At Oliver's statement about Outer Space Mandrake chuckled before he said "As I said before, digimon come from a world parallel to this one. An alternate dimension, if you will, that is inhabited by many other species of digimon. Some with great power and others weak and relatively harmless. The Digital World also has humans, much like yourself, exploring it. As for how I got here, I travel periodically to this world via a digimon called Trailmon. It is a large digimon that travels between the two worlds and they are usually friendly digimon but sometimes impatient."
Mandrake knew that Oliver would have to know how to reach Trailmon so he said "As for catching a ride on a Trailmon, it can be done at what you humans call Shibuya Station. The area you need to go is blocked off to most humans but you, for example, are able to gain access because of that machine you possess."

"Oh yeah, that detail got over shadowed instantly when you turned into a purple creature." It was interesting though that there was another place filled with life. Maybe the Digital World was another chance for Oliver to reinvent himself or to finally get some adventure in his life. He was growing tired of his desk job and was yearning for excitement, maybe this was his chance. To explore a brand new world, something very few have gotten to do it seems like. It was probably a little negligent for him to just go without knowing what the Digital world is like, but he decided he could just wing it or something. "Is there anything else I should know about this world if I were to go?"
The last thing he Olive wants to do is step off the train and get eaten by some giant lizard. :....for example, is there a chance I'm going to get killed? Or taken hostage by some random Digimon? Anything dangerous like that?" Every movie that involved going to some uncharted world usually ended in disaster.

Oliver forgetting that the Digital World was a parallel world to the Human World when Mandrake briefly revealed his true form was understandable considering he was absorbing a lot of new information no matter how carefully Mandrake explained it.
"Both the Digital and Human Worlds have their dangers, Oliver. One can be killed or even taken hostage by a human just as they can a digimon. However, digimon are usually stronger than humans and even a relatively young digimon, such as myself, could be considered a threat to even adult humans. There are digimon that grow strong enough to effortlessly destroy even a city as big as this one." As much as Mandrake didn't want to panic Oliver, this was something he needed to know. "Some of the most dangerous evils in the Digital World aren't even the feral digimon but the rational thinking ones that plot evil for various reasons."

"Yeah, I suppose that's true, but I don't know people big enough to level entire cities on their own." Mandrake had a point about how the human world was dangerous as well, Oliver just hadn't really experienced those forms of dangers in his own life. Was it worth it for him to go? He wasn't quite so sure anymore. The idea of running into a bigger digimon as Mandrake had mentioned was terrifying, but he wanted to know why the D-Tector had been given to him. Maybe he could find a place he could fit in better in this other world. Or maybe the Digital World had just as many problems as the human world has. If this device really could give him some form of power, maybe he could stand a chance in that other world.
"Well, I guess I should make my way over to the Digital World sometime soon. Get some answers about this thing." Oliver looked at the image on the computer screen one more time."What kind of digimon are you anyway?" Oliver thought it would be important to know what kind of digiomn he would be turning into. All he knew was he would turn into something else. It made him feel like a butterfly almost.

"Sometimes little digimon are just as dangerous as big ones." Mandrake said. Oliver had no idea about digimon levels. If he did he would realize that Mandrake technically an adult digimon yet. By human logic, Mandrake was closer to a teenager in age than he was an adult. "Perhaps you can find more answers than I can help you with in the Digital World since I haven't been traveling long myself. The digimon species I am is known as Impmon. It is a species that tends to have an aptitude for fire and ice magic though two of the same species can have totally different abilities." Mandrake had to admit he'd seen some strange things in the village he grew up in like two of the same digimon having completely opposite abilities. The Jijimon who raised him was said to be very versatile in magical abilities compared to other Jijimon. Who knew what abilities Oliver would have as an Impmon.

'Don't worry, I plan on going there soon." Oliver felt some excitement about going to the Digital World, but he also felt some fear. It was completely uncharted territory. He didn't know the geography of this world, the people and creatures, he didn't even know if the physics there were the same as they are here. "Maybe I'll meet some other Impmon too." Hopefully he wouldn't need a train ticket to aboard the Trailmon. He could only imagine what it would be like going up to the ticket counter and asking for a ticket to a train that would transport him to a parallel universe. They probably didn't get many people asking for those.
"Have you seen the Matrix movies? Maybe not. It's American. Anyway, I feel like I'm in that right now." Oliver jokingly said; however, it wasn't too far from the truth. Like Neo, Oliver found out that his world wasn't how it seemed, that there was another layer to reality.

"I understand your apprehension, Oliver. Ever since I left my home I've been adventuring around the Digital and Human World. When I first came to the Human world I was accosted by a mugger at knife point. That obviously hasn't stopped me from coming back to this world. However in the Digital World digimon can have terrifying powers. At least when you learn how to tap into your spirit's power, you should be able to protect yourself against aggressive digimon. Maybe some can even help with your comedy act."
When the Matrix movies were mentioned, Mandrake said "You're right about me not seeing those movies but, then again, I haven't been to any of the theaters since I've been adventuring. I guess I haven't gotten around to it even though I seem to be drawn in by the Entertainment District most of the time I come to the Human World."

"You should get your claws on it, it's interesting." Oliver found it funny he was recommending movies to a Digimon. He was surprised someone even got that close to him with a knife, he figured the Impmon could just incinerate the guy, maybe he wasn't at the level quite yet. Oliver already didn't know very much, and now it turns out that he knows even less than what he had thought. He wouldn't be surprised at all if after he left this bar tonight and headed straight for the train station. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to get some rest, but he didn't know if he would even be able to sleep tonight with the restlessness he felt to escape to this world. Brand new, uncharted territory. All just waiting for him to explore.
"Well, it's the weekend which means I don't work which also means I am taking a vacation now." Maybe when he gets to the Digital World he will be able to find a nice hotel to stay in, that is if the Digital World even had hotels. From the way Mandrake was talking, it sounds like some of his world is somewhat civilized.

