Honestly she wasn’t expecting them to accept her request for a table. She hadn’t been there in years and they probably didn’t remember her. So imagine her surprise when the place actually accepted her reservation and with a guest! They seemed pleased she was inviting someone from outside their knowledge… But then again she figured they wouldn’t keep the same tune for too long. A lot of them were pricks and she hated that sort of thing. But she felt like justice could use some coddling.
They had been living with one another for a bit; she couldn’t really remember when he had moved in but she didn’t much care. The few times her grandparents had come over he had been at school or asleep… Which was something she had grown used to. Used to avoiding bringing up to him and hopefully he wouldn’t notice that she simply lacked the drive to sleep herself. Maybe his mons noticed and maybe they said something but…
It was the day of the reservation, she had set it up at five and well… Now it was 230pm and Justice still wasn’t up. Still snoozing away; he had been doing that a lot more lately. She’d frown and check the clock; it had taken her about an hour to get ready. Running the brushes through her hair, getting it shampooed… and then her dress. The dress she hated to wear back when she was still human but now…
The gentle feel of the fabric against her holosuit which was also lost to her was something she wished for dearly that she could feel once more. She’d grit her teeth… 231… 232… 235… She’d walk up to his door and with a resounding knock followed by her practically busting the door open with the force she was able to putt out with her small body.
”OI JUSTICE WHAT GIVES? DID YOU NOT GET MY TEXT OR SOMETHIN?”
Angry. Wearing a dress and definitely the sort that would assume too much, she figured he was still in bed and since it was sunday he wouldn’t need to get up for class but… She had texted him this morning about getting ready for it but from her place at the door she could see that his phone was nowhere in sight.
”Fuckin… Justice. Are you even conscious?”
Her anger was simmering and she was pretty damn close to just yanking off his sheets and dressing him herself!

The room was dark and chilly, filled with stale afternoon air. The summer heat had been taking its toll, and the air conditioning was cranked up at all times.
He had woken slowly, unsure as to why, and now lay staring, bewildered and somewhat disoriented, into the gloom of the bedroom. Luminous green LCD lights shone at him from the bedside table, telling him it was only just two o'clock ― too early to be awake, especially on a Sunday.
Yet he could hear movement outside of the room, footsteps scurrying down up stairs, and the other side of the bed was empty. It was still warm though, meaning either one of his partners had left a short time ago, most likely Vee.
He rose slowly into a sitting position, still wrapped in his covers like being in a cocoon and taking in the room around him, the chest of drawers opposite, and the sliding doors which opened up the built-in wardrobe. Clothes were folded neatly on the armchair as he had left them the previous night, and the books waiting to go back down to the 'bookstore' were located on his desk, stacked from largest to smallest.
The semester ended yesterday. Everyone in his abroad program was already packing their things preparing to fly back to the states. But for Justice, he decided to stay here, not wanting to go back to his family—his mom especially.
Pulling the drawer in the bedside table, he pulled out a small framed photograph, and tucked the covers over him, burying himself, and stared at the old photograph.
It was a picture of him and his entire family when he was a kid; a time where his ignorance was innocent and blissful. A time when he remembered where he was the happiest. A time where his parents were still together.
Tears began to well up in his eyes. They flowed freely, dripping onto the old frame. Ever since his intervention with Owen, he’d been crying a lot lately to himself, tears that he kept at bay for many years like a dam, only for a heavy force to allow it to break. What he really would give to turn back time just to relive those times before his world slowly began to fall apart.
He couldn’t lament in silence for too long, as he heard knocking on the door. He didn’t answer. The door then suddenly burst open with the force of a Greek Spartan. It was Palicae, and she sounds ticked off, but for what reason?
Slowly, Justice began to pull down the covers from his face, with tears still in his eyes. His eyes slowly glimmered to what he was seeing. She was wearing a dress, with her hair nearly brushed and combed, matching the color of her dress.
He wiped any loose tears on his face, looking at his phone. “Sorry. My phone is on silent, so the notification didn’t wake me up…” His voice was quiet, almost like a whisper.

