The Truth Will Come Out [Owen]

When Owen joined in the hug with Justice, he could feel deep down just how much he was hurting. This pain was real, and hard to fathom. It made Owen tear up a little himself as he realized just how deep that human emotions were. He had never seen a human this sad. No wonder digimon bonded with them so easily, emotions were powerful to digimon.
He approved as Vee and Gummy showed a few subtle gestures of care, Vee cleaning Justice's face of tears and Gummy holding tight to his partner.
Then Justice said that he always felt like he was on his own, and never felt so alone.
"I'm really sorry that you feel this way, mate." Owen said gently. "But... this is the point where we can try to make everything better. You were treated horribly by your old family, and, in my opinion, you did the right thing in casting them out of your life. Families are meant to be built on love, and, that clearly wasn't the case. And I'm not gonna lie to you, the next bit's going to be hard, but, you could try to start to make things better, by... maybe, making a new family for yourself?"
He let go and stood back up. "I mean, right here, you've got two digimon partners that clearly love you. Why not think of them as your family?" he suggested. "What do you think, Vee and Gummy? Do you think that Justice could be a part of your family?" he hoped that they would be okay with this. While Owen didn't have a human partner of his own, those digimon that he knew that did certainly accepted their partners as being as good as family.

Hearing their human so vulnerable and so emotional began to tore at the twin's heartstrings. But at the same time, that was the whole point of this intervention: to allow Justice to slowly vent all of his anger, sadness, and lament. The pain was real, and it hurt. With the pain however, they could feel something deep resonating within them--something that wanted to make them shield him from all of the things in his life that had hurt him so much.
Owen then expressed his sympathy, saying that Justice did the right thing with separating himself from his family. The young man nodded in agreement as he wiped his face with his sleeve, still sniffling, trying to calm himself down. The Gaomon then asked in order to let his pain begin to mend, he could try and make a new family, one that actually loves and cares for him, starting with Vee and Gummy.
Hearing that, Vee smiled. "Are ya kidding? I already consider him family." he declared, wiping a tear away. He reached out to one of Justice's hands, holding it tightly. "Humans, Digimon, whatever. You're like a older brother to me after all the dangers and shenanigans we've been through."
"Damn straight!" Gummy said, grabbing Justice's other hand. "If we'd never met you, our lives wouldn't had been this exciting. Before, I had thought a digimon's life revolved around fighting and getting strong with no purpose. But after living with you, I no longer want to get strong just so I can have bragging rights; I want to get strong to protect you." The Gumdramon's face slightly turned red from embarrassment. "...or something like that."
"And if your mom ever tries to reel you back under her control, we'll give her, and your brother and sister an explosive earful if you don't want to talk to them." Vee said. "And if you ever want a hug, ask and ye shall receive."
Justice's eyes began to swell up again. Hearing all of that made reach out to hug his two Digimon. "Thank you." He said quietly, with tears coming down his face once more.
The young man looked up to the blue doggo, wanting to continue. "But...despite what she put me through, my siblings know she's in the wrong. But she has a hold over so much of us that when they tried to, she plays the victim card. I don't want to give up on my brother and sister; just my mom."

