[DATS Plot] Shibuya Station [A]: Backroute Strike

Often times after a fight, the silence was louder than the combat itself. This was punctuated by the echoing 'ding' of the elevator that resounded throughout the group... it stopped all conversations as the doors opened and revealed nine men who moved tactically through the subway. Viktor watched as they cleared their corners and assumed a wedge formation, then blew through to the center, the assassin knew this as a standard forward firing position.. With the expectation of a VIP behind the lead shooter. Genesis keyed her radio, unable to see the events unfolding;
"Viktor... what's going on? Who arrived on that elevator? More civilians?" she asked, staying out of sight from DATS Response Force.
Viktor gave a soft sigh as he watched them with interest, "Eight men, moved into the center of the Subway and are talking with Tiger. Maybe JSDF? Maybe DATS Spec Ops. FAST Helmets with Night vision. Definitely an elite unit... I don't recognize their weapons-"
His transmission was cut short by the effects of the Riot Squad's discharging their weapons, showing the full effects of the wedge formation. This, in turn, reduced the terrorist to egg-like state. Viktor blinked and kept to the shadows, trying to comprehend what he just witnessed; "Change of plans. DATS has new toys, just axed the lead terrorist."
He waited and watched, if the Makuramon ran backwards to him, the terrorist would find a Taomon aggressively ambushing it and either striking to kill, or send it back to DATS. The same applied to all who attempted to run in his direction. They could not reason with him, they could not change his mind. They made their bed, now they were to sleep in it.
Truth of the matter was that Viktor agreed with DATS on this subject. Theses were enemies of the state and should be treated as such; No concessions, no deals. Kill them where they stand and let them be an example to others that would try what they attempted. Furthermore, hearing his "allies" speak to the director proved his initial thoughts correct; that they were little more than naïve children that didn't understand how the world worked... no doubt the Director here was being pressured by a legitimate government to act personally. But the director's presences was very telling, more than DATS was likely wanting to admit.
It meant that the Director didn't trust his agents.
Genesis would reach into her bag and produce a small, encrypted radio, then change wait for the frequency of the DATS dispatcher, or the Director;
"Any station this net, this is callsign Viper 0-0, requesting check fire on the Taomon. The uh, the Digimon with the bamboo hat. He's with me and he will assist as needed." she said, holding the radio out and hoping a reply would come in some form! Hopefully, they would understand and not fire on the fox. He was, afterall, helping them!

All of these positive aspects that she had just generally associated with most humans, if not the their entire species, thanks to Tiger? Yeah, those claims had suddenly become easy to dismiss. Perhaps her kind's savagery was not their own fault, but merely another aspect of mankind which had molded their realm and inhabitants into what they were today. What was the digital world but a fantastical reflection of Earth's chaos? Sighing quietly and in disappointment that their carefully planned approach was undermined by the acting commander of DATS, she observed the escalating situation from the shadows alongside her current partner.
And what a short-sighted mess of seeping pride it was. Though certainly impressed by the soldier's ultramodern weaponry, which was actually capable of harming a digimon, it appeared that the remaining terrorists were willing to throw their lives away. Had the example of their leader not sufficed to make them stand down? Such emotional acts seldom yielded fruit. Unfortunately, aside from Viktor who only contacted his headquarters, her allies did not fare any better. She did not question the three group's benignity, although Denryu's was suspect for obvious reasons, but their judgment. Apparently, it was impaired due to bonhomie.
Finding it hard to believe that the fair-haired boy was in some way operating for the government of a state, and not knowing what to think of the otherwise quiet Blitzwolfmon, her aureate eyes shifted towards the two individuals she considered cherished friends - Zaber and Panthermon. Had they not learned anything from her council? Sure, it had been rare moments, but she had always advocated focus, composure, poise and applied logic - not releases of emotions. Did they not grasp that they were not solely putting themselves at risk, but everything they had accomplished and created as of yet? Adherence to principles was too often detrimental...
As for the dismissed agent, she too was at a loss. Had this undertaking partially failed because of outside interference? Yes, that was true, but their primary objective was a relative success. The hostages were in safety, regardless of the director's pervicacious point of view. An armed train was practically a safe haven compared to many other locations. Was the elimination of their enemies still acceptable? That was something that historians and philosophers would have to debate, if this piece of history was not lost and forgotten.
Cion however intended not to deliberate, but act. Self-abandonment never ceased to be a chagrin, but this time there was no choice as she wished for peace among worlds.
Nudging Viktor's shoulders, she nodded before traversing the darkness for a few seconds as every faction was locked in a practical staring contest. If nothing else, though confident that the agency was aware of her presence and position, she did not wish to divulge her vulpine companion's location. Turning a corner and a couple of column supports, she quickly arrived somewhere in between the opposing sides. Carrying an apologetic expression directed at her former associates, she sighed and turned around to face the primed squad.
Smiling winningly with her paws folded in front of her tummy, expecting guns aimed at her, she kept her professional demeanor nonetheless. She was not afraid. No... this was the opportunity of her current life, and she seized it courageously and without hesitation. "I of course comply with your order to power down, meyser. Nevertheless, given that I am currently in contractual service with your organization via your assigned agent, I gladly lend myself to you and your men instead - If you wish. I can provide plenty of protection that does not require you to expend further resources."
A selfless appeal to honor, loyalty, civility and efficiency? If this did not work, then nothing would. Maybe it was officiously verbose and dripping with submission, but that was the precisely the idea. Ideas were more potent than people imagined. The silver fennec herself had... endured this lesson not too long ago.