Okay maybe what she saw wasn’t what she was expecting; maybe what she thought was him being on his computer and chilling with his two mons. Not in bed and being very quiet. Everything about this situation had palicae take a moment to scan over the room.
Neat folded clothes, some books on his desk. Stacked nicely and there just seemed to be this oddness to the room for a moment. She’d grit her teeth and well. She saw those tears; she wanted to say something or do something but her frustrations seemed to well up and the small woman huffed.
She had lost some serious steam but honestly her anger was still present. It would take hours for some people to get ready but she figured all he needed was a shower and maybe some food in him to get better.
”Shit. Well. Next time I should just bloody knock when I need you to get up rather than text yah.”
The magnamon-x stepped into the room and would take a seat on the edge of the bed. There was a slight shift from her weight and the mon rubbed at her neck. She was still in the sort of way that she really wanted to go out and drag him along but…
”Tch. Well Justice we’ve got dinner reservations in pretty darn soon. Think you can get dressed and in a suit ‘fore long?”
The young woman raised a brow and shook her head. Usually it was the opposite in these sorts of situations where the lady wouldn’t be ready yet. It was kinda amusing to her but at the same time she wondered to herself why she even made the reservations in the first place!
”And don’t worry about Gum n Vee, the netflix sub got re-established and the ps4 is finished updating so they should be fine for the duration of the date.”
Right did she even tell him that they were going out? That she was going to ask if he needed or wanted more stuff? Maybe even get it set proper that he was actually living here? Her parents didn’t care who lived in the house given that it was technically palicae’s but….
”Goin out would probably be good for yah.”

Justice gave an audible grunt, agreeing to Palicae. He made sure to put his phone on silent every night before bed so he wouldn't be awaken by some notifications in the middle of the night. If he didn't, it would be annoying to have his phone chiming, brightening up the room, forcing him to reach for it, only for it to show that someone on social media liked a photo or tweet of his. It was annoying. Though had he known that Palicae was gonna wake him up, he would have turned silent off, just this once.
He shifted himself up, leaning his back against the bed frame when Pal sat on the edge of the bed. He stretched and ruffled his bed-head. He made sure she kept the frame photograph of his family hidden beneath the blankets. He wasn't ready to open that can of worms with her, not yet anyway.
His dimmed eyes lit up when she revealed she got dinner reservations for the both of them. So that's why she was dressed. "Reservations? Why didn't you told me this yesterday if that was our plan for today? I would have gotten up early if I had know." He gave a yawn, rubbing his eyes. "But yeah, I'll get ready. Give me like an hour."
With Vee and Gummy, Pal mentioned that they'll have Netflix and the PS4 to keep them entertained while they were on their date. He can hear them all the way upstairs, most likely getting in to one of their "intense discussions."
"I guess..." Justice half-hearty respond to her. He got up from his bed, grabbed a clean pair of an undershirt and underwear, and went into the bathroom on the opposite side of the hallway, turning on the shower. It was clear that today, he wasn't in his happy-go-lucky mood. Rather, he was a bit depressed. But for Pal's sake, he wasn't gonna let that get in the way. Perhaps it would be good to get out of the house for a few hours.

Honestly she couldn’t stay mad at Justice; he was looking like shit and his tone made it seem like something was wrong. Inwardly she hoped that he’d at least be able to cheer up a bit from them going out. She was trying her hardest to at least be… well a good friend. Roommate. Whatever it was that you’d call the two of them.
”Thought I did. Dunno man, been a bit busy so it couldda slipped my mind.”
Palicae shrugged and looked at the invisible watch on her wrist; she didn’t much care if they got there late. The tables would last until the place damn well closed; that’s how a lot of fancy places did it when you paid the big bucks. That or they were just doing it cause of who her parents were. If it was the latter she would probably get mad at it.
”Aight, I’m gonna go fiddle with finances a bit then.”
She gave him a small shrug and then watched him for a moment before leaving; she didn’t want to push him too hard buuuut… It might be very good for him for someone to take the reins by the way he was acting. Or maybe just a good time. She’d consider briefly while she was walking down the stairs where else they could go…
...Digital world might… not be the best choice tch… Wonder if the cherry blossoms are blooming yet.
If they were it’d be easy for her to just drag him to the park and have them just take in the scenery. If not there was plenty of places she could take them. Making sure that everything was in her purse and that she had ample cash for if they wanted a taxi [or some other mode of transport] for later. She figured that he might get clonked out cold if they stayed out late enough.
Finances or no, small bits or no. One thing popped into her head and she’d frown. The issue with her body; or rather the issue with what that monster did to her body. How to even bring that up to him? Could she even? It’d eventually happen if they went to the digital world and she’d just close her eyes with a sigh.
”Hmm… how to even approach that…”

