons, all of them taking her words seriously. While they did hate DATS enough to want to be here to enact the plan of revenge against them, none of them were willing to put their semi-immortal lives on the line to test this.
"Alright, good." Tiger said, keeping her eyes on Arachnemon. "What are your terms for ending this situation with this station?"
"That DATS completely disarms, admits to its crimes, and allows digimon free reign in the human world." Arachnemon replied. To this, Agent Tiger gave a small sigh, realizing that negotiations like this was completely hopeless, and remembered the code for the operation to continue.
"Well, to me, those terms seem to be a little... over the line, but, I will consult with my superiors if that is the case." she said, giving the signal for the arrival of the others to enact their plan to rescue the hostages.
Because of the meticulous planning they had established beforehand, their arrival at the platform would be completely by surprise, giving the maximum amount of probability of success, just as long as they took advantage of their initiative. As long as they engaged the enemy digimon, drew away their attention from the hostages and the Trailmon, and caused the maximum amount of shock and distraction, they would most likely be successful.

All they could do was wait.
Wait, and carefully listen to Tiger's words. The context of what she was saying, though interesting, was less important than two specific phrases. 'Tape' meant to move in front of the DATS agent to defend her, and 'Over the line' meant to attack and protect the hostages. That said, the General was impressed by just how shrewd the agent was being, even getting them to temporarily lower their weapons before giving the order.
From the safety of the train, Denryu would give the signal to Angel: "You heard her. Hostages come first." With that buzz in her ear, the still-hidden Renamon would dash forward - and if she could, would simply slip right through the crowd of hostages, breaking her invisibility right in the middle. Her form temporarily reduced to rookie, one ball of light returning right towards the train, and another landing next to Angel, forming into that of a Reppamon.
Might have this caused a panic? Sure - but Angel hoped to act before even the hostages realized that she was there. The now unarmed fox would hold her palms together, the light of Digivolution letting her quickly take the form of a Taomon - and, focusing on nothing more than defense, she'd surround herself, and the hostages, in a giant, spherical bubble-shield.
Angel remained tense and focused - but as for Guru, the Reppamon? In a rare display, he shook the mask off of his head, the gentle smile of the weasel's head looking to the nearest onlooker.
"Stay calm. My friend here will keep you safe." His voice was warm and welcoming, as could be expected of the Xros Team's therapy expert. "Even if this all looks like crazy bullshit... well, Tiger and the rest of us know you shouldn't have been dragged into this."
"Thank you, Guru." Angel grit her teeth.
On the front end, however, things would be much different. Behind the scenes, Denryu would silently swipe a card - Pax Barrier - which increased Angel's defensive capabilities, at the cost of decreasing her offensive power. The Devidramon, Demon, took on a much different appearance: adorned with a cybernetic helmet and metallic wings, the beast stomped on down the hall, eying the targets in front of him. His tamer stepped out behind him, and merely pointed to the Arachnemon.
"Maim."
A simple, direct order - and Demon reveled in it. The brute dug a claw into the ground, and poised himself to attack - but that was a ruse. A trick, to force as many of the oncoming combatants to look towards the Devidramon. The visor would open a moment later, the bright light of his several crimson eyes pulsing outward.
Anyone that looked straight at them would feel a chill down their spines - and anyone weaker than champion would be locked right in place. Angel attempts to slip into the hostages, and switches from her Xros'd form to Taomon. Xros component Kokuwamon returns to the train, while Reppamon remains to comfort the hostages.
Angel uses 'Talisman Spell' to create a barrier around herself and the hostages. It is fortified by the effect of Pax Barrier.
Demon approaches from the front as an X-3, "Adamant Demon". He poises himself to charge as a feint, and uses 'Crimson Glare' on anyone who made the mistake of looking at him.Talisman Spell Duration: 1/2 Pax Barrier Duration: 1/3 Crimson Glare CD: 0/1 VB-25 Card Name: Pax Barrier Type: Modify Rank: Silver Duration: 3 Posts Effect: The target Digimon is bathed in holy light, shimmering with a force that repels violence. For three turns their defense increases, but their attack power decreases.
Crimson Glare Devidramon's eyes glow a fierce red. Those who make eye contact, rookie or below, are locked in place for one post. One post cooldown
Talisman Spell Taomon creates a bubble around herself, also able to hold up to two allies. This 'bubble' acts as a shield, able to block an ultimate level attack before cracking (and mitigate higher level attacks, as appropriate). Two post duration, Three Post Cooldown
Post by Zachary "Zaber" Scryer on Aug 17, 2020 14:28:04 GMT
The time had come. Though Zachary had hoped to try and be a source of peace in this powderkeg situation, he knew that Tiger's priority was the safety of the hostages. He done what he could. But even so, now he disagreed with DATS policy and reasoning, as what the spider Digimon was so trying to argue. In a way, he could sympathize a bit with the other Digimon. DATS totalitarian policies would make enemies of anyone who desired freedom.
But lives came first, in this case, the hostages.
"Panthermon, are you in position?" Zachary whispered in general.
The jungle cat Digimon heard him via their telepathy and he responded. Yes.
Both he and Angel had the same idea in mind at the given word-- Panthermon slipped in while invisible, near the hostages. He gave a soft whisper to one, telling em not to panic or react that they were there to help them. And when that last keyword took place, all hell broke loose...
Denryu was brutal with his offense as he tore into the first enemy not with his fox-- but with other Digimon he conjured. He was a XROS user, which made things interesting. As Panthermon appeared beside the hostages with "Angel", he spoke to them. "We are here to help you. Hurry, follow the Taomon and we will get you to safety with the Trailmon," he said softly to the hostages after they got over the shock of seeing the talking jungle cat.
Zachary had made it through the tunnel, and now in view of the platform. Looking to his fellow teammates, he took out his D-Synchro and raised up a card. A blue card. "Time to get serious. Panthermon!" he called out, and brought the card to the 'camera reader' that replaced a D-Power's card reader. He swiped the blue card in a crossing, wide-arch that scanned the card via a laser grid. "Digi-Modify! Matrix Digivolution!!"
The sudden surge made Panthermon growl ferally as a ball of violet light surrounded and consumed him. "Panthermon -- Matrix Digivolve to... " The violet light sparked, fritzed and surged with energy as the new shape formed inside, creating a shadow of its new shape as it grew. Finally, within a couple of seconds, the form solidified and the shell of violent energy shattered like glass. In its place was a large, anthro-black jaguar creature dressed in south-American shaman clothing of a loincloth, wrist and anklet accessories, feathers and adornments-- boasting the look of a royal shaman to the aztecs. "... Jaguamon!!"
The man-jaguar Digimon emerged with claws extended from his paws, ready to fight as he eyed the first targets he likely would have to contend with. While Angel would protect the others, he was able to at least keep attention to two of the enemy forces: Makuramon & Valvemon.
"This is your only warning. Leave this place and return to the Digital World. I have no love for DATS either, but threatening the lives of these tamers will do you no good. " Panthermon voiced to his foes. "If you insist to fight, be warned, I shall show no mercy to those that threaten innocent lives." The cat warned, showing his claws and ready to charge.
Jaguamon was strategically positioned between both Angel and the hostages and the two ultimates who were there. He knew that a fight would be imminent, but he gave one last warning to stop an unnecessary fight.
With Jaguamon now engaging the enemy forces, Zachary quickly caught up and waited to see the Trailmon show up. He hid under the platform-- rather below its edge so he could see what was going on, but duck if he needed cover. He had a clear view of his partner and the two foes he chooses to engage in. With luck, the others would back him up.
Notes: Panthermon joins angel to guard the hostages. With them protected by Angel, he was free to target and focus on the ultimates in the group. Zachary Matrix Digivolved Panthermon into Jaguamon and he gives a warning to Makuramon and Valvemon to stand down, or he would attack. However, he is positioned to protect both the hostages and attack as well.
Zachary joins the fight, hiding behind the train platform to see the fight but easy to duck for cover.