John and Runa took in quite a lot from this mission, their first shock was finding out of the existence of something that could permanently kill a digimon, the two of them sharing a worried glance at this info. As the rescuing of the hostages underwent, John and Runa didn’t know what to do, seeing as everyone else was handling this well enough.
With the hostages safe, the situation seemed to have calmed down, even leading to a reasonable de-digivolving by both sides, although for them, they didn’t need to do anything. Suddenly, many armed solders exited an elevator, and in no time at all ruined the negotiations, John was surprised at this sudden change, while Runa was angered by this man who just waltzed into this operation and took over when there was no need for it, plus she didn’t appreciate his attitude towards her home world.
The chaos that ensued was frightening to John, the director attacked so suddenly, he didn’t know how to react, fortunately his partner was ready to act. She had hoped in front of John, her tail bristling with anger towards this interference. “John, digivolve me!” She said, snapping him out of his shock. “But he said-” “I don’t care, these morons are causing more harm then good, and I’m gonna help put a stop to this!”
Runa’s interruption made John pause, and for a moment he looked at the guns, then back to her, nodding as he took out his digivice. “Okay, let’s do this!” his digivice glows, causing his partner to do the same. “Viximon, Digivolve to, Renamon”
With her in rookie form, the two of them figure out a plan. John glances at Zaber, figuring he has protecting the other digimon under control, he then looks back to the soldiers. “I don't see any opening, we should wait and see how this plays out, see if there's anything that we can do." They sit back and watch, waiting for the right time to act.

The first action in this situation was Denryu. To Agent Tiger’s surprise, Director Suzuki seemed to widen his eyes with shock as Denryu invoked the UK government in all this, and summoned forth further digimon to fight at his side. Of course, Denryu was an Xros General, he had this capability. Ordinarily Tiger would have informed Suzuki of this, but she was so outraged at his interference in this situation that she felt more comfortable to let him handle it.
Meanwhile the gears were turning in Suzuki’s mind. Was Denryu truly an agent of the United Kingdom? If he was, then that would mean that the British were weaponizing digimon, in very much the same way that the Japanese government had expressly forbidden. No, this didn’t make full sense, yet… if he acted foolishly here, he could create an international incident. At the very least, Denryu had given them some time to work things out.
Then Denryu said that he would soon be creating a portal to the digital world. At first, Agent Tiger thought that would be the most ideal way of de-escalating this situation, but… she noticed something in the vicinity. An after-effect of the Director’s T/S bomb that had been used as a shield to deflect from Makuramon’s attack. Green-yellow sparks were shooting across the walls, roof and floor of the Trailmon platform. It made her shiver with a sensation on the back of her head, and made Jiro glance about nervously.
“Agent Tiger, this doesn’t look good.” he said. Tiger quite agreed. But there were many more in the room that had yet to act before she could determine what to say.
Director Suzuki’s eyes then turned to Zachary, who claimed he was an idiot only making things worse. His eyes seemed to gleam at the challenge. “And in what way am I making this worse? So far I have ordered the elimination of a dangerous terrorist, and I’m quite willing to do the same to the rest of the monsters she had under her command…”
The digimon allied to Arachnemon would have probably acted with anger in this, had they not seen what DATS was capable of, and with Jiro the Wingdramon interposing himself in front of their efforts to attack him directly, they saw little options open to them.
“Him though…!” Makuramon pointed to Suzuki. “He’s a murderer! He ordered his soldiers to erase Arachnemon!”
“As much as she would have deserved it, no I haven’t.” Suzuki replied. “She has merely reverted to her least threatening form – a digiegg. And if you would grant us a chance in not being so hysterical, we would gladly allow her to return to your… “Village of Beginnings”. With of course a few modifications to her data that would not allow her to threaten us again.”
Director Suzuki watched amusedly as one of the “tamers” present set up a barrier with a card. In response, he merely pointed to it, asking Zachary directly “That is only temporary, is it not?”
Still though, Agent Tiger knew that it was a play for time, for the portal to fully form and for the digimon to make their escape away from her superior’s intentions. Still though… more and more sparks danced around the edges of the platform. It increased her apprehension even further.
BlitzWolfmon thankfully held station for the moment. As for Viktor, he was able to make communication with the DATS central command, and they sent through a signal that the Taomon was on their side. The Riot Squad, Agent Tiger and Director Suzuki received this information, which came in the nick of time in case it came to combat.
Cion then made her move, which was to… surrender and comply as directed. Tiger and Jiro understood at once, this action further delayed for time. And they were both grateful for this, as even Director Suzuki seemed confused by this. It seemed he had hoped to arrive, gun down every digimon other than Jiro present, and go home claiming a triumph. But this group was making such an undertaking difficult for that goal.
“Well… very good.” Suzuki replied, regaining some of his confidence. “Assist us in rounding up these digimon for questioning and… for god sake, stop whatever it is that portal is doing!”
It was by now noticeable by everyone present that Denryu’s portal activating was causing some kind of chain reaction. Tiger had seen portals to the digital world activate before, but never like this. The reactions were increasing. The walls themselves seemed to shimmer from disruption.
“Whatever it is you’re doing, stop the portal!” she called to Denryu. “This isn’t happening right! It’s causing something else to happen!”
In the moments that followed, John evolved his partner to Renamon, but thankfully didn’t intervene. And because of the strange reaction that was happening around the platform, none of the terrorist digimon acted either, mainly from fear. Cion’s act of sacrifice and the acceptance of her surrender made many of them lower their guard a little, them thinking that if they went with her, then maybe they could get out of this intact, unlike their leader. Even Makuramon was moved by her actions. But still… what was happening?
“Look! There!” Agent Tiger cried, pointing to the wall of the platform. It was now shining with a bright light, and seemed to be… digitizing, somehow. The solid wall transforming into something she had only seen in crazy demonstrations of 3D graphics designs and early screensavers.
“I think…” Jiro spoke, “-we’re about to find out why this place is one of the most reliable points of entry to the digital world.”
All hostile parties were now pacified, temporarily. And, it seemed, that the kind of portal that Denryu was trying to set up would not work as intended. But… something else major was happening. Something that made even Director Suzuki lose his coolness. He watched with horror along with the rest of them. But Agent Tiger spoke out.
“Nobody move!” she called. “Something’s happening to this place… and I don’t know what!”
“Sir, do we comply?” one of the Riot Squad asked Suzuki. The perplexed director straightened his facial expression.
“Comply.” he answered. “Only engage immediately hostile targets. Let’s wait to see how this plays out.”