Justice spent the next ten minutes in the shower, enjoying the warm, steamy water as it rinsed all over his body. After he was showered, he began to do the little commodities, like brushing his teeth, putting on mouthwash, and doing his hair. The latter especially took a little bit more since he had to wash out the conditioner in his hair after leaving it in for about twenty minutes.
As he styled his hair, he began to ask himself what was the best approach to open up to Palicae. She knew something was up with him, that was fact, and it was only a matter of time before she asks why was she saw him with tears in his eyes. Man, how was he gonna tell her that a few days ago, he had a mental breakdown due to the pain and misery he had held deep within for many years taking a toll on him mentally? How will she even react? Should he just keep it under the rug and tell her at a later date?
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Worst comes to show, I'll just let it happen." he said to himself.
Stepping out of the bathroom, Justice was dressed in a grey blazer, a black turtle neck tee, grey wool pants, and black dress shoes. He didn't opt to put on a tie, since he never learned how to put on one. After spraying a bit of cologne, he grabbed his wallet and phone and headed downstairs.
Coming down the last steps, he saw Vee and Gummy on the couch watching a movie on Netflix. The twins caught a whiff of the cologne he had on and turned around to see him.
"JUSTICE!" Vee chirped happily, jumping up to hug him. Justice gave a soft smile and patted his head in return. Gummy flew up and gave him a fist bump.
"Well look who came back into the world of the living." Gummy said with a peppy grin on his face. "We'd thought you never wake up. We were placing bets on what time you would wake up." He pointed to Vee. "He won from the looks of it since i thought you would wake up around 6."
"Yep! And I was only an hour off!" Vee said. He scanned Justice, realizing that he was't dress in his regular clothes, or even pajamas for that manner. It clicked in his head. "So you're going out with Pal, huh?
Justice nodded. "Looks like it. She told me she got dinner reservations to this restaurant, so we'll be gone for a few hours."
The twins turned to each other then looked at Justice with concern on their faces. Usually they would teased their tamer since they had a feeling that him and Pal would eventually be a thing, but not this time."Are you gonna be fine without us," Vee asked, "I mean...are you feeling any better from the talk we had with Owen?"
"I'll manage," Justice reassured them. That was enough to lift any worries from the two. If Pal was with him, then they had nothing to worry about, especially since they knew what she is.
Justice then went into the kitchen, where Palicae was doing some bills. "Hey Pal, you still need a minute with what you're doing?"

Pal could hear the shower start up and she’d shake her head; honestly if she had waited any longer they would have been cutting into their own time. She’d have to make note to tell him about this sort of stuff beforehand. Maybe the next time the two of them went on a date? The red head paused and blinked; flushing a bit as she realized yes this was exactly what they were doing. But she wasn’t going to tell him that; or at least. Maybe… Well. It was kinda something that they probably both assumed it was!
”Tch… next thing you know we’re going to be calling each other boyfriend girlfriend…”
She’d pause and blink as she didn’t find any disagreement anywhere in her head and only huffed a little louder as she accidentally splotched the paper with her pen. She’d lean back and stare at the ceiling. Financially speaking she was very well off even after paying for this restaurant reservation, the time and paid ahead of time for pretty much anything the two could collectively order. Then again with both of her parents being high paid doctor pharmaceutical development types… She’d sigh softly and rub her neck as she could hear Vee from the kitchen.
”Loud… but friendly at least.”
She’d shake her head and get back to it; mulling over some little bits. So far she wasn’t even remotely close to breaking even. With all she had saved and what her parents were just shoving her way. Maybe she should consider going to school? She’d have to talk to them about it…. If she could even get their attention for a moment.
Her head would jerk as she just finished up, as justice came in. She could smell him before seeing him and she’d stare at him for a moment. He certainly cleaned up swimmingly. She almost wanted to take a picture… In fact that wasn’t a bad idea. Breaking her phone out of her purse the young woman took a moment to get next to him.
”More or less just finished. Say cheese.”
He’d get maybe a second or two to prep before she snapped a picture of the two of them. She’d stretch for a moment and then grin at him. Phone still in hand she had another thing that needed to get taken care of!
”Gotta say you clean up real nice. Lemme just call a cab and then we can wait curbside yeah?”