Owen was really glad that Vee and Gummy readily accepted thinking themselves as part of Justice's new family. He could tell that the love was real between the three of them. While they of course lacked experience in how to be a family together, well, that was something that Owen was happy to help them out with.
The Gaomon was glad to hear what Vee and Gummy had to say. He thought that would be very helpful to Justice, having his partners accept him as such an important part of their lives.
However, the next obstacle in this situation was that Justice mentioned that he wanted his siblings to be a part of his family as well. While they hadn't hurt him as his mother had done, Owen pondered for a moment what he should say here.
Damn... this was really something that Owen was struggling to comprehend. In his own digimon family, he had been an only child, and as such, he didn't know what it was like to have brothers or sisters. All the experience he had was watching his own children interact with each other.
The blue and white canine digimon paused to think for a moment, wondering how in the world he could provide advice to such a situation. He thought of the problem at hand - that his siblings both loved him and his toxic mother. As much as he wanted to find a magic cure to this, he couldn't find one. So in the end, all he could say was what he hoped would be pragmatic advice.
"With your siblings... it's going to be difficult to find a healthy balance in your new family." he said, cautiously. "Of course, even if they love you, they also love your mother. I think this is probably something we can figure out in the future. I'm sorry for saying so, mate, but, I can't help you with your siblings right now. But, I'll do my best to learn how to do so, I promise."
In this, Owen would ask those friends of his that had brothers and sisters. Luke and Bellamy were first in his mind. Oh, and Colin and Sophie, they were human siblings that he knew. Just, right now, he honestly didn't know any helpful advice here.

Justice sighed. “It’s alright. I’ll find a way to deal with it. You don’t have to help me if you have no clue where to start.” He took some tissue that was sitting on the table and blew his nose. The storm that was pounding outside had begun to move out to another area with the grey clouds remaining. The thunder still rumbled overhead, though not as loud as before.
“I know my siblings better than anybody, so it should be my responsibility to convince them that they don’t have to let my mom control our lives anymore. They are as much victims in her delusions as me.”
Looking at Owen, he could tell that he was struggling to comprehend the relationships with human family. Yeah, it seems families here in the Digital World were black and white. He continued. “She’s just creating her own world and words about what we want and tells me I’m too lazy, toxics, or too egotistical. What she doesn’t understand is that SHE’S the egotistical one. One of her dreams was to have a big family until I came along and severed those chances. It’s not my fault she had complications giving birth to me, so why does she tell me I have to be ‘this’ or ‘that’ or some shit?”
“Have you...tried to speak to your mom about how you feel?” Vee queried. He felt he probably already knew the answer, but felt it prudent to ask anyway.
Justice nodded. “She’s like a brick wall; Once she has her mind set on something for us, we have no choice but to abide by it, or get punished. What she doesn’t understand is that if we can’t choose to pursue our passion, we’ll probably live in regret. What’s the point of even making her happy if I’m not happy?”
Justice’s gaze returned to Owen. “You’re a father, right? Do you and your partner let your kids choose their own dreams and passions without putting your thumb on them? I’m not sure if the family dynamic here in the Digital World is the same as with humans, but I’m assuming it is.”

Owen was glad that this hurdle could be something they could deal with later. After all, he felt that they had made so much progress in this moment, he would hate for it to all unravel with him pretending that he knew how to deal with Justice's brother and sister. The first step had been achieved, and they should celebrate that milestone for now.
However, he listened with sympathy to hear that they were as much as victims of their mother as Justice was. Undoubtedly this was a major source of the human's pain as well. In fact he felt anger again, realizing that that woman was probably using Justice as an example of what would happen to them if his siblings dared to question her. But, with a deep breath, he held down that anger, thinking that yet again, it would not be helpful.
Justice continued to vent about his mother. Initially Owen wanted to advise him to stop, but, instead said nothing as he learned more about her motives. So all of this was down to bitterness about how giving birth to Justice had broken her long term dreams, and she had taken it out on him with emotional abuse. As disgusted as Owen was with this, well, at least it explained her motives to him.
Then Justice returned a question to Owen - asking him how he approached his own children. At once, Owen almost burst forth that he would never, ever treat his own children like Justice's mother did, but, managed to restrain himself long enough to give a more constructive answer.
"Of course. My husband and I let our kids do whatever they want, within the scope of good morality." Owen answered, managing to put some pride in his voice. "We raise them with all the love and care we can muster, then we ask them what they want to achieve in this world. Then we help them as best we can. My eldest, Logan, he just wants to be a good partner to his tamer, so we taught him all we knew about the human world. Then Haku, he wants to heal, so we taught him all we could about that. And then Bezil, he wanted to be an adventurer, so, I took him under my wing so to say, and prepared him as best I could. We do the same for the rest of our children. They pick their own destinies, so Hikaru and I help them as much as we can, so they have the best chance of succeeding in their goals."
Owen scratched the back of his head after saying that, thinking he was probably bragging too much. So, he'd add a provision onto those statements. "And if they figure out that maybe they don't really want that path? Well, that's perfectly fine, we love our kids no matter what they choose. I think that's how parents are meant to act. We're meant to support them no matter what."