Blitzwofmon made her move seeing that the hostages had some protection so all she had to do was keep an eye out for Agent Tiger while carefully choosing her target. Noticing that Makuramon held an orb of some kind caused a mischievous smirk to appear on her face as she dashed forward and grabbed ahold of the orb as she said "Yoink!" As she bolted off with the orb on her swift feet she yelled "Come on and get it monkey boy. Teaches you a lesson for not being aware of your whole enviroment." Figuring her speed would make her enough of a menace she could provide enough of a diversion while stronger digimon dealt with the other ultimate digimon. At least Blitzwolfmon was staying out of the way of the hostage rescue though she wasn't acting like the muscle in a predictable sense but, as the spirit wielder knew, if you were predictable your odds of victory were lower. Despite her improvised game of keep away she was alert to everything around her.

The storm had arrived after what seemed like a lifetime of shallow breaths and edged nerves. Tiger had finally made a move to the enemy. Viktor was surprised she took a more direct approach, the DATS agent sought to explain how fruitless a fight would be against her. Viktor was actually impressed how well she held her nerve. Standing against an enemy that very much out gunned her. He chuckled and crossed his arms,
”This should be interesting.” he said to himself as he watched everything sort of fall into motion. The other Renamon zipped across the station and surrounded herself in the hostages, then created a bubble for protection after taking the form of Taomon. The fox examined her moves as best he could and picked up his weapon, gauging his next course of action. He narrowed his eyes to Cion as the others began moving and nodded to the silver fennec, then slowly moved himself to attack any hostage taker that dared get too close to their exit route. The Fox took a stance behind whatever cover he could to keep himself hidden for now. He would wait for the opportune moment to strike. From behind.
Genesis stood up from her seat as she heard the commotion, glancing back at what she could see from the train. She sighed and began using what first aid supplies she had to set up a makeshift triage as she waited with baited breath. So far it was a clean cut operation. But if she knew one thing about hostages situations.
That cut got dirtier and dirtier the longer it went on.