“Cheese?” Justice repeated, he arched an eyebrow and realized that Pal was about to take a selfie with him and only had a few seconds to prepare. He put his hand over his mouth, giving a peace sign. He wished she had given enough time for Vee and Gummy to get in, since they were excited for him to be finally getting out of the house. But still, there was something about Pal’s smile that made him forget about that. It was only under the lights that shined above the ceiling did he realize how beautiful she is. Just...wow.
He returned the smile to her when she commented that he looked nice. “Ah, thanks, you as well.” Justice said. “Since we’re going out to eat, I’d figured I go above and beyond. Way better than what I was back upstairs, huh?”
She then said that she’ll call a cab to pick them up outside. “Alright, sounds good,” he responded. He then went into the living room where Vee and Gummy finally settled on what to watch on Netflix.
“Alright you guys, we’ll be gone for a few hours. I’ll bring back some take-out from that restaurant we’re going to, but promise me you two won’t cause any trouble while we’re gone.”
Gummy loudly exhaled. “Yeah, yeah, no need to have a cork up your butt. Besides, when’s the last time we caused any trouble?”
Justice crossed his arms. “Remember back in the dorms where a few people woke up being ducked taped to their beds with their faces crudely painted like a clown?”
The drakes looked at each other for a minute before turning back to their Tamer. “We can neither confirm nor deny that.” Vee replied, before breaking off into a giggle. Gummy rolled his eyes.
“Well that confessions out of the bag. Anyhow…” Gummy climbed up Justice’s shoulders. “We’ll keep the fort down while you two potential lovebirds get to know each other.”
“Yeah!” Vee jumped into Justice’s arms. “Don’t worry about that pretty black hair of yours, you two just have a good time. Sounds good?” The Veemon then licked his face a few times, ushering Justice to put him down so he wouldn’t be covered in Digi-saliva.
“Will do.”

Pal gave a small nod at that little question; her grin was still plastered on her face due to the selfie and once it was taken she’d check it out. It looked nice and she’d show it to justice; the grin turning into a surprisingly sweet smile. She was enjoying herself when he was around so why wouldn’t she take a picture for when the two of them weren’t about?
”Well thank you. Definitely; given that you looked like you had just risen from the dead!”
There was a soft laugh and she’d pat one of his shoulders, she figured that he’d take a little bit of time to talk to gummy and vee so she’d step outside to make that call. It wasn’t hard to find a cab willing to take them; it’d be a short wait given the density of traffic around this time. She had picked the time for their ‘date’ based on this fact… that and she had figured that justice would be awake.
”It’s going to be nice going out again…”
She mumbled to herself; she felt her cheeks turning a little red as she felt herself thinking an extra bit on the end of that and just shook her head. She had been meaning to talk to justice about this for a few days now and could never really get up the courage to do so. It wasn’t a topic she felt she could approach easily so she needed a little time. How did you tell someone that you liked them a lot? How did you not make it weird between the two of them who at this point were just friends?
Well the majority of her felt that last part wouldn’t remain the same for very long; in fact as the cab started to make it’s way down to her house she’d turn to glance back at where the door was. Five minutes or so wasn’t a long time but.. It was enough to get her head screwed on straight about all this nonsense.
Did she talk to him about it on the ride there? Or did she wait to do so when they were sitting down? They’d have the privacy in either place; the magnamon-x getting somewhat nervous as they would inevitably get into the car together. Her looking out of a window with one hand on her lap and the other resting on the seat between the two of them.
She looked oddly thoughtful; then again if the other had noticed she had been this way for the last few days. It wasn’t just this on her mind; how did she break it to him that she was interested romantically and that she was basically a robot digimon that could shoot missiles or lasers from her body? She felt herself mumbling a bit as the ride continued...
”Movies make this look so damn easy...”