Zachary felt his blood boil to know how things were developing. Tension was high for both him and Panthermon, as they acted in the defense to the Digimon they once called enemies. However, the smug Director was quick to point out that Zachary's Mirror Shield modify card wouldn't last long. Still, it was enough to cause some pause in the battle. He hated DATS-- his feelings were justified here as he witnessed them waste a disarmed enemy. Digi-egg or not, this was callous behavior and he couldn't take it. As he gripped his digivice-- dark energy started to radiate from it briefly... and start to seep into Panthermon. The Sin-Trigger energy causing a small but steady rise in dark power... ... however, it was then that Cion's surrender snapped them both out of their haze of hate. "WHAT?!" Both he and Panthermon shouted in unison. Cion's surrender was indeed a surprise. So much so any hateful or furious feelings were washed away and caused the Sin-Trigger energy to die down, stopping the 'Dark Digivolution" that would have taken place. Zachary was glad that John and his Viximon was able to come to aid but it was a moot point at this stage... and things just got even stranger. Realizing the situation was growing more and more dangerous, fighting now would be diasterous. Though reluctant, Zachary ordered Panthermon to stand down. And that was when it happened. The portal created by DATS started to go haywaire and caused some reaction in the space around them. Parts of their surrounding started to digitize, and become unstable. " Um... what the hell is going on?!" Zachary shouted in alarm. The distorted space made everything even more chaotic. Zachary soon tried to use his Digivice-- the map feature. " Don't tell me... they caused a Digital Shift?" Zachary exclaimed, " But if they did..." He hoped the Digivice map feature could show them a more concrete way of retreating now. If space was now destabilized, new paths could be possible. He didn't know, but Teleporting was likely impossible and there were still issues to resolve. Fighting, was the last thing they should do. " Panthermon-- fall back!" he told his partner, and the cat cautiously started to move back to Zachary. As he did, he looked to his allies. " We need to figure out what is going on. " he suggested. With luck, the Digivice could detect anything. " Hello? HELLO! NEXUS to Loser Patrole-- do you read me?!" A static filled voice of Datamon was on t he Nexus communicator channel. " You're signal is spritzed all over the network. What's going on?! " " Long story short--- DATZ director showed up, and messed things up even worse than it already was..." Zachary retorted sarcastically as he looked to his map. " Datamon, can you do anything to secure us a safe route out of here?" " Uh... it may take some time. Just DON'T E-Teleport out of there. Wherever you now, its not achored to any point of digital space. Unless you wan't to teleport and be de-digitized and de-atomized in 12 dimensions at once... actually that be cool to see." " HELPFUL AS ALWAYS, SCRAP-PILE!" Panthermon snarled, irritated. Summary: Cion's surrender cooled Zachary and Panthermon's jets, preventing a Dark Digivolution. However now the entire place became a large digital shift. Using map feature on Digivice Syncro to find any clear path of escape inside the Digital Shift, if space has changed. Datamon cannot track you as Digial Shift has made you bugged on his end. No emergency teleport unless you wanna be deatomized.