Interesting? Well, this was certainly one of the innumerable ways to put it. While otherwise trusting the agent's judgment, Cion believed that indirectly imitating her previous, reckless attitude towards a hostage situation was unwise. Tiger's threats however were without doubt grave, and it made her wonder if DATS actually possessed a means to defragment a digimon permanently. If they did, then that was likewise alarming and intriguing.
Nonetheless, the planned ruse was executed and the frontline was filled by their ranks. She and Viktor meanwhile remained behind, assuring the safe retrieval of hopefully all innocent victims of this madness. Watching his back as discussed earlier, they kept in the shadows and waited for the absolute best opportunity to strike. Nodding in return, she leaned forward and whispered into his ear. "Just give me a signal, then I can turn any small area into an instantaneous snare trap." The silver fennec clarified, recognizing that her partner likely intended to take out a few terrorists as well if possible.

In one of the more rare events in history, the initial plan went off as decided. Thanks to the meticulous planning of the group as a whole, and, probably due to the lack of planning of the enemy, they managed to pull off their maneuver.
In the seconds that followed Agent Tiger's password, events carried out far too quickly for any of them, ally or enemy to take notice of. Tiger's ally digimon erupted into the station while Arachnemon's group were totally unprepared. Some initially turned their attention to the hostages, but held back, both from the sheer rapidness of their deployment, and from the threatening words of the DATS Agent.
Next, it was to the horror of the enemy digimon that they realized in fact they could not act even if they wanted to. Taomon's shield barred any interference they could have made in those crucial few seconds as the Battle Armament Trailmon roared into the station, providing covering fire that diverted their attention further. Yes he fired his bullets harmlessly into the ceiling, but it was the combined effort that made all the difference.
It was not only the arrival of the combined force that helped here, that they immediately attacked the enemy also caught them unawares. Arachnemon turned her attention toward the Devidramon. And Tiger took this moment for her advantage.
"Digisoul... full charge!" she cried, teal lights flashing over her body, before she directed it into her digivice and shot it at Jiro.
"Dracomon... warp digivolve to...!" Jiro transformed at once, the Dracomon-X growing four times in height from 4 to 16 feet, his jade scales turning blue, as orbs formed in his claws, and a javelin complete with launcher formed between his fully grown wings. "...Wingdramon!"
While this was happening, the attention of the other digimon were drawn toward the other arrivals. Valvemon turned to face the newly arrived Jaguarmon, registering his threat level immediately. Makuramon meanwhile had his attention diverted by BlitzWolfmon when she snatched his orb and somehow declared that a triumph.
"I have other attacks, you fool!" he snapped in reply, raising his other hand, which momentarily glowed red. "InfraPrism Laser!" he snarled, and shot a red blast of light at the spirit user.
This last left Viktor and Cion in reserve. Knowing the mission, Jiro, now newly evolved as a Wingdramon, positioned himself between the enemy and the hostages, adding to the defense that Angel provided.
"Now! Get into the Trailmon!" he ordered. Thankfully the hostages were confident enough in their backup that they obeyed, the six tamers and their partners boarding the open doors.
"Cover their departure!" Agent Tiger ordered. "Don't let them strike the Trailmon!"
Jiro complied by flying to Arachnemon directly and landed in front of her. However, he did not land an offensive attack yet. The aim was to get them to stand down peacefully here, although Blitzwolfmon going that extra bit to provoke Makuramon had been a little unhelpful in that regard.
"Trust me, your best move is to surrender here." he told her.
"Let me guess, you'll kill us anyway?" Arachnemon retorted, venomously. "Because trust me, if we go down that path, I'll take the lot of you bastards down with me."
"Easy now..." Jiro replied. "We haven't reached that stage yet. Take a few deep breaths now..."
"...nobody strike the Trailmon!" Arachnemon ordered. And thankfully there was enough battlefield presence of the opposition that they obeyed her. The Trailmon quickly evacuated the station, leaving nobody left but the combatants. "Alright, DATS agent, I've been reasonable here. It's just you and us now, and we've spared the hostages. So, let's talk."
Agent Tiger would have to look to the rest of them to assure that. So far, only Makuramon had been provoked to combat. However, if he could be stood down, that would open negotiations. Preferably they wouldn't kill him, but, given he had launched an attack on one of their party, he'd need some extra convincing to back down from that.
Thanks to the combined efforts of everyone, the hostages have been rescued and evacuated.
Makuramon was provoked into using InfraPrism Laser on BlitzWolfmon.
InfraPrism Laser: Makuramon aims his open hand at an opponent, then fires a blast of crimson energy at them, causing heat damage. [No cooldown].
The other digimon raise their weapons, but do not attack because they have not yet reached that level of provocation relevant to the situation.
Overall tension remains high, but not to the level of general combat. The enemy digimon are nervous, but still open to discussion, now that they have been outplayed by having the hostages removed.