As the cab arrived outside of the house, Vee and Gummy waved goodbye to both Justice and Palicae as they went out the door. Hearing them talk about what show they should watch next through the door, Justice couldn’t help but see a little of himself and his siblings when their mom would go out, giving them free reins of the house until she got back. It was those times where he didn’t feel pressured under the boot of his mom and just did whatever. It was those times where he really got close with his brother and sister really, so seeing that, he hoped that both the dragon brothers would enjoy themselves while they were gone, as long as they didn’t get into trouble, that is.
The two got into the cab and they were off. It didn’t take too long for the cab to get here, only five minutes. He reminded himself to tip the cab driver when they arrived at the restaurant since it’s courteous. Hell, if it’s something that his shitty mom taught him, it was to always tip customer service since they don’t make a whole lot.
He placed his elbow on the door handle, looking out the window. It was a peaceful afternoon. Nevertheless, this was something that he needed to do: have a good mood for the rest of the day. Everything that happened with that intervention with Owen, sweep it under the rug. That was all in the past and he had looked into the here and now. No sad story. no mopey shit. Nothing.
He placed his other hand onto the middle of the seat, not knowing that Pal had placed her hand there well. Realizing that his hand was on top of hers, he quickly pulled back, a little embarrassed.
“Sorry, sorry! Didn’t you have your hand on the middle seat as well.” He said. His cheeks turned red, a hint to Palicae that he was just as lost when it came to this sort of thing as her. After a few moments, he scratched his head before continuing.
“S-so this restaurant...I’m guessing that it's a fancy restaurant since it requires us to dress up. What’s this restaurant called anyway?”

Pal would wave back at the two; a small but rare smile creeping onto her face. It was funny to her that these two were so peppy about watching stuff on netflix. She wondered what they’d get up to with justice and pal being out of sight and out of mind. She was glad that they could get some time to themselves; both the twins and… well justice and pal. She felt herself get a slight flush as she realized what she almost had thought of. Right that was the entire point of this date; confirming or not that they were a thing.
But Justice probably didn’t know that; why would he?
She had never brought it up to him; that she felt this way and she knew that he probably was in the same boat. Unable to really address it without a good prompt. She’d keep staring out of the window; she felt that there was something else she needed to talk to justice about. Her… condition of things. One after the other; one before the other. Her emotions and feelings and then…
She’d blink a bit as he spoke; turning her head as she realized that he had his hand on hers. She’d grin a little bit and reach over to steal that hand from him again. Giving it a small squeeze.
”You’re fine justice. Just relax and have a good time right?”
A small chuckle and if he didn’t stop her she’d hold his hand all the way to the restaurant. It being lost in the background as he spoke to her; well maybe to her given that she couldn’t physically feel anything with how her body worked.
”It’s very fancy. Called the Loyalist. My mother and father used to take me there all the time as a kid. It’s been around since before they were born or something. I think it’s name changed a few times too. It doesn’t require you to dress up, last time I went there it was in my sweater, skin tight suit and flip flops.
She looked unsure for a moment about the name and she’d continue to stare at him; getting a somewhat bemused grin.
”Don’t worry, I’m not making you pay either. Already talked to my parents about the expenses for it. Unsurprisingly they seemed fine with it; I think they were figuring I just wanted to go by myself… Can’t imagine why you’d go to one of these places on your own.”

