"Active Imagination"
Another move. Zachary had finally had gotten used to his life in Australlia. It was rough that he had to keep moving with his parents every few years. On one hand, he loved to travel with them. He got to see so much since they first left New York City. He grew up well enough, and got to see many things most kids his age would. London, Check Republic, Denmark, Paris-- especially for the Louvre museum. As historians and art experts for insurance companies, they had to travel a lot and Zachary was part of their trips. At times, he got homeschooled, at times he went to the schools there. However, eventually, it could only go so far. While some would relish it, and Zachary did enjoy visiting the famous places,
That week, his parents sat him down and discussed how he was now 15 and needed to focus on his future. After their next trip, they would be in Tyoko, but that would be where he would have to make his stand. With the need for college and planning for their future, they expressed the need for him to knuckle down with school without the distraction of traveling and frequent moving. It would be then they discussed with him how he would have to live on his own with the aid of a family friend and contact with them. They would allow Zachary to love on his own in an apartment and space free and paid for by their parents, and with an allowance given to allow Zachary to live off of on his own. While they would remain in touch and contact with him, it would mean after a period with the start of the school year, he would be on his own.
As Zachary laid there looking out of the window from Finland, seeing the ocean and city in the distance, he wish he could stay in one place, but in the end, he would miss his parents. He felt lonely already, having to move and leave people he knew behind-- but now he was leaving his parents, his only family behind to attend this school in Tokyo of all places. He felt torn, a mixture of being upset at them for leaving him, anxious to be on his own even with aid, but also understood where they were coming from. They talked about college and seriousness of school-- and he never really fully got it till now. Of course planning for the future was important and taking a path for him to live on his own. It was hard to not feel abandoned, even with them saying they wouldn't leave till after he was settled in and ready to start school. It still was a dilemma.
As he laid in his room, he looked around at his lack of pictures and furniture on the walls and room. He had been prepared to act for when he moved.