Listening to the Gaomon's response, Justice was glad to hear that he and his husband supported their children's desires and actively helped them to achieve it. It honestly surprised to be perfectly honest; surprising that family relationships in the Digital World were about the same as humans; surprising that both of them allowed them to go out into the world and discover who they want to be; and surprising that no matter what hardships they would face, they will still be a pillar to support them.
It was weird. The young man was under the assumption that all fathers were dead-beats due to his leaving his life. But after hearing all that, he can tell that Owen was an amazing father figure, who would go above and beyond for his children. If only he had something like that when growing up.
"That's good to hear," Justice stated, without looking at the blue dog Digimon. "I'm happy for them. I just..." His mouth opened and closed several times, though no sound came out, and eventually he just closed his mouth, exhaling deeply. He and Gummy exchanged looks, with the Gumdramon tilting his head at Owen, beckoning him to spit out whatever it was he has to say.
"I just wish that I had someone like that in my life, encouraging my dreams, being supportive, all of that. And not someone trying to make me into something I'm not. But since I'm damn near almost twenty and already an adult, I guess it's too late for that."
He put a hand over his face and gave a defeated laugh. "Heh. Oh my life is so messed up."

Owen listened patiently to what Justice had to say. He was sympathetic to this. It seemed a major reason he was in this rut in the first place was that he just didn't have a supporting parent figure, and had seemingly given up his future because of it. A totally understandable situation.
The Gaomon then considered his next options carefully. He couldn't just... leave Justice alone in the world like this. Even though Justice was a human and Owen was a digimon, well, the Gaomon knew enough humans to know that they were alike in a lot of ways. Plus Owen had lots of experience and joy from being a father to his children. He had even adopted a couple of them who needed that parental guidance in their lives.
Then he gradually turned his thoughts into words. "Well... I could help with that." he offered, gently. "While you already might be an adult... I think? Humans are adults at 18 right? Well... from what I hear, even adult humans still benefit from parents to support them. And... it might be strange, me offering this to you, but... if you ever need advice, if you ever need help, if you just need to learn how to handle yourself in life, well, I could provide that, if you like."
Owen knew it was a rather awkward thing to ask so suddenly, so he quickly added, "I understand it's a big thing to think about, so you don't have to answer right away."
But now that he said it, Owen thought it might work out nicely. If he could provide the kind of personal support that good parents gave to their children, then that would help Justice, and therefore also help his digimon, and perhaps even he'd be indirectly helping Bezil and Gummy's relationship?

At this point, Justice wasn’t trying to make Owen feel bad for him or to gain any pity points; he just wanted someone to listen to him, to let him speak his mind freely without interruptions, and thankfully, he had three to boot. And it was true, the fact that once you turn into an adult, you’re basically on your own, with your parents providing you enough skills and guidance to forge your own path in this hard world where success means everything. That’s the point of life after all.
But with Justice, even though he was given skills, he wasn’t given the proper guidance; he was only just manipulated, controlled into becoming something that he was not instead of becoming his own person. That’s why when Owen suggested if he could become that kind of figure to him, it surprised not only him, but Vee and Gummy as well.
He picked his head up, looking at the blue dog thoughtfully for a few long seconds. “Well...I…” he chewed the corner of his mouth for a moment, considering his response carefully. He couldn’t believe it, Owen—a Digimon— was really asking if he could be something akin to a parental guardian to him. He didn’t know him well, yet he offered to welcome him with open arms?
The twins looked at Owen and then to Justice, not saying a word. This was a rather big thing to think about. But whatever decision he chooses, they’ll support him all the way.
“You really care about me that much,” Justice asked slowly, his voice wavering. He stood up and embraced the dog Digimon in a hug. Tears threatened to come down from his eyes. He tried pushing them back to no avail; they flowed down freely. “I wanted to say I’ll think about it, but I’d be lying to myself if I did. I would love that so much, man. Before meeting Vee and Gummy, I’ve always felt so alone despite being with my family. I’ve always told myself that I didn’t need anyone to take care of me, but all I ever wanted was somebody’s shoulder to cry on.”