Justice felt a sense of relief when Pal grabbed his hand, telling him he was alright. He felt his heart flutter for a moment at just how cute she was. He wrapped his fingers around hers, holding it as well. It was such a warm and nice feeling, enough for a slight blush to appear on his face.
“Right, my bad,” he remarked, returning the smile back. He didn’t know why he’d reacted like that. It was probably a combination of nervousness and fear of embarrassing himself which caused him to jump like that. Then again, this was the first time in a long time that he was with another girl going out since high school. He chuckled to himself. Man he’s been out of the game for awhile.
Pal answered his question by saying the restaurant was called The Loyalist and it was indeed a fancy restaurant. She mentioned that her family used to take her there all the time as a kid, and that it doesn’t require customers to dress up. “So like a four or five star restaurant, nice. Though to be fair, the fancy restaurants that I’ve been to back when I was living in the States required people to dress accordingly, so hearing that it’s optional is nice. But then again, it’d be cool if we were the only ones that showed up all fancy like. Makes us stand out more, hehe~”
At the hearing that Pal’s parents are covering the expenses for it, Justice raised an eyebrow of intriguement. “Fuck yeah That means we can eat as much as we want!” he beamed with excitement. “Now I’m glad that I didn’t wake up early to eat anything; that’ll make the food even more satisfying to eat.”
The young man engaged his eyes, assumed a serene smile. “Say, how come you’ve never told your parents about me yet?” He asked. “I know they’re too busy with work and shit, but I think they’ll love to meet me and know you’re not a basement dweller.”
Man, just looking at her beautiful face was beginning to make his heart beat faster. Yup, they were totally out on a date.

Pal smiled warmly as she noted that justices fingers wrapped around hers. It sucked that she couldn’t feel this but seeing that honestly brought such a rare smile to her face that she just… Well. She cursed her inability for the simple things at this point.
”No worries.”
Was all she could really say to that; her attention had been drawn from the windows to well… Justice now. Since they were actually talking and interacting. The young woman could hear the driver chuckle in the front even through the window. Pal had actually never been on a date proper so she was kind of going through this piece by piece!
”I think it’s classified as a five star; but I could be wrong. I think here it’s more as long as you show respect they’re more okay with your dress. It would be cool! Why do you think I asked you to get dressed all fancy like?”
The red head let out a chuckle and rubbed at her neck; yeah that did mean that they could eat as much as they wanted. They literally could eat whatever or however much they wanted; they could order all sorts of crazy foods. Her parents literally didn’t care as they had set aside a good chunk just for her. Well for them now she guessed.
”Yeah I had hid all the forks, spoons and knives so you wouldn’t be able to just in case. That’s what I was doing in the kitchen before finances…”
She didn’t want him to ruin the chances of a really good meal, five star or not. A lot of stuff lost it’s charm once it was microwave. She’d lose her smile and sigh as he asked about her parents.
”Well I did say that I was seeing someone, that they had moved in. And when asking for the money for this well… I got an automated response from their secretary so uhm… I guess they know but don’t really care. There’s such a disconnect between the three of us that I think unless I get married it won’t jolt them out of their work.”
She’d shake her head and give him a somewhat sad smile.
”Gotta save the world from itself right? Oh! Looks like we’re here!”
She felt a bit of relief when the front of the loyalist pulled into view, she’d hand the driver the money for the drive with a rather generous tip before stepping out of the car… She didn’t like talking about her parents or what they did; they were so far removed she might as well just be an orphan with a huge trust fund at this point.
Well if it wasn’t for her grandparents across the street; she had told them about justice and they were willing to meet him… In fact that was one of the set of people that were here tonight. But they’d be coming in near the end of their meal so the two lovebirds could enjoy it to the fullest!

With Pal’s response, saying that she hid all of the kitchen utensils before they left, Justice gave out a loud snort, trying his best not to break down in laughter. “You’re a sly fox, you know that?” he said. “Then that means you haven’t eaten all day then, huh? Is this part of your master plan to build up our appetites? If so, you’re a master strategist.”
He looked at the window, seeing that they were now in downtown Shibuya. “I bet Vee and Gummy are wondering where the forks and spoons are at right now. Gummy’s probably like, ‘Dammit I bet it was Specs that did it; I’m kicking his ass’”, and Vee’s probably like, ‘“He was in the shower, numb-nuts, so it was definitely Palicae.”’ He tried his best to imitate their voices. Gummy’s especially was too hard to pull off due to the Gumdramon sounding like a girl-ish tomboy.
Hearing that Pal did in fact tell her folks about him, but only gave an automated response from one of their secretaries, Justice gave a look of disapproval. “Huh...” That was all he said until he thought of his response carefully. “No offense, but your parents are a pair of assholes. Like shit, they should at least message you or something, saying that they’re happy for you if they’re that busy, but I guess that’s too hard for them.”
He couldn’t help but get a little defensive for Pal since he knows what it's like to be ignored by your own folks. Even with her smile, he could tell that she was trying to hide the pain of her parents neglecting her. If he was her, he would march down to wherever they were working at and set some things straight, even if he was screaming at the top of his lungs.
Regardless, hearing her voice light up made him immediately turn to the window, seeing the restaurant. After Pal gave the driver her tip, Justice gave him as well, knowing that he didn’t have enough Yen to give. If he didn’t, we would have come off as an asshole.
Stepping out of the card, he still held her hand, not wanting to let go. Now getting a good view of the restaurant, he let out an impressive whistle. “Dang, you weren’t kidding. This restaurant’s banging. I can smell the food from out here. Ah, it’s making me more hungry!”