When Oliver recommended the movies it had Mandrake thinking. 'Perhaps after I've finished my current quest.' He thought. He knew why he didn't barbeque the mugger. He would never kill someone no matter if they tried to harm him. It was just his way and besides he preferred to outwit potential foes over outmuscling them anyway. When he mentioned spending the weekend in the Digital World, Mandrake wondered if he should mention the time difference. 'No, he'll figure it out on his own. He'll be fine.' Mandrake thought. 'That and he'll quickly learn that digimon become fairly self sufficient at a young age. Otherwise we wouldn't survive to make it to the champion level in most cases.'
"Just be careful when you get to the Digital World, Oliver. An aggressive digimon can be more potentially dangerous than a human mugger. That and a lot bigger in some cases too but, from what I've heard, other humans have managed just fine."

"Well, let's hope I don't die. I figure if other people can do it, so can I." He didn't fully believe what he had said, but he was gonna make sure he put a good face on. He wanted to go check out this place right away. He wanted to confirm what he has been told, to see if there was a secret train digimon that would take him to a place the general population didn't know about. In many ways he felt incredibly special or that he had won a golden ticket. That excitement to discover something entirely new didn't brush the fear away, however. There were other digimon in this world to be met. For all he knew, he might have already come into contact with some digimon in his own life and hadn't even known it. Oliver still had no idea what he was about to encounter.
"Can't wait to see what all the hype is about." Oliver had the perfect song for his adventure already picked out: A Whole New World from the movie Aladdin. That idea was amusing to him, he almost laughed out loud about that one. He would've told Mandrake, but he probably wouldn't get the joke.

There was something infectious about Oliver's excitement and Mandrake felt himself pulled into it. Not only did Oliver take information pertaining to digimon well but was also able to handle the info about being a spirit wielder. He was also able to handle that Mandrake was a digimon as well. Mandrake had a feeling that Oliver would be able to handle the Digital World as well. Maybe if Mandrake found other spirit wielders on his journey he would be able to help them out as well.
"I wondered the same thing about the Human World when I first came here aboard the Trailmon. Now I understand that despite the differences, humans and digimon still have a lot in common. Oliver, you also have to be careful of humans in the Digital World with malicious intent." So far Mandrake had been lucky that his encounters with humans had been positive. Hopefully Oliver would be just as lucky around digimon.

It doesn't surprise Oliver there would be humans in the Digital World who would try to rule over it. Probably what happened was someone got their hands on a device, got some power, and decided they wanted more. He could understand that. The majority of humans are powerless, they can be easily taken down. In someways he could relate to that, but he didn't think he would try to conquer another world. It seemed like humans just had a desire to take whatever they can. It has been seen all throughout human history.
"If they come mess with me, I'll just have to figure out how this thing works on the fly." It would be nice if he could meet another Spirit Wielder to show him the ropes, but it seemed like people have been doing it for quite some time. Oliver hoped that maybe the Impmon spirit inside the D-Tector would give him some advice or guidance soon, because as of now, he's heard nothing from it. Mandrake said they can make contact, when would Oliver receive it? "And hopefully this guy gives me some hints." Oliver said pointing to the screen.

Shame Mandrake couldn't give Oliver more information on spirit wielders so learning on the fly, unfortunately, seemed the best option for Oliver. That or a chance encounter early on with another spirit wielder but what were they odds of that anyway? Who knew, maybe luck would be with the young man. "Sorry I don't know much about how spirit wielders tap into their power. I haven't been traveling very long." Mandrake said "As for dealing with evil forces, at least try to avoid trouble unless you have no other choice. I may be willing to fight evil but I'm really wondering the Digital and Human World because I'm hoping to find a childhood friend of mine. The problem is I haven't seen him since we were both very young so I don't know what he would look like now." Mandrake said with a sigh as the happy feeling he felt seemed sucked out of him.

Olive wish he knew how he could help the Impmon find his friend, but he wasn't a private investigator or detective and wouldn't know how to track someone like that. "Wish I could help you find them, but I'm no Sherlock Holmes," Oliver realized that Mandrake might not know that reference either. "but don't worry, I'll figure this thing out and I'll try to stay out of trouble." The new spirit wielder put the digivice in a side pocket on his backpack so that he didn't lose it. It would suddenly become one of the most important things in Oliver's life, yet he didn't fully comprehend it yet. He didn't know that he would have to hunt other spirit totems to gain access to stronger forms. Mandrake mentioned there were stronger digimon, Oliver just didn't know work it would take to get to that point.
"I think I might head to the Digital World soon." He thought for a moment he should get some rest before he did, but the excitement he felt was killing him.

Mandrake was perplexed at the reference to Sherlock Holmes considering he hadn't read any human books. Though confused he said "I'm sorry to unload my troubles on you, Oliver considering you have worries of your own." When Oliver said he would try to stay out of trouble Mandrake knew that sometimes that could be easier said than done. Some aggressive digimon were feral though Mandrake figured Oliver would also learn that soon enough. Then there was the occasional glitches that came up. Mandrake himself had been fortunate in his adventures so far. Maybe he should fine a quiet spot away from humans in the Human World to deactivate his holosuit and reach out with his telepathic abilities. If his friend was here, Mandrake could locate him telepathically. Even if unsuccessful, the blue eyed Impmon would still periodically visit the Human World since it fascinated him. Turning his attention back to Oliver he hoped the new spirit wielder's excitement didn't lead him to being reckless but even Mandrake found trouble without meaning to once in awhile.