Owen awaited the reply with baited breath. He'd totally understand if this was something too much for Justice, if he'd want to find a human who could better fit this role. After all, an adult human having a digimon for a guardian? That...
...That was just exactly how most humans with digimon partners worked. Only of course, Owen as a solo digimon was free to use his power as he saw fit, while Vee and Gummy were bound to Justice by their situation. And, as the Gaomon thought about it, he saw fit to use his many years of experience as a father to his children to be of help to Justice.
To Owen's relief, Justice seemed open to that arrangement. He asked if he cared about him that much. "Yeah... I do." Owen admitted. "Even though I only just really got to know you now... there still remains the fact that your partner and my son love each other, so that brings our lives together. And... now that I know just how much you've suffered, it'd be horrible of me to not offer this, if that makes sense, especially when I have both the motivation and capability of giving you what you need."
He saw Justice cry again, and to this, Owen offered another hug. If accepted, he'd cry a little himself. "You'll always have my shoulder, mate." he said, gently.

Seeing the sight of Justice and Owen embracing, the twins couldn't help but feel their heartstrings being tugged, with Vee wiping away a tear and Gummy giving a gentle smile. This arrangement, though a bit bizarre, was something they knew that their Tamer really needed--all of them needed it.
Before all this, the young man would never talk about his family, always mentioning that he either didn't feel like it, or just change the topic entirely. Now they know why. He had been hiding so much pain that not even they could feel it until yesterday when he finally began to open up. And now that he finally broke down the walls with them, the pain hurt so much more for them. But with that hurt, they felt more connected now than ever. Thing would get better from here.
When Justice released Owen from the hug, the twins responded with their own embrace, with Vee jumping to his face, licking him nonstop and Gummy hugging him. The sudden surprise was enough to knock Justice off of his feet, falling to the floor.
"So, you feel any better now?" Gummy asked, giving a cheeky grin. "If not, we could always wrestle it out of ya. They say fighting's another way to let out any pent up feelings."
Justice rubbed his face off from Vee's saliva before looking up to him. "No, no, I'm good." he groaned. "Besides, with you, you might just strangle it out of me."
Vee touched Justice's cheeks with his fist, getting his attention. "You can be an idiot sometimes, but we're still your partners. Just remember that no matter what pain you're feeling, no matter how much how hard you tried to push it down, know that we'll be here to take it. That's our job, Justice." He smiled.
"Yeah," Gummy concurred. "We may not understand you humans, but there's no hurt in trying to. Hide your feelings like that again and I'll give you an explosive tail hammer that'll make you realize for sure, ya dig?"
The Gumdramon extended his clutched paw out. Justice paused before giving him a fist bump, smirking. "Yeah, thanks you guys."