Pal let out a soft laugh as the other seemed to find amusement in the fact she hid the forks n all that. If the twins looked hard enough they’d find them; it wasn’t like she put them in the basement or the attic after all! Just out of the way so it would prompt them to talk to her.
”Well it’s more for you than them. Since they wouldn’t be coming along. In fact I had made some stuff for them to eat that just requires hands soooo…”
Pal snickered a b it and leaned slightly in her seat, their hands were still entwined so she didn’t want to pull too hard. Amusingly he’d follow suit with mimicking the two. The idea of them coming home and the kitchen being a mess made her grin for some reason!
”I’ll have to cook them something to apologize for that won’t I?”
Pal’s amusement died down when on the topic of her parents; they were a sour topic but… She lived off of what they gave her. She didn’t have anything special about her and even less now that she was basically a monster hiding in plain site. She’d sigh and shake her head.
”Oh no I don’t care what people think of them, sure i live off of what they give me but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. You could say just about whatever you wanted about them and I would probably agree. It’s frustrating to deal with and really I feel like the only thing that’d break them out of it is either some super doomsday event or me getting hitched.”
She’d snort a bit and shake her head; she appreciated the fact that he was defensive over her. It was frustrating to deal with them; it was frustrating that to have parents at all she needed to look to her grandparents. A prior yakuza and his farmer girlfriend who settled down in the big city.
She’d look up at the entry of the loyalist and with a grin she’d pat the other on the shoulder. Offering to lead him up the stairs; it wasn’t some grand staircase or anything but it was definitely a step above what was around it. The white paint or material they used was fairly different than everything too so you could tell where they started and everything else stopped.
”Eheh. It’s nice that’s for sure. I’m more for the stalls and side liners of other less expensive places. They have charm and flair all their own while stuff like this just… Drags.”
She thankfully wouldn’t have to open the door as one of the door butlers did it for them, a posh and nice looking fellow who didn’t look either of them in the eyes. Their job was door duty and nothing else. Pal would slip a small bit of yen into the chest pocket of the man before stepping through.
Inside?
It was immaculate, a full desk with a standing group of servers that were chatting with various guests. Going over orders or other things. The owner of this fine establishment was the one directing guests to the various sides of where they would get pulled in. A young looking man with a sleezy slicked back hair cut, a pair of shades and one of those irritating suits with spots on it. Quite eccentric judging by the fact his hair was a blazing red and obviously dyed in comparison to pals natural coloration.
”Ahah! And the last guests of the hour. Ms. Ikawaza how are you doing?”
”Not bad Arthur. How’s the folks?”
”As irritable as they are old I’m afraid! Come come, Let me take you to your table and get you set up for later… Are your grandparents coming later still?”
”Yeah they should be. Near the end I think. Not entirely sure.
”Quite quite. I presume this is your guest?”
”Date but yeah.”
”A pleasure! My name is Arthur!”
The man was already around the desk and would offer a hand to each, shaking them quite vigorously before leading them along to their booth. It was in a separate room, closed off to the rest of the place. It was homely, soft and the gentle music that played in the background was because of a set of speakers set up in the various corners.
”Today’s house soup is a Lobster Bisque, our house salad today is a caesar base and for drinks we have an array of sodas, wines and otherwise. But I presume you’d like water Ms. Ikawaza?”
”Some wine actually. Red. Blackberry.”
Arthurs eyebrows shot up and he’d nod his head, taking down the order before turning to justice, that smile present and his green eyes looking the young man over for the third or fourth time.
”And you my friend?”