Despite his words, Director Suzuki was on the fast-track to losing control of the situation.
Even if the Director had suspicions that Denryu was lying through his teeth, the General was still able to act with relative immunity. With no negative response from the 'terrorists' nor a direct order from the Director, Denryu was able to walk right next to the invaders, slip Arachnemon's Digi-Egg into his infini-store, and prepare the opening of the portal. And, ultimately, Denryu had nothing left to say to the Director, nor to Cion who so willingly offered herself up to the enemy.
It all would have gone smoothly... if not for the malfunctioning portal.
"... The hell is going on, Denryu?" Even if the environment had started to turn before, it was only truly noticeable after the portal accelerated the damage - and following Tiger's advice, the General would flip open his D-Terminal, and enter the command to turn off the portal. Still under the cover of the Knightmon, he'd attempt this a few times - even showing Tiger the screen, hitting the 'off' button a few times in view, just to get the point across.
Regardless, the portal was unusable, and the situation quickly shifted focus to their current environment. Even the riot soldiers didn't know what to do in this situation - and neither did the invaders.
'Not anchored to any point in Digital Space'? No... considering the location...
"Angel. Raider." Denryu spoke in a low tone. "You'll have time to voice your complaints later. For now... follow my instructions to a T."
And with that? Denryu, still under cover from his two partners, drew a D-Arc card, and immediately slid it, as Angel held out her hand, a powerful 'Barrier of Light' joining with the defense that Zachary had put up moments ago - a shimmering barrier separating Director Suziki's group, and any who had gotten closer, from the 'invaders', Denryu's group, and anyone on their side of the wall.
"You lot have two choices." Denryu's voice was sharp, speaking directly to the Makuramon and any of the invasive force that was still standing. "You can try and work your way out with the rest of them, and likely get gunned down later - or you can take a chance, and come along with me. Throw up every defensive shield you have, and let's go!"
Denryu didn't motion to the portal - rather, he pointed his thumb over his shoulder, back in the direction the group had initially come from - the Trailmon tracks that, a moment ago, led to Terminus - the strongest anchor point. If any point of transfer was still in tact, it was that one! And as soon as he made that motion, Angel would scoop Denryu up under her arm, and with Raider and Demon at the rear, the three would bolt - alongside as many of the invasive force that wished to follow.
Denryu uses DA-12, Taomon, and casts 'Talisman Spell' to create a wall of light. Card Name: Taomon Type: Digimon Rank: Gold Duration: 1 Post Talisman Spell: The target Digimon summons a barrier of light. Damage from Ultimate attacks is heavily reduced, and damage from Mega attacks is reduced to a minor extent as well. He, in possession of Arachnemon's egg, attempts to incite the invasive force to action, and make a break for it down the main Trailmon Station terminal, asking for the group to use as many shields as possible. Presuming he can get enough distance, Denryu's intent is to call forth his vehicle and build as much distance as possible.

Blitzwolfmon growled as she glared at Suzuki not liking this man one bit and he opinion was as plain as the nose on her face judging by the judgemental frown she also wore on her face. Though the man was only fueling her general unease of DATS even further, now was not the time to indulge in her temptation to dedigivolve and try to clobber the guy. Walking forward she blocked the human known as Suzuki from approaching the terrorists and crossed her arms before she said "I won't help you round them up. Yes they did what was wrong but digimon should deal with digimon and as humans neither you or I have any authority otherwise." To those who didn't notice her dedigivolving earlier they would certainly know she was human now. At least Arachnemon's digiegg was away from the DATS agents so that was one less thing to worry about.
Things only seemed to spin further out of control as Panthermon attempted a form of digivolution that made her scamper away from the feline and was now standing several feet away. Was this a dark digivolution? Fortunately the transformation ceased so she didn't have to handle a potential rampage on top of everything else.
Cion, meanwhile, seemed to be willing to surrender or even offer her services to DATS in but Blitzwolfmon didn't trust Suzuki. Her instincts screamed to be wary of him and who was the spirit wielder to ignore her instincts which had served her well before she could become a digimon.
When things with the portal seemed to be going out of control she agreed with not opening any other portals. After all being atomized didn't sound like a productive or desirable result for her so she doubted she would open any portals anyway.