While this was something of a new situation for Owen, it just felt right for him. From what the Gaomon had learned, Justice had never known what it was like to have a loving family. And while all he had to offer was something of a substitute, well, he was damn determined to make it work.
Owen stood back while Justice worked out the new situation with his partners. He smiled, glad that there was at least a lot of love between them. Owen didn't know all there was to know about the bonds between humans and their partner digimon, but, he knew at least that if they acted as friendly as this to each other, there'd be a high chance of success for them.
When the bonding eased up a little, Owen would then clear his throat to gain their attention, then make his suggestions as to how to make this work practically.
"Alright, now that we've come to an agreement, I think it's best that we know each others' itineraries." he said. "For now, Justice, I think it'd be best if you stayed here in Ys for a little while and get to know a few others here. But, of course, you don't have to, if you have business elsewhere. I totally understand."
After all, Owen knew that this gathering was organized against Justice's knowledge. If he had important things to attend to, he would gladly let him do so. It was just that he feared that if Justice left now, he wouldn't be as open to making new bonds then as he would be now. But, of course, he didn't want to make him or his partners do anything against their will. All he could do was let them know what he could provide.

Truth be told, Justice couldn't help but feel a little strange about this situation. First he was weeping his eyes out, regretting to be apart of the so-called "family" his parents brought him into, and now Owen was accepting him into his family, with his two Digimon happily supporting it. Honestly this was the best thing he could do for himself to get out of that toxic relationship with his mom, if he could ever call it that. It was time for him to be happy for a change.
The three of them listened to Owen, who suggested that it would be good for Justice to stay in Ys and get to know others around here. While the offer was nice, Justice shook his head, declining.
"Sorry, but I'm in the middle of moving in to a friend's place." Justice replied. "Not that I don't like the offer, I really do, but I still got a bunch of things to pack, plus I promised my residential advisor that I'd be out three days from now. Otherwise they'll fined my ass, and you do not want to mess with college dorms. If you even leave a trash basket, they'll charge you crazy amounts."
Vee and Gummy blinked simultaneously upon hearing that. Man, who knew living in the human world was that expensive. And even though they've made significant progress, they could see on the human's face that he wasn't exactly a hundred percent after that emotional outburst. "Why is that a big reason to go so soon?" the Gumdramon asked Justice. "You know we have all the time in the world here, right?
"What do you mean?" Justice asked, raising an eyebrow.
Gummy slapped a hand to his forehead in exasperation. "HELLOOOOO? Time flows differently in the Digital World than in your world. One week here is like a day over there."
Justice blinked in disbelief, staring off into blank space for a bit before turning back to Gummy. "Seriously?"
"YES! SERIOUSLY, YOU NUMSKULL!" Gummy exclaimed, pointing at him. You mean to tell us that you've never noticed whenever we go and come back?!"
Justice was left flabbergasted, opening and closing his mouth, trying to take this all in. "Huh..." was all he could say.
'"HUH??' You mother--"Gummy stretched out his eyelids, groaning in frustration, trying his best not blow up.
Vee shook his head, trying to hold back his laughter. "Classic Justice. One moment he's smart, the other, he's a dumb dumb."
Justice puffed his face in embarrassment, before turning back to Owen. "Well, I guess I'll take up your offer now after hearing that. But uhh, got a question: who exactly do you want me to meet? This is a busy place, so I doubt anyone here has time to chat with a human like me."

Owen had to mask his awkwardness pretty strongly here at Justice's words. In that moment, he had realized that he had pretty heavily infringed on an important moment in Justice's life, what with him moving into another house, and having to be in contact with a residential advisor on top of that. While Owen didn't understand what that entailed, well, he wouldn't hold him up any longer.
"Ah, of course. If you have business you need to attend to, please, don't let me stop you." he said, bowing a little in apology.
Then Gummy pointed out that time flowed differently between the human world and digital world. Justice only then realized it. Then Owen just remembered that it was so, and attempted to pretend that he had always known it.
"Yes, of course, you have seven times the amount of time you think you have in the digital world." the Gaomon explained. And he was glad that with this new knowledge, Justice was willing to take him up on that offer to meet others around Ys.
When Justice questioned who would want to talk to him, Owen could think of multiple people at once. "Well, first there's my own father, Sten the WereGarurumon, I'm sure he'd like to know you and take you under his wing." he began. "And my husband Hikaru, I'm sure he'd want to know you too. Ah yes, and Bezil, if he's in the city. I'm sure he'd love to know how things stand with us, given how much he's been gushing to me about how he likes Gummy." the Gaomon winked to the Gumdramon.
But it seemed their first contacts appeared when Owen opened the door, and saw two digimon with their ears pressed up to it. Little digimon with yellow and white fur, both with the red eyes of their Dorumon papa.
"Ah, Matty and Jimmy, glad to see you've been keeping up with matters..." Owen said in a calm but shrewd voice, his face indicating he didn't really appreciate them eavesdropping.
"Oh come on, dad, you're in there adopting a human, we had to check it out!" Matty pleaded in response. Owen sighed, supposing there was nothing he could do to change this situation.
"Well then. Guess we have our first meeting already set out." he said to Justice. "These are my twin sons, Matty and Jimmy. And you two, this is Justice, and his partners Vee and Gummy. I gather you've heard already, but, we've agreed to add him to the care of our family."
"Oh sweet! That's awesome!" Jimmy exclaimed, zipping around the three of Justice, Vee and Gummy. "I've always wanted to know what it's like to have a human brother! Although... does he count as a brother, dad?"
"Well, guess it depends on what Justice wants." Owen shrugged. Matty meanwhile was paying more attention to Vee and Gummy.
"So, uh, if they're part of our family now, what does that make these guys?" the Onmon asked, curiously. "I mean... Bezil's boyfriend can't be our brother too, right?"
"Well, that's true..." Owen answered patiently. "But, if Bezil and Gummy decide to make their relationship official, that would make them your brothers-in-law, at least I think...?" it was a little too much to take in at the moment. "Anyway, you shouldn't have been eavesdropping, boys. Please don't do that again."
Realizing from his stern voice that they had genuinely transgressed here, they both hung their heads in apology and said they were sorry. This being good enough for Owen, he nodded in forgiveness. At this, Matty ran to Vee, asking him where he had got his sweet scarf from. Jimmy did the same to Gummy, asking where he had obtained his awesome goggles. The Gaomon grinned at Justice.
"Well, these two seem to like you and your partners so far." he stated.

While the revelation of time moving differently here in the Digital World compared to the human world was interesting, Justice still couldn’t shake of the embarrassment off of not knowing it before hand. You’d think after first meeting Vee and Gummy, it would have been something he would have noticed the first time he came back home, or the other times before hand. That knowledge would have been really helpful during his studies this semester, but it was already over it, so he decided to take this moment in as a learning experience for next time.
One thing’s for sure though, at least time would be on his side for a change.
With his question, Owen then responded by saying he could meet with his father, Sten, a WereGarurumon so he could take him under his wing; his husband, Hikaru, whom he mentioned earlier; and Bezil, who was now Gummy’s boyfriend. In fact, the mention of the latter was enough to make Gummy blush a ton in response.
“R-Really?” Gummy gleamed in excitement, but then dialed it back down, clearing his throat. “I mean, really, huh? Heh, I can’t blame though. I am one handsome Digimon to boot after all, enough to make the guys go swoon~”
“You look like a marketable plushie if you ask me.” Vee remarked, rolling his eyes. Gummy shot a glare at him, to which Vee immediantly gave back, sticking his tongue out too add to injury.
Justice sighed in response. But just as they were about to leave, they found that they were not alone, as two yellow Digimon--one who was feline-esque in appearance with blasters on its hands, the other who was rabbit-like with an extra pair of arms on its head--fell into the room. Vee tilted his head in confusion while Gummy simply frowned at them. From the looks of it, the two have been spying on them, something that Justice didn’t like. Just how long have those two been here exactly? Judging from the feline, long enough.
Owen introduced the two as his sons, Matty and Jimmy. Justice was taken a bit by surprise by their energy. It reminded him of Vee and Gummy when they first met. “Uhh, hey. Nice to meet you,” he said, in a polite, but quiet manner. “And ditto, I don’t know what its like to have a brother for a Digimon, but I think we’ll work it through smoothly I hope.”
The Onmon, Matty, quires if Vee and Gummy were their brothers now too. Vee, totally. But Gummy, probably not since he was dating Bezil. Gummy turned away, his cheeks burning red at the implication of marriage between the two. “Well...um...you see…”
Vee came to Gummy’s aid. “Well I think for my little bro, even if its not official yet, treat him like a brother-in-law anyway. But for me, I’m more than happy to have more silbings! More eyes to amaze!” He pointed at Gummy. “This one here is such a stick-up-the-mud that it’s almost impossible to impress him.” Gummy simply rolled his eyes,un-amused.
Soon enough, the four began conversing with one another, with Matty and Jimmy asking where Vee and Gummy got their respective apparel from, to which the two of the responded by stating they stole from a merchant a long time ago, who was selling clothes from the human world. In between them, Owen smiled at Justice, stating that the two liked them so far. Justice agreed. “Yeah. They remind me a lot when I first met Vee and Gummy. It’s...kind of odd. I mean, your kids don’t know anything about me, but that didn’t stop them from welcoming me with open arms, like you did so with me. It's so surreal that I feel like I don't deserve any of this. I..."
He choked up, trying to hold back his tears. “I really don’t know how to thank you.”