The events that continued to transpire were about the what the duo expected. Cion’s move, while unexpected, was not unwelcome. Having to fight this entire group would have proven difficult, even with the Riot Squad’s help. Viktor was strong and skilled, but he knew his limits.
Genesis narrowed her eyes as she stepped a bit closer, moving to join the DATS Director and the Riot Squad. It was the smartest play, given they were armed and trained. With the two foxes on their side, the scales were tipped closer in favor of Suzuki. She’d contact Viktor,
”Stay hidden. They don’t know where you are and that works for us.” she stated, watching the portal Denryu opened up as it quickly became unstable. She braced her feet and blinked, calling to Viktor again, ”Vik! Vik, don’t move! Something is happening.” she’d watch as others began to open a portal to escape the collapsing environment around them.
Viktor finally spoke up, using the same radio to contact the central command, but even with the event around him, there wasn’t a hint of distress in his voice; ”DATS HQ, this is Viper 0-0. Advise your Director to go into the digital world. I hold the power of a Super Mega and have contacts in one of the major cities. I will protect and escort him to safety. Do you copy?” he asked, still not moving and watching from his elevated position.
There wasn’t a hint in his mind that this already hit the fan and it quickly became about survival. He’d been around the block, metaphorically speaking and he’d seen portals go sideways, but this... this was different. The literal sense of reality was crashing around them and they had to act. But how? Viktor doubted anyone in the room had experience with how to deal with this and the panicking on most people would set it.
But Viktor was not most people. He’d watch and he’d wait, like he always did. Once he had an idea of what to do, he’d act accordingly. It was the only sensible thing to do at this point.

Cion harrumphed under her breath with a pained smirk. Of all her plans and schemes that had crumbled into dust right in front of her aureate eyes, this was actually and finally the one that was meant so succeed? Tempting fate has at last caused her to meet it... or so it seemed. She was certain that once this was over, she would depart with less cherished friends than this cruddy, daft ordeal had began with.
The silver fennec could see it in the expressions of her former allies, be they of disbelief or apathy. Maybe a few hid what they truly felt, but that was something she was not made aware of - nor did she want to. At least for now, it was better to have payed the price for her decision and act with a corresponding mindset than to be caught in the middle of two antithetic factions. Her conviction was true, which was quickly reaffirmed by the rash and thoughtless deeds that were performed by most. Were they words or actions, not many served to de-escalate this imbroglio.
Oddly enough, it were the director and his assault team that kept their poise and composure. It appeared bizarre considering their previous doings, but it was an actuality that the vulpine lady welcomed with open arms. She had affected them, if perhaps only ever so slightly, but that was more than sufficient. Idea were quite potent, were they not? Unfortunately, there was not a lot she was capable of doing to thwart the chain reaction that was transpiring, but fortunately it intrigued Suzuki and thus there was no need to.
To her delight, there was another individual who possibly saw things in the long term as she did. Briefly flashing the Taomon with the amusingly pompous name a confident and reassuring smile, it was clear that she appreciated his unexpected support. It was good to learn that she was not completely alone in this, and this certainty bolstered her up greatly. Gone was the expression of vindication and toadyism - replaced by absolute focus towards a single goal:
To assure that the men and women of DATS remained unharmed.
Abjurating her modern bow in a brief flash, she changed her approach. Raising her empty hands in a defensive CQC-style, she slowly walked backwards away from the others and past Genesis, who was busy contacting her operator Viktor. She did not know to what end, but it was likely in their favor. She easily maintained her calm as her sole partner did, though it was true that she was not familiar with the dimensional coalescence she was witnessing.
On these grounds, Cion was anticipating the worst.
"Sir?" She addressed Suzuki with her head tilted in her direction. "May I recommend a perimeter defense formation with me and you in the center so I can cover all angles?" She suggested with a neutral mien and stance, as it was becoming to someone who was effectively a soldier for the moment. And she, she was well-aware of squad tactics, and military terminology and procedures.

The situation was tense, everyone had a different stance on the situation, however for the most part it seemed that things seemed to stay relatively calm. Runa didn’t mind that Cion chose to surrender, in a way she respected the decision, but it was when the director said that he was gonna edit the Arachnemon’s data, that really got her angry.
Runa let out a low growl, and crouched down while facing the direction of the digiegg, when John quickly grabbed her shoulder. “Hey, what are you doing, we agreed to wait!” she turned to him. “I’m going to save the egg, of course, I can’t let them do what they want to it!”
“Well, I don’t like these people are doing ether, but I don’t think they’d let us just get away with the egg.” John gestured to the soldiers with guns. “But if we don’t take it, then he might remove her drive to fight, or make her unable to digivolve, or something else horrible in the name of ‘safety’, I can’t let him do that, even if she was a terrorist!”
Runa turns back to the soldiers, looking around for the egg, making john step forward. “That may be the case, but if you get shot by those guns, then you’ll just be in the same boat!”
Runa turned around to make a rebuttal, when she began to notice the odd reaction of the portal, like everyone else was. When John noticed, he put a hand next to the Nexus receiver. “Guys, what the heck is happening to the portal?!” as everyone was talking about what was happening, Runa kept a defensive stance in-between the portal and John, although she kept taking quick glances towards the digiegg.
John looks to the portal, Runa, and then the egg, considering the options. “… Hey Zaber,” he said in the Nexus coms. “How difficult would it be for Runa to grab the Arachnemon egg without being shot at? She's not very found of the idea of letting them edit the code.”