Owen grinned at Gummy when he swelled with pride and declaring himself handsome. "No need to put up the bravado, mate, I know my son, and if he likes you that much, then I know you're a damn good digimon." he assured him.
In truth, Bezil hadn't told him much at all about Gummy, staying true to his word that he told little about his secrets. It was from the looks of longing and excitement from Bezil that told Owen all he needed to know, that Bezil was genuinely in love. And he didn't feel the need to inquire further.
When Matty and Jimmy intruded on the scene, thankfully it seemed to settle over smoothly. The Onmon and Musimon were apologetic for their infringements, and it seemed to be mostly forgiven.
Matty for instance was delighted with the prospect of Justice as a brother. "Yeah! I mean... you humans have so much more experience than us digimon at the same level of maturity..." he gushed. "I mean, you're like 20 years old, right? My brother and I are just 2 years old, I'm sure you've got loads of experiences to share!"
When Vee and Gummy explained themselves, well, Vee explained most of it, that helped them with their perspective. In fact they took his word that Gummy was hard to impress as a challenge. "Well, give us a chance and I'm sure we'll impress you, Gummy!" Jimmy declared. For the twins, they were at least willing to give the Gumdramon a chance to see how great they could be.
Then they revealed that they stole their garments from the human world. Both of the twins were understanding of this though. "Ahh, right, because humans don't deal with digimon well in their world, right?" Matty asked. While of course he and Jimmy didn't think much of stealing, well, they were both open to such situations where it was impossible to do otherwise to survive.
Owen, while a little disturbed by his son's reasoning here still paid attention to Justice. He said that he didn't feel that he deserved this acceptance, tearing up again. Owen offered another hug patiently. "Mate, everyone deserves something good to happen to them. Even if you don't think you deserve it, well, from what I know about you, I think you do, so I'm gladly offering all this to you."
Owen thought further that in doing so, he would make the world even better by giving Justice a chance of succeeding in this tumultuous world with his support. There were a lot of digimon that disliked humans having free reign after all. Perhaps by some kind of naive youthful thought, if Owen could prove without contradiction that humans and digimon could coexist seamlessly, it'd prove a point to the enemy, well, that was a factor. But, for the most part, he just wanted to help this vulnerable human win this immediate battle with his situation.
"So then." he began, once they had settled down their chats. "I've looked at my D-Terminal and Bezil's just checked in nearby, so, feel like a meeting with him when he's ready?" Owen asked the group.