Zaber’s words made Agent Tiger’s eyes widen. “A digital shift? Have you seen this sort of phenomenon happen before?” she asked him. So, this was a digital shift. Tiger looked around, seeing half of the platform as it normally was, and half as a bizarre digitzed mess. As for the far wall, it had completely disappeared, and only a strange abstract pixillated maelstrom could be seen. For now, even the terrorist digimon that had been Arachnemon’s allies were transfixed by the phenomenon. While this was happening, Jiro repositioned himself, standing between the digital maelstrom and the rest of the group, recognizing that the danger would likely come from there. As a result, nobody noticed Denryu take Arachnemon’s egg. Although Denryu attempted to turn off the charging of his portal, it had no effect. It seemed that the DATS dimension bombs had been the main cause of it. “I… have read reports of a similar phenomenon, from the previous incarnation of DATS.” Director Suzuki stated, loudly. “Its most likely cause is… a powerful, corrupted entity that exists in the dimensions between our world and the digital world.”“And all these powerful digimon in one place near the main portal to the digital world drew it here.” Agent Tiger concluded. “Plus those bombs you used, director.”Suzuki could say nothing in defense of this. Denryu then indicated that they should flee along the tracks back to the digital world. Tiger would have thought this would be a prudent idea, had the next event not occurred. There was an eruption of light, sound, then shock as the tracks erupted from a horrific wave of energy. Agent Tiger gasped as she held up her arms reflexively. Then she looked to where its origins were. It was from the maelstrom. There was a looming presence there, beating its demonic wings, glaring at them with a singular golden eye. Its form was shrouded with shimmering, corrupted data. And it was radiating with malice. Tiger raised her iC digivice and got an analysis back in a few seconds. She read it out loud. “Deathmon… Mega level.” she breathed. “Impossible! The disruptors we set up around the city should make it impossible for a mega level to hold its form!” Director Suzuki snarled. “Clearly it has a way to get around that, sir.” Tiger answered her superior. Viktor’s message to DATS would not make it through, unfortunately. The disruption from the digital shift rendered such a communication unreadable. All DATS got was static and garble. Suzuki then looked at Cion, who suggested a perimeter formation. This, he agreed with. “ Riot Squad, prepare for combat.” he ordered. “Target is Deathmon.”As Denryu had already secured Arachnemon’s egg, Runa’s plan to seize it would probably have to be dealt with him instead of Suzuki. But for the moment, Deathmon approached, and Suzuki’s nerve broke. “Riot squad open fire!” he ordered. The DATS soldiers fired their deletion beams up at Deathmon, but unlike with Arachnemon, they had no effect. Each beam seemed to dissipate before it could touch Deathmon, merely simmering into black digitized smoke. Suzuki gasped with shock, he thought the deletion beams had been tested enough to reduce any digimon to egg form. But they weren’t working. “Do these weapons not work on Mega levels?” he asked, horrified. “Sir, I don’t think this entity is entirely a digimon.” Agent Tiger answered. She was also certain that Deathmon wasn’t in the mood to negotiate, given that it seemed to be charging up an attack to fire at them. “Jiro! Attack! All-out!” she ordered her partner. And the Wingdramon complied, bright blue energy charging in his mouth. ”Blaze Sonic Breath!” he roared and fired a blast of blue energy directly at Deathmon. Unlike the deletion beams, this actually had an effect, knocking Deathmon from its initial attack run. Tiger exhaled with relief. It seemed that unlike the deletion beams, attacks from digimon would work. “Okay then!” she said to the rest of the group, including the enemy faction of digimon. “Be careful, it’s still a Mega level, but we have enough Perfect levels here to overwhelm it! Fight with us, and we’ll let you go!” she turned to Suzuki. “That fine by you, sir?”Suzuki knew there was no other choice. He knew Mega levels were superior to Ultimates, and it would need everyone’s cooperation to take out this abomination. After all, he too was in the firing line. “Do what you must…” he replied, too overwhelmed by the situation to put up much resistance to Tiger’s taking charge. The Riot squad themselves were feeling nervous too, realizing their weapons were useless against this entity. A new enemy has appeared.
Deathmon (Corrupt)
Level: Mega
Combat Passive Ability: Soulless Core – Because of Deathmon’s corruption, only entities that possess a digicore may damage it. In exchange for this power, attacks from any level above Champion do the same amount of damage to it, and the damage it inflicts on others, whether Champion or Perfect, is also balanced to be the same.
No further data found.
Deathmon uses Explosion Eye to cut off access to the tracks to the digital world.
Explosion Eye - Launches a blast of dark energy from its main eye that causes area-of-effect damage in a 50ft radius at the target. [1 turn cooldown]. Jiro launches Blaze Sonic Breath against Deathmon, dealing damage.
Blaze Sonic Breath - Inhales and exhales a powerful stream of fire from his mouth. Almost resembles an energy beam from its strength. Explodes into heat upon impact, dealing area-of-effect damage for 10 meters from the impact.

To be clear, Agent Tiger wasn't invited on Denryu's attempt to escape. It was rather a rallying cry - and Denryu hoped that it was a convincing one - to convince the rogue Digimon to spur to action.
And it likely would have worked... if not for that sudden burst of light that stopped the General right in their tracks, and the sudden appearance of a mega-level Digimon in front of them. Angel pivoted as the Knightmon was forced to stop, shield still held in the direction of the DATS soldiers (covering whoever in the rogue group decided to follow along with the General).
"General!"
The sound of the Deathmon's 'Explosion Eye' echoed throughout the depths of the station, and as Angel and Denryu had been closest to it, the shockwave rocked through them the most directly. The Taomon, having used her defense to try and construct a wall between DATS and themselves, could only turn and brace the attack against her back, snarling as she protected the General in her grip. She was soon forced to release Denryu, falling to a knee as she looked over her shoulder, towards that accursed Digimon.
There might have been talks of an alliance, brokerages of a deal. And yes, there were initial attacks thrown towards the Deathmon, but between the absolute absurdity of the situation and the ringing still in the General's ears, Denryu wasn't able to take too much stock in it. What he did feel was his body run cold, Denryu's eyes looking right towards the main eye of the Deathmon. Unflinching, even as he collected himself, standing strong on his own two feet.
It had been a long while since Denryu had truly been angry.
"Angel. Demon. Full offense."
Whatever ruse Denryu had before instantly broke, as all of the 'Xros Components' scattered throughout the ranks - including the Reppamon and the Knightmon - reverted to their state as Digital Cores, sinking back into his Xros Loader. Only Angel, as a Renamon, and the one-armed Devidramon remained, briefly standing at his side, before their own bodies started to glow, two cores sinking into each of their backs.
The Renamon gained a buckler and a sharp scimitar, her data signal shooting straight to Ultimate.
The Devidramon's missing claw was replaced, a mechanical visor covering its eyes, an eyeball appearing in the middle of each palm. Demon, too, took the state of Ultimate.
Flowing with the energy of their General, Angel and Demon shared their tamer's emotions. Demon's claws opened, revealing a pair of crimson-glowing eyes, intently aimed at the Deathmon to attempt to lock him into place. Angel, meanwhile, produced a seed pod in her shield hand, and lobbed it upwards, towards the ceiling of the station, intent on letting forth a powerful Diamond Storm from above the Deathmon, showering it in shrapnel.
If the 'rogues' really wanted to make their escape? They'd either make a break for it now, or help oust this Deathmon as soon as possible.
Denryu summons forth Renamon X3 - Pirate, and Devidramon X3 - Devil.
'Devil' uses Crimson Glare [0/1]. Devidramon's eyes glow a fierce red. Those who make eye contact, champion or below, are locked in place for one post. One post cooldown
'Pirate' uses Diamond Storm - Grenade [0/1]. An upgrade on Diamond Storm, Renamon conjures a seed pod into one of her hands, and hurls it into the air. After a short duration, a 'Diamond Storm' - a set of enhanced, sharpened leaves - erupt from the thrown seed's position, towards a target. One post cooldown.

The Digital Shift took hold over the tunnel and god knows how much else of the station. This was bad! It seemed Agent Tiger was surprised Zaber encountered this kind of phanominon before. "A Digital Shift-- It's when data from the digital world overwrites the real one, causing a pocket dimension of sorts between them. The last time I was in one, a dinosaur Digimon used it to take over a Museum on the outskirts of Tokyo. They wanted to use it as a bridge to cross over to the real world, but a few others and I stopped em. Just barely at least..." Zaber explained to the group. "But that would mean someone or something is---"
It didn't take long for the 'source' to show up. From the light and breaks in space, arrived the creepy and unusual Deathmon. It let out a powerful cry as it began to attack. Checking his Digivice-- Zachary opened up the analyzer empowered by NEXUS. While he scanned it, some features stood out. The level, type, and other statistics about its power--- were bugged in the text. This was no regular Digimon, if it could even be called a Digimon.
"Seriously? What kind of Digimon is this? Is this thing the User who created the Digital Shift then? " Zachary asked.
"Zaber! Focus!" Panthermon growled, getting his partner right on track. "We need to try again. Evolve me into Jaguamon quickly!"
Zachary snapped out of his confusion and quickly took out the blue card again. He hoped it would work a second time. "Okay! Digi-Modify! Matrix Digivolution!!" Zachary shouted, swiping the blue card before the D-Sync's lense again.
Light and Darkness fused together around Panthermon and once again, he re-emerged as Jaguamon. A better option than allowing his 'darker counterpart' out to play. With a jump in place, Jaguamon re-emerged ready to fight.
"Go, Jaguamon!!" Zaber cried, directing his partner to join the fray with Denryu. Without any complaint or arguement, Jaguamon jumped right in, using his advance speed to sprint across the broken space.
Jaguamon was able to safely cross the broken digital terrain via "Shadow Step". He would jump and acrobatically jump from places in the air-- creating patches of darkness under his feet and paws to propel himself further. He darted around the enclosed space of the broken tunnel, aiming to get above the violent Deathmon.
Jaguamon's eyes glowed with determination and excitement as he saw his opening. Moving at such speed, he kicked off the ceiling and right to his enemy. As he did, his claws glowed with hues of light and darkness respectively in each paw.
"Twilight Claw!! " Jaguamon roared as struck down with both claws in an "X" pattern against Deathmon's back and wings, in hopes to deal critical damage. Jaguamon was a digimon born with both light and darkness powers, able to exploit and confront enemies of both affiliations. A deterent force to put out of control evils from any side in their place. Hopefully, Deathmon in his corrupt state would be no exception.
Notes:
Zaber explains aboutg the Digital Shift and joins the fray, evolving Panthermon back into Jaguamon. Jaguamon uses Shadow Step to get closer with his jaguar like speed and platforms of darkness. Finally, he strikes, using his signature "Twilight Claw" attack against Deathmon from above.
Twilight Claw-- Charging each claw with light in one, and darkness in another, Jaguamon slashes across an enemy, delivering both forces against the foe in an X-pattern. The resulting attack of light and dark is critical to both light and dark enemies. (Extra damage against Virus buster and Nightmare Soldier) or (Light or Dark Attributed enemies) Cooldown of 1 post.

Blitzwolfmon snorted in annoyance at Suzuki but he and his gun toting goons were the least of her worries as things just had to get worse with the Digital Shift fluctuating. Of course things had to and she said "The closest thing to such a shift I've experienced was when a werewolf appeared in Network Plains when I was a rookie. The energy it gave off felt nothing like this one though."
Soon a powerful beast in the form of Deathmon came out of the fluctuating shift and, after feeling the sheer power coming from the creature, said "Oh shit." The wave of power from Deathmon nearly sent the speedy champion flying if she didn't dive down and dig in with her claws. As the pulse passed she rose to her feet feeling truly useless in this moment as she watched Panthermon digivolve and attack. Would the other ultimates follow suit though?

Hitting the fan was now quite the understatement
Both Genesis and Viktor had read about these phenomenon, but never witnessed them first hand. Genesis brought her arms to protect her eyes from the maelstrom of collapsing data before them, then got on her radio called for her fox, "Viktor. Viktor get down here now!" she'd bark into her radio as she looked over to the director, "Director! Come! Give my digimon room to work." she'd say, gesturing to the man as she'd look to the group of Riot Squad, giving a soft nod. As she'd query again to see if Viktor was coming, the Deathmon unleashed an attack that ripped the tracks clean from their housings. She would widen her eyes as she backed up, her voice trembling as she spoke on the radio once more, "V-Viktor, please we-" the secondary explosion of the electronics around the terminal without converters to keep them stable!
Within moments, the Taomon with the bamboo-hat appeared, standing just behind the Squad of men. He'd step near the other fox and give them a nod, then knelt down to address the Riot Squad directly; "Swap to conventional weapons, intermediate rifle rounds work best. Keep to Semi-Auto and aim for his eyes, but keep those for self-defense only. If you have any explosive payloads; Grenade Launchers, rocket laucnhers, use them now. The more we damage this beast, the easier it will be for us later." he would point to the Deathmon's eyes and general body, then look to Cion;
"You and I will be upfront, in the middle of them is good, but we need to be able to move around and that bottlenecks us. We will protect the Squad and the Director, and Genesis at all costs." he would bring his naginata to bear and plant it in the ground, walking backwards and in tandem to the group of humans trapped in this. He'd still watch and wait. The Fox not presenting a target for the Deathmon, which happened to be several very easy to kill humans. He'd act only defensively, likely with the Cion to keep them safe. He'd watch the others move to overwhelm and attack the larger, more powerful Digimon.
He'd look to the Director as they moved, speaking just loud enough so he could hear, "You happen to have two very powerful Digimon with you. Once we get to the Digital World, we will personally see to your safe return. You and your men. Correct, Cion?" he asked, more for his own confirmation than anything. He already saw the other fox's actions, which spoke more than she ever could, but hearing it directly from her would likely put everyone at ease.
He'd still watch and wait, defending the group from any attack, even the ones that may not have come from the Deathmon.
